He was a nice guy, but the class was incredibly boring. I went to class, but many people did well and never showed up. The class is an easy A, but they purposely try to grade deflate on the second exam so be careful and study more for that one.
Really easy class. Myron is really great at explaining everything and makes sure that you understand it all. He's very detailed and is willing to help. Very enthusiastic too. It's a very straightforward class and you should easily get an A.
Greatest teacher ever! So helpful and always excited to teach!
Very easy class. I would recommend attending class especially towards the second half of the semester. Discussion is a complete waste of time. Homeworks and quizzes makeup account for a good sized portion of the grade. Good prof easy class.
The best teacher I've ever had. Teaches math with absolute clarity, making it easy to understand for his students. I'd highly recommend him!
Not many chances to be graded in this class, but the exams are mostly take-home. He explains calculus in a somewhat confusing way, more focused on the meaning behind the problem and not the actual calculations. Sometimes vague at grading.
Do not take the online class. The TA's are absolutely awful. They barely speak English and do not know how to properly teach this course. You might as well stay in your room and learn by yourself because that's how much help you get from Myron.
Took this as a hybrid class (lectures online, discussion met in person 1x a week). He's really clear online and the material is easily grasped. Definitely would recommend the hybrid. 1 easy in class quiz each week. Many grading opportunities. 3 exams. Keep up with homeworksquizzes and you should get at least a B+. Text not necessary
One of my top 5 professors I ever had. Classroom learning was sometimes difficult. However; this guy is great for providing help, understanding, and will meet with you any time for help. Always enthusiastic and a great guy. Tests were take home, but still not easy. Homework is difficult, but help for taking the tests which are easier as a result.
I had him for Math 2710, had him again for Math 2360Q, and will have him a third time, Math 3240, this coming semester. He is very clear with everything and all of his exams are take home. I recommend taking him for proof-based courses. He is very precise with detail behind mathematical concepts rather than just the calculations. Awesome professor!
Online class was straight-forward and to the point, with lectures no longer than 30 minutes tops. Weekly quizzes in discussion with 2 or 3 questions about that weeks lecture, 2-4 HWweek, and dropped a few quizzes and homework in the end. Overall very good professor and teacher and his TAs were great as well.
Myron is a good teacher. The exams are easy. I think I watched 5 out of the 25 or so lectures that he posted online and I still have an A. It's very basic concepts. I would 100% recommend this class for anyone that is thinking of majoring in Finance or Econ.
Math 1070Q is an easy A if you do the work. Lectures are posted online, but you don't really need to watch them for the first few weeks since the material is review. Weekly WebAssign quizzes and homework are not too bad at all and are a good way to review for exams. Weekly quizzes in discussion are simple and there are 2 exams, plus the final.
Myron is an excellent professor. Put in the time and effort in class, attend lecture and study your notes. You will be rewarded with a great experience and a master mathematician and teacher
If you have Myron as your professor, then he will make you enjoy mathematics. He is simply awesome. The homework assignment is a lot harder than the exams, so make sure you know how to do the homework problems. If you can, you will get an easy A.
Overall pretty good teacher. Knowledgeable and always has office hours. Calc 2 is tough, but always went over examples in class you'd see on webassign, discussion quizzes, and tests. Put some actual study time in, understand ideas/concepts, and you should be fine.
Myron is a great professor. I took him for Abstract Algebra I, which is a difficult course. Myron makes difficult concepts MUCH easier to understand and his hand out notes are great . I still had to work VERY hard for my A, but Myron was there all the way. If you work hard in his class and ATTEND CLASS, you'll do well.
Myron is the only professor I've had thus far that I really have no complaints about. His tests are difficult but fair and his lectures are fantastic. Anything that he may miss is definitely picked up by his TAs in discussion. He is young, funny, and despite his name has no accent and is very approachable. Definitely recommend.
I had him for MATH 1132 or Calc 2 and he was THE BEST! He is a high energy lecturer and is always prepared. Very easy to talk to and wont make fun of dumb questions. I wish every professor was more like him!
