Best teacher ever. Great guy, easy class. He's much more than just a teacher; he's a great help on your way out into the real world.
He is unhelpful, and full of himself....comes off too friendly!!!!
He's freaking great. You have to work in his class, but a really good guy who actually had to work for what he has.
class was very easy, and basically a useless waste of time
Stupid grading system, big fan of himself, seems nice but can be kind of a jerk sometimes. Quizzes are junk. Grades presentations on appearance and woo factor rather than quality, delivery, and content.
I agree so much with the last person that he probably thinks it is me! He was very full of himself... but I have to admit he is a very successful person. His class, however... I definately could have done without. Not one of my favorites by far.
Great Teacher Who Makes The Class Fun But Also Teaches
Absolutely terrible. Took a subject I had once been interested in and ruined it. Unclear, abstract, inconsistent.
This guy is an absolute nightmare. Ethics classes were a series of abstract, inane meetings focused on issues that, even by the loosest definition, had no bearing on the subject. Quizzes might have well been written on string theory and typed in sanskrit.
He was such a nice professor! He even sang for our class at the very end. Just attend class and listen to his lectures and you will do fine
Prof. Mangaliso is the best kind of professor a student can hope to have while they are in college.
Very nice guy. Very infectious personality. Loves to talk, about his experiences. Not conceited. Easy if you don't mind group papers and public speaking. No tests, so grade is based on class participation, and papers.
Great guy. Likes to talk about his experience which are interesting. Classes are informal, but attendance is mandatory. No text book, assigns reading. No tests but group papers and class teaching.
There are professors who are amazing at teaching. There are ones who aren't good at teaching. Mangaliso doesn't teach AT ALL. He makes me miss my english teacher. She was a horrible at teaching, but at least she tried.
Perspectives on leadership was one of my favorite classes at umass. Prof. Mangaliso actually tries to get to know his students. You can learn a lot from this man and from the presentations in class. no exams!
Great personality, terrible teacher. Inconsistent and changing grading standards require mind-reading; textbook is used only as an example of what "not" to do. Feedback is not helpful or consistent; expectations change, are not clearly defined, and guidelines are given last minute. Frustrating and demoralizing. "The nicest man I ever hated."
He's a fine human being but a dreadful teacher. He strays from the book a lot and unless you can read his mind that means that 90% of the questions on the exam he's never gone over in class AND its not in the text book. He tells cheap jokes that aren't funny.
This is the nicest guy I've ever hated. He insists on cookie cutter presentations and papers, discourages creativity, uses strategic frameworks that are completely simplistic and dated (in an MBA-level strategy course), gives contradictory instructions and guidelines for assignments, and does not use valid or remotely fair methods for evaluation.
Mangaliso is a nice guy and has some funny jokes. Although this class was an elective, I was hoping it would not just be "an elective". I really did not learn much of anything from him, only from guest speakers. Assignments and expectations were rarely explained. He likes himself a lot, but maybe he's earned it. He should still give-a-damn. Easy.
Professor Managaliso was a really great person, but sometimes unorganized when it came to the material being presented. Notes on screen didn't always match class's required notes packet. Offered the most extra credit (point wise) of the 3 modules. Overall decent section, easiest Module Exam.
awesomely funny guy. class is really entertaining. you get to watch a bunch of videos like undercover boss which is pretty awesome. his test was the hardest in my opinion.. some of the questions come out of no where. fun class with hard tests but large scales so you can still get an A
worst class i have ever taken, this professor had the hardest test out of the 3. read every single page of the book 3 times and maybe you will do well on the tests. he reads directly off slides and test questions come from no where, good luck
Easily the worst class I've ever taken at UMass. Mangaliso's was the hardest of the "modules," but on all three module tests the questions come from nowhere. Spent hours studying for his test, banged out a top notch study guide, and received a 68 on his test. I'm an A student, but this class is impossible for me to figure out.
This was the worst class I've ever taken. Prof. Mangaliso's "module" was the hardest. The material seemed easy but the exams were completely ridiculous and make no sense. No matter how hard you study, it doesn't make a difference. The exams will be full of trick questions that could have more than one answer. The TAs were not helpful at all.
Worst class ever. Material was easy but exams were impossible. Doesn't matter how hard you study, you can't prepare for the questions. The TAs are not helpful.
