Yun has a thick accent, which makes it difficult to understand. There is a lot of inclass involvement, which is good/bad depending on you. He is exactly like a high school teacher scolding you to do your work and to come back to class. Very boring. I recommend another teacher. It's hell each class.

His class was so hard. He lectures way too fast.
You should not take any class with this professor. He goes way to fast and he can't teach. You will have to work twice as hard just to understand what he is talking about.
Good teacher, u have to really work hard in his class.
Pretty okay instructor. He tends to zoom through the material and can be quite unclear at times, but otherwise for the most part, if you study, just as with any class, you should be fine. Not as good as my prior instructor though. Nonetheless, I feel confident enough with Yun to want to take Math 125 in the fall with Yun.
I think hes a very good teacher..highly recomended.. He was very helpul to me and I found that working hard in his class gets u a good grade...If u need help or u need him to slow down for u all u need to do is ask..
i dont think he likes teaching but just doing it. he just goes through the book really fast and assigns homework. You just have to ask a lot of questions I guess. but to me, hes not very helpful.

Very Impatient teacher, doesn't seem to care about teacher.
He is an OK teacher. He explains things rather quickly though, but this course is equivalent to Algebra II. So it isn't really that tough.
He is a great professor who can explain this subject well. He will make you get better understanding on Calculus. But most of my friends think he is hard. Because on the exams, we usually have some proves, but if you understand the topic, it's not that hard, otherwise...... If you really want to learn Math, TAKE HIs ClaSs!!!
he is funny, and explain very well, just sometime he`s a little bit rude with the students. But at all he is a good teacher.
he reviews before every quiz which is very helpful. doesnt want us to memorize stuff and instead teaches us derive the formulas so you dont even need to memorize them. he has sample test on his website and he tells you what subjects to expect on the tests and final. what else do you want? o yea and gives you full points on homework if its turned in
He is the best teacher and he is also smart. If you really want to understand about math, you should take his class. Althoung his exam is always a little hard but it's very helpful,so if u want to do well in his exam , u should do homework. It's up to you to take his class. Actually i took his class on math 262 and currently on math 275
nice teacher, best math teacher in ELAC
Very detailed when teaching. Answers student's questions with details and examples. Walks around while you are working to check on you and make sure you are doing the work correctly.
Most horrible teacher I ever took! I'm not great in math, so I expected a "professor" to help you out a little more, not be condescending and expect you to know everything before you walk into class. A lot of homework but don't even do it, it doesn't matter. You have to pass ALL the tests to pass this class. Don't even attend every day, that doesn'
Don't take him!! He doesn't care about the students as much as he portrays! I don't even think he wants to teach. maybe just has to! If you're GREAT at math, take it, if you just mediocre.. you don't stand a chance!
Difficult to understand. He's strict about attendance and gives loads of homework. Test and quizzes every other week. HARD.
I do not recomend to take his class because he does not teach.
Don't take this professor!! Really bad at teaching, heavy accent, and expects too much out of his students for how bad he teaches. If you are good at math you might get a "B", but if not then you will be left out trying to learn the material yourself. His teaching is very unclear.

jerk teacher! heavy accent so cant understand him. thinks everyone is dumb, very difficult. never take him ever!!!!!!
NOT RECOMMENDED. Not only is his accent terrible, his teaching is the WORST. All he does is read from the text book and do examples from there as well. VERY TERRIBLE at explaining the math problems. Homework is given every time class meets. Tests are not multiple choice. If he doesn't know an answer to a question, he doesn't care.
Just like everyone say. He's bad. However, for those who already good with math and want a great grade, take him. The easiest prof. on campus. He's really easy on homework n test. just nail every test, n guess what? U'll got an A or at least a B. so go figure!
very good teacher, though half his class failed (mostly because they didn't care)
He is a ok teacher. He does give out a lot of homework, but he gives you enough time to do it....its just that im mostly lazy and i procrastinate. Tests are a bit hard he is a very hard grader in the tests as well. I would recommend taking a much more simple professor.
He sucks, gets annoyed fast, he is an ass and will make you feel dumb if you dont understand something do not take. He gives up on people very easily and brings everyone down.
He's a very good teacher. He shows how to derive each and every formula so that you don't have to remember. He gives a lot of homework, which makes you prictice a lot (that's what's necessary for Math). The way he teaches is very good especially for students who are more in Listening than studying. You could also get used to his accent in short time.
before i started the semester i didn't know anything my 2nd time taking 110. Prof Yun was great!! yes during class time all he does is go over homework and goes over the book but he explains the material very well. yes he does have an accent but it's not even that bad. He doesn't require the lab so that's great!
