Research can be a tricky subject, but he conveys the material in relation to everyday things which makes the course much more manageable. If you put the time & effort in, you'll do fine. He's straight forward. He's always available to discuss any doubts you're having as well. I benefitted & enjoy his course, I recommend anyone to take him.

I'm taking Research Methods II online this Fall Semester(2015) and though this is my first "full" online course, It has been good thus far. I was hesitant to take Research Methods II online, but i'm glad i took it with Professor Alam. Though most of the work is independently done he was always there replying to my emails which help me.

Nafees is a one of my favorite professors! He has taught me so much about research without having to shove a book down my throat or take a million tests. This is my second class with him and I have no complains about him. The work is no joke tho so don't confuse this class as a gifted A it just makes life a lot easier having a good professor.

I just finished my research methods 1 course with Alam at Rutgers University in Newark. I was not looking forward to this course nor did I expect to understand the material. Alam was great in having the material related to situations we all experienced at one point in time. I would recommend social work students to take him for research.
