Difficult to understand, Professor jumps from topic to topic.

hard to understand, pretty fair teacher, wouldn't reccoment course
accent hard to decipher, simple class, not too hard
I'm sure he's a good teacher, he is nice but has a strong accent and the class is too big and that's not his fault at all.
Very hard to understand. Goes too quickly through the work. Would not recommend.
he is difficult to understand, goes through the work quickly, hates answering questions..does pretty much everything a professor shouldn't
he's difficult to understand
He takes a lot of time to explain stuff to students. He is very willing to help. I was able to ask him questions about chemisty even if I was not taking his class
Doesn't answer questions in person, if he does, he answers the wrong ones. Doesn't listen and doesn't speak English very well. He's doofy and doesn't explain anything clearly. His workshops are very hard.
His tests are pretty easy and he helps you out by giving sample tests that are very close to the actual tests. He is very hard to understand because of his accent, and confuses you when he's trying to explain difficult material--has good intentions tho
Not a good teacher. Though he's nice on grading and test wise, he's difficult to understand
he's not the best lecturer BUT if you want to A's this class u just gotta study. there are no shortcuts. join a group, go to his office for help. the best thing about him is that he cares and WILL help students who put out the effort.
Did not understand what he was teaching, I didn't even bother attend lectures cause I got more confused when I did. Only went for workshops. Got a passing grade but do not recommend to do what I did. Horrible, Hunter needs more capable and clear Prof's.
He's awful. Rude when questions are asked of him. He actually told a student, "I'm not going to answer that. Stop wasting my time!" But as bad as he is, you're stuck because last I checked, he's the only one teaching this class at Hunter.
Hes a good teacher. Doesnt like to answer questions in class because people are too busy fooling around. if you dont understand something, your best bet is to go to his office to ask him because he can provide better attention to your needs.
Terrible professor.CONSTANTLY MAKES MISTAKES WHEN GIVING EXAMPLES. Instead of using examples to help us understand, he uses examples that only complicate things.Just READ THE BOOK. You'll do better that way. Too bad he's the only one teaching.
No need to go to class since you won't learn. Hard to understand. Better off teaching yourself. That's what I did.
he's okay ... not t0o hard n0t t0o easyyy
hard to pay attention to his lectures because of the way he speaks, its unclear. but only good thing about his class is he provides sample test to study from. if it wasnt for those i would fail! chem 100 was easier because there was workshops. 120 doesnt!

Tests are straight from review! easy!!!
i love him. he explains clearly. attend his class and u would find it easy studying the test book. if u never liked sciences after taking his class u would love to do more chemistry. i am look forwrd to meeting him in my che120 class. he is the best.
If you take this class, I recommend going to the reviews before the exam if you dont attend lectures. He does give sample exams which is very similar to the actual exams. He does have an accent but is still understandable. Not a great teacher.
go to class and do the hw's and you will be fine. he repeats a lot fo the time and you only have to know what he teaches and no more. his practice exams are basically the test with just diff examples. he's also a little funny sometimes.
Waste of time. Horrible teacher. Reviews okay, do the homework or you will be lost. Lectures pretty boring. Nice guy, too bad he has an accent. A thick accent! Not a class you can breeze through. Makes mistakes just like students, even with calculator.
He is a wonderful professor!
HORRIBLE. He gives extremely hard tests, quizzes, and workshops. You will never find the type of questions he gives in your book. The book is so easy compared to his tests.
I think he's ok. Really nice, but he would make lots of mistakes (as does everyone). I just don't dig chemistry and sometimes didn't feel that the lecture helped me out. I skipped 75% of the lectures, and passed the class w/ a C just from barely studying the book, so I guess it's pretty easy.
He is a good teacher, he confuses you sometimes but he tries to explain to you so you can understantd. He is funny, he has an accent but it doesnot matter, everybody has an accent, you can understand him and that is what counts. He is really nice, just go to class and read the book and youll be ok
He was an ok professor. He can be a little confusing at times during the lecture. They sell lecture notes definately buy. worth the money. Test were the same as the review sheets.
He was an okay professor and the class not that difficult. I barely attended class and just taught myself thru the texbook--did pretty well too. The tests were ok and attend the workshops. I once missed a workshop and he was nice enough to let me make it up. Not a bad class and not a bad profess
he's very basic he goes by the book if there is soemthing u dont understand he'll go over it exams are just like his practice just read i barely pay attention and i do pretty wel
he reminds me of the "coming to america" movie. as for the class...what class?! make sure to read the textbook, come to every review for the test, and go to all workshops... and bam, there goes ur A.
he is ok. before i took chem 120 wth santoro, i thought Krish...... .... wasnt that kool but after Santoro Krish is definetely the best. i love him. would love to have him again
All you need to do to do well in this class is to read the chapters and do the hw problems he gives you in the syllubus and you get an A. Don't bother listening in the lectures cuz he'll just confuse you. He's nice if u talk to himin person, but he gets annoyed if u ask ques. during lecture.
