Mrs. Payne is the best math teacher ever. If you take her class you can count on two things. 1)your gonna learn if you pay attention and 2)You will not need a tutor if you do your H.W. She is the Best math teacher out there! Guaranteed!

Ms.Payne's class was great, she can really teach and I highly recommend her, the best advice I would say to pass her class is to review the notes she gives you as they are very similar to her test. She is fair in her grading. She is very nice and funny as well, class is not boring. Oh by the way, Ms.Payne is really hot!!!

Awesome professor!!! Very, very helpful. Before I took this class I wasn't interested in math and thought I wouldn't do too well... But with her great way of teaching, her time, and help I did very well. She wouldn't hesitate to help.I enjoyed her class. She made the class interesting and fun. She's a nice person, very helpful, clear and organized ect. However, her lectures are near verbatim repetitions of the text book. In my opinion, a good lecture is guided by the book but consists of the professors own words and ideas. I come to class to hear what the professor has to say about the subject, not have the book read to me.

Organized, consistent, very knowledgeable, down to the point. Take her if you care about the quality of your education and are ready to put some time and effort into the class.

She glossed over everything so fast it was all a blur. I finally had to drop her class. If you already know your math that is the teacher for you but if you are still learning... choose a different proffesor

professor very detailed, if you go to class you will pass the class do your online hw and quizzes and you should be fine as long as you take good notes passing these quizzes and tests should be a piece of cake! on the flip side tests can have way too much material!! great professor!

During my time wit Ms Payne it was kinda complicated. Compared to other math teachers I had, I didn't understand her style of teaching. Even though I did all the homework on Math XL I did bad on the tests and I didn't pass. So if you feel that you don't understand her her teaching technique drop the class

she keeps me awake. she's good at teaching the material. you will understand it if you show up to class everyday. the only thing i don't like is that she uses mathxl for homework and quizzes..and that is HORRIBLE to use as a grade source and unfortuntely she uses that.

For the first few weeks, she taught math out of a COMPUTER; hard to stay awake, wasted class time. Grades HARD on notation, for someone who makes tons of notational errors herself. She re-writes each theorem in the book on the board: word for word! Very boring, but clear.

great teacher, just do your home work, study your section because she gives quizes and review the practice tests and you'll get a good grade. also if you get to know her she is a great person to get to know and maybe she might go easy on your grade if your not doing so good. she grades on the curve and her grading scale is great.

she is a grate professor she donst play favorites your grade is what you get she goes through the material quickly so if you are there to play around you will get lost quick she test you on what she teaches and you final is just your test questinos with different numbers and shes sooo hot but thats besides the point

Ms. Payne is a good teacher. She gives you what you earned in the test and homework. she teach slow to make sure you understand, and if you have question, she will help you. she is great teacher. you just have to work hard to earn a decent grade in her class. she make you work but she is good teacher. you will learn.

This class was very easy for me. You have to show up everyday or you will be lost. She doesn't make you get the book, but you do have to print out lecture notes that she already has made out for you online. I recommend taking this class with her. It was pretty easy.

OK...she DOES have an attitude and she does get annoyed when students ask stupid questions...but she knows how to teach math. If you want to learn the material, take her. Her tests aren't too hard and she's a fair grader. But if you're looking for a sweetheart teacher, look elsewhere.

Great teacher, she actually teaches you in a way you can understand the material. She may be strict, yes, but its worth it. If you want to really learn, go for the challenge, but if you want an easy class, this isn't the right class for you. Overall she's a great teacher. Great teacher for those who are up to a challenge in her class.

Otherwise, look elsewhere and don't take her class, if you're really serious about taking her class, good. One thing, she's not an easy A teacher, only if you work hard at it.

She's a great professor. She makes u work hard to earn a passing grade. Not too easy, but she's definitely a challenge which is one of the things that I mostly enjoyed, besides the fact that in her class, u use Math XL which really helps u & u can take the practice tests to help u in your upcoming test. Some tests in her class are done in Math XL.

I loved this Pr. Payne. I thought it would be hard during Winter session, but she did a great job in covering all materials and I learned a Lot. Thanks you Pr. Payne. She teaches explanatory to everyone. Uses basic understandable language. She cares for her students. All you need to do is Practice A LOT at home, and you will be fine. I recommend!!!

This teacher is very get to the point. She teaches well but you gotta do the rest. She is picky about stuff and is very specific on what she wants. Plan to study A LOT on your own. No extra credit or points for HW. Has a monologue but you get used to it. You are going to earn your grade in her class. She has no patience. Over all good teacher.

