Excellent professor. Clearly explains chemistry. Really cares about students. Will help you if you need help in office hours. Gives excellent reviews before exams. Has an accent but easy to understand. Very easy grader. Makes chemistry seem really easy.
I hated Chemistry with a passion before, but Dr. Han really made Chemistry worth learning. Class was interesting and I must admit, fun!:) I learned a lot from Dr. Han. He has a great teaching style and explains well. One of the best Chem instr. I've had!
Excellent communicator. Dr. Han succeeded masterfully at making Chemistry interesting for me. I learned a lot and was very much prepared for the next level of Chem. The tests are not necessarily easy but again, his expectations are clear.
I don't care too much for him, he has a weird and horrible way of teaching.
couldn't have asked for a better professor for this class!
Oh my God! he is the best teacher ever, i enjoyed his class very much, up to this day i crave his teaching, chem just isn't the same without him, he should be teaching all the general chem, and i guarantee a great chemist will emerge from columbus state if he does.
Had him for a feshman seminar class, the WORST class I have ever had, not sure if it was his fault, but jsut a supid class, and he was very hard to understand
Outstanding professor. He teaches exactly what he wants you to know and there are absolutely no surprises on his exams. I hope to take additional chemistry courses from him.
He gives you a study guide for the test and if you do the problems, you should get an A because the test is identical to the guide. He also gives out lots of extra credit during class so make sure to show up. If you struggle with Chem, he is the teacher to take.
I dont know wat to say? Seriously I was not ready for chemistry before taking his class as a matter of fact I changes my major so that I dont get to take chemistry classes. Han is the best chem teacher you can get and I mean it, he is so calm and gives you so many examples until you fully understands the solution.
Straigh to the point, great teacher!
Dr Han is a good teacher. English isnt his native language, but he uses the chalk board and over-head projector alot to make his point. If you study hard and turn in all labs, you can get an A. if you fall behind, you are doomed because he will not slow down.
Han is seemingly intimidating, but if you show true interest and concern he is most helpful! Excellent professor in my opinion.
Dr. Han at first is intimidating. Sometimes he can put people out there (making them feel kind of stupid). I don't think he does this on purpose though. However, he gives CLEAR study guides as to exatctly what will be on the test, gives TONS of examples and if you study hard, and show up to all the labs, you will get an A. :-)
Dr. Han is a great professor. Funny and likeable and he provides excellent review materials for all exams. Highly recommend...
awesome teacher! before this class I didn't understand or like chem. He really explains things in an easy to understand way. If you study, come to class and aske questions, you will do fine!
I couldn't understand anything he was saying and visa versa, so if I asked a question it took 10 minutes of my explaing my question!
Easy!! I don't have to take the final. He helps you a lot! His test is based on his practice excercise. If you do that, you will definitely be fine!!! Take him!!!
He is a great teacher!!! I took chem at capital and had no idea what was going on. When I took it with Dr.Han he explianed everything so clearly...we were his first class in spring 2005 and he got frustrated with us...but other than that he really nice. I think he looks like an asian Richard Gere.
This is a hard class, but Dr. Han was great. Lectures are organized and clear. Drop in office hours. If you follow the lecture notes & exercises in class, and review 10 min a day like he says, you'll ace the class. Optional homework is good test prep. Test reviews sometimes a bit misleading. Up side: lots of chances for extra credit. Recommended!
Very clear in teaching but test reviews were very misleading. We had the opportunity to earn 6 extra credit points. 4 on the first test and 2 on the second. The last 2 tests were the worst and the final is comprehensive.
Dr. Han is an amazing teacher. He goes over the material until you get it. He really makes ochem and biochem clear. You rock, Dr. Han.
Mr. Han is def one of the best profs I've ever had. He's very organized, super helpful, always on time to class, kind, very fair with grades... Amazing!! And there is no need whatsoever to buy a textbook because he types up his own notes of everything you need to know. It's crazy to say but I miss his class so much!! Go Mr. Han!! lol
A wonderful man, who's quite interesting. Just remember,"eat your meals".
