Great teacher. A little quarky, but makes things so easy to remember. Weekly, ten question quiz that you use to study for the tests. Learned a lot. He's so funny too. I give him an A+

nick is the best sci. teacher we have at nvc his history speaks for itself. if u wanna get a university level lecture with a small class and a lot of really interesting information i recommend any class with nick. i hate science but he makes it very easy to understand.

I've learned more about Science (ALL Sciences) from Delillo in 2 months than I EVER have in my 28 years of living! Because of him, I'm even considering changing my major--he's that AWESOME!

This professor has got to be the best I've ever had! He's extremely friendly and funny, his classes are all very entertaining. I look forward to going to his classes at the beginning of the week! He's from Brooklyn and his character is colorful and entertaining... he really makes science interesting and fun... and he REALLY knows his stuff! :)

He is a great teacher, keeps you interested in the class, He gives some extra credit when you needed it the most, study your notes and you will do fine in this class.

Great Prof! He's very clear and informative; has a NY accent; and he is passionate about his field. His enthusiasm for science is CONTAGIOUS! Be warned though: he is not a fan of the Bible's viewpoint of creation. He tends to find stories to ridicule it. BUT, if you can get past that, he is one of the BEST on campus!

Nick is by far the BEST teacher! He's so helpful, and you can definitely can tell how passionate he is about teaching. He tries to keep everything simple so everyone can understand. I definitely recommend him!! Not to mention, he's so incredibly funny!

He keeps you very interested...You have a quiz every week that covers the two classes before....If you study you will do good..He's very helpful and loves hes job...take him if you get a chance or you can ask him to place you in the class is it's full...TAKE HIM!! Dr. Delillo is a wonderful instructor! He makes the lectures interesting and loves class discussions, which may go slightly off topic, but not for long. He likes hearing what his students have to say and encourages you to think critically. Oceanography: we just took notes and had a weekly quiz. Takes time to make sure the class understand material.

Awesome professor. Loves his job and is an expert on astronomy. weekly quizzes on previous weeks lectures and drops 2 lowest grades. Quizzes are short answer and only 10 questions. you have a midterm and final, both multiple choice. 10 extra credit pts for going to SAC planetarium. Teaches from notes only, so do not waste money on book.

AWESOME TEACHER helps with everything you ask about and has the funniest way to relate the the subjects he teaches.No textbook required, it is optional if you want to do the reading.

EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE. Definitely knows what he is talking about. Class does require textbook reading though if you pay attention to the lectures and take notes you should be OK without having to use a textbook. Quizzes once a week. He's funny and entertaining.

Made me LOVE astronomy and I learned so much about the universe even though I got a B I would take him again.Attendance is crucial as he gives examples that are very helpful but DO NOT buy the book!I did not even open it during the semester.He is very passionate because he wants everyone to learn about the universe on a higher level.

GREAT teacher if you're terrible in science. Makes sure you know what's going on at all times. You must go to class because he gives important examples for the quizzes. Make sure to look over all notes before quizzes. Do NOT need book. Don't buy it. He made me really enjoy science. Take him for sure!

Prof. DeLillo is fantastic. He really knows what he is talking about. Astronomy is fascinating when he explains it. He's makes sure everyone understands. He appreciates people who speak up, especcially in answering his questions (right or wrong). He's very reasonable. No homework, but weekly quizes (for me). Study as much as you can. Fun course!!!!

WONDERFUL teacher! this man knows his geology. i ABSOLUTELY HATE science and now i find that i have taken two of his classes and about to take another, and i dont even need another science class! its the first time i think i have ever truly learned at NVC

This Professor is the best for Astron, Phys Geol, & Oceanography. This guy can help you understand science & make it easy for anyone who has trouble with science.Attending class is a must of course, but you can probably skip some days. I highly recommend this Professor for science classes, but don't take my word for it, try him out yourself.

The best class I will ever take!!! Terms were explained with clarity. Any questions were handled with a cool, professional manner. He is very patient. Quizzes made you think, but not impossible to make an A in. The book is so much more complicated. All you need are Dr. Delillo's lecture notes.

Class was fun, discussions were interesting, he encouraged outside learning, presentations were good, but if you miss class it was hard to catch up. Weekly quizzes were fill-in-the-blanks and challenging, mid-term/final multiple choice based on quizzes, a little easier and heavily weighted. Good class!

I was NOT interested in Geology before this class. Mr. Delillo is a great teacher! Yes, you have a quiz once a week, but it forces you to attend class and study. You will not be bored in his class!

Totally awesome instructor. Goes on little rants pretty often and shares his opinion openly, but presents things as his way of reasoning rather than just saying "THIS IS SO!" He's a cool guy, I recommend him. :)

Amazing teacher. I have read books about the universe before but he taught it in a way that I could understand. He presented the material in a way that anyone(who actually tried) could have passed this class. He encouraged us to ask questions and we ended up 2 weeks behind; however, he prefered to discuss than lecture. Will be taking him again

This is the best class I have ever been in. You don?t need the book. You understand concepts and theory?s the first time he teaches them. Don?t miss any class because you have a quiz every week; but don?t let that scare you away. The quizzes are easy, if you pay attention.Try to take his ocenography and astronomy class together, they tie in.

I took his Oceanography class and loved it! He is a great and ideal professor. Lectures every class, and quizzes each week, but they are easy if you just look over your notes. I study usually 10 mins before and get 100 :) Don't buy the book unless you want to read it yourself, there is no need. He always makes sure you understand before moving on

I love this teacher!! He is my favorite teacher at NVC!!! He has also received a NISOD Excellence Award for being such a great teacher in 2008. He explains the material until you understand the concept. He makes the class enjoyable and fun to learn. Weekly quizzes, mid term, and final. As long as you pay attention and show up you should do fine.