I'm sure that outside the context of this terrible, terrible class Mangaliso is a great guy. He was very affable. However, way too much material and that was barely skimmed over. Worst class I have ever taken. It was ironic how poorly structured/organized this class was for supposedly serving as a intro to management course.
HORRIBLE CLASS. Barely skims over slides, makes you buy them as well as the latest version of his book. No matter how hard you study, exams don'y make sense. Often wastes lecture time talking about unrelated thingsextra credit speakers who speak about race. Moves from slide to slide in seconds and jumps around. Seems like a nice guy, bad teacher.
Test don't actually make sense or grade your knowledge. Studied for 7 hours and still received a C- on one exam. He doesn't teach and only has us watch Undercover Boss
Instead of teaching material related to the course topic this teacher spends most of class talking about unrelated material, and will waste the entirety of lecture showing an episode of "Undercover Boss". Tests are unnecessarily hard despite the lack of information given during class, and homework is based off whether you filled in answers or not.
Mangaliso forces you to come to class with mandatory assignments called RFCs. In class he blabbers about unrelated topics and essentially reads off the vague topics that we will need to know for the exam, but then never goes into detail to explain any of it. Exams are impossible. The book would help if you could figure out the chapters you're on.
Nice guy, but this class is all over the place. Spends a lot of time on current events-irrelevant. Barely brushed over stuff that was important on the exams. Grade is made up of entirely exams. 3 midterms and a final. Good news is there is a ton of extra credit and the RFCs you have to do for each class gives you a ton of extra points on exams.
This is one of the most unorganized classes I have ever taken. A class about management and the professor can't even control a classroom, let alone teach any useful information. Going to class is a waste of time but if you skip it'll really hurt you because of the daily homework. Whether you study or not you'll probably get the same grade on exams
Material is interesting enough and the lectures aren't hard to understand. Sadly, the tests are a real buzzkill. I studied 4 hours for one and 12 hours for another and received the same grade. There isn't much you can do to prepare yourself. Just hope you're a good test-taker. I got a B+. Mangaliso is a great guy, but the class is horrible.
Seems like a really awesome guy and makes class fun. You don't really learn too much from the lectures though and the tests vaguely resemble what you learn in class. Read the text book and you will do fine. Online practice quizes are particularly helpful.
Worst teacher I've ever had or seen. Embarrassing that a great school like the Isenberg has him teaching a class. Class consists of Undercover Boss episodes and him talking about racism (nothing to do with mgmt). Went to see 3 TA's who apologized for his horrible teaching and impossible tests. Take this class somewhere else if at all possible.
This is an online course that is mostly group projects. It's awful because you are at the mercy of your group partners. The tests are difficult. I studied for hours and failed. Some of the questions weren't even covered in the chapters the test was on. I am an A student but this class I'll be lucky to get a C.
Perfectly nice guy... But an absolutely hopeless teacher. You HAVE to read the book or it's game over, end of story. And unfortunately, you also have to go to class since his (useless) lectures are required and attendance is weighted pretty heavily. What a huge waste of time.
In theory, this class isn't difficult. The material is clear, and most of the tests are just memorization from the book. However, Mangaliso does not cover most of the material in lectures. Instead, he uses at least 14 of all classes to make you watch Undercover Boss. It's a shame we're wasting our money on that when instead he could be teaching.
Possibly one of the worst classes at umass. Wastes class time watching undercover boss and going on hour long tangents, and never really talks about anything relating to the tests. Even if you study with the online flashcards etc only about half the material ends up being on the test, the rest is all random and up to chance. Avoid at all costs.
Personally, I have to say the professor is a good guy. However, he is really bad about teaching the course. What he discussed at class and what we have to do on the exam are totally unrelated. You have to read all the chapters and attend to class with your clicker. I would never take the class if i had a chance to choose.
Mangaliso is a great professor. He takes the time to get to know students and is always willing to help. He is clear about what will be on the test and does a great job preparing you for it. He gives you practice tests and does review sessions which are very useful. He also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Mzamo is a funny guy but not the greatest professor. You pretty much have to wing the exams and hope you can guess correctly about the abstract management concepts. This class is required so my review likely won't influence anyone's decision. The only other option is to take MGMT 301 online, which I heard is much easier.
Tests are difficult but Professor Mangaliso offers plenty of extra credit to help make up for it. He is really approachable and his lectures are interesting. Brings in guest speakers occasionally.
