Great teacher--tough, but fair. Makes topics interesting.

Take good really detailed notes and study and you'll do fine. She made the class interesting. I recommended this class.

Very intelligent woman, but VERY difficult tests. She's really nice to talk to, but getting anything above a C on any of her tests is almost impossible. Very few people are able to do that

VERY VERY HARD TESTS, if you are new to psych DO NOT TAKE HER. Her tests are filled with concepts that are advanced. It will make you sad and crazy. She tests too hard for a 300 level class. Even if you study VERY VERY hard you'll still get only a C

I took both Abnormal and Biopsych in the same semester and just loved this teacher. She makes you work your butt off but you walk away having learned a ton. Great teacher!

Extremely good professor. She is awesome. As others have said, you will work HARD in her class, but it is well worth the hard work. I took biopsych from her and learned so much. I wish I had her earlier so I could have taken another class from her.

Super hard class and it's the hardest I've ever worked for a B! However, she teaches so well and thorough that I feel like she gave me a good quality of education. It's actually fun to push yourself to excel in her class.

Dr Caine really does make you work, but your rewarded for every bit of it. This class was the best class I've taken so far, it keeps you awake, and she is very approachable and knows her stuff inside and out.

Excellent Professor. Difficult course with a heavy work load but Dr. Caine is always available for questions or help. Very up to date on the subject and always willing to explain. Dr. Caine has no "tude".

Awesome course and equally awesome teacher. Super hard material, but if you pay attention, go to class, and take excellent notes, you'll be fine. Learned more in this class than any class I've ever had!

Oh my goddness! This is the hardes class I have ever taken. The first two tests are for one type of person and the last two tests are for a differtn kind, leaving a way for everyone to do ok if you really try. Make sure to go big onthe jouranls because they can save you. If full load, dont take.

VERY HARD TESTS (even though they are open note). She is a hard grader. 1 paper to write and no presentations in the class. I learned a lot from her. Her lectures were interesting. Do not take it if you are a slacker or have a heavy workload or other obligations.

This class was tough, but worth it. I really learned alot in her class, and she is a great professor, if you truly want to do good, talke good notes, tape record the class, and understand what you are learning. Dr. Caine is always available for help! I reccomend this class, and any class by Dr. Cain

Awesome Teacher, she really knows her stuff and is extremely willing to help outside of class. Hard stuff, but go to class, take notes and read the book, and you should be fine.

Dr Caine is one of the toughest teachers that you will ever have, but this is one of the few teachers who actually gives you your money's worth. If you survive, you will be king.

This is a hard class, but you learn alot. Taking notes in her class is hard, but if you can keep up you should have no problem. She knows her stuff and is very interested in it.

VERY HARD...I took the class twice...first time i recieved a C- and then i recieved a B...i did get a perfect score on the Second test because i studied hard on it...it is possible...READ YOU TEXT and then READ IT AGAIN.

She's an awesome teacher, knows her stuff and its very interesting. One of the best classes I've ever taken based on interest. But the test are HARD! Open notes, but those dont seem to help much. Low % of class gets a B or higher. But if you can hack the load, shes a great teacher to take & you'll walk out knowing a lot.

One of the best professors I've had at this college. She's very insightful and extremely knowledgeable about what she's teaching. She gives great examples and stories to help students understand and is overall really interesting to listen to. She's hard, but take good notes and read. If so, you'll do fine.

Hard tests. Awesome teacher. Take her just read every single darn sentence in the reading, do exactly what she says, and DON'T miss a lecture.

Best professor I've had!! Tough, but well worth it. She will have you attend support groups which correspond with material you're studying. She knows what she's talking about.

Dr.Caine is my favorite Professor! I took Biopsyc & comp.animal psyc lab.She challenges you &if you dont take her class seriously, you will not do well. People who think she is mean, its is because you dont make the effort to do well.Read participate and ask for help &you will do great!If you want to really want to earn your degree, take her class.

Excellent professor. Learned a great deal, including how to REALLY study, versus just skim by. Took BioPsyc and thought I was going to flunk out of college until she showed me how to study. I later took Comparitive Animal Behavior (PSYC 360) over easier classes because she's such a great professor. Does not talk down to students.

You do have to read, she is very clear about the material she presents to you and if you don't get it she will try and help you through it. You are allowed hand written notes on every test. She knows the subject well!!!

This class is hard but worth it. I mean, are we in college to get by on easy classes, or to be challenged and step up to a difficult class and do the work to be successful in it? Dr. Caine is a brilliant scientist and is a great person. Take the time to put extra effort into the class and to get to know her, and you will come out a smarter person.

A wonderful professor and person! I loved her class. Her lectures are very stimulating. Her tests are difficult, but that is only because they make you think about the big picture. This class is for students who are in college to LEARN. Anyone who complains about her expectations has lowered their expectations of what a true education entails.

Very hard class but worth the work. Excellent teacher. My grade in the class was C+ and I made the dean list last semster. Hard class but worth every minute, good grade possible, but I took four other classes and gave 85% effort.