It's ok to take chem 113 from him but not chem 171, 172 or 173. He does not understand upper level chemistry classes. When I need his help on my homework and he ran away and did not return my calls. WORST TEACHER EVER!! DO NOT TAKE CLASS FROM HIM.
Dr. Han is by far the best teacher ever! He is a smart person and teaches every thing so well. very helpful too. I don't know what some people are talking about him being a bad teacher!?!? Duh, you'll have to study.. it's school. You'll be glad you learned from Dr. Han. He's amazing.
Dr. Han knows his stuff. He explained the material better than any other instructor i've ever had for any class. He made class very interesting. RECOMEND TO EVERYONE!!! Awesome Guy!
Dr Han is one of the best tearchers at C State. He knows his stuff and is very organized. Brilliant mind
I don't know why his ratings good though,I got A on prof.Chumney,I got C on this stupid class. He take exam from Chem 113 while this is chem 112??He is hard.He not drop your exam,4 exam, you screw one,you game over.He also selfish in giving extra credit, only give 1 or 2. Even though his face look nice,After final grade, NOT INTERESTED! Don't take him
Exellent chemistry teacher. Uses Power point and is very clear with what he wants you to know.
i liked the way he teached and he seems like he really wants you to pass his class. if you have a question he will help you. i would recommend him to anyone.
I would NOT recommend him. Once he sees that you are struggling & on the edge point wise for passing, he will start taking points off on purpose so you will fail. DON'T TAKE HIM!
Dr. Han is awesome. He makes a difficult subject easy to understand. Use his notes, take his direction and you will not get less than a B.
The exams are easy if you study his notes very well.
Don't buy the book, you won't need it. You print out your lecture notes as you go and Dr. Han is a great instructor.
This dude is such a good guy. He goes over tests before he gives them the following class. Utilizes blackboard so his students are well informed on their progress. It is a difficult class. You do have to put forth a little effort to pass. He starts on time and uses lecture notes. I do not know what the inside of my Chem 113 book looks like.
Mr. Han is a very good teacher. During the first week we had a review of Chem 100. I learned everything that I understood and didn't understand about Chem 100 within the first week of class.
Great professor that teaches graduation course for Biology/Chemistry/Physics students. Great at giving positive feedback and helpful constructive criticism. He will work extensively with you on the completion of your paper if you need it. Highly recommended.
This is by far the Best teacher I have ever had! Listen to what he tells you to do and you will get an A
You will print all your notes. there are tons, but you dont use the book. he is extremely fair. gives a little extra credit. jokes around a bit. easy to get along with. reviews material well.
After my 1st instructor was fired and 2nd quit, Dr. Han took over my class during week 6. He was very accomodating to our deficiencies, and was able to make the best of a very bad situation. Overall the class was a disaster, but Dr. Han got us through.
Dr. Han is a great professor who gives his students every opportunity to do well. He offers extra credit (at least 20 pts overall). Although he requires lab reports, he doesn't grade too critically. No homework is required, but his practice problems often show up on the test. Great powerpoints and very approachable.
Mr. Han is a fun and entertaining instructor while making the subject comprehendible.
Caution for all Asian students, specially asian students who have english is the 2nd language. He is extremely discrimination. He dishonour you !!! It did happened to many asian students. After class, when nobody is in classroom, he dishonour with whatever he can say. He says you're so slow, can't study che and his best adive is dropping class.
if u can not pass his class and test give up there is no better teacher for chem 113
He is good guy but his class have very high failing rate. if you sure you have a very good chem background take for him if not get away from him
He is a really great teacher. I received a B by the skin of my teeth. I got a 96 on one test, two tests later I got a 52. He works hard to beat chemistry into the student. One time during class the tornado sirens went off, he just kept working. He stands and delivers chemistry. I give him credit. Subject matter is brutal. He is nice.
