Professor Feather is one of the best teachers I've had. She's hilarious, nice, easy to understand, and very helpful and quick to respond to e-mails. HIGHLY RECOommend.
Took class when Nancy was a grad student, so I'm sure she is even better now. She was an excellent instructor as well as a compassionate individual. She was always well prepared and her classes were interesting. Good sense of humor.

Nancy is a great teacher! She makes the topic really interesting and easy to understand. Also is very open to discussion from the class. Just reads the notes, and tells you exactly what is on each test. A very easy class!
EASY EASY EASY class. She is direct and gives you exactly what will be on the test on review day. Good videos in class. Good discussions, if any. Easy to take notes from. Highly Recommended.
Easiest class ive ever taken, I didnt even come to class for two weeks and got a B on the exam. Everything she says comes directly out of the book...WORD FOR WORD so when you do go to class just take a highlighter and highlight what she says. Highly reccommend her!!!
She is the BEST college professor that I have encountered... (to date). I love this professor and recommend anyone looking 4 3hrs of cluster "b" credit to take this course... I will definately be taking another course she teaches!!!
Nancy is great! If your looking for an easy A take her! She reviews for her test the day before and to study all you have to do is look over your notes a few times! Make the class interesting! She is great!
Feather Rocks!
bangin easy class. read the book you dont even have to go to class just show up and take that test. like a mid high school level course rather than college
Nancy is the best. Take her. She doesn't try to trick you. She tells you exactly what will be on the exam, and if you pay attention in class you don't even need the book. I love Nancy.
Such an awesome lady! She let's you know what is exactly on the tests, you can miss class occasionally, and you learn a lot.
EASY CLASS - notes are taken directly from the book, tests are pretty much common sense, great teacher if you go to class you will actually learn a lot and the material is somewhat interesting. You can get an A in here with minimal effort.
She is a awesome lady, she makes it clear what is going to be on the test and exams and she also explains everything with excellent clarity. She is not like other professors that don't care about their students, she cares.
Very influential and interested on the topic she teaches!
Very easy class. Her lectures notes come straight from the book and so do her tests! Easy A! She is very nice, and I enjoyed the class!
Very good teacher, lets u kno whats going to be on the tests!
Easiest prof. ever! Very flexible, very informative. Doesn't take attendance and takes notes from the book, but u don't even need to buy a book if you take good notes. Grading is straight forward...she "reviews" w/ what's on the test W/ THE TEST! Lectures aren't boring either. GET THIS PROF!!!
great material, taught in a way that made you learn and succeed in the class. She respects each student and treats you as such. Great instructor......get in her class if you can!
Ms. Feathers presents a very informative class. She is down to earth and willing to teach you, unlike other professors at this university. If you are looking for a filler class, and interested in learning a little bit choose her for a semster. An A on your transcript never hurts!
She is an interesting teacher. She trys to make things fun.
Very helpful... Very easy class! Highly recommended
Professor Feather is a great and interesting teacher. she keep the class interesting and is always willing to help...she really cares about her students.
very easy, tells you what to know for test
Awesome and easy! Love the class and Feather!
Nicest lady! Very funny, tells stories, and makes her class fun. She's fair in terms of testing, and really wants her students to do well. Take her!
Nancy Feather is a wonderful person that is very passionate about what she is teaching. Her class is very easy and interesting. It is very hard to fail this class! She tells you everything you need to know for tests and everything comes straight from the book! A+ teacher!!
if you have an attention span, you can pass this class.
VERY EASY! She is a nice lady and this is actually a really interesting class...my favorite so far! She shows interesting movies, and all her notes come straight from the test. Take your book and a pen to class...that's all you need.
Shes awesome..point blank.
Great teacher......goes by the book the entire time but gives clear examples on how to understand the definitions.
Great! Best professor EVER!! Easy A. Follows the book word for word. AWESOME!!!
