Good professor grades hard but only to make you work hard. If you are active and willing to learn you will do fine in the class.

I emailed my professor at 2 or 3 am all the time and he would respond in 10 to 15 minutes. He doesn't sleep literally. He is always ready to help you outside of the class. He is passionate about he does. If you actually put in effort you can receive an A.

Very helpful in lab, only cares that you understand the lab objectives, not about your writing skills. Good sense of humor, brilliant professor.

If you ever have questions, he is more than willing to help at any time (He will even respond to your emails at 3am). He holds Friday workshops on his day off so students can get extra help, work ahead, and become better programmers/engineers. His tests and quizzes are tough, but if you put in the work then you will do great.

Not the easiest prof, but by far the most willing to help. Stays up all night answering emails, and keeps long office hours. Lectures are fast, and the exams are brutal. That said, he'll do everything he can to get you the grade you deserve. Highly recommend.

He offers a work shop on Friday mornings which is really helpful if you go to, and he will work with you on grades and really cares about how his students are doing. I enjoy the fact that this Professor gives chances and he understands. I don't talk much in class but he still looks out for the students that are doing the work. Best instructor I have taken at gvsu. Very good at teaching coding. Don't be scared by the hard pop quizzes, they are heavily curved. Just make sure to put forth a good effort and you will get a good grade.

His lectures move very quickly but I think I learned more in his class than I have in any other and not just about the course. He often includes tidbits of life advice that will make you a better engineer. He is not an easy professor, but if you go to his office hours, ask him questions, and participate in class, he will help you tremendously.

Always go talk to him about grades, hes very good about fixing grades. He is always available, in person or by email. He has very detailed slides/handouts that were very helpful, because of these I didn't need to read the lecture notes. Lots of material, do the work and you will be fine. He makes little mistakes on the board, so bring them up.

Professor Kandalaft is the best engineering professor at GVSU (no offense to any other professor). He makes himself available more then any other professor and genuinely cares if you do good. Attending class is very important because he explains things better then any online or material reading can, take him if given the chance.

Dr. Kandalaft is one of the best professors I've had so far in college. He cares about the growth and the interest displayed by students in his class. As casual as he makes the material seem, the material is difficult but he is always willing to help when asked.

I've taken him for two classes now, and both times he cared very much for his students. He doesn't truly care about your grade, he cares if you understand. If you understand, you pass, easy as that. Fantastic guy who is available for help almost 24/7. I've emailed him at 3 in the morning and got a response 5 min later.

Dr. Kandalaft is very generous when it comes to grading if you can show your thought process. Do not expect to get free points, he likes to see real effort. If you get a bad score talk to him in office hours. He will get you back on track. I am having a great time even though this class is challenging for me.

You will not be able to breeze through class without much effort. Assignments and tests will be difficult. If you are used to getting easy A's, you will have a hard time adjusting. That being said, you will still receive a fair grade. Dr. Kandalaft is very knowledgeable and will work very hard to help you succeed.

However, this shouldn't be an issue because he is very engaging. Kandalft is a solid choice for 226. I'm a ME so this class wasn't up my alley but he made it really fun. There were quizzes every week and those took awhile to get use to but once you do they aren't too hard at all. The only thing is that he ALWAYS lectures past class time. Probably an average of 10 minutes over class every time.

Nabeeh was an excellent professor. He explained complex ideas in coding and digital systems in a way that even ME students could understand. No exams other than the final, no homework, but big on quizzes. Keep up with the lectures and show that you're trying. One of the best professors at GVSU. Grades are based on the Hard work and effort you put in course rather than just going with your letter grade from exams. Always like to spend extra time with students to make them understand the concepts and clarifying doubts. Really felt great working on my Master's project under his guidance and support.

If you can take him 100% do it. He is the most caring and passionate prof I have met. He will stay in the building for hours until you understand a concept if you ask him for help. He does all of the labs himself before coming to class so he really knows how to help. There is a slight communication barrier but if you are patient it will pay off.

Cares a great deal about his students, if he likes you and can see that you're putting in effort he'll probably pass you, and if you're already passing he'll bump your grade. His lectures are fantastic and he works very hard to make sure his students understand the material. Great stories and very funny! No exams but weekly quizzes instead.

Quizzes are extremely tough and the class is confusing until the lab portion. Be prepared to answer questions during lecture you don't know and get ready to embarrass yourself with a wrong answer. He gives very good and entertaining lectures but most of the time the information was too much too fast. His personality make s the class fun.