Dr. Han is extremely helpful and his reviews of the subject matter are excellent. Just listen carefully to what he says and take good notes. He cares about students and goes above and beyond at review sessions. His one fault is that he is a little disorganized sometimes (forgets to tell you things or provide you with things you need).
I took Chem 173 online course with him. It was very challenging but overall i got a B. His techniques taught me to read the book carefully which i hate most. So i would love to recomend this wonderful teacher to everyone. He is really nice.
I took Chem 173 online with this Professor. It was more challenging than previous Chem classes. But his techniques taught me to read the book carefully which i hated most. He is a wonderful educator, who knows how to teach.
I took him chem 173 online and the test were little bit tough but overall he is good. you just have to study the book and the notes and you will be ok. he also gives study guide which doesn't help much, but he is a good teacher. We Had Suma Kaveti for our Lab instructor she was good and she wil help you on labs if you cant answer the lab question.
Dr Han was excellent and was the most clear chemistry teacher I have ever had. I took 122 at Ohio State with Loza, got a C- and did not learn a darn thing. I decided to retake the class at a smaller level at CSCC, had Dr. Han and I am so happy with that choice. DO practice problems he gives you and attend everyclass he give a lot of bonus points!
Difficult to understand with the slight language barrier. His notes make no sense! His final was quite easy but the midterms were very difficult. The textbook makes more sense than him, also him and the lab instructor don't communicate AT ALL. Nice person. Lots of extra credit points but VERY CONFUSING
Do NOT take Han if you struggle in Chem - you will regret it! He doesn?t post virtual lectures or exam reviews. His lecture notes are basically just copied from the textbook. I felt like it irritated him when I would come to see him. He did always let me stay as long as I needed. He was nice but has no sympathy for those that don?t get Chem.
If you are interested in chemistry, I STRONGLY recommend that you take his class! He is very organized and very clear on what is important and what you need to know for exams, labs, etc. He is thorough, interesting, friendly, and very helpful. Overall a great professor. He also gives out a lot of extra credit. Class is always worth attending.
Dr. Han is an exceptional teacher and lecturer. He makes himself very available for students who need extra help!
Don't ever attempt to take him online
you will get the grade that you want and earn! plain and simple. he is extremely fair, and generous!Do your homework and you will be perfectly fine!
Very nice man. At the beginning he will tell you up front that if you find it difficult, you should drop the class. Then he will do everything he can to help you understand the material. His examples help paint clear, funny pictures of the concepts. Categorically, my grade is not his fault. I would recommend his class to anyone.
The best chemistry teacher in the world-end of the story! No beating about the bush, concise to points on concepts and what you need to know for exams, clearest explanation, has Asian accent but you will understand him clearly. Review and drill yourself THOROUGHLY with his exam reviews, if you understand and can do those you are safe. Very nice man.
Highly recommended. All quizzes and tests were open book. Calendar and syllabus were very clear and even color coded. He gives out extra credit in chat sessions and is always very helpful. The material is difficult, but the professor made the class as simple as possible. If you understand the material and take this class online, you will get an A.
Hands down one of the best professors at CSCC. He's concise and to the point. He gives you everything that you everything that you need to succeed. It's up to you to take advantage of it. For online students; read the book, watch his videos(and/or Youtube), do the exam guide(Especially this!) and you'll not only learn but do well in this class.
I took him online and i'm glad I did. Everything is up to you, there's only one online homework a week, lab only met once every two weeks, and 3 exams that he posts sample questions for as well as videos on how to solve them, i'm taking him for 1172 as well!
Amazingly organized, prompt, efficient, intelligent, communicative professor. Hybrid course. Very good at relaying hard-to-understand concepts. Sample exams Will prepare you for tests but make sure you know WHY the answers are what they are. Watch the videos, read the textbook, work problems, and go to lab. I learned a lot!
Best online class I have ever taking! everything is clear, just do your HW attend labs and watch the video lectures. To be honest his exams are a bit hard, there is no helping material what so ever and if there is he mentioned them in the videos that they will be provided. if you have enough time to study and work for it u will earn it!