THIS IS A DIFFICULT CLASS. You can use your notes on the test but to do well you need to critically think :) Mass amounts of reading, you must attend class because the reading supplements the lectures not the other way around. 5 2 pg writing assgn DO ALL and go to SI ( that's how I passed) Make nice with her, it will get you far...

Dr. Caine is very challenging but always willing to help her students. There is a "supplemental instruction" course - it helps a ton!! Careful though, I worked my butt off to get the grade I did, and I'm an A student. She doesn't at all have a "chip on her shoulder" or "hate life". She's friendly and funny. Absolutely fascinating material!

I learned more in this class than any other class I've ever taken-she is a great professor. The workload is like that of 2 classes combined-tests are open notes but it takes hours and hours to take the notes from the book. Tests aren't that hard, I got all A's, but the prep for the tests is a pain...an A is possible but it will be a lot of work!

A challenging class! The content is difficult, but she is a great professor. The first day of class she told us what was expected of us. One of the hardest B- I ever got. Do ALL the reading on time, go to SI and go to every class and will pass. The only complaint I have was on the book the Moral Animal. It was hard to accept Wright's arguments.

Get the book now and start reading...This class is tough, 4 exams all open note. Literally take notes on every paragraph. Come to every class and go to SI. 6 short papers, started grading harder on these as the semester went on. This class is do-able, but your gonna work.

Caine is so sweet ppl dislike her bc theyre not used to actually learning in school and being challenged.You must attend every class and SI or you fail.SI schedule posted very late so sign up for many classes and drop the one that interferes w/SI.If u can, dont work/take any other hard classes when in biopsyc.BEST PROF!

Definitely a tough class (only 2 or 3 people got A's on each exam). You will learn a LOT though and if you are planning on being a psychologist you really should learn this stuff. You will not pass if you don't take good detailed notes on lectures AND readings. Tests open note but hard. SI is helpful. Loved the lectures, would take her again!

This class is not a auto. F -I got an A by doing EXACTLY what she says:Do ALL reading ON TIME,come 2 class EVERY SINGLE DAY, go 2 SI EVERY SINGLE DAY, got 2 office hrs the sec.you're not 100% sure of something.She is the absolute BEST prof in the psyc department & VERY kind.This material is difficult no matter who teaches it!This is what school is!

She's really sweet and really knows what she's talking about But it is hard and you need to read all the readings and take notes! Open note tests. I tried to skip out on the readings and just go from lecture but failed the 1st test. Once I read and took notes I got B's on the tests. There's 3 tests and 1 final. Overall, very interesting class.

like all Caine's classes-tough, exhausting, but worth it. 4 research projects and 1 proposal, 1 stats exam. Doing so many projects made me a better writer, helped me be more comfortable with the research process. Wouldn't recommend this as your first lab class since you do so many projects. loved getting out to the wild animal park, great class!

This class involves tons of writing-4 real research projects/papers,1 research proposal, and 1 stats exam. You go to the wild animal park regularly. She expects you to be able to write like a scientist with little guidance and is tough with grading. Very time consuming. As always, I love Caine. Insanely hard but worth it!!!

This class is insanely difficult. I failed it with Caine and thought it was bc of Caine's style. Then I took it with Lower thinking it would be easier. Lowe is nicer, but the class is just as difficult. I finally passed bc I went to every single SI session. DO ALL THE WORK AND GO TO SI!!! Can'r skip anything in this class!

I worked so damn hard for my C, and I will take it and run!!! I loved this class, but it was the most difficult yet. Caine knows her stuff and expects you to know your stuff too. GO TO SI!!! Seriously, MAKE IT WORK. Read the text, take good notes, and go to her office hours if need be :)

i am going to end up repeating this course, but i don't feel as though my semester was a waste, and i will take it with caine again. she may be very hard-nosed when it comes to grading but you will learn the absolute most in this class. do not skimp on ANY of the assignments or readings and take full advantage of using notes on exams.

So I took this class years ago but I have to say - this was the 1st class I ever took at this level. It was so hard, but this is real life level of work. I am in law school now and so many things she did prepared me well for what I'm experiencing now. If you value your education, do what it takes to do well in her classes. Invaluable.

This is the hardest class I have ever taken. Caine is very nice, but she is a very hard grader. Her exams are open notes, but she does not ask simple questions.

Yes, she is a tough grader, but she is the best professor on the campus. I learned so much in her biopsyc class it made me take her lab class because I knew I would benefit as a student from the experience. If you actually want to LEARN something (not just memorize) I recommend you take her for biopsyc, if you dont want to learn, take someone else.

Honestly, im sad the lab is over. If you take this lab you will undoubtly become a better writer because of it. Lab papers are only about 5 pages each, the oral presentation was pretty scary but if you get to know caine, it doesnt have to be so scary. She is willing to help if you give her your effort.

She's hard. She expects a lot. Chances are, you won't get an A. On anything. But, this class will help you. You'll understand research and writing better. Not an easy A class. If you fail the 1 stats exam, you fail the *entire* class, so study. 4 HARD papers, 1 exam, 1 HARD proposal, 1 HARD group project. All worth it though, and I'd do it again.

