She doesn't help anyone. once she establishes your first grade, you will never go higher. once a B always a B no matter what! worst teacher

This instructor is very rude to students, she has a very harsh way of grading, please avoid her courses! I earn A grades in other 200 level English courses and with this instructor, I barely passed. She has favorites and will always attempt to make her class more difficult than it has to be. Very negative view on this rude instructor.

My major was initially English literature but she made me hate writing. I got my passion back thanks to the professor I took for 101 & 102 tho. The worst profeoor ever. Ive taken eng 102 & calc 3 & o- chem & physics ( yes, now im no longer english major)and i got all As cept her eng 28 class and i worked harder than any other class.

When taking her class she is a very hard grader and wants something to always be written her way if you do something wrong you will be graded bad. She is also very rude when asking a simple question she answers as if your dumb. Never taking her class again She made me hate English

She is a very rude teacher she expects us to know everything already so it makes her job easier and she doesn't need to teach as much her grading is awful i really tried my hardest in that class and she would mark you points for small things

She really isn't worth the class. She excepts you to know everything. As well as being rude and obnoxious. I do not recommend taking her class.

If I could give this professor a lower score, I would. This class is college reading and composition "1". It's not supposed to be as hard as advanced writing classes. She's so unpredictable. She has videos but they don't exactly make sense. Just enroll in someone else's class instead. I was doing well but she's so nit-picky! Avoid at all cost!

If you need to take English 101, look for other options. This professor makes her student write too much papers and too much reading not realizing that the amount of workload can be excessive for her students. We have other classes we need to handle too and personal lives. If you also have a job like most people, the workload will stress you out.

Not really worth taking her. There's so much writing and she always finds something to pick on on your paper. Seems to forget we go to community college and this class is introductory and not an actual university.

This teacher is super tough. She focuses on format and not on the actual essays. Can't miss a page number & grammar has to be perfect. But the problem is that you try so hard on writing good essays and she doesn't care. Too many assignments and reading. The answers have to be what she is looking for. Can't be anything else or you get a bad grade

She has been the only Professor who has made me feel very discourage in her class. Her comments are mostly about what you did wrong rather than trying to correct you. she never points out the good only the bad.

She has two essays that have to have 5 paragraphs and are due under 90min. She is such a tough grader and she knows it. She expects for you to know MLA format and have no error on your essays. She only points out what you are doing wrong and she does not help you during office hours, she just makes you feel more dumb. I wouldnt take her for at ALL

Worst professor I have ever experienced in my life. Bases everything on subjectivity and how well you can sway her with your words. If you don't write what she wants it will result in a massive point deduction.

So many reading's with very little time given. Tough grader, to much homework on the reading's considering we have other classes and personal lives as well. Does not accept late work.

Omg! My worst experience ever! The worst Professor i ever met in my life. She expects you so much, always complaining about the assignments, never praises your work. I should've believed the reviews about this professor. She was so rude to me when I asked her questions about the essays. She instead of helping me, she made me feel as if I was not capable of writing an essay. She never gives positive feedback .

Professor Elahi was one of the worst Instructors I have ever had in my 1st semester of college. She expects you to do so much assignments/essays, never praises your work. She doesn't respect your time management in life, I had to do 5 major essays and She doesn't give you positive feedback, does not accept late work. AVOID TAKING HER CLASS.

Rudest person. Gives advice and counseling without consent. Focuses on MLA; not a single lesson on English composition. Interesting readings, but her arrogant attitude ruins the class. Elahi knows she is a bad teacher; so a survey is never provided. If you're already enrolled and suffering her abuse, contact her Dept. Chair and elevate a grievance!

Truly one of the worst professors I have come across. It's unfortunate the light she paints LACC in. Her teaching is all over the place, and then gets mad at the class for not understanding. She had a rude tone with everyone. It's clear she has deeper-rooted issues she has yet to work through. Would not wish her class on my worst enemy.

I regret taking this class with her; I should have read the reviews first. She nitpicks small issues and discredits the effort and time put into the papers. It seems like she might be short on time to thoroughly read all the submissions. There are few recorded lectures, and some are from last year.

LACC is the only college I've attended that keeps bad teachers. I've reported professors that went shirtless on zoom, professors that grade me and another students paper as a experiment I copied exactly differently. One receiving a F one receiving a A. Same answers. Yet whenever these get escalated, LACC keeps them. Elahi is the FINAL BOSS

She forgot to mention the stench of curry left on all my papers on the syllabus. Elahi is a reminder of why her father was right about her sticking to the convenience store family business.

Another powerless Teacher from the plentiful roster of the LACC faculty. She dominates her students to give herself the illusion of power by intentionally abusing her students. She finds pleasure in giving intentional low grades. Occasional full 10 points are given to throw you off, as your 100 point assignments will be given close to zeroes.

This Teacher is the angry big girl you find at your local bar that is awkward and doesn't want to be there. The one that loosens up after a few drinks, and aggressively tries to befriend you. Lots of demons in her closet. Don't expect to learn anything. You're used as a punching bag for her insecurities.