Tests are all vocab. Make Flashcards and you have an A. Very nice, teaches right out of the book. Gives extra credit for attendence. BIG CLASSES THOUGH. ONLY 5 MC tests.
BORING!
Really nice professor, goes strait from the book. rarely takes attendance, very clear on material. She also reviews for tests. If u need this class, get her to teach it.
She's wonderful. If you are going to take SOCA 101, Take Feather!
Feather is great, if you have to take a soc class, she makes hers worthwhile...:)yay
just know the key terms and you will easily pass
I got an A in chem 117, bio 115 and calc 1 and still mananged a B in her class... if u'r a math/science person this class isn't for you
Here's how I did this class: I went for the first two weeks, realized her lectures weren't based on anything but the textbook, stopped going to class except for the review day before the day of the exam, studied for an hour, got an A on the test. End result? A in the class. Difficulty level of a 10th grade health class. Remember those? YEAH.
This class is easy, but lectures are relatively unhelpful. I felt like going to class was a waste of time since lectures were straight from the book. Go to class on review days. Tests were extremely easy aside from some boring statistics that were hard to memorize. I almost got a B because of the stats, but other than that tests are easy.
Reads directly from the book....no need to bring a notebook to class, just highlight what she says; she reads word for word. And to top it off, she assigned a paper during dead week and it was due during finals week! Not very organized.
This class is so easy...she gives you exactly what is on the tests for reviews-you don't even have to show up most of the time, but she does give random attendance points. VERY easy class.
i loved the class. easy and she makes it interesting. i actually stay awake in this class.
she is a very sweet woman. the class is easy i love soca anyway but she keeps it real test are easy. she is awesome
Prof. Feather explains concepts in an easy-to-understand way with great examples. She is passionate about the subject... she even shows a video of her experiences in Amish country. Prof. Feather made me a more open-minded person. She has a great sense of humor and an even better taste in music! She comes across as genuinely sweet and compassionate.
Very easy class, interesting too! Tests come straight from the notes so if you go to class and take notes it's hard not to get an A. Uses lots of examples and videos so it's easy to understand. Take her!
Easy class. Text come right from notes. If you just go to class you can pass. The class is dragged on though, she goes on and on and you never get out early. but the class is pretty easy
Very friendly teacher. Cares about her students. Lectures somewhat interesting.
tends to ramble, but a very easy class. as long as you get the notes you will pass
Easy, but very boring. Don't have to go to class, just show up for review days to know what to study.
BORING. If you can stay awake you may get notes. She goes off subject alot and the work book she made is retarded. Alot of stuff she said was going to be on the test wasnt, then other stuff was. I would not recommend her, but shes not hard.
I hated going to this class. The extra credit comes late in the semester. She's boring and she rambles she turns a class that should take 45 min into twice that long.
Test questions are hard to answer. For some reason they confuse you about what you memorize from the workbook. All you do is take notes in workbook. A few of the test questions will be straight from her mouth during a lecture. Only gives 3 exams and the last final is not cumulative. However, I still took it for an easy A and ended up with a B.
Easy class, she tells you exactally what's on the test. You just copy notes in a workbook. Can get boring, but it's a good class to take.
Nacy feather is a really easy teacher. She gives you a notebook with everything you need to know in the class and the class before exams she tells you 95 % of what will be on the test, take her for 101
This class is SIMPLE. The tests come right from her mouth and the workbook. I asked her 3 questions on a test and she gave me 3 answers, she will bend over backwards for you, eventhough i would love to see her bend over backwards..hahaha, take her, youll know what i mean
I expected to hate this class, but it was actually somewhat interesting. Very easy.
wonderful woman - presents info clearly - sometimes rambles about one thing for the whole class but it is worth going to cause of the extra credit she gives sometimes...she was great!
Easy class. Very nice teacher, will help you get a good grade.
Can be boring and tends to talk a lot and ramble on. Interesting class though.
I LOVE FEATHER! SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVER HAVE AT WVU!!
