Funny, brings concepts to current events, and life, very fair.
Nader is an obvious expert in his field and brought a lot of passion to the subject, but unfortunately he was unable to leave his personal opinions at the door. It was difficult to have an exploratoy discussion with him about politics. Too opinionated.

Very educated, international affairs-oriented, insightful, explains his opinions. Recommended.
hella hot.
Educated teacher but fills the course with pointless student-based presentations. He's a major power monger as well.
One of the best prof's Cascadia has to offer. He adds the necessary opinion that even needs to hear but might not want too
There was nothing wrong the class, but he definitely picked favorites, impressed his politics and was kind of a dick about his "no late work" crap, c'mon I was in the hospital they frown upon online classwork there
Can't seem to learn how to leave his own opinion out of the discussion. Teachers need to represent themselves as unbiased, open thinkers, but Nazemi can't get off his soapbox. Also, difficult to deal with, and never reliable. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.
Took an online class - this guy was awful. 4 or 5 different deadlines a week at 6pm each day - who's always home at 6pm? I wonder if he understands that people have jobs.. I would NOT recommend him to anyone.

He is a decent teacher who appears nice and cool at the begining, but gets tougher later on. He's a nice guy who tends to try and act cool. Very liberal view of things. He says he respects your view... however, you end to get in trouble or looked down u
Makes the class fun and interesting which makes people more interested in what he has to say. His class policies can be kind of difficult; for instance if you can't make it to class on a day you have an assignment due, you're out of luck, no assignments accepted via e-mail. Overall he is a good teacher. Would take another class with him.
Nazemi can tell when you're not doing the work or putting any effort into it. I guess that's what having a Ph.D. means. So plan to work hard and he likes Blue Book tests over the MC ones. Just a heads up the bookstore isn't always open before the morning classes so you might want to have a few Blue Books for those days you wake up a little late before the test :)
I have had him for 2 classes and all i can say is be ready to write some serious papers. He likes to have a 2-3 page paper a week and usually a 10-12 page final at the end. I agree that he can be funny at time but a real hard ass other times. He says no late work but he does make exceptions in the extreems. Overall a pretty hard teacher.

He is a good teacher and knows exactly what he is talking about. His sense of humor definitely adds something to the class, makes it more interesting and fun to learn. Discussions are great. He will pick on you, he picks on everybody. There are serious paper writing, so be aware! He is always up for questions and has answers in return.

very opinionated but backs them up. can be vague on hmwrk but will explain if asked. lots of knowledge and uses class discussion more than lecture. assigns lots of papers, but they're all short and easy to do. class is structured so you really can't miss class. no late work. but take him if you can he knows his stuff.
Nazemi is one of the most talented professors in Cascadia. He is well-versed in Political Science and is quite funny. You must be have either and honest interest in the subject or be a hard worker to succeed. 2-3 page papers are given weekly, a 10-12 page paper at the end. Don't be opinionated unless you can legitimately back up your thoughts.
Note that I took the online course! Nazemi will gladly correspond and replies quickly and completely to questions or problems you may have during his course. Expect a lot of writing and regular work, and expect you'll need to be thoughtful as well in your responses. All in all, though, it was a very good course, and he seemed to be a good prof!
I took this class online. Dr. Nazemi is a good instructor, he expects a lot from his students, VERY tough but fair. Basically 2 short reflections/essays and 6 responses per week and an 8pg final paper, he does offer a few extra credit points
Sharp, funny and pretty slick. Cascadia is VERY lucky to have him!
Has no sense of reason. You could wheel your dead grandmother into his classroom and he still wouldn't give you ten extra minutes to turn in an assignment, even if he has seen the billion and ten drafts of it prior! Worthless!
I took this class online. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. It is a ton of reading and he is very critical in his grading.
excellent, funny and extremely knowledgable
great teacher. extremely helpful. funny. and knowledgeable. has great discussions and is really passionate about his topic
Nader is a very useful teacher if you utilize him correctly. Hes a hard grader but he is fair. He includes alot of information in the lectures. As long as you attend class, pay attention and spend some time on the assignments, easy enough A
I had conflicts because of work ad he helped me by giving me the assignments early. he also was willing to explain things if I didn't understand what he wanted. if yur late you will lose points for it, even if its a second.
