This class is very informative and easy to learn in. If you take notes on the lectures the class isn't very hard to get through. You will have to study for the test though.

She is a awesome teacher. I wanted to go to class everyday because she makes it very interesting. The rest of my class usually did not want to take breaks because she keep your interest. Test are not hard, but you do have to study your notes and some from the book. So if you miss class get notes from someone that takes GOOD notes.

I really enjoyed this professor. I thought I was going to hate History, but she has made it much more interesting for me! You will have to come to every class and take notes! But if you do the work and study you should do fine! I thought she was a great prof., my fav. this semester!

Dr. Baker is an excellent professor who obviously enjoys teaching and truly cares about her students. She's very helpful and if you have any problems, she'll work with you. Exams aren't difficult if you read the material and take notes. No trick questions, she just wants you to learn. Makes class interesting. Love her -wish she taught more.

Professor Baker is a really good teacher - one of the best on campus. She makes the material interesting and gets the class involved in discussions. She gives a study guide for the exam so if you come to class, take notes, and read the book, you'll do well. Plus, she's really nice and will explain anything or help with anything.

easy class but she is strict on attendance. makes an hour ad twenty minute class exactly that so dont make any other plans. i never studied and tests were easy. have to write one paper. just stay on her good side

She is brings history to life. History is not my favorite, but I enjoyed taking history this semester. Come to class, take notes and do the review and you will do fine on the test.

This teacher was great. Her number one goal is to make sure that all of her students understand the material being presented to them. If you take notes, you can easily get a 100% in this class. But, you must attend class to get all of the information that she covers in lectures. Take her! Highly recommended.

This IS the best history professor at Sam No Lie Her class is easy and interesting and there's a lot of extra credit points to get..I actually learned a lot in her class and she doesn't give homework but you have to come to class and take notes for the test..I didn't use the book which is the only reason I made a B in class but notes are very helpf

If you want an A take her class. She gives lots of xtra credit (I made a 109 in her class). She gives study guides for the test. GREAT story teller, makes the class fun...

Best Teacher Everr!! I loved Dr. Baker's Class! She gives LOTS of extra credit opportunity! Her lectures are straight forward and she talks about everthing that will be on the test, that's why you should make sure you attend class! Her study guides are just like the test, if you study those you can def make an A! TAKE HER!!

Ms. Baker is a great professor! She takes notes on the board, explains very well, and gives lots of extra credit opportunities. The study guides are not tricky and whatever's in on the guide, will be on the test. Her tests are also straight out of the lectures, I didn't use my book much. :( Anyway, I'd recommend her to anyone. Easy A!

Awesome teacher!! Honestly, the best professor I have come across at this school. She enjoys her job and you can tell. History was never a "interesting" subject for me until I took her class, she makes it interesting. I have never had a hard time paying attention in her class. Very funny sense of humor and as sweet as can be, ALWAYS wants to help.

Excellent professor, she loves what she teaches and she will teach you something even if your not interested, coming to class is not mandatory but if you do and take notes you will get an easy A, does give extra credit and adds it to a test, you will get to drop a test also, simple class for the ones who want an easy class.

I love Ms. Baker! She is super easy! Just go to class and take notes. test are exactly from the notes. shes very nice and helpful and drops the lowest grade. I got a 58 on the first test and passed with a 93!

BEST CLASS! LOVED this teacher. Study guides are just like the test! Tons of extra credit options! Really easy. I skimmed the book just to answer questions on the study guide. She is organized and helps you as much as she can. Notes are on point and everything discussed in class is on the test. Take all the notes and do study guides to pass.

Baker is a very wise doctor. If you take her she isn't dull but does grade harshly. Don't let that scare you however! I took her for American Women History and had a blast. It was a lot harder though being in the summer and only having a month. I recommend you take her in a normal full term.

Go to class, listen, take notes and do her study guides and you'll make a good grade! I'm not a fan of history but I loved her class. I would take her again if I had the chance! She gives a lot of extra credit and drops your lowest test grade. If you have the chance to take her, DO IT!

