Atique is probably one of the greatest calc teacher at ohlone. take him! you wont be sorry!
This is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and I have had a lot. I feared taking calculus but this teacher made learning calculus easy and fun. Calculus is not that hard if you have the right teacher and this is the right teacher to have if you need to take a math class! Highly recommended!
Atique is an awesome teacher. I was scared to take calc at first but than he made the class so easy. He actually takes the time to teach you until you understand. I enjoyed the class and would recommend it to anyone.
great teacher! take him!
He is alright. For 101B, I have to try extra hard. 4 exams and 1 final exam, No extra Creidt, No curve, No cheatsheet. Be ready to remember all the formulas !!!! It is possible to get A. He is not tough grader. Most of test problems are from book and notes covered in class.
Professor Atique is a great teacher. He expects a lot out of people. You will work your ass off if you want an A, but in the end, you will LEARN the material. He treats students as adults, and is helpful at office hours and in the math lab.
Clear explanation. If not, see him during office hour. Pop quiz often. Do homework regularly and will do great in the tests. Try the class participation, it is fun. Really helpful, the kind of professor who will explain till you understand the content. A caring teacher who would try to make sure every single student in class gets what he explains.
Prof. Atique is an awesome teacher. He help students a lot, and he will teach you until you get it. If you want to get a good grade for this class, you need to be pay attention in class and work hard with his notes and homework. Go to his office hour, ask him questions which you don't understand.
He is a really good teacher :D Attend to class and do your HW absolutely you will pass the class :D easy:D
He is a great teacher. For his self paced class you show up and do hw with the help of himself and in class tutors. There were 5 tests and 1 final test. It is great if you are self motivated and want to finish at your own pace. Would recommend him!
He is new to Ohlone, but he is an awesome teacher. He helps a lot to the students, and he is willing to explain until you understand clearly. Class participation is a must (don't be shy. It helps a lot) Tests are not very hard, but you still need to study regularly. Expect pop quizzes, he gave a quiz on the first week. 5 stars
He is really helpful. His lectures are thorough.
He is a great professor in class and a good friend outside it. He is willing to help you to his fullest extent. He makes the class very interesting and fun to participate in. Make sure to study from his notes and do the homework, if you do so you'll ace any test! (Learned my lesson too late)
Was always willing to help and was very nice. He only wants everyone to succeed.
- He's the definition of nice - His class is easy, as long as you pay attention and ask questions - The tests are easy to medium in difficulty, depending on how well you understand the material. - Doesn't use blackboard though, so you won't be able to know your grade, unless you go in during office hours. -Participation points count, and add up
He encourages people to write the solution on the board and assists them to help the class understand the topic thoroughly. No doubts there's a lot of homework but he gives you the chance grade it yourself for every homework. If you get the wrong answer in quiz or test but still show the right method he'll still give you points. Excellent teacher !
Mr. Atique is a great professor. He gives the pop quizzes to make sure you study. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you will get perfect scores. Don't be scared of it. He is so funny in class also. Excellent professor!
He's a great teacher. Don't go in to class expecting it to be easy. He'll make you work for it, but you will learn the material.
If you are looking for an easy class this is not the right class for you. If you are looking to learn and expand your knowledge, he is the teacher for you! He gives pop quizzes to know if you are studying or not. His lecture are very clear, he just doesnt want you to know the formula but to understand it. BEST MATH TEACHER SO FAR!!!
He is caring professor. it will be easy to take an A, if you do what he tell you to do. Mostly, he gives examples which you will meet again on the quiz or exam. It's easy to understand what he teaches. I'll take his class again.
He is kind professor in teaching me . If you have any question, just feel free to ask him. He will answer your question carefully. He gives you the chance to solve problem on the board, so you can understand it clearly. If you do it wrong, he will be respectful and explain why you did wrong.
He is a good professor for calculus classes. He always goes around the classroom to make sure you did the right and understood. He always gives you time to prepare for your exam and everything in his exam is on the book . Therefore, make sure to read the book and take notes while he is teaching. He is easy in grading.
Atique is the greatest teacher I have ever had. He always give you chance to solve problem on the board that you can understand the lecture well. It will be easy to get an A, if you follow what he teaches. I recommend this professor.
Nabeel's utmost goal is to instill thorough knowledge of calculus to all students while taking into consideration all levels of exposure to the subject. I received a BA years ago. I never had to take a math course past pre calc. Never have I felt this level of confidence while in a math course, and I owe it to his approach to teaching.
Atique is a really amazing math professor! He does give pop quizzes & keeps track of participation. If you don't understand something, he's willing to explain it till you do. You learn a lot, but you do have to work for your grade. He can be funny sometimes too. Did you know he survived a tsunami using math? LOLJust ask him. I would take him again.
Professor Atique is great. He can be a little tough, but really just wants you to completely understand the material. He does give partial credit which really saved me on the exams and quizzes. His lectures can go a bit fast, but you get used to it. He is very approachable and helpful. If you do the homework and take good notes you should be fine.
The material is difficult so you need to plan to spend a lot of time on this class. Dont skip class because you wont have time to cover what you miss except if you are math expert going in. Do the homework everyday! It will help your understanding, memorizing the lesson, and help with the pop quizzes. He is always there for you to ask for help.
He is a helpful professor.
Atique is a great professor. Before I had a hard time with the trigonometric part of pre-cal, but professor Atique makes it easier to digest. He makes sure you understand and elaborates more base your facial expressions. If you're confused, ask! He will help. The examples he gives is off the book correlate with your homework, quizzes, and exams.
Professor Atique is by far one of the greatest professors I have had the opportunity to be taught by. Yes, he challenges you. Yes, it's going to take a lot of time outside of class to do well in the class. Yes, you must participate daily to receive points. But at the end of the day, he is there for you. He wants to see you succeed and do well.
Professor Atique is one of those professors who truly wants you to succeed in his class, and he'll drive that point home multiple times throughout the semester. He also cracks jokes you may find to be funny. Be prepared for his pop quizzes which spring up randomly in the week, and do the homework assigned every night. Come to class every day!
He doesn't like to answer questions. He doesn't really teach you. You really need to rely on the book or online articles. He goes off in class and is super repetitive when it comes to what is caculus. . Best avoid this teacher if you need a good understanding of the subject.
