Best math teacher I have ever had! She made concepts I used to find difficult seem very easy. She's always offering help. She makes sure you understand everything so clear before moving on the next subject. I really wish there were more professors like ms. Rashid extremely blessing to have her a proffessor :)
Best math teacher I have ever had. She made concepts I used to find difficult seem very easy. She's always offering help.
she was very nice and cares about the students she wants you to get it and make sure you perform well best math teacher i had online hw and quizes midterms in person uses mymathlab alot which sucks bc u cant get partial credit but she cares and will insure u pass the class!
I am not the best at math but I am also not the worst. She's very sweet and her teaching is clear. She leaves a lot of online hw/quizzes which costs around $80. The hw/quiz problems are extremely hard(nothing she has ever gone over in class) Her tests are also very difficult.. I DONT recommend her, she's nice but extremely hard! I tried so hard :/
Professor Rashid is the definition of an ideal math teacher. I have her for math 114 and am for the first time debating taking a class before 12 just to have her again. AMAZING teacher. She has such a clear teaching method and has such incredible patience for her students. Hands down best math teacher I've ever had.
Rashid is the best math teacher I have ever had hands down. I have never understood math as well as I do now thanks to her. She does not try to use her own words to explain the section. She gives examples (the same ones she uses on her tests) and answers any questions clearly.
Best math teacher ive ever had. i taken multiple math class with different teachers and she is by far the best teacher. her test are hard but as long as you do the homework and the study guide then you will pass the class. i will be taking her class till im done with my math classes.
She's hella hot! She's probably still too young to teach. If you get distracted easily, do not take her class. Other than her looks, she's an amazing teacher. She takes the time to explain things and she's very forward in her teaching. She goes by the book so no surprises. She's like an angel. Smart and beautiful. Best Teacher @ De Anza College.
She is good. she will take only 3 big exams. she give review sheet for those exam are really helpful. I like her, she is always clam and cool. she is nice
She really made an effort to help students.
She's hot, smart, and a great teacher! She really wants her students to understand the material. Best math teacher I have had so far!
Took her for Math 114, currently for Stats as well. She is a BABE. She is also a phenomenal teacher, hilarious, and helps students understand. She has a cute sense of humor. Half of my 114 class is in Stats Currently with me because we all loved her. Ended with an A+ in 114, gonna end Stats with an A as well. I couldn't praise her more, very good.
She's an amazing teacher! I took Statistics with a different professor and failed miserably. I took Stat. with Ms. Rashid & passed with an A!! She explains everything so clearly & always available to help. She makes statistics so easy to understand and interesting! I loved her class! I hope I can take more math classes with her in the future!
She's Awesome! Very helpful and clear in explaining Stats. Really wants you to do well. Highly Recommended!
She's awesome!!! She makes math so easy to understand! No one can explain math the way she does, Amazing! I LOVE statistics because of her! I wish there were more professor like her at De Anza college!
Best teacher I ever had! Definitely take her if you want to actually learn math. She's nice and helpful!
Excellent teacher. Goes above and beyond to make sure you understand material clearly. Always available if you need extra help via math lab, office hrs, email, phone.
I have a very hard time understanding math, but the way Ms. Rashid explains it, it makes so much sense. She shows us different ways of solving and let's us use the method that's easiest for us. She tries to give us immediate feedback as much as possible so we know what needs improvement. Best teacher!!! She's super nice! Definitely take her class!
She's amazing! She really cares about her students success and wants everyone to to do well. Super helpful & patient!!!
Nahrin Rashid is by far the BEST teacher I have ever had. She makes the material so easy to understand. Instead of using a bunch of formulas, she teaches us how to do everything on the calculator. allowed to use 1 3x5 card for all tests & one page of notes on final. she really wants everyone to pass her class. very difficult not to pass. LOVE HER!!
BEST TEACHER EVER!! attendance not required-only used it to boost grade. You can use a 3x5 note card on all tests and one page on the final. She wants every student to pass her class. I liked math before, but after taking her class I love it. I wish she could teach every class at De Anza!! She's amazing. hw is online, very east. got 98 on final!
Professor Rashid is very helpful, and very understanding. She makes Statistics so easy to understand! She's an amazing teacher! It was a pleasure to take the course.
Great teaching skills! Professor Rashid explains everything so clearly and she'll repeat herself as many times as you need. She's helpful and truly cares about her students. I will take her again in a Heart Beat!!!