Unrealistic amount of work each week, grade is dependent on the group. Professor does not provide feedback, and quizzes on material that isn't covered.
He's a really good dude but the class itself is just bleh. Paying attention to the lecture is pretty useless as most of the questions on the tests come from the book. Might as well just use your laptop during class and read the chapters to take notes.
The online class with the group projects is so painful and inefficient. I don't get anything out of it. You're suppose to write a paper in the first week with 5 other people using 4 chapters of a book, yet according to the schedule, the reading is 1 chapter/week. If I didn't have such a great group I'd be sunk in this class mighty quick.
Lecture based class that forces your attendance through sporadic iClicker questions. Often goes off rambling, but I give him some credit since it is such a widespread topic. Not great at conveying the material or drawing attention, and is also a very tough grader on his weekly homework assignments.
Nice guy, horrible professor. Lectures are boring and irrelevant to exams. Thinks highly of self. Exams are 50 random facts straight from textbook. Spent lots of time watching Undercover Boss and Office Space, which is an embarrassment to Isenberg. Very tough grader. Learned nothing. "Offers" extra credit if you donate money or clothes. Avoid!
Lectures are extremely boring and Professor Mangaliso will teach you absolutely nothing. Exams are challenging and had nothing to do with his letures. Very tough grader on the homework assignments but this is probably a class every Isenberg student has to take. They should replace him with a better professor
Absolute garbage professor. Multiple choice exams that each question has multiple right answers. Completely self-absorbed, fails at conveying any information and is unfortunately the only professor for the class in which everyone in Isenberg must take.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Take this class online if you can. Writing assignments are graded harshly, which should be easy 100s. Exams are extremely random. The correct answer could be any of the 4 options. You must pick the one HE wants you to pick. Studied for hours and still got a C. Garbage. Nice guy though.
This should be an easy class, but no, Mangaliso makes this class horrible. Iclicker attendence during every class and he gets MAD when we get the answers wrong when he doesnt teach!!Don't even bother with the tests, you can study all you want, but it won't help. Random questions that you have to get lucky on to get correct. Don't take this!!!
Absolute worst professor in not only Isenberg, but the whole school. A class that most of the kids aren't MGMT majors and everyone is forced to take it. Take it online if possible. Exams are based on which answer fits the best. Meaning all four of the answers are correct. Did not come out of this with any new knowledge. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!
Mangaliso is an terrible professor. His tests consist of 50 multiple choice questions in which all 4 answers could be correct, but you have to choose which one he feels is right. Lectures stink, and he reads right from the slide. His homeworks are simple page long responses and he grades them very tough just because. Take this online if you can.
Mzamo is a great guy and clearly cares about his students but that does not always translate grade-wise. To do well on the exams, get ready to read the online textbook. Material isn't hard, but it's dense. Overall, definitely more work than the other 301s but if you read you should do fine.
Mzamo is an excellent professor that cares a tremendous amount about his students. The class is relatively difficult and extremely textbook/lecture heavy, however, it is very doable if you simply put in the work. He is always willing to go above and beyond for his students; just be prepared to put in a lot of work.
Extremely broad and poorly structured class where you learn a little about lots of things. Studying for the tests is a crapshoot and you're lucky if you cover all the material that will be on them even with the study guides. He is hard to understand and unclear in many ways. Make sure you do all the HW to make up for inevitably low test grades
Do not take this if it isn't required. Mandatory lectures that make no sense and slides that make even less. You'll have to go blind into the exams because anything you study will not be on them. He acts like a saint for giving out extra credit when in reality gave a total of .5 points on your final average. Really nice guy but has a thick accent
He comes off as a nice caring guy and classes are relatively easy along with homework. The tests are nothing like the homework and his slides won't help you, so get ready to memorize 5 chapters at one time with about 100 vocab words. With each question you have to pick the most correct one. He is obsessed with himself and wastes a lot of time.
I studied for all 3 exams with varying levels of effort - ranging from not reading a single word to studying 4 days before the exam date. However, on all 3 occasions I ended up with a 76. Something tells me he just standardizes the scores. Also, go through the practice exam.
Harder class than it should be. Tips: write down all of the in-class i-clicker questions b/c they tend to show up on exams (which are all MC), pay attention as he'll say that certain concepts will be on the exam, skim the book and focus on the terms in margins, and study the ppt slides. written hws are tedious but not hard. Do the extra credit.
