good teacher what can u say Habib is just Habib and none the less a good teacher

Had her two years ago. All i can say is this "If you can't take the heat then stay out of the kitchen". Most challenging course I've had so far! You really gotta bite the bullet with this prof...its the only way! AND do your readings!!!

the course is hard at first, but she's a really great and enthusiastic teacher. I highly recoomen her course.

I really like her teaching style i found her lectures easy to remeber because she tells everything and then relates it to a story. I thought she was an awsome prof and would highly recomend her to anyone!

Yeah, people give her a hard time but common now, of course she'll be bias, she's teaching a politics class and saying a lot of things people aren't ready to hear. she rocks the boat and pulls no punches. i loved her class. looked forward to it, even when she pissed me off for being a hard marker. Nahdia does not give away the A's. you gotta work!!

I don't think Nadia is as rude as people are saying - a lot of the time when she's calling someone out and being rude, it's because the person left their cell phone on in her class, are talking, or whatever. She knows her subject reasonably well, and generates discussion. I found she wasn't too bad, and she was nice when I had health problems.

I DO think that Nadia Habib is very open minded and cares about Social Justice - this is admirable!!!!Sometimes people have a hard time trying to get to understand Nadia. She only cares about us not coming in late, so that we can get the information she is telling us from the beginning of class.

She is a T.A. for Huma 2815 Islamic Traditions and to tell you the truth she's nice. I mean she has her days with the remarks, but she can't help it if ther e are really dumb people in the class. Overall, she's a tough T.A. be straightforward, and DO NOT **** to her. BE NICE, and no attitude. Be attentive, and listen.

Great teacher. Sometimes people have a hard time trying to understand why she cares so much about our education. People need to stop looking at her negatively. She does truly care about our education, and the fact that she is very open-minded, is a great quality. Look at her positives - she has many!

Interesting teaching method, which made her one of the best profs I've had so far. you don't need to read the kit, because her lecture are good. Hated group presententations, would have preferred nadia lecture. She is rude and mean, but she's also an excellent prof. She relates everything she teaches to real life, making it easy to remember.

Great teacher! I LOVED her! she made everything interesting and fun. Can be a bit boring, but if you get in the conversation, its engaging. Always lets you out a bit early, and gives you a FULL review before an exam. She really wants people to succeed, unless ofcourse you give off them impression you don't care. LOTS of reading.

i love nadia, i love her dedication to the subject. she can be biased towards some students but the amount of info you can learn from her is amazing. it is definitely worth to take this course if you want to know how the world really works. by far the best course i've taken.

At fisrt i thot she was terrible coz she made a big deal about pple beng late and all, but with time i got to understand that she's very passionate about the subject that she teaches so she requires undevided attention.She knows her stuff inside out, backwards, foward, which ever posiible way u can think. I highly recommend her, u'll learn a lot.

There are a few courses in your university career that you will always remeber. Nadia's course was one of them. It actually challenged me to think in new ways and opened my eyes to a lot of things. ill never forget all the things this class taught me. Nadia, beyond what all the other previous comments may have said, was very helpful to myself and to people who were in my group. Shes a fair marker and if you do your work youll do well.

she is the best prof I've ever had. I love her class and really learn from her. She is tough, down to earhth and reasonable. I love her.

Nadiah expects respectful conduct in her classes. She can be a bit rude, but if you are respectful to her, she will be fairly respectful to you. I suspect that some of the people complaining are the people who frequently talk during lecture or who don't bother to turn off their cell phones. She's not very tolerant of either of those.

She is the kind of person that you either love or hate, & she knows this. She said on day 1 that she might rub you the wrong way, and if so to leave. However, regardless I found her very knowledgeable and helpful, but see her during office hours. She loves what she does & is very understanding of learning disabilities. I think she is wonderful.

She is a pretty good prof. I really am enjoying her class. I hope she is reading this so I can give her some constructive criticisms: 1) Clean up your grammar. You make a few specific grammar errors that drive English majors crazy. 2) Say '**ET** cetera'. 3) Don't beat the ideas into students' heads. 4) Facilitate discussion more. That is all. : ))

looooove her!!!!! u need to understand her approach, if u will attend ech and evry class u will be appriciated and it will be shown in your mark. i took the class in the summer and got an A. she is very interesting person and everybody should take this class!

honestly, if you work hard and attend her lectures you will do fine. the course material is interesting and easy. also, prof habib uses good examples which helps you remember for exams. her exams were fair and just dont be late for her class. overall, she may be a little too much but she has good intentions for all her students. h

i really don't understand what everyone's saying. I know she has her days with moods, but she tells you exactly what to do for the assignments and the exam. full preparation and so many opportunities to make sure you get it cuz she gives in-class time too. MUST DO THE READINGS and remember the terms, guarantee A

She is absolutely amazing! Yes she is moody, she does have a tendency to swear, she does not like lateness as she sees it as a mark of disrespect and a disturbance to the class already in progress..and I agree....but she is wonderful...won 2nd place in TVO best lecturer ...look it up...She has personal life stories that tie into study material.

