Prof. Lahrach is great! I wasn't interested in micro at all and cringed with the thought of attending. When I did attend however, he made micro easy and fun to learn. The labs were completely hands on and that helped me a great deal. I would recommend him to anyone needing to take micro.

Prof. Lahrach has a heavy accent but is very kind and wants everyone to do well. You could get an easy A if you attend class, participate, and follow his PowerPoint slides. There was no use for the textbook in his class as everything that you need to know is in his slides. Prepare to actively participate in class and answer his questions. :-)

Mr. L is wonderful and very smart professor at HCC Southshore campus. Do not need the book , bcause he provides slides with all info that you going to need for u test. There are 4 test + final which replace the lower grade. U need to study if you want to get A.He always is willing to help. Take him, and you will not regret it. Hot,hot guy!

Hard class. Very intelligent man Can intimidate his study and at times makes you feel inadequate. He calls on almost every student more than once so be prepared to feel like your on the hot seat. He teaches from power points but you better memorize them if you want an A. He doesn't like slackers and believe me he will know who you are!!!

He was a good teacher, and I feel like I learned a lot. It seemed like an easy A to me, but many others struggled. He is sometimes hard to understand, but if you print out the PPT before class and follow along, it is so much better.

Great professor. Knows how to teach and makes complex ideas much easier to grasp. He cares about his students and focuses on learning, not just "what is on tests".Always gives a great review before tests. He even held off surgery on a torn acl to finish our class. Very organized and low maintenance class. Tests are every 4 weeks and each week consists of a hw assignment, quiz and discussion board on what you found most challenging in each chapter. Lab is also completely online. Strongly recommend.

I was dreading taking this class because I am terrible at science but I ended up really liking this class. The online class is very self explaintory you are able to work ahead as much as you want. There is 3 big exams worth 100 points each but extra credit is offered on each test. Overall great teacher !!!!

I was really worry about taking micro class, but seriously he makes it not difficult at all. You definitely have to study. However, your study will not be that overwhelming because you will know what to study and what he expects for the test.

took online class 12 weeks over summer. amazing professor and class. he responds at an okay rate, tries to help out as much as he can. all answers to quizzes can be researched online and all test questions are the quiz questions so take pics of all quiz questions before starting test and you will be fine ;). great easy class if you need a science.

Professor Lahrach, is very straight forward with what he expects from you. He thoroughly goes over everything during lecture and reviews again until it is time to test. Professor Mustapha is great. Very clear grading criteria. Average workload such as online assessment, online quiz, and online labs. Quizzes are tough and answers are not online. He is very understanding of any needs you may have and will do what he can to help your success in this class. Would take him again!

TAKE HIM!!!! Literally sooo easy since I took it online. I took the lab for bio too and got A's in both and it only took me like an hour a week to finish both the classes work for the week. He literally rocks! Idk how the class is in person but online it's so easy!

The class is super organized, and the professor is very helpful. You need to work for your grade.

I took him online for labcture. In lecture there were weekly learnsmarts(easy) with a test, and discussion. In the lab there were virtual labs that you must complete & test after. Some labs were hard. Kind of extensive. Keep each question on tests bc they are on the exams for both lab and lecture! Have to buy 2 textbooks also!

Took this class along with the lab & I don't regret it. For having this class & the lab online, I thought it would be difficult, but it wasn't. One chapter & a quiz each week & one lab & a quiz each week. You just need the access code for both classes & that's all. He is very responsive to emails & grades on time as well! I definitely recommend!

The layout of this class is the best of any online classes I have ever taken. The power points that he makes are very helpful. All the assignments are fairly easy, as are the tests. He grades quickly. Highly recommend.

Loved this professor. Took his online class and it was super easy. Read the chapter, answer 45 review questions that are highlighted as the answer in the book for you, take a short quiz, and an assignment every week. Takes me about one hour a week to do the work.

Best Biology professor EVER! I was worried about taking BSC 1005 lecture & lab online. I also work 60 hours per week. He makes it very easy and the class is very organized. Instructions are very clear. He grades assignments faster than any professor I know. I highly recommend taking his class!

I took this class online over the summer and struggled due to a family emergency. This professor did everything he could to help me get my work done. Dont get me wrong, I still had to work for it but he genuinely cared if I passed.

there is no reason to fail this class or the lab. extremely easy class and the professor responds quickly to emails. i took this class online and as long as you did the learnsmart, quiz, and 10 question (sometimes not even) assignment, you will pass. there is 3 easy exams and 1 proctored final which he gives you a study guide for.

I took this class and the lab over the summer, and I finished both in 4 weeks. You will pass if you complete the assignments, quizzes, exams, LearnSmarts, and LabSmarts on time. The labs can be tiresome, but I suggest you complete at least 85% on all of them; they seem to be a completion grade. Put some good effort, and you are guaranteed an "A."

He makes sure everyone understands the topics before moving on, explains every single part to ensure understanding, and is available out of class if you need extra help. He encourages questions so you don't have to feel weird about it. There's online assignments that are lengthy but there aren't a lot.

This course was structured very efficiently for it being online so, the homework, quizzes, and exams were not difficult since he offers reviews for them. However, since the final exam was proctored (I went on campus), he was so reassuring of us to make sure we were comfortable during the exam. Overall, I would recommend any science class of his!