Online video lectures are very straight forward. Homework and quizzes are very similar to examples he gives.
Myron is an awesome professor! Calc 2 with him could not have been better, he is clear in his lectures and helps everyone out, and does not judge at whatever pace you may be learning at. He is young and super easygoing, as long as you attend lecture you should be fine. The exams are not terrible, but you do need to put in effort. He uses iClickers.
Took the online version of this class. There is a lot of online homework but it usually was pretty easy and didn't take very long. Myron was always very willing to help and always available to answer emails or at office hours. Theres a group quiz each week in discussion so you have to show up. Exams are just like the practice exams given.
Myron was the greatest math professor I've had since I've been at UConn. He makes even the most difficult information easy to understand and helps you to be a true problem-solver in and out of class. In my specific class, we did a lot of group work. Also, participation is key; it made up a decent portion of the final grade.
This is the kind of high-energy professor you need for a summer calc class. He loves the material and loves teaching it, and he's able to go into so much detail and help you understand everything.
Solid lectures but can sometimes be hard to follow. Overall great choice!
Solid teacher, clear lectures, 10/10 would take again
He was an amazing professor! His lectures are easy to follow. If you have any questions he makes sure you understand it before moving on. He's the best calc prof I've had so far.
Such a good lecturer. Always open to answer questions no matter how stupid they may seem. Practice tests VERY similar to real exams.
Great professor to take Calc 1 with. Goes into detail on each topic and answers questions no matter what they are. Gives a practice exam before each exam that are similar to the exams. If you do practice problems, an A in the class is very possible! Lectures have clicker questions so attendance is mandatory unless you want to lose points.
Myron is definitely the best teacher I've had this semester. You should definitely print out the slides and use them when taking notes. He explains the topics clearly and is really passionate about his teaching. He even kind of lights up when someone asks him a question during lecture. You should definitely take classes with him if you can.
Myron is probably one of the best professors at UConn. His class is so well structured and easy to follow. Each lecture usually covers one section, and once all the sections are done there's one class of review followed by one class to do a practice exam which is very similar to the real exam. Take Calc I with Myron!
Great content in his lectures and always makes sure the class understands before moving on to next subject
This class is hard to conceptualize at first. Every lecture is introducing a new topic too, so it's a rather fast paced class. HOWEVER, this professor is absolutely incredible. He's a great lecturer and great at answering any questions you may have. Also, he's very accessible outside of class and after class. Don't skip lectures, & you'll pass!
What an awesome guy. Never got bored during his classes and he's also incredibly helpful. If you take MATH 2710, he's your best option. You have to work hard of course, so ask questions and participate, because that's what Myron wants you to do. No complaints whatsoever :)
Myron takes the time to make sure you understand the concepts in lecture, always asks if anyone has any questions. While the lectures are not exactly mandatory, he really explains everything very thoroughly.
Myron is an amazing teacher. I did poorly my first time around in multi so I had to take it again and he was more than helpful whenever I went to office hours. His lectures are very clear and helpful and he shows that he really cares. Honestly one of the best teachers I've had at UConn.
Myron is the most organized, caring prof I've had at uconn. His lectures are great - you learn a lot and he's great at explaining concepts. Homework is challenging but short and only due every 2 weeks. You won't find a prof more willing or able to help you in or out of class. 10/10 recommend!
Myron is a fantastic professor, very nice and really cares about his students
Myron is just a great teacher, he speaks as though he is actually interested in what he is teaching and in the success of his students. Anyone that has asked a question, no matter how dumb the question seemed, he answered it well, covering any extra things the class may be confused on. Just a great teacher and seemingly a great guy.
Myron is always open to answering questions and makes sure to be thorough. He is very nice and clearly knows what he is talking about. Clicker questions are used for participation points and you do not need to submit the correct answer for credit. There are two Webassigns due each week and two worksheets due a week usually with a quiz widweek.