She is the best teacher ever! Took her for all my math class and enjoyed every single class period. Really want you to succeed and is willing to help 100%. Definitely have to study to earn an A and she is extremely passionate with what she teaches!
She's my favorite professor by far! Homework/quizzes are done online. She breaks everything down to you if needed, she is clear and accurate. She really knows her stuff. I achieved my highest math grade ever in her class & I haven't been in school in over 5 years. I recommend her to everyone!
Not the best! No extra credit. Her course was easy at the begging but it got harder as the semester went on. She does not really care if you understand the material..
Ms. Rashid did not respond to my emails, and it was difficult in general to communicate with her because she wasn't very responsive. She often spoke to us like middle schoolers but the homework would be much more challenging than anything she went over in class. Overall not a great teacher and wouldn't recommend to good students.
Professor Rashid is one of the best professors at De Anza. Her style of teaching is awesome. Although I failed the class, I did try my best. I had personal issues to take care of, so that got in the way of my education. She is really nice and wants to see all her students succeed. Very HELPFUL if you are struggling. Wish she was teaching spring qtr
Professor Rashid is by far the best math professor I had. She is a math genius and so passionate. Her lectures are so crystal clear that you won't need a book. You actually learn and understand math instead of memorizing bunch of formulas. I learned so much from her in one quarter than I did in my 4 years of high school. Highly recommend her!!!
Professor Rashid is great. I failed math 114 twice with another instructor before taking it with Rashid. She's such a great instructor. As of right now I have an A in her class and math finally makes sense to me. She explains everything step by step and relates all the topics. She changed my life! Taker her if you want to learn math.
She's amazing! She truly cares about her students' success and is patient. She responds to emails and is always available to help. She makes math look so easy! Her lectures are so clear and on point and super organized. Do your homework and attend class regularly. If you're lazy then don't take her. I would take her again for sure!!!
Good teacher also pretty hot.
Great professor! I had been out of school for over ten years and I passed with an A. Her lectures are perfect and so easy to understand. I took all my math classes with her, she's the best math teacher I ever had! Thank you Ms. Rashid, you're truly inspiring.
Mrs. Rashid is an amazing teacher. She makes math look easy. I like her method of teaching. She is very supportive as well as patient. I would highly recommend this teacher.
I absolutely adored Prof. Rashid! She really cares for who students, and might come across as hard to talk to, but once you do, you really get a clear picture of who she is as a person! Goes over everything as if you were a baby learning to walk, might be repetitive, but you walk away with course work learned. Do HW Test are way easier than HW!!!
She is one of the nicest teacher on campus.I learned a lot I'm going to take her again :)
Greatest math teacher in the universe (well for me). Goes over everything step by step. Gives the easiest methods possible. Gives extra credit. Online math homework and quizzes are so easy. Her tests are basically her study guide. And all around just a cute teacher to listen to. Definitely recommend taking her for ANY class.
She's amazing! I highly recommend her. She explains everything so clear and makes sure everybody understands the topic before moving on. Available for extra help. I'll take her again.
She's great! She explains everything crystal clear! Always available for help and responds to emails.
Ms. Rashid is a great instructor. Her lectures are so clear and easy to follow. After having so many bad Math instructors, I finally understand per-calculus on a whole different level! She truly cares about her students and is available to help. She responds to emails quickly. I highly recommend her!
She's super easy, I'm taking her Math41 right now and I'm gonna take her class again for Math42 in winter quarter. The test is covered by what we learn in class and 1 xtra credit question. The xtra credit might cover in class already. During the test, she might help us when we get stuck. How cool it is!! Just take her class if you want a helpful and easy teacher. Love her!!
She's a great professor. If you want to pass her class, you have to attend lectures and do homework! If you're lazy then don't take her class. She's always available for help.
She's a great instructor, and she's always available for help.
I'm in her MPS program and she's amazing. Even though the class is two hours, it doesn't feel like it and she goes through the problems thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands and she goes at a pace that isn't too slow or too fast. Amazing class! 100% would recommend :)
Awesome teacher, love the way she teaches students.
She trusty cares about her students success and makes sure that you understand the material. She's a available for help during office hours. Her lectures are on point and easy to follow.
