She gives detailed notes and instructions so no surprises come test day. Tests returned promptly. Probably one of the smartest people on the planet. Practicals are no problem because she spends time in every lab to answer any questions about the models.
BEST TEACHER EVER! Makes a HARD HARD subject, understandable. She talks kinda fast, but she will repeat or slow down if you ask, its a lot to cover. She was very nice and the tests were not hard if you studied!
excellent. I had her for biology and a & p I. She gives you typed notes. If you study the notes, you will ace her tests. I wish I could take her through nursing school with me.
Prof Gartland has to be one of the smartest science teachers i've ever had the pleasure of listening to. She's also a really cool person outside of the BIO-111 class i took with her because she's real, and has a personality. Be careful, though, because she tends to be very sarcastic and "mean", but that's only if you say something stupid.
Highly recommended for a&p I
Prof Gartland has to be one of the smartest teachers on the planet!! You can ask her any question and if she doesn't know she will research the answer. She has a great personality and is very approachable. She honestly wants her students to succeed. Loved her and would definitly take her again if I had the choice!
Very enthusiastic and into what she's teaching.
The best professor ever! Gives outlines for every test (tells you what you need to know). Modifies her approach to accommodate the class. She does everything to help each person do the best they can. Highly approachable, empathetic, funny, & damn smart-yet oblivious to all she is. I've never learned more or earned better grades than in her class.
The Best teacher I've ever had!
I took this class prior to taking it again with Gartland, and I honestly wish I had her the first time around. I never learned so much from someone and actually enjoyed learning about the subject until i had her. She's funny, honest, and caring. the tests aren't hard if you study her notes and pay attention. Definately the best bio teacher I've had
Unapproachable, students teach themselves.Does not lecture accordingly with notes or book.Becomes irate when asked questions, intimidates students & is sarcastic.Does not review for tests which are fill in blanks, trick true&false.Encourages withdrawls instead of xtra credit.Prefers pets over people by her own admission.Nonprofessional, worst ever!!!
She is the best teacher I've ever had. I was never interested in Bio until I had her. She is very knowledgable and takes the time to make sure everyone understands. She can be straight forward but very approachable. She types all notes for you and the tests are directly from these notes. She is funny and caring. Seriously the best Bio teacher ever!
Gives notes and if you study like you should you will do well! Teaches very clear and knows EVERYTHING! Enthusiastic about teaching. Doesnt like people who fool around, but who does? Go to class, study, workhard, and put in effort and you can get an A! (I did) Great teacher!
She was a great professor! As long as you study her notes you will do awesome. She is by far the best professor I have had.
If you have family and work, do not take her because she does not curve your grade. You really need to memorize the material, her notes are a little helpful, but not sufficient to pass her exams. For lab exams she does not focus on just one part of the body, she is all over the place. This class works for someone who their only focus is school.
She hands out notes, which are great, but think twice before asking questions, as her sarcastic nature tends to make her respond to you in an patronizing or sarcastic manner - wonder if it's because she's so smart... maybe it's hard for her to come down to a student's level(?) Her interest & excitement for science & medicine is infectious, though!
Prof Gartland was an amazing professor; I took her for A&P I and II. She is demanding from day one, providing notes for the lectures up to the first exam. Her exams are straight from the notes. That said, when studying I found it was important not only to understand the concepts but understand how they are integrated and build upon one another.
Ok this professor is a no nonsense type. She knows her stuff and is very clear. Her tests weren't that hard but extensive and her essay questions are tough. DONT EVER interupt her or walk in late..she will make an embarrasment out of you. She can be a B*tch. But over all nice woman who wants to see students succeed but does favor students
I had bio 1 with her. Showing up to class and respect is a must, don't interupt her. Besides that, she is a great teacher! She provides her own set of notes for you so you which her tests are based off of. The only thing you need a book for is diagrams. She cares about how her students do in class. As long as you pay attention, she's easy!