Does not speak English well and is the stereotype of a forgetful professor. The man wrote Avogado's number incorrectly in lecture notes for crying out loud! He is also rude and unhelpful when asked for help. Just plain bad.
has his own ways oF doing probLems which gets conFusing...Likes to repeat himseLF a Lot nd makes aLot oF LittLe mistakes
If you can get another professor for you chem classes i STRONGLY advise to do so-way too many mistakes & going to class will only confuse you more.
He's a good professor...the ppl who gave him lwo rating didnt put the time and effort into studying to do wel and they're just b****ing because they did bad...haha for them you suck he doesnt
he is a good professor, although he is not that helpful, we you wonna do well, then you gotta study yourself, tests are are not hard, but a lot of students do not do well for some reasons, that's why he gives curves, wich are helpful for those who do badly, but bad for the good students...
To know what is going on you have to read the assigned text. Dont depend on the lecture alone to get you through this course. He does have an accent but it isnt so thick that you can club someone with it. Basically If its possible to transfer, transfer.
hey chem 100 guys! we are having him again!!! good luck everyone!!
Yea... not very good at lecturing. My advice is stay at home read the stuff on your own. Then just go to the class before the test to the review. That's how I did it and it turned out fine.
u have to get use to his accent but once you do, he can be a great teacher. me n my friend especialy likes his examples bc it sounds so off the subject of chem but actually make sense when you apply the same concept.
yes, the accent is quick and he mumbles during lecture, but you gotta go to his office and he will help you out!! he even tutored me for a standardized exam even when i wasn't taking any of his classes anymore, and he gave me recommendation letters. he's great!!!
read the text and the example question, not very helpful, bad accent, repeats himself, harsh grader, no curves...
UGH....the guy cant teach....he repeats himself like 5 million times...i sat in the front and still did poor in his class...
He is the worst possible teacher, okay class was in the audtorium, but he makes so many mistakes it's not even funny. More then half the class fails his exams most ot the time and he is horrible at giving a straight answer. He does know how to sign credit/nocredit forms fairly quick. He is horrible.
he's a really nice professor, i don't know why people give him a hard time. the class is full of people who are not smart enough to be in a chemistry class. just study the lecture notes and his practice exams and you'll get your A.

I had a tutor so I wouldn't have to torture myself again with him. I only showed up for exams. He is confusing and never really explains the answers to the review questions. He has tenure and everybody gets stuck with him. Take Santoro in the fall if you withdraw or fail.
easy. study the practice tests. use the book to answer the practice tests and review and you'll be fine.
The little guy doesnt enjoy repeating himself. He makes computing errors...using a calculator. As for exams study the practice exams he posts on blackboard. Three out of his four exams were curved and he dropped the lowest grade. Good luck. You'll sorta need it.
i'm sure he does have a good knowledge of chemistry, but you'd never know that from taking his classes! HOWEVER, i learned what to do if ever bitten by a scorpion or cobra (i'm not kidding, he made it a point to tell us in class) an overall lowsy professor.

Run if you have him as your professor. He does not know how to teach. If you decide to take his class anyway....PREPARE TO FAIL!!!!!
I cannot stress this enough: If you see this man teaching ur chem class, PLEASE replace ur course. I would rather get bitten by a dog for the same duration of his lectures.. I'd learn more from the dog too. In general its not easy to understand him in a big lec hall w/ his thick accent. students beware!
I got an A however, only God knows how hard I worked. I had to pay a good deal of tutoring fees.
EASY PROFESSOR! At first, it seems hard, but just study the past exams he posts on Blackboard and ur ok. HINT:The study guide looks just like the real exams and the questions are practically the SAME. I DEFINITELY recommend him. Sure, his accent sux,and sometimes what he says can seem irrelevant at the time, but HEY, IT MAKES THE BORING CLASS FUN!
Ok .. so on the subject of this class with him teaching it.. and not how well you do on the class and study .. BECAUSE WE ARE TALKIN ABOUT THE PROFESSOR ... Ill let my rating speak for itself
this professor is unbelievable!! he will tutor you if you need it andall you have to do is knock on his door. he helped out a lot. and all you have to do is study from previous tests. prof krishnamachari rocks!
He is a very helpful Prof. I got a C in the first course and now have a C+ in the second. In this class you need to work hard to earn your grade. He is very knowledgeable but not well at explaining things in class. If you personally go to his office its for the best.
bad accent but a kind of easy for the tests
I wnet ti him w/ a question and he didn't tell me how to do it!I still don't know how to do it. The tests were easy, similar to reviews. But he can't teach, and we had to pay for slides, while other profs post them for free on the blackboard. It's hard to understand him because of his accent. No won't get help from him whatsoever.
This professor should not be teaching. He is rude when you ask a question in class, impatiently cuts you off constantly, and is very hard to understand. Making students pay him in cash for powerpoint slides that could easily go up on blackboard is unethical. If you are prepared to teach yourself this material, you can get an A. Use his sample exams
I had to take a NC in this class. He is hard to understand, and he makes too many mistakes. The only way to pass his classes is to go to his office or teach yourself. Dont take him if you have a job, or if you're the type of student whose grades depend on the type of teacher you have.