THE BEST PROFESSOR in De Anza. She is very very supportive, friendly, and caring. If you go over the lecture notes, you will def get A on exams. I am not STEM major, but taking her class continuously because she is too amazing.
Best teacher at De Anza. I love her teaching style she helps you understand the subject and is always there to help and guide you. I would recommend taking her
Skip class you wont pass. Her lectures are great. Her exams are not easy but if you do homework and go to class you can pass with an A. Shes always so helpful during office hours. Shes one of the hardest working and caring professors I ever had.
She's a great as a person not as prof. Class seems easy at first but its not really! There are 3 exams & if you kind of mess up on the first one you are already on the edge of failing the class & if you mess up the second one fail forsure! so no matter if you get all A's on quizzes and hw if you mess u on the exams you failed the class. Don't take!
Her lectures werent that heavy but her tests are ridiculously complicated and will mess your whole grade up if you dont do good on them. Wouldnt recommend for anyone whos not good at math. Take someone easy!!!
Professor Rashid is so incredibly BORING. Her lectures will put you right to sleep. An online textbook is required to complete the homework assignments and quizzes and will set you back around $110. Your grade will be based off your 3 midterms, so even if you do all the homework, a low test score will have you on the verge of failing. Avoid!
She is a nice person, but she is not a good professor. I am an A student and struggle in her class. Her lectures are boring and quick, I feel like she tries to cram so much knowledge at once. Her midterm will destroy your life. Don't take her, please save your soul and go to another Professor if you want to save your grade.
I loved her class. Her lectures were enjoyable making math palatable. Because you could easily pass her class by "faking it." It made life easier. But Buyer Beware, though. Good grades are meaningless especially if you plan on taking higher, much harder levels of maths. Her colleagues aren't quite as generous.
Im currently in her Math1A class. Shes amazing her lectures are clear and easy to follow. Her exams are mostly homework questions. Shes a great professor.
I'm only rating her because I strongly feel that she deserves a 5. Shes fun and enthusiastic! One of the b st professor at De Anza. Her lectures are well thought out and she explains everything and makes math seem so easy and simple. Trust me, you want to take her class. Shes really organized, friendly, and authentic.
This is my second time taking calculus and I wish I took it with Prof Rashid the first time. She is incredible at explaining the material and I'm so thankful to be in this class. A lot of students tried to get in on the first day but there is no room. No one even drops the class. She's good. Highly recommended if you can get a seat!
Im taking Math 114 with professor Rashid this quarter and shes the best math professor I had so far. Her lectures are amazing and she tests heavy. If you want to actually learn math then take her. If you go to class and do the work, youll pass with a good grade. If youre not willing to work then take someone else.
I took Math 41 last quarter with professor Rashid. I learned so much math from her than I ever did with any other math professor. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow. Shes also so helpful during office hours. I still go to her office hours when I have math questions even though Im not in her class this quarter.
I took Math 114 with another professor and I failed miserably. Im in professor Rashids class right now and Im finally understanding and learning math. I really like her teaching style.
Shes a great professor and very kind. I highly recommend her if you want to learn Calculus. Her exams are tough but theyre based on her lectures and homework. Shes also helpful during office hours.
Shes a great math teacher. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow. Shes very passionate and enthusiastic about math.
Nice professor, give lots of homework is very specific. But you must stay on top of things to receive the grade that you like.
She is a nice person but I failed miserably in this class. The homework online takes hours. The lectures are boring and I never learn anything. The test are difficult.
Overall a pretty good course but the instructor is very hard and makes the lectures boring.
This was a fun class! Prof Rashid is a good lectuerer but her tests are very confusing. I have been to her office hours several times and the way she explains the concepts are a bit strange! Overall, dont take this class with her if are not willing to put in the work!
Miss Rashid is a good professor I enjoyed her class. Skip class and you wont pass. He lectures are amazing and her exams are from homework and lecture.
I took her for MATH42, not math 10. She actually cares if her students understand the material. She looks at the students faces and if they look confused, she finds other ways of explaining. Never had to read the book because her lectures were very clear and good!
Im taking Ms. Rashid this quarter for Math 41. Im understanding the material and Im so happy with how the class is going. Shes so clear and makes sure everybody understands before moving on. Shes also very helpful during office hours.
I LOVE HER. Best math professor I've ever taken -- I used to suck at math but now I'm much better. She explains things so simply and takes time to answer all of your questions. Really nice.