Professor Atique's goal is to help all of his students understand mathematics. He teaches the class material very well. One thing to be noted however, is that to get a good grade you have to put in effort, especially if you're not good at math. Atique will recognize that you are trying and will try to help you as much as he can.
He is just great! Be confidence to take his class. You will get an A easily.
I would say that he is the best, nice, and kind professor. If you want to learn the material instead of just pass the class for a letter grade then take this class. He explains every problem better than the book. He make sure everyone understands the material. The test are not hard but make sure to attend all the lectures.
He is very helpful and nice to students. Unlike other teachers, he explains how the formulas came from instead of just giving it to us. He always ask us if we understand the lectures in class. He is interesting and sometimes like to make jokes in class. I enjoy his class even I don't like math.
Nabeel is very helpful and care about students. He wants student learn things from his lecture. He makes class interesting to participate in. If you pay attentions and review notes at home, you will be fine.
Professor Atique is a very clear lecturer and is willing to answer any questions that you may have whether in class or during his generous office hours. If you take his class make sure you do the homework nightly because he does give pop quizes and believes in preping students for the next level of calc and not just getting them through the class.
Buy the textbook because it is very helpful and you are required to bring it to class everyday. Exams are ok but it is not clear what he is asking for. Many times he would mark a correct problem wrong and I did not understand why. Participation and group work everyday.
If you like to work problems out with classmates than take this class. This did not work for me. The homework is a lot but it prepares you well for test. You have to go up to the board and work out problems in order to pass the class with a good grade!
Professor Atique has been one of the best professors I've had so far. Show up on time and DO NOT miss ANY quizzes. Write down the book examples he uses in class, those are the types of questions that will be on the exam. Trust me, I got A's on nearly all of them. Take precalc or calc before Math167. He cares about his students. Would take again!
Don't wait. Just take this professor.
He's a very fair teacher and he will continue to exaggerate that he is. He is very genuine and cares for his students, if you ever have a question, don't be afraid to ask him. He makes sure that everyone is tentative and understands the work. Test are based on your notes and you should be able to at least pass every test. Attendance is a MUST!
He is one of the best math professors I've had. His lectures are very good and he teaches really well. His tests are not tough if you study the lecture notes examples and homework practice problems. He gives helpful pop quizzes as a grade booster. If you are focused and hard working, there is no doubt you will not get an A.
Absolutely amazing. All you have to do is go to class, ask questions whenever you're confused. He creates an extreme friendly environment for his students to learn in. Although he gives pop quizzes, just pay attention to his lectures and if you understand the material, you're definitely gonna be fine. It really is on you if you don't pass his class
His lectures were interesting at first, but this class has way too much group work for my liking.
It isn't often that you encounter outwardly brilliant folks who make you see your own strengths, all without feeling intimidated in their presence. Math might seem unkind to some, but Professor Atique teaches so well that you'll feel quite differently about the subject, and about yourself. Take my word for it. If you think math is hard, take him.
He is very eloquent, Inspiring and polite . His teaching style is very effective keeping the students engaged and help them develop their critical thinking skills. His helpful nature and accessibility made it easier to reach my goal .Recipe for success is to be attentive in the class , participate and study daily . He is a GREAT teacher.
Absolutly amazing. I hated math before I took precalculus with him. He creates this extremely friendly environment and teaches his subjects very effectivelly, and if you have questions just raise your hand and he will make sure that you understand the material. But beware if you miss classes you would do bad. I highly recommend this professor.
Professor Atique is the best teacher i've ever had. He cares for his students, and is always fair when it comes to homework and tests. I highly recommend this professor if you want yo learn because he makes you want to wok hard and get better at the subject. Oh and also the quizes are basically you grade boosters and are there help you improve u.
Took him for 152 and retook him again for 101A. He is a wonderful professor. Make sure you follow his lecture and write down everything from a board, you will be fine on tests.
This professor is a very great teacher. I would recommend taking his class. There are pop quizzes but if you go to class on a regular basis and take good notes you'll definitely pass his class.
Mr. Atique is a really great professor. I would highly recommend taking his class. He really cares about his students and makes sure you understand the material. I didn't understand math but after I took his class I understand it and enjoy it.
Mr. Atique is great at making sure you truly understand the material. He doesn't just hand out formulas and expect you to memorizes them, he explains where they come from which helps you retain the information. As long as you do the homework and attend class there is no reason to fail. He gives you all the tools and explanations you need to succeed
Professor Atique is an amazing professor, I took him in Spring'17. Trust me when I say this "Don't be short sighted and look for an easy route right now", take him because he will grill the material into your head so well that it will be like a routine. He does expect you to come into class with past course's knowledge but getting an A is not hard.
Amazing professor, and he's always willing to help out his students. His lectures are very clear, too. He's really nice in grading, not super tough. But you should know all the materials covered in class to pass.
If you actually want to learn something, TAKE. THIS. CLASS. You'll want to have a strong base for classes you'll take in the future, and Atique will give it to you. If you miss a class, be sure to get notes from others and ask questions. Make sure you understand the material. Do the work and you'll earn the grade you deserve
Listen he is a good math teacher. I don't doubt that but if you are a working student like I was forget him. He has pop quizzes and sometimes I just couldn't do the homework the night before because I would come home dead beat tired. Take him if school is your full time job and you have nothing else because he is a very in depth teacher. Good luck!
Great professor. Explains the subject very well and is always available outside of class if you need extra help. Very friendly class environment. I highly recommend his class if you have to take higher math courses.
Great Professor! I took him in Spring'17 and I learned a lot from his class. Lectures are clear and don't be afraid to ask questions because he will help you understand the subject better. Do homework, don't miss class, and take good notes. However, he does give a lot of homework but it will help you with his tests and pop quizzes.
Chapter test are weight heavily, each o then worth 15% of your total grad. There are around 4-5 chapter test and 10 pop quiz. Do be late since the pop quiz will start once he enters the room.
Really makes sure everyone in the class understands the topic before moving on. He's really nice and a great guy to talk to; he has so many awesome stories. His tests are a bit difficult, but overall a great professor. Wish I could take him again.
Pro. Atique is truly amazing. He really cares about all students and always makes sure everyone understand. I would highly recommend. TAKE HIS CLASS, you won't regret! However, if you are lazy to do homework or don't study, perhaps it's too hard for you. No study guideline even for final. But homework helps a lot. Pop quizzes.