If you do the readings and keep up with the class obviously you'll do much better if you dont. The professor is unclear though when he teaches, you can barely understand him. But he's a nice person. He tries to do his best. It all depends on the student. His tests were very similar to the review sheets so thats good. But the rest lies on us student
This is the absolute WORST professor I have ever had. He does not know what he is talking about, he speaks to the board, he tells you things that you don't need to know and confuses you with the way that he solves problems. I have to teach myself, tutor people. It is pointless to go to his class because you are more confused than when you came in.
Prof. Krischnamachari is an extremely kind-hearted person, & willing to help EVERYONE during office hours. If you want to get an A in his class, review all the sample tests over and over again, & MAKE SURE to get some tutoring, it's WORTH IT!Go to a tutor with a sample exam and have him/her explain each example to you in simple terms. GOOD LUCK!
My Namby!!!!! His class is the best. The Accent is so hot!!! I had to do extra credit and stay extra hours just to earn my grade if you know what i mean. I love my namby!! He is the Best!!!! Older foreign men knows how to do EVERYTHING!!!!!
Krischnamachari is the BEST Chem Prof @ Hunter! He's extremely nice, & will answer all your questions during & after class,& during office hours. Make sure to keep reviewing his sample tests & you will do great! If you don't understand something, ask him, or take the test to the Chem dept & a free tutor will help you...WE LOVE KRISCHNAMACHARI!!!:)
This prof has a MAJOR attitude problem. When somebody asked him if he could have some evening office hours since it was an evening class, he said he didn't get paid enough to hold evening office hours! Don't waste your time going to lecture except for the stupid workshops that you have to do. I just studied the textbook and got 100 on the final.
the worst professor i've ever had. he is going deaf and has a thick accent. there is no way to undersatnd him.. oh yeah and he has a bad temper too... so dont ask questions.
Mr. K is not difficult at all!! You have to be willing to do your part. If your interested in chem then it's a cool breeze. He's funny and gets annoyed when you ask questions that are answered through the readings. Just don't think to hard you either know it or you don't. PLEASE READ THE TEXT!!!! it's a sure A
He teaches himself
everyone said he was a horrible professor but he did not turn out to be so bad. His tests are fair but you have to study and come to class. Buy his notes because they are the same as the slides in the lecture and you wont have to write as much. If you study hard, you will do well, and he curves in the end if the class does not do so well.
a terrible professor, unclear, has trouble communicating with students. Run if you still have the chance, you'll thank me later.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH!!
I personally LOVE Professor Krishnamchari! He's a very sweet, easygoing guy, and he will always help you if you ask questions or approach him in his office. Make sure to study and to get some tutoring or join a study group and you're bound to do well. You gotta be real committed and you gotta put your heart and mind to it...I think he's great!
I took him in the spring and he was one of the funniest professors (without meaning to be) I've had. He gets confused sometimes and repeats himself 3 times. He puts up all the notes onto blackboard, so you don't have to take any. If you study those, read the text book and sort of listen in lecture you'll get an A. Nice and easy.
Explains things over again. Reviews materials before the test.
THIS PROFESSOR IS NOT VERY GOOD! HE TALKS TO THE BOARD AND YOU CAN BARELY HEAR HIM MOST OF THE TIME. HE DOES GIVE THE SAMPLE TEST, WHICH HELPS SOMEWHAT IF YOU UNDERSTAND THE TOPICS. BUT IF YOU DON'T GET THE TOPICS, THERE IS NO HELP FOR YOU. I DON'T FIND HIM OR THE SLIDES HELPFUL AT ALL.
He does not explain very well. sometimes it makes me confused.. But!!! The exam is soooooo easy.. If you come to class and understand topics it will be no problem!!
i love prof krishnamachari...he is hilarious...if you go to class, pay attention, and ask questions you can do well...trust me i sucked at chem in HS but i got an A in chem 100 and 120. he does have autistic moments but those are quite amusing
he is an ok Professor. His style of teaching can be improved. He tend to go through the chapters very quickly and because of accent its difficult to comprehend the majority of the things he is saying. i mean everyone is different. i personally thought i could have done better if he took his time and spoke more clearly!
This class is very easy if you are willing to make an effort. I mean come on open book exams and curves. The only way you can do bad i guess is if you never come to class and just come on test days. I know my hard work paid of i actually got my A.
open book+ test review = easy A do the hw (don't just copy answers, make sure u kno it) pay attention and take notes. he has his own easy ways to ans problems, but if u don't get them, use the book's. you have to know how to navigate the text when ur taking the test so u don't waste time looking through it, how? try opening it before the test ;)
Good professor..sometimes wanders off topic. Read the textbook and go over his past exams. They are almost the same. He is funny, sometimes not on purpose, just how he phrases things.
Easy tests, just come to class and pay attention on everything he said, u'll doing fine in this class.