Her review is just like her tests, and she always asks for feedback on how to make her reviews better. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I recommend showing up because it is easier to learn the stuff from her lectures than to read the long chapters of the book. If you show up to class and do the review from your notes, you will make an A.

Professor Baker is one of the nicest and EASIEST professors at SHSU. I would advise any freshman or anyone who is terrible at history to take her. She's amazing and wants you to pass!

BEST history teacher. Her lectures are amazing and she gives very accurate study guides and tons of extra credit opportunities. I didn't get an A, but that was on my part since I didn't study hard enough for one of the exams. The book is SUPER helpful to scan through and highlight, it has all the study guide answers in a way that is asked in exams.

Dr. Nancy Baker is not only lovely, but shes an awesome professor, too. Her classes are fun and engaging, her tests are not that difficult. She gives plenty of extra credits that if you attend them, making an A wouldnt be that difficult. If I was to take another Hist class, I'd take her, for sure!

Dr. Baker is very easy-going, understanding professor. Only 1 paper; few pages min. Four tests, including the final and submits a review for student use; multiple choice tests. Her class was very easy. She gives study guides of exactly what is going to be on the test. So whether you come to class or not if you do the study guide by using the book or your notes then you will pass with an A. She is easy going as long as you are respectful in lecture. So Take Her!

Good class! Her lectures are interesting and informative, and the textbook is free and online. Tests are not too difficult. She gives out a study guide that mirrors the test, so if you go to class and take notes you will pass. If you miss class, the information is also in the textbook, so be prepared to read for some of it. Solid class.

Dr. Baker is by far the best professor/teacher I have EVER had. She uses a free online textbook, makes reviews that are almost exactly like the exams and gives out several extra credit opportunities. She genuinely cares about the course but her students and their feedback. If you have to take Hist1302 TAKE HER! You wont regret it at all.

Nancy Baker is the greatest woman and educator on SHSU's campus. I have never met a more caring, educated, respected and kind woman or professor during my time here at SHSU. Her reviews are exactly like her tests and her notes are just like her reviews. Very interesting lectures and she is very kind about making sure you understand the material.

This course was so awesome and easy. The class consists of 4 exams, 1 paper, and a syllabus quiz. Her study guides are very detailed and comes from her notes and the online textbook. The online textbook is free. Overall Professor Baker was so sweet and her lectures were very interesting. She doesn't usually post her notes online so go to class.

She does take attendance, but she posts all the notes online, you only have 3 test and a final. She gives reviews a week before the test, and the reviews really goes with the tests. Gives extra credit opportunities. She really nice and her class isnt boring.

She has really good lectures and is a great professor for this course but the only thing I didn't like was the fact that she would make us talk for 5-10 minutes with someone sitting near us. During this, she'll walk around and if you're not talking shell approach you. Seating chart in every class and TA takes attendance. Also dont talk in her class

Baker is a good professor. She takes attendance but you're allowed to miss three classes without dropping a letter grade. She gives lots of extra credit opportunity. Test are not bad but you need to study. Would recommend!

Professor Baker was a wonderful professor with amazing lectures (coming from someone who is not a fan of history). She was extremely caring and helpful throughout the semester. The assignments included a quiz and essay early in the semester, along with 3 tests + a final (the lowest score was dropped), with a plethora of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Baker is a good prof. She explains the material well and her test reviews are self explanatory. Some of the things on the tests are only found in the book, but the book is online and free. She gives good feedback and really wants you to succeed.

As long as u attend the lectures you will get an A because she explains everything during the lectures and the same will be on the test. She cares a lot. Easy A.

In short, Professor Baker has been such a joy to have as a professor. She is genuinely kind and makes things easy for her students. Her lectures are easy to follow AND she uses an online textbook that is free to her students. I'm currently taking her over Zoom due to COVID and I've had no issues following her instructions. I recommend her 100%.

Dr. Baker's HIST1302 is a well organized and presented class. She provides guidance through study guides in advance of exams, and the exams are based directly on the material from those guides. She also uses a free online textbook that is easy to follow and references as needed during study. This is a very manageable/ low time-demand class.