His lectures are extremely organized and easy to follow. He will also stop after each problem to ask if there is any questions about the material which is extremely helpful as he is willing to answer all questions and is able to explain material in multiple ways. He is easily approachable and willing to help during office hour! Love him.
His lecture is really good and worthy for everyone who take his classes. The specific slides, timely course notes and seasonable reply for e-mail, all of these make me appreciate Myron and his class. Will take his MATH 3160 later!
He thoroughly goes through every slide and won't move on to the next one until everyone understands it. Very approachable and will let you know what information is useful now and later.
Myron is super enthusiastic about what he's teaching and makes sure to be available outside of class. That being said, I thought meeting with him wasn't helpful and the only feedback I got was "more practice probs". Clicker questions are used for participation, and there are two Webassigns, two worksheets, and a quiz per week.
I found his lectures to be very engaging and clear for each topic. He stops often to ask if there are any questions and schedules time for a day of review before each exam. Exams definitely covered all topics for each section (he doesnt leave anything off) but the questions were very straightforward.
Everyone calls him "the GOAT" but to be honest he wasn't that great. Both my Calc 1 and 2 professors were better than him. I only went to 50% of lectures, got an A. He's boring, although his explanations were good. Also,he takes SO MANY QUESTIONS in lecture, so if you're stuck with that annoying kid who won't shut up during lecture, you're screwed.
Such a great professor, how you do in the class is based on your own work tho. he teaches all the content well, u just have to make sure to do the homework and practice the skills. It is in your interest to go to everyclass because he teaches a new chapter or two every class-- sometimes he takes attendence with clicker. Best calc 2 teacher!
Nicest guy ever, I took online and had to reschedule all my exams and he was so laid back about it, plus his lectures were super straightforward. Maybe a little boring, but he sounded so happy just from his voice that it made the lectures easier to watch. The class was like every other calc class at uconn
Cares about his students. Holds good review sessions and office hours. His explanations are clear and easy to understand. Overall a great math professor
He made everything so easy and understandable! Unlike many other professors, after his lecture, you actually understand everything. He is accessible, will email you back in a couple of hours. I would like to take all of my math classes with him.
Super easy and fun UNIV1784! Tons of my friends were stuck with writing essays and reading entire books for their honors requirements, but Myron basically just asks us to show up, listen, and learn! He is very engaged and you never get bored (lots of hands-on activities). It helps if you are interested in politics or math.
One of my favorite professors. He's really nice and leads engaging lectures. I've had him twice now and will gladly have him as a professor again if possible.
Honestly, Myron's lectures that he posted online were very helpful in learning the course material. The step by step practice problems really did help me. But, when coronavirus forced exams to be completely online, Myron made the exams WAYYY too difficult. On each of the last two exams, I wasn't able to even look at the last couple of questions.
Took Calc 1 and 2 online. I think Myron was way more clear and helpful than my Calc 1 professor. Quizzes were once a week. Half were 20 min quizzes with 5 questions on HuskyCT and half were 2 question worksheets that we would submit on HuskyCT. Usually there were 2 Webassigns to do for homework every week. Definitely have to study for tests.
Myron is absolutely fantastic. He's done an amazing job with this class, and breaking it down in an understandable way. He posts his class notes (but not recordings), so skipping class is definitely not optional. That said, he's very accessible and willing to work with students and help. He has a good extension policy and is general friendly.
Lectures are very easy to understand
His lectures are easy to understand and is always available for office hours.
This man is the Calc goat. I took calc 2 with him which was a very hard class but Myron helped alot and included other professors' lectures in his class folders to show other perspectives on a topic. This class is exam heavy but he replaces any low mid-term grade with the final exam grade if it's higher, he also drops the lowest WDA, Quiz, and HW.
Great professor who knows what he's talking about! If you're into math and politics, keep an eye out for seminars he might do. The class isn't difficult and taught in an easy to understand manner. The exams were like the homework, which itself wasn't difficult and didn't take too long to complete. Would definitely take again, if I could.
