The WORST teacher at fullerton!!! he shouldnt even be a teacher, he thinks he know what he is talking about but he has no idea. he says invalid things that if you google it, then you will see what a big liar he is. it is sad that some students side with him
His class is just note taking he says a something and then you copy it down word for word.He is the most biased teacher i have ever encountered. He teaches conspiracy theories as fact siting sources that cant be trusted.I thought i'd seen everything until this guy. Class is very easy if you read the book and can put up with his ranting and raving.
Naji is real. He will tell how the government really is. A lot of notes but he makes jokes throughout the class so it is fun. Read the book, and study the notes and you can get an A. Take this class if you really want to learn about your leaders.
Dr. Dahi is the right teacher for this class. His way of teaching is unique, dictates notes and encourages open discussions which make his class enjoyable and not mind-numbing. As far as his tests go they are fairly reasonable, if you read the text book, study the review questions, and attend all classes it is very easy to get an A. If you want to
Naji Dahi is a crazy man but he is a good teacher. If you have any say in politics dont take the class but if you just need the class and want to learn it and pass take him. He is hard but he gives out study guides if you study them you will pass.
Naji was the hardest teacher I had all semester. I can honestly say I learned more in his class than in all my other classes but I still got a D!!! Debates are fun, and you get into the lectures, but tests are long and boring.
Naji was the best teacher I have ever had. The class wasn't easy but it wasn't hard either as long as you took notes and showed up. He gives great notes! Very smart, very funny!
Passionate teacher, never boring!
One of the best teachers I ever had. This class was mandatory, when I finished I changed my major and became more involved within society. He changed my entire outlook on life.I aspire to be like Naji,I even started saying crap.Sadly though, I now compare all my professors to Naji,I have yet to like a professor since. If you ever read this,Thank you.
Awesome course! The most notes you will ever take in your life. No homework (except studying), four tests. As long as you study you will be fine. Naji keeps it interesting and knows what he's talking about. Take this class!
This was the best teacher I had at Fullerton College! He expects you to study, come to class prepared, and make sure you are on time! He likes to offend students, but it's all part of expanding your mindset. You will walk away from this class with more than what a textbook could ever teach you. LOTS OF NOTES!
Very funny, excellent in-class debates. He likes making fun of fools, but will challenge and educate you if you have good ideas. I liked him so much I took all his classes.

Naji, is by far one of the most interesting and controversial teachers you will ever take. He is extremely well read and is well skilled oratory. He is a hard, but gives the best notes on campus. Take him, if your looking for a challenge.
great prof! must take! I took him for summer. if he could get me to pass poli sci then he can get anyone to. just attend class take notes and study the notes n study guide.
Naji will get under the skin of many people (especially conservatives), but he challenges traditional views and offers a different perspective on subject matter that most of us think of as conventional wisdom. His class is challenging, but not impossible. Pay attention and you might learn something new. One of the best proffesors I've ever had.
Naji is the man! You are required to attend class and take notes as he lectures. Your hand will hurt. Exams are multiple choice and he gives you a study guide to prepare. We usually begin the class with an open discussion of current American political issues.
Naji is great. You'll need to show up to the lectures and take notes, but his website (http://www.geocities.com/ndahi ) is full of helpful information, study guides, etc. He doesn't mind if you don't have the latest edition of the textbook. There are 4 tests and one paper, and that's it. So study, do your work, and you will get an A.
Very hard class, hard tests and long, weird teacher. If you are looking for an A, find a decent one other than this one.

This man is crazy and kinda scary. He sometimes goes off on tangents which are hilarious. I dont recommend him if you are highly religious, conservative, or patriotic; you will be offended. You take notes entire class period which for me was a good way to learn the material, because he is the self proclaimed “Best gosh darn note giver there is.” Hi
He is entitled to his opinions but they detract from the lecture;forces him to cram material in a rush.Class is more like current events than Intro to PoliSci;obnoxious,know-it-all students have a place to whine.Tests long, but problem is questions are kinda biased. Does NOT answer email.Syllabus and assignments constantly changed.
write it down... that is what you will hear the most of in his class. Notes are no joke and he knows it. you can't win a fight with him. is will test you and your views every class, and there is a good chance God will strike him dead one day while he walks across campus.
Excellent teacher. I don't know why people say patriotic people might not like him--he's the epitome of a patriot: he's a concerned and knowledgeable citizen. Don't miss his classes. I had him years ago and graduated CSUF but I want to go back to JR college just to sit in his class.
Naji is unique! He is a controversial professor, but he tells you the truth about politics. He's funny and very entertaining. Never a dull moment with him. Class is fairly easy, just show up and read the book and you'll be fine.
very interesting class. naji has his own opinions and lets them be known haha. lots of notes every class, but basically has everything you need for tests in them. this class could be very boring given the content, but he does make it interesting to come to class. pretty funny guy, you can pass if you half try.
Naji is an awesome teacher. Some of the stuff he says is out there but he backs it up with evidence so it is what it is. He makes class very interesting. Took another Poli Sci Professor 2 years ago and it was the worst thing that has happend in my whole life. TAKE NAJI. study class notes up and down, and do studyguides and u got a B for sure.
Claims that he's all about teaching critical thinking, but steals talking points from Comedy Central, then lies about doing so; dictates notes word for word which students are then expected to swallow wholesale for the MC test; when his views are challenged, retreats to loaded questions and "surveys" the students he knows will agree with him.
I'm at Berkeley right now majoring in Political Science because of this guy. I changed my major because looking back at my time at FJC, American Gov was the only class that really opened my eyes. I learned a tremendous amount of information. So since I know Naji derives pleasure from reading these comments (good and bad), thank you so much.
AMAZING. Thats basically what i can say about this guy. He is very out there and cuts the crap and doesnt sugar coat it. Expect your hand to cramp cuz he makes you take LOTS of notes and he dictates everything. His tests are hard 100 MC but overall theres never a dull moment in his class and i promise you, you will learn so much form this class!
good class. learned a lot. naji is a cool guy. people say he's over the edge when teaching, but it's only because they never challenged themselves so he does it for them. one of the best and entertaining teacher that i ever had.
My favorite teacher ever. He makes people use critical thinking and defend their psoitions!
He is not a easy teach, because he makes you think and apply knowledge. You really need to learn the stuff to get a passing grade. I have yet to find a teacher who can teach as well as he could.
naji is the best! his class is really interesting and he gets you thinking. there are 4 tests including the final, he gives out study guides(do them! it really helps!) & 1 paper. attendance isn' t mandatory but he takes attendance unannounced for points. He gives out A LOT of notes, taking notes is mandatory. & he will make fun of you DEAL WITH IT.
Amazing professor!!! His class is extremely entertaining...very funny guy! ...Be prepared to be open minded, he doesn't mince words or present fluffy illusions of politics, The Naj will blow your mind! I'm going to miss this class!
"write it down" will be the worst words you will ever hear. It is mandatory that you 'write down' everything he says when he lectures. & the worst part is ALL his tests are scan-tron & all his tests are vague. Dont take him if youre looking for an easy grade. He is funny & VERY opinionated but makes you feel a little uncomfortable too.
Naji is one of the most entertaining teacher ever. His tests are hard, but his teaching really makes you think about all the politicians. I didn't like politics at all but after taking his class, I developed an interest in the subject. He is known as the "write it down" professor, you have to constantly take notes in his class, which help in exams.
Hes hard but you learn a lot, if you are of average intelligence, in order to pass you must study a lot, not an easy A, if you want an easy A take Ricardo Salas
Naji is opinionated. He's also extraordinarily smart. You can learn a lot from him if you set aside your own idealism and his, and listen to him. Don't skip class, you'll miss a lot. Tests are difficult, but doable. Review your notes and READ THE TEXT BOOK even though it's never discussed in class. I'm am better off for having taken this class.