This is one of the toughest teachers I've had. Usually I'm an A+ English student, but I was almost always getting a B on my papers. He was generally pretty reasonable and often had us laughing in class. He also offered an interesting perspective in the class. However, he is politically biased and is, at times, unfair. Still, he allows debate.
People grade Nazemi down because he assigns papers weekly and expects them to be turned in on time? You can really tell the lazy, spoiled rich kids from the interested, bright youths. The former consider community college a career. The latter realizes Cascadia is a transition school. Nader is an amazing and intelligent public servant. Q.E.D.
I love Nader. He is by far the best prof. I have had at Cascadia. He does let you in on his political belief but always shares the opposing views. He is open to debates as long as they are respectful. The classes are engaging and keep you coming back for more. The assignments are easy as long as you pay attention in class and do the readings.
Online class - I'm not sure what he's trying to teach. Very challenging class and he's not always consistent with grading.
Nader is one of the most intelligent, funny, interesting people I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. He's very helpful, very fair in representing both sides of any political argument. He does ask a lot of his students, but it's always fun assignments and class is thoroughly enjoyable. Plus, he's delicious. A+++
Great class, very interesting, highly recommended.
Very cool, amazing lecturer. Take lots of notes, he likes to see your pen moving. Also, don't take his responses to your opinions as him arguing with you, he's only giving the other side a fair chance. This is one of the best classes I've ever taken.
hes a good teacher, hes from iran, so hes got a funny accent, but it adds to his funny humor. its a awesome class, and hes an awesome teacher. but he grades hard on all assignments, you have to work your ass off for a 3.8, and 4.0 is really hard to get. but he offers lots of extra credit.
Took his online class. Have heard that he's awesome in person, but online his directions were unclear and he never gave individual feedback. I would never take an online class from him again.
Very eye opening class; Naddar was an awsome teacher, he knew his stuff. take lots of notes and pay attention and you will walk out of the class knowing alot more then you walked in
I have taken two classes with him. They are always difficult, but rewarding. I didn't get a fantastic grade either time I took his class, but I learned a lot of usefull information. He is passionate about his job, and the subjects he is teaching. He is also very helpful if you seek some time with him. Just do all of your work, and turn in ON TIME!!
He's brilliant, very VERY knowledgeable on the subject, and very reasonable. Turn your stuff in on time or let him know ahead of time what's going on and you'll do fine. He's very fair, but more importantly I learned SO MUCH from Nader. He's truly an amazing teacher. Loved every second I had in his classes. I got a 4.0 both times.
I didn't like him very much. The positive is that he knew a lot, he's very smart in his field of interest. The negative is that he has a thick accent and can be hard to understand. My biggest complaint is that he made me feel inferior to the UW students he teaches, like I couldn't learn as much as them because I'm in community college.
I took international relations & ended up withdrawing from the class. Read the negative comments they are all true. I wish I would have trusted what they had to say instead of focusing more on the good. Unless you are well versed in every aspect of politics I would advise to steer clear of this class. You'll be glad you did.
Very fun teacher decided not to do final or midterm this quarter which is kewl. Sometimes its hard to understand the assignments. He is very nice and helpfull though you have to have an interest or this class could kill you.
Took Nader for Islamic Civ. He is the perfect teacher for this topic, having roots and experiences in the Middle East himself. I also took him for a poli sci. class. He is pretty rough on grading smaller works where you are expected to have a fluent and logical idea, longer works receive considerably less attention. I learned a lot from him!
love him, he's a real professor not a joke professor
Online class - grading in this class is very strange, sometime you will get full credit other times you won't. There is no individual feedback for assignments so you never know what you did wrong and how to improve. I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone who is not already very familiar with history.