Ah yes. Teachers. The only job in which their bosses complain about budget cuts, and take what they can get. In every other job if you so much as make one tiny mistake, you have a supervisors breathing down your neck. However as a Teacher, you could have hundreds of pages of poor reviews about you, and you still keep your job unpunished.

Don't take this class unless you want to pay for all the men that broke her heart. (Or rejected her) She is a clearly a man hater. Expect 2 grades lower if you're a man, and one grade lower if you're a pretty girl

What a waste of my time! Don't ever take her classes! She doesn't respect her students time and efforts!!! I am going to make sure that the English department at LACC is aware of her discriminatory actions towards her students. Her mediocre lectures don't teach you anything! All the previous comments couldn't be more true and accurate!

She responds to every email, or assigns homework writing as if she has a stick up her you know what. She is critical of how you write, yet her own sentences are written like a foreigner who speaks English as a second language. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be writing in English or learn Indian for her to understand and pass me in the class.

They need to make a website where they show what the professors look like before we take them. The uglier they are, the worse they teach. I've never had a hideous professor be nice or not intentionally try to fail me. They need to start hiring instagram models at these campuses so we can truly learn and be rewarded for our endeavors, not big foot

To anyone currently taking her class. Report her to the district. That way we don't fail the class. it's clear she's abusing all of us. If one person reports her they won't take us serious. Every report matters.

Hate to break it to you guys. But the school district is controlled by the new world order. They specifically tell teachers to use their teachings to Brain wash students, and fail them. The more students they fail, the longer they get to stay. The only campuses in which they do that more subtly are the rich schools, , because the students can sue.

I am sent from the future. Before this class, I was a straight A student on my way to become a neuro surgeon. Now I am a homeless on the side of the road. I recently discovered a time traveling machine, and have come to tell myself to not take this class.

She really made her own imdb and added editor of LACC magazine apart of her resume. Really? -_- that's the accomplishment that allows her to fail students, and be a known it all? LACC magazine EDITOR?!

Time to hire artificial intelligence to be our teachers. At least they won't be biased, and every students work is graded fairly and equally. What do they do anyways besides upload terrible pre lectures, and assign homework? They are useless in society and a waste of our tax money.

Only time you will receive full points is if you take a quiz, or she says she's busy grading your paper so she decided to give one of your 10 point assignments a full 10. She herself will never personally give you full credit however. She gives you the full 10 because she's busy giving your 100 point Essay a 0.

After reading the reviews, I find it funny that the students that failed have perfect writing, but the students that praise the professor, and tell everyone to work hard, and push yourself, bragging about their grade write like 2nd graders. Think I'm going to have my 9 year old brother write my next essay so I can pass the class.

Report this teacher to the head of EnglisChair. I doubt they will get rid of her as she has so many complaints already. But it opens a track record for the future when these schools finally get exposed for their haneous crimes

Only cares about MLA Format. Has no examples of MLA Format. She repeatedly tells us to review the MLA format but that section is just a study guide asking us questions not actually teaching. Class is rigged to fail.

Worst school I've ever attended horrible teachers and classmates. Lowest IQs I've ever seen. Transferring out immediately.

Avoid this class at all costs, even if another professor is not available. It's a guaranteed F, and waste of time.

Never in my life have I met a Teacher so obvious in the fact that she intentionally gives low grades. Other Teachers I always felt as if there's a potential chance. But this Teacher is not low key about it all. She will literally give you 10 to 20 points on a 100 point Essay, because you misplaced one comma or period. Absolutely monsterous

Traumatizing experience

Was excited writing my first paper. I eagerly waited for a few days to receive my grade and entertained what grade of would get. I kept telling myself I'll get an A, but realized I must keep my expectations low and I'll be fine with a B. I received an F.

We are living In a simulation and not all of us are real players. This professor was created by our simulation developers to be a obstacle in our life for research

I don't know much, but I know that I am a competent and compelling writer. Professor Elahi thinks she is, but this is just one of her many delusions. Read her blog (Pakistani Southern Belle) and see for yourself. Her only focus is MLA formatting. She will neuter your writing and render you a literary eunuch. Nothing is ever good enough for her.

She recommended that everyone meet with a tutor who was one of her past students to proofread our essays. I did just that. The tutor said it was up to Elahi's standards and what she expected. Elahi gave me a C on it. I then dropped the class due to her unattainable standards.

Extremely punishing on papers and MLA formatting. Was forced to be absurdly precise with thesis statements, topic sentences, etc. It is POSSIBLE to get an A, but I had to go to the writing center multiple times. The work I did to get an A in this class was more than all of my other classes in 4 semesters COMBINED. Would not go through it again.

Keep in mind over 100 bad reviews were removed. She has over 200 0's.

Would not take it ever again

She's very moody and gets upset over the smallest things. Her grading is also wild because she is so picky about the essay formats and gets mad over the smallest of things, like if a student forgets certain readings or if there isn't much participation going on she will start to yell. She has such high expectations that can never be met.

just took her online summer class. Wow!!!!! She grades way too rough. I asked for help in getting better grade, she said "your grade is not my responsibility"