Naji's the nuttiest & coolest teacher at FC!Each class is an adventure! He loves 2 express his views. He's way fun.He seems intimidating at 1st, but he is tender-hearted.He's real smart PHD from USC. He won't sugarcoat things. If you want an A, you're going 2 have 2 work for it.Take notes & READ!I'm going to miss him!His class during election rocked!
HE IS AWESOME!!! So interesting and fun to listen to. He will offend you at least twice in class but in the best way possible. Don't take him if you can't handle the strong opinions of others.
Great teacher just make sure to show up each day he does take attendance this is very important and do not show up late or leave early. His test are long but easy if you pay attention and study. Take Naji you will not regret it!

he is a nice teacher but can get people very pissed of about religion, do not take it to heart though, anyways i liked him, he was very easy. Take him, you wont regret it..
Naji is the best teacher i have yet to have TAKE HIM.. you must go to class all though he rarely takes attendance and you must write down everything he says. he sounds worse than he really is i swear. i wanted to run out after the test but i stuck it out and got a B. The book is helpful but your lectures are the premises for information.
Dr. Naji is probably the best professor i have had. he is very outspoken, he really knows politics and the stuff he talks about, and he will also make ignorant people look stupid if they have no evidence to back them up. he is very thorough in what he wants us to write down and everything he says is directly on the test. He's easy if you study.
Naji is an arogant man, sometimes he can be really annoying. Basically, if he doesnt agree with it, it is not right. Test start off easy but then get harder. He can sometimes be funny because he speaks the truth! But if you class is filled with idiot student (like mine) the class becomes very painful to attend. Overall the class was okay.
TAKE... HIS... CLASS...
Worst teacher at fullerton college. I busted my butt in his class, showed up every day (didn't even leave when he offended me extremely), read the chapters, and worked on each study guide for hours...and got the worst over all grade I've ever gotten. Take ANYONE ELSE if you possibly can.
It did not matter if you were conservative or liberal. Naji was out to criticize the policies of the government. If that offended you, Naji would try to lure you into a debate or have you explain your beliefs. Some people couldn't do that so they kept their anger sealed up for these comments. God forbid, that you actually rationalize your beliefs!
this is a very hard class. even you you study for an hour a day it will still be hard. his study guides are not helpful and he tries to trick you on tests. he is a smart person but he acts like hes teaching at a first rate schoool like yale and the class is extremely difficult
Arrogant, bitter man who is totally stuck in his beliefs, but probably the best teacher I have ever had. Take the class, you will have to work insanly hard for your grade, but trust me, it is worth it.
This has to be the most hilarious teacher ever! He has the funniest accent and funniest random jokes ever. He talks smack on everyone. He will make fun of you and embarrass you in front of the whole class so the class can have a good laugh. I guaranteed you... that you would definitely enjoy this class and you will never ever get tire of laughing!!
all i can say is that this teacher is one of the best ever, he speaks the truth and his lectures are amazing and very true, he might talk about controversial things, but he is always right.

this professor is very funny, he states the truth, and truley sticks to what he believes in, he will argue with you, and expects you to know about current events. if you disagree with him, you better know your information to hold your own. notes were great, he was one of the clearest professors i've ever had!!
Mr. Dahi is a great professor, gives the best lectures and makes sure you write everything down, he likes to argue but have fun w/you at the same time so make sure you know your stuff or he'll come after you...Best Poli Sci professor at Fullerton College hands down.

Naji is an amazing teacher. Some people do not agree with what he says but what he says is the truth. Before you open your mouth in class, you better know what your talking about or Naji will rip you apart. I plan to take him as many times as I can again.
He is such a good teacher. He makes a lot of jokes but his jokes are offensive. He is kinda rude and straight forward. So If you are person who is sensetive and get things personal you shouldn't take his class.3 exams, final and a paper to write. No extra credit.
Naji is the BEST professor I've ever had. Intelligent, witty, and very opinionated, but backs it up. Do not take this class if you are easily offended. Take this class with AN OPEN MIND, and you will learn more than you've ever learned in any other class.
Good clear instruction. You will do well if you take notes and attend class. If you are not interested in learning do not take him. This Prof. Is for those interested in learning.

the best professor ever! seriously such an amazing teacher, when in his class you feel like you're in a different world its like a drug his lectures are truly mesmerizing, the only class where all the students actually stayed from the first to last day.
Most students like this guy since he is really liberal and funny, but I am an A student and I got my only C so far in his class. Not all the points that he makes and really stands by are correct if you look it up. And he is very arrogant and sometimes openly unfriendly.
I thought he was an OK Professor. He is very liberal, and although I don't agree with everything he says, he is entertaining and really makes you think about our government as compared to those teachers who merrily praise it. His tests are incredibly hard-need to read and study. I got a high B in the class, although I really think I deservedan A.
Naji is a great teacher; very smart. He can get arrogant at times and is very liberal; he let's his opinion on everything known. And if you are going to argue with him, make sure your ready for war. Makes going to class very fun.
AWESOME!! I took this professor several years ago and loved his lectures. He is incredibly passionate about the topic and keeps every lesson interesting. If you know the basic functions of the government you'll pass this class its no harder than highschool government.
Best teacher! Absolutely genuine, he's a real teacher tell's the story as it is. If your neutral or middle-of-the-road when it comes to politics you will love his class. Loved coming to class, to listen to what he had to say. Tests are 100 questions, but fairly easy, if you study. I recommend taking him if your taking politics
His lectures are very entertaining, I looked forward to coming to class. But his tests have quite a few pretty pointless questions on them, and the first was waaay easier the the other two. ONLY class I ever got a B in, and although the class was fun it wasn't worth all the work for a GE. IF it's for your major, by all means take him.
He was funny and very open minded but his tests are hard. He only offered one extra credit and you have to be on time for his class. He was ok but If I had a choice to retake this class I would not take it with him.
Loved this teacher! His notes are very clear. Go to class everyday, take notes, read the book and you'll do well. He's hilarious and has an interesting opinion on politics.
Honestly most people say he's really hard but I believe its just the other professors that are too easy. If you get an A in his class it will be the most rewarding feeling you'll get at fullerton college.
This guy is probably my favorite teacher I have had, period! He definitely has his opinions, and he will debate with you to hell, but your opinions don't matter at all to your grade, agree with him or not. Tough teacher, but you will understand this topic if you put the work in! Would highly recommend if you can be dedicated and open minded!
I took Naji at CSUF and I must say he was Wonderful!!! I went to class and took good notes, studied the notes and aced all his classes (had some great debates too). He is only hard if you don't go to class, can't take notes and don't study. If you don't do any of those things, you should not be in College anyway so who cares if you do poorly! :-)
just started taking his polisci101 course, and i think naji is a pretty awesome teacher! he is very real and honest, and we've been talking about some very interesting and current events. btw, his attitude is great, just keep in mind he's not there to babysit and we're all adults here!
Naji is a very passionate teacher. He will argue a point into the ground until everyone believes in his view. I thought he is very knowledgeable, but needs to keep his opinions to himself. You will take notes the entire lecture. If you show up more than 15 minutes late, don't show up at all. He will kick you out & lock the door behind you.
Very difficult teacher but you learn a lot from him. He's very opinionated and is not afraid to let you know what he thinks
super liberal and is pretty arrogant at times. lots of notes, so make sure you're there to take them. tests are easy, but pretty long (100 questions). can't wait till the class is over..i feel like a prisoner.
I got a 63 on my first test then, 83, 88, then final IDK. I got a B in this class. This man is amazingracer/tuner + Phd in polisci. damn. loved his lectures I'm a pre nursing major and he made me love polisci. just study/ find all the answer to the study guide &go to class. you will get a B.
Amazing professor, defiantly learn alot about politics..ALOT of notes so dont miss class. Great teacher would defiantly recommend to take his class!!
Dude has an issue with not bieng right. He HAS to be right even if he is not. Witnessed him throw a tizzy one time stating "Well I guess my PHD doesnt mean anything..." Other than that the class is ok. I like just having lectures and a test. He bad louths the government quite a bit and at some times it is amuzing at others its just kinda annoying.