Professor Kandalaft is one of the most caring professors I have had. He is ALWAYS accessible outside of class and willing to help. If you put in an honest effort and show that you respect him, he will work hard to get you the grade you need.

Nabeeh is an awesome professor. He really does care for his students and wants them to succeed. If you think this a show up and pass class your wrong. It's a lot of work. But if you have respect for this class and Nabeeh, you'll be fine. P.S. If he tries to make a bet with you, say no. You will lose, and have to owe him a coffee.

Nabeeh is awesome as a person and as a professor. He truly cares for his students and wants them to learn the material and not just memorizing. Quizzes are tough but go back and learn the right answers so you know for the future. Highly recommend taking him for EGR 226 lecture and lab. You won't regret it!

Dr. Kandalaft is the professor you want to go to if you really want to learn the material. He will be tough on you when it comes to quizzes and the final project, but trust me when I say it's for the best. If you are a CE or EE, you will learn a lot from him and he will push you to do your absolute best. 10/10 would have him for any class possible.

Great professor. Very knowledgeable about the material. Will make the time outside of class to help you fix problems in your code and to succeed in the course. Gives quizzes just about every other class that can be difficult. If you put the time into the class, and show that you are giving your best, you will receive a quality grade in the class.

Nabeeh genuinely wants all of his students to learn. Great sense of humor. Anyone who says he's unfair is lazy. His quizzes will destroy you if you aren't actively studying for them because there isn't always enough time to do them. I feel like the feedback he gives on assignments could be better. But he's definitely the best EGR226 prof at GV.

He's a great professor and is really knowledgeable in his field (mainly EE). His quizzes suck and you won't have enough time even if you study but pay attention in lecture and practice outside of class and you'll be fine. Be very clear and concise with questions because he tends to get impatient if you get caught up on words. Have thick skin...

Prof. Kandalaft is a firm but fair professor. He genuinely cares about the class learning the material and will go to extra effort to make that happen. If you work hard and show him that you care he will work with you.

One of the best professors in Grand Valley's Engineering program. He is an amazing professor that truly cares about his students that work hard. The best engineering professor at Grand Valley. Make sure to take him for EGR-226. I wish I could take more classes with him but I am a mechanical engineering student.

Dr. Kandalaft was an amazing prof. His class is a very hard one as it is, but he wants everyone to succeed. There are weekly quizzes that are worth most of your grade, but they are only there to help you. Pay attention in class and see him in office hours and you should have no problem getting a good grade in the class.

Great teacher, always willing to help if you put in work. Loves to help with projects, and encourages creativity and independent thinking. Worst part is he always tries to convert students to convert to electrical and computer engineering, but his lectures are the best in the department.

I really enjoyed Dr. Kandalafts class. He gave very good explanations and used many real world metaphors when comparing the concept at hand with something simpler. He can be a jokester sometimes and digress from the lecture with a few of his anecdotes.

He's the best GVSU's Engineering program has to offer. He inspires everyone to work the hardest and encourages his students to push themselves harder. I would recommend every Engineering student to take him at least once.

Prof Kandalaft would often breeze through lectures, especially at the beginning, but he always explained well with good examples and would always clarify if asked. All the homework he assigned was graded on participation, which was clutch. Exams could be tough, but they were straightforward and not too bad if you study well for them. Overall great.

Kandalaft is definitely not a traditional teacher - which is refreshing. He has a mix of academic and professional experience which complements his caring demeanor. Make sure to go to him with concerns about your grade - I have never seen a professor so willing to work with you on a fair grade. He inspires students to think as engineers.

This class was so ridiculously hard for me and Professor Kandalaft was so extremely helpful and understanding. I can't imagine taking this class with a different professor. If you are struggling it is so important to take initiative to get help and show effort, and he will give you that help.

Dr. Kandalaft is the best professor I have ever had. I was in his 227 lab and honestly I miss it so much. Every week I was excited to go in, he made labs so low stress and fun. He has high expectations and he is hard on you, but he will do everything possible to help you reach those heights . He loves teaching and it really shows.

To be honest, I did not like him the first half of the semester because I didn't quite understand his personality and it didn't mesh well with mine. This class is difficult, but professor Kandalaft is a great professor. It is obvious that he cares and will go out of his way to help students. I learned a lot from his lectures, I found them very helpful. If you have a question, he responds very promptly by email. The labs take a ton of time and effort, but going through it will teach you so much.