Not helpful at all.
please avoid 120 w/ this prof if possible. he talks without taking a breath and at a very fast pace but doesn't explain anything. tells you lots of things you don't need to know. makes quite a few errors, also. exams aren't too difficult - just study the sample exams.
Very unclear.Attendance of the class diminishes every week. Study his slides, and sample tests. Class average is usually a 40. He does drop the lowest grade. This will not be your easiest class.
i got a B- for the class
WORST professor I have ever had. If you have him, drop the class while you still can.
Not good. He doesn't have patience for his students and he isn't very clear.
go to the class and write note. after the class, read book and understand slides and study sample test. u will get A easily.(Most people don't come to the class. I'm sure they miss important concepst!)
HE DEF KNOWS HIS CHEMISTRY. GOING TO CLASS IS DEF A PLUS. STUDY FROM HIS SLIDES AND READ THE BOOK FOR FURTHUR EXPLANATION. HES NOT SO BAD AT ALL ! YOU JUST GOTTA BE WILLING TO DO THE WORK AND PAY ATTENTION
you cannot understand his english for the first couple of weeks but u get used to it. you csn get an A as long as you do the homeworks and sample test.
I can say based on experience that, comparatively, this teacher is pretty good. He knows exactly what you need to know and he is very organized in his lectures. I had another teacher for this same course last semester but had to drop due to problems not related to school. Now THAT teacher was terrible.
incomprehensible in every way. just runs through material and does not explain anything. be prepared to learn it all on your own...
He is the worst professor i have ever had in my life. He mumbles when lecturing, gives tests on things that have not been lectured on or are 10 times more advanced than his lecture materials. I basically taught myself organic chemistry. Going to office hours was not useful. Avoid this professor at all costs. Orgo is hard enough w/o him teaching

Organic Chemistry is a hard course but he makes it worst. If you really want to understand his lecture then you will only put yourself into a deadroad. avoid him if possible.
Organic Chemistry is a hard course but he makes it worst. If you really want to understand his lecture then you will only put yourself into a deadroad. avoid him if possible.
go to tutoring, then go to review his slides and the textbook. He teaches you the basic concepts of the topics but his examples are from the book which are useless when it comes to the exams because the difficulty of his questions would be medium, the sample exams are easy, his examples are easy
he is just bad.. and what's up with a lot of ppl showing for final??? you all messed up the grade for ppl like me!!! you smarties!!
Mean professor, nice one-on-one, tho. Hard to understand and will sometimes snap at/act rudely to students who ask questions. Textbook is even useless! But tests are ok, since the content is very similar to his review sheet and most are based on his slides. Study the slides and the review sheet and hopefully, you'll be fine.
Horrible professor. He speaks as if we should already understand everything he talks about, and when you ask him a question, he snaps at you, or is rude. I am doing poorly because of his inability to teach, and it is the first class in Hunter that I am very unsure of.
If you don't understand basic chemistry, don't bother with this class. He's a great professor. He's just in a hurry to cover all the topics in class but afterward you can ask a question and he's very helpful. Easy class.
It is difficult to understand what he say. Text book is useless, but the exam is ok. Class is boring. bad teacher.
It is so hard to comprehend him. He talks like he just came to america. VERY RUDE and in too much of a hurry when he teaches. Even worst than bastos. His exams are fair tho but you have to read the book yourself instead of going to the lecture and listen to him.
It is very difficult to understand him and most likely you will end up learning from textbook. You should have previous experience with chemistry if you want to know what is going on.
he needs to learn to lisen to people and to be patience. when someone asks a question he interupts them and starts saying something u didn't ask about. his lectures are undrstandable only if u have some knowledge of chemistry. his tests are fine. it u mail qts abt HW,he will help u out though. take only if u don't depend on professors lecture.
.....the reason i made this account was because of him!! i mean he's not a mean person in general but his teachings is ridiculous. Most of my class which was about 300 ppl. didn't know what he was saying and failed most of the test. If ur a genious then this class is for u. for the rest of us normal ppl. aviod this clas at all cost!!
I dont know why people before me rate him so low! He goes through lectures quick and he is mean while answering questions, but thats not a problem! its funny! if you come to his class and you take notes, you will get an A or a B. I usually quoted him while he was talking. Its useful information. If you are lazy, dont take this class.
people complain so much. first of all, stop judging this man by his accent. 2nd, if you ACTUALLY take time out and read his slides, you'll be fine. anyways, he curves ALOT. you don't even have to read the textbook. he can be rude. but welcome to the real world. no one has to be nice to you here or baby you.
worst professor ever!!! he is so random, and confusing. he thinks just because he understands the material we should automatically know what he is talking about. and god forbid if you ask him a question he will flip out on you and tell you to find your answer in the textbook. thats how helpful he is.
Get a tutor...ASAP.
AVOID AT ALL COST!! I'm gonna have to retake this class in the summer. He is such a bad professor.