He is one of the best teachers at CSCC. I am taking another class with him this summer semester.
Best organized online professor, everything is clear from grading criteria to H.W. and calender. You don't have to read, but need to know where to find the answers for H.W. would take again.
Very good teacher. If you need to take online Chem 1171, take with this professor you will be learn a lot. very recommended.
Took the blended class and it wasn't too bad. His exams are fairly similar to his reviews and you typically have 1 HW assignment per week. The labs aren't hard at all and he gives extra credit if you attend lecture after the labs. Weekend classes aren't fun, but Han is definitely the right choice if you are required to take 1171.
The class was very straightforward and easy. Strongly recommend taking gen chem 2 with Professor Han at Columbus state instead of at OSU. The class is a decent amount of work but the exams are not very hard as long as you do the sample exams and homeworks which have questions that are VERY similar to exam questions. He is a bit rude at times.
Professor Han is a great professor. He is an extremely smart man, and teaching the very most basic Chemistry class he has done well with. His words and actions show that he cares about his students and wants us to succeed! He uses PP during class and helps us really understand the problems during the lecture. Show up, do in-class ?? easy points!!
He is one of the best professors you will ever see. Even if you hate Chem, you will love it after you take is with professor Han. All you need is to follow his instructions, and you will have no problem getting an A. Exams are exactly like the review. Even though it is an online class, he takes from his time and gives an optional lecture.
He is the best teacher I have ever met till now. clear lectures, everything you need is there for you online and easy to reach. I took two chem classes with him online and they were great. Just follow his instructions, do the weekly HW, attend labs, study the exam example questions and you should be good.
Han's online class was easy, homework and online labs were multiple choice or one word answers. Exams were set up the same and study guides were VERY similar to exams, some questions even exactly the same. Extra credit for attending every lab on campus (about every other week).
I had to read and take my own notes for each chapter, and then complete the given online homework/quiz. They were relatively easy, all the answers were right in the textbook. I took the midterm and final at the testing center, and all the questions were from the test bank in our syllabus. Clear and doable assignments. I enjoyed learning about chem!
Dr Han is a very kind professor who answers emails quickly and thoroughly. He has everything laid out very nicely and gives you everything you need to be successful. Multiple attempts on weekly, open book, homework and quizzes. 2 exams at the testing center and extra credit. Topic is difficult be he makes it easy. Highly recommend!
He's very doom and gloom about the class and is clear on exactly how difficult an online chemistry class over the summer is. Despite that, he was very transparent with grading and his lectures are pretty clear. Absolutely no complaints.
Best chem professor ever. He makes us do about 10% of the labs required, lectures for us online students during lab time and gives extra credit for it (blended class), posts study guides that are just like the tests and very detailed answer keys.
Han is an GREAT teacher! I took the class online with him, it was a lot of work, but he's a great teacher. The material itself was basic chemistry but he organizes his lectures in a very helpful way. All quizzes get 3 attempts, all homework assignments get 3 or more attempts, and every big exam he gives a verbatim study guide and EXTRA CREDIT!
Great teacher!
While I do not specifically think the instructor is a bad person I find this course and his reflection so. I reached out early on for help well I asked if there was anyway i could get homework answers or be alerted as to which questions i got wrong. I was denied and told to work harder, something about it is not allowed. Impossible to study for!
Mr. Han is an AMAZING chemistry professor who knows what he's teaching and how to get it across. He gives very detailed and clear lectures, and if you actually pay attention and put effort into it, everything can easily be crystal clear. He gives extra credit, and you're sure to pass his exams if you do the sample questions and follow the guide! :)
I had this prof. for an online chem course. For me, it was very hard. The prof. would be good in a regular lecture class but I do not recommend taking it as an online course. Every other week was lab and it was mandatory. I did not like many things about the course but I really appreciated his extra credit opportunities and lecture he offered
Going into this semester I was a little nervous as I thought an online chemistry class would be difficult. I found out that if you listen to what Dr. Han tells you to do, which is listed in the syllabus, then you will do well in the class. There is a lot of reading but as long as you keep up with the assignments you will get a good grade.