First thing is "Easy B, hard A" His lectures are gold. He explains the topic really well. DON'T BE LATE. Make sure you attend every class and PARTICIPATE! Homework is on honor system. If you don't do it, you won't pass the Exams. He does not give you sample test so effort is required. You'll be confident to get an A for Calculus 2 after. He's NICE!
Professor Atique cares a lot about students and spends as much time as is necessary to make sure the class understands the subject. Super laid back, easy class, gives good feedback. Pop quizzes aren't bad, just look over the last lecture's notes and you'll be fine. Amazing in every category.
Professor Atique is the best math teacher I have had since 9th grade
Atique is a very sweet teacher, however when he taught 101B, it was basically him repeating what the textbook was saying and rewriting the practice problems in the book on the board, which you could have done at home. I wish he made the lectures more diverse and different from the textbook. Also, he has POP QUIZZES, beware.
Professor Atique is very thorough and he makes sure everyone is following. He is very caring. Also, his teaching style is clear and straight forward.
Gives pretty good insight on the material during the lecture. If you have a question don't be afraid to ask him to clear it up. He gives pop quizzes on material you learn the previous class so make sure you review that material. There aren't going to be any trick questions on his exams. To be good at Calc2 you just need a lot of practice.
Professor Atique overall was a great teacher. He is very approachable and nice. He does count participation for points in class & the homework is sort of a lot but doing it pays off in the end. He explains most problems well enough to understand & even offers more help if you did not. Be aware that he gives occasional pop quizzes as well.
Professor Atique was an amazing teacher! His lectures are very straight forward he won't teach you what you don't need. He gives students participation credit. He really does care about all his students and is very accessible during office hours. Do the homework, what you practice will be on test.
Super cool guy, very knowledgeable and he loves to teach. The class is pretty hard, he doesn't give study guides, you just have to know everything for tests. He also expects you to have a very good background of math, but he's very accessible during office hours. GO TO CLASS AND SHOW UP ON TIME.
Professor Atique is very talented and amazing teacher. I wished I had a professor like him for my Algebra II. because you need to have a strong basic from Algebra II in order do well in calculus. His teaching style is clear and straight forward. He made it possible for me to do well in class. I will highly recommend his class.
If you can, take this class before statistics or right after algebra 2. Well educated professor. Dont be late/miss class. Pop quizzes every week. Make sure to do hw. Seek help at math lab/office hours and you should be able to pass the class. Dont throw away your old quizzes/hw/exams, they'll come in handy for the final. GOOD LUCK!
Hes straight forward but in a good way
Hes a really cool guy and a good Professor. Always gets straight to the point and does not teach you what you dont need to know. Make sure to copy all notes on the board and beware of pop quizzes. He does give out a lot of homework but it definitely helps you in the long run. Also, keep all your exams as it will come in handy for the final!
He is very fair and straight to the point. He tries to make sure everyone understands why the formulas come into play. It will be hard if you dont study or get some help understanding, otherwise youll be fine! DO NOT throw away any notes, classwork, quizes, or tests!!! They will help on the exams and finals because they will be very similar.
Professor is very patient and nice . Highly recommended!
I'm really, really bad at math, but I was able to follow his lectures and understand the material. It's the first time I've gotten an A in math in a long time. I found his lectures interesting and easy to follow, and he was really nice and fair. His tests are based entirely on his lectures, so if you take good notes you should do well.
Nabeel is my best math professor I ever. The lectures by Nabeel are clear and amazing. There are 9 pop quizzes for a semester. If you are not good at math, you should see a math tutor every week. A lot of homework help to improve your math skill. If you dont understand some part, you dont be shy and can ask him.
Very good teacher, love his teaching style. Wants you to succeed in class, very helpful nature. There are pop quizzes but are not hard, does not try to trick. Make sure you put in the effort, do hw, study and come to class, you will be fine. I loved his class and I am not a huge fan of math. He made calculus simpler to understand. Great teacher!!!
The learning environment was uplifting and positive, you can always ask questions and professor Nabeel will help you out. Be sure to show up to class every day it plays a part in your grade! Pop quizzes are a breeze if you review the prior day's notes. Overall, professor Nabeel was a fantastic professor and you learn a ton, just don't be lazy!!!
Professor Atique is an amazing professor! I never considered myself good at math but his lectures were really clear and helpful to understanding the material. He is available 4 days out of the week for office hours so you will definitely have the opportunity for one on one time if needed. Thanks to professor Atique, I am a lot better at math.
You need to make sure you have the time to study for this class. Took this class with a heavy schedule and was unable to pass. STUDY throughout the week & BEWARE of pop quizzes. & if it is you last semester you need to make sure you have strong algebra. If not meet at office hours w him and show up to math lab.
Even though I'm not good at math and very new to calculous, his lecture helped me a lot to understand. As long as you go to class and understand only basics, it's not difficult to pass or to get a high grade.
He does a great job of explaining the material to make sure you truly understand the concepts! The material of Math 167 is heavy, and there are no shortcuts with him, but he's fair. Be prepared to put in a lot of work and time, and if you do your part, you will succeed. I learned and absorbed a lot more in his class than in any other math class.
Hands down! Best Math Nerd Ive ever met. Good at explaining stuffs and make them easy to understand. Take him if u wanna LEARN!
This was the hardest class I have taken. Although professor Atique is very tough, he wants his students to do well. As long as u show him u know the material u will be okay! I barely passed, But I still managed to do well on the final. Make sure u have time to study & go to office hours! Having a heavy schedule will be really difficult w this class
He's not a bad professor but if you're not strong in math he's not the right professor for you. He expects you to come in already having the prerequisites DOWN and he goes very very fast. If you're a slow learner and struggle math this class will be extremely hard. More than half of my class dropped by the end of the semester.
Review your notes before coming to lecture. POP quiz once a week, mostly on Thursday.
PROF ATIQUE IS THE BEST! prob one of my best professors ever. The material can be hard but if you go to class & pay attention & study for exams you can pass. He really cares about his students & lecturers are enthusiastic & engaging. He makes you volunteer to do problems on the board which helped me learn the material, he has a great teaching style
Sadly I had to drop prof Atique, however my time spent in his class really prepared me well for Calc 101A. He really takes his time to make sure you understand the concept well and also gives you a significant amount of practice problem( there is no other way to learn math) Homework isnt weighted as heavily so you just have to be smart with it.