It's hard to understand what he is saying, so it's pointless to come to his lectures. As long as you read and understand the book the class is not going to be horrible. He curves his tests by a lot of points, since everybody usually fails them.
He is really RUDE and mean for noo reason. Cannot teach for life. You have to study the textbook on your own.
Actually, even thought he is not a good professor, his class is not that hard if you come the review class. Also you don't need to buy a textbook for his class, all you need to do is just study those slides he posted, then you will be fine in this class. Coming to his class, you will learn more.
He has a DEEP accent and is incomprehensible. READ your text book and be prepared to teach yourself! He posts slides on blackboard, write your notes on them. He does, however, curve the grades.
If you can learn by yourself by reading the book, then you won't have a problem with this class. It is pointless to go to his class since is very difficult to understand him.
Never before have I studied so much and learned so little. There is no point in going to class except for the review days. Teach yourself, and do the best you can. He will only confuse you. He curves the grades, but you'll be so annoyed you won't care.
horrible horrible horrible professor... i dont know why hunter college hired this guy its ridiculous, you can not put such terrible professor to teach a 300 student lecture class....
DEEEEEEEEEEEP accent, runs through the slides that make no sense. does not teach at all from the textbook...tests are only 20 questions!! meaning you get 4 wrong its a fail. he does curve, but what does it matter when everyone gets like a 20% ?!...HARDDDDD subject && bad teacher. def. avoid if you can!!!!
His lectures are useless. The worst professor I have ever had
Professor has a thick accent which no doubt makes it hard for students to understand him. He's also rude to students who asks him questions and is not helpful at all. He's constantly crossing out stuff he writes on the overhead. He also makes mistakes and goes "Oops, my bad." a lot. You'll have to learn from the book but attend lectures also.
For anyone who is taking this class in the future and has come on this site to look up this professor, I am telling you right now, every comment on here is 100 percent true. He has a VERY strong accent, actually gets angry when people try to ask questions and his tests are only 20 questions. Why is he the only Orgo professor?! Common Hunter!
The only reason I'm getting an A is because I study every word from the book. The only positive thing I can say is that he curves his test and has a practice exam to help with studying. As with all the other reviews, they are true. He is not helpful & has even yelled at students. Just study from the book & do extra homework, you'll be fine.
Every comment that has been said before this one is very true. Going to his class is a lost cause for he doesnt teach; he just simply explains his slides (which are confusing in themselves) and if you have the courage to ask him anything, he yells at you for not understanding something so "easy". Stay home and read the textbook.
2 words... TEACH YOURSELF. everyone else is right. This man should retire, unfortunatly he isn't so be prepared to teach yourself the textbook. Going to lecture is not even helpful. He does curve and gives a review sheet. But, you are on your own.
All I have to say is that if you're a chem major, nutrition, nursing, or any of the sciences that requires organic chemistry, you're SOL. hes the only professor who teachers organic chem. you MUST teach everything to yourself. he does nothing. if you ask a question he will blow you off. spend extra time making notes from the book and bring 2 class.
If you study your book, you'll get A!!!
if you read the book, you will get an A!
he is ok, just read the book, you will do fine.
terrible. terrible. terrible
There needs to be a new adjective created to describe how awful he is. Rude, angry, thick accent makes him impossible to understand. Pathetic. Hunter College should be ashamed.
wow! What to say about this professor? Chemistry has NEVER been easy for me...but THIS professor doesn't make it ANY better. No one understands what he says but himself. He mentions God & the Devil and Sins like this is a religious class. When you ask him questions he yells at you and tells you to stop wasting his time...He is horrible!
uh.. so far i went to his office hours and he got mad at me that i didn't understand and he told me to get out... thats great isnt it?
Horrible professor, useless and worthless. Thick accent makes his lectures useless. Gets upset when students ask questions. Makes various mistakes as he's showing examples, even on exams mistakes are made.
He makes me so angry that I stopped going to class and now am just teaching myself from the book. He is condescending and rude to students who ask questions and he rushes through material. He does not follow the syllabus, and the homework that is assigned does not correspond to the current lectures. Hunter should get rid of him.
you might as well teach yourself. thats wat im doing. he is useless no one even bothers going to class. this class is just a waste of my money because i dont go to class i read my book. hunter should get rid of him asap! he is super rude btw!!
This guy is the most useless teacher I have ever had, and I went to public school for 12 years. He is awful in every aspect, you cannot understand anything he says, and to top that off his voice is so monotone it makes it impossible to stay awake. You are better off teaching yourself, this is what I am doing and I am barely getting by.
do i need to say more?
DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN'S COURSE. I am not even sure if he knows what he's talking about up on that stage. There are too many students for such a hard course and his thick accent does not help much. He is very rude and he often makes mistakes when explaining things to students, which confuses people even more. Currently teaching myself.
Difficult to understand. Will definitely need to teach yourself the lessons (using the textbook) before attending the class.
He is the worst professor I've ever had. He teaches very fast and his english is not understandable. He's rude and his test are very tricky.