If you take an eight week class with her, she will break you. A constant barrage of homework, quizzes and tests all happening every single week. There is no breathing room and she's very on point with everything. You will suffer, but you will learn math. She's hot though.

I took her math 115 eight week course and it was crazy. Hw and quizzes due almost everyday. Best advice, is to study, you should especially study practice tests. She is moody at times but she was cool. If you need corrections on tests she gives points when you go to her office. If you use math xl, you don't need to buy the book. Great teacher

I believe she is a very strict teacher that is on point. we do everything on math XL. she is strict with attendance and people talking during class, if you ask her anything she knows exactly what she is talking about. i learned a lot with her. i will recommend anyone to take her.

Professor Payne is a real great teacher her lectures are crystal clear. Homework, quizzes, and tests are all done online on mathxl. Her test are fair and if you think mathxl made an error she has office hours to help with those situations overall great professor hope to take her again.

I had this professor during 8 week semester, it was very fast, homework everyday but you learn everything, she is a great teacher. Interesting lectures and time flies very fast. I got an A in her class, now I am taking her Math 125 class, and I am also planning on taking Calculus with her. So good luck, she is awesome!!!

Let's be real here, there isn't a single math professor you can take for an easy grade. You will suffer in all of them, but with Payne, at least she has some sort of mercy and leniency. She will crush you all the other professors, but at least she cares more about you passing than the other lunatics. She's also very pretty for her age.

Great professor. Expects a lot, offers a lot. Lets face it Math sucks, for most people. She makes it as bearable as possible.

She goes over problems step by step. Hw, quizzes, and test are on math xl but she also checks your written work.

She is very helpful and actually wants her students to pass. All hw, quizzes, tests are on Mathxl but she also checks your written work specially on tests for errors. Take her, you will not regret it and you will actually learn but you must be willing to do the work. She is awesome!

She is an excellent teacher. All the homework's and quizzes are taken online through Math XL. She gives 5 exams. Her lectures are very understanding and detailed. If you have questions she will review them with you. For the final exam she gives you a study guide so you are aware what to expect on the final. Attendance is mandatory. Great teacher.

She is strict but that's a good thing. I hate and fear math and I managed to get a B in her class which it like a miracle. She expects a lot of her students but is willing to help those who struggle. She is a very fair, professional, professor.

Professor Payne's an excelent professor. She'll make sure that you're ready for the next math class. She really cares about her students, and she's also well prepared. She's not going to give you an easy grade, but if you work you'll learn a lot.

Amazing professor who will prepare you for future higher-level math courses. She focuses on notation and it may be frustrating, but she really pushes you to do your best in problem solving both in math and real life. Extremely prepared, thorough, no-nonsense, nerdy, and tells you exactly what you need to study. Very fair. No surprises. Worth it.

She is an awesome professor, very well organized, does not keep you waiting for your exam results. She really knows what she teaches and if you pay attention, you'll understand everything easily. Besides she works with MathXl and MathXl has several ways to help you practice and learn your stuff.

Professor Payne is an excellent instructor. She is very elaborate in her lectures for those of us who are a bit on the slow side in math. She does challenge her students but with fairness as she prepares us for those challenges. The math tests are all done manually with no Scantron or GreenBook necessity. If you struggle with math take Pr. Payne.

Took two math courses in one semester. She is an incredible helpful teacher. Math has need been my subject and Ms. Payne helped me understand.

I took her math class, elementary algebra. She is a great teacher, her teaching method is great. Don't text during class time because she doesn't like that. Not much homework, tests are not that hard. Take good notes and read the math book if you don't understand something or ask her. Not an easy A but not hard to pass.

The best Algebra teacher I've ever had even if sometimes her demeanor can be reminiscent of Major Payne or Henry Rollins. Knows her stuff and will teach you too if you have the grit and gumption to take her criticism. A word to the wise: memorize your math vocabulary definitions, they're on the test too!

Professor Payne is by far one of the best professors at LACC. Her lectures are crystal clear and hear me out, you will not leave class feeling stupid or clueless. However, her class can be tough! But you will be fine if you stay motivated and put in some work!

Based upon taking her for MATH 125, Payne's class was difficult because you need to work hard to get a good grade. Also, she grades very and I mean VERY hardshly when it comes to exams. However, her teaching was so good and fluid. You will never leave class feeling confuse or stupid (Unless you don't ask QUESTIONS). Other than that she's good!