All you have to do to pass is take notes. Very easy class if you dont miss days and take lots of notes.
if you disagree with him he will beat and then tell you i guess you know more than me? and tell you about it after words. he points you out by your appirance(black women #1) and hates religion
Best teacher at Fullerton college. If you are easily offended then this class is not for you. You will learn in this class and finish with knowledge of American government. Remember: write that down.
Naji is one of the few professors at Fullerton College that can rationally explain almost everything there is to know about American Government. I highly recommend to take this professor if you are willing to learn the "beauty" of politics. If you are easily offended and do not show up to class on a daily basis I recommend that you do not.
Naji was super entertaining and interesting. However if you are easily offended this class may not be for you. His tests are pretty difficult. And his paper is impossible to pass. It was the funnest class to fail though!
Very easy class, anyone who complains is just plain lazy. Attendance is optional, but I recommend you attend EVERY class, most of the test questions come from his lectures. Grade consists of tests and activity paper (easier to do than it appears). No homework or quizzes! Take this class only if you are self motivated.
The subject was interesting but his overbearing and arrogant insistence on being right about everything ruined the class. The worst thing is- even if he's wrong he will start yelling louder to appear to win a subjective argument. I was put off by his assumption that students are feeble minded enough to be swayed by his ranting.
AWFUL!!! Completely biased, rude and unbearable!! He always thinks he's right and any opinion that contradicts his, is wrong. The class itself isn't hard. Sitting through it is the tough part. Just show up, take notes and study his study guide.
It's boring, you go to class everyday to take notes for an horu and a half and listen to give his own biased opnion on the state of the world. Understand he thinks your all idiots and anything other then his belief is automatically wrong. I wouldnt recommend him for anyone unless you NEED the class...
Funny prof Really hard if ur not a person that can study He should run for president he knows about everything about the government
He's a good professor! You will learn and see things in a different light unless you're a close-minded person, you will hate the guy. Very hard to get an A. Only 10% of the people would be lucky enough to get an A so if you value your GPA, don't take the class.
Easiest class ever!!!! You take 4 tests and write a 4 page paper. Cake!!!! I got an 85% on the first test, 67% on the second and a 78% on the 3rd. He never told me what I got on my paper (when I asked he said you won't know lol) and I have no idea what I got on my final. But I got a B in the class??? Easyyyyy!!!!!
Best Political Science Professor. I took his class a few years ago and his life lessons have stayed with me. He's not fo everyone but I highly recomend him.
Awesome teacher! He acts like a hard ass in the beginning but he really lightens up. His lectures are interesting and he gives out a complete study guide for every test. The people that failed did not go to class and didn't do the study guides.
I will never forget this class, he is so funny. You should be really open minded if you are taking this class because some people seem to be bothered by him. MUST ATTEND one day of missing class is a big no no. MUST WRITE NOTES and your hands will hurt. Do the study guide for the tests and you can pass
Dude is hilarious. Take the class if you want to learn
I took alot of notes, sometimes its hard to catch the things he says.he knows his stuff though, very good professor. Do the study guide and read for his tests. One essay that is not to hard. Attendance is 10 points. And if you take this class its better to have an open mind. Passing is possible but you need to dedicate time to it
He had his moments where he was funny, but most of the time he would say demeaning comments about women and anybody who had a religion. Don't take if you are conservative. Before taking this class, i enjoyed political science, afterward however, i hated it. Do the reading, and the study guides and show up to class.
This is the second class that I have taken with Naji and I would take another if available, even after considering I have got C's in both classes. His exams are very difficult and his classes are not easy to pass; however, he knows and loves political science! His lectures are very interesting and he wants his students to be knowledgeable!
Absolutly LOVED this class. Naji is hilarious! I hope/wish all professors are this fun. Open discussion every class, he teases classmates but you can also tease him back. Tests are 100 mutli questions. Don't miss days and he lets you bring a laptop to take notes. Take this class! It rocks! Oh and he's a conspirecy theorist. Learned a lot.
grade based on 3exam+final&a 4-5pg paper. he tells u exactly what to write down for notes. they are designed for the test. its important to go to class. study guides are also rly helpful. tests arent that hard, u just need 2 study notes & actually read the text! if u participate, he WILL grill u on your opinions. make sure u can back up arguments!
Go to class, take notes, due the study guides and read the book. This class is pretty straight forward and is not for those with weak minds or those who tend to get their feelings hurt. Even though he sometimes says stuff you do not agree with he will back it up 100%. Be open minded and take in as much as you can, this class will change your life.
Naji's a great teacher & he's super funny. Those who get offended by what he says just doesn't have a sense of humor. He rarely takes roll & he doesn't give homework. 4 exams & an essay assignment is all. He gives studyguides beforehand. At first, he comes off as strict, but he's a really sweet guy. You'll learn that through class time. Fun class!
Take prodigious notes, and you'll be fine. He isn't an easy professor, but his detailed knowledge of the material gives his students an excellent opportunity to get an actual education out of the class. Most interesting course I took at FJC by far.
agreeed with what most other said, funny, distinctive opinion-minded. a lap-record holder (yes, he races). attendance is semi-needed, just catch when he will take roll, now KEY to get good grade is to LISTEN IN CLASS, reading is so importantant. very helpful professor, i missed the 2nd exam and let me retaked.
His lectures can be a tad boring, but he makes jokes to wake people up. He never takes attendance, but its good to have a friend in the class to mark you there when he passes around the roll sheet. The tests are 100 questions long with only 1hr 20 min of class! No homework. You'll fall behind if you dont study.
You have to be open-minded to really enjoy this class. If you are a very narrow minded person you will not like him. His exams are hard. Have to take REALLY good notes, READ all the material and DO the study guides. If you have a student that states there opinion the class well be very entertaining.
take it. so far the best class at FJC
He is a very liberal teacher so keep in open mind when attending his class. Take good notes and do all of the reading and study guides if you want to pass his class! Take him, he is a very entertaining teacher!
Take this professor. He knows his stuff and is funny. His classes will challenge you and make you think."Easiness" is a misleading category to rate- if you revise your notes and attend classes AND LISTEN, passing the class is a piece of cake. If you want to not show up and get an A, it's probably not going to happen.I highly recommend this professor.
He's really brutally honest with his subject matter but he tells the truth, as far as his classwork its pretty easy, his tests are lil hard so prepare for them by doing the reading. Gives the best lecture notes.
Take good notes, listen, read and study! you will get a good grade. You need to take him, BEST teacher at fjc. He makes the class very entertaining.
read the book, take the notes, be interactive and keep up on current events and you will love this class do not and he will target you and make you feel like the dumbest person on earth
He was literally one of the best professors I have ever had at Fullerton College! i barely read the book but went to almost every class and studied for exams using the study guide, do that and you'll pass. His lectures are entertaining and interactive. Plus it helps that he loves what he does and makes the class fun. I highly recommend this class!!
Naji Dahi is an awesome guy. The amount I learned in his class however doesn't reflect in the grade got. His tests are pretty hard but if you use the study guides he provides, you will get passing grades. Take him! You won't regret it
best teacher ever, must attend class in order to receive the notes but I learned so much from this professor!
Super liberal guy. If that bugs you, don't take him. That said- he's a great teacher. Funny dude (talked s-hit back and forth with me on the first day), lots of notes, tests are difficult and require work but he gives you a study guide that covers most of the test. Show up, listen, and put the effort in and you'll be fine.
Best professor I've had at Fullerton College. His classes are extremely interesting- and fun. Yes, he is very liberal, but he shows you FACTS. I enjoyed his class so much I took he Middle East Politics class just because. And I'm glad I did. If you go to class and take the notes, and maybe read over them a few times, you will do fine on the exams.