Hardest class ever! Worked my butt off for a C but its so worth it to take Caine. Shes amazing and so helpful and makes this an enjoyable class. Reading and attendance is mandatory to pass! take really good notes, go to SI and DEFINITELY go to her office hours. Absolutely love Caine! 4exams, 4journals, keep up w/ reading &do journals ahead of time.

She's very nice but I really struggled in this class. I've gotten an A or a B in every class I've taken at CSUSM (for 3 years) but I got a C in this class. Ridiculously hard for a 3 unit undergraduate class. You have to take one stats test to pass the whole thing. Also, don't expect to get an A in this class. I would not take her again.

She is a great professor, although she is pretty tough. You HAVE to read and work hard to get a decent grade in the class. The concepts aren't too hard to grasp however there's a lot you have to know. Luckily the tests are open note, so take good notes. I would def. recommend taking bio psyc with her if you want to learn alot!

If you had a hard time in Biopsych, or if you're not good at writing, you should probably take a different lab. Grading consists of 3 papers, 1 group poster, 1 proposal paper and presentation, and 1 exam. If you don't pass the exam, you cannot get higher than a C. Learned a lot and had fun at the Safari Park. Personally I really enjoyed this class.

Nancy Caine is amazing. If you go to her office hours she will go over notes to help you improve them and explain what went wrong with your test. If you do the work she will work with you. This is a tough class no matter who you take. Read the books. Go to SI. Take notes. This goes for all 360 classes. Hard grader but if you pass it feels great.

This class was by far the hardest class Ive ever taken. Especially in the beginning of the course. Nancy however is very intelligent and does her very best to pass along her knowledge and teach you to the best of her ability. She and the class are intimidating at first but if you do the reading and take vigorous notes you will do just fine!

I would say to make a good outline but do not focus on the key terms, u have to know the key terms but u have to know how things work ( the more detail the better) she has open note tests so if you can do the study guide and write explanations for things it helps. I got a B+ on my first test, but I read the chapters and made notes and study guide.

Nancy Caine is an awesome funny professor who exceeds at explaining difficult content. Caine is willing to work with you through office hours to review tests and to help you better understand the content of lectures. I've taken several professors but Caine is the best when it came to Biopsych. Would take again w/ her honestly.

I took Dr. Caine for both PSY 360 and PSY 394 and it was the best / most rewarding decisions I ever made. Yes, Dr. Caine presents very tough classes with tough grading, however, she is fair and does very well to work with you and guide you to passing grades. I will always recommend her to the student who wishes to really understand psychology more.

As you are hearing, BioPsych is one of the hardest classes you will take. For the online format, the tests were open book, so not sure how it is in person. READ THE BOOK! Her lectures aren't book focused so read the book and attend the study sessions after for the best results. 4 exams, 5 pt quiz after every class, 2 journal article reports, no EC

Bio Psych is a hard class no matter what. Dr. Caine however was the best professor I could have taken. Her lessons were incredibly interesting. She was able to teach in a way that made me fell in love with Bio Psych. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her as my professor. If you are planning on taking this class, pick her class and thank me later!

Dr. Caine is awesome! If you are looking for an easy A or someone to hold your hand, look elsewhere. If you are a serious student and want to improve your writing abilities/knowledge of Psych, I strongly suggest taking her. I was nervous going in because I heard how 'hard' her class was, but it was honestly one of the best classes I took at CSUSM.

Biopsychology is known for being a hard class but Caine is definitely the best professor to have! There are four exams you have to take plus daily quizzes after each lecture. The BEST advice I could give is to keep up on all of the reading and attend SI sessions for outside help! Her lectures are great and she definitely knows the material well!

Dr. Caine is a great professor but to have a good grade in the class means you need to work extra hard on your notes, papers, and tests. So, I suggest staying on top of readings, going to SI, and seeking help when you need it. She is very knowledgeable and a great lecturer for BIO 360. Prof Caine is a very smart professor, class is very hard, you must put time and effort in order to pass this class. So study and go to SI sessions! Class consist of 4 exams, 3 journal article reports, daily class quizzes (5 questions), and an optional final exam which could help you pass the class. Must get a C average (73+) to pass the class.

Very intense course, but manageable with enough time and studying. SI sessions are immensely helpful. No technology, so bring a notebook and pen! Consists of lecture period followed by 5 question T/F quiz (open note), 3 total journal article reports, 4 exams (open note).

LOVE LOVE LOVE! such an amazing teacher if you enjoy her teaching style. Very direct and blunt in grading, no sugar coating; but quick grader with amazing feedback. Available and very helpful outside of class. Very passionate about what she teaches. Very clear instructions and syllabus. Doesn't use technology, everything is physical/hard copy.

Tough but rewarding class with Professor Caine. Her direct grading style pushes you to excel. While challenging, the course is worthwhile if you're passionate about the subject. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for studying.