If you wish to pass his class get a tutor and teach yourself. Going to class is useless. You won't understand what he says. He is the worst professor. A real waste of money.
THE WORST. HE IS NOT CLEAR, VERY RUDE TO STUDENTS, HAS PROBLEMS IN TEST THAT WERE NOT IN THE REVIEW. ATTENDANCE IS NOT MANDATORY BECAUSE U CANT UNDERSTAND HIM! HE NEEDS TO GET FIRED. ITS NOT FAIR TO PAY TO TEACH URSELF!
just awful. That is why no one wants to go to his class.. I came in 5 times during the whole semester, 3 of which were for tests, and he was just the rudest most incomprehensible professor of all time.
everyone else has said it all. study the powerpoint notes he posts on blackboard. and of course read the textbook first. this stuff is not logic, it's a lot of facts. either you know an equation or you don't so do read the textbook.
What a waste...rude and worst of all, totally uninspired teaching. I have to agree, teach yourself.
What a dissapointment. A terrible experience.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! There's no point of coming to class at all since you won't understand what he's saying. What a shame.
This Professor is really rude to students when we ask questions. His accent is unbearable and when students ask questions he would say that we are interfering with other students who understand him. OVERALL HORRIBLE!!!
The class is easy, but be prepared to teach yourself. He provides power points and exam reviews for each test, but don't wait for him to be able to explain any of it. During reviews he would get EVERY question wrong himself and not be able to give the correct answer. Show up for exams don't bother with the lecture. He also is quite rude to student.
This guy is the biggest egotistical jerk ever! He does not teach anything. He is wrong most of the time and constantly has errors on tests. His accent is terrible and he yells at everyone. He doesn't answer any questions and if you are wrong expect to get a scolding. He is horrible DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!
This teacher is so horrible. He words his questions on the test that are not understandable so you get them wrong. Hunter should be disgraced
I WARN YOU! DO NOT, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! totally not understandable and very VERY rude!
Not only does he not have the abilty to teach. You can't understand what hes talking about. But he is so rude and he doesn't want to help you. I went for help at his office hours and he got mad and told me to get out! Hunter college should be ashamed but they don't do anything about it.
Too rude. Will not repeat his statement for clarity. Never uses a text book. Jumps around from topic to topic and never really completes any.
There's nothing that I can say that has not already been said already about this professor. Possibly the worst professor I've ever had. He is rude and gets upset when students asks questions. If this class is not mandatory for you AVOID it at all costs because you will end up teaching yourself.
He is by far the worst professor I've ever had. He's rude and abusive to students. He actually yelled at someone, "Do you speak English?" when she asked a question. He doesn't bother to change his slides from year to year, so he's constantly telling us to just "change that" or "this is wrong" or "this is now chapter 12 instead of chapter 11."
DONT GO TO LECTURE, STUDY BY YOURSELF AND YOU WILL DO FINE :D
although he can't teach, he is really lenient with the curving!
he can't teach. he's the worst Professor CUNY have==!
What? I love Namby. Yes he has an accent and yes he makes mistakes but nobody is perfect. Yes his test are hard but whoever said he's a bad professor is just lazy.
Outrageously bad professor. Can't teach worth a damn. He curves high-ish because the majority of the class is barely passing. Saying he is good is like ignoring the huge elephant in the room, namely his poor communication skills, arrogant attitude and his own ineptitude.
Theres no way of avoiding this teacher if you're going for nursing. Study from the textbook and his blackboard slides. Do not underestimate this course. Either get a tutor or start teaching yourself because you'll need to do one of them in order to pass. Good luck to all those taking his course!
How is it that he is the only person that CUNY can find to teach orgo? This is one of the harder courses out there. They say if you get an A in orgo, it's an automatic ticket to med school. Take initiative and study hard!
One if the worst professors I've ever encountered in both of my college careers. He is mean and rude to students, he's unorganized, and he shows no passion for the subject whatsoever. His exams can be easy or extremely difficult depending on which version you get. You do not really need to go to his lecture to survive, slides and book suffice.
This is Hunter's biggest travesty. Maybe even CUNY's biggest travesty. Take this class ANYWHERE other than at Hunter. This is the WORST professor. Not an understatement. Unbelievable.
he is NOT bad. he just has an accent, but you can read your book to clarify what you do not understand. im a foreign student and i did well in his class. those people who complain too much are very lazy!
He can be difficult to listen to because he has no consideration for the students. As long as you are able to understand the slides and somewhat of the textbook you'll do fine. Make sure to go over past tests because he sometimes reuses questions. Use School TUtoring!! it helps ALOT
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! i hated him with a passion, he lowered my grade bc i complained & asked him to explain why i got a C. you will not understand ANYTHING he says, waste of time to go to his place. DO NOT TAKE !!
Avoid taking his class/es. If you do end up having to take his class, good luck! Study hard. His accent is hard to understand, he gets impatient when students ask questions in his lecture, you're pretty much on your own. I suggest forming study groups. If you can get on his good-side, do it.
