Excellent teacher, especially if you need extra help or don't understand the subject. She's a total Star Trek nut, so most of the test have some questions that "Trekkies" really laugh at.

She is very helpful when you are doing bad she will take time to meet with you and help you. She doesn't assign a bunch of busy work and she was a really good teacher because i hate math and her class wasn't bad at all.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME, this is the first math teacher I have had that I have actually undstood!! Math is not easy for me one bit. I took her for Math116 and College Algebra, I passed them both in one try, and for me that means she is TOP NOTCH!

Nancy is a quirky, enthusiastic and laidback instructor. Most College Algebra courses require graphing calculators, except her-this allows the student to really understand the concepts in class. Do all work and prepare for tests, since she's detailed.

Mr. Carpenter is awsome!!!!! Thats all there is to say. Her office is always open if you need help. She gives her students more than enough chances for extra credit.

Carpenter was the best teacher I have ever had in any subject. She is always more than willing to help outside of class, tests aren't hard. I passed her class with 102%. She gives very helpful test reviews and many extra credit opportunities. 2 years later and I still remember everything, thanks!

This teacher was very nice and made things simple for people who do not understand math. I was pregnant and had to miss class for two weeks and she made sure to give me extra time on everything. She makes it a point to get to know you and cares about your grade.

Mrs. Carpenter is very enthusiastic about math. She always has her door open for questions. If you are willing to learn, she is willing to teach. Gives good tests and gives good note packets to follow along in class. Wish she was teaching trig next semester. If you can't get her, try Balman.

Very good teacher, gives a lot of homework,but if you do it you get a good grade. No unneccesary work only what you need to get a good grade on test. I hate math, and have previously failed most math classes. But with Ms. Carpenter I got an A, lot of work, but a good grade. Also, she is extremely helpful, and is very good at making class fun. GREAT

Nancy was very dedicated to teaching students math. She wore a smile, everyday, to class. She was always upbeat and full of energy. She projected the "You can do it!" attitude. Although her courses were not overly easy, she always had new "shortcuts" to get you through. If I had it to do all over, I would absolutly take Nancy Carpenter again!

very helpful if you make the time to go down to her office. she is excited about math and tries to make it fun! great teacher... especially if you are scared of math like i was.

She's a great and caring professor ... if you are a student whos weaknesses is MATH ... she will difinitely help and make you change your negative thoughts about MATH a 180 degree turn.

Tough class, but she is willing to help if needed, very good at explaining material simply for people that arent good with math.

Mrs. Carpenter is hilarious! She LOVES 'algebra land' She gets so excited about everything and it just makes me want to do work. She also helps with ANYTHING you need help with. I wish she was my teacher for every class.

a great teacher!! however, has a horrible grading system. I got "a"s on all the test and got a "b" because i did not understand how the participation points work.. so if you take her make sure you get ALL the info on the participation points.

I took this having barely passed all previous math classes, so I tried extra hard. She makes it easy to get a good grade, you just have to take advantage of the help she offers. I have had 100% in both classes since day 1 (which is amazing)

Welcome to Algabra land. Never thought math could be fun, but with Mrs. C it is fun. cant wait till next semester to take College Alg with her. Bring M&M's for brownie points

she is simply the best teacher i've EVER had.she takes the time to explain what you don't understand even if it is stupid.she makes math fun and is very energetic.if you don't like math.. take her and she will change your mind.do your participation points they really add up.

Mrs. C. is fast,clear, and fun. You have to keep up and practice. Go to the math lab, do the homewk., and ask her what you don't understand--you'll be fine if you do this and her participation points.

Mrs. C has a unique sense of humor. She has always helped me with the material even when I did not understand. Her door is always open for extra help. I highly recommend her for Algebra or the combo class,it was a blast also. With her you need a positive attitude toward math and an open mind. I use to hate math and now I'm a A student.

I was so so with math Mrs. C provides lots of help, hand outs, one on one, she'll go the extra mile for you. Do your assigned homework, study,ask questions. If your lazy you'll bomb. Mrs. C has a quirky sense of humor. and she takes an interest in her students.