PROs: He is passionate about the subject. You don't need to be well versed in politics. Fun, active lecturing style. Open-book tests. Hilarious and playful personality. CONs: Need to be present all classes. A LOT, I repeat, A LOT of group work. May need to take up slack of people unwilling to do their part. Overall, loved the class.
Had him and LOVED he's my favorite. He's kind, fair and teaches beautifully. I was shocked when some said he had a accent because, in my opinion he didn't have the slightest trace of one.
I really enjoyed Nader. He would often crack jokes and was pretty pleasant. You did need to do the readings and take notes and generally work hard but if that is done i think you can come out with a good grade. I think he was pretty fair and extrememly interesting as a teacher
He was brilliant, funny and a joy to have as a professor! Rather hard but one of my favorite classes! I'd recommend!
Nazemi is wonderful. I had interest in politics before entering the class, but I left with a much better understanding of how global politics works and what makes it interesting. You will do well if you follow instructions and do the work. He is very intelligent and passionate about his topic.
Don't be a minute late with homework or you loose 25%. Expectations are not clear enough for proper reporting, even with an entire paragraph in the syllabus. Feedback is generic at best. Bad papers are used for, "for a good example see..." Citations are not verified or defined. Citation of outside sources is not permitted.
Very interesting material and considering his heritage, he is a fantastic selection for Islamic Civilizations. However, too much of the class is devoted to teaching you that Muslims are not bad people rather than focusing on the rich culture that has arisen around the faith.
Great teacher. I took his Islamic Civilizations course, and it definitely changed my outlook on the world. He really knows his stuff. Make sure you get your textbooks before the first test, a majority of the stuff you need to know is in the readings. Also, take some time to check out the lectures he posts on Canvas.
Nader is a great professor but, it's hard to present factual evidence in the book in his class. He is from the Middle East so he has personal experience with everything that we study. So when we would pull facts from the text book (that he assigned) he would disagree with it. That made it extremely hard to feel comfortable presenting in his class.
Very straightforward with what he wants. He often cracks jokes that are hilarious! He teaches an interesting subject, but I must worn you his class is a little on the difficult side.
Class was fairly interesting, but almost zero interaction with prof. I'm sure he has very interesting opinions on international politics but I never found out what they were. He doesn't write any original material for class (i.e. all homework is from text) and gives no individual feedback. Class might as well have been self study.
Nader is not very clear about what he wants in assignment descriptions, but his expectations are consistent throughout the quarter. He doesn't give much individual feedback, but when he does, it's beneficial. The only tests are the midterm and final, and he offers easy extra credit that isn't too inconvenient. Would recommend.
the class itself was interesting but that definitely wasn't the case for the professor, I defininitely wouldn't reccomend taking the course with Nazemi
Nader Nazemi was a pretty good professor. His grading criteria was clear and his class requirements and expectations were not too hard to follow. However, it did take him a long time to grade assignments and when grades did come back, it was rare that he would leave specific feedback on how you could improve on your next assignment.
Has a great vengance for George W. Bush. Many funny stories he puts in between lectures. Sometimes the reading material gets graphic. Lots of reading. Whatever you do, PAY ATTENTION TO THE MOVIES YOU WILL HAVE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT THEM IN YOUR TESTS
Dr. Nazemi is an expert in his field and loves it. This made the class a lot of fun. You have to go to most classes and do pay attention but his tests are open book and he grades fairly easily on group projects. Funny and laid back prof. If you respect him he'll do the same.
Great professor! Interesting class discussions, easy grading on group papers which you only need to write 1 or 2 paragraphs for, and open book tests. Took this class during election season so even more interesting.
I LOVED this class. There was some great content in the textbooks, and Professor Nazemi was so helpful in all of his feedback. He was also quick to respond to emails and kept the class up to date on when he would get papers graded. If you are okay with reading a lot and analyzing sources, this is a great class for you.
Great at engaging the class, actually learned a lot of interesting things.
He is a great teacher and knows how to interact with his students.