This man is a waste of space. His accent is unintelligible, he often talks with his back to the auditorium and speaks so fast you have no idea what just happened to you. He is rude, and gets irritated if you ask a question. Teaching yourself and getting a tutor is the ONLY way to get through. He does use a rather liberal curve on grading. He has to
Worst professor ever and i can not believe he is the only professor that teaches oraganic chemistry. His accent is so hard to understand & he sometimes likes to go off topic. He gets mad easily if we ask questions or ask him for help. In order words, he does not care about his students.
where do i begin??? you will not understand A WORD from this man. when you raise your hand, he WILL ask why you're interrupting his class and to go to tutoring. you will NEVER find him at his office hours. he is the worst prof i have ever encountered and lost my interest in chem all together. do NOT take chem120 in hunter, run far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!I'd rather clean the walls of a jail cell than have him again.
OMG THE WORST PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE AND THE WORST THAT COULD EVER EXIST!!!! YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND A WORD HE SAYS, HE DOESN'T CARE WHETHER YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING OR YOU DONT, I'M JUST TOO DISGUSTED RIGHT NOW TO SAY MORE. DON'T TAKE CHEM120 AT HUNTER. IF YOU REALLY HAVE TO, GO TO TUTORING FROM DAY ONE.
He makes me want to switch my major. He is beyond horrible....I struggle in chemistry and i really try hard but he is really discouraging. Not to mention that he can;t speak english. He is the only organic chem professor unfortunately. good luck....go to tutoring from day 1 or you will not do well
Need i say anything it would just be redundant,....just look at how many pages this professor has been rated. If you have to take this class e permit and pay the extra money to take it at another school. You'll be glad you did.
This man sucks. I read ALL his reviews before taking his class thinking I could pull it through. WRONG! I never dropped out and neither received a C in any of my exams. My admission to the Nursing Program was flushed down the toilet. He is horrible to understand, does not engage with the students, AND makes a lot of mistakes. AVOID HIM!
He is horrible. doesnt teach. class average was a 55 for all 4 exams. He doesnt care. If u wanna get into nursing program, RUN to another college(epermit!) But one nice thing is he makes jokes :)
One word: AVOID!
OMG.THIS PROFESSOR MAKES ME WANT TO CRY.I LEGIT WANT TO BRAKE OUT INTO TEARS WHILE WRITING THIS.HE IS SO COLD AND COMPLETELY LACKS COMPASSION FOR STUDENTS.I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN BE LIKE THAT.I PUT MY ENTIRE SOCIAL LIFE INTO THAT CLASS AND STUDIED SO HARD FOR THE FINAL JUST SO I CLD MANAGE A B- BUT THAT DINT HAPPEN. AVOID HIM.SO SAD FOR HC
HUNTER COLLEGE PLEASE GET RID OF HIM.WHY DO THEY HAVE HIM.THERE R PROFESSORS THAT ARE CHALLENGING AND THERE R SOME THAT JUST WANT STUDENTS TO FAIL..HE WANTS STUDENTS TO FAIL.MOST OF ALL THE MOST UNFAIR THING HE DOES..HE CURVES.BUT ITS A DIFFERENT CURVE FOR EVERYSTUDENT..WHO DOES THAT.HE IS THE WORSE PROFESSOR AND IM SURE KARMA WILL COME BACK TO HIM
he is not THAT BAD, his curves are pretty high, the lower your actual score is the higher the curve. other than his super high curves, you might as well study on your own or hope you pick the correct answer on the test :)
use old exams! he repeats questions a LOT.
Use the lecture notes and do the HW; read the book if you don't understand the concept. Gives good practice exams - use them! Tests can be hard, but he curves. It's fair. Give him a chance, he's pretty funny. Can sometimes be a bit rough if he get's annoyed. Not as bad as everyone says!
He's hard to understand at first but funny. Tough to follow but curves graciously. A few curve balls on exams but you either know the material or you don't. Get a tutor and attend every lecture. It was hard work but I got an A-.
Easy A, and I didnt even buy a textbook.
The absolute worst professor i've had at hunter. He is rude and can't teach. This is my second time taking this class, because he is the only teacher teaching it and i failed the first.Every comment here is true. Does Hunter not read these reviews or get not even one complaint about this guy? I had a 3.5gpa nd now it is below a 3 because of thisguy
avoid. hes one of the worst professors ive ever encountered. stay away and take orgo at another school
Just finished taking the class. Everyone's comments made me nervous about this class but I got an A+ and only took 3 out of the 4 exams so it can be done. STUDY THE TEXTBOOK! and find previous tests!! by doing these two things you dont even need to come to class. I didnt =)
He is an amazing teacher. he is funny and intelligent. Many people had laughs with him, he is most certainly easy going. The way he talks can be a little mean, but he doesn't mean it to offend anyone. In fact, people in that class thought it was funny. Even though he is a moderate grader-I got a A- in that class. I recommend him as a professor.