Honestly, she really cares about her students. She doesn't make you buy the book, plus she takes the time to create the lecture notes for you. There are certain kind of rules in math, just follow those rules, pay attention, memorize, do the practice problems and you'll be more than fine. Lazy people won't succeed, just be aware of that!

I've always been terrified of math. Payne made me realized that math is something we all need to conquer. She is very unique in her style of teaching. She doesn't requires you to purchase any math materials online. She provides her own free website for you to access everything you need in order to pass her course. You need to make time to study!

I took her class twice and the first time I passed with a D because I hardly had time to study. then I took her again and I studied A lot and I passed with a B. She does everything in the power to help you pass she even provides online notes and gives your tips and advice on how to manage your time. It's all on you. She makes it more understanding.

Coach Payne is the absolute necessity of what students need. She is thorough, dedicated and willing to meet you were you're at in your studies. By far one of the greatest math teachers!!! She has taught me how to understand and appreciate math.

Coach Payne's class was very inspiring . Her teaching method may seem unconventional maybe even harsh but its whats students need. She does not hold your hand and makes you realize that you are the only person responsible for your wins and losses. Took her this last winter 4 GAMES PLUS THE FINAL.

She has a unique way of teaching that really helped me understand the subject better compared to other professors who seem to not care about your understanding. Coach Payne, the only math professor I've taken that truly cares about her student's success. Her teaching style is one of a kind. She focuses on teaching the concepts of the course and makes sure you have proper notations while answering the problem. Your tests won't just have problems with numbers, you will have to prove concepts you learn about.

She makes sure we understand the material, Gives us very detailed study guides with additional videos on the class high points. She will go over things mutiple times for a better coverage on lessons. In my opinion she is an excellent teacher, I would be willing to take another class with her.

Professor Payne tries hard to make us understand algebra. Understanding the notation and meaning of algebraic words was important to her. I now see why. Im taking stats now and it is imperative to know what all the symbols mean. Overall good teaching.

I took maths 125 with her and she is great .. if you really want to know maths take her class .. the steps she use to solve the problems are smooth..

She's pretty all right as far as teachers go. She makes an honest effort to make class engaging which is a rarity once you get in calculus and "higher" level maths. Gives a fair amount of partial credit and tests are pretty standard. Definitely not a giant stickler for proofs which is nice. Also provided a pdf of textbook.

She is adorable, inspiring, goofy, and caring math professor. Our class seemed to love her so much Lol So much fun. The class is a bit of a slower pace which I loved. If you want a bit more of step by step learner, take her.

Math 125 is hard, you must discipline yourself to spend more time studying. She cares, she wants you to be successful. Pay attention to the drills, practice after every class. Tests are hard, do the drills and practice you will be fine. She is very inspirational, and will prepare you for higher level math. I wish I could take her for calculus.

Coach Payne grades tests by the correct steps of the problem and will take off a point if something in your work or answer is not correct. I believe that is fair. Coach Payne gives her students alot of material to succeed. Like recordings of her lecture notes, notes that you print and bring as well as practice worksheets for all tests and finals.

Coach Payne is the tough teacher you need. Her lessons are helpful when moving on to the next class. She does require the answer to be written in a specific manner but its not anything unusual. She is a tough grader and expects a lot from her students but don't let it discourage you! Her class prepared me for more advanced math classes.

I want to say that I truely appreciate the dedication and time that coach Payne put into teaching calculus. A lot of students were taking calculus for the third time since they failed it twice before, but with her different way of teaching and preparing us ahead in an mentally and emational way we did it. I recommend you take Calculus with her.

Coach Payne gives clear instructions for what is expected in the course and the exams. Most things she is strict about is (skills and notions) are things you must master anyways so she is amazing for preparing you for future math courses. Just stay on top of assignments because it is easy for you grade to tank in her class.

Read all directions and prepare to work. This class is tough but fair and it's definitely unconventional. The focus is on understanding the material, which is rare for math profs. Anyone saying she doesn't care about her students is way off. If you're struggling go to her office hours. She is helpful and will work with you to figure things out.

Coach Payne's approach focuses on understanding concepts. Each test will have a part where you explain concepts, or the problem you just solved. She's very clear in her expectations, and provides you with everything you need to pass. I only got a C because I'd study two days before the exam, and completed half the homework. She is a great teacher.