Atique was an excellent lecturer who always makes students participate. Don't be scared, participation can be scary but it's the best way to understand a concept. He gives reasonable hw. Homework alone will not guarantee a pass. Attending lectures and a LOT of studying will ensure an A but a reasonable amount of work is required to pass.
Tough grader
I didnt know you can get gaslit in Math, but this man really just said, "Watch Me!". He treats this is a regular class and we arent in a pandemic. Avoid if you have ADD, anxiety, etc. You can understand, but once its homework/test time it doesn't matter cause he only infodumps in class and doesn't teach or even go over tests/quizzes/hw. SELF-STUDY!
Professor clearly wants students to success and that's very important to me. He will stay after class without question if you need any help and will make sure you understand the curriculum. One of the most productive and smooth math classes I have taken.
The tests are really hard, and you will loose a lot of points for small mistakes. Take him only if you are really good at math.
Professor Atique is very approachable, he makes sure you are understanding the material. if you need additional help he makes to be available at a time that works for both of you. He slows down if you need him. He makes it heavy homework base but that is the only way to learn math. He does give a good amount of time to do the homework.
Overall great professor! There is quite a bit of homework, but honestly, it's great practice and needed to do well on tests. He gives great lectures that are simple enough to understand and detailed as well. On tests, try to be as specific from the use of brackets to not forgetting decimals since he doesn't really cut you any slack for accidents.
His test are difficult and hard to pass the class :(
He really cares about his students, is a fair grader, and always clarifies any confusion or questions students have. As long as you read the book, review his lectures, and do the homework you should be fine. There are pop quizzes on the previous lecture's material so make sure to do the homework and study before the class. Totally recommend!
All good reviews are from him. The test are so hard and take him only if you are good in math. I took him because of a good rating. I would not recommend this prof to anyone.
Very caring and a good teacher! He is also very lenient. Pay attention to lectures to easily understand everything but the homework modules also help teach you how to do the problems.
Honestly, stay away and take another professor. His class isn't worth it to take. I am stressing out too much over a business calculus class. He gives random pop quizzes and doesn't care if you need to miss a class. Those pop quizzes drop your grade by a lot. His tests are also really hard to pass and he gives no study guides or notes on canvas.
Sweet professor but a heavy lecturer. Not a huge fan of his guidelines though, especially in a middle of a pandemic. Doesn't record lectures, no extra credit, doesn't drop lowest score, pop quizzes, and all exams/quizzes are worth 20%. Doesn't collect homework. His class gives me anxiety, but I'm learning to push through it and study harder.
Professor Atique brings the fun to math! He makes sure that all of his students truly understand the material and moves at a great pace. He is also very friendly and always comes to lecture with a smile on his face. My favorite math teacher at ohlone! I really recommend
His tests and quizzes are difficult. No study guides! Very hard to pass his class.
Pop quiz every week. Take off points for small mistakes. He expects you to be really good at prerequisite classes stuff. Half of the class dropped and all good reviews are from him. I would suggest taking another professor.
His lecture are lot easier than exam. He give way too much homework. No extra credit.
I mean he asked me to give him an honest review a few days ago literally in the middle of class so here it is. He is way too difficult for no reason. Doesn't give us study guides and expects us to know stuff from previous classes as if we didn't take them years ago. His pop quizzes are extremely difficult and he only grades tests and quizzes.
This class has given me so much anxiety. He doesn't record lectures, what is the point of paying for a class when you have to learn from other sources. Pop quizzes and you have to turn your camera on. No way to boost your grade, only exams and quizzes. Professors should not be like this, we're in a pandemic
Take him if you're super good at math. He isn't the best teacher to take for someone who has trouble with math. He makes students feel embarrassed for asking questions. There are so many pop quizzes so you would have to make it to every lecture regardless of your circumstances. Favors students who have their cameras on, not everyone can do that.
Honestly, Professor Atique is by far my favorite math professor at Ohlone. I'm not the best at math but he has made it so much easier for me. I actually learn because I'm pushed to do well in this class. Work hard and do your work and actively participate in class you'll do good. He isn't evil like these reviews make him out to be.
Homework optional, but do it. Quizzes are as difficult as the homework problems from the previous lecture. If you participate, he will make sure you understand everything before he moves on. Lecture is made of practice problems from text, makes it easy to review your notes. Exam/quizzes are around same difficulty.
Not sure who's giving these "good" reviews but I wish I took into consideration of what the other reviews said. This class could potentially get in the way of my transfer process and I'm forced to push through because he's "tough" and wants us to "better ourselves". pls pls pls listen to them!!!! i am struggling
Prof. Atique is a really cool guy. Really funny, he doesn't like his class too serious. Expect a pop quiz every week but you know what will be on the quiz. He likes to make sure that everyone understands the concept before he moves on. Expects you to remember all formulas and topics from 101A. Clear grading. Easy to work with. would take again.
I took his business calc and probably he made the work easiest. The way he explains the materials and takes his time going over stuff is so much helpful. It is a math class so you have to show up to learn. But if you show up to class and ask him questions you would definitely get a good grade. Definitely recommend taking him over other professors.
Being online and learning math itself is difficult. But Prof. Antique gave his full effort to teach us. He answered all the questions I had. If you want to have a solid base and do better in future math classes then do all his HW and you'll get the best Grade. He is caring and the best Calc teacher in Ohlone.
He is tough grader and you will lose points for little mistakes. He makes you feel embraced if you ask questions :(
He's good at explaining the materials and will not shun you down for not knowing stuffs or asking (stupid) questions. Study for pop quiz by doing hw problems, if you do not have much time during the week, make sure you at least go over lecture notes and do a few problems for each topic/section. He's tough, but really supportive. Good luck!
Great teacher! Its difficult to bring your grade up if you started the class with a C because the quizzes dont weigh much. Professor if youre seeing this please offer at least one extra credit opportunity or something to help boost our grade! Ive been getting Bs and As yet my overall grade in the class goes up like .5% percent every quiz.
Pop quizzes almost every week, 3 20% of grade tests, and a final. This may sound challenging but Professor Atique's grading is only so tough as he trusts you. He has every-day office hours and lectures are always helpful. He is super accessible and even helps on homework. Quizzes aren't hard as he wants to prepare for exam as they are worth more.
Take him only if you are good at math.