Dr. D was a great teacher. He made Geology so interesting and enjoyable. Biggest key to doing well in his class is to go to class and take lots of notes. His quizzes are right from your notes. You have to put forth an effort to do well but honestly his teaching style and material were well worth the time! I would definitely take him again!

Dr. Delillo is a true professional and a genuine teacher. He should be at Yale. He cares about his students, what he is teaching, and the quality of education you receive. As long as you come to class and pay attention you WILL get an A. Best of all, you will laugh a ton in the process. He is down to earth and funny as heck.

BEST TEACHER AT NVC!! Because of him I decided to minor in Geology at Texas State University. Show up and pay attention and you will be fine... If you have the opportunity to take any one of his awesome classes, do it; you will not be disappointed. One of the greatest professors I've had thus far! He has a vast amount of knowledge and is so passionate about his teachings. He explains things until you get it, and is there to help. Dr. Delillo is the best teacher I have ever had. I hate science and thought METEOROLOGY would be the most interesting of the choices. He made it fun,interesting, and easy to learn. He is prepared and is very passionate in his teaching, out standing professor. I would take another one of his classes in a heart beat.

Awesome class, lots of fun! There are weekly quizzes but if you show up to class they are very easy. If you don't understand something just ask and he'll clarify, Likes to have fun in class. Some jokes are a bit corny, laugh anyway it makes him feel better!

Dr. Nick was great. He helped me when I really needed clarification, although he tried to do that during class as well. He offers help thru the tutoring office, although he'll explain anything 10 different ways if you need it and just ask. Funny, fun, and interesting.

Dr. Nick is a great professor and one of the best I've had. He is truly passionate about science and has a way of making you feel that way too. Class was always entertaining and he has a great sense of humor. You can't go wrong taking one of his courses.

Dr.D is a great professor. His class is interesting and has a great teaching strategy. You will learn in class. I took astronomy with him during the summer. He quizzes every week and drops the lowest quiz. The book is useful but notes are way more useful. He repeats what he intends to put in the quiz. He prepares you, but you must attend his class.

How anyone can claim his class is tough, I have no idea. He teaches really well, he reviews all questions before a quiz. Its all easy. Cheesy jokes and he knows it but at times are funny. If you score low or fail, its cause you weren't trying.

Dr.D is the man to go to for all things geology. His class is informative and he teaches old school, as he uses the board and the overhead. While writing notes, he clearly lets you know what is important or not. He is funny and will keep the class interesting at all times. only test is the final and midterm and its all multiple choice :-D

Best professor I've had. You don't need the textbook. As long as you show up to class every time, take good notes, there is no way you can fail. He has a way of teaching that is very effective as long as you make the effort to be invested in the course.

Finished up another course with Delillo, and as expected he is still the best professor at this school. No exaggeration. Pay attention to what he says and show up for class. He makes a point to emphasize what you need to know for quizzes and tests. There's no reason not to pass his courses.

Professor Delillo is an absolutely brilliant man. His lectures are extremely informative and entertaining, and he is very passionate about Astronomy and Geology. This professor is everything a student can ask for. He takes his students needs seriously and makes every attempt to ensure the majority of his class understands the material. He gives daily quizzes so you do need to study but its well worth it!!!!

He is the greatest professor I've ever had the pleasure of having. He's so engaging and he actually cares deeply about his students passing. I love that Dr. D would say silly things here and there to keep us engaged in learning. He was always up front with what he expected and always gave us the chance to get extra credit points in our quizzes (even if I never got them, :) ). This was my favorite class this semester. He makes the class so interesting. I definitely learned more in this class than I expected to. I am taking him again for astronomy next semester.

He was AMAZING. Knows everything about Astronomy and is super interesting and fun! You have to study, read, and take notes. Other than that, not much is required. No essays or projects. I LOVE him, wish I could take him for something else. He made me interested in our Solar System and I loved going to class, instead of dreading it.

He literally was the best professor I've had. He is hilarious and if you just study your notes and listen, you'll have no problem passing. It is an easy class but you do have to work for your A. One quiz once a week and then the midterm and final, other than that, you just sit back and listen to the awesome lecture!

Made oceanography interesting and easy to understand. Provided a various and grand amount of details through presentations. There's weekly quizzes, but they get pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

One of my personal favourite profs. I've taken both his oceanography and astronomy classes and what everybody has said is true. The classes consists of lectures and weekly tests but they are not anything to stress about once you get the hang of it. There's no book involved at all either. He's passionate about his classes and it shows tremendously.

I didn't expect this class to become my favorite but the way Delillo taught the class made it so interesting. You can tell that he really knows his stuff and cares a lot about what he is teaching. Quizzes every week which is easy if you just take notes and show up because he tells you what he is going to put on the quiz.

One of the best profs here. 12 quizzes with 2 dropped, all of which are based off the notes on his Powerpoints. Provides extra credit questions on them and on the midterm/final. His lectures are great and he makes learning geology so much fun! The material intersects between some of his classes so the more you take with him, the easier it gets.

Good science class. Quizzes are weekly and not easy, but he tells you how to study for them. No outside homework besides studying for quizzes and tests, but still take a few hours before quiz and test day to review everything. Very knowledgeable.

I took oceanography and I am bad at science. He made it easy, understandable, he follows a routine that makes it doable and able to follow. He keeps us engaged, he's funny and probably my favorite teacher of the semester. He's great, ps I took this class over zoom.

It has been nearly 7 years since taking Proof Delillo's ASTRONOMY class and I am still fascinated on just how much I learned and retained. Every Celestial event, meteor shower, or just a clear night I look up and smile remembering how fun and engaging his class was. Thank you for being an awesome and caring professor Mr Delillo!
