He is an amazing teacher, but you honestly have to study for his tests. Most questions are identicle in style to the textbook review questions.

You definetely need to read the textbook because there are some terms he doesn't cover in the class and it will appear in his tests and on the final. His tests are a little tricky, you need to work your grade in his class, but he is willing to explain anything if you ask.

good prof..jus pay attn and study using the hw and notes. may be a little unclear for some, but he teaches well

I love this professor, he is such a great guy, and is always willing to help. His tests are from the textbook and his final is from the textbook, identical.

This professor is not that bad. He is very lenient and understanding. His tests are kind of tricky but if you practice the homework problems and just read over the chapters atleast once you'll do fine. I had him for two semesters and I like him. Go see him for office hours and make it known to him that you want to learn.

I really enjoyed this professor. You needed to read the textbook and do the homework problems to get a good grade in class. He is a nice guy who tries to help his students the best way he can. He drops one test and if you get a 90 on the final or above he will drop two tests.

Extremely hard. The exams are hard and his notes are scattered. Study all the possible kinds of problems he might put on the test. His accent was confusing, but he was a good guy. He'll approach you if you're doing bad and try to help you a lot. I failed two tests horribly and got out with a C+. Not the best professor, but a really good man.

He is a very cool professor. Even though his accent makes him hard to understand , he does a great job of explaining chemistry. Read the textbook, do the homework problems n you shall be fine. You will do great.

Greatest professor ever, ppl who don't like him is because they don't come to class. Go to class, listen, copy his lecture notes. Pass with AAAAAs in both chem 3 and 4. Glad i took this chem pro. and i don't even like chem lolz

Great professor prior to this class I couldn't balance a chemical formula. I now know so much very nice teacher he is dedicated to making sure his students do well. He curves at the end. Try your best ask for help he notices that and will grade you accordingly

A very knowledgeable professor who tests straight from his notes and home work problems. You have to take really good, thorough notes.. I enjoyed his class and I wish I could take CHM 4 with him. He drops one of the five exams. If you do well in the end, he sometimes drop another one

He is a tough grades, gives little partial credit. He curves one grade up at the end of the semester which means if you have B he gives B+, if you do really well on the final you will get a good grade. You will understand everything, he really knows how to teach. He helps also, if you are concerned about your grade talk to him. His notes help.

He's amazing professor, he uses a lot of examples to explain the concepts well. if you want to do well in his class i highly suggest you do the homework problems and take good notes. and also he's always willing to help during his office hours.

He's a good professor. He cares about his students and wishes them to do well. Lecture isn't always fun but you still learn, which I think is decent. Those that complain that they do bad either slacks or don't go to him during office hours. He does his job. If you struggle, then the problem is not him, it's you. You earn your A so work hard.

The most helpful professor I ever had. Does not try to trick you on exams, home work are very similar to his exams. His lessons are very helpful but you have to put in as much practice as possible . I would go to his office hours after every class and he always stopped to help me. I went from a B- to a A-. Thank you professor Vasanthan.

He teaches directly from the textbook, and gives 4 class exams and a final exam. 50% of the grade is based on the class exams, 25% on the lab, and 25% on the final. He drops the lowest class exam, and curves the letter grade. Pay attention to the lectures, take good notes, and read the textbook. It is not an easy A. You have to really work for it.

A very good professor who knows his stuff and knows how to teach the material. His exams are however on the tougher side, but not hard. If you practice homework problems, you will do reasonably well. he is a generous grader.

I had him in the summer. I was doing really bad and failed the first two exams and went to talk to him. He is so helpful and I ended up doing pretty well. It was a very small class so he provided a lot of individual attention.

Dr. Nad gives great lectures and makes you understand the concepts of these topics. His exams are difficult however if you study you will do well. Students took AP chemistry like him very much

Okay, at first I may have been extremely skeptical of Vasanthan. I wasnt expecting myself to do so well, partially because I didnt take AP Chem. However, by taking this class, Im surprised at how easy the content can be and how lenient he is. But if you wanna pass, you HAVE to study the textbook questions on the syllabus. Theres no other way.

I was hesitant in the beginning of the semester bc he mumbles A LOT but he knows what he's doing. The homework questions on the syllabus aren't mandatory but doing them is the only way you can pass the exams. Easy class as long as you do the work. A few lab assignments, 4 class exams, and a final. He drops the lowest. Take him!

Professor Vasanthan is just awesome. He doesnt make up his own material, so all concepts can be studied from the textbook. His review questions are very similar to the test, which makes it super easy to study for the test as long as you understand the concepts. Do the question of the homework and they will help too!!! Just loved his class!!!

I don't think I had a more fair and caring professor than Dr. Vasanthan. He curves a lot at the end and his assigned grade was much higher than I expected. I will take him again if he teaches CHM 4

Professor Vasanthan is a great professor, test is easy if you listen to him during lecture. He gives review sheet for midterm and final and there are slides for every units. There are optional homework for every units, do it and you will pass the class. He is very kind, if you ask him question for homework, he will gladly help you.

His exams are similar to problems he does in class, literally the same just different values. When he says something will be on the exam, it will be there. Pay attention to his lectures. He curved a LOT at the end!!

You have to make sure you study the material and understand it to its full extent, especially the questions he does in class as they resemble exactly what he tests. I had Dr Vasanthan for CHM1. He was an excellent teacher. As long you do the homework problems and show up to class getting a good grade is not hard. But its a science class so it requires work, but anyone should know that going into a class like this one

Dr. V is the best chem professor at LIU and he teaches in the best ways to make you understand chem. I took this class before and I had a very bad experience. I Would recommend him for CHM 1. I was at the C+ level and he curved it B. He was the best

Just go to class, do some book problems to prepare for exams. Really good for smaller classes and cares about the small classes more.

Good teacher, posts good lectures and review on bright space, and his tests are kinda hard. very big on cheating. Don't even think about it and he will go after you rest of the semester. He is very nice professor and will help you to pass the course.

Honestly he is the best professor I ever had CHM 104 at LIU. During his lectures you can feel his passion for chemistry and how much he cares about all his students.

The professor genuinely wants you to pass. His slides are detailed and he provides practice problems before most exams. There's no homework though, so grades are based solely on exam scores.

He's an incredible professor who cares about his students and wants to make sure he can do whatever is possible to help them in the lab. I took his CHM 1 this semester and I got an A purely based on the lab reports.