Professor Baker is super great! Weekly checkpoint quizzes, 5 questions w/ multiple trials. Exams are proctored. Textbook does help with this course! 2 Self-assessments, composition of your progress in the class! 10/10 would recommend!

The tests are exactly like the quizzes so if you get good grades on the quizzes the exams should be a breeze. She offers multiple extra credit options and exams have 2 attempts. I 100% recommend Dr. Baker.

1 quiz every week and 4 test that are 25 questions you can choose to take the multiple choice or do a essay. She teaches by powerpoint, you can read them on your own or go to class. She was amazing and very understandable.

Dr. Baker made everything accessible outside of class so if you were unable to attend that was ok, however she gives AMAZING lectures. There is no extra credit until the end of the semester but the coursework is easy to the point if you try and pay attention you shouldnt need it. If you have the chance to take Dr. Baker do it.

Dr. Baker was amazing! Unlimited attempts on all quizzes (15 total) and you get 2 attempts for all the test (4 test). Overall, the class is really easy and interesting just take good notes. For test she uses lockdown browser but no webcam. You should definitely take her.

Dr. Baker was a great professor! She doesn't just read off the slide she goes into detail about every subject. All the test and quizzes are online and as long as you take notes you should pass. The Textbook readings are not required they are just there as an extra source to help you understand the information that she discussed in class.

Amazing lectures! Really passionate about the class. If you pay attention in class, the test should be easy. I rarely had to read the online book. Dr. Baker covers about 95% of the topics in here lectures. The other 5% was documents I had to analyze. Highly recommend!

One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. I took this class online. There are weekly quizzes with unlimited attempts so you can redo the quiz until you get 100, there's also only 5 questions per quiz. There are four exams which are also multiple choices. Didn't need to do much in this class. I would absolutely take her classes again.

History 1302 was a breeze with Professor Baker. You can expect all course work and deadlines to reflect the syllabus. One chapter and one lecture a week with quizzes that correspond. She provides great study guides that you can complete yourself that make prepping for the exams painless.

Took her 5 wk summer course, she was awesome! Despite the heavy work load of 4 units per wk, her lectures were very helpful. Fill out the study guides along with the lectures and you'll pass all the tests. Quizzes are only 5 questions, tests are 25. She is easy to contact and will help you out! All of her teaching was just lectures and the lecture videos. You have little assignments and the test, and that's it. You don't need to attend every class, since the slides are posted, but she does have participation writing moments. Very easy class to take.

Love her! There are weekly quizzes (5 questions) and it is online. Even the exams (25 questions) are online. You also have to write two self-evaluation, which are super easy. She makes the lecture fun and gives A LOT of extra credit.

Class is extremely easy and the lectures are completely optional and able to be accessed online if needed. The only work you will get is a weekly 5 question quiz, the 4 exams which use the same questions as the previous quizzes, and 2 self assessments that are impossible to fail unless you use Ai. Really great class that improved my year.

Dr Baker class will not be a class you have to worry about. Her lectures clear and to the point. I found it very easy to take notes. There is not much homework besides a weekly checkpoint quiz and test which are both open notes. Make sure you do go to class because she does take attendance through exit and entrance tickets from time to time.

She doesn't give hw, weekly checkpoints w unlimited tries, gives 2 tries on exams or you can write an essay. Lectures in class are fine but overall VERY easy class and she is super sweet. very hard to get a B in her class honestly

Dr. Baker was by far one of the best professors I have had. She would have easy weekly quizzes and 4 test for the semester. She gives a ton of extra credit opportunities through out the entire semester. She is lecture heavy however she makes the lectures amusing and very easy to follow.

Definitely recommend! She is very nice and you can tell she really loves what she does. You will hear from perspectives you've never heard from before. Extra credit available on exams if you go to study sessions. Tests and assignments were not hard, just pay attention.

The videos tend to be on the longer side, normally an hour or more long, so make sure you plan according. Exams are easy too, lockdown browser. Take her! She's the best professor ever and her lectures are so engaging. She is a bit lecture heavy, but she makes them interesting (she also uploads them on blackboard if you miss a class). I would recommend doing her essay option over the multiple choice; the essay gives you time to brainstorm.