Basically the whole class is done on learnsmart which is an online program, super easy. He does upload powerpoint notes, and gives a quiz each week along with a thinking question. Super easy work and nice and understanding guy. Also managed finishing the class with a 97 A, failed my final and still got an A in the class. FINAL IS PROCTORED.

Professor Lahrach is great! There is lots to read and its not open book. However, if you study and pay attention you should be good. Plus he is willing to answer any question. I only gave this rating because of the class, not him. The online labs can be frustrating. Sometimes they glitch and wont let you complete it even though you already have.

Weekly quiz, critical question and assignment. He grades several weeks at once. The PowerPoints are long, take longer if you take notes. The exams are mostly the same exact questions as the quizzes so review those before starting the exam. Stay on top of work and you'll get an A. He gets a lot of questions from Quizlet or other sites too.

The lab is the same as the Foundations class; weekly quiz and assignment, no critical question. The lab is easier than the class and as long as you do the work, you'll do great. The exams are (mostly) the same questions as the quizzes before it, so it makes it much easier to pass as long as you review.

I took Professor Lahrach summer 2020. You have weekly assignments due with a short quiz. I had three Exams & two of them were proctored. Majority of the answers on the short quizzes are on the exams, so study them(they really help)! This class was very easy if you completely your work on time. Lahrach was also incredible because he works with you.

Super easy class & nice professor. The homework was also easy & the exams are straight from the quizzes. The Learnsmart homework is 80 questions every week and is only worth 5 points, which is kinda annoying. Easy A as long as you follow the instructions on assignments. He isn't picky at all when it comes to grading.

Professor Lahrach is a lovely person who cares about his students and does his best to help them achieve their goals. His class has 21 quizzes and three exams. The questions are ultimately from the study book. Just do your readings, and trust me, you will get an easy A.

Amazing professor ,very easy class and you have a lot of time to finish the homework and assignment 3 proacted test and 1 research paper due to the end of the class . I barely had to study .an easy A. no live class meeting or online lecture you do all the assignment ,lecture and etc on your own .

Take this professor! Assignments are clear/easy to understand, you need to go over the PowerPoints he provides and to be successful. Although the PowerPoints may be long they are very educational and you can learn a lot that you can apply to daily life. Uses LearnSmart which can be up to 100 questions but they are easy/help prepare you for quizzes.

Everything was clearly laid out from the beginning. Overall, it was not a difficult class if you put in the effort. I would recommend and take Prof. Lahrach again.

Professor Lahrach was absolutely amazing. Very approachable and understanding of new students and their first time taking a course with a lab. He also had video type study guides for the big tests. All the big tests were proctored using Honorlock. This was a class with A LOT of information to absorb. You can get an A if you work hard for it!!!

Professor Lahrach was one of the best professors i've had. There's a lot to be absorbed in the course but he made it very easy to grasp. He offered live meetings before exams to review. He grades off of a fair amount of assignments. Took him in Spring22, the exams were just a curation of the previous quizzes.

If microbiology is one of your requirements take Prof. Lahrach! I took his microbiology lecture and lab 16 week course this summer and he was great. Microbiology has A LOT of info to know but he makes it easy to succeed. 3 easy assignments per week. 3 exams (1 is not honorlock) and the final. Exams have same questions as quizzes. TAKE HIM!!!!

He's a pretty good professor I mean there are a lot of assignments including a 50 concept McGraw hill that's due weekly so it is time consuming but overall the assignments are pretty easy. I got an A in the class

Quiz every week and if you want to pass the exam, review the quizzes. They are 10 question quizzes and the exam is about 40 to 50. We did have a two page term paper wasn't too bad. Grades well, pretty easy to understand class. Just make sure you do your work every week. HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Professor Lahrach's MCB2000 class is a great option - he breaks down the material well. Weekly quizzes and assignments are key, plus using unstuck AI for study prep helped me ace the exams. Definitely worth taking if you're interested in the subject.

I took professor Lahrach in the spring 24, and he is an amazing educator. He truly helped me understand and become fascinated with the world of microbiology, I almost switched my major. His words of wisdom inspired me to stay on my track. Use his study guides, they will prepare you for exams, and review the lecture powerpoint before attending class

Reading activity, quiz, and short paragraph every week. Quizzes are 15 questions long and pretty easy. The reading activities are pretty annoying the McGraw Hill ones. The paragraph questions are easy. 3 exams, practice the quizzes and you will get an A. Straightforward easy class. The lab that goes with this class is also easy.

This professor was great! Each week, we had a LearnSmart assignment, a quiz, and either an assignment or a discussion post. We had three exams—the first wasn't proctored, but the other two were proctored using Honorlock. The exams were really easy. We also had a 1,000-word paper due, but it was very straightforward.

I loved Professor Lahrach the class was super straightforward I got the class done in 12 days its super simple. But it does use McGraw which does have about 50 little multiple word problems to solve. The first test doesn't have honor lock but the other 2, BUT they are just the multiple choices from the quizzes so all you have to do is memorize it!

There's also a 2–3 page final paper at the end. The lab attached to the class has 1 assignment & quiz weekly. Lab has 2 proctored exams, that are also repeat quiz questions. Great prof.!
