Hard to understand, but very nice lady. Gets behind in lectures, and isn't really exciting, but the class isn't too difficult if you keep up.
Gets way behind in lectures and then trys to catch up for finals leaving you screwed enough to have to study 8 chapters for one 50 point test. Nice lady, just needs to stick to research instead of teaching.
Class not hard if you keep up with reading and study hard for tests. No surprises on exams. Got behind and had to catch up at end...but course was manageable.
very nice and tries to help but is to slow during lecture and so you may have to learn chapter on your own for a test... she repeats a lot to(not in a good way) she very smart and knows what she is talking about, she just has problems teaching it

She is a horrible teacher, but a great researcher, she bring thousands of dollars into ball state to they won't do anything about how horrible she is. She needs to just teach the upper level classes and stay away from the 210 class. She is very unorganized and doesn't get through hardly any of the chapters and then you have to teach yourself half the book. Psy isn't easy...she doesn't make it any easier.
Nice lady but very bad teacher...just straight read off the power point slides which led me to start missing classes because I could print the slides off the web, why go to class and have her read them out loud to you? Very smart and knows a lot on subject, just not good at getting concepts across, I taught myself what I learned.
went to slow, and the cramed in lots of stuff before final. When asked questions can't explain anything clearly just repeats unclear answer. Lectured didn't begin to cover all that were on tests
She does not teach. You have to read the chapters and learn the information on your own.
horrible...very unclear
She takes attendance but all you have to do is sign in in a lecture class (not hard to get around) I recommend skipping and reading instead of listening to her lecture. She loves the purple box at the beginning of each chapter, guaranteed to be on each test. She's one very boring teacher that should take comm. 210 so she can learn how speak
She basically reads the entire powerpoint to you...
Aside from the fact that her English is nowhere near fluent, she does not seem to have a firm grasp of the material. She reads directly from the powerpoint, and when asked a question cannot give a clear (or concise) response. Her class is not worth attending. Tests seem to be very similar to the study guide. Awful class.
OMG! is pretty much what describes what i think. She is a very nice women and I think she means well but she is a horrible teacher and test writer! I believe she should stick to research. All she does is reads the slides word for word. Lecutre is very boring and takes for ever!
Worst ever
Very boring. Exactly as everyone here says. If you take her 210 class buy the optional study guide at the bookstore. Half the test questions are always straight from the worksheets in there
She is a very smart woman. However, her tests can be very tricky (ex: a. --- b. --- c. --- d. only a&b e. a,b,&c). She isn't clear about attendance points or extra credit points. She reads the powerpoints in class, and falls behind the syllabus. At the end of the class she will throw the rest of the chapters at you. The lab is easy points.
She is really a lovely lady, to be honest. Her lectures aren't that bad if you take notes on what she's talking about and if you read prior to class and already kindof know what she's talking about. Go talk to her outside of class- her english may not be the best, but she is the most understanding and helpful professor in the entire department.
Javed is a super nice lady. Her lecture style is "death by powerpoint." Be prepared to sit for 2 hrs twice a week listening to her read word for word off of the screen. She takes attendance, so bring something to do (you will be bored). I studied entirely out of class from her powerpoints and got a good grade. Tough class, but doable. Good luck!
Awful teacher. Don't get me wrong, she's a sweet lady, but her lectures are so confusing. She will say one thing, but then correct herself constantly. Her tests are tricky, and she thinks she can cram 2 chapters in one lecture. Poorly prepared for tests too, we waited 30 minutes in our lab for her to finish copying our tests. Avoid her at all costs
I'll start by saying that Javed is obviously very intelligent and can be a sweet lady. Avoid this woman like the plague! Very unclear. Tests are very tricky and horribly worded. Her lecture consists of nothing but her stumbling through her own power point lecture.
It's a rough class-be prepared to grin and bear it. Read the book, listen to her lectures, go to SI sessions, and read the powerpoints. Comprehensive exams so KNOW the material. If the question is bad or unclear and you tell her, she will sometimes change it. She usually doesn't know she made an error. Nice lady, bad teacher.
This is the hardest class I've taken here. Most of the time I feel like this is the only class I'm taking in all of my 18 credit hours. You will NEED to study about a week in advance for her tests if you want to get at least a 'C' on them. Exams are 70% of your grade, Lab: 20%, quizzes: 10%. I learned A LOT, but you have to suffer a little for it.
Very hard class. She is very confusing and tests are close to impossible. She stands in front of the class and reads off the powerpoints the entire time.
