Possibly the finest college algebra professor I have ever had. Not easy but more than helpful to his students in a way that if you keep up, you will get a good grade. Would highly reccomend.

I took his college algebra class over this past Summer and even though it was a lot of work in an 8 week schedule, I found it to be one of the most entertaining and knoweldgebale class I've taken, I would recommend any of his classes for anybody.

Al-Niemi's teaching style is effective and enjoyable. He taught the concepts more straightforward than any other alg. instructor I've seen to date. I wish he could teach the rest of my math classes. He was friendly and always willing to explain how the material fit into more advanced topics and real world applications. Awesome professor - A+

His class was difficult, but not overly so. You have to keep up with the homework, or else you wont do very well. He is extremely helpful, in class. In office hours he gives you all his attention. Take Him!

Mr. Al-Niemi was an absolute pleasure to have as a professor. He clearly and thouroughly explained the concepts of College Algebra while maintaining a light-hearted atmosphere. He sincerely cares about students' understanding and success in his class. I would highly recommend Mr. Niemi as a professor.

Honestly, best math teacher you could choose. Tries his best to help everyone understand the material. And does a great job. One of, if not the best, math teachers I've ever had. Also, keeps class pretty interesting with fun jokes. :) definiely best choice, by far. Can't go wrong with good ole' Al! :)

Great teacher, he starts off fast class we were way ahead but i realized it was so we had more class time for review during midterm and final. He is really helpful.If you go to class he will give you extra points which add up at the end.

He is a good teacher and really does care about his students. He will ask them how they are doing today and jokes with the class. He is an good lecturer and tries to simplify the books methods. He is lenient on certain things and will always give help if you ask. Great guy in general. I love his accent too!

Mr. Al-Niemi is a fair teacher and he helps a lot and all what he asks for is to do your best in his course and show him that you care and for sure he will help you. i took CALG with him and i got B. easy on grading. when teaching the course he gives you directly what you need to know and he is straight to the point. highly recommend him :)

I had him for college Algebra and the class was fairly painless. The only issue is we had to do our homework on Connect Math, which really blows and is time consuming. However, this was out of his hands entirely I'm assuming. Also, don't buy the book the university tries to sell you, considering all of the homework is online, I didn't use it once.

Straight forward with course material. Tests and quizzes are simple, no trick questions. Study and review notes and homework assignments and you should be fine.

I took college algebra with him during the summer. He a great teacher and will will try to help you out. Best thing I can tell you is that if you are having trouble passing this class to get into another class. Take this class, but must be dedicated and show up to class and do all your homework and he will help you out.

I took this professor for Cal I, The class was fairly easy, he does not ask much other than quizzes on Fridays and tests every 3 weeks, however I found the class to be very boring, the only thing he does is write on his board from notes he took of the book, it gets pretty dull, Text book isn't really required he does give extra credit before tests

He is such a great teacher! I really enjoyed going to his class at 8:50 in the morning and I am not a morning person! He is humorous! and his tests are really close to the online homework that he gives out along with his quizes!

AlNiemi is one of the best professors I've had here! He is very knowledgeable and presents all the information you need. he is a great guy, cares about the students, and is always willing to help. I highly recommend taking a course with him! he's simply the best!

If you want a good calc1 professor to start off your year, this is the guy to get. I can not recommend him enough. He gives extra credit before every test and you have quizzes every week. The tests and quizzes are simple and are taken straight out of the notes and homework, with maybe a couple numbers changed. He is always willing to help you out.

Professor Naman is one of the best professors I have had at the University of Akron by far. He is very clear in what he expects, always willing to help and genuinely cares about his students. His class went by very quickly because of his outgoing personality and sense of humor. I can't recommend him enough!!!

He is a great instructure, and very helpfull! cares very much about students concerns, wil help out if effort shown. will not fail a student if there is some kind of care for the class. come to class and do your homework and try your best, he will do everything in his power to pass you, even if you do terrible.

Dr. Al-Niemi was one of the best professors I have ever had. He does have a slight accent but that is a non-factor. Very understanding, very helpful. He will push back assignments if you need extra time and provides more than enough examples. He will also talk you through problems if necessary, punctual grader. I highly recommend this professor.

Exactly the professor you need for precalculus. It is far from an easy class, yet Professor Alniemi is very helpful and makes the class very enjoyable. He loves to see students taking their studies seriously and working very hard, a great quality in a professor. He prepared us well for the tests and made me want to go to class. Overall, 10/10.

Al-Niemi is the man! He is such a great teacher who was always willing to offer help if needed! The tests and quizzes were not too hard, if you understood the lecture and homework problems you will do great on the tests! TAKE HIM, and he is funny which was an added bonus!