It's a proof heavy class but Myron lets you do quiz corrections on weekly quizzes so getting an A is really easy. Midterms and final are take home.
Myron is not bad. I'm just not clicking with him. Don't have homework. Easy A. But if you're a math major that wants to learn a ton, don't take classes with him.
Myron is so sweet, and gives 4 extensions out of the 11 HW assignments. this class though is like satan incarnate, if you are not a math major, DO NOT TAKE IT. the entire thing is proofs, my notebook is more words than numbers. IF you did not take calc 1 in high school, you are screwed. dont take it, he is very sweet but the class sucks
Myron is a great prof! He is really interested in students' understanding of the material. Assessments were "portfolios" containing previous homework assignments (which could be submitted as many times as you want). Low stress class, lots of fun, interesting material. Myron is a great lecturer and is patient enough to explain answers to questions.
Great teacher that stands out, especially among others I've had teaching online math. When I experienced a combination of mental health and school support problems, he was completely supportive. Highly recommend taking his classes. His classes also fill up quickly, which should tell you I am not alone in this.
Myron is a great professor! Lectures are well paced, clear to understand, and he stops to ask questions before moving on to another example.
Fantastic professor that really stands out. Does a great job breaking down examples in-class and going further into detail if students are still lost. Is very engaging and manages to bring some excitement into what would ordinarily be a mundane lecture. Would absolutely take again.
His lectures were easy to listen to, however he goes pretty fast. He did not answer any of my emails throughout the semester, and I relied heavily on my TA for this class. He always post lectures and notes just in case you missed it.
Really easy class, this semester he dropped two of your lowest quiz and homework grades. He's a great lecturer, who records and uploads his lecture and lecture notes. Exams are really easy and short. If you fail your dumb and you shouldn't get below B range.
Lectures were pretty easy to understand and tests weren't super difficult.
Myron is an amazing lecturer. He lectures clearly and effectively, which allowed me to take organized notes. He does move a bit fast, but he explains things well. The class before an exam is a review session where you can ask questions, which was super helpful. Would 10/10 recommend.
I had the online Lecture. Each week would be assign two sections, watched multiple videos (~10-15min), and do the WebAssigns. You get 5 chances for fill in answer, and less for multiple choice. Discussion had the weekly quizzes. My TA, Yaser, pretty chill. At least this year, USE CALC NIGHT if available, TA's there to help on any question.
Myron was a fantastic lecturer for Linear Algebra and really made sure we understood the concepts. My only complaint was that we were graded 90% on 6 quizzes throughout the semester. Would definitely take again!
Myron makes what would normally be a rather mundane, boring subject a rather interesting one. He is passionate about teaching and it shows. He is very friendly and approachable. The quizzes for the class made up 90% of your grade and you could make up half the points you lost by doing quiz corrections. The quizzes were fair and not very difficult.
Myron is a great calc professor, he's very kind and he explains things very clearly without going too slowly.
Myron is one of the best math teachers i've ever had and a great person too. He is extremely passionate about teaching math. He goes in depth in his lectures but still digestible and easy to follow. He also cares about and respects his students which is extremely refreshing. In a class of 30+ kids he knew each of our names by introductions on day 1
Myron is super caring and you can tell he wants all of his students to succeed. The grade was made up of only homework, so this could be a good or bad thing. I did find his lectures hard to follow sometimes... he tends to write a lot down and is lecture heavy. He does his best to always answer questions and wants participation. Overall, great guy.
Truly one of the best lecturers I've had the pleasure of listening to. If you attend class and take notes, nothing in this class will be difficult for you. Not to mention he is dapper beyond measure. I still don't know what taylor series is used for though.
I did not like him at all. Yes, he was organized, but skipped so many steps in the problems and I would be lost so frequently. Quizzes were so weird. Exams were not too bad, final was literally the practice final problems. He taught as if most people learned it already rather than teaching first timers.