AWESOME class. extrememly easy. i NEVER went to class, only 4 times, once for each exam and i pulled a C+. every test is straight from your workbook and your workbook answers are straight from the book. class isnt madatory so that helps. very helpful and easy teacher. def. recommend for sociology.
DONT buy the book...JUST BUY THE WORKBOOK! I never once opened my book--totally useless. Nancy's tests only come from lecture material in your workbook. So get the WB material somehow. Attendance only taken twice(once 4 bonus) Tests were semi-tricky though, made it seem like numerous answers were right. I think everyone in the class did well.
She is a very good teacher. She keeps class interesting with good examples and different teaching styles. Do not buy the book, just the workbook. Her tests are entirely from the workbook (which she wrote). Attendance is not mandatory, but it definitely helps tremendously.
AWESOME teacher! I love her, her lectures are really interesting and she is so so nice! Just buy the workbook and take notes in that, thats where the test questions are from. Tests aren't extremely easy but I barely studied and pulled off a B. I definitely recommend her!!!!
she's an awesome teacher. the class is easy as long as you go and take notes in the work book. she takes attendance sometimes. and her tests are so easy as long as you study.
The lectures really dragged on especially in a 3 hr night class. The tests were easy and mostly based on statistics.
This class is very easy. DON'T BUY THE BOOK!! She has a workbook you can buy which is all you need. Tests come straight from the workbook. Attendance is randomly taken.
Great teacher, LOTS of examples--seriously like 20 for each topic, and buy her lecture notebook and you'll be set its a great study guide and you will know exactly what you need to write down!
easy A
Nice lady, worthless teacher. I cannot count the days on my hands that she didn't come prepared for class, forgot her lecture notes, and just did the lecture off her head. Very boring and uninformative...I would not recommend.
Shes nice and not a bad teacher. Tests all about the notebook.
She's a really nice lady, and is very interested in teaching, and the students learning the material. She can be a little flaky at times, but always has stories or examples to keep you interested when you go to class. If you get the class notebook and study it, you will do fine on the exams. One of my easiest classes of my freshman year.
i don't like this teacher very much
Take Brewster for SOCA 101 if you want an A!!! It is HARD to get an A from this class because exam questions are so tricky. My GPA is 3.5 so far and I am in senior year, but I couldn't get A because exams were so tricky.
The notebook for the class is convenient, but you must take good notes, and read over them (copy down the statistics she gives you) if you want an A. Attendance factors into your grade (and you never know when she'll take attendance), so go to class!
This was a pretty easy class if you had the notebook. Basically, write down all the things she says about a bulleted item, & star them when she reviews for an exam. Memorize the starred items, take the test, & forget about the information--you'll never need it again. Also, don't buy the textbook...I easily got an A with just the notebook
She was a good teacher, Get her optional study guide notebook and pay attention in class and to the videos and you will get an easy high B or an A.
Nancy is a cool lady. She makes the class easy and rather interesting. She shows some wild movies. You don't even need a book just the work book all of your material lies within that thing. Do the few assignments and go to class now and again. If you get less than a B your truely an idiot.
This teacer is irresponsible and unorganized. She also just reads out of the textbook. She also lost my assignment and gave me the wrong grade and didn't return my messages for over a month. Avoid this teacher at all cost!
Easy class. Just buy the notebook at the beginning of the year and fill it out. She goes over exactly what will be on the test the week before. Large lecture class, but still asks for input from students, good teacher.
EASY!! She is a really nice lady and she makes her lectures interesting. If you buy the notebook at the beginning of the year and take notes it is an easy A. Attendance is not a big deal at all. She takes attendance maybe 10 times a semester and most of those are at the end of semester. take her!!
Take Brewster instead.
not such a good teacher. she'd waste time talking about things she didn't need to talk about (blue and purple monkeys, for example- it really happened, sadly..) the book was useless. take notes in the notebook. try not to fall asleep- it can happen in this class..
take brewster instead!