He is a fair grade and awards partial credit on tests. All of the homework was online. He does his best to prepare you for Calc 2.

Online Hw Gives 5pts extra credit on test if you do review for tests. Also if entire class does very bad on a test, he will let you do corrections for extra points (1-5 pts) Tries to be funny, hits 60% of the time. Slight accent, not hard to understand. Writes notes straight from book , word for word. Read chapter before the class. Helps alot

Great man, great professor. Teachers like him are a great asset to anywhere he goes. I seriously highly recommend to take him for any math courses, but do expect there to be a moderate amount of work.

Very Good Professor, Funny and extremely Helpful.

Weekly quizzes and tests were slightly difficult, he definitely tests your understanding of the material. You can tell he is concerned with teaching you adequately so that you can do well in the next level.

Naman Al-Niemi's Calc 1 class is hard. It's not that he doesn't explain the material well because he does explain it well. It's a matter of logistics. We had online homework. Now when it's online, you can figure out how to work the system and get the homework completed. Just because you get it completed doesn't mean you understand the material.

his notes/lectures are slightly unclear. Do your homework. prepare for weekly quizzes. And do the study guides. they are worth 5 bonus points on tests. Naman is so helpful. He wants students to succeed. Most helpful professor. Go to office hours for clarity. He will move tests and quizzes around if the class agrees. Awesome guy. Highly recommend

I barely passed and I don't know why. Looking back at Calc 1, it wasn't hard. The problem is that this man does not give you a clear guide on what to know. He also wanted us to go home and do the "expand your knowledge" sections in the book, and he would test us over it. He gives online reviews through WebAssign, but those alone are not enough.

He is a very nice teacher. You will have 3 tests and the final. Quiz every Friday. You will get extra points for each test. His class is relaxed. Very fair test (not difficult at all) He is funny and helpful. He do his best to help the students. I highly recommend him.

Great professor! He goes really easy on you. Many hw but he would extend it for you if you miss it. Honestly, he would help you to achieve if you let him know that you are going to work for it.

Get Chegg and look up all the answers for WebAssign. His tests can be hard if you don't put in a decent amount of work. Study the problems he does in the notes and some of the problems in the end of each chapter. He usually gives you a 5% curve on each exam, and if you do the bonus WebAssign, that will add up to a 10% curve on each test.

Great Professor! Definitely wants his students to succeed. Tests come from the notes and homework and there are no surprises. Moves at a moderate pace, always welcome to go to his office hours for additional help.

Overall good professor. Start of semester might be a little rocky if you're struggling with integrals. He does care about his students and tries to help them when he can. Moves at a moderate pace and works on getting things done on time. Some test can be challenging but he is willing to go over material with you if you need it.

This guy is one of the coolest professors I have ever had. I personally did Moynihan do well in the class but that was because I didnt have my study methods down until the end of class. Study. His tests can be quit abstract sometimes. Besides his hard tests he really helps you pass the class. Hes awesome.

Ive taken Calc 2 before and he is by far the best math teacher I have had in college. He is great, funny, and makes it interesting. Compared to other teachers his tests are easy, many people think they are difficult but other professors are far worse on difficulty. TAKE HIM. Most test and quiz questions are pulled straight from WebAssign.

Listen up. This man is the best calculus teacher you could ask for. Super helpful and is allowed always willing to explain things. Very fun and fantastic professor. I suggest sacrificing your first born to get him as a professor. If you have no children, a small animal should work.

this man right here is the man. Best calc 2 professor homework is due often but its graded get chegg for it and youll be fine. Quizes are super hard, but test are ussually straight forward if you study. Awesome as a person to really cares. Ill tell you this even if you have 0% in his class you can still pass his class!

best professor ever. always smiling. please take him for cal ll or whatever he is teaching, if you want to learn and want good grade. his extra credits are not free, you will need to work for it, which is worth it. he is always on time and if there is en exam or quiz, he will come early for the class just to give little extra time students. Dr. Al-Niemi is a really nice guy. He is very theorem heavy (which as an engineer can be eye-rolling). Regardless he is not an easy professor, but he does give plenty of grading opportunities to students. I would definitely recommend taking him.