She lets you use notes on tests/quizzes and sometimes even work with a partner. Super nice and explains things without being too complicated. You easily can get an A if you try.
Shes nice and all but for simple algebra class she assigns hours upon hours of homework a night and basically if you fail the first test might as Well drop the class because you wont be able to recover from it
I wish she was teaching Math 42 next quarter. She is a great instructor and Im learning so much in her class. Honestly she has helped me really Understand Precalc and actually enjoy math.
she's a good professor but her tests are very heavily graded. missing even a point can really ruin your grade. homework and quizzes aren't worth a lot and the tests can really screw you up. the tests aren't hard but as I said, missing even a point can really affect your grade because all the tests are out of 100 with 9-12 questions.
Professor Rashid is nice and patient, she is always willing to help. But she is a really tough grader. She takes points off for even a tiny mistake. Also, a lot of online homework.
hw dummy easy, quizzes easy, tests easy, final aight.
Professor Rashid is great. If you attend class and do your homework youll do great. Shell make you work for it but I actually learned so much from her. Shes also helpful in office hours and email.
I took math 114 and 10 with professor Rashid. Im planning to take math 42 with her in Fall. Shes a great teacher and really cares about her students. She assigns homework/quizzes online and 3 in class midterms. As long as you do your homework you will do good on the midterms.
good professor but a hard grader. 3 exam, and a couple quizzes. Honestly if you do all the homework and pass all the quiz but fail the exam, your grade drops tremendously. Most of the grading comes from the exam. Quizzes are sometimes online or in class. She lets you work as a partner for class assignment which you turn in after class.
Rashid is a great teacher, probably the only math teacher I was able to actually learn from, it's because she cares about her students. If you need help she is always there to help. You do have to put in the work for a passing grade but if you do the HW and ask questions then it should be no problem! I've taken her for Math 114, and 41. She's great
Shes great. I took her last quarter for Math 10 MPS. It was a fun class and we worked in groups in class. She explains everything so clearly. Try not to skip class and ask questions.
Even though shes nice, but her lectures are super boring so that even a 50 minute class feels endless. A very tough grader!! Tons of hw and a few quizzes which dont really affect your final grade, its mostly 3 midterms and the final. Wont take another class with her.
I got an A last quarter in professor Rashids class. I worked hard and it paid off. Shes a great professor if you really put the time in and study you can get a good grade. If youre lazy and skip class then take someone else.
Definitely taking her class again. She is an Amazing teacher!!!!!
Great, but she's a tough grader. If you want to get an A and learn nothing to move into the higher class, picking her. But, you want to learn something to prepare for advanced maths, never ever take her because you'll regret due to not preparing well in the first beginning.
Great professor!! She gives extra credit problem on every midterm. Her lecture are clear and shes accessible outside of class.
Ms Rashid is an excellent crisp and clear teacher. Her material is boring but being organized and concise, she transforms it into a learning opportunity. I have studied under great professors from Stanford but this teacher is a real gem if you want to learn trigonometry.
Nahrin Rashid is absolutely amazing! She has clear, concise lectures and explains topics in depth. She does structured notes while she lectures and it's such a big help when it comes time to study for tests. She is a bit homework heavy, but the homework is online and it really really helps. Her office hours are a great time to get extra help.
She is probably my favorite math teacher at De Anza. Her lectures are clear and she goes at a pace that is easy to follow. She is also accessible outside of class (during office hours). I've taken her for Math 41 and am currently taking her Math 42 class. She cares for her students and is passionate about math. I'd 100% would take her class again
I attended Prof. Rashids MPS Stats course, I suggest anyone that has had trouble with this course take her MPS class. Its 2 hours a day, 5 days/wk but in the end its worth it. I have never been good at Math but I passed with an A! Do your homework, study and take GOOD notes and you will pass! She also answered all my questions whenever I needed it.
This was my third attempt at taking Stats and I passed with an A! Her lectures are clear and she is so well organized. She responds to homework questions and is very specific, which makes everything stress free. I totally recommend her! She's amazing!
Nahrin is the best math teacher De Anza has to offer! I've taken 3 different math courses with her now and have passed each one! She's very patient, understanding, and very caring. She wants her students to understand the material and will help you during office hours as needed. You definitely have to attend class if you want to pass! Take her!!!!