Her class is VERY hard and her tests are impossible. Our GA said her tests are graduate level, so they are VERY HARD. You have to teach everything to yourself because she just reads off the power points during the 2 hour lecture. She is very hard to understand with her accent and she is NOT helpful. Take with another teacher and save yourself.
Very difficult class. Javed is a very nice lady, but brutal professor. You will need to develop top notch study habits if you want to do well in here. If you're here just for the grade, I suggest taking it with another professor. I learned a lot from this class, but it sure didn't come easy. The GA said her exams were Graduate level. Good luck!
Very nice lady, but awful teacher. Hardest class I've had so far, be ready to WORK. You have to teach yourself everything.. I worked my butt off for a B-. Like I said, she means well but this class is nearly impossible.
Absolutely awful professor. Her tests are the hardest exams I've ever taken and it doesn't matter how much you study for them. Lecture is boring. She repeats herself and spends 2 hours and doesn't make it very far. She's a nice person but has not picked up on the need to change her class.
Javed is a terrible professor. She is very unorganized and makes the material a lot harder than it needs to be. I am a straight A student and worked by butt off to earn a B. It's not worth the headache. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Javed is very nice but not a great professor. I struggled in her class the entire semester. The quizzes and tests are taken in your labs so don't take an 8 AM lab (like I did).
Honestly one of the most difficult classes I have taken up to this point. She just isn't clear on what needs to be specified for the tests and quizzes. I was one of the only ones to get an A in the class. Myself along with the class noticed inconsistencies with lecture and test material.
Literally the worst class ever. Lectures are a waste of time but she DOES take attendance. She reads directly off her PowerPoint slides and when she runs out of time due to her non-coherent rambling, she throws the rest of the chapter information at you as you are packing up to leave the lecture. Please try to avoid her at ALL costs.
worst professor at Ball State, this class is extremely hard and the tests are hardly over the generic information, the questions are VERY difficult. would NOT recommend this professor
This is the WORST class ever. Javed is awful her lectures do not help at all. You need to teach your self pretty much everything. The tests are hardly over what is on the powerpoints. DO NOT TAKE HER. This class will make you cry.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Thinks students doing poorly on test is not her fault, even though her tests are over 100 questions for a 50 min period. Lecture are miserably boring, as she reads each word off the powerpoint. Added bonus: She keeps class at least 5 mins over the time everyday. No consideration if you have a class directly after.
This was the hardest class I've taken. She takes a really long time to put grades in. You take quizzes and tests every week in lab. A 30 question quiz is given one week. and then an 80-100 question test is given the next week. Tests are worded weirdly. Lab is really easy and will save your grade. Try to get a different professor. Good luck.
Physiology is a hard class to begin with, so don't expect it to be a breeze. You have to study A LOT, no matter what professor you have. Dr. Javed was very knowledgeable, but not the best lecturer. I took my own notes while she lectured, read the book, and got an A. Just buckle down and work hard and you will be fine.
She really prepared my class well for what people would typically experience in medical school or PA school: there is a Powerpoint, the professor goes over it, and then you figure out how to remember it. Yes, the class is hard when taken with her (I have heard it is easy with others at BSU) but the challenge was rewarding.
Honestly she's not that bad. She got a lot better this year and her tests are basically straight from her powerpoints. I was able to study the notes and and power points and I got A's on her test. I would definitely take her again
Jared's lectures were long but you can get around them. She's gotten easier due to complaints so her tests are a little easier. Most of the questions come straight off the powerpoint and from the back of the chapters. Her office hours are very helpful and I was able to get an A in her class. Not as bad as she sounds
She gives extra as well as rounds you up whole letter grade at the end of the semester if you have good attendance.
She doesn't give much homework which was nice. Her extra credit was very helpful. Make sure you attend lecture to get your extra credit at the end of the semester. Her class was a little tough but in the long run it was very rewarding
If you want an A in Javeds class make sure to look at the powerpoints. This is where most of her test questions come from
You definitely have to attend lectures to pass the tests; however, the questions come directly from the power points that she goes over. Just follow along and you'll be fine!
Loved her! The labs are an easy A and always end early. Attendance is taken during lecture but they're not hard to sit through.
I suggest introducing yourself on the first day in lecture so she'll remember you if you have questions. Take advantage of office hours because she'll walk through the test with you.
Just study the power points and you'll do fine
Javed is ridiculous. She literally reads straight from her powerpoints and could possibly stay on one slide for 20 minutes and go so far into detail that you are way off topic. Her tests are really hard(coming from a student who is on the Dean's List regularly). She's too smart to teach an undergrad PHYS course. I do not recommend her. GET OUT NOW!