Def the best teacher I ever had at CCC. She gives out her own notes which are EXTREMLY helpful & she goes over them during class which was even better. She always takes attendance -- If you arent the best test taker, def go to class, do the 2 lab reports & lab drawlings & you'll come out with a C. HIGHLY recommended. LOVED HER!! STUDY THE DIAGRAMS
Professor gartland was awesome! I didn't even really like bio before i took the class, but she makes it so interesting! It's not that easy of a class, but she gives you all the notes & makes everything really clear. Just pay attention & dont hand things in late, she really doesnt like it! But def the best ccc teacher yet!
Great professor. I had her when she was going through treatment for cancer and I still learned more with her than with any other professor I had at CCC (and she barely missed a class).Definetly a no bull s**t kind of teacher (always follow her rules and show up on time). Gives notes that correspond with the text and tests. Highly recommend.
I had her for Bio1 she was such a good teacher that I had her again for bio2. One of the few teachers at FCC who cares for there students. She doesn't take any bull.
I had her for A&P 1. She is probably one of the best professors and teachers i have ever had including high school. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help her students. Her tests come straight from her notes that she gives to you. If you fail her class its b/c you didn't study or prepare for her exam b/c its all right in the notes.
She is the best
I had her my first semester of my freshman year for Biology 1 and she made coming to class fun and interesting. She does not put up with and bull and she will help out anyone who is interested in her class. Her tests were average, and I got an A in the class because I studied the notes she gave out, not necessarily the book.
Overall a really good professor. A little tempermental, but she's awesome nonetheless.
Prof. Gartland is extremely nice, and made class fun. I took her A&P II class in the summer and I learned so much in her class. Tests are a little hard but I ended up with a B.
Had her for both A&P 1 and 2. One of the best professors I have ever had. She is very interested in her subject matter and brings her enthusasim to class. Cares deeply about students, and is accessible. A dedicated teacher. I highly recommend her.
Professer Gartland is one of the best teachers I've ever had! She knows what she's talking about and very helpful. The tests aren't too bad, but as long as you pay attention and study you should do fine.
Had her for A&P1 and now for A&P2. Love her. Fantastic teacher! Her enjoyment of life and science really reflects in her teaching and makes you want to learn more and come to class! If you have the chance, take her! She will make you work, but isn't that the point?
Great Professor! Very helpful and smart. She can be a little cranky in early morning classes but she is still very kind and her tests aren't too hard as long as you study often.
Best Science teacher I have ever had. Knows her stuff, teaches it well and does it with a positive attitude. She manages to keep classes interesting with both topic related stories and random facts. Labs are fun and classes are very interesting. You will have a smile on your face after every class. Guaranteed.
Terrible teacher, wouldn't recommend her. Has favorites which is made VERY obvious when you aren't one. She will get attitude with you if you are not. She withheld our tests for over a week until the last day to drop because someone asked what their grade was so they would know if they need to drop, somehow angering her. They were not a favorite.
i didnt love her but i would reccomend her. she was somewhat bipolar, somedays she would be nice and other days she would be evil. BUT she was a fair teacher. She gave out notes which is exactly where her tests come from. basically if you study & know the notes youll do well on the tests guaranteed. try to get on her good side, she has favorites.
Gartland is the BEST science teacher at CCC. i would recommend her to anybody! She's very personable and very helpful. her tests are easy as long as you study her notes and go for review. she highlights essay questions. Also had her for A&P I in the summer. Got an A in that too.
I honestly could have created a better Bio teacher if I tried. She is absolutely AMAZING. Take her!! She is so helpful and smart and you will learn sooo much! She teaches at Penn too! Gives notes, 4 tests, labs/papers/projects genuinely help your grade. Didn't use book too much, just for looking at diagrams really.
She is awesome! I just took her for the 5 week summer session and even though it is fast paced, she is so helpful. She emails the notes to you and that is exactly all the information on the test. You have to put alot of time into studying. She is also interesting and tells lots of stories. Take her class!
