Really enjoyable class. Allows re-writes on papers until you get an A. Very friendly and easy to approach. Goes the extra mile to help her students.

Dr. Balok is awesome! She is extremly nice and so easy to get along with. She understand everyone's problems and helps you through them. Also, when writing an essay, if you get a bad grade, she lets you re-write and re-write over again. AWESOME TEACHER

Absolutely sweet woman, always willing to help, very nice, always smiling, easy class in general. Real old school and gentile, and supportive. She let us write open-ended essays, and as someone else here mentioned, let us rewrite our essays for a better grade. She was always helping us at all times. Overall:very recommended! 1 of my favorite profs.

Prof. Balok is the nicest professor I've met so far, if you need help just ask, shes willing and she will tell you answers to her tests. The papers suck to write but she doesnt grade hard. Shes kind and understanding so just be honest with her if you miss class. If your looking for an easy, somewhat fun class, shes the person to take!

Took this lady for Interpreting Lit. Class was very easy. She was very nice and graded easily. I always sat in the back and tried to sleep and she always thought I was sick or something...so yeah...do that and maybe you get a better grade...yeah...

Probably the best and easiset teacher ive had so far at SRU. She is the nicest woman in the world. Attendance isn't mandatory but she gives all the answers to quizzes and tests in class, plus she give bonus for good attendance. She is one of the few teachers who cares about each individual student and you are not just another cold statistic. :)

College Writing 2 wasnt that bad with her. The papers arnt that bad, just pick something interesting. The last research paper you do sucks. But overall not a bad teacher if your looking for a B or A.

I had an awful teacher for writing in high school, and it made me really not want to write anymore. The moment I stepped into Dr. Balok's class, I loved writing again. If you are going to take her do it now because next year is her last year before she retires. This class is also super easy and she keeps it interesting. Dr.B is one of the sweetest most genuine teacher I've had a slippery rock. There is a poetry section which is super easy, short stories and a very easy group project you can present in front of class or do a project and then a novel. Somewhat read the stories and you'll do great. Take her if you get the chance best instructor I have ever had.