Attendance is mandatory but is pointless. He is without a doubt the worst professor within Isenberg. I do not think there is anyway around this course. Tests are very textbook specific. You will not learn a single thing.
Makes you come to class, but doesn't do anything with the class time. Literally talks about nothing for an hour, then rushes through the slides in 5 minutes and acts like we should have learned something. Shows movies instead of teaching. Has panels that literally have nothing to do with the class. Just an awful, awful professor. The worst.
Mr. Mangaliso is the best professor I've met at UMass. He gives numerous opportunities to get an A in the class. Exams fairly reflect what we've learned in class. Invites amazing panelists to discuss certain topics that really help understand the material. Gives a lot of extra credit. Please go to his office hours and get to know him! He's a gem!
Great professor! He's very enthusiastic and cares so much about his students. He has iclicker questions for class. Short writing assignments due every few weeks and 3 exams. Lots of extra credit! He is very intelligent and personable. The exams are easy multiple choice, I study for 1-2 hours. If you do bad in this course its on you.
Mangaliso is a great person to talk to but he is terrible at teaching. A lot of stuff in the exam, ewwww, GROSS. Some teachers are like that; smart, talented, but terrible at teaching, Mangaliso is one of them!
Gives you ample opportunities to raise your grade with extra credit and is very devoted to his teaching. He cares for his students and I believe his rating is so low due to his accent and many people's inability to comprehend his lectures. If you simply speak to him after class, he will clarify whatever you need. Exams are not cumulative
This course was one of the better introductory Isenburg courses I have taken. We had four case studies, worked with the same group throughout the semester, took four relatively easy exams (under 50 multiple choice questions) and read four chapters per case study/exam. There was the opportunity for extra credit. Overall a great class.
The online class is bearable, the tedious quizzes are a pain and the readings are dull. It seems like the online class is an afterthought for him and he put no effort in designing the course.
Even though I got an A, I didn't learn a single thing in this class. Attendance is mandatory even though there's no participation or group work in lectures. The homework and exams are purely based on your ability to memorize rather than understand concepts. If you have to take this class, I recommend taking it with anyone besides him.
One of the most useless classes I've ever taken. Gives you a plethora of business terminology and theories that have no usable application or any real meaning behind them and then expects you to memorize them all. If you're good at memorizing endless amounts of vocabulary, definitions, and acronyms you'll do alright, otherwise prepare to study.
You do not learn anything from this class, it is all pure memorization. For exams he provides the study guide, you just gotta memorize them and do the practice exams and go over the powerpoints. The work load is manageable, RFCS and case studies- but feels kinda pointless. He is a great guy but not a great teacher.
Worst class I have ever taken. Attendance is mandatory when going to class you dont learn a thing. Gives a study guide before the test, but nothing you see on it will be on the test. Did an extra credit paper that I grinded out on a friday night only to get a 0-10 -like what. Exams are 60% of the grade, so if you do bad on the exam youre screwed.
He is as bad as the reviews say. The online class is like his side hustle. He puts no thought into it. Sometimes I have to email multiple times just to get a vague response or the usual "I will revert on this..." ?? Even though I have done decently well, I think the quizzes were much harder than the practice tests.
This professor is very passionate about his work and it can be felt when hes teaching his classes
I got say I had him during spring 2020 and he was pretty good, the exams take like 30 minutes and are free A's, the most work is 4 case studies due monthly and the homework people complain about on here are a maybe 7-minute distraction, you get a button on them "check work" that has no limit that guarantees a 100 with no critical thinking. 9/10
The exams are tougher, but there's a lot of extra credit you can do to add to your overall grade so it evens out. Lectures are boring but there is an iClicker portion. Mzamo means well but can be a bit odd and silly. I didn't learn a lot about mgmt overall but it' not a bad class. It's not indicative of the rest of the mgmt major - it gets better.
Doesn't want to see his students succeed, goes out of his way to trick you
Okay this class was hard for no reason at all. The only time this class runs is at 8:30am and attendance is very much mandatory. There are three exams throughout the semester and even if you study absolutely everything, you will most likely get a C. He is truly writing the exams so they trick students. He seems like a nice guy, but needs to chill
literally the worst class i've ever taken. lectures are so long and boring, he goes off topic a lot. practice exams and study guide have nothing to do with the lecture and then the exam topics are even more things we didn't learn. iclicker attendance is mandatory and it counts for a lot of your grade. at 8:30 am I often fell asleep in class. AVOID!