Possibly one of the best professors I have ever had at De Anza. She has the BEST lectures ever, making sure ever student understands the problems she goes over. One of the best parts of her class is that almost everything within her lecture/quizzes, are on the test! If you also do all the homework you will get an easy A in her class!
Professor Rashid is a true gem. Try to get her for every Calc class you have!
Professor Rashid is great! Her lectures are very clear, and she does multiple examples in class to make sure we understand everything. She'll always help you whenever you need it, whether it's during office hours or via email. She makes what's usually a difficult subject enjoyable to learn.
Calculus is not an easy subject but she made it easy to understand. She is willing to help students with there grades and is a nice person in general! I would recommend to take her. It seems like it is hard to get in her class if you don't hurry tho always full registration and waitlist
One of the good ones. She is super clear about what is going to be on the test and doesn't try to trick you. Love how she does notes, she's always very thorough. Definitely one of the best choices for calc
Definitely one of the better math professors at De Anza. Her lectures are very clear and practically mirror the homework so there are never any surprises. She's very straightforward with what will be on the exams and sometimes just takes homework problems and changes the numbers. As long as you put in the work, you'll do fine.
Ms. Rashid is hands down the best math professor I have ever had. I have always struggled with math, in fact I had failed Math 10 once with a different professor before I tool Ms. Rashids class. Her lectures are very clear and easy ton understand, and her method of notes for this class is not only helpful, but efficient. Take her class.
I absolutely hate math. After this class I still do hate math, however professor Rashid made it more tolerable. Her lectures are very clear and she gives plenty of examples. She teaches whats on her exams essentially so its very straight forward. She's really just great at her job.
You know how math teachers have notes for showing work that are impossible to read. Rashid has notes that are actually easy to follow. I would strongly recommend to go to class daily (if you stay in class and listen and follow along, homework should take like 10 mins a day if you want an A) Also her TEST QUESTIONS ARE BASED ON THE HOMEWORK!!!!!!
Professor Rashid is very helpful and patient during her lectures. She takes her time to make sure each student clearly understands the concepts. Exams are based on the homework and she goes through examples during class as well.
Super clear notes every lecture. Does a lot of examples in-class. Homework and quizzes were online for the quarter. 20 chances for HW. Allows some notes for tests. Gives partial credit for your process. Attendance taken everyday near end of class. 4 tests. Drops lowest quiz and test. Final was online because of COVID-19. Responds to emails fast.
I love her. I used to hate math but after I took her, now I am tutoring Stat. She is really open for discussion. If there is mistake, she accept it and say thank you for pointing it out. She is organize and clear about the class. She will write down every lecture in a piece of paper so you can ask her if your miss class. Her hand-writing is nice.
She's an incredible professor that truly wants you to succeed, she extends homework deadlines if needed and her lectures are very clear and informational. Homework was not overwhelming at all and she gives a chance for students to raise their grade by reopening the homework and drops the lowest exam, quiz, and hw. AMAZING PROFESSOR TRULY KIND!!!!!
Definitely such a great math teacher! With the recent pandemic, our supposed to be on campus class became an online math class. That being said, Professor Rashids probably first-ever online class was very clear and easy to manage! On top of that shes such a great teacher in explaining math, she makes it sound so simple. Great Professor!!!!
She has great lectures: Goes over concepts first and then talks about example problems. HW, most quizzes, and most tests are on webassign so the questions are similar. Opens the HW towards the end of the quarter so you can boost your grades a bit. All open book and notes. Responds quickly to emails. You won't go wrong with her.
Excellent instructor.
She teaches the steps in math but doesn't really care to teach math.
Professor Rashid is really caring and nice. She explains to you in detail when you don't get anything. However, her lectures can sometimes be really boring and hard to understand. She uses WebAssign so you might have to spend extra money.
She cant teach math because shes always skipping steps and confusing herself. If you need extra help she tells you to watch YouTube videos. An exam and quiz every week and gives lots of homework. She doesnt explain well either so if you dont get math easily dont take her
This professor is very straight forward with her lectures and assignments, also she is more than happy to help out struggling students, no idea what the review below is talking about. Overall to pass her class it's simple just watch her lectures, do your homework, and study (especially your homework). Also, she drops your lowest quiz and test.
Would definitely recommend you take her! So far she is the best math teacher I've had at De Anza! Just make sure you understand your homework before exams and you should do just fine.