Friends took the class and said it was easy. Class has changed, you do the workbook every class, but the tests are not easy at all. Workbook is concepts the tests are the concepts applied in detail. In order to pass a test you have to master the concept when there is a whole lot of concepts. The class is not easy.
Take the other teacher, if you want to actually learn Sociology. About uh...90% of what she said about criminology is WRONG, and a lot of the things she teaches is extremely biased. She's...ridiculous.
She claims she wrote the textbook herself and gives you the notes in class but it's useless. She tells you everything on the test then you go and take it and hardly anything she told you to study is on the test! definitely take the other teacher if you want to learn Sociology and get a great grade
Heads up, she WILL frustrate you sometimes. She talks about random crap alot of the time. Makes you watch videos that are heartbreaking and no relevance to the material. The class is easy, the tests are different. It's an A, though. Do well on tests and get attendance.
If you can sit through an hour and 15 min class of her jumping all over the place in her so called notebook with random irrelevant video clips thrown in there on occasions, then be my guest. Had an A in the class until she decided to drop a test I received a 96% on because of an ecampus testing error that was her fault.
Nancy is a great teacher. Go to class, take the notes in the back of the textbook, write the reaction papers and take the tests. Tests right off the notes. It really is that easy. Just pay attention.
Ms. Feather is a good teacher. Although she is boring, if you force yourself to stay awake and pay attention, you don't even have to study to get A's on the tests.
TAKE HER CLASS!!! Easiest A. Don't need to attend class, but always did, because she keeps it fun and it is her lectures are interesting. Shows a lot of movies. A few written papers, but very easy.
Good teacher and she keeps my interest
Sits there and talks about random stories and doesn't get to the point. when it came time for the exam, none of the information on the test was discussed in class. It's a pretty easy class, but it's pointless to sit there for 1 hr and 15 min, sometimes more, just to get a couple stupid stories, and useless info. that's irrelevant to the exams.
I'd like to begin this by saying everyone who thinks this woman is super helpful, is crazy. Yes, she does tell stories, but she does not know the correct details. I learned many of these stories in psychology already, so I know them pretty well. If she can't remember parts of the story, she adds her own details to fill in the gaps. To be continued.
I didn't like her at all. There is no point going to class because she doesn't give clear definitions so you have to look them up in the book yourself anyways. The homework she gives is confusing and when you ask her about it she tells you its your fault you don't pay attention.
just rambles about definitions all class, doesnt use a powerpoint or anything. randomly gives attendance points
I love me some Nancy Feather. I have her for 221 this semester, the night class. The material isn't interesting but she is. Sweetest lady in the world, gives study guides and will go over them with you, a couple easy online assignments.. it's a good class to be in. Everyone should take her/221!
Nancy is a great teacher and her classes are interesting. HOWEVER, her test and assignments are ridiculous! The way she words things makes you constantly second guess yourself. I would have an A but due to the tests have a b-c.
just rambles terrible teacher online quizes suck she makes the question opinions not facts
Feather is the WORST professor at wvu. She is completely incompetent. She has no idea how to teach a class and constantly messes up concepts that psychology professors actually teach properly. She is rude and blames her students for the mistakes she makes on exams and homework. I 100% regret taking her class. She makes material harder than it is.
I had her for SOCA 101 and failed because the exams were horrible. Had to take her again for SOCA 221 and the class was so unorganized, horribly taught, and online grades and assignments were awful.
Nancy Feather was a huge mistake. Sociology was supposed to be a GPA booster for me and I got a B in this class. She takes attendance five times the whole semester randomly. If you miss any your grade drops a ton. I had an 89% test average, 100% homework average and 100% papers, yet I still got a B due to a few attendance points. Terrible.
She rambles in class and tells stories that do not relate to the material. She makes you stay for the entire 1 hour 15 minute class and was almost always 10 to 15 minutes lat herself. You will have to do all the work her notes are a waste of time. Take another teacher or another class in general if you are looking for an easy GEC that is fair.