Would definitely recommend her! Very nice as long as you show her respect. She emails you the notes for every chapter,if you study those and the diagrams you'll do fine on the exams. Her class isn't the most difficult but isn't the easiest either, but as long as you try you'll get a good grade. Overall a great teacher as long as your not a slacker!
She is very interresting to listen to knows alot but the class is very difficult managed to get a C but shes feels she knows everything and if you ask her questions and you are not a favorite she will blow you off sort of say kinda belittle you.
Great Professor!! Extremely knowledgable, personable, and fair. E-mails you the notes for each chapter and as long as you study, you'll do fine. Took her for A&P 1 and 2 in 5-week summer sessions and wish I would've taken her for Bio
Fantastic teacher. One of the best at the school. She clearly explains the subject matter and she is highly knowledgable in her field. Very fair, and consistent. Very engaging as well. However, she will give you attitude if you do not meet her expectations. Sometimes she can be a real "female dog" at times. but it doesn't interfere with her grades.
Awesome Teacher!! Would definetely recommend her. As long as you study and pay attention you will do fine. Test come from notes and she try to give you as much extra credit as possible. All lab exercises are EC. Overall she is great!
Dr. Gartland was a great A&P1 teacher. She emailed notes for each chapter & labs were extra credit. She also let you know what would be on the exam or practical. You could ask her any question and she would answer you as long as she wasn't repeating herself. As long as you study and read the notes, you will do great!
I found Prof. Gartland to be the best instructor I've had yet. She isn't one of those teachers who just reads off the powerpoints; she simplifies the material and gives you notes with what she wants you to learn. Her exams are easy if you learn her notes and add on your own from the lectures (usually turns out to be the essay q's). Recommended!
She was a great teacher, offered extra help whenever she had the chance. not the easiest class but she did her best to help the class understand the material. If you can, try to get in this class!!
If you are a young virile male or a student willing to stroke Gartland's strong ego, you will do well. It should be understood that she desires to be on a pedestal for her subject knowledge. Gartland offers many convincing examples of her superior thought processes. She is congenial and helpful to those she favors.
She is very intelligent and sometimes can make others feel insecure if they are not on her level.. however, I don't think she means to do so. She is a nice person and wants students to LEARN the material. She is very visual, and explained hard topics very well using pictures and charts. This is a hard class in general, so hard work must be put in
She is a very passionate person when it comes to her subject. She knows what she is doing and she wants to get her students to understand. 4 tests, information literacy, 2 formal labs, and about 6 small labs. Very fair and very instructional
As a college grad, I've experienced many professors. Gartland is on my top 3 favorites. She made me feel passionate about bio, and consequently, I did very well because I was eager to learn (made me feel motivated leaving her class). As long as you read, you will do well on her exams. I will be taking her for A&P too.
Prof garland is great. She provides notes on each chapter and what you need to know for lab practicals, basically giving you everything you need to know for tests (which are a little difficult if you don't study enough.) She's also hilarious and extremely nice and accommodating. Loved.
prof. Gart. obviously knows alot but stinks as teacher. Its like 4 her everyone comes in knowing material. gets attitude when asked to exp. or repeat.all is off power points, but you must find all info in book.not bad,til chapt.skipping begins.dont take word on test material. she gives no revues except on final.4 tests all yr, dont get 1 bad grade!?
wonderful teacher, she really knows her stuff and do not be intimidated, ASK QUESTIONS! but be clear about what you are asking for, her tests are hard but she provides you with notes she makes herself and if it's not in the notes it's not on the test, as long as you study the notes, read the chapter, and attend class you'll succeed!
LOVED HER WISH I COULD BRING HER WITH ME AFTER I TRANSFER LOL
There isn't enough space here to write an adequate review. If you're looking at A/P I or II, go out of your way to make sure you're in her class. Her class is packed with information, she moves quickly, and comes off a little intimidating at first, but as an instructor, she will match the effort you show as a student. FOLLOW HER NOTES CLOSELY.