Despite what everyone says, he's a great professor. This is my first year at hunter and I was terrified when I read the reviews for him. NOTE: don't believe everything you see or hear! He's great and goes over whatever majority asks. If you missed a homework, he lets you do extra credit that really helps! I highly recommend!
just go to his office hours and ask him questions HE IS SUPER NICE IN PERSON!!! his class is kind of hard but just do your online hw and you should get a good grade. If you study& do practice exams you should do fine. he is not as bad as some of the other ratings have said.I feel like the other people havent studied.
He is a decent teacher. His accent is hard to understand, especially over the mic however his exams are simple, especially since they are consistent with his past exams. He sometimes gets off topic but for the most part the work is easy to understand. You don't really need to attend class
He has an accent but not horrible. Its a big lecture hall so there's only so much he can do. However, if you need extra help he is always there to explain. He's not a bad professor.
no comment. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Try your best to avoid this teacher. He doesn't explain anything clearly and he has an accent which is hard to understand at first. I'm sure I'm gonna have to repeat this class because of this "genius". Get a tutor, buy the textbook, watch youtube videos because you will essentially be teaching yourself.
I kid you not when I tell you I didn't learn a single thing from this man. The only thing that saved me was Youtube videos, my High School notes, and the internet. Honestly, he doesn't teach at all. But you can do really well on his tests IF YOU DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. I swear all he does is change the numbers and the order.
His class is relatively easy, but do not underestimate the class and make sure you have every little detail from his lectures.
Truth is he has an accent. He isnt the clearest teacher when it comes to teaching BUT he definitely teaches perfectly fine. Otherwise he wouldnt be teaching for so long. It annoys me how many people hate on him when theyre sitting behind me calculating the grade they need to pass the class. Come to class, read the book. Hes actually funny at times.
Difficult to understand, the due dates for the homeworks are random (2pm or 11:30 or sometimes 11) Really annoying class.
Everyone complains because theyre not willing to do work for their grade. Truth is he gives you extra credit, his exams are easy, he has sample exams and he will sincerely try to answer your questions. What more can you ask from a teacher of over 500 students? This is a good teacher and I actually learned everything i needed to in this class.
HONESTLY, IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND HIM BUT HE TRIED TO HELP WITH GRADING W/ EXTRA CREDIT. PLUS THE SAMPLE EXAMS REALLY HELP FOR THE TESTS. THE LECTURES ARE PRETTY POINTLESS BUT THE HOMEWORK IS REALLY GOOD PRACTICE. USE THE TEXTBOOK FOR HELP. IF YOU KNOW THE HOMEWORK WELL THEN YOU SHOULD DO WELL ON THE TEST. IF ANYTHING HE IS AVAILABLE FOR HELP
Paying attention in class will make you more confuse. I learned nothing from him. He makes a lot of mistakes and his PPT have a lot of errors. I self taught myself this class by reading the book, doing HW, watching CHEM videos, and going to CHEM tutoring. I only went to class because of Iclickers points. IT'S A LIE THAT HE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT!!!!!!!
He's not very engaging with students and he doesn't like it when people ask questions. If you are lucky enough, you might learn a thing or two from his lectures however make sure you read the textbook or do the online hw to do good on the exams.
Go to class there are iClicker questions that make up a portion of your grade. Don't waste money on a textbook I only read 2 chapters. Tbh Saplinglearning is your best friend for this course and google. His exams are relatively easy and they're almost identical to his review sheets. What more can you ask? Do the work and you'll get a good grade
His lectures can be helpful if you sit in front and pre-read what the lecture is on at home in order to build upon what you have read. His sample test are very helpful and the sapling homework isn't bad at all
Namby went over chemistry that I learned from high school. His class was a refresher, the tests are okay (scan tron). His office hours are usually an hour and we use iclickers in class.
To be fair to the professor, he is passionate about the subject matter. However, if you have not taken a Chemistry course in a #ofyrs, this is not the person for you. His accent is extremely thick and it hard to understand him. He lectures quickly &is not clear in his explanations, the course is taught as if you already know and understand Chem.
He gets confused in the middle of the lecture and makes at least 3 mistakes while solving problems during class. I had to read the textbook every day to get an A. He does not teach and is not helpful at all. The only reason why I went to class was for the clicker questions.
I walked into class, he was already frustrated with many students. He is unclear and doesn't really understand what he is teaching. Most of the time, I only have the lab book to guide me in my experiments. Whenever he mis-grades a paper, he will make it the STUDENTS FAULT. And he will take off points just because you asked him to regrade.
very difficult professor, he yells at everyone in the lab class. had him last semester, but i still cannot understand him this semeseter
First of all he is impossible to understand with his accent. If you happen to understand what he is saying great, but most of what I learned is due to reading the lectures constantly and the textbook.
I usually don't leave ratings for professors, but please do yourself a favor and avoid him at all cost. considering you are a CUNY student, you probably don't have a choice. i couldn't learn through his thick accent. 100% was learned via osmosis, youtube and textbook reading. I spent hours each day reading. his exam are extremely hard too. GL!