Worst teacher, avoid at all costs. All she does is read definitions, and her online assignments are nearly impossible
I really enjoyed her class. i suggest buying the textbook as it makes the exams easier and to attend class because how she explains the definitions are usually how she words her exam questions. This class didn't require to much effort to get an A
Do not take this teacher, she shows up late every day and just gives you definitions off of the top of her head. The online assignments make no sense and are impossible to fully understand. She makes the test and it has no references to what she has said in class. She wants you to teach your self, and wont let you look at old exams for your final
All the negative comments are true but at the same time, her course is extremely easy. I put very little effort into her class and got a B.
I don't understand why all these people don't like Feather. Although class was very boring, this was the easiest class in the world! She gives you like 5 extra credits worth up to 5 points each and they are all so easy. Assignments are kind of difficult but tests are pretty easy! Take this for an easy GEC.
Easiest class I have taken so far. She is a terrible professor that reads straight from the book and tries to cover up her ultra-feminism. If you're looking for an easy A, take this class. If you're looking for a good class where you can learn something, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
It was pretty easy. Take notes and don't forget to do the online assignments and you'll be fine.
Horrible teacher. Didn't teach what was on the tests, in fact didn't teach at all. Rambled during class about her life and how she is an awesome sociologist. Went to every class, did all my assignments, and still had no idea what was going on in the class. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
This teacher is the worst teacher I have ever had. She doesn't come to class on time and doesn't follow her own syllabus. I know a lot of people "like" this class because it is easy, but if I have to attend and am paying top-dollar tution fees to be taught something, I expect the teacher to ACTUALLY TEACH. Avoid this teacher at all costs.
Horrible teacher! The best thing to do is a buy a book from someone who already has the notes in it so you don't have to bother going to class.
a good teacher but ridiculously feminist which can become quite annoying as a male. If you take her and are not a feminist be prepared for the marriage section. She makes women out to be completely innocent and men out to appear as terrible people. Aside from that she really is a great professor
I currently have her now and it seems the class is somewhat difficult to get an A based on that there is so few points. I keep getting low B's on tests and assignments. Will she give more EC other than attendance by the end of the sememster?
This woman is NUTS. She hardly teaches anything. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you better go if you wanna pass. She's conceited and moody all the time. I studied & went to class, got Ds on the tests, and ended up with an F. Take Johnson, I'm DF repeating and taking her now, she's awesome. Heard Brewster is cool, dont take him if you're homophobic
This teacher is awful. She is EXTREMELY feminist most of her lectures are about how women are all innocent victims in society, and that men are terrible people and completely useless. Tests are easy, but if you want to learn something about Sociology don't take her.
worst teacher i have ever had, she is lazy, does not use powerpoint, rambles on, does not review, poorly teaches the material if at all. do not waste your time with this professor.
An ok teacher. you gotta go to class to take notes. Even still i study and still get C's on my exams. Her exam questions are worded bad. its hard to study for her exams. Take a different teacher because she talks to much and rambles. doesnt give enough points to even try to get an A
She was an awful teacher. She showed up 10 minutes late, or not at all, the whole class she just talks about stuff that half of the time has nothing to do with your coursework. She doesn't understand technology at all, so expect another 5-10 minutes wasted a class. If you want to read the book and get an easier A than going to class, take her.
Rambles a lot and the class is semi interesting. online assignments are hard but if u read the book youll get an A like i did.
She is a terrible teacher. She constantly rambles. She's constantly talking about feminism. Her tests are worded bad, so I usually only get B's or C's on them. Her homework is usually hard. There's no need to even go to class!
She rambles for hours and doesn't make sense. The tests are easy, yet the questions are misleading and it's easy to be confused by the context and end up with a low grade. Feathers just isn't very intelligent; there's no other way to say it. I wouldn't recommend taking her.