Very clear about what you are tested on. If youre considering taking his online class, know that it will be challenging if you dont have the time to teach yourself, because that is what is required of an online class. And teaching yourself chemistry makes it harder. That said, his study guides are great and his lectures are helpful.
Loved this prof. He was very thorough on what we were learning. He breaks everything down piece by piece! If youre a slow learner like me, youll love him! He tells you what to study for the tests no surprises! Attendance matters and never be late or he will count you absent!
P. Han was very straightforward about assignments and what was required in the class. Quick to reply to emails. Although there is plenty of assignments and reading, the class is doable. The average week in this class would include 1-2 chapters of reading and 1 assignment due (homework, quiz). 30 points of extra credit. Doesn't give assign. answers!
I took this class as a hybrid course. The professor is not good at answering questions. You will need to buy the text book and practice all the problems you can. He doesn't help in lab, so take advantage of tutors. for pre and post lab questions.
MY BOYY! He's super chill. Although i took the online class, he sometimes takes uses some lab time lecturing about the material your suppose to learn yourself. First day of class he'll give a scary disclaimer about how hard the class is but as long as you try you will probably get an A. Also his review questions are VERY similar to the test/
Took chem1171-2 online with Dr. Han. While I thought 1172 was much more difficult, he gives you every resource you will need to get an A. Best piece of advice I can give is make sure you know how to do every question on the exam review, and the opposite of that question, or other scenarios of that question. If that makes sense.
This professor is very nice and very good. If you really want to take this class make sure you take it with Mister Han. He is very clear and tests are easy. There are 4 tests, 4 easy papers and weekly quizzes. Take his class if you want an easy A. I would take other classes with him. He is awesome.
I took the online chem-1171 course with him. He encourages students to drop the course from the first day of class and does not care about his students. DONT TAKE.
The only reason I am taking his chem 2 class is because my schedule doesnt align with any one else. Forced to have everything online and this class absolutely sucked. He is awful at explaining and the notes dont correlate with the exams. Ppl mentioning multiple tries..... that doesnt happen. Tried to get a tutor but not able due to covid.
He's a good person but I didn't like his class. Maybe the in-person classes were different but I had to do the online section due to covid. Get ready to do a lot of independent learning - youtube videos, reading the book, talking with other students. The lectures and notes on the classroom were not helpful to me at all.
Is extremely easy to take. Doesnt use mic, so lectures online are cloudy. His exams are extremely close to his sample exam questions. Is willing to help and work with students. Has a study schedule example (something like read, notes, hw etc) to follow which is good for first gen students.
Prof does not take time to answer questions for students in class. Be prepared to completely teach yourself or get a tutor... or both like I did.
I can explain variation in the ratings here. Dr. Han DOES care a ton about students but you have to care about class. If you don't try, don't show up, don't email him Qs, expect to have a bad experience. His study guide for tests are GREAT and he is quick to respond to Qs. He needs a new mic 4 lecture tho and you will have to moderately self teach.
Grades are based off exams, labs, and quizzes, with exams and labs making up the majority of the grade. Labs are incredibly difficult! Exams are straight forward, with no tricky questions. He's helpful to you if you put in effort. Be prepared to teach yourself the material and use the lectures as a place to ask clarifying questions.
Tests are timed (usually around 10 mins per quiz weekly!) labs are not timed but they are kind of difficult. Exams are similar to the practice worksheet and there is not much homework. Make sure to attend all zoom/class meetings!! Easy class
The absolute WORST instructor I've had to date!!! Had Prof. Han for CHEM 0100, he made the class way harder than it should have been. Does not care about you or if you need help. Quizzes right after giving the lecture so no way of learning before testing. Weekly quizzes and lab (that he doesn't go over), 3 Exams (not enough time given to pass).