Dr. Gartland is a great teacher to have! Making a difficult subject easy to understand. Was patients and understanding to er students needs. Dr. Gartland believes that a student should work hard and earn the grade that they get. Lectures are clear and to the point, making sure that any questions on the material are answered. Will take her again
Professor Gartland is by far the best teacher I've ever had at county. She is intimidating at first but once you know how she runs her class it is great. She teaches the material so that you actually have an understanding of what your learning, youre not just memorizing. Study her notes and you'll do great. I would highly highly recommend her class
Gartland is my favorite teacher on campus, hands down. Her knowledge on the subject matter is fascinating and made me look forward to class every week. You do have to study a few times a week to expect above a B in the class, because science is not an easy subject, so study the notes she gives you whenever you can and you'll be fine.
She is a super sassy lady with a super big heart. I am a little bit obsessed with her!! I am so glad to have her for two semesters in a row. I've never met someone who knows the material as well as she does. She's brilliant and she really cares. She is crystal clear with expectations and counts labs as extra credit! She's my favorite!!
She is amazing! Had her for BIO , AP 1, and I'm taking her again next semester for AP 2! Extremely knowledge professor. She really cares about her students that are putting in the effort. She makes a difficult course not so difficult!
Wonderful professor!! Loves her job and loves teaching.
Mrs.Gartland teaches her class at a fast, clear, concise way. She makes concepts clear and will review a lot for the test and for difficult concepts. I did have a problem with her attitude though especially when you ask her a question about the practical part of the class. She has also snapped at students and raised her voice at students.
Professor Gartland is one of the few exceptional professors I have had in my long drawn out academic career. her knowledge of A&P is pretty thorough, she is very well versed in histology. Her teaching is clear and concise. The tests are thoughtfully structured and usually worded well. I highly recommend this professor.
Prof Gartland is amazing. She is very honest and wants the best for her students. Her tests are her notes. She is very clear about her practicals. She comes off a bit hard, but her bark is bigger than her bite. I would highly recommend her class. As long as you study a little bit every night and come to class prepared you should get an A.
Loved, lovde, loved Professor Gartland! She is aware that the course is not the easiest to learn and does everything to help make it more understandable to the average person. She will match your effort if you have the desire to get a good grade. I recommend the class. Make sure you read her notes!!! Everything on the test comes from the notes!
This professor is one of a kind. Requires work and works hard for you. Reviews information related to the class from chemistry to make sure that you are up to speed. Professor Gartland doesn't hold your hand but makes sure you understand the material. I am so glad to have been in her class, especially for a 5 week summer course.
Best professor I have Eve met my entire time I have been in college and I already have a bachelor's degrees. She is caring helpful and so smart. Her stories keep class flowing and keeps your mind aware. This is a hard class with lots of work and memorizing but she makes it easy. I failed her 1st examine and still got a B she is great
Such an amazing teacher. Am taking again next semester. She gives all the notes in a pretyped handout. Just memorize the notes and you're solid. Plus shes this sweet motherly lady and very sweet.
AMAZING! yes she does give out packets of notes but if you know the few pages for the test and pay attentions to her huge hints to whats going to be an essay question you will do great!! I would take her again in a heartbeat!
Professor Gartland is an amazing professor and with the subject as complicated as A&P I she makes it clear and goes over lectures until the class understands. She definitely obliges to school rules in the lab, so make sure you leave your bottled drinks at the door. She is very friendly, caring, and approachable. I highly recommend her.
I found Professor Gartland to be good, about average when compared to my other instructors. I would take her again.
She is a great teacher. She was always helpful. Ready to explain the material a 100 times. Answers all the questions. Also, she is very fair to everyone. I would definitely recommend her.
An excellent teacher, though sometimes irritable or short tempered. If she seems hard on you, speak to her openly and she will be clear about the problem and work it out with you. She wants you to succeed. She is excellent at explaining concepts (a rare trait in a science professor) and explains in a way that sticks.