Should be an easy class but her tests are hard. She doesnt really go out of her way to help students out that are having a hard time. Take a different professor
Attendance isnt mandatory so that makes it a bit more difficult to go to class and listen to her ramble on for a lecture. Exams are pretty easy but the wording of questions kinda screws with you. She runs the class in a way that you can skip class and just study the book to do OK on exams. Not much help as a teacher though
I felt that her class was pretty easy. She uses scenarios to explain terms and most of the time those same scenarios are on tests. The online assignments are pretty much like the scenarios used in class. Just pay attention to her scenarios and you'll get at least a B.
This is by far one of the easiest classes at WVU. Go to class, take the notes, and study half an hour before the exam and you'll get an A.
Very easy class, she tells you exactly what is on every test. You do need the book though, I didnt have the book for the first test and bombed it but when it came in I managed to get A's on the rest. Easy and if you need soc 101 take this!
She is very easy, tests are fair. Tells you exactly what terms to know for the test and the random bonus attendance points are really nice. Come to class and take down everything she says. She shares long and drawn out stories about each term but it is very helpful in memorizing.
Attendance is not mandatory, but you get extra credit points throughout the semester if you are there. If you go to class, then this is an easy A. She goes over the material that will be on the exam the day before.
She is really nice and keeps the class interesting. She tells you exactly what is on the exams with no surprises. I actually enjoy going to her class!!
She helps alot, and gives you work for word defenitions for what you need to know. Tests aren't extremelly hard. Study and you will get an A.
Prof. Feather is pretty great. She's funny and kind of sarcastic sometimes but super easy to get along with. She uses a bunch of everyday scenarios to help you understand the topic she is discussing. Also she made her textbook into a half note book with note outlines. So all you do is write the definitions in. Makes tests much easier to study for!
Probably the most unorganized professors I have ever at WVU. She never knows where we are in the class and often repeats what she has taught us already. She is pretty much clueless with technology. The class is harder than what it should be too. She is however really nice which is good because it makes the class bearable.
Ms. Feather is a good professor. She relates what we're learing to real life scenarios which makes it easier to understand. She made the textbook with an outline of notes for us in the back. Make sure you buy the text. Overall good class. Should be an easy A or B. Students often disrespect her in class, but she is VERY nice & willing to help anytime
Love her!Make sure to buy the textbook, it has an outline for notes in the back which is how she does notes. Students are mean to her but she is the nicest person ever. She repeats things because she teaches a lot of classes here & its hard to remember where you left off in each class. Give her a break. Def reccommend her!
Terrible professor, rambles on about things that are not even closely related to what we are talking about, talks about her family too much and expects us to pay attention...Attendance is not mandatory, tests are terribly worded, was going to get a C in the class but failed final on purpose to retake class...got an A with a much better professor
Do not take this professor unless you like hearing someone ramble on and on and say "listen guys" a million times. I definitely failed her class because she was extremely unorganized and how no idea what she was doing and never told us when anything was due, we were just suppose to look online. Only good thing her quizes are all online.
Easy teacher if you go to her class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but bonus points are given once a week. Unorganized when it comes to her online assignments and isn't very good with technology. Overall, she's a really good teacher in her field and I would definitely recommend taking her. Make sure to get the book, all the nots are in there.
Super easy GEC if you go to class and take half decent notes. Tests are straightforward and material is straight from lecture. The book is a waste of money, don't buy it. Attendance is extra credit. She rambles a lot in lecture when she gives scenarios/examples. She is awful with technology. Overall, I def recommend her for soc 101.
Do not take her class.
I absolutely love Nancy Feather! She is a really great professor, explains things very well and relates them to real life, which makes everything easier to understand. Very helpful and kind, but sadly many people take advantage of that, which is disappointing. She knows a lot about sociology and I plan on taking another class with her next semester
Probably the easiest professor i have ever had. Just go to class and write down what she says and you will get a A.