Very nice and funny guy, seems fine. However, the exams are written in a way that really tries to trick students. The content itself isn't too tough, but the way he writes questions is confusing and misleading. I would've gained a lot more from this class if I wasn't so stressed about learning for the exam and instead could have taken in content
Hardest class ever. Exams were hard, practice exams were not helpful at all. Test questions were very different from practice exam questions with tricky questions. Never in my life will ever take this class ever. Classes were meaningless, didn't learn anything. Just reading off the PowerPoint.
I'm not sure if this class is any better in person, but online is a nightmare. I didn't learn anything from his lecture videos and he is inaccesible by email, and so are his TAs. Some exam questions come out of nowhere and make no sense. I had no connection to anything in this class and felt so lost the whole time, good luck to anyone taking this.
Easily one of the worst professors I've ever had. Seriously. I don't know how he's still teaching this class. Even a peanut can make this class more engaging. Changes grading criteria and assignment due dates last second. Don't expect any serious help if you reach out to him by email. Teaching a management class but can't manage a class.
He means well, but hes not a great professor. You don't really learn anything, it's basically all just memorizing vocab. He hands out a pretty hefty study guide before the exams, but there were always questions on the exams that were nowhere to be found in the study guide and are meant to trick you.
Seems like a chill guy, I would definitely grab a beer with him. Management 301, on the other hand, is not a good class. It is just regurgitative learning. There are so many pointless definitions and acronyms, I had to create acronyms to keep track of acronyms. There is no need to confuse intuitive topics with vague vocab.
What he teaches in classes are not related to the exams, exams are too hard.
I have never once hated a professor as much as I hate this man. His lectures are pointless, his tests are horrid, and his assignments (not the Connect homeworks) are difficult. I am convinced Mzamo wants students to fail. He doesn't teach then expects us to learn from his awfully worded powerpoints. I genuinely don't know how he still has a job.
His actual exams are nothing like the practice exams, they are very hard. He doesn't respond to emails, neither do his TA's. I wouldn't recommend taking this class with this professor, even if you put in the work, you still don't do well, especially online.
The exams arent free As. Wording of some exam questions usually more confusing than necessary. Crazy amount of terms from the textbook to memorize, and terms that arent in the textbook that he mentions maybe once in lecture. Take a lot to get an A, but its possible if you study weeks ahead of exams because the amount of terms to memorize.
Taking an online class where the professor won't respond to emails has been incredibly frustrating. No lectures or assignments provided other than 4 group projects and 4 quizzes. He has provided almost no feedback. Assignments are often released late/don't follow the timeline on the syllabus so it can be difficult to plan.
This professor barely knows the material that he is teaching. He reads off slide, and does not explain material well. He is unorganized, and constantly is making mistakes, and releasing materials late. He is hard to reach, and when you reach him, he usually does not answer your questions. He relies heavily on his TAs and has no place being a prof.
Took this class remote so it was pretty hard to get interested but Mzamo is a super caring professor and his TA team is helpful. Tests can be pretty difficult if you aren't paying attention the rest of the time so go through the lectures at least once
Having this professor for Management 301 was not a fun time. The class was a slog and was taught in a mediocre fashion and with little enthusiasm.
I took this class remotely, and it was by far one of the worst classes Ive taken. The professor just reads off his slides, the exams are filled with trick questions, and the group projects were so unfair. He has one person write up an essay for everyone. Not to mention his videos/lectures were incredibly boring and hard to watch.
Mr. Mangaliso is a nice guy but the class was very unorganized. I attended the class in-person and I swear we never started on time. As some stated he just read from the slides and come exam review time he'll say he went over certain things that I swear we never touched on.
Worst class I taken here at umass. Over all he is nice but unorganized. I would always attended the class in-person and Class was never started on time. As that attendance was taken though iclickers which he didnt know how to use which would take up a lot of class time. Things on test were never mentioned in class but he expected us to know.
Good look getting any assistance or extensions by this professor. The class is characterized by group projects with confusing submission procedures as well as droning lectures with the professor going off on rants. The TA's for this class were rude and slow to assist. The only saving grace of this class was the extra credit assignments
A very difficult class that I have got The lowest Grade ever, the exams have questions not related to the text, and the practice exam just help a little.