Prof Rashid is a good, fair and relatively easy math prof. Take her, I've taken other profs and it can get a lot worse!! believe me. She breaks up the grading fairly evenly between discussion posts 5%, homework 15%, quizzes 15%, exams 40%, and a final exam 25%. She drops your lowest score of each except the final. No micromanaging. No watching you.
Nahrin is really nice! I took her for Calc 1A and didn't have any class meetings. She responds to emails really fast and the class was pretty much just doing work on WebAssign. She gives you unlimited times to try each problem on the homework, and a couple to a few tries for quizzes and tests. Overall a good class :)
I love professor Nahrin Rashid. Her teaching is so clear. She loves her job. She is full of patient and full of help. She is the best professor I ever met.
I would take her again for all of my math classes if I could! Quizzes and exams are all open notes. You have 2 tries per FRQ and 1 try per MC, and you get graded immediately after you submit the individual question. Assignments are all on WebAssign or Canvas. Big Tip: review the homework before you take any test (problems are very similar).
Great lectures, great notes and she's very involved in the homework. Tests are challenging but she sets you up for success. My only complaint is she doesn't teach higher level calculus because she's awesome.
This teacher is a true jem at de anza!!! Consider yourself lucky if you even get a spot in any of her classes. Hands down the best math teacher I have ever had, and Ive had a lot. She needs a pay raise asap!!
She is a nice professor, however, there is a lot of homework, quizzes, and exams to do but that also comes with taking a hard STEM class. Sometimes the questions on the exam is not what we practiced in the homework which can be confusing and frustrating. This class is hard but she is nice and accessible. Put in the work everyday & you'll get an A.
Easy class, but do not expect to learn much if at all.
Really easy as long as you're good at self studying. She drops the lowest quiz, exam, and homework. Calculus is hard, but as long as you put in the work you'll get a good grade with this prof
Prof. Rashid's lectures focused on solving problems similar to hw, but she does not really explain the idea behind the problem very well so sometimes it is hard to know what you are actually doing, as her only explanations are reading aloud from textbook. But she is nice and helpful in office hours and drops lowest scores for test, quiz, and hw.
My class was an asynchronous class but you can ask questions in office hour and she's caring and willing to help you. Clear grading material. Homework is done on WebAssign and I had to pay for it. Professor wants students to learn well by doing a lot of questions and sometimes she doesn't explain the concept behind it.
Professor Rashid is absolutely amazing! She is passionate and shares her love for math. She really wants you to understand the material. Her teaching style makes math stress-free. She takes the time to connect with students. She's lenient and caring. Shes approachable and helpful during office hours. Take her if you want to learn calculus.
Best math professor at De Anza. She truly cares about her students. I HIGHLY suggest taking her through MPS program @ De Anza if you need help with math. Took her for both Calc 1A and 1B. She drops the lowest homework, quiz, & exam. Uses WebAssign platform. Gives a reasonable amount of time for exams/ quizzes. Offers extensions on hw when needed.
I really like her online lecture videos. She posts prerecorded lecture videos with notes. The structure of her online class is great. She is super helpful during office hours and replies quickly to emails.
I took asynchronous classes, she provides video lectures which are really useful for introducing concepts. The only problem I had with the class was the amount of homework. Expect to spend +2 hours on homework. Uses WebAssign which has homework assistance videos that help most of the time. I can't stress HOW MANY PROBLEMS THERE ARE IN THE HOMEWORK!
Took this class asynchronously and nearly everything was automated. The recorded lectures are very clear cut and we had mandatory discussion posts. If you can manage your time this class will be great for you, otherwise you may fall behind a bit (the deadlines are pretty lenient however).
lectures don't explain too much, just go right into the homework sets to save time. prof uses webassign, hw unlimited tries, 2 tries for exams/quizzes. lowest quiz dropped, can get up to 5 hw extensions. bi-weekly discussion posts. i wouldn't recommend taking 1B with her if you want to go to 1C well prepared, but it depends on your self discipline!
She only accept the first student on the waitlist, so make sure you are the first person on her waitlist, or you might ended dropping and find another professor.
3 exams, 1 final. Lowest exam score dropped. Uses web assign. The course has lots of information and material, and can get confusing at times. Make sure you are spending about 2-3 hours every other day. Since this class was asynchronous, I would spend 3 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays doing the coursework. The exams are also super long.