The class and materials should be very easy, but she has nothing organized for lecture which makes it difficult. Very lazy- literally just reads to you out of the book. Quizzes have no set day to be opened and she closes them whenever she wants without telling you. Take anyone else if you can.
Very boring lectures are hard to pay attention too. She rambles a lot and tries to relate everything to her family even when its not relatable. Exams are very easy. Online assignments are not always opened when she says they will be and it takes forever to receive grades back. But on a good note she plays good music videos at the beginning of class
Never, NEVER stays on topic of the discussion. Says many offensive things. Gives attitude about meeting outside of class. Material is not hard, simply the way she words questions on exams. She adds copious background info and makes more than one of the answers a good choice for the question. Very easy HW. Truly question what the school pays her for
This is a very easy class, so it's still worth taking, but her lectures are terrible; they are boring and she rambles relentlessly. Her notes go straight through the textbook, so if she didn't take attendance you'd almost be better off teaching yourself. She is also somewhat rude and bad about telling you the wrong due date/ changing dates.
She seems like a very nice person and the material is remotely interesting, but it is a real struggle to attend. She reads the lecture out of the book and most of the information seems to be attacking men, (as a woman). She is funny and the class discussion is fun. Not a bad class, but you absolutely have to pay attention.
TERRIBLE.. And I mean TERRIBLE professor. She is so boring, she rambles all the time, and her tests are bull. The notes she gives you don't apply to her tests. DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. If you have her DROP.
Nancy Feathers seems like a nice lady but just annoyed the hell out of me. She always rambles and tell stories. Her class seems easy but the test are kind of hard. She gives you basic notes but need to put them into real life situation. I wouldnt take her again.
She is great and the class is cake. Attendance is only 20 points out of 400 so it's not a big deal if you miss class but I'd recommend going. On days before the exam, she tells you everything that will be on it. Buy the book! The notes are formatted in the back of it so it makes it easier. You only have to write one little paper. Great class.
I had her for SOCA 101 and she was so easy. talks and starts class with a music video and trys to joke. the day before the exam she goes through all the notes and tells you what you need. im not a soc major but shes great so i took her SOCA 221 class for another easy class and gpa booster.
She is an very easy teacher. All she does is sit in her chair but she gives you all the information that you need. I had her for SOCA 101 and the words were in the book and I just jotted them down and made flashcards. Class is way easier if you do that. The work is easy too!
Run and run fast!!! She is a terrible teacher. Her notes have nothing to do with her tests! The tests are opinion based so make sure you side with her when answering. She is constantly late and is very rude toward students. Just don't take her.
Extremely easy class. Yeah, the class is boring since you're just jotting down the definitions she gives you, however she tells you EXACTLY what will be on each exam. I got atleast a 95 on each exam which took me no longer than 10 minutes to finish. Good GPA booster.
She goes over your journal and covers all the words in class. Would sound easy, right? Except for the fact that she needs to tell you completely irrelevant stories about her life. Her tests are extremely opinionated and not only that, they are very very confusingly written. Would not recommend if you don't have good patience skills.
This class is definitely an easy A! However this professor is completely unorganized and you may find yourself wondering how she even became a professor. She is messy and does not know how to use powerpoint. She makes you buy a clicker only to use it for activity points at the very last minute of class. She is very forgetful.
Class was super easy, but she will be late often and come to class unorganized. Sometimes it would take her 5-10 minutes just to turn her computer on & put the Powerpoint up, and then she would forget to pull the screen down so she would be attempting to show us pictures that we couldn't even see.
Shes an awesome teacher, class was super easy. I do recommend getting the soft cover book.. makes taking notes way easier.. if you just go to her reviews before the tests, she will tell you every single thing that will be on the test.. such a easy class
She's definitely not the most put together professor. Most of the time talked about life stories. Exams will confuse you so make sure you read in the book. Attendance maybe once every two weeks randomly. Very hard to pay attention for long but very important you do.
