Prof. Kim is not as bad as the other comments say she is.. she's a little nutty and sometimes difficult to understand because of her accent but, if you go to class and take notes, passing will be a breeze.. attendance does count (super annoying because she calls role) and exams are straight from the notes for the most part.. So far in our third scheduled week of class we have not started on Asia yet. She blew off first week to attend a conference with no advance notice. Last 3 days have been on how to conduct research, way off topic. She spends the class typing onto screen because she refuses to learn about flash memory.

"Why you not have your book?" Make sure you bring it to class and she takes attendance so make sure you're in class altogether. Thick accent, didn't curve a single grade. 4 exams must do well on all of them, none dropped. Avoid if you can, but class was easy so just sit through it and try not to be too offended by her semi-****s remarks.

I don't understand why people are hating on Dr. Kim. She is such a nice lady and her classes are awesome! Yes, sometimes she acts a little weird, but her tests are extremely easy (straight from the notes, DONT BUY THE BOOK!) and she's very helpful. If you come to class and follow her rules, she'll be very nice to you! If you want respect, GIVE IT.

Dr. Kim is not as bad as people are making her sound. Yes attendance is mandatory, yes you must buy the books for CPO 3034. She's a nice lady though and her tests are not bad - directly from the books and mostly from the notes. The class is interesting but sometimes a little boring. We watched a bunch of cool documentaries though. Got a B.

Prof. Kim is fantastic if you don't mind going to class and are there to learn something. Attendance is mandatory & you must study to pass this class. There were two grades outside of exams: one quiz & one homework, majority of grade comes from the 4 exams which are not curved. Final is cumulative. Extra credit is not an option. I ended with a B.

At first I thought I was really going to enjoy this teacher but I was definitley wrong. Its almost like a mini dictatorship in her class, she doesnt own a cell phone so she kicks you out of class when she sees you using yours. Treats students like 12 yr olds and very hard to understand with that accent. Extremely unpatriotic and just overall mean!

Professor Kim is tough to handle. She has a very strong Korean accent. Her lectures consist of typing notes the entire period. There are 4 tests which are unreasonably detailed. Tests are open for less than 16 hours each. Notes are barely readable. Tests ALL have 1min per question time limits. She's forced to teach online but prefers F2F, so online class SUCKS. ZERO understanding of online format. Often ignores emails and complains in class-wide correspondence that we email her too much. Take her F2F or not at all.

Easy A. All the quizzes come from the module notes. Dont really need to read the book only the pages she suggests on the module notes. The final exam are the questions from the quizzes. Three easy papers on what your thoughts are on the subject she suggested.

Professor Kim is not a good teacher your on your own tbh theres 10 quizzes a final and 2 assignments that are easy you should pass with a C at least. She Dosent have manners when she emails people shes a bit mean, and very dry which pissed me off. She needs to learn how to cooperate with students and answer questions instead of ignoring students

Unclear instructions EVERY semester! had her 3 times bc I had no choice and never got better. 10 questions in 10 minutes based off 80+ pages' only one quiz is dropped reaction papers with limited lengths but will deduct points if you don't include the entire history of the Iraq war BUT- all the quiz answers r usually in the module

Directions are not clear sometimes, she only gives 15 minutes to complete 15-question quizzes which by far made this course stressful. Unless you are a quick test-taker, avoid her class. She doesn't relent in anything. Total grade includes 10 quizzes, two assignments (fairly easy), and one final exam that's worth 30% of your grade.

The material in the class itself is not all that difficult, but there is little room for error when it comes to how things are graded. The class is structured as if it's not actually an online course, quizzes make up a majority of the grade, 10 questions in 10 minutes, quizzes only open 24 hours and due at 8am on the due date. Find another prof

I have never rated a professor before but I have to warn you other students of this professor/ class. Very uncommunicative, uncooperative and rude. The structure of this class online is off, so it is easy to miss quizzes. Quizzes are due at 8am on the day that is shown in the Web-courses calendar. Better off finding a different professor.

By test heavy I mean each week you take a 10 minute quiz that has 10 questions. It's not too bad, because the quizzes are usually based on a handout she gives, but the 10 minutes will kill you every time if you have anxiety. She is not a bad professor, but if you need time to take a test, I wouldn't recommend her.

Took during spring 21, so it was online. Quizzes were MC and pretty consistent with the textbook. The final recycled questions from quizzes. 2 writing assignments (a "personal statement" and paper proposal), felt a bit pointless and instructions not very clear, but lenient grader. Not a bad course, but pretty much no interaction with the prof.

Honestly as an online class it's pretty easy idk how he is in real life, but the tests for only available for 10 minutes within 24 hours so beware of that. he gives 3 papers per semester and his TA graded it and they were pretty easy ranging from 600 words to 1000. Literally if you read the otes you'll be fine.

One 10 question quiz every week, you get ten minutes to finish and it is based on the module notes she provides. The Quizes are 5% each, and then you have 3 research papers that are easy but they are also 5% each. The final is all the quiz questions so note the questions after you take the test before they are hidden

Pretty easy class, just a bunch of multiple choice quizzes. 10 questions in 10 minutes is more than enough since 8-9 questions are from modules he uploads and they are very short. I didn't buy the book and passed with an A. Final exam is just question from 12 quizzes with slight tweaks and some new questions. Easy A.

She spent a solid 10-15 minutes every lecture just roasting our generation for always being on our phones or technology. Aside from that though, pretty easy grader and class. Weekly quizzes and 3 Papers, all pretty easy. Easy class, but I learned nothing tbh, and the last 4 or 5 weeks was just watching documentaries because she ran out of material.

Every week you have to read a chapter from the book and a 10 question quiz that comes straight from there. You don't have to go to class, she reads off of her power points and they also come straight from the book. There is a big paper (2000 words) due and it is a self assessment essay.

Professor Kim was great! The class is easy and informative. There are 12 quizzes and 3 reaction papers. Reaction papers have word count requirements that vary. The highest word count maximum is 950. The quizzes come straight from the book and the reaction papers are on videos/documentaries. Professor Kim allowed me to learn a lot!

During the semester I had a family emergency which she was the first to know about, she did not make any exceptions for my situation, which other professors did. She always gave me the excuse that she couldn't do anything because it wouldn't be fair to other students, she made it seem like my situation was an everyday occurrence and didn't care.

I read the book and took notes and even that was not enough information to pass her tests. The notes she puts out are borderline indecipherable and barely help with the weekly quizzes. You have to write a couple reaction papers on various topics which weren't too difficult but they were graded a bit more harshly than expected.

The very first day of class she spent the entire class bashing our gen + the use of technology. I had an emergency that caused me to miss a quiz so I provided everything she wanted but then she pretended like she didnt see it + denied me. I aced all of her assignments but since her grading/due dates are so weird I missed the final and it failed me.

I've taken Dr. Kim for CPO 3034, CPO 4514, and CPO 3103. Don't listen to the other reviewers, they didn't use their resources properly. All 3 are easy A's. Weekly quizzes (10 questions 10 min), and all the answers are in her module summary. 3 500-750 word papers on documentaries that are also easy 90s. To fail you'd need to basically ignore school.

Professor seems so backwards. Only way to get your final grade is by downloading their excel sheet and manually inputting your grades, which results in much more work on both ends. Professor doesn't grade anything, TA's do anyway. Quizzes only open Thursday at 8am to Friday at 8am, so due date shows on canvas calendar as Friday, but you can't do it