Please do not take this professor if you want to slack off for an easy A. Mr. Al-Niem is a wonderful teacher and a caring person. He is extremely knowledgeable about his subject. He cares about his students and their success. More than once he reopened online homework, offered extra credit and moved the quiz/exam to better suit his students.

the class is definitely difficult, but he truly cares about his students and is willing to help you out as long as you show improvement/effort. easy to pay attention. homework is all online. hilarious professor who likes to joke around. definitely my favorite professor so far. i wholeheartedly recommend him

He is a wonderful professor. He loves his students. He wants everyone to do better. Makes you think and helps to be creative. If you practice enough and go over his reviews, tests are not hard. Gives chance to earn 5 points extra in every tests. He struggled to pronounce my name but he definitely cared about me. Perfect professor for math class

I wish this guy taught all my math courses. He is reasonably tough but gives lots of chances to earn extra points. Also if he notices students are struggling to keep up with the lecture he will stop and tell a joke or two so people can catch up. He really cares about his students success. This was my hardest class but still my favorite. 10/10

He is nice, take him if you want to have fun in class and always do the assignment before the quiz and review materials from the textbook before the test. All you need is hard work to pass and have a good grade in the class.

He is very funny and makes the class very enjoyable. He is always smiling and always shows up on time. If you study and do your homework, you can easily get an A. He jokes with his students (he always picked on me) and is always trying to help in any way. He is willing to reopen HW's assignments, Gives 5+ extra credit on every test, and will curve.

Arguably the best math teacher I had so far. The difficulty level was hard enough, but it made you learn the material. Use all the resources available and study the homework questions. He puts the homework questions on the tests and quizzes but changes the numbers around. He grades very fairly. I wish he taught all the math classes.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Truly cares about his student's success. Is willing to round up a grade if you prove to him you've improved. There is a lot of hw assigned but it really helps when it's time to take a quiz or exam. Sometimes he uses the exact questions from the hw. The exams are not easy but he is willing to help in any way he can

If i could take every single class with Alniemi i would. I got an A in his class but i did have to work for it. He is a very fair and consistent grader. There is online homework a few times a week, which i did with a tutor and felt I really understood the material. He is very understanding of you need extensions etc. All in all a fantastic prof

He is a wonderful math professor. He is funny and cares about students. He understands that calc 2 is a difficult class and makes it more enjoyable. All homework is online but he gives extra points on the exams. The only thing that I didn't love was the weekly quizzes but honestly most of it was homework questions so put in the work and you'll pass

I had professor Al-Niemi for Calc II. I found him to be very accessible during office hours and willing to give advice in general. Although he is tough, he cares about his students. If you study and work for a good grade, you will leave with a solid understanding of the material and will be able to apply it in more advanced classes.

An AMAZING professor who cares about his students. Honestly, the class is a challenge so if you are looking for a walk in the park, this ain't it but you WILL learn the content necessary for passing on to the next course. Put in effort and he will help you succeed. 10/10 recommend.

He is a good teacher however if math is one of your weaknesses he somewhat struggles to cater to the weakest link. I should say though the weakest links I mention repeatedly asked mind numbingly dumb questions that were incredibly obvious. They either weren't paying attention or they have no hope of going into a math heavy field such as engineering

Amazing teacher who cares a lot about students

Dr. Al-Niemi offers some extra credit, but is a very tough grader overall. Around 60% of the class got a D or below. He genuinely cares about you and your life, and makes lectures funny and interesting. The only reason that I would not take this class again with this professor is that he seems to forget that you are starting from a base level.

Alniemi is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He truly cares about his students and took a little bit of time during every lecture just to talk to us about anything outside of math. He's a good teacher and gives as much credit as possible for exams so make sure you show your work. Calc 2 is not easy but Alniemi is a good teacher to pick

Professor Al-Niemi was one of my favorites for the semester. His lectures were at a faster pace but if asked he would willingly explain a concept further or scroll back up in the notes. The book is not mandatory. There were two forms of extra credit, attendance and completing the study guides.

Best math professor at the University.... By far the best math professor I have had in all of my 13 years of schooling. He makes the classes fun by joking and giving small breaks. Gives out so many examples and notes it is almost impossible to fail the homework or quizzes...

I love this prof so much!! I hate math but he makes it fun to be in class. He gives you everything you need to succeed including reviews for tests and quizzes and extra credit! He is so fun and likes to tell stories and make jokes. Some of the material is tough but he helps you out so much. If you do your work and study you will enjoy this class.

He cares about the students and WANTS you to pass/learn the content. The content is difficult but manageable, just ask for help if you're struggling because it can be extremely hard in certain sections.

Professor Al-Niemi has a unique teaching style that takes some getting used to. Attend lectures, use the free textbook, and try Unstuck study for helpful study prep. With effort, you can succeed in this challenging but rewarding class.

(Finite Math) He does his best to get to know all his students. There is a lot of paper work in class but it comes from the director. You will always be provided a study guide and he will always go over it before the exam. Quizzes every week. Will teach and tell stories. Great Professor definitely recommend.