Naji Dahi is a legend, truly a teacher of the top echelon <I learned that word in his class. :) Take Middle East Politics. Go to class every day and write down what he says verbatim. You will have to work for an A. Favorite teacher at FJC, he prepared me for university and shaped my politcal ideology. (PS Naji deserves a chili pepper, a total babe)
The passion behind his work is amazing. All exams need to be studied for, the study guide is essential alongside notes to pass the exams. Stay engaged in class take the best notes you possibly can (hard not to-he repeats himself twice)& you will pass. Oh and he enjoys counter points, more often then not he will win...very entertaining to watch.
Best professor I've ever had. hands down. Amazing class and you learn SO MUCH! Naji Dahi is amazing. Highly recommended without a doubt.
Naji is by far the best teacher I've had. Super cool and funny, yet you actually learn in his class. BUT, you MUST actually put some work into studying for exams. I am satisfied with the B I got but I wish I had studied more! STUDY his guides, but also READ READ READ. The chapters are long but you WILL benefit. I loved this class so much!
Took Naji for 2 courses, PS101 and PS200. Naji is an equal-opportunity offender so if you don't like getting your feelings hurt, don't take him. He welcomes challenges but you BETTER know what you're talking about or else you will be embarrassed. Lots of lecture & note taking. 2 ways to an A: know world/Amer hist or take good notes & read the txt
This was bar none my faviorte teacher i have ever taken, because of him i am now double majoring, he called me his soul mate because of my knowalge in the political process, i took many many many notes and i had so much fun in his class
Naji is the best! Best professor I've ever had. Im a political science major because of him. Hes hilarious but also strict. 4 tests one paper TONS of note taking. Don't miss class or show up late or you will be sorry. Take his class with an open mind and you will learn and enjoy. Naji rocks!
Naji for president
One of the best professors on campus. He picks with your brain and challenges you on various topics. Not your average POSC.
Naji is a very good professor. His study guides are long but you can always divide the work load with other classmates. Very chill professor. A nice and easy person to approach. If you get on his bad side then he will shut you down. Do Not Leave His Class Early!! His course could make you or break you depending on the effort you put into it.
Great teacher! He's hilarious and outspoken. Class has no homework, just 4 tests and one paper (make sure to pay attention to the paper). Do not be late to class, do not leave class early. STUDY! You need the book. You might not use it that much, but you need it (for the paper). Only argue with him if you know what you're talking about.
Great Teacher, as mentioned he dictates what you need to write. Be sure to use his study guides for the test and know them. There are NO assignments aside from the 3 tests so you will not be able to make up if you do bad. We had an essay on the schedule and he scrapped it making the tests even more important. Love to take more with him.
Very passionate in educating his students!!!
Lots of note taking in this class! It's not the easiest, but this is by far one of my favorite classes I've taken. Also, don't argue with him if you don't know the subject so well because he will embarrass you. Not a class you can skip and show up for the tests and think you will be able to pass. Go in with an open mind and you will do great.
You don't have to be interested in political science at all! He will make the subject interesting and make you think. His class is solely note-taking! His quizzes are 95% notes and 5% textbook. His class was easy because he has all the quiz study guides on his website, basically the quizzes itself. It may be easy, but you get a lot out of his class
I did not like this guy, he is very opinionated and if you don't agree with him, it's better to keep your mouth shut. However, he is very passionate about the subject and he knows what he is talking about which makes it easier to learn and focus. Just do the study guides, take really good notes and you'll do fine on the test.
I love Naji, but he's not for everyone. He has strong opinions, but he backs up EVERYTHING he says with sources. Not agreeing with him won't affect your grade; he'll just tell you why you're wrong. Big deal, part of being an adult. I didn't always agree with him myself, but he's the best professor I've ever had. Take notes, READ, and you'll pass.
I love professor Naji! He is very straightforward and very funny as well. He inspired me to pursue Political Science. All professors should be like him!
The best professor I've ever had, period. Tough exams, but very interesting lectures.
Naji's class is the best he manages to make politics seem really interesting. Attendance is important because he randomly takes roll. There are three tests which are kinda difficult and a paper. ITS IMPORTANT TO STUDY FOR THE TESTS OR YOU WILL FAIL. Its not an easy A but its super interesting, highly recommended unless you're super conservative.
Lectures are very interesting
Naji's class was great! Key to passing is going to every class & taking detailed notes! Lectures are interesting & you actually take political knowledge away from the class. His rules are fair & you do need the book sometimes. 4 exams 1 paper & he gives study guides!! Pretty straight forward class! Take him!
This Professor is honestly a bully. He is that teacher that makes you feel like he is there to fail you. Its a government class and he asks your political views and if they are against his he will shut you down. Besides that 4 tests that are about 80% on lecture, 20% book and you have to write one paper. I would find a different teacher.
I have recommended several students to this class. Best prof at fjc, hands down
Great teacher! All you do in class is take notes so take them, he goes very slow to make sure you get them. Gives study guides, do them. READ every night, it'll make your life a lot easier. Only 5 grades. 4 exams and a paper. Start paper early. Final is not cumulative.
Great teacher! He is able to take a dry subject and make it interesting. Does the best possible to keep his personal beliefs out of it and sticks to the facts. Very entertaining in class. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to have fun learning a boring subject! TAKE NOTES!
Awesome teacher Takes a drastically distorted, boring, and corrupted topic and makes it understandable, interesting, and intriguing Does NOT PREACH Passionate and patient If you're looking for a class about the US government that just furthers your own distorted views then go take a diff teacher Naji keeps it real and doesn't sugar coat
If you don't want to spend the entire class writing then don't take him. He also gets off topics and then rushes to say everything at once in the end. And only repeats himself twice.
entire class he reads notes word for word off an iPad for u to copy, so u dont really retain the info. tests are hard, & didnt always reflect the 10 pg study guides that take 16 hrs to study. doesnt give tests or essay back, so no feedback and u must blindly accept ur grade. avg test grade for class was a D, good luck! likable guy, horrible teacher
honestly, you must read the book to pass the tests. the notes and the study guide aren't enough. Because I read the notes, did the SG, and read the book, the lowest grade I got on the test was a B+. Very interesting lectures, you will write a lot, but if you pay attention, they are very informative. i like that he isn't biased when teaching posc
great teacher. very passionate about political science. I showed up to class and took the notes(lots of note taking) and for me I never studied the study guide or read the book and got the 8th highest grade in the class which was a B. nobody got an A. he doesn't give A's often. must work hard for them. I would recommend taking his class, fun class
The Political Department doesn't realize that maybe there might be a different type of teacher beside him, for Political Science Intro 200, for some of us it is a major challenge of the way he teaches, not fair and we deserve as students to get another professor as an option for this class.
Fun teacher I learn a lot of things in this class. Exams are very hard you can't use notes. His study guide is nothing like the exams. You need to eat, sleep, breathe about the notes in his lectures. Write down AND memorize everything he says in class. NOTES are a must and you need to attend every class. I think this teacher is awesome! Hard Exams
He will challenge your beliefs and he will win. Critical thinking is all that matters.
He makes you write it ALL DOWN. You are warned and there is a reason for it. The tests are 100 questions but the study guides are straightforward and extremely helpful. DO NOT procrastinate the thought paper! He makes you question your knowledge but he respects all opinions and is a great person to learn from. He never misses a class.
This was my second class with Prof Dahi. As with all his classes he will spend the time dictating your notes to you. Be ready to write as he expects you to take notes every class. Expect to be exposed to ideas and opinions you may not like or agree with, but welcome to college. I will miss him very much. "write it down!"
Loved his class! Interesting lectures supported by lots of data. If you are overly sensitive and cant stand someone challenging what you think, then dont take him. In fact, just drop out of college. He is helpful during office hrs and willing to discuss and answer your q's about politics. If you want to learn and be challenged, I recommend him.
Very inspirational teacher. He cares a lot about what he teaches. Great teacher and I would take him again. You do need to study for the tests though; your entire grade is four tests and an essay.
This class has been the best class I have taken. He lectures the entire time but he keeps it very interesting and is passionate towards what he teaches. He is overall a great professor who will challenge your way of thinking. If you're not into politics, this class will definitely spark an interest for you.