Avoids physics problems like the plague. Treats the class as if all those attending are math majors and adjusts the majority of his test problems accordingly.
the worst math teacher i ever have in elac!!bad explanation, not clear, never prepare before class. His class is not easy ,don't take him if u want an "A"!! if u really want to learn something, may be you can try him
Be careful to learn in his class, qizzes and tests are so hard. Anyway, you should write out even you can not finish any exercise, you can get point. He evaluates on your knowlege and your skill that performed on test. Generally, it is not easy to get A. If you are international students, his accent is a barrier for us.
Probably the worst math teacher i've ever had. He's confusing and his accent doesn't help either. He doesn't allow calculators and requires you to know a bunch of stuff that aren't really necessary in the later calculus sequence. His tests are hard. DON'T TAKE HIM unless you're naturally strong in math.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! It is very difficult to understand him! Math may be boring to many people, but his class gives boring its own course. His tests are primarily about knowing the defns of the theorems, rather than computational work. A lot of the exams include true/false questions that are very unclear. I was desperate and had to take him. Just dont!
he is a smart teacher. if you want to learn more about math, take him! yes, his test is not easy, but it is useful. you'd better do your hw. if you have any question, just go to office hour, he will help you.
Funny. Mean. Its difficult if you don't study and don't care, but he's a good teacher.
diffcult teacher.if you want to learn, take his class. if not, don't take his class. his class is very helpful, but very diffcult.
If you love math as me, I recommend taking him, because you are going to memorize formulas, you are going to learn how to get those formulas. Oh and a good tip is that you have to think out of the box in order to understand him.
I could not understand what he teach. I got straight A anyway, because I did all homework, read book by myself. But the exams were easy. Not too much works like in OCC (40 danm hard problems/2hrs while Yun gave out 10/2hrs) I like him anyway.
Interesting professor. Class is easy but if you really wanna learn something you have to read the textbook yourself. Always caculate wrong but that's okay... A kind person after all! Explain questions with patient.
He's a professional and implements it very well in class lectures. He will help his students & his "too cool" math nerdiness is awesome. I recommend any student to take him if they need "extra" help and want to understand the concepts behind mathematics. He will explain (might get kind of impatient;what do you expect?) down to the nitty gritty
Tough class, lectures were very unclear. Good Luck if you're taking Calculus II, be prepared to do a lot of self-study. Also, things he says in-class will be on the tests.
His class is really catered to those who have already taken calculus and want expansion on concepts. Makes calculus unnecessarily difficult. Tests consists of proofs and very difficult/tricky computational problems. Doing hw will not help you prepare for tests. If you're not doing well he will tell you to be realistic in your capabilities and drop.
It's a hard course + you should really learn everything by yourself. Do not just take notes in class, which could not help you at all. if you wanna pass, must read text book a lot, and understand it and do all of your hw. tests are not too hard, but be careful.
He was easy to understand. Funny guy and he will repeat anything for you if you need him to. His course was easy and he gives you plenty of different ways to solve a problem. He doesnt give you an F if you try! I would recommend him. Great teacher.
Best math teacher. Explains everything clearly and most importantly well! Will review any trig & algebra necessary to complete this course. Test are hard but fair, nothing unexpected will be on the test. Prior to test date, he will tell you whats going to be on the test/quiz. Will definitely learn in his class. Homework is a must!
Super easy Proffesor ive taken math110=A,115=B, and now i am currently enrolled for his math 125 hoping to get a B or higher. Make sure to get all sample TEST, those same questions will be on the Final Test. Pay attention and you will pass his class,ASK question if something is unclear. He would be more than welcome to explain.
The best math teacher I have met and making life easy for me. All test problems come from lectures and sample tests. Take calculus with him!!It will make 270 and 275 easy. If you don't need 270 and 275, taking 261 with him will make 262 easy. In short, it is easy to get an A a.l.a you follow his instruction, and he makes your further study easy.
Honestly not that hard!!! Just do the homework + Study his exam test homework he gives before the test. You'll be fine. Always missed atleast 1-2 days of class a week, and still got a B in his class easily. Lectures like a dad though!
The best math teacher I have met at ElAC. He would like to help students get what he or she deserves. Just redo what he talked about in class and it helps a lot. I dont know why lots of students rate he is hard. they might not follow what he talked about in class.