This is the worst class I've ever taken. It's a two hour lecture twice a week plus lab, labs are wasted taking exams/quizzes that could easily be put on blackboard, (lab is great but is only like 15%) I'm retaking it with someone else but RIP my gpa anyway. It is brutal. Get out now.
Extra credit really does nothing to help your grade, so don't bank on that after you fail all of her exams. If you can afford to drop this class and switch, do it. This five credit hour class will completely destroy you and any motivation or dignity you had before. You can replace credit hours, but you can't fix your pride.
This class is absolutely brutal. Dr. Javed will spend about 5-10 minutes on a single powerpoint slide. The powerpoint's have about 60-80 slides so you can imagine how annoying that is. Very boring class. If you enjoy watching netflix in class, this is the class for you. Tests are also insanely hard.
She does not explain things at all. Her tests are very long and detailed, and review powerpoints of 5-100 slides. Each test is about 3 or 4 powerpoints. She says that she gives points for attending lecture, but she doesn't. I got a D+ and I attended every since lecture. So many people left. Do not recommend ever. Does not know how to teach.
She was worst teacher I have ever had. Her exams and quizzes are hard. She gives extra credit in them, and honestly they do nothing. Studying the power points do not help because you can know the power points front and back and there will still be questions you have never read about! We waste labs taking them, and if you're a Monday lab good luck.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. She is absolutely terrible and she ruined my GPA this semester. If you are in her class, switch out or drop the class because it is hell. I love science and she ruined that for me. Her quizzes are easy but the test are INSANELY hard and nothing like the quizzes. Says she gives attendance, but no
Would never ever take again under any circumstances. Exams are extremely difficult, impossible to study for. Lectures are generally 2 hours long and the she only stands there and reads off of her Power Points. Sometimes when she's trying to rush, she just clicks through them and has you review everything by yourself. GOOD LUCK IF YOU TAKE HER.
Dr. Javed is a very knowledgable professor but has a difficult time condensing information into what students need to know for exams. My grade increased when I started reading the book and taking notes out of the book. I also looked through the slides and highlighted what seemed important. Her class is difficult, but definitely do-able.
Physiology is a difficult class in general but its so much harder with professor Javed. the exams are a large portion of your grade and they require a LOT of studying. Definitely read and study the powerpoints AND chapter summaries well in advance of the exam in order to retain all the information.
The only thing she has going for her is shes a nice person. But that has nothing to do with the calss. It is so hard. If you don't read all of her super long powerpoints AND the book, you're at a loss. The only reason I passed with a grade I needed is another teacher came in later on. Little meaningful extra credit. Tests were so hard.
Dr. Javed is a nice lady, but does not know how to teach. You will NOT pass unless you read the text book thoroughly, even then you may not do well on the test. Her lectures make 0 sense & the powerpoints hardly cover what you need to know for the exams.
There's a quiz or test every week, so buckle your pants and get ready to study. Her lectures are also extremely boring as she reads straight from the slides. However, the tests and quizzes are not that hard as long as you literally memorize her powerpoints and read the chapters. She gives a decent amount of extra credit that will save your grade!
She is a terrible person. She says she will round grades up and she wont. Tests are impossible. If you ever try to email she will not ever reply. She is rude and does not keep promises of rounding grades up which she said she would. I would never take her ever again.
Honestly, I didnt think she was as bad as everyone thought. This isnt a class where the professors are going to spoon feed you answers. Lectures were boring so I never went, just memorize whats on the powerpoints and put in the work. Study the materials she provides on the study guides because its beneficial, even if you just skim it. SI helps!
Bruh. You read these reviews and question them the first half of the semester bc you will do fine, but by the end, you will be ripping your hair out. You are expected to know so much in such short time. Not only that, but the test questions are extremely confusing. Only graded on tests, quizzes, and lab. She also runs class over so good luck.
This class was so hard. The lectures are straight up paragraphs and material is read straight from them. Takes attendance but never gives an actual grade for it. Lab grade really helps. Takes a lot of studying. You'll do fine at first and get your hopes up but by the end you give up. It is and overwhelming amount of info on each exam. Always behind
If you can have any other professor, I highly recommend it. I had a 2 hr lecture with her in which she read directly off her extremely disorganized PowerPoint. I learned more on my own than in class. But beware it you start skipping or sitting in the back to actually get stuff done, she will start assigned seats and and attendance quizzes.