Professor Atique is very helpful to students, very approachable and can ask him not only about math, but also advices for life. He also shares his life story with us, and it is very inspirational. If given the chance, I will take his class again for sure.
Tough Grader! His lecture problems are easier than exams and quizzes. Very hard to pass his class.
He does not go over problem in detail. Pop quiz every week. Don't take his class to ruin your GPA. He does not provide any study guides for exams. Also he is strict on grading, any tiny mistake will make you losing points.
He is a great lecturer. However, bringing up your grade to an A from a couple average grades from the past is near impossible. I've been getting good grades for a while now yet it barely moves. Now the semester is almost ending. I feel like my constant studying and homework doesn't reflect my grade in the class which stresses me out :(
Wish that I have read about him before taking him. Hes such a horrible professor. I have to study on my own because he goes so fast in class and there is no recordings. We are in corona virus. All my professors care about us to pass but he doesnt. Hes so bad. We get no extra time for hard tests. We have 4 test and they are so hard also pop quiz
The class ruined my 4.0 GPA this semester. No way of redeeming yourself and bringing your grade up because all exams/ pop quizzes are worth just 20%. Don't take him, unless you're really good at math. He's very unfair. I wish I took another professor.
Pop quizzes are something to watch out for but studying daily will help you prepare for them as well as the exams and the final. He explains the math concepts really well and makes sure that you understand the material before moving on to the next topic. I highly recommend taking math classes with Atique. He will prepare you for future math courses
This professor whatever you may think of him is simply a HACK JOB. His grading system is horrible and destroys a students motivation. Passing this class is incredibly difficult due to his confusing lectures and attitude when wanting his help. His greatest sin by far is the fact that he gives students he likes better grades on exams and quizzes.
Professor Atique is an amazing professor. I took him for calculus - and he cares. I went through a LOT of personal problems during my time in his class, and the amount of empathy he showed is unmatched. His tests are a reflection of the material taught in class -- if anything's confusing, he will enthusiastically clarify it.
Professor Atique literally is one of the best lecturers I've had, so good at explaining concepts and so knowledgeable in his field. He's absolutely hilarious and gives so much insight on material that you can't get from just reading the text. He lowkey made me want to minor in Mathematics (strange as Math had been my weak spot). Highly recommended.
He's a sweet guy! He really wants you to pass the class and makes the curriculum so fun! Ill definitely take him again for another class!
He is a caring professor. He did assign a lot of homework but it was not something that was unmanageable or without a good reason. He is supportive and cares about his students. This is not an easy A class (which I am not surprised if a lot of students who gave him a low score were probably expecting). Just do the homework. Tests are based on hw!
Atique is worst professor at Ohlone. He takes off points for little mistakes. Take him only if you are really good at Math. Hard to get a B.
Tough grader. Pop quiz every week. He does not care if you are failing his class. I wish I have taken another professor.
I had Professor Nabeel Atique for Algebra 2 and he was one of the best professors that I had at Ohlone and the best math professor that I had. I could tell that he genuinely cared about us students and wanted us to understand the material. When we would have questions he was patient and never talked down to us or made us feel dumb for asking.
Please save yourself and take a different professor as Professor Nabeel will destroy your GPA and motivation. He grading style makes it very hard to raise your grade and his teaching is below average. I have compared my exams with different students and realized that despite having the SAME answers, it was graded differently. He is SIMPLY unfair.
One of the best professors I've ever had. He cares a lot about his students and always clarifies concepts if there are any questions. Please make sure to review the past lecture's material before class every day, so you can be prepared for the pop quizzes. Homework is optional but do it if you want to do well on the quizzes, exams, and the final.
Professor Atique is my favorite professor at Ohlone. Im so thankful to have taken him this semester. I was struggling in math but with his help I learned so much. He tells you exactly whats going to be on the tests and quizzes, make sure you do homework and you will 100% pass them. He is so caring and helpful. Thank you Professor Atique.
HORRIBLE. please take someone else who actually cares about students. he graded exams and I deserve an A but he is so unfair that he gave me lower. I know he gave others a better score. He has so many quizzes and exams and provides NO help and takes off points whenever he feels like it. This B ruined my GPA and I worked SO hard. Spare yourself.
Professor Atique has helped me with so much. He is very accommodating and has helped me and my classmates whenever we needed it. I advise you to do all the homework he assigns because that exact material is going to be on the exams and quizzes. I am really glad that I took him this semester and I would take him for literally any other math class.
Professor Atique has helped me out greatly. I have learned so much from him. Make sure to actively participate in class because it will help you out especially with homework and exams. Study hard youll do good
Professor Atique does really care about his students. He was able to take the criticism from some of the reviews on here and work on that because he wants us to succeed. Always asking if he needs to slow down. His exams are just like the lecture notes and hw. Im also not the best at math but I was able to learn a lot. Thank you Professor.
TAKE HIM! He actively keeps the class engaged and constantly asks us, do I need to slow down? He wants his students to not just take notes but to actually understand the concept. Whenever I had doubts or a silly question he would go back and do the whole problem again until I understood it. He loved it when we asked questions.
I took Professor Nabeel for two classes, math 154 and math 101a. I didnt hesitate taking him because my friend took him before and let me know he was really good. In class we had pop quizzes but he would usually tell us when theyd be. They were also just like the hw. Make sure to participate in class so you do well.
Prof. Atique is one of those professors that you find yourself thinking of from time to time and wondering why more prof.s don't teach like him. His lectures included people going up to the board to do problems so you could see all the common mistakes people made, lectures were also super explicit and clear, definitely sets you up for later classes
All the good reviews are from him. His tests are hard and he put lots of question on the test with limited time. Hard to get an B in his class. Take him only if you are good at math.
Super knowledgeable professor and very willing to help outside of class. Clear and effective teaching style thats great for an introduction to calculus or other difficult classes.
His exams are harder than the lecture problems. No study guides for exams and final. Pop quiz every week. He expects students to good at prerequisite courses. He is harsh grader and takes off lots of points for small mistakes.
Professor Atique is by far one of the best professors at Ohlone. He really cares for his students and wants you to learn. You can always go to him and ask him for any clarification and he would be willing to take the time to teach you. Can joke from time to time in class too! Fair grader too imo. Would take again!
Professor Nabeel is a really nice teacher. He prefers us to understand the formulas, so we can easy to remember them. If you like Math, I strongly recommend to take the class with Mr. Atique. Remember always listen the lectures and do all the homework. An A is not that hard for you.
