He is a very hard teacher, and does not change your grade at all, like most teachers give a curve and stuff. He is more of a higher level teacher, of you're smart, you'll like him. ;o)

I would have to say that this is a somewhat easy class... Professor accent was a little hard to understand in the beginning, but you get used to it after awhile...He cracks some "funny" jokes.. ;) smile and laugh!... For not really listening got an A and B on first 2 tests... Don't have to take final exam, and he gives extra credit for doin' h.w.

He really just tells you how to get an easy A. He gives of extra crdt pts the beginning (*NOT THE END)of the semester. If you do the homework on the computer YOU'RE in GREAT SHAPE. The home work is a direct reflection (just different numbers) of what the test will look like... accept the final exame review.. Mostly the last chapters really.-08

really great professor. he knows what it feels like to work for a degree, so that means you better work for it. he knows whats fair. if you have trouble understanding the material he'll go over it without any hesitation. he never has a bad temper; always glad to teach in his class. His math class will be your best experience in PAN-AM.

Nguyen is super awesome. He is a great professor and he is not hard at all. You don't really need a book bc all you have to do is take good notes and do the online hw. Make sure you do the online hw bc it prepares you for the exams and it brings up your average. Exams are not hard just study and don't be lazy. Take him...you won't regret it!

This professor was not the professor I had originally chosen, but I'm glad they switched him on us. He is a really cool professor and funny. He makes an attempt at making the class interesting. It's really intriguing how he can figure out a problem in his head when we all have to do like 200 steps to find the answer.

After hearing several students claim that calculus was such a difficult course, Mr. Nguyen managed to make the subject fun and interesting. It does require that as a student you do studying on your own but he is always available for any questions you have. He offers alot of extra credit which is helpful in passing the course.

FYI he is Vietnamese! Funny guy and likes to use the words "beautiful" and "magic". If you do the homework and ESPECIALLY the quizzes then you will be OK for your tests.

This teacher is awsome. The quizzes really similar to the tests, so study the quizzes and you should be fine. The quizzes are take home with partners, he even helps you out on them. The way he explains the class is fun and very helpful for the exams. He makes for the class very entertaining and you will learn. Very Easy!!Homework was from the book and only odds so you could check your answers and if you were still confused you could ask in class or visit his office. Quizzes were taken home but help was offered during the weekends.Notes were very simple and to the point.

I highly recommend this professor. I'm a high school student and took his class in the summer. He was always very helpful and made sure students understood the material before moving on. Math is my worst subject and thanks to his ammazing teaching I got an A and actually understood what I was being taught.

He's awesome! I've never, EVER paid attention in my math classes but he makes it so interesting I didn't even notice I was getting into it! He has a slight Vietnamese accent but you can still understand him well enough to get a good grade. He helps you through any problem and you really learn a lot. I highly recommend him!

He's basically one of those professors that make you actually like and appreciate a subject you never looked twice at before. Goes through everything step by step making almost every assignment and test super easy. I felt like I could take on Stephen Hawking in a IQ test when I passed my final. Slight accent but no biggie. I highly recommend him.

My professor introduced fundamental study methods and study guides that were easily self directed toward solving mathimatical formula problems. He encouraged all students to ask questions and to attend tutor labs for extra help. In addition, he provide one-on-one assistance to those whom required it. I belive that everyone his my class will pass.

Excelent professor... Took him for MATH 1334 and 1440... Learned alot with him. If you miss class you will be missing on alot of information. Try not to miss alot. Overall I would totally recomended him to my friends.

He is an overall awesome professor! He gives homework which are online and long but you can try it as many times as you want and get a 100 he gives quizzes which are take home and you work in class with a group on it, his test are exactly like the quiz which is easy! im not even done with that class and I know im getting an A! He is an excellent professor. He is very able in communicating the course as well as explaining trouble areas clearly. He is quite funny and very joyful as he begins the class. The course work itself is honestly not very difficult, the online homework is generally easy as the examples provided make acing the hw likely. I still hate mymathlab :D

Math is by far my least favorite subject, but Nguyen made it easy to understand. He is helpful and gives group assignments for practice. The tests are very similar to the group quizzes. I would definitely recommend him for this class!

Super fantastic teacher! If there was a "super" button for ratings I would click it! He assigns groups to do your quizzes with. Do your homework, the quiz, go to lecture and you will pass the test. Very helpful and available for office hours. Makes lecture interesting with the occasional side jokes. Super great professor! :D

He doesn't have the best accent, yet he can make the class laugh. He uploads his daily notes using BlackBoard. 3 absencesdrop. My Pearson Math Lab subscription is needed for the online homework, don't do it on the last minute, you won't finish. He likes to give group quizzes, three, and then he gives three tests. One final. No textbook.