Naji is a good professor. A very realistic man, but the only thing I didn't like about him was that once someone starts winning an argument with him, he tends to threaten people to kick the out of the class. Also he has been mean to quite a few ladies in the class. Unless you are a strong personality keep your mouth shut and study.
If you are conservative you better be quiet or be prepared to defend yourself, he likes to pick on your kind. Otherwise, he's a fun teacher, his lectures are very good for the most part, and he backs up what he says with statistics. His exams are long, but relatively easy. No homework at all, his entire grading policy is based off exams.
Tests are wonderfully easy, especially in view of the fact that you are given an extremely comprehensive and detailed study guide before the tests. He loves the sound of his own voice, his lectures are a chance to preach from his soapbox, so if you disagree with him it will become even more tedious. Know the study guides and you'll get an A.
I've taken him 2 times, the previous fall and now this spring semester. I got a D my first time taking him, very harsh grader and assigned a lot of work. Very hard for a G.E. Same thing this semester, picks on students and is not fair at all, tough exams, many assignments, don't let other review trick you. AVOID AT ALL COST! Currently have a C-.
Whether you do or don't agree with his politics, he does back up everything with facts. This is my second time taking him. I read, study and hardly miss class. I have scored in the top 5 in every test. I definitely could have read more but his class isn't hard at all if you actually put effort in it. Gives study guides in advance.
For the C student & Honor student: Professor Dahi is a great professor! Warning, he has passionate opinions about politics/govt. regs., and will challenge your opinion. Just showing up isnt enough-sorry! You hand write all your notes while he tells you what to write, and I would advise reading the material! Test can be very long- be prepared! GL:)
You actually learn a lot in his class. He is very straight to the point with his lectures and is obviously passionate and what he does. He's funny and gives a lot of life advice. Really enjoyed this class. Highly recommend but expect to write a lot and actually study for his test! If you do the review sheets and study, the tests are a peice of cake
This class was super fun, great mind blowing lectures. He is very opinionated, but it's great that he is not a lukewarm professor. He says it like it is. I completely forgot to turn in the Paper assignment... always look at the due dates in the syllabus. I didn't study at all. If I did I probably would of gotten an A. Go to class...
Love him, lots of notes, 3 exams one paper, tough grader, has study guides, 100 question exams. Cool guy. Taken him twice got a C both times.
WRITE IT DOWN. loved Naji! He has very passionate views about US politics. He will challenge you to question your knowledge of political beliefs and can be a little bit radical at times but he means well. He's a very tough grader and you NEED to show up to class. I missed 2 days and fell behind. I loved that he was organized and showed visuals.
Naji is hands down, the best. His class is just lecture and I highly recommend that you attend every one of them because that's where you get all your notes from. Study from his website and the textbook in addition to your notes. No homework, 3 exams, 1 final, and 1 paper. Don't slack on studying! I 10/10 would recommend you to take his class.
Naji definitely makes his views clear, but is unbiased in his grading. He talks about de-socialization of students in order to see government and politics in new light. The class is self-study based, but Naji has his own website filled with all the tools and keys you need to ace his class easily. Very communicative and always keeps his word.
one of the best and most memorable professors i've ever had. i never used the textbooks because he goes over everything in the lectures, you'll have to be good at notetaking and write down everything he says. the papers were easy, definitely would have gotten an A if i made an effort :-)
Couldn't stand this teacher the whole time I was taking his class, and I'm currently still enrolled. His class is meant for liberals and not conservatives and if you have any opinion at all, get ready to shove it. He could care less about your opinion because his is all that matters.
This class is lecture heavy, so if you miss class frequently, you won't pass. There are quite a few exam questions that can only be found in the book, so read! Naji does have his opinions, but doesn't play sides. He always backs up his lectures with reputable articles, facts, charts, and polls. I've enjoyed this class and learned quite a bit.
He lectures the entire class but lectures are very interesting and eye-opening. He says the notes out loud and gives you plenty of time to write them down and repeats them twice to make sure you've got it written down. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PROFESSOR! Has review sheets for every test and only one paper that is due towards the end of the semester.
Naji comes off as very tough but has a great sense of humor. Tests are moderately hard, always 100 questions. Study guides are important but can be found online. Lectures are a must but are well worth it, very clear about what will appear on tests.
Great professor. Naji is hilarious and I learned a lot from his class. He's great at lecturing, I wish my other professors had lectured with the same enthusiasm. This class would be a great class to take if you don't mind putting in a lot of work. Attending lectures are extremely important, if you attend or don't study you probably won't pass.
class: exams and a paper. if you dont go to class you WILL NOT PASS. No homework except for reading - youll need the book to do the paper but its only like 6 pages. you could ask a friend/classmate for the pages, no power points. notes are literally him speaking and you "writing it down" must be a good note taker take caution when taking him!
By far he is the Best professor at lecturing. Tells you exactly what to write down and what is on his tests. Must go to class in order to pass. Do the exam study guides and you will pass his tests. He is also very funny. Don't take his class if you are not open minded.
Horrible. JUST HORRIBLE. don't take him!! His tests are ridiculous.
This guy is really funny and pretty down to earth. His lectures are relevant to the tests and he also gives you study guides for them as well. If you're shooting for an A, You will probably have to buy the book for this class because the study guides and lectures only go over about 85% of the tests. Good enough for a B but you'll have to study.
If you need an A, don't take him. He brags that less than 5% of his students get A's. He's not as smart as he think he is, but he's like cartoon character as he rants and raves.
MAKE SURE you attend class because if you don't have the notes you are screwed for the exams (which make up your overall grade other than one essay). Prepare to do a lot of listening and writing (you basically have to write everything he says). Personality wise, he's funny, has a cool Lebanese accent, and manages to keep the class entertaining. :-)
Naji was the best professor at Fullerton College. His class is hard, but that's the way it should be. It requires that you go to his class, but that's the way it should be. It requires that you read, but that's the way it should be. It requires that you study, but that's the way it should be. Pay attention and study, and you'll do great!
Very interesting professor, though he does rub his views on you. Don't take if you're supremely religious and can't handle being mocked. But very very good teacher. Teaches the course material well and gives many other eye opening facts about the world.
Naji is life. Easily the best professor at FJC. Incredibly passionate and funny. Has hard opinions, but will respect yours if you back it up. Love him more than my own parents. Great hair. Great laugh. The only God I worship.
I have taken 3 classes w/ Dahi: American Government, Intro to Politics, and Politics of the Middle East. Pros: Dense, rich lectures. Passion and consistency Cons: His style relies on memorization and not on the critical thinking skills of the students. However, the information to be memorized is rich and plenty for any typical JC Student to handle
Professor is a great personality, the first day of class he is upfront with the grading rubric, his RULES: Purchase the (current edition) book Open the book Read the book Show up to class Attendance in this class in MANDATORY Turn off the ringtone on phone Advise before leaving class early No arriving 10 minutes late He's a great person, I r8 9/11
Naji is a true Independent. Doesn't affiliate with either party. Doesn't believe in religion. He equally dislikes both parties and all religion, points out their faults. Great lecturer, readily available for help in understanding subject matter. One of the best professors on campus. Write It Down and you will pass. Not for close minded students.
Makes me uncomfortable but he's a good teacher.
This man is great! Seriously, if you are willing to accept a challenge TAKE HIS CLASS. If you want to grow as a scholar TAKE HIS CLASS. His wit, intellect, and passion for the subject is what makes this professor/class great! TAKE HIM. Give it a shot. (WARNING: not for the weak minded or for the sensitive soul) Nuff said.
Naji is the best professor I have ever had. Very passionate about the government and hilarious. He will challenge you and your knowledge of government. If you don't know the difference between a debate and an argument, this class is not for you. Debates between students and teacher is his form of learning. Much respect for Naji!
THE TRICK TO AN 'A' ON TESTS : Take the notes. When he pulls up graphics on the overhead, write down what he's noting about them. 3 days before the test, read through all of the material, one chapter per day. Answer every question on his study guide and memorize the answers. By the night before, you should have 80% memorized. Day of, at least 90%.
