He's a funny guy. Not too heavy of an accent, and his vocabulary consists of two words: Definitely and Right. Lectures sometimes feel drawn out (a half hour of material stretched across two and a half hours) but he keeps the material fresh and somewhat interesting. He's an easy grader, and the tests are simple if you know the material.

He has got to be the nicest and EASIEST instructor!! The labs and tests are SO EASY. He is very helpful and you will laugh at silly stuff he says. Lab is home-work that can be turned in the next class. He gives extra credit- You have to get an A in this class easily

Nabil is one of the greatest teachers ever. He is extremely nice and helpful. I didnt buy the lab book and I got a B in the class. Labs, tests and quizes were very easy. Gave us 15 minutes breaks each class but he took about 25. Great guy, take him if you can and you wont be sorry.

Mr. Kanja is the greatest teacher at Moraine. He is so sweet and hilarious! He's very helpful and informative. If you study the review..you will get an A on the tests.He offers extra credit 2.

mr. kanja is so funny! he's always in a great mood and has a great sense of humor. he's always cracking jokes while he teaches but also does an amazing job lecturing. he does a review before tests in case u missed a day or two of notes and he's an understanding guy. if u dont take his class ur stupid

if u get 10s or 9s on labs n study the review, go to the field trip which is 60 points including the 2pg paper n attending class thn u shld atleast get A or B...depends how much u study for the review...his review is the test he reads the questions off but sometimes he mixes his true n false questions so if u study the t/f ques study them gud!!

He is a very funny teacher and teaches you everything you need to know for labs and tests. He does reviews before the tests and tells you exactly what the questions are. He is very helpful if you have any questions and he has office hours almost everyday if you need the help, easy A.

Decent instructor and the nicest person you'll meet at MVCC. It's NOT an easy A. You're at least guaranteed a B if you study thoroughly and ask for help. His humor is the reason why I survived his boring lectures; labs are interesting at times. E.C is given if the class is doing poorly. Take Kanja if you want to learn and be challenged.

Professor Kanja is crazy! He sends things flying across the room during lectures and writes wrong things up on the board to make sure you're paying attention. Sometimes he confuses you with his T/F questions. But... the class was 2.5 hrs long and it was my only class that didn't get boring. Study and you'll get a good grade.

He's a good guy, he has really bad corny jokes, but you can't help but laugh at them. The class is easy, all you need to do is study for tests, which he reviews the class before the actual test. Labs are extremely easy and on lab days usually are shorter class periods because as soon as you finish, you get to leave. Lecture days are usaully longer

i love mr kanja! he cracks me up even when he's not trying to be funny. his tests are pretty easy but he lives to confuse you with true/false questions. lecture days are extremely boring but lab days aren't so bad. PAY ATTENTION DURING REVIEW DAYS. take this class.

Kanja really cares about students understanding the material and doing well. His notes are not very good and he has a very strong accent so I would recommend studying on your own. If you need to take geology, I would definitely take him. He offers a lot of extra credit and accepts late work at the end of the semester that brought me up to a B!

Listen gyus, his exams are hard and you need to study for it. Attend the reviews. Take his class seriously and attendance to him is important. His is fun and knowledgable, but you have to be there and work with him to get a good grade.

This guy is the greatest. I was so worried about having a 3 hour 8 am but he makes it go by so fast. He's always making jokes and you actually learn a lot. As log as you show up to the review days you can get a good grade. Defintely recommend taking him for geology.

Kanja is a great professor and makes a boring subject more interesting. But he doesn't use blackboard so you don't know where you are in the class until after tests. and he's not clear on grading criteria. Your grade is for 4 tests, 2 quizzes, a field trip report, attendance and about 8-10 lab reports which aren't too bad if you go to class. No EC

Study his review and you will do okay. He is an alright teacher, really help full but not the best teacher. Does not use PowerPoint and writesdraws everything on the board. Be prepared to become confused. Don't buy the book, it was useless.

Nabil Kanja is the sweetest. He really cares about his students. His jokes are so random and funny . The material he has to teach is a bit boring but I blame the material not him. I took a three hour class with him and I survived. When it comes to the exams he provided study guides and made sure you had the right answers. Great teacher & Awesome!