Not very clear. Not responsible. Very funny and nice guy. I don't recommend him.
Not very clear. Not very responsible. I don't recommend him. I would not take his class again
Was very helpful and tried to simplify the problem for the students to understand. Would give a sample test that we had to turn in if we wanted to take the test. Would go through all the h.w. if asked!
This class was very boring. The teacher could be funny at times but overall was pretty rude. The way to get an A in this class is to use your book a lot and get tutoring. It's pretty hard to understand the teacher but he does want you to succeed.
very heavy accent. this professor was overall rude a plenty. he complained about placement testng being inaccurate. very discouraging . says hes lenient but is not. fails all who dont master the exams.
He is actually a very good professor, and his teaching method, which is different from American professors, is very helpful and useful .He does not really use the textbook is because it is very confused, but he makes everything clear. However, the only problem is that he has accent ,but it's ok to understand. If you really want to learn math, take him.
I took this class online and there are a lot of homework online and on paper. I had three tests and a final exam and he will have a review session before the test.
Took this course online. You must meet in person to take 3 exams and a Final. Make sure to do all online homework and quizzes. Professor Yun will meet with you prior to testing for a review (similar to exams). If you study and master the reviews, you'll do well on the tests. Very approachable and cares about his students.
Yun's lectures prepare you for your homework and tests. Take good notes, sit in the front, don't skip class, ask questions, participate and you'll get a good grade. It has been six years for me since I took math. I almost dropped the class but I sought his help, did my homework after every class, stood on top of all assignments and studying.
I think he is a good professor and can teach a lot of useful things. Have previous exam online and you don't need to remember all the formula. What's more, if you take his lecture, you don't need to read textbook, just fellow what he teach in class and he usually review before exam. final is a little bit hard, but if you prepare, you will fine.
Nice professor, really clear lectures. Tests are not that hard but not an easy A. Previous exams posted online. Homework can be not fully finished because some problems can be "too easy to do".
Yun is a great professor to learn from but very harsh when it comes to testing the students' knowledge. Tests & quizzes were difficult to understand for first-timers but if you know your stuff, then it is potentially easy. Not very lenient on attendance and homework are good for your grades.
his class is not very clear.
Yun along with faradineh are my favorite math professors. I can still hear him say "clear up your logic" while waving his hand with his strong accent. His lectures are enjoyable and he goes the extra length to teach concept behind the math. Office hours is a must. Totally laid back guy however exams are tough and class isn't for the weak.
He helps his students unlike the other professors in the Math Department. Goes over homework if students would like. I definitely will take him again in the future. Exams are 50% so just pay attention, do your homework and ask any questions if you still have trouble:) Will NOT pass you if you don't know your simple 105/110 material.
Lectures are not clear and is not great at explaining. Has high expectations for students and requires extensive knowledge of math vocabulary, notations, and proof.
Don't take him unless you like having trouble understanding and don't want to pass. He's not clear on his instructions, likes to make up his own equations which are much harder than the ones in the book, and jumps back and forth between problems making you even more confused than you already are. His method of teaching is horrible and he's rude. :)
Really good guy, he has his own methods for teaching math problems but they are very easy. As long as you follow the equations step by step, you will pass easily.
I took Professor Yun's hybrid class for Spring. You only need the book for the homework questions. Math is my least favorite subject. However, I benefited greatly from Professor Yun's teaching. There are three tests which are about 10% each and, of course, the final which is around 20%. Professor Yun is also very lenient.
If you want to destroy your Gpa, just take his class. If you wanna practice your listening, just take his class. If you wanna turn very easy questions to very hard, just take his class.
Many students might not prefer Prof. Yun when taking calculus because they have a very shaky calculus basis from hs or math 261(this is a perspective of a math 262 freshman). The professor gives a chance to boost your grade, & he doesn't expect you to remember, just derive/understand. His quizes are also short, and material on tests are covered.
Prof. Yun addresses at the beginning of class that; You must have already review/or have knowledge from the class before in order to be in his class that you are in now. It's "usually" a front to scare off the bad eggs and he will sometimes take a vote for some review (with a cost of course). Yun will stop what he's doing to help you understand.
Want an A? Read subject beforehand. He's a great professor but if you are going in blind into class he'll leave you in the dust. He does jump around a lot so it's hard to follow but if you look at the old exams and understand few key concepts you'll fly by
This teacher was tough. He just didn't help me understand how to solve anything. I was struggling really bad so unfortunately I had to drop. I recommend another professor.