Nader is passionate and very knowledgeable on the topic. He can be tough to get a long with, but show respect to your-self, other classmates and him. I highly value the knowledge gained from the class.
I struggled in this class... While he was funny, grading expectations were vague and unclear. This was exceedingly difficult when trying to write papers. There was a lot of writing and a lot of reading! Do not take this class if you are not ready to dedicate lots of time to it.
Good teacher. Pro trip: turn in your work a day ahead of time and you will almost always get an A. If you turn it in the day it is due, even with the same effort put in, you'll definitely get a lower grade. This was in his online class so its all discussion responses.
I have had him for a few classes and he seems genuinely interested in the material, he always brings along interesting stories that apply to the class. Not a super difficult class if you show up and do the readings, gives plenty of time for assignments and opportunities for extra credit.
There tons of reading , but it's good stuff to know. Nader is really clear about what to do. Assignments are due the same time every week. You need to watch your word count. He gives good feedback that tells you what he is grading on. He gives extra credit that's not hard to do. All of his assignements and xtra credit make you smarter.
I had an online class, but I have heard he's hilarious in person. I would definitely recommend taking his classes! His class quickly became my favorite last quarter. He offered lots of extra credit, which helped me get a 4.0 in the class. I do recommend buying the textbook before class (it is mandatory for a good grade).
It seems like a hard class, but as long as you do the assignments every week, you should get a good grade. Definitely check if you cited things correctly 'cause he docks of points if you don't. Overall, the class was interesting and I learned a lot. Another thing I liked is that Nader gives many opportunities for extra credit which really helped me
I took two classes from Nader. His assignments are useful. He makes it clear how to get full credit and is strict with that. I was hours late on one tough assignment (that took days to do) and got 0pt. He allows extra credit though so i caught up. He's fair. There is a lot of reading but if you engage you will enjoy it.
I hope to take Dr. Nazemi's class in person, I liked his online class. You do read, write, and think a lot but that is to be expected with a global studies class. He will help you as long as you ask and is kind and respectful. I think you can get a good grade if you put in the right amount of effort, and he offers extra credit sometimes too.
Professor Nazemi is a great history teacher but be prepared to drop $150 on textbooks. Additionally, you will have to do a lot of reading every week and write two 350-500 word essays on what you read. As long as you answer the writing prompts with evidence, you will usually get full credit. There is also a lot of opportunities for extra credit!
He has very high expectations and is very unclear/ vague. When you ask for clarifications he is sarcastic and blatantly rude. I would not take this class again. When I asked a clarification question he responded very rudely and then when I didn't respond within a few days he sent me another sarcastic email that ended in
Grades very few things, four group projects and five tests. DO NOT miss class the day group projects assigned. Tests are very broad, they cover everything in the class that had been discussed or assigned to read. The reading is pretty bland and there's a lot of it. Very carefree and talkative and sarcastic. I rlly liked him, taken his class twice.
Easily the most specific and rudest teacher I have ever had. Would not take again and would not recommend for those with busy schedules. When you email for clarification he is vague and rude. All the negative comments are true! opt for another teacher!
Being a conservative, I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Nazemi. He treated all opinions well, not equally of course, but he acknowleged biases and encouraged everyone to share. I felt like the class wasn't hard as long as you pay attention in class. Buy books, but sparingly open them. You refer to readings in HW, but you can coast without reading.
Only four group projects and five tests, so watch out. Engaging lectures which sometimes turn into discussions. Very knowledgeable about polysci and a fun guy all around.
Nader is usually rude and unhelpful. There was no real learning in his class, just reading. Asking for his help was useless as he either didn't respond or he just gave useless and/or harsh advice. I would never take his class again. He makes learning unenjoyable.
TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE Every week there are two 350-500 word discussions and that's it. Even the exams are that. Inclass, people said was a lot harder. Usually 1-2 chapters for reading, but some weeks had more. Lots of EC opportunity. He is harsh when you ask question and class structure is weird but its easy, so meh. Interestin readings if you care
Good class. Weekly discussion board posts with 2 responses to other students. Sometimes gives extra credit opportunities of 2 extra responses. These are the only things given & graded on. Not a tough grader. Great feedback. One of the books was kinda boring for me because it was so detailed. Midterm & Final are basically 2 discussion board posts.