He's really sweet and very cheesy, he doesn't really use power points and he handwrites everything on the board. The book isn't needed, he is very helpful, he gives extra credit if he sees the class is struggling which makes him really generous. I don't really like science so i can't tell you if the class is boring or not but he's a chill guy.

nabil kanja cares for his students and keeps the lecture live with his jokes but also with his knowledge and he tries always to help us and what the previous comment said about him do not make sense. I like him because he cares about his students.

I liked his criminal justice method. Beware he uses psychology some times, but that is for your own benefit. Different than other instructors and to get a good grade you need to stop talking, stop using cellular phone, respect him and STUDY. He doesnt show it first when students do things like talking but later these students will suffer.

Okay so I've been at moraine for about 3-4 years and I am overdue to get out of here. Though I've had my up and downs with a numerous amount of classes ive never had any better than this course. Professor Kanja truly shows a passion to teach. I think many teachers and students need to appreciate this method of communication to their students.

I love this man. He made class fun, and he gave out a little bit of extra credit. Respect him and he will respect you. He was very passionate about what he was teaching and he tries to get you to understand the material. His tests were easy if you do the study guide. I enjoyed the labs that he had for us.

Kanja is passionate about Environmental science and shows for it during the course. He has this random type of humor which makes it enjoyable and his class is pretty much based on taking notes during lectures, partner class work, then group labs. There are no study guides for tests so take good notes and hold onto the class work he gives out.

Was a great teacher. Very funny and very knowledgeable on many subjects. Truly cares if each student understands and will constantly ask if anyone needed assistance. The longer classes tend to drag, but other than that he is a great guy and a very good professor.

I love him! I personally don't get into science but he makes it interesting. He is so funny that you enjoy class. He gives 3 big tests and very little homework. You must go to class to understand, he will write on the board every class and whatever he writes on the board copy it into your notes! Exactly what he writes, is what is on his test.

He was a good professor and I had no trouble with him personally. His grading was straight forward. His tests are a bit hard because there is no study guides. Otherwise he was easy and just do your work.

Took this class online, and format was very easy to follow. Course work is pretty easy and not overwhelming. Do practice quizzes because he ends up giving extra credit to people who have completed them!! Theres one assignment due at the end of every week and they are either all in the lecture or the exact same as the practice quizzes.

Professor Kanja was by FAR my favorite professor. Every week you take tests based on the module you learn. He posts a summary and has you answer questions that coincide directly with what is on the pre-test and test. He also posts powerpoints for optional learning to master a topic. There is no homework! Answer the questions, you will get an easy A

Prof Kanja is very sweet and will help you out if you have a special situation at home/life. His lectures are very easy to follow, the lectures go along with an assignment each week. Just read the lecture and youll be fine! You can tell he is very passionate about Earth Science. Overall 10/10 prof.

Professor K is a great guy and will make you laugh the whole class. His class work and homework is very easy but his exams are very hard.

I dont get where those bad reviews come from. Books are free. Obviously u need to study but he gives study guides if u answer all questions and take time to review u can pass with a B. Attendance is mandatory so make sure u show up and take notes of everything he writes. He also does all the labs in class and gives answers to it.

professor k is my favorite professors, he cares about the students he does the lab in class with the students. he gives the students a study guide for the test. books for free. if students do the lab work and quizzes they can get an easy A. at the beginning of the semester i did not get him, but once you get used to him you will like him.

you will have almost no homework, however labs are important to your grade along with the tests. sadly the tests are 100 questions long and can be a little tricky. however he truly cares about your success. best advice, go in there showing you care about your grade and willing to put in effort and he will take care of you *wink wink*

He assigns online quizzes, usually true or false, 10 questions, super easy. He encourages you to do your best. However, please respect him and his time. Don't use your phones during class. laptops, only use for notes. He often expressed to us how he feels bad that nobody pays attention to him- so please do so. Take as many notes as possible!

Of course the study guides don't have answers- come on people, it's college. Write notes down, read the online textbook, ask questions and you'll be fine. If you want the answers handed to you, what's the point? Do your work and you'll live!