Great professor with amazingly inspirational and fun lectures. Highly intelligent professor, who is passionate about what he's teaching. I would definitely take a course with him again just for the amazingly fun lectures. Tests are easy if you keep up with the reading and pay attention in lecture. Next to no homework which I love.
Naji is very intelligent. He often talks about everything that he doesnt believe in. Its not for the sensitive because he WILL talk about how you are wrong. Nevertheless he is a good professor. No homework just read A LOT. Attendance is MANDATORY. Tests arent that bad if you study and read. Get ready to write A LOT, YOUR HAND WILL CRAMP UP
Don't get me wrong I liked Naji as person. If you take this class be ready to basically teach yourself. He'll lecture the entire class period. He requires you to take notes but doesn't put them on the board, you have to be writing while listening. Total of 3 exams, each 100 questions. Notes will not be enough to study off of so you have to read!!
If you're not able to handle jokes don't take his class. He's known as the "write it down" professor because most likely you will end up with over 150 papers of notes after you complete his class. 4 tests and 1 paper all worth 100 points. The book is used maybe twice. I didn't buy the required textbook and i'm glad I didn't, would've went to waste.
This professor takes pride on the low # of students that pass his class. If you ask me, that's not a good thing. Perhaps you're failing as a professor. He gives a final grade based on 3exams, 1paper, & a final exam. I must admit his lectures are well presented! However, you WILL fail if you're incapable of capturing a heavy amount information. 2/10
Mr. Naji is hands - down a fun professor! He's passionate about the class that he teaches and he wants his students to be as well. Tests are 100 points each but he will give you a study - guide before hand. Barely, takes attendance but it's a true bummer if you miss his lectures.
Amazing lectures that feel like 30 minutes. He is an amazing professor that just makes the time go by very quickly. I would take his class again if I had to.
Dahi Naji is a great professor overall. He really opens your eyes to politics. I went from knowing nothing about politics to become really interested. If you are planning to take a POSC 100 this semester, you MUST take it with Professor Naji. He WILL change your view on politics. His lectures are interesting and he's hilarious. Fun class!
Great teacher and I walked away feeling so much more knowledgeable and aware of politics. Good lectures and he gives you the exam study guides the 1st week of class which is cool bc you have them well before exam. Only complaint is can be offensive to some. He means well but basically called me dumb for being a Christian. Didnt appreciate that.
Amazing professor. Do not take if you are easily offended though. Fun & Informative class. Prepare to take A TON of notes. 3 exams, 1 paper, and a final. Make sure you attend all lectures, he does not post any lecture notes online. If you cannot handle a lot of information at once, this probably isn't the class for you. Tough grader as well.
You can pass the class even without the textbook. Grades are based on Exams and 1 paper only. Be sure to pay attention and take note of every little detail Dahi might say during lecture.
Great professor! He is not for the weak hearted he will tell you his opinion and tell you why he doesn't like yours. He comes off as intimidating but is really knowledgeable. I really enjoyed his class and lectures. However your grade is made up of 4 exams and 1 paper. No homework. No extra credit. Not fond of his grading style.
I've never had a professor close to what Naji Dahi is, be ready. Lectures are fast paced, 4 exams and 1 essay. No homework, but don't be fooled. Study, study, study! 100 questions per exam, however his website contains a very helpful study guide. Also, don't be a sensitive Nancy when it comes to his personality... " and with that I say, bah byeee."
Great Professor absolutely wonderful, an entertainer really, kept me very interested. One paper (easy) very surprised some students didn't do it. takes attendance once a week. lecture notes are IMPORTANT! didn't read the book but there are test questions from there. All you need to do is try. Don't try then you don't pass.
Great professor. Do not buy the book. DO NOT MISS CLASS. All exams are lecture based ONLY. DO THE STUDY GUIDES. As long as you attend lecture and do the study guides, you will pass. Guarantee.
He is by far my favorite professor he made me feel passionate about politics he really knows what hes talking about. Hes a tough teacher but you will learn so much
He peaked my interest in politics I didnt know I had! I would recommend this class if you are ready to pay attention to every sentence he says! You will learn a lot and you will become less politically ignorant as he exposes you to the truths and data of things.
Very good teacher. Never misses class though.
Attend class & be ready to take lots of notes. Hes super funny and doesnt sugar coat anything so be ready. Id take his class again , he opened my eyes to the reality of politics.
Takes attendance at random. Prepare to to a lot of note taking, it is required. If you aren't, he will kick you out. If you are late to class more than 15 mins, don't show up or he will kick you out. He isn't going to sugarcoat anything and won't hesitate to call you out in front of the class. I'd say he's one of the best professors I've had yet.
Be prepared for hand cramps due to all the notes you have to take. His lectures are long but very interesting and informative. He is hilarious and likes to make jokes, however, if you are conservative you'll probably dislike his jokes and him in general. Hands down one of the best professors I've had.
At the first day, he will tell you that it is his job to "desocialize" you and he does a great job at it. This class really opened my eyes to American politics and I think its a must take for every student on campus. But, read the book and come to EVERY SINGLE LECTURE and DO THE PAPER. This course requires self-study, but the lectures are worth it.
Honestly he is super passionate about teaching but his class is WAY too hard for an intro to Political Science. He only grades you off of your test scores so if you fail one you're screwed. His study guides are 50-100 questions to study for and exams always 100 questions. If u like Politics take him but if not please don't..
Naji is the best professor there is when it comes to Political Science. If this is your major and you can't pass or don't leave even more passionate about the subject after this class, maybe this shouldn't be your major. He is straight forward, gives you the study guides ahead of time and all the answers are in the book or notes.
Hilarious professor and good teacher (he makes the course interesting). If you're good at studying I'd definitely suggest taking his course. As much as I enjoy the class , I wouldn't take him again just because of the amount of effort I had to put into studying.
Takes attendance randomly. If you're late, don't bother walking into class. Lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. I strongly recommend using a laptop if you own one since there's a lot of notes. 3 exams and one paper total for the grade. Naji is a respectable professor who always backs up his information with facts and research.
Was a good lecture but tests were awful if you miss class, don't think you'll pass the class. Lots of note taking, based off 3 exams and 1 paper.
Grades are 4 exams and a paper, he also takes attendance randomly throughout the semester so make sure you have a buddy in the class. His entire course is lecture and note-taking, but his lectures are extremely good/entertaining & I always feel like I've learned something new each class. Dont skip unless you know govt well, reviews are on quizlet.
Naji is a very cool professor. He always backs up all of his data and really makes you want to learn more about politics & very funny too,but if you ever try to confront him during class, do the class a favor & talk outside of class. Hes very charismatic & an overall very smart man who knows a lot about politics makes learning politics interesting.
Miss lecture and you wont pass. He gives the study guides at the beginning of the year and all answers can be found on quizlet. Tests are a lot like the study guides and lecture, so as long as you do them you will be fine. Great polisci professor. He gives you everything straight out.
Horrible professor. Most of the stuff in the tests are from the book, not from the lecture. The study guides are not as thorough and does not help prepare for tests. There are 4 tests given throughout the year and not one homework assignment, so if you mess up on one test you are done.
This class is pretty rough specially in Summer but no impossible ,he does participation pts. which are worth 1 pt(2% of grade),4 test overall ,not accumulative,be there everyday ,it's really informative, doesn't make it boring , makes jokes of topics, if you study notes& study guide you'll pass & has info on point, wants students to engage (got a B)
Professor Naji is passionate about political science, however, I found two issues with his class. First, your grade is only based on 4 tests and a paper which can make or break your grade. Thoroughly read the textbook and you should be able to pass. Second, his commentary on political science is overtly biased and he doesnt seem to care about this.
Naji is a funny professor. However, he is constantly pushing a leftist agenda. I understand that Political Science teachers are going to be biased in one way or another, but his constant radical rants just get old. It was hard to sit through his lectures when half of it was spent ranting about Donald Trump or America's terrible government.