I was completely new to the Political Science world before taking this class, like I had no prior knowledge at all. Each week we had 2 discussion boards that required us to talk about the required readings (from the textbook). The final is two easy essays, I recieved full credit and each of mine were only 1 page.
I respect this professor a lot but the issue is his grading. He is all over the place with grading and you never know if you will get an A or a D when posts are almost identical. Even if you follow his criteria to a T he still does not think this is enough. My grades have ranged from A's to D's in this class.
Really knows his stuff and does a great job at explaining everything and presenting all sides of issues. Makes a lot of jokes. Tests were a good difficulty. The only thing that I didn't really like were the group projects. There were four of them and they were a lot of the grade. If you do the readings and show up to class you should be fine.
One of the nicest professors you will ever meet, he is very humble and actually cares about his students. The class isnt tough making sure that you read the texts is really important and doing the discussion boards. I took his online class during the summer and its been so far the best decision I have ever made. Do yourself a favor and take him.
Easily worst prof Ive ever had. Get ready to never have clear expectations on his grading and get an A one day and 0 points the next. DO NOT TAKE HIS HISTORY CLASS. Save yourself
TERRIBLE TEACHER. The most disrespectful and rude professors I've had. He yelled at a student for yawing in class. Ridiculous policies make missing one day during group projects (which are going on all quarter) a loss of 20% of your grade, NO EXCEPTIONS. He doesn't accept doctor's notes as an excuse. Useless lectures, lots of busy work. DONT TAKE!
Took him winter quarter and its been interesting. The online class has two discussion posts and responses. He offers several EASY extra credit points. He can be a tough grader, but its clear. As long as you do the reading and make sure to follow the prompts, youll do well. Also! Try to always include quotes from his lectures, he loves that.
Had him for online class, man, he is HELLA NICE. Ive seen some negative replies, but I had him for an online course so maybe hes nicer there. Anyways, VERY nice. Always gives extra credit, always gives feedback on assignments. He has expectations but if you just follow directions youre fine. He treats you like a person, which I appreciated.
Pretty good professor, especially with all the COVID stuff. We had two assignments on canvas each week plus responses to others. Responds quickly, and we only had around 3 or 4 quizzes. Pretty strict on late work, but I didn't mind the class. A good choice, especially if you're looking for an online professor.
kind of hard but very straight forward and interesting class. online the assignments are mostly 350 word discussion posts and 2 replys but still a great class.
Overall I enjoyed this class, there were extra credit opportunities every week, his grading is a little tough but pretty easy assignments. There is a lot of reading to do. I didn't like how little time he gave us to do quizzes but they are open book.
I've had Professor Nazemi twice while I was at Cascadia, and while it wasn't the worst class I wouldn't recommend any of his classes during COVID-19. He is not understanding if you make any mistakes and will grade you based on how politically aligned you are to his own political beliefs. Lots of reading and the same usual 350-500 word posts weekly.
A very work heavy course. I wouldn't recommend taking this course if you have other demanding subjects. Despite the workload, I really enjoyed his course and learned a lot from it.
Solid online course. Weekly discussions and lots of reading. Clear instructions. Overall, I enjoyed this course and learned a lot. The reading can be dense but the discussions help guide you.
Took his class during COVID-19, he has an excellent online class that was easy to navigate and figure out what I needed to do each week. My only gripe was with his grading, it was had to apply feedback on past assignments as he was a few weeks behind. Overall would recommend to anyone.