Probably the best math professor in Pan-Am! He makes learning math simple and is always willing to help the students out with any questions they have. He assigns you to groups of 4 to work on quizzes together. Make sure to ask your group members or him any questions you might have because the quizzes are exactly like the tests. Overall, easy A!

I took his 11p class (College Algebra) which required me to attend Friday sessions with a TA. Best decision ever! I walked in there not know one thing and walked out knowing way more than expected. His Friday challenges made up for quizzes (which may vary per semester it's a new program) and homework is heavy. Still, take him! I assume he curves..

professor Nam is a great and funny professor. he made his class extremely easy, and was always willing to help as much as he could. his course consisted of three exams and a final, several homework assignments from the book, and three quizzes. as long as you study the quizzes you wont have a problem with the comprehensive exams.

I have taken college algebra and gotten an F but once I took it again with Nam. Such a great decision I have made. I ended up passing with a B. I highly recommend you take his class. You do need to attend class so you can get the extra points he gives you. No book required. But he does the most to help you out! You will walk out knowing math!

Math isn't the easiest subject for most of us, but he definitely explained it very well. after failing algebra a couple times before his class, i lost all hope but he was a very good teacher. GO TO CLASS, ASK QUESTIONS. itll make it way easier.

I took Nguyen for Fundamentals of Math I and if you have trouble with math he is the guy for you. He takes his time and always asks if everyone understands. He does have an accent but he is understandable. He allows quizzes to be taken in groups and takes attendance. Trust me, you will be happy that you stay for class. Get him.

He always breaks it down and cracks a joke here and there. The work is so simple because he gives you the answer sheet to it and all you have to do is work the problem out. Group Work is a lot of fun and the work is less when you split it.

I highly reccommend taking Dr. Nguyen for any course in mathematics. He explains the concepts clearly and will help you to understand if you are having trouble. He gives a study quiz before each test to make sure you are fully prepared and know what to expect on the test. I got an A and would take him again.

The textbook is not required but sometimes helps make the material more clear to understand. If you ask a question then he will explain/answer it as best as he can. 3 exams that are short (ex. 20 questions long). For exams just study practice problems, homework, etc. Homeworks usually allow multiple attempts.

Dr. Nguyen is your best bet for Intro to Finance. His English is not the best, per say, but he explains concepts via examples and work problems really well. There are end-of-chapter reviews, which it helps for understanding the material and for the HWs. 2 midterms and a final, exams are similar to the reviews he makes before taking an exam.

Love this man. He's a good teacher that provides you with notes and a video of him reviewing the notes. Granted you have HELLA hw but it's okay as long as you manage your time. Since I had him Asynchronous he put up the notes every Monday and Wednesday and we had a lab (v easy don't worry) every Friday that there wasn't atest.

I just finished his Summer 1 class online, if you put in the effort you will pass. All you have to do is ask questions, if you get stuck, he will go over it clearly. Homework's were on Knewton, and he gives out exam reviews with every exam. He cares a lot about his students, Definitely Recommend, if you struggle with math.

This Professor is the best!! He truly cares for his students and wants everyone to succeed. If you are struggling with a problem GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. Hell explain to you step by step. A lot of homework, but hell extend it if you ask. 4 exams + final and labs every friday. Provides reviews before each exam.

The main thing being his accent. Not bad accent but takes some getting used to. I hardly showed up to class and he never sent a notice but it was reduced/hybrid class at the time. He is a great teacher and shows you how to do the homework problems. Did have to pay to do homework but that's most math classes. Would recommend.

there are alot of hws on aleks but he is very lenient when it comes to deadlines. he will be happy to give you an extension if you ask. the quizzes were unlimited attempts and open-book. on the exams he let you bring a cheat sheet and a copy of the practice exam. this class isnt hard and the teacher is very sweet. dont fall behind and u will be ok

An amazing, passionate professor explains things with clarity, and you will understand if you focus on what he teaches. He is funny too. Very lenient with homework, gives 2 homework assignments per week, extends due dates when you miss them. Before every test, he does a review and gives a review sheet(the test is easier than the review).

A professor with a very caring and joyful attitude. He extended the deadlined for homework if sked and gave good examples although sometimes he didn't do examples for some of the hw problems. Some of the exams can be difficul so I recomend you to study.

Really easy class. Used Aleks for the homework and tests. He lets you print and bring your test review for the test, which are basically the same thing. Will extend deadlines if you ask.

A good calculator helps a lot in this class. Homework was open notes and multiple attempts. Textbook not required, provide ppts of his notes. Exams were in person and made up 80% of the grade in total. They were mildly difficult; he provided a review before so study and you will be fine.

Professor was amazing for Elem. Stats. Used ALEKS program for tests and gave us 2 attempts. Let us review on our own with open note exams as well as partners for quizzes. If you miss PLTL, the assignments done there count for grades and are weighted the same as a test so attendance for pltl is important. Really nice guy, cares about our opinions!!