I took Intermediate and College Algebra with Mrs. C. She is an amazing teacher. I had never enjoyed math before her class, yet she made math so accesible and worthwhile that I loved her class! If she taught every class in college I would take them all. I really appreciate her ex-credit ops, and her open door office policy. I loved my time with her

If you want to learn Algabra and sucseed in following math classes, take her. I have issues adding but still got an 88 in her class. She is not easy, just a great Professor, math or otherwise.

Super person Helpful and willing to help you. Expects you to work hard as well. Do work out side of class and you'll be ok. Wine and have excuses and you"ll die in Algebra Land.

She's an amazing TEACHER ... that's her real strength. She wants you to LEARN this material and does everything she can to help you. Granted, you have to take up your end of the bargain too. I won't kid. There's WORK involved ... but it's worth it because she presents the material better than just about any teacher I've ever had. Mrs C ROCKS!!

Best of the best. Period. If you are nervous about taking a math course, then she is the one for you. She goes out of her way every single day to be energetic about teaching. If you meet her half way then you'll be just fine. Wouldn't say she's easy per se, but she is a fantastic teacher. I loved taking her class.

I hated her at the begining of class b/c I thought she was **** or something. However, I learnt not to judge people by their cover ... and now I think she is ok. Her class is hard, you would have to study everyday. Her projects and homework games just suck!

She takes the extra time to help if needed. She is definately a math freak. She made it fun and has the ability to break it down to the level needed.

I wish that she taught my math classes in High School and it would have saved a lot of headaches. If Math is a challenge, this is your teacher. Word to the wise taking Math 099 Combo - IT IS A LOT OF WORK - Completely worth it.

Mrs. C made learning algebra easy. I wish all of my math instructors were this great! I would have liked math a lot more! Algebra Land isn't a bad place to visit, you just have to make sure you are there every class period and follow the rules. I recommend her to anyone that has any hesitations about math; she makes learning easy.

Nancy made it a blast. She uses real life examples. She offerers so much extra credit, it's not funny. After the Final I had a 103 in the class! She allows you to turn in homework before the due date. She "grades" it (but not for a grade) and gives it back to you and lets you do it again. There is no reason someone should get less than a 100%

Mrs. Carpenter is a great Algebra teacher. If you have the opportunity be sure to take her for Intermediate Algebra also. She gives you quite a bit of homework but you need to do it to be successful. She is very fair and will help you with any problems. I highly recommend her for any math course!

Really awesome and funny teacher. She isnt harsh on attendance but it is part of your particapation grade and if you miss a day you will miss an important lecture. She gives points for everything. Her tests and assignments are very short. if you have trouble in math, she is the teacher you are looking for

she is awsome. truely the main reason i am passing-took her for pre-algebra, intermediate algebra and am already enrolled for her college algebra class. She's a little off the wall and different, but a great teacher. Explains thing very well. Very helpful!

She was a very good teacher, if I take a teacher after wards of taking her class again...that is the best compliment that I could give a teacher. She expects you to know your stuff, but then again, you are in college for a reason. While not agreeing with her stance on everything..this by no means deterred her from keeping my interest and mind .

Mrs. C was very helpfull to those who wanted to learn and if you didnt show up for class she would help you get caught up regardless. I was not the ideal math student but she made me want to come to class and not miss a lesson in algebraland!

She is the most incredible teacher I have ever had! She covers the material in a way that makes it easy to understand! She offers many chances to earn points and she is very willing to help you understand the material! You should take her for every math class!

Mrs. Carpenter is awesome!! This is my third time taking this course and i lucked out to get an awesome teacher like her. If you attend class each day and follow her notes you shouldn't have any problems passing. Even if you miss a day she'll help you out. I wish i was taking her next semester for my next math class.

She is really really nice, so easy to get an A, the only thing is you have to go to class every single day or you might lose points and she will not teach you stuff from the day you were gone. If you were in class she will explain you whatever you want as many times as you need. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THE BOOK, I DID NOT EVEN OPEN MINE.