Always gave two examples to help us understand the problems and solve them. Very easy class.
His way of teaching makes it harder than what it really is the students at the math lab help you more oh yeah his accent makes it harder to understand , don't take him !!!!
Don't take this class unless you already know all the math in 260 and just want to skip some lesson. His accent is terrible and always make the method to solve question more complicated.
He's the first Math professor I strongly dislike. He's always late to class and dismisses us late. His strong accent makes it hard to understand him. He makes everything harder than it really is because of his specific grading style. He jumps around topics too often and reviews previous course material more than necessary.
the math is not hard but he makes it more complicated than it should be. he jumps topics/sections without saying anything so its always so confusing were we are. makes class leave late all the time and we missed one quiz because, quote "im to lazy to grade". Nice guy but even he has admitted that other professors probably teach better than he does
He really makes math complicated. really tough grade. !
Sure it's true that it'll benefit you to know some of the material before lecture, but for Yun, it feels like an excuse to do less prep for his lectures. He is not organized and that made his lectures hard to understand, on top of the fact that he made lots of mistakes. He's funny and all but he doesn't seem to have the heart in teaching.
Too unorganized. He made things way harder than it should be. Hard to take notes from lecture. tests were different than hw and what he mentions in class.
He lectures too fast and he assume you know the step process. He just does problems after problems. His lecture is very unorganized, you cant follow him by steps. If you already know the material, take his class. Otherwise, you will be more productive and probably learn just as much staring at a wall.
I did not really try in this class, which resulted in a B. If you try and study the book then you should be okay. He lets you have one make up test if you miss that day of class. He is kinda messy and does not erase the board completely (OCD problems if u know what i mean).
He's a professor that goes through deductive reasoning. He skips steps but if the class looks confused he will clarify. It is hard to keep track of his work on the board because he kinda writes over his own work. This class is proof heavy and they're always on tests/quizzes.
Professor assumes that everyone should be really good at math and doesnt understand that most of us arent majoring in math. We are majoring in different things thinks he needs to slow down
I dont recommend taking this course with him, he doesnt slow down and he doesnt understand most of us have a different major. Many of us need this class for an A.A, slow down and be patient. Hes tough and assumes you are a math major
Dry, but somehow also hilarious. Professor Yun pushes his students to really dig deep to try and understand math even if they are not math majors. Many people in the class felt he was strict and moved too quickly but I thought he presented logical arguments with a particular finesse and enthusiasm that is hard to find in mathematics.
He's hard. But I learned a lot that I'm not sure I would learn with another professor. His instruction on Chapter 12 is really important and takes up half of the class. Definitely do the homework right after class finishes. We had around 10 quizzes! You can't slack off in this class. Teaches you to look for reasoning in Calc problems. Good luck!
I attempted this course of Fall 2022 and lasted about two weeks. The amount of HW and quizzes this man assigns is honestly ridiculous and rather than setting you up for success, He sets you up for failure. This huge amount of workload will have you stressed out more than help. Save yourself from the stress and just pass on this guy. Terrible.
his tests are given through Zoom and he is watching your EVERY move. Prerecorded lectures LOTS of homework, and if you don't do the study guide it is a 0/20.. HARD grader and doesn't provide any extra credit. Quizzes every week as well as my open math work overload, it amazed me how much work he gave. Would not take it again. DO NOT stress yourself
He is not a bad professor, he sometimes gives confusing lectures but if you ask him again it is not that bad. He watches you every move while you are taking the quiz or test but he doesn't do it for the entire duration. Exam might be difficult but its all in the study guide and you can ask him the hard question on it and he'll help.
I actually enjoyed all the quizzes and homework. It made me feel more ready when the test came. For tests he gives out study guides which help so much. He is pretty cool and understanding. The most important thing of this class is to just stay on top of all your assignments. Especially the hw!!!!
Professor Yun assigns a heavy workload with a lot of homework every week. He is a tough grader, so be prepared to put in extra effort on assignments and exams. The material is interesting, but the grading and workload can be overwhelming. If you're looking for an easier class, this might not be the best choice.
Heavy workload, tricky tests, and confusing teaching style. Avoid this professor if you're not a math major - unstuckstudy and the math lab were more helpful. Overall, a tough and stressful class.
Professor Yun usually assigns a lot of homework, which can be kind of overwhelming. He also assigns a lot of quizzes throughout the semester. However, his lectures are very helpful. He also gives extra credit for going to the math lab.