He grades so harshly. Exams are very long and no study guides. All the time he says "Should you know this". He expect you to be good at prerequisite stuff.
Tough grader! Does not teach well. Pop quiz every week. Stay away from him.
Prof. Atique was a great educator for our whole class. He really takes the time to make sure we get each step he takes and he took a lot of time to go through the material so it sinks in. The tests and quizzes are not bad at all, especially the quizzes, which are only 2-3 questions. Overall, a good professor, you'll learn if you put in the effort.
Professor Atique is a wonderful professor. He really cares that his students learn the material. If you need help ask and he will make sure you understand everything. Participation is not required, but extremely helpful, so don't be afraid to speak up.
Professor Atique is a pretty cool teacher however can be passive aggressive with reffering back to previous material. This seemed to lighten up as the class progressed over the course of the semester. His grading criteria is split between 4 exams (80% total so 20% per exam) and quizzes (20%). Homework is given but not graded.
Made a great effort at simplifying the mathwork and lecture notes. He doesn't record his zoom meetings though and will require you to attend class. Pop quizzes each week.
Professor Atique is a great teacher. He taught me a lot about Calculus and he explained everything accurately. If you have a question, Do not be hesitant to ask. He is open to all questions. Participation is also very important. I suggest studying each week for the quizzes and tests because it helps a lot.
Prof. Atique is an amazing teacher. He teaches in a way that makes it really to grasp new concepts. He welcomes questions and provides friendly answers. He assigns HW but doesn't collect it, but make sure to do them anyways because of the weekly pop quizzes. Although the class was a little tough, I really recommend taking him. You wont regret it :)
He's very helpful in his lectures to have students understand the material but in later chapters it extensively becomes more difficult to digest especially if you don't keep up. His weekly quizzes are the only way to fluctuate your grade but the 3 exams (20% of final grade each) really define your final grade. Take if you want a good base for Calc2
Professor Nabeel Atique was the best professor I ever had in my academic journey. Dont take this to be sugarcoated, this guy will take care of you. Just make sure you do the homework and study for pop quizzes. Just do the work, show up, and youll be good. Its hard to come by great professors like this guy. We need more people like him.
Professor Atique cares a lot about his students as long as you participate and show that you hope to do well abs learn from his class. I took this class because it was a requirement for me. I usually do not like math and it is not my strong suit. Professor atique was patient with me and helped me do really well! As long as you put the work in!
you just need to listen and participate when you can. also, its easy to ask him questions.
This professor is an amazing calculus professor, I spent a lot of time dealing with Math and I just couldnt get passed math 101A, until I took Professor Ariques class. During the pandemic he was understanding and caring but always made us work hard for a great grade. If you study and make his lectures youll have no problem passing.
This was my first calculus class and I'm grateful to have taken it with Professor Atique! Lectures go really fast and make sure to take lots of notes. He was very kind and always made sure to ask if we were following along. The grading scale is 4 exams and quizzes, get ready for a pop quiz every week!
My counselor suggested me take Math-167 this year. And this professor is amazing, he won't push you so hard. Quizzes and exams are not too hard, all you have to do is just take good notes and participate often.
His class is based heavily on quizzes and exams, since there is no graded homework. Easy A as long as you pay attention and ask him questions when you need. Hes super nice and would definitely understand if you have circumstances.
Professor Atique was a great teacher. He made sure to keep the pace easy to understand and went over a lot of examples in class. He also gave us breaks during class and was receptive to any questions we had. I am glad I took his class!
Professor Atique was a great professor. He made sure that his lectures were engaging. The lectures and lecture notes were a great way to succeed in the class. He had a great way of explaining and went over many examples to really let a topic sit and also went at a speed optimal for absorbing new information!
Professor Atique went into depth in lectures through examples/definitions which helped me memorize a lot of formulas for his quizzes and exams. His homework assignments are extremely helpful and not overloaded. He was very informative in office hours and always made sure the class was engaged as well.
Prof. Atique is a great teacher. His classes are lecture heavy and full of questions you can find on the test. He encourages questions and repeats concepts if needed. Test based grading (exams will move your grade, while quizzes barely do much) Expect weekly quizzes, take lots of notes and review them.
I took prof atique for calc 101a online and I really liked the class. His lectures were clear and he was always willing to stop to answer questions or restate something. He has office hours four times a week and it's really helpful. The grade is 20% being pop quizzes, but they are almost always on thursdays. The other 80% is 3 exams and a final.
Prof Atique was by far one of the best most kind hearted prof ive ever had! i wish i had a chance to meet him in person, but nonetheless i took his math167 class a while back and the class was a blast. theres a lot of material and a lot of hw and studying to be done and the tests are quite difficult however he is there for every step of the way.
Took 101A online. He goes through all the formulas thoroughly and answers the questions we have patiently. Homeworks are given but submission isn't necessary. There are weekly one small pop quiz in addition to chapter tests. Test is a bit fast paced but with regular homework practice and reviewing notes, it's manageable. Would take again.
Prof. Atique is one of the best math teachers for building a solid calc foundation. Calc is tough & fast paced regardless of whos teaching, but his pace is based on comprehension. If you ask/answer questions or make it obvious youre paying attention hell cater his lecture style to include your personal approach to math. Very cool prof 11/10
Honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. He genuinely wants you to do well and will go over the same material ten times over and let you ask unlimited questions until you understand. Always asks for feedback and will never shame you for being wrong. If you take any teacher definitely take Professor Atique
Professor Atique is an excellent teacher. You can tell that he cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He always answers questions students may have and pauses during lectures to make sure we are understanding the material. One of the best math teachers that I have had.
Professor Atique was one of the best teachers Ive had. He likes making conversation and genuinely cares about his students. As long as u pay attention in class youll pass. Homework is not graded so the quizzes and tests are really important. He really encourages students to participate. I really like that we didnt have to use a website for hw.
Professor Atique is a great teacher. He has good explanations and really will help you understand what you don't. His tests are pretty difficult and a lot of studying is required to succeed in the class.
Quizzes every week except on exam weeks, usually feels like there's not enough time to finish exams so you have to work fast, quizzes are pretty easy, hw optional
Professor Atique is great at going over concepts and problems step by step while making sure everybody is clear on the material. Highly recommend.