I actually ended up liking POLS& 101 more than I thought I would. There were 2 weekly discussion posts every week that had to be 350-500 words each, and then responses. We had a quizzes every-other-week that were only 30 multiple choice and true or false questions. We were also given extra credit opportunities for extra discussion post responses.
vague assignments. a lot of reading. ridiculous rules. tough grader. unhelpful feedback.
overall the class was average, make sure to read the syllabus and pay attention to assignment requirements. She offers a few small extra credit points. The assignments aren't difficult but are time consuming. My one problem with this professor is that she doesn't grade fast enough, so I didn't get feedback on my mistakes soon enough to fix them.
While professor Nader Nazemi gave students the opportunity on a couple assignments to receive extra credit. His grading criteria makes absolutely no sense, he does not teach but rather throws readings and films at students. I went from a 102% in his class to an 80% (mind you I am an A student). Email him & his responses are unhelpful & snarky.
The good Not much homework to do, just have to write 2 350 word replys/week Lots of extra credit available The bad Quizzes are ridiculous. The are open-book but the questions are oddly specific and you only get 30 mins for 30 questions. VERY SLOW grader, usually a month behind despite the little amount of work
I love Professor Nazemi. I took his POLS 101 class and also got a 4.0. He provides lots of extra credit opportunities and the workload is consistent from a week to week basis. Also, in both of the classes I've taken of his he has canceled quiz two and given everyone 100%. Read the assigned texts, carefully read the prompts, and do the xtr credit.
He gave clear feedback for assignments and as long as they followed his specific criteria, it wasn't extremely difficult. However, there is a strict lateness policy (lose 20% every hour) and it can become difficult to make it up if it accumulates. Quizzes are not unmanageable; a standard 1 a week, but it's best to stay on top of the assignments.
Same thing every week. 2 discussion posts 350-500 words in length. You could write a bad analysis of the topic and get 100% as long as you meet the word limit and cite the assigned readings a few times. He does not give any feedback on your analysis of the topic. On our final quiz he included questions from a chapter that was never assigned to us.
Do not take this professor if you do not like reading. The assignments will have you read about 5-10 pages depending on what you are reading. He does not grade fast enough which does not leave me enough time to fix them for future assignments. I have been pretty good in my classes but this was just not it. Didn't need to be this complicated!
He is one of the worst online professors I have taken. He does not have a rubric but he takes off half of the points if your post is too long or doesn't reference the textbook. He also barely gives any feedback and does not accept late work even if you reach out to him.
He is so fake in his positivity. He barely gives any feedback but takes off a lot of points. He also isn't super accessible. I messaged him on canvas about a grade I got and instead of answering my question, he told me to leave the comment directly on the post and I did that for a couple of posts, and he did not respond to it.
His policies for completing work are the weirdest ever for a 100 class. First off, everything is due at 11pm instead of the norm of like 11:59pm which is like okay, except he then takes off 20% from your grade FOR EVERY HOUR LATE!? and he doesn't accept late work for any reason at all?! he also does not respond to emails.
Prof Nazemi is a pretty good professor; he gave encouraging feedback. The readings are pretty heavy, so make sure to make some time for those. He gives out some extra credit, and his quizzes are open notes. Unfortunately, the quizzes are about 30 multiple choice questions and only 30 minutes.
Professor Nazemi taught an interesting class. He is very passionate about the subject. Harsh late work policy but plenty of extra credit. Strict about attendance especially during group work.
lazy and way too harsh of a grader for an intro class that everybody takes for credits. Takes a long time to respond and responds very arrogantly. I get the feeling this guy thinks having a doctorate makes him superior to students, many of which have literally not been alive long enough to get their degrees. Thats like dunking on a kindergardener
Phenomenal. As long as you do everything on time and have some citations in your discussion posts he gives full credit. There's an open note/book quiz every other week and no exams. 2 discussion posts are due every week and there are 3 group pjcts. Tons of fairly straightforward extra credit. I passed with a 120% lol. He's honestly a great guy too!
Lots of EC opportunities. A good class just to get basic credits in. There are 5 quizzes (30 MC questions in 30 min) throughout the course and they're all solely based on the textbook. There isn't much student-teacher interaction, esp bc the "lectures" are simple PowerPoints that sum up the readings. Assignments were simple and easy to understand.