I didn't find this professor to be as bad as everyone says. The group projects suck, but he does a fairly good job keeping it fair by pro-rating everyone and with the peer evals. He is arrogant, but I guess when your CV looks like that you've earned a little bit of arrogance. The tests were easy if you read the chapters.
Attendance isn't always mandatory in 300 person lectures, but his is as he will incorporates things he only talks about in lecture onto the exams. The exams were a bit difficult as well. It's not so much Miami's fault that this class was bad, because the martial is hard to make interesting, but he's all over the place sometimes.
I'll start off by saying he seems like a very nice guy. But oh my lord is he an awful professor. Lectures are mandatory but absolutely useless. He just paces around going on tangents and reading off practically useless slides. Exams are oddly worded and there's an unnecessary amount of regurgitated vocab from the book. Overall, very unorganized.
He seems nice enough but his class is awful. He is always so off topic and chaotic going over lecture slides. Very apparent he does not prepare for his classes. Assigns group projects designed to result in an unfair distribution of work all for the same grade. Tests aren't too bad but some of the questions used information not in our materials.
This professor was absolutely terrible. I would recommend taking it with absolutely anyone else. online course with only group work. tests were hard and had material not even learned. tons of reading required. grading and expectations not clear. not online or responsive yet expects you to be very active online. no lectures explaining the material.
A fully online group project course seems counterintuitive because it is. If you get members that suck (which you inevitably will), be prepared to do most of the work. Luckily, he pro-rates grades based on participation. There is very little actual teaching in this course. He provided little guidance and his procedures were sometimes confusing.
He goes really fast and teaches pretty useless material that is different than what's on his exams. The course isn't too hard but it is surely not fun.
Mangaliso gets a bad rep for no reason. He can stray in lectures occasionally, but is not a bad professor by any means. Him teaching a useless class does not make him a bad professor. Management is just a completely useless material that he is stuck teaching. His stories were always entertaining and the conversations he posed in class were good too
No clear grading guidelines. Will try to dock you down just so you won't receive a perfect score. Likes to bold texts in red and blue for no reason. He doesn't lecture, he just posts the licensed textbook slides. Expects you to fill in an excel template with ratios for financial analysis without going over how to do it. Avoid this guy.
Course didn't match course description at all. First assignment was the exact same as Principles of Management. Mostly group projects with no grading rubric so grading felt random. Multiple choice quizzes had questions from chapters that hadn't been covered yet. Projects also had elements that hadn't been covered yet.
This course epitomizes why college is a scam; We are forced to buy McGraw-Hill Connect to do the homework where the questions legitimately consist of things such as The _ is the head of a company; A.) CEO... It is despicable that a junior/senior level course is so pathetic, zero learning is done, the assignments are trash, Isenfraud School for real
This guy sucks. His class sucks. Dont take a class with him.
This class is useless. The professor makes the exam way harder it should be for this type of class. Everything is pretty much common sense, and I'm not sure why I need to spend almost $100 on a useless textbook.
he doesn't teach in class. he reads off slides very quickly and then goes on random tangents. he expects you to know things that were never brought up in class and tests you on them. if attendance weren't mandatory, it would be easier to go through the slides on my own in peace. hes a nice guy with an interesting backstory, just an awful professor.
He's a good guy and a good professor teaching an absolutely useless filler course. This class is literally just buzzwords and the material looks like its based off ted talks from psychopathic CEOs.
The lectures are impossible to follow and are oftentimes run by guest speakers. There is little work to do on a week-by-week basis, but doing poorly on the three exams will hurt your grade. Professor Mangaliso is basically impossible to reach outside of class via email. I would highly recommend against taking this class if there are alternatives.
He's really sweet and funny. lots of opportunity for extra credit. only annoying thing is attendance mandatory w iclicker and expensive textbook hw software
This guys was a joy to be around. He honestly doesn't really talk about the subject all that much, but the lectures are always fun to go to. You can just tell he's a really genuine and sweet man, and if you are struggling, if you just talk to him, he wants to give you a good grade. Don't listen to the haters.
Such a kind professor! I Really enjoyed being in this class I felt as though he really cared about the students and wanted all 500 of us to succeed and did everything he could to engage class participation to make it a fun learning environment. will miss this class!