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! Worst professor Ive ever had at columbus state. Doesnt care about his students or their grades. Quizzes after every lecture. 3 exams that are extremely hard. This professor is not good at teaching nor good at explaining labs. Professor never went over labs so this class was confusing. Please do not take!!
Please Do NOT TAKE. He doesn't explain well and does not care about your understanding. he cares about finishing his lectures. You have to take the quiz just after class so no time for understanding. I always need to rewatch the class to understand. His tests are very hard. There is no way you can know what u missed in a test/exam or quiz.
class was laid out super well. he legit gives you answers and preps you for exams. the study guides are super similar to everything. my only complaint is that he only opens the HW/LAB after lecture and its then due that night SO I had to do it between 4-1159 every Thursday He also calls on you during lecture A LOT. He is a fast replier to emails
Professor Han takes a bit to get used to. When I first started the class, I thought there was no way I could pass this. The class is very test heavy and he is very strict on his due dates. However, there is sample questions provided that are exactly what is going to be on the exams. If you don't study the textbook/lecture videos, you will fail.
I thought he was a great professor, just make sure you listen to the lectures and take notes. Also start practicing the practice questions as soon as you learn the chapters. I struggled the most with Stoichiometry and he helped me with the after class questions.
He is great and perfect, you just need to pay attention in his lectures and you will be fine. He gives revision before the exams. And cares about you.
Great professor, and he wants to see you succeed! As long as you attend class and lab you should do fine, he is willing to you understand even though he comes off a bit stern. Loved the class, he made my first chem class memorable and enjoyable.
barely passed, tries to teach but is condescending, 66% of my class failed almost all exams. teach yourself the material, and do all sample problems and hoemwork. quizlet and chegg for lab and homework! does not lecture.
I never took a chemistry class in high school and was very nervous in the beginning of this class. I ended up taking it online and did just fine! As long as you stay up with the due dates and read the textbook, you'll do great! The exams aren't bad, you can practice with a test bank questions provided. Fast responses to emails, and very helpful!
An awesome class!! I was really nervous to take chemistry but this professor made it so easy!! Stay on top of the due dates and practice the exams with the test blanks and you will do just fine!!!
This teacher was awesome! he does a great job helping students with chemistry,
I took his course only because of the high rates. All lies! This professor is terrible! He's condescending, yells and raises his voice a lot when you don't understand the material which is very triggering. You have to teach yourself the material, and he doesn't explain a SINGLE THING during lab. Please don't take him. I was so disappointed.
EXAM FORMAT IS AWFUL Exams are taken in person on a computer, you get no formula table (You have to memorize them). For questions that require calculations or solving, they are not multiple choice. You will need to type them in instead. This makes it difficult to pass!. You can't even guess, and if your format doesn't match computer you get a 0
Exam format was so bad, a lot of the students failed. Does not teach well, yells a lot, and leaves you wandering during lab having to ask your classmates for instructions on what you should be doing because he does not explain anything. Don't take him.
I genuinely think these reviews are fake. Extremely tough grader would be an understatement, its a gen chem 1 class at a cc, however if youre not a chemist you wont pass. 1st exam, ( 1 person got A-) (1 person got 80% ) ( 3 people scored 70-75) and the rest of the 22 people in class failed!. these stats are posted by him.
Screaming crying throwing up.
1. berated and belittled us for taking an online class. 2. emailed him about possible extra credit, responded with "there will be no such thing as extra credit", and next day yells at entire class screaming NO! and complaining how a student asked for extra credit mind you this was at 9 in the morning.
3. thinks he is doing us a great service by lecturing after lab, while in reality he belittles us and screams at us when we don't know the answer, AND doesn't even show the answer for the problems and when asked "what's the answer", he responds with "we're moving on" very condescending.