Online class: very work heavy, so much reading. Strict late policy, VERY slow grader & no rubrics. Bad communication: formal, unclear, unhelpful, & rude. Feedback all canned/copy-pasted. Tough quizzes, 30 mins/30 questions. He made mistakes in quizzes, poor quality content. Good learning in the class but pretty bad professor experience, for me.
I took his class online over the summer, so things might've been a bit different, but regardless he has shown zero flexibility and is a ridiculously hard grader. Dr. Nazemi accused me of plagiarism on a post I wrote entirely by myself, and he did not use a plagiarism or AI checker before making those claims even after I requested it.
Each week a chapter and a film are assigned to create 2 essays (350 - 500 words). He leaves constructive feedback on each assignment. On weeks where there's a quiz, he limits assignments to 1 essay and gives opportunities for extra credit. Course is well organized. Don't procrastinate on the readings and you'll do fine. Great professor.
Don't take this class yall. He is super strict with grading. I have an A in the class but it's actually really hard. Everything has to sound very well written in order to receive a good grade. You only have one attempt at completing all of the assignments, and if you submit a second one he will refuse to read it. Only here to get my HS requirements
Dr. Nazemi is probably the best professor I've ever had! I've had him for three courses now and he continues to amaze me. He manages to integrate our lessons with what's going on in the world today. He gives many extra credit opportunities and is easy to get a hold of. 10/10 recommend and I wish I could take more classes with him.
he is either a tough grader or a person who's easy to please. I either got 20/20 or 5/20 on assignments, no in between. he grader super late but whenever I turn in homework a few days late he deducts a lot of points. I hate hate hate this class. would never take again.
He says you don't need the textbook all quarter he lies. He will grade your assignments a 0 and say it didn't meet the word or textbook requirement when there was none to begin withAlso he'll close your quiz before the deadline and tell you its too late to take itNever take this teacher, its a waste of time and money Save yourself from him please
His passing grade for 2.0 is 87% and 4.0 is 100. anyone of his assignments thats out of 20 points hell give you less than 10 points and blame it on a lack of word requirment and textbook however he stated in the post that there was no need for either
very easy class if you complete all the readings and do not procrastinate.
He's a good teacher. There was a lot of work in his class, but if you put in the effort and the time, you'll get a good grade. He is pretty strict with due dates and word limits. The only thing I didn't like was that being absent during a group project will knock off some of your points, but that's where the extra credit comes in.
okay so, he gives a lot of assignments but if you don't procrastinate you can get by, sometimes if the homework is really hard I would skip it and do another extra credit assignment so it was easy. I liked him, good guy.
I wasn't looking forward to taking this class, but Professor Nazemi made it an enjoyable experience for me. He is super funny and makes lectures entertaining. Weekly textbook reading, definitely a college-level textbook. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Assignments consist of reading responses, discussion posts, and three group projects.
Easily one of the worst professors at Cascadia. He will respond to your message in 3 weeks if you are lucky and put the blame on you for his late response and unclear instructions. He pretends to be nice but he has a condescending and sarcastic attitude toward his students. I wish good luck to everyone who has to take this guy's class.
Professor Nazemi is a tough grader but he is not as strict as everyone makes him out to be. He gives good feedback, is understanding, and responds to emails quickly. This was a pretty asynchronous course overall though, he was barely teaching and most of the learning came from reading the textbook on your own.
ngl idk why people complain about lots of work or hard grading. He funny just follow the rules no phones. Online quizzes every 2-3 weeks all terms are from the book get the book online. No finals or midterms A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT I ended with 120%. Show up for the Group Projects, or you fail. Reflection post requirements are clearly in the syllabus
I've had a challenging experience with this class. The grading seems inconsistent, and it often feels like the rules are changed without clear communication. Additionally, it seems like the syllabus isn't always followed, which adds to the confusion. I hope for improvements in these areas.
He is a nice person, he does seem enjoyable. However he is extremely picky sometimes with the work he is given and his assignments can be long. His grading can be tough sometimes and he does give good feedback but it would be nice to not be so difficult with his expectations.