He would go on random tangents during class and very rarely actually used class time well. He brought up random topics every class that had nothing to do with the material, such as rape, prison, 9/11, and Hiroshima. I didn't learn anything and felt like I was wasting my time.
Nice guy but lectures about random material. tests are confusing with multiple correct answers. Goes off topic every class
His teaching methods are rather unorthodox, and this class was pretty stressful to take online because of the collaborative component, but it was honestly alright. He teaches it like a Management 301 course and does 5 cases with a group analysis and 3 quizzes. Offers a bonus case if you miss one or want to improve your grade!
Broken down into 4 quizes (not cumulative), covering 4 chapters/time, 40-60 items per chapter, quizes only have 40 questions. EXTRTEMELY complex things to remember. The first quiz was said to only be on chapter 1-4, but included things from Chapter 5. For each quiz you're supposed to remember between 160 and 240 concepts and use them logically.
I'm assuming the exams suck from what I've read. Only been a week and I don't enjoy this class. Wouldn't recommend.
This guy litty. Class is fire. Bro is so tuffy and the exams are mad easy
The professor can be hit-or-miss, but using Unstuck study alongside the free textbook helped me stay on top of the complex concepts. Attendance is mandatory, so engage in class if you want to do well.
Aside from the point that he says some wild things from time to time such as "if a man walked into your house with a g*n and asked where your dad was what would you do?" His teaching style consists of reading off a powerpoint. He's a nice guy so I wont slander him more, but for a class about efficiency its the most disorganized class ive ever taken
His lectures, assignments, and exams are very confusing. The exams have information that doesn't seem to be discussed in lecture. Attendance is required at the lecture. There are group projects that have very confusing instructions.
An extremely disorganized class, which is ironic for a management class. Exams are confusing and have many things not discussed in class. Group projects are confusing with conflicting instructions.
Kind of disorganized and you're expected to learn most of the material outside of lecture because it feels like he rambles through most of it. The homework allows you to check your answers and the cases are pretty easy to understand.
This class was a joke. The professor had absolutely no business teaching it. The practice exams were entirely different than the actual exams. You have to go to every single class or your participation grade takes a hit and its wroth 20% of your final grade. Genuinely a complete waste of my time.
hes a good dude, just out of tune with his students. hasnt shown total grades all semeseter, and a TA had to tell me what my grade was. Took a final last week ON canvas and it still isnt graded. Wont give extra credit, and is super specific when it comes to giving out points. Online exams during an 8:30am class time is ridiculous. wouldnt takeagain
so weird. online exams, online work. class just is so buns. definitely not too hard but wow
Required lectures, online quizzes, in person/online tests depending on how the prof feels abt the students. Class is disorganized and the group project instructions are confusing and not very straightforward. Mzamo is a nice guy, but its just a hard class to follow when i'm being graded on my memory of an undercover boss episode.
Don't take, it's a snooze fest.
an absolute dumpster fire of a class, which is ironic given the content covered. mandatory attendance for lectures where you can expect to learn nothing thanks to the unclear slides; exams that change formats based on how he feels about students; regular group projects that could be individual discussion posts. terrible experience.
Class is a joke, teaches kindergarten-level concepts with fancy words. And the exams are sometimes online or in person, depending on how the professor feels that day. Don't take this class.
Professors switched halfway through the course. Everything is extremely confusing and is a complete snoozefest to be in especially with attendance mandatory. Cared so much about the online exam and potential cheating that the final is in person, would be better if the content was organized.
Imagine a class where your exams are wordy and riddled with typos, where assignments are posted late and due day of. That's MGMT 301. It's hard not to question how someone who claims expertise in management can struggle to manage their own class.
This class is an absolute joke. Profs offer unclear instructions, slides are useless & lectures are a snoozefest. Weekly assignments, mini group projects and exams the last of which they switched to an in-person format and was riddled with typos and errors. Do not take this class.
complete joke of a class. taught by management professors who can't manage a single aspect of their class. the material is outdated, irrelevant, and a complete waste of time. my advice to Isenberg students: take an equivalent for this class at a community college - you'll save time, money, and the frustration associated with this class
Dropped my business minor after taking this class. What a mess.
This class lacked clear structure and expectations. The case studies were often confusing, and in my group I ended up completing most of the work. The exams felt inconsistent, and the final was changed from online to in-person with only two days' notice, which was difficult to adjust to.