Great professor. This class is easy as long as you take the notes and pay attention. Hes very funny, but I wouldnt recommend him to someone who is sensitive or is not open minded as he is very open with his opinion. Class is graded based on 4 exams and 1 Paper. Exams are easy and he gives study guides for all of them beforehand.
I came to learn about Government and Political Science, not to listen to this Professors political views. There have been times where he takes up to 30 min of lecture just to complain about current problems. There are only like 4 exams which the study guides are almost useless for. The one paper we have he doesnt explain at all in class.
Naji is by far one of the best professors at this college. He lectures heavy and makes you work for your grade. One of the most knowledgeable professors Ive ever had and is very straight up when it comes to politics. He will have you questioning your beliefs only so you can think for yourself. Wish there were more professors like him!!
Dr Naji Dahi is a very knowledgeable and informative professor. As long as you pay attention and write down what he is saying you will pass the class. Do not worry about neatness or spelling, just get it down on paper. I got mid 80s to 90s on my exams after writing out the study guides provided to memorize the info before each exam.
Prof. Naji is a heavy lecturer be ready to write down ALOT, theres 4 exams and a paper in which you will need the book. For each exam there is a study guide which will help you a lot combine with paying attention in class. I personally enjoy his class and I think he's a great professor.
really lives up to his name "write it down prof" gives great notes and has a website that you do not need to purchase a book. attendance is a must, you will miss out on important notes and possible participation quizzes. i recieved a "B" in his class by just covering the notes. Would take again. we need more professors like him.
Major pandemic fail. He was self involved before the online switch, but thought he discovered YouTube and recorded his lectures which were okay in person, but painfully long. It's like he didn't understand how much had changed for us. I should have dropped. Don't take him until it's back on campus.
naji was one of the best professors I've ever had. i really enjoyed going to class and i learned so much from his lectures. i loved his personality and the class was super fun.
Naji is a fantastic professor with loads of experience. He genuinely loves his job and is extremely passionate about the subject. Be warned, the class is NOT easy and requires work. His criteria is clear; read the book, take notes, answer the study guide, and you should be ok. I recommend forming a study group. Accessible outside of class. FUNNY!!
He's a great and tough professor. He will tell it how it is, good or bad. He's great for polysci majors and general ed. You will write A LOT. He doesn't often take role, but if you don't show up you won't pass.
This man is hilarious. Grades you on very few things. MEMORIZE the study guides and you will pass. Taking notes is easy since he literally tells you what is important to write down. Though it's lecture heavy, he makes it very interesting so it's okay. Also, don't get offended by his humor. It's actually funny. This professor is really worth taking
OMG -- go to YouTube and watch his lectures. He paces back and forth in his living room and goes out of frame. WHY, for the LOVE of GOD - WHY are we watching him walk???? He should just narrate his slides that he keeps pacing in front of. lectures are really long like he's in a classroom, but they just go on forever online. Listen at 2x fast
He is not helpful! E-mail him that you need help? REJECTED the email. Emailed him 3 times to let him know that I am struggling in his class and that his time limit for the test is not enough, he will not budge! Do not take this professor take a different one! He is rude and prideful! He is a professor who only cares about his own schedule!
He is sooo funny. His lectures are good because he literally tells you what to write down because it's important. You don't get homework, just show up and pay attention for 90 minutes and do the study guide that he gives at the beginning of the semester.
Worst professor I've taken at Fullerton College. Tests are difficult with 100 questions, he gives u ridiculously short time to complete them.(never curves tests) Lectures are extremely boring. You are going to need A LOT of patience. He ignored my messages on Canvas.
I should have come here first and read these reviews. Don't take this guy. There are 114 other community colleges in California. You can take American Government online at any of them and get a better professor than Dahi.
I took the online class and found the lecture format to be clear and to the point. Each lecture is about 50 minutes long. This is a serious class for serious students. He tells you that you need to work for your grade. There are only 4 exams and weekly participation quizzes. Watch the lectures, take notes, and do the review sheets, gets an A.
This is the simplest class youll ever take, in a good way. He gives you study guides that contain everything on the test. Watch the lectures and take notes on the study guides, it is that easy. There are no essay questions, no discussions, just lectures and multiple-choice questions. This should be A for anyone who puts in the slightest effort.
This professor communicates with us throughout the week. He sends announcements on Canvas telling us when the weekly quiz opens and then another when it is about to close. He wants us to succeed. There are four exams. Each exam has a detailed review sheet. There are two 50 minutes lectures per week. You can pass or get a B without the book.
This professor is honest and straightforward with his students. He tells you what you need to do to pass his class. Four exams and weekly participation quizzes are required. Two very clear and detailed lectures per week. Watch the lectures and take notes. Do the detailed review sheet. An easy B.
Pay attention to what he says in his lectures. He's very specific about what he wants you to write down and what is important. He treats you like an adult and is not as passive or a pushover as other professors. Don't rely on Quizlet, the study guide and the test aren't exactly the same. But if you truly know the information, the test isn't too bad
do the surveys, watch the lectures, take LOTS of notes, do the study guides & you'll be good. don't need to read the book just use it to fill out the study guide. it's a lot of work, time consuming/tedious, but straightforward. he always sends reminders and adds points to grades if a lot of students miss a question on tests. I liked the class/prof.
Consisted of three exams and daily one question quizzes which were 1 point each. Exams were very difficult with 100 questions and these had to be derived directly from his lectures which were quite long. Lots of work with little margin for error.
Do not take this professor. He is not helpful! Emailed him 3 times to let him know that I am struggling in his class and that his time limit for the test is not enough, he will not budge! He is rude and prideful! He is a professor who only cares about his own schedule!
SO overall I do think his lectures are interesting. Although I will say this, he has so little work to do (four exams only) that if you get a bad grade on just one test/assignment you will fail the class, which I believe is totally unrealistic. Especially since students have real lives and real stress. Exams have questions not on study guide/book.
I really like Prof. Dahi, I thought his lectures were actually interesting and I learned a lot from them. However, I really hated how the class was set up. You have 4 exams that make up almost the entirety of your grade and there are no homework assignments to balance it out. Its definitely possible to do well but be prepared for hours of studying.
3 exams and 1 final. Do not miss participation, its 15% of your grade. Boring online lectures, I usually watch them at 3-4x speed. Don't fail any of the exams, because its hard to get your grade up after that. Be prepared to read the textbook. Straightforward, but inflexible with extra credit or missed assignments. Interesting content, but heavy.
Loved his class. Interesting & easy to understand lectures. Dude is actually interest in what he teaches. Hes well educated on the subject & is actually pretty funny. I almost want to take another one of his classes even though I dont need the credits. I finished the class feeling much more knowledgeable on the workings of American Government.
I took two of Dahi's classes (American Gov and IR) and learned a lot from both of them. You're only graded off tests but he does curve them or remove questions if he sees a lot of people missing a specific one. Lots of lectures- don't forget to take notes!
This is the hardest class I have taken so far. He will give you 100 minutes to complete a 100 question test. There are only 4 tests and some participation surveys which means that your grade is only made up of 4 tests. His lectures are really boring, some people say they are hilarious, but I fell asleep at least once in all of them.
He is a little biased but he tries not to be. If you listen to him you will gain the basic political knowledge about America and can properly act accordingly.
I took professor Naji last semester and let me just say this is one of the WORST online classes. He gives you 3 test of 100 questions each and one final. His lectures are extremely difficult to listen to and him pacing back and forth does not help at all pay attention. He gives no homework or extra credit so just stay away from this class!
Professor explains everything for classroom success. Lectures are clear/supported by data. There are lecture outlines. There are review sheets to study for the 4 exams. You get FREE points for answering a weekly participation question. The course is clearly laid out on Canvas. Watch the lectures, take notes, fill review sheets and it is an easy A.
Recorded lectures that aren't current. Never talked about Ukraine or Ketanji Brown Jackson. If you bomb a test, you're done.