The only positive that I can find with class is that it will improve your English skills, as she will grade spelling and grammar on tests
Takes FOREVER to put in the few grade you get
Don't take the Monday lab because lab is when you take exams so the later in the week the lab, the longer you have to study for exams. I was unaware of this when I chose the lab. She does not get through one of her 100+ slide powerpoints in 2 hours. She reads off the powerpoint and takes the 2 weeks between exams to grade, too late for help. 0/10
Good luck on this one chief. Buckle up for one of the worst hits to your GPA possible. Really hope you have time to read, you can read that book forwards, downwards, backwards, you ain't going to be ready. Might spend 2 seconds on the most important slide, and 45 minutes talking about a whole lot of nothin'. Good luck my friend.
For someone that can't say thumb, she grades on spelling and grammer. IF you get her as an instructor you need to switch out. If you think that you are smart enough to pass this class then you better buckle up because it is awful
"it gets worst"
This is one of the worst classes I've taken. She reads off of the slides for both two hour lectures each week. She sends around an attendance sheet at the beginning of class. Threatens to make a seating chart if people don't sit in the front of the room. Read/take notes from the book. Tests are taken during lab. Only graded by quizzes, tests,& lab.
Javed is the WORST professor I have EVER had. Lecture two times a week for 2 hours and it is SO tough to sit through. The ONLY reason people show up is for attendance and I'm not even sure if she takes it for a grade. She doesn't know how to teach. We have an exam or quiz every week and the exams are basically impossible. Doesn't respond to emails.
Dr. Javed is the worst professor I have had, she reads straight off the powerpoint slides and doesn't explain any of the information. Her tests are nearly impossible because she pulls out random details from the book that students will never remember. Grades are made up of only exams and quizzes which are given every week.
This is one of the hardest classes i've taken at Ball State. Please avoid this class if you can. The material is way too much especially at the end, and on top of that she is a horrible lecturer. With those two things combined its very difficult wanting to go to class every time. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE MISERABLE.
Dr. Javed has been the worst professor I've had. Her lectures are terrible - she reads straight from the PowerPoint, which I can do on my own time. Her tests are just random bits of information pulled from the textbook. All the grades are tests and quizzes. Avoid taking this course with her.
Her class is extra hard, the exams are no joke and her online lecture videos are VERY BORING since she speaks so low and speaks monotone. The class is interesting, but her delivery is mad boring.
she is absolutely awful. her lectures are boring and her PowerPoint can be 90 slides long which is difficult especially since it is online. you have exams every other week and quizzes the weeks you don't have exams. the exams are very difficult i recommend doing the end of chapter exercises from the book.
This professor is one that I would avoid. She has been the worst professor I have had. I work for my grades. However, this professor does little to no work. She can't post her material on time and offers snarky remarks when emailed. My final exam is in less than a week and she has yet to post any of the 3 chapters to study. F- (AVOID)
Do not take her. This was an online class do to covid, however she stated she would be providing lectures with audio. Lectures were posted late and audios were sometimes never posted at all. She provided no lectures/audios for the final exam even though she said she would post them. Reading the textbook was the only thing that got me through.
This class was online due to covid, but for me there was only a couple quizzes and a lab due each week. Every other week you would have an exam instead of one of the given quizzes. I would recommend this class, not sure how the class is in person tho!
Not a good experience with Dr. Javed, she wasn't always the kindest person and was rude when asked a question. Very lecture heavy and test heavy and since I was online there were posted lectures and those were around 4 hrs long straight.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. it's only week 3 and i'm already struggling. quizzes every week, exams every other week. questions come from absolutely NOWHERE in the study material. no guidance on how to study. doesn't actually teach anything, just reads off the 100 page powerpoint for two hours. doesn't answers questions adequately. very very boring.
I will say, she knows what shes talking about, but she sure doesnt know how to teach it. Unorganized class. Lectures are long & SO slow-paced, we will be ahead in lab & behind in lecture. Does not answer questions very well. Typically two quizzes a week, and exam every other week. Study guides are ABSOLUTELY useless. Basically self-learning.
avoid taking her at all costs. she has a powerpoint every single week that is about 90 slides or longer and all she does is talk and talk even more. We're lucky if we even get through half of the slides. I'm pretty sure we are about five chapters behind and we have one week of classes left. She's also not very helpful at all, in fact can be rude
absolutely terrible professor. study guides are useless, she doesn't actually teach anything. she avoids answering questions and expects you to study for 3 HOURS EVERY SINGLE DAY. lecture is pointless. two quizzes a week and exams every other. she only grades based on exams & quizzes which are 60% of your grade. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS
No homework assignments. 100% graded from quizzes and exams which alternate every week. Does not answer emails. Offered to give extra credit and only did once.
Absolutely the worst professor I have ever had. She is unprofessional and hardly teaches the class. The only thing she does in lecture is read off of PowerPoint slides and ignores questions when students ask them. The tests were much harder than the material covered in lecture.