Nadia is an excellent prof! I have taken 2 classes with her and they were great. She can be a little extra sometimes - but to be honest its because she gets pissed off when people come to class late(5mins.lol), talk in class/ use their cell phones. If you don't do any of that- trust me, you'lI enjoy her lectures and do great overall :)

Great Prof and Person. She has her own values and beliefs but doesnt impose on anyone. she is through in lectures and there to help if you need any. Be on time and respectful and you wont have an issue with her. Do your work, readings, attend class and yes you will get an A

Currently taking her summer school course. You either love her or hate her as a teacher and person. You can tell she strongly lives by what she says. Very much worthy of respect and attention. However, if you are sensitive this is not the class for you. She does not refrain from public humiliation if you are an idiot.

Rule #1 Do not be late. She will call you out in front of everyone. #2 No phones or laptops. #3 No talking when shes talking. She's very strict with these three rules but honestly, best prof to date. You can tell she LOVES what she teaches, you will NEVER get bored & on top of that, she came third in Canada for best lecturer. NO DOUBT fav course.

She might come off as intense at first and this may turn some people off but it comes down to respect. Don't come late to class, turn your phone on silent, no laptop distractions & don't talk while she/someone is talking. She gives good lectures, posts the notes before a class, and assignments/tests are fair. Attend class/tutorials/do readings.

Ok, I know she's intense, but it's PASSION. She is exactly what I wanted in a professor, she is like a television professor, firm but respectful and expects respect back, knowledgable but not inaccessible. Take a class with her, leave you baggage at the door, just be receptive to her. She trains you to be a real scholar, listen and learn.

LOVED this class! She has a story for everything she explains so it makes course content much easier 2 understand. She's very in2 lecs so they're far from boring. Whatever you do, don't come in late. She'll embarrass you in front of the class! All readings r posted on Moodle so u don't have 2 buy books. Not 2 much work. I'd take her classes again.

LOVED. THIS. CLASS. Although i agree shes not clear with her assignments but I love the way she explains her theories and she can be rude if you go to class late but overall, if you go to class regularly, do your work on time and listen in lectures youll be fine.

I am really not sure how I feel about her. She's very funny and knows what she's talking about. Teaches you to become a knowledgeable, open minded person. But she can also be very rude & presenting in front of her is a nightmare. Not very clear on what she wants in assignments either. Try and get your T/A to mark your stuff. Lectures posted online.

if you show up late to a performance, the performer takes offence so dont be late. She gets mad at students who come in late & disrupts her lecture nothing else. She is passionate about what she teaches & opens your eyes. She always informs students of everything & ALWAYS replies to emails. Great prof, loved her! taking her other course now :)

She isn't always the easiest person to get along with. She will call you out if you come in late, etc. However, she is a very good teacher. She is passionate about course material and she can be very inspiring. Overall, she has thought provoking lectures that will benefit you if you are interested in the subject.

The material may not always be interesting but the professor always made it engaging. She made an effort to learn student's names, ask for our opinions and talk to us. Can come off as intimidating but is quite rational and understanding if you talk to her one on one. VERY passionate and knowledgable. A great prof.

Nadia is one of York's best professors. What she wants from her students is clear, and her teaching style allows grasping of complex concepts in an easy manner. The films and readings she assigned in class were really engaging. She made lectures enjoyable and fun, but DO NOT BE LATE, especially on the first day or she will call you out.

Her lectures are amazing. Although she provided us with notes online for every lecture, I still loved going in to hear her lectures because she provided beautiful stories and personal experiences that really help you grasp the course content. She is strict in the sense that she does not want phones out; she wants you to pay attention to lectures.

Yes, she is horribly scary and intimidating at first, but throughout the year our entire class realized it was all a fronting. She truly is an amazing person overall. Forums were easily graded, lecture notes were given, and she eases the mood with her hilarious stories. Class ended with a round of applause. Fave professor so far! Amazing class!

An incredible educator who is truly passionate about her work and teaching. She is definitely a character ( a little sassy) but she has an incredible heart. Genuinely wants you to succeed and understand concepts once you finish the course. Human Rights in the Global South is a fabulous course that will open your eyes remarkably.

I took her class in my first year. She seemed kind of scary at first but late you'll realize that she really isn't! The things you learn in her class are really interesting! Just attend all the tutorials and do all your readings specially her lectures! Her exams are mainly based on her lecture notes. Its all easy A's if you do your work.

An amazing prof, was scary at first but that's because she's aware of how lazy students can be during the summer (I took her summer course). She is a tough grader, but gives really good feedback, and is a good example of a tough-love teacher, who is likes to talk about her experiences in relation to the course. Good prof, would take her courses!

She can come across as super tough and is a bit sassy lol, but is the most passionate professor I have had so far. She truly wants everyone to succeed. DONT BE LATE, it disrupts the class... its that simple. I enjoyed her stories and helped ground the concept(s) of what she was teaching. I have taken several of her classes and would do so again.

Nadia's a really interesting professor. Really dives into the course material through her own examples, and videos. If you take this course, try and get her as your TA. Gives tons of clear steps to succeed in every assessment. Participate in tutorial and keep up with the assignments and it's an easy grade. Taking another class of her's this year!

Professor Habib made taking a summer course bearable. She provides you with lecture outlines before each class and follows them during lecture. You will never feel lost in her class, everything you need to succeed is given to you, including a list of specific questions that will be on the exam. Will definitely take a course with her again.