Caring Professor but exams were very difficult. If you are weak in math, don't take him unless you think you can catch up.
The professor is nice, but he really wasn't being able to give me mercy on the exams. His exams are too difficult. Even if you had notes for his exams, then you still may not pass his exams nor his class. His pop quizzes are not too bad, but you still need to show the proper work. 4 exams each are worth 20% of the grade and quizzes are also 20%.
He clearly explains concepts well and cares about his students, but there's lots of homework so do it asap even though it's ungraded. It will make or break your quizzes/exams. And make sure you speak up if you don't understand, or else he will quickly move ahead and you will be lost. Not an easy A, but you will learn a lot if you keep up.
he explains stuff well and makes sure you understand it but there's much more in homework that you need to learn and ask questions! popquizes everyweek, 3 tests and 1 final and thats your grade! make sure you study and utilize mathcenter but its a class you can bag upto a B if you do the work diligently or even an A! take him for a good base
Great professor! Goes into detail with the formulas and gives great examples that helped me understand the concepts. He provides constructive criticism and definitely cares about how his students do and wants them to participate and continue to improve.
Professor Atique is very kind and understanding, and has very helpful lectures. His exams and quizzes are based on the content we cover in lectures so make sure to attend class.
Professor Atique is an amazing professor. I was anxious at first because I am not the best at math. However, he created a friendly environment and was always open to answering all my questions. His lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. Participation matters and even though it was on zoom, it felt as though we were in a classroom!
Professor Atique is a great guy but half decent lecturer. To get the most out of the class/material asking him how to do the problems in more depth than what the book says will ensure understanding if not, his lectures are just the textbook examples. Pop quizzes are a thing, but only one a week. No curves, and the grading scale can be rough
an amazing professor! he simplified calc for me in so many ways! As long as you do your hw, you'll do good in the tests/quizzes! 3 tests, 1 final and pop quizzes! Extra credit for being vocal which is a total game changer bc it bumped me from a B+ to A-! ask questions and do the hw and review the exercises end of section to do good on tests!
He is a very good professor that explains things very well. However, your grade is fully dependent on test and pop quiz grades because he doesn't grade homework. But he is very understanding and caring.
This professor can be quite funny and very helpful in class, but when it comes to tests...the only thing funny is how the average of the tests has been around 50% so far. Calculus is generally hard, but if you have terrible study habits; don't take him for now. Homework is not graded and 80% of your grade is broken down into 4 tests.
Professor Atique is brutal for those unprepared. Graded only on four tests and 10-12 quizzes that are timed. I went from F on first test to A on last test because he breaks you down and builds you up. Take only if you can handle it emotionally and can study long hours with the massive (optional) homework problem sets.
Overall this was a great class. We had 3 unit tests and 1 final exam. All his test were exactly based on what we were taught in class. The final was hard but doable. The only complaint I have about him is that he really rushed through topics such Sequences, series and Parametric equations. I had to self teach myself these topics.
This professor is an easy A. The tests are really easy and simple. There is a pop quiz once a week but it is really easy if you do the homework he gave you before. He explains staff in a way anyone can understand. But do not take him for Math101A if you did not do well on pre-cal or skipped pre-cal. He expects everyone to know pre cal.
I can't lie it was a tough class. No study guides. But great professor. Attendance will help you out tremendously, as he is a really good teacher. Prof. Atique genuinely cares for his students to succeed in his class. It takes commitment to pass, but he will help you as long as you trying. Extra Credit is extremely rare so don't count on it.
I would not say that this class is easy, pop-quiz gave me a lot of challenges, although the process is not easy, it is effective, you will really learn a lot, and the professor is also very conscientious. If you want to improve your math ability, please be sure to choose him.
This professor teaches the material well, and was very generous with the excess credit he gave whenever he noticed that the whole class did not do well on a pop quiz. Homework is not graded, and he will not help with homework problems in class, but only during office hours. The last unit felt slightly rushed, even though we had several free days.
Nabeel Atique is great at teaching and he is very friendly. I took Math 167 with him. If you pay attention to the lectures and attend classes regularly, you will definitely get a good grade in this class. I feel Pop quizzes are the ones which require more attention in this class.
Good teacher who understands students and their situations. Homework is not mandatory, but studying is definitely a must; the entire grade is based off participation, attendance, TESTS, and POP QUIZZES. If calculus, algebra, and trigonometry come easy to you, Professor Atique is perfect. Otherwise, I suggest taking a slower teacher.
He's pretty hard. You have weekly pop quizzes that are kinda difficult. There are four tests including the final that are worth 20% of your grade each that are usually easier than the quizzes. He is generous with partial credit but does not curve, even if the whole class does pretty bad. You'll learn a lot, but it is a hard class.
Despite needing to retake this class next semester, I'll be completely reasonable about it. He's good at lecturing. They aren't boring despite being dull (IMO) material. HOWEVER, you don't get to have notecards during quizzes or finals, so if your memory sucks, you'll be struggling. If you love math you'll like him, if you don't, tough luck bro.
Despite having to retake 101B again, Professor Atique sparked my love for math. Professor Atique doesn't let your lack of a solid math foundation slide. Your holes in Alg. 2, Pre-Calc, Trig, and Calc 1 will all be tested. He is extremely fair and respected. I would take him again, just not to get an easy A. He is passionate and I learned a lot.
Honestly the best intro to calc professor you can have. Sets your foundation for other math classes. 4 tests including the final worth 20% no make ups. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class.
Prof Atique is very caring and understanding. His lectures are very interactive, and he encourages students to try problems w/ the help of each other. His exams are fair and resemblant to the homework. Do the homework, study a little everyday, ask for help immediately--- and this class will be a breeze! HW is optional. Three exams + final + quizzes
Professor Atique is caring, electric in the classroom, and brings out the best version of yourself in Math. Rather than running from one's weaknesses in Pre-Calc and Algebra 2, Atique fosters a welcoming learning environment that enables one to learn from their mistakes or concerns and rediscover the joy of learning. The engagement was maintained.
If your goal is to sharpen your understanding in calculus, this is the guy. You will require basic knowledge of precalculus and you're all good to go.Classes are fun and his explanations are passionate. I assure you he knows how to stir up your curiosity. Homework is not mandatory but if you are aiming to ace every tests, that's all you need to do.