The most incredible teacher of all!!! She will do all she can to help you understand the material. She is super fun and makes algebra enjoyable! Attend every class, do your post papers, keep your participation points up, do your homework daily and success will be yours!

AMAZING!! I am NOT a math person. Never understood math until now. She is SOO helpful and sincerely wants you to succeed! A lot of work is involved if you want to do well, but if you do it you'll succeed! Algebraland isn't such a horrible place if you're there with Mrs. C! Take her.. as much as you possibly can!

I had to take Math 115 three times before taking this class so I was a little nervous about this class until I started. She is amazing and goofy and makes math fun. She does give you a lot of work, but checks answers before you turn them in. Take her Mon-Fri and get more tests with less material to learn. Cant wait to take her again.

Mrs C is a dream! REALLY! Her teaching style is like non other. If you struggle in math she is the one who needs to teach you! Shes patient and helpful! She teaches us like we are in Kinegarden taking us down streets, but at the end of the class, your day is brighter and you know how to do the work. Mrs. C is a wonderful professor. She is so incredibly helpful, generous & makes herself available to you. IF you do the work she gives YOU the opportunity to do, you will get an A. IF you struggle with math, take her. Don?t run at the beginning of the semester no matter how different her method may seem, stick around; she truly cares about YOU.

This prof is awesome. Explains things well and is well organized. Plenty of extra credit available both on the tests and at the end of the semester. She even came up with her own "textbook" to save students some cash.

Such a great teacher. Enthusiastic, very caring and helpful, gives lots of extra points to help, very patient, her office is a friendly, welcome place for help. Keeps you aware all thru semester where you are with your grades. Makes Algebra endurable when it is not your favorite subject.

Nancy was awesome. She was helpful, informative, and hilarious. She does get off track once in a while but it's to keep the class interesting. I worked very hard to get an A in the class because I blew off the first test but with a few hours of algebra a day you'll do great!

Mrs. Carpenter is beyond awesome. I was a student with a disability and she was truly supportive and had a great deal of empathy. She uses a workbook, n ot a textbook. On the plus side of things, workbook notes are included in the workbook before the worksheets. She gives HW Set problems. Just a tip...do not procrastinate on the HW sets!

Best teacher I have ever had for math. Makes her own class textbook and makes sure EVERY student understands the material! I'm not good at math but feel prepared for the next level thanks to Nancy. There is a lot of work involved but make sure you do it all to gain points and get a good grade! You will NOT regret taking her class.

Mrs. C is a wonderful professor. Do not take her if you're just looking for an easy A. She teaches for you to learn, not for you to simply pass. But she gives you a lot of tricks to help remember things, provides extra credit opportunities, is extremely fair, and is always available if you need help. I'm very happy to have been her student.

Mrs. C. was an absolutely terrific teacher. I am not a math person, but she made it easy to pay attention and learn in her class. I am so grateful that I was able to have her as my intermediate algebra teacher. She does not give easy As, but you can pass her class easily if you do all of your assigned homework, daily work, & extra credit.

Mrs. C is tied for the best teacher I've had at JCCC. She loves Math and she makes all of the material very easy for you to understand. If you don't pass her class, then you didn't try. If you come to class and do the homework, this class is an easy A. LOVE HER.

When first taking this class, I did not care for the professor. At times, she seemed condescending and rude. However, as time progressed, I had found that she really cared for her students. She simply didn't care for nonsense. The work is difficult and time consuming, but if you do it ALL! you will pass with a good grade.

She is giddy about math. She is the head of the math department and knows her stuff. She only teaches one class a semester so really has time to devote to her students. Do the practice stuff, use pre-checks to your advantage, ask for help as much as you need--bonus: Her office is amazing!

Head of the Math department and it shows, she is open minded, through, professional instructor with a knack for getting her students excited about math when they walk in the door. I would take any class she taught just to take her again.

She gives bonus points, you just need to know where to look on D2L. Attending every class is key to passing.