Feather Is a great professor despite what people are saying. The class is extremely easy, study the notes and you'll do very well on the tests. I never got below a 90% on the tests. Honestly dont rememeber if we had to even buy the textbook but if we did, i barely used it.
Such a boring class! She was very unorganized and could barely keep her thoughts together. The only reason to come to class is for clicker points, but she gives enough extra credit opportunities to make up for missing a few times.
Very unorganized. Makes you buy the most expensive book, I just bought an earlier edition and it was $100 cheaper. Has you buy an iclicker to take attendance about 4 times a semester. Has you buy scantrons for 14 questions with short answers for the rest of the exams. She takes forever to give you grades. I waited a month for 1 exam grade.
She was an alright professor. Her class was easy, but she usually read to us out of the book. You had to take notes by listening also. So if you aren't an auditory learner, I would not suggest this class.
Nancy Feather's SOCA 101 class is one of the easiest class you will ever take at WVU. there are a few online home works that you will have to do, but other than that the grade is based on 4 exams. There is not a technical "final" you just have the 4th exam (non-cumulative) on your exam day.
Completely unorganized. I do not think she know how to use a computer let alone grade properly (I get 17/5 on 10 point assignments, still no explanation). She does not respond to emails in a timely manner, or at all, and class drags on. She does not put any notes up anywhere during class or after class, so retention is a struggle.
Her lectures are all over the place, but before every exam she goes over exactly what will be on the exam.
I don't even know how to explain Nancy Feather other than the fact that she is the most spaced out teacher ever. She broke down crying on multiple occasions, was always late, and even got sick and threw up one class. She's a sweetheart, but the class has ZERO consistency and she really just doesn't have the material together...
Class was boring, only went to get the notes and the tests were mostly just the notes.
Easy. Easy. Easy. Easy. Easy. If you take the 3-week summer class, you'll feel like you just stole 3 credits.
I love this class she makes me laugh every single class and she tries to relate to us
Easiest thing you will do in college is take her class. Buy the workbook she made for the class. You will learn more by looking up the definitions on your own than in class. Show up day before an exam and you will be fine, keep an eye on your syllabus sometimes she has a writing paper for you but not worth many points and LOVES student athletes
Always had great stories to tell with every concept she introduced. Hilarious and made lectures enjoyable. Read straight out of the book and posts notes on ecampus.
Gets off topic a lot but if you pay attention and write notes, you should be fine.
Nancy is a great teacher. She makes all the work very easy to understand and gives great stories and examples. Also, we watched two movies in her class that I thought were very good and entertaining. She goes over exactly what will be on the exam. Definitely buy the workbook!
Extremely unclear with grading criteria, lecture, notes, quizzes. Basically anything she says is a word puzzle. Not a bad person, just an awful Professor. Easy tests, but clicker points matter, so go to a majority of classes if you want an A.
She is super sweet. Literally everything she talks about word for word is on the tests. Just don't forget to take the quizzes the weekend of the exam. That's 20 pts you'll lose.
You don't need the textbook for her class. She's very friendly as long as you pay attention and respect. Her lectures are what is on the exam. She basically goes through each word in the textbook and defines it and gives examples that will be on the quizzes and exams. She uses iclickers and takes attendance twice a week.
Lectures are pretty boring, but if you show up and kind of listen, you should do well on the tests. She gets off topic a lot, and reads her lecture straight from the book, so you don 't really need to buy it. Overall, very easy A.
Great professor, highly recommend.
She is the worst professor i've ever had at WVU. She doesn't know the subject matter and she operates on 1950's values and stereotypes. When students made progressive comments, and other students responded vilely, she did nothing. She also espoused some pretty 1950's rules and gender roles. She doesn't understand the modern family at all. STAY AWAY
You don't necessarily HAVE to read the book. Everything she says in the lecture will be on the test. SO take notes of everything in the lectures and you're good. She rambles half her class, she's 15 minutes late to almost every class. Her grading of tests is kind of ridiculous and doesn't make sense. Basically he's easy but frustrating.