Professor Rashid's online lectures are great. She shows every step and does not assume that we know how to do it. She explains student's questions in class. Her class was one of the best online math classes I have taken. She is available for appointments outside of her office hours and offers additional office hours almost every week.
If you need to take math classes, take her. She is a genuinely sweet woman who wants her students to do well. Even though I had a hard time with the material in this class, I liked that she gave multiple resources to help the students learn the material with pre-recorded lectures and some notes. There seemed to be a curve to help people pass.
Very straightforward class. Do your homework and take tests. You may need to self-study to understand the concepts because lectures felt kind of vague. But really nice teacher, would take the class again.
Prof. Nahrin explains concepts and proofs when asked and encourages questions, she's happy to answer. When she recommends exercises or ways to get more practice in. Take that advice, it will do you wonders on the exams and quizzes. I struggle with math in general and her advice helped wonders.
The professor is pretty straightforward, and the exams and quizzes are open note. You may have to do a lot of self studying and there can be a lot of homework questions, but they shouldn't be too difficult and you can request extensions, just watch out for discussions on canvas, if you miss one or two your grade can go down.
Great professor. Took her for my first calc class and everything was easy. She does assign a decent amount of homework but gives you 2 weeks to do it. The lowest quiz score and exam score get dropped. Overall, would take it again.
She's a great professor, cares a lot about her students, and wants them to succeed. The class itself is pretty difficult, but if you truly pay attention and put effort into it, its not too bad. Exams are tough, no points for any work shown as it's on Webassign, so the final answer is all that counts. A good amount of hw assigned every 2 to 3 weeks.
She drops the lowest test score, so only 3 counts for a grade. This professor says that the test questions are very similar to the hw problems but they are so much more complicated on the test.
I got to tell you guys. She was perfect if you are a hardworking student. She drops one quiz and exam with lowest score. Her grading is fair enough. You can get easy A if you are not a monkey who does not want to try and give your time in math. Just do your homework regularly and the group discussions and you are good to go. Good luck Guys.
Great professor, take her if you can.
Amazing lectures but she gives too much homework and its hard to keep up. U need to buy a $65 subscription: Cengage. Overall good professor but I wish she gives extra credit. Lowest scores dropped and lectures are heavy but amazing. Highly recommended
This class was probably one of the best calc classes I've ever taken. If you can take her Asynch online then you will probably have it really easy. Obviously, you still need to learn, but she makes it very easy to learn and apply everything.
Online Math 32 during summer, Lots of Homework, Discussions are required, but help a lot. Provides notes and recorded lectures to help students. If you have notes (your own notes), quiz and exams are easy. Cengage has helpful videos and you can view practice problems. Mainly a self taught course, Rashid is always available. Keep up with due dates.
First ever math class I understood in a very long time. She explains things very well. The homework also helps a lot so if you understand the homework you'll do well on the exam because it's same questions just different numbers. Final was also easy as it's just everything covered (CH 1-13). Take this class if you struggle with math.
Prof Rashid is an amazing professor. Her exams are open notes and the quizzes and exams are from web-assign. Most of the exams' questions are from web-assign homework and notes. The only thing is there are many sections assigned for homework each week and you have to give a lot of time for them. You have to take the quiz every two week.
Lectures are heavy but well-explained, and exams are open-note. There's a lot of homework, but the questions often show up on exams, so it's helpful. You'll need to purchase WebAssign ($35). The class is fast-paced, covering 1-2 chapters per week, with 13 total chapters. Try not to miss class, but if you do, the professor will help you catch up.
The professor is great, with quick reply to mails and in webassign. Multiple attempts for hw in webassign. Definately recommend Professor Nahrin.
Class easy if you put effort. She lacks of empathy, and she is not nice. Don't reach out to her if you need help, she won't help you. One parenthesis or capital letter will make you fail a test question. I don't like here because she is not empathetic at all, and she is a though grader.
Very organized canvas, super easy to stay on time with assignments and very lenient w due dates. Take her if possible!
She's so caring! If anyone had a question she would happily explain the answer. If the person still seemed slightly confused, she would explain differently without hesitation. All tests, quizzes, and HWs are online with 2 answer attempts (for tests + quizzes) and ∞ (for HW). Calc 2 is naturally really hard, but she made it very doable. Take her!!!
I enjoyed this professor. Best teacher ever !! 10/10 will take again :))