Loved his class! I was worried about it since it was my first chem class since high school, but it was relatively easy if you go to class, take notes, and listen to his lectures.
pay close attention to the courses the "good" reviews are from. If you notice, most of the positive reviews are from basic elementary chem classes. If you are taking 1171, 1172, and any higher chem course, boy you better run run run away from this professor.
Professor might actually have the biggest ego I've ever seen. It's so funny how his ego is contested by kids 1/3 his age. Really bad... run away
He locks labs if you're too late, stares at you in class if you show up a bit late, and didn't even have labs planned out sometimes. Not very great at teaching either.
If you participate, actively learn, and study. You will do good in any of his classes. Professor Han is kind, intelligent, informative, and helpful. Highly recommend!
This class was a real challenge. The professor has a strong teaching style that may not suit everyone. Staying engaged and using resources like Unstuck study helped me navigate the demanding exams and labs. Overall, it was a tough but rewarding experience.
He has an accent which is sometimes hard to understand. He also really only reads off of the slides and then lets you do everything else on your own and when you ask for help he will try to explain but again, he's hard to understand.
The class was fine, though it got harder at the end. His accent wasn't too difficult for me. The lectures are mostly just him reading from the PowerPoint slides, but he will add extra explanations when needed. He was helpful in letting me get some extra points to make up for missed labs when my dad passed away near the end of the semester.
Yikes. He did not explain, had to watch videos. Exams were nothing like lectures. Beware....
Good professor! Guys the only reason I got such a low grade was simply due to me not being as productive as I should of been this semester. But honestly the exams are like the practice exams he gives out. So if you study those then you should be fine! He cares and will go over something in class if need be. Would take again.
Gives very easy to understand lectures, problems in class and on the homework and reviews are exactly like the exams, and is pretty friendly/approachable overall. Most importantly he has a plan going in and finishes it on time.
Nice guy, good amount of extra credit too. We had like 8 points extra on the first midterm and then 4 on the second and 8 more on the final and another 15 on top of that. Lectures are good explains well. Just show up and you'll be good. Exams are exactly like the practice he gives. I think a couple were the same even.
His accent was hard for me to understand but I got used to it eventually. Lectures weren't great and labs had nothing to do with what we learned in class. There is optional review that tells you exactly what's on the test question by question. Some of the review was copy pasted onto the test. Lots of extra credit. Do the review and you'll be fine.
Difficult class. Lectures did not provide enough information as for what was provided on the tests--he went over 1/5th of what is on the test vs actual lecture material. Taught much of the lecture to myself. Not much wiggle room as far as points go. EXAM HEAVY. Also makes fun of struggling students in front of the class :/
Class can be challenging, but everything is clearly organized and easy to follow. If you take advantage of the study materials he gives you, you'll be well prepared for every exam. Professor Han is a great teacher who genuinely cares about his students and wants to see everyone pass. I highly recommend taking his class!
I actually quite liked this professor. He has a little bit of an accent so sometimes understanding him was hard. But honestly this professor prepared us really well. He always gave us lots of study materials and literally gave us the exact type of questions we would see on quizzes and exams. You've still got to study though, don't expect an easy A.
Dr. Han is very knowledgable in his area and does a good job of explaining topics simply without overcomplicating things. He does have an accent, but if you are actively listening it is not a problem. Do NOT multitask in class he will call you out on it. He is clear about what he expects and prepares us well for exams. He also grades labs leniently
Provides lots of study materials, little to no feedback on exams and labs. Gives extra credit with the exams to boost grades. Definitely should do work outside of the class to succeed.
Took class despite warnings bc it was necessary. Teacher gives "inspirational" speeches that are about how your life will be ruined if you fail. Will not interact with you unless you are a top performer. Had to change my major in order to graduate after taking this class. Worst teacher of my entire life. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Professor Han is excellent. If you don't have at least a C in his 1171 class, you are not reading the book or are not doing his practice tests b/c he will literally have exam Qs taken from his practice tests. He does explain the material very well and offered our class 16 extra credit points. He will call on students but not push them to answer.