He is not an easy A but his lectures are fun s
Professor Atique is great at presenting material in clear and understandable manner. I'd advise you to brush up on precalc & algebra especially if you are rusty or not particularly strong in those subjects. The class will be a lot more enjoyable if you are able to focus on learning the calculus side rather than having to struggle with old material
Lectures were fun and easy to understand. He thoroughly goes through many examples during class which was really helpful. Has weekly pop quizzes that can be pretty hard. Tests are similar to the examples from class and the HW. Grade distribution is 5% participation, 15% quizzes, 20% exam 1, 20% exam 2, 20% exam 3, and 20% final so VERY test heavy.
Professor Atique is passionate and makes calculus engaging. Doing homework and attending class are key to success. Unstuck study AI helped me prepare for tests alongside the textbook and study sessions.
He'll take care of everyone in the class and make sure you understand what's going on. His introduction was great and easy to understand, but his exam was also difficult. If you can keep up with the progress of the course, and have a good math foundation, and carefully complete the homework he assigned, it should not be a problem
Gives very detailed and thorough lectures. If you seek help from him, he will put in a lot of effort to help you understand. Weekly pop quizzes and tests are based on class examples and HW (quizzes harder than tests). The grade is dependent on exams. Review constantly as no flashcards given + no curve. He's a hard teacher, but worth it for learning
Professor Atique was an overall good professor. First few weeks felt like a shock, but he paces his class pretty well. Participation definitely matters, but it is also very helpful for succeeding in his class. His exams are not too difficult if you study, and he is a fair grader. One thing is that he cancels class with short or no notice.
amazing lectures. be wary since the grading is majority based off of 4 exams. easiest way to get by in this class is to just do the homework daily and to not fall behind. although he's lenient with partial credit, don't slack off and you're guaranteed a good grade. also rounded my grade to an A- due to good class participation.
The lectures are very easy to follow and there is a heavy emphasis on class participation. Pop quizes are always easy and managable as long as you have a basic understanding of the material. The tests are also very straight forward and fair. Overall a very engaging professor that makes mathematics interesting and fun.
Professor Atique is excellent at making his lectures fun and not feel like a drag. You won't find yourself being bored or zoning out in his class. There are pop quizzes but you should be able to handle them as long as you do the homework. Same goes for the exams. Just pay attention and participate in class and it's an easy A for you.
Professor Atique is the best math professor I've had! He ensures that everyone understands the concept before moving on and gives many examples in class for us to do. The lectures are engaging and fun, and it is clear he is passionate about teaching calculus. He is always willing to help students, and we do lots of group work which is very helpful.
Pretty good. Emphasis on participation. Need to go to all lectures.
Stand up guy.
good lectures just gave crazy amount of pop quizzes in the beginning to have people drop his class. Not really an open environment to ask questions since he expects you to know everything. lowkey made picks on kids and is always choosing them and judges hard. besides that his teaching method is well for a classroom on a foreign country.
This class sucks and it's hard unless you already know calculus. Almost 100 homework questions on day one, daily HW, 4 exams, pop quizzes with no notes allowed. He barely answers emails and gives little help. Started with 40 students, now single digit of people in the class everyone dropped, TRUST the 1-star reviews.
Professor Atique is the best, made calculus easy for everyone, gives participation points, good feedback, extra credit, just have to revise what he teaches, easy pop or group quiz every week related to what we learn that week, little easy HW. He is an Awesome Professor. I recommend him if you want to learn math and have good grades too. Thank you.
Professor Atique is the best calc teacher I ever had. He makes sure the class understands the basics before moving to the actual calculus part. He gives pop quizzes weekly but you should be fine as long as you do the homework he assigns everyday. He acknowledges every mistake and question which will improve your experience with the class.
It's a hard class, and his teaching does not help with learning calculus. The class had 30 people at the start, and now there's only 9 students left. He gives a lot of work and does not allow notes during exams, which I think is unfair as other Professors allow it. If you need to take Business Calc for your major, please just take Calc 1. Not him.
Professor Atique is a great teacher. His lectures are engaging and I can tell he really cares about the content as well as his students. Though the exams do count for much of the grade, he also makes sure to give plenty of group quizzes and opportunities to earn points. Overall, I would strongly recommend taking Professor Atique's class.
His class was fun, and he explains every topic and theorems clearly, and he's willing to go over the material again if someone doesn't understand it.
Professor Atique is amazing! Although the course work can be tedious, his lectures are extremely helpful and easy to understand. Assigned homework is optional! I recommend doing it anyway. There are short pop quizzes, and group quizzes that require working with other students on the problems - which I find to be really helpful and even fun.
This professor is caring and very passionate about math. There are occasional pop quizzes, but if you did the homework, then it should be easy. Participation counts and you can go to the board and work on problems.
Professor Atique while hands out pop quizzes from time to time, he also hands out group quizzes which really helped with my grade. He really teaches the concepts of calculus very well for all of the students to understand and can answer any questions.
Professor Nabeel is very passionate about the what he teaches. His lectures are very well informed and everything on the test is on the lecture. He is very test heavy and gives out pop/group quizzes. Quizzes aren't anything crazy just on what he taught the day before. Go to class everyday & do the Hw (as much as you can).
Professor Atique's class is a great option if you want engaging lectures and are willing to apply yourself. He makes every concept easily digestible and encourages class participation to make the learning process more involved and hands-on. If you study regularly there should be no reason you cannot pass his class.
Very approachable, easy to ask questions. I never felt like I was asking a dumb question or something that wasn't helpful to the class. The class was pretty small, so he did a good job at making sure everyone in the room got involved, asking questions or asking people to solve problems. Also had group quizzes which provided easy credit.
Really good professor. He teaches very well and explains every concept thoroughly. Tests are similar to problems he gives in class and on homework. As long as you pay attention in class and take good notes, it's an easy A.
If you're looking for genuinely good teaching in calculus, take his class.
Great professor if you want to grasp Calc II. Homework isn't graded, but worth doing to reinforce what was covered in class. He's very accessible outside of class and genuinely wants his students to succeed. Most of your grade comes from 3 exams & the final, so staying engaged, studying consistently, and attending lectures will set you up to pass.
The first unit felt like he was just throwing equations at us and expected us to be able to solve them on our own. Other than that, lectures were engaging, and participation is a good chunk of your grade. However, I did feel lost most of the time because he'd just barely teach a topic, then give us a problem to solve (very hands-on teaching).