Myron was a very caring professor, but he often seemed confused on the material and was not able to explain clearly. Course was graded entirely on homework, which you could provide revisions for points back. Also two reflections (midterm and final) that were graded on completeness. Overall, a positive experience personality wise, but some confusion
Myron was a great Calc 2 professor; his lectures were great and he was thorough when answering questions. There are lecture activities, weekly quizzes/exams, and online HW.
Great Calc 2 professor, challenging course but very fair when it comes to test prep and grading. Practice tests are super helpful and the final was almost identical to the practice test given. Quizzes are short and usually fair. Highly reccomend.
I took this class online so its prob is diff for all student.tbh DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. personally i need things to be thourghly addressed and this prof is very smart but does a lot of mental math which confused me.doesnt explain what equations hes using andexpects you to know beforehand from day one.
Always recommended.
Great lectures, class isn't too difficult as long as you pay attention.
He was overall a very good professor and explained everything well and always told us what we needed to know for an exam. He cared about his students and i'm just bad at calc so if youre better at it, youll get a better grade than me.
100% take any class with myron!
Practice exams are almost exactly like the actual ones, if not easier. His grading criteria is very clear and his notes are easy to follow. The class before the exam is a review day, and he takes questions. Genuinely cares about student understanding.
Myron is a great Calc II professor. I took the class online with a TA-led discussion, but his lectures were clear, easy to follow, and engaging, even over a screen. He set clear expectations, posted exam reviews and answer keys, and made the material interesting. If you do the homework and pay attention, you'll have no problem getting an A.
Myron is a great prof. His lectures went through the material very well, and he always leaves time for questions. The homework is helpful for reviewing material, since it is harder than the tests and quizzes. He is available for office hours and SI is an option as well. If you go to lectures and practice you will do well.
Drops the lowest exam which is great. Talks super fast and speeds through it, but if you have a problem, he is able to diagnose it super quick and correctly almost always. Kinda robotic but great professor though and completely knows his stuff. Just a lil guy. Doesn't answer emails though lol most the learning is through the discussion anyway
Myron is an excellent Calc II professor! He makes a notoriously hard class class easy to understand. Lectures are clear and efficient. Weekly quizzes are only 1-2 questions, and if you complete the WebAssign, you'll be prepared. Exams are almost identical to practice tests, if not easier. Overall, highly recommend taking his class!
I struggled with calc 1 but this class was an absolute breeze. You will need to memorize a lot but this class is really just memorization and not a whole lot more. Myron is the best professor and explains everything very clearly. Go to office hours and he will literally give you answers to the hw. Practice exams are very similar to actual tests.
great professor, loved him, and he made me want to learn more
MY GOAT 🙏. makes calc 2 not that bad and explains things clearly. he explains things well especially for an 8am and is able to help and explain things well for confusing topics.
Myron is an amazing calc II professor! He makes a really hard class so much easier. I took the online section and attended discussion every week, and went to office hours with Myron when I needed help. The quizzes in discussion are always pretty easy, and the practice exams are very similar to the actual exams.
Great Calc 2 professor! Very clear and helpful lecture, not required but highly recommend going. Definitely worth the 8 am time. Usually cancelled the lecture the day after the exam. Only issue was that he was difficult to reach via email, but other than that no complaints! Quizzes/exams were simple and straightforward
Super clear lecturer and works out harder problems during lecture so you get used to the exams and quizzes. Always takes time to answer questions fully and reviews for every exam. But he will never email back so you have to go see him in person which can be annoying
Minn-Thu-Aye doesn't really respond to emails but he sees them and usually fixes any issues you have. He is always there to help during office hours. His lectures aren't very in depth if you actually want to learn but they are good enough to help you ace all of your quizzes. Exam questions are a bit different but similar to the practice exams.
Myron is an excellent professor. I went into this course with a lackluster knowledge of Calc I. Although he goes pretty fast though the material, the example problems he does are very similar to material on the exams. He also sets very clear expectations, and (at the time) would post recorded lectures. Using SI and recordings, the course is doable.
Professor Myron is awesome! Wishing him luck in his new career!