He sucks online. He might be good in person. It's hard to tell. Don't take him online
First, this class is graded by 4 tests, so no wiggle room for mess ups. Understandably, that isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. Fill out the study guides, binge lectures 2x speed and everything should be fine. He makes what to write down very clear during lectures. Tip: Open the transcript feat. on YouTube and search "write it down."
No HW, 4 tests and then every week he takes a poll as a quiz. The class is all lecture and a splash of reading, you just have to take notes on his lectures which isn't hard since its interesting material. He has a website with a bunch of info that helps answer test questions. Study Guides should get you to an A. He is pretty funny.
The class is very structured and you know exactly what you need to do to succeed. 4 exams and weekly participation and note taking are keys to success. He sends constant reminders on Canvas email about weekly polls and the 4 exams. Must have Canvas app. Every exam has a detailed review sheet. Answer the review sheet from notes and book and get an A
Crash course videos will teach you better than this class. The cool thing is there are only 4 tests the whole semester so you don't have much work and it's easy to find the answers online.
Professor Dahi is probably better suited for in-person classes. Online though, it's incredibly difficult. Lectures are incredibly boring, and overall, he is just a strange character. Has a separate camera to show him pacing around his room while giving us a lecture. He also wants to be nicknamed 'Oh Captain My Captain.' Only grades are 4 exams.
My brother took him years ago and thought he was the bomb. He's terrible online and you have to watch the lectures at 3x the speed to not die of boredom. I wish he taught this class on campus and I could have loved it. He's just bad online.
This class is lecture based. It is very easy, if you do the work. 4 exams with review sheets for each one. 100 questions. Be sure to take the weekly participation quizzes. These are basically free points. They will make a difference at the end of class. Almost all of the exam questions are from the review sheets. You will LEARN about government.
Class was easy. 4 exams with review sheets telling you what to study. 20% of the grade depends on participation so make sure you take the weekly polls. You get free points that way. The Professor is very clear and sends reminders every week for the lectures, exams, and polls. He makes it hard to fail the class. I got a B without getting the book.
Professor knows his stuff and explains it all well to make it understandable. However he is heavily biased against a particular president, which made his teachings seem unprofessional. Even as a non supporter of said president, it was cringy. Grade is test heavy. Good luck!
The only work is 4 MC exams but are 100 questions, and he gives you 100 minutes to take it. Some of the questions are not on the study guide or notes so you have to read the textbook and study really hard.
This professor is very biased and grades you based on your political views it makes him very unprofessional. You have a poll each week you take for participation, 3 discussions after the exams which he grades very hard, 4 exams with 100 questions 100 minutes which are based on the long and boring lectures he gives, and readings from the textbook.
He is a good teacher his lectures are very easy but when I took the exams I was lost. Exams were extremely hard and confusing. His review sheets helps just to pass the exam. If you want to just pass the class take him. I want to drop the class but I cannot afford the time I will lose therefore I will continue the class.
Do NOT take this course if you do procrastinate like me. The only graded assignments are three heavy, 100 point exams with a few minimal participation points in between the long weekly lectures. However, if you take your notes, and it'll be fine. I feel bad because Naji actually makes his lectures truly interesting, but its tooooo much!
Naji is a chill professor. He assigns four exams throughout the year, no homework, but these exams are 100 minutes each and 100 questions each. You literally have one minute per question. I don't like his style of this. But besides that, he's pretty lecture heavy and it can be tedious at times. You also need to read a bit with the assigned textbook
I took this class online and it is fairly straightforward. About 60% of the grade is exams. He drops one of the lowest grades on the exams. The rest of the grade is participation in weekly online surveys that gain you a free point and three discussions. I found the class to be organized. Do the review sheets for each exam and you should do fine.
really funny and straightforward profess, easy A if you take good notes during lectures
Super simple to follow. 4 exams, 100 questions, 100 minutes. No lockdown browser, just be "honorable". Two one-hour lectures a week, and a one-question participation survey. 3 discussion posts, do well they will really affect your grade. He's a super funny guy, very open about his beliefs. Lectures are easy to follow, tells you what to write down.
A lil angry, but he's actually a wonderful professor, but his personality might not be appreciated by everyone His class is somewhat difficult because it's information heavy. Take detailed notes and you will be fine! Study and don't use Quizlets you find online, (inaccurate!) Subject is fascinating, but may the odds be ever in your favor.
Funny lectures, no extra credit, enjoyed his class, also applies a lot of real world examples in his class
Not a lot of classwork except for some participation quizzes and lectures. Has one exam per module (4) and a participation quiz every week and 1-2 lectures a week which can range from 40 minutes to an hour each. Discussions are confusing and gets angry whenever you do something he doesn't like, which can be weird and confusing. He's alright.
Professor Dahi is literally my favorite professor of this semester. His lectures are the most interesting lectures you're going to hear. He may come off a little scary and intimidating at first but he really warms up to his students and shows them he cares. The tests are heavily based on the lectures so TAKE GOOD NOTES and PAY ATTENTION!
At of the professors I've had, by far, he is the most caring. Attend his office hours and participate in class. If you are tied to you values get ready to have this class question those. Textbook is optional just use for study guide. Lecture notes heavy. Do the study guides. Earn participation points on survey questions on current events.
His online course consisted of recorded zoom sessions where he did a pretty good job at keeping you engaged and letting you know when you need to write down important information. The quizzes are easy as long as you follow the course materials.
By far my favorite professor at Fullerton! The grade is based on three online exams, participation polls, and an optional short paper. If you skip the lecture, you won't do well as his exams are based heavily on what he discusses in lecture. BUT GO TO THE LECTURES! They are very informative and interesting. He is very knowledgeable in this subject!
This was for the late-start online format and the class was poorly paced in my opinion. Had about 5-10 lectures (each one hour!) due per week(s), with a test after each module. Tests were 100 questions and relied heavy on what was said in lecture, they also weren't opened early. Wouldn't recommend taking the accelerated class.
Pretty interesting lectures, but I can't stress enough that you MUST WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN! Little classwork, just weekly participation quizzes and a few discussions. Test questions are extremely specific, so use the study guides and review notes thoroughly. Funny but opinionated personality. Overall a decent class, would recommend taking online.
Not much to say. 100 question exams. Questions are very specific. The lectures each week are long but speed it up to 1.5x speed to get them done quicker. Discussion boards based on material in class. He is a very tough grader on these. I would get marked down for the smallest little things. Naji isn't the worst. He is probably better in person.
I took his POSC 100 class online, not much homework but has 100 question exams. Most homework was just a discussion board but he is a tough grader. Lectures were super long, over 1.5 hours but at 2x speed it went by faster.
The pro of this class: Very few assignments—just 4 exams and 4 discussion posts (and participation surveys once a week), and watching 1-2 hour-long lectures a week. This class doesn't require too much of your time, but the grading is tough, and your grade depends heavily on those few tasks. Do well on exams and discussions to pass.
Amazing lectures but so many. The exams are like 90% of the grade which if you don't do well, will tank your overall grade. Great prof though!
He is a good professor who gives very long lectures, but he does a very through explanations of the concepts. There are very few assignments for this class, he is a tough grader just read the directions carefully and you will be fine! He even provided examples of the format he expected which really helps guide you to get full credit.
4 exams (including final); one of the first three is dropped. Uses LockDown Browser and 100 questions for each exam. No homework, just 1+ hour lectures, a few easy participation quizzes and discussions (graded harshly), but your grade depends heavily on exams. Exams are not open book, but he gives a study guide before each. Final is not cumulative.
Tests are to be taken in front of your camera and any crazy movement has a chance marking you down. No open note tests even though the entire class is note taking. He's also way to political and it just makes the class very uncomfortable. Just an overwhelming class overall which I don't recommend
Get ready to write in class. If you don't take notes, you'll have nothing to rely on for the exam. He knows what he's teaching, and the exams are manageable(100 multiple-choice) if you study or take good notes.
Good class but hard