I chose this course because I love history class, but he gave my grades a low rate I didn't deserve at all and gave 0 to my last grade. Even though I did it.
Prof Nazemi's class is manageable if you stay on top of the readings and engage with the material. The open-note quizzes and extra credit opportunities help offset the workload. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for quiz prep.
I would only recommend this class if you do not mind a lot of reading. Professor Nazemi assigns required reflection posts based on course readings. He also will assign group projects. All quizzes are open book and open note, so it should not be a difficult class as long as you engage in the course readings.
The worst teacher ever in Cascadia, not helpful nor following syllabus and nor helping you with a fair grading, he always gets you with a low grade and then blames you for it. He won't follow his syllabus and will come out with a random excuse and pretend like he don't know what you're saying or talking about 👎 I will never get his classback again
Fair grader
Dr. Nazemi is super nice, however, he assigns a lot of work. There was about 100 pages of reading each week and then a 400-800 word discussion post due Thursday. 2 replies were required for each discussion post that is 100-200 words. He offers a LOT of extra credit - take advantage of it! The quizzes are hard but extra credit balances it out.
do all your work and try to never have to communicate with him because you either won't get a response or will get an extremely unhelpful/passive aggressive response. do the extra credit because, as he says, there will come a time you might need it, especially because of his chaotic grading style. just know you'll have a lot of work!
There's a lot of reading and weekly reflections, but he is not a tough grader and gives good feedback on reflections. There are five quizzes—30 questions in 30 minutes—which can be a bit challenging, but the lowest score gets dropped. He also gave the whole class a 30/30 on a quiz as a reward for good work!
Prof Nader was a tough grader, he often knocked off points for little things which bugged me. He offered an extra credit assignment almost every week of the quarter, though its pretty easy to get an A if you just do the weekly assignment. Class is pretty boring and repetitive, with similar writing assignment every week. Only a few open note quizzes
Homework does take time, but because of this, I retained a lot of what we learned. Generous amount of extra credit, so please do not hesitate to take this class! Quizzes are open-book and can be easily located in the online textbook.
The main problem with the class was he was against phones in class and called you out and if you did work for other classes, he would call you out. He called me out for texting a classmate from this class about a group project we had due that day, I texted to not disturb the class since he was talking. Make sure to do the extra credit, it saved me.
Oddly passive aggressive during communication. He also grades pretty harsh knocking off points for little things. Lots of reading in the textbook, but that was fine with me. I took the class fully online and we had weekly readings and discussion posts.
Great teacher and class in my opinion. Very easy to get an A because of the extra credit assignments.
Professor Nazemi is super awesome! He docks points on minor things, but offers plenty of extra credit to make up for it. Be prepared for weekly readings and written reflections! Make sure you attend class; he occasionally grades on attendance. I am so glad I took his class, and I feel so much more prepared to participate in democracy in the future!
This professor is good if you don't mind group work. He does require attendance and takes points off if you don't show up. His lectures are informative, but he does talk a lot. He does expect participation. And constant group work, every assignment has a group discussion. Don't fall behind in the reading, as it will be used in every class
The subject material itself was interesting but this class was very discussion heavy and classes were quite boring. Tons of extra credit, an easy A but you have to put time into reading and writing. Nazemi could be quite rude to students and was strict about doing hw from other classes/having phones.
Great professor! Class was easy and manageable overall, with only 1 assignment per week, not including the biweekly quizzes. Many, many extra credit opportunities. The only reason it's 4 and not 5 is that he would be very picky about AI and textbook edition. Ask me to clarify every assignment several times, even though it showed up as 0% every time
Lots of options for extra credit. Only does reflection posts a week, usually based on 1 or 2 chapters. Does have films. Made us read THE WORST BOOK EVER "Blood Diamonds" bc it was so hard to follow. Drops 1 quiz and don't forget to respond to your peers. I ended w extra credit because it was that good. Average/easy and responds fast to emails :)