This class was great! She makes the material easy to understand and always offers extra assistance when asked for. The tests are really not that difficult--as long as you go through the outlined notes she passes out. Labs are very simple. As long as you study and make an effort the class will go very smoothly. And her grading system is very simple.
Anatomy by means is not an easy subject but if you were blessed by getting this professor, you're set. Gives a packet of notes which includes everything you need to know for exams. Always willing to help, but easily irritated when students don't pay attention. Wonderful, intelligent woman. Would recommend to her to anyone!
Professor Gartland is the best professor I have EVER had. After I had her for biology I, I rearranged my schedule to make sure I got her for A&P I and A&P II. She has made my college experience so pleasant.
A&P is a class where you don't need a great teacher to succeed, as a lot of it is memorization. That being said, to have a teacher like Prof. Gartland absolutely gives you an edge up. Incredibly intelligent, gives great real life examples to relate the material, gives packs of info to know for exams. Take her & put the studying in, you'll get an A.
Take her if you really want to learn! She is very good teacher. Take it seriously and you will get what you put into it.
She's a great professor, my mistake was taking this course in 5 weeks after just finishing A+P I in 5 weeks. She's got a good sense of humor, and she is willing to help you if you ask. Its a hard subject to begin with, but her practicals are very specific and her exams are tough. I would take her again.
I just finished A&P 1 and 2 with Professor Gartland. She is phenomenal, not only does she know the material very well but she actively enjoys it and it shows. Very willing to help students and her tests are not easy, they're far from difficult if you prepare. Don't be that person that takes forever during practicals though, no one likes that person
Phenomenal and incredibly intelligent teacher. The class is not easy; there is a lot to remember and the topics are in-depth. She explains hard subjects in a way you can understand. Attendance is not mandatory, bur you will NOT do well if you miss a lot of class. She always takes time to answer her students' questions. Best BIO teacher EVER!
By far the best Biology teacher at CCC! I took her for A&P2 in the summer for 5 weeks and lemme tell you, she is a master in her field. She cares so much about the students and she is so nice! Do the labs for extra credit!!!! Practicals are straight forward and so are the tests. Study and you'll do fine.
Took Dr. Gartland for the A&P II 5 week session. Honestly, I did not open the text very often-only to research a few homeostatic imbalances not explained in the notes. Her notes are amazing and lectures are on point. If you don't understand, ask her! However, be specific or she won't know what you need help with.
This professor is very passionate about what she teaches. Some days she was funny and in a good mood and fun to listen to, other days she might snap on a student or make them feel like a bother for asking a question at least that's how I felt. Tests were hard and she doesn't give many specifics as to what is even on the test
I used to hate Bio with a passion. I had to take AP2 for my HIM classes. I loved Prof. Gartland and I ended up loving the class. The material is tough, but she made it so interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, but everything that is on the exams she goes over in class. She evens hints at what might be essay questions. Great teacher!
She is a very passionate teacher and she knows her stuff - but she can be very rude at times and goes thru lectures quite quickly - record and replay her lectures - also - she is very DETAILED in her exams. Study and study and study some more and u should do well
Nancy is great. She talks real fast but you can ask her to slow down and repeat anything you missed. She will help you with anything you don't understand. I've heard people say she's intimidating but she was always really nice and seemed very caring to her students. Just make sure to study the hand outs and use lab time wisely.
I came back to this website for nursing students everywhere. I am now enrolled in nursing school after graduating CCC. Gartland is the real deal. Nursing school exams are just like her exams -- minus the simple multiple choice questions. It's all about applying information and less about memorization. Take her if you are a pre-nursing student.
Professor Gartland was hands down the BEST professor I've ever had in my college education. She is beyond smart, knows her stuff, and truly cares about her students. . I retained SO much knowledge from her class and I would highly recommend taking her in any subject. She's amazing!
Amazing professor. Really knows what she's talking about and explains it very well. She also gives you outlines for each chapter so you know exactly what you will be tested on. Extra credit is available for every exam. Definitely take her class if you have the chance.
I made the mistake of taking a different teacher for A&P 1 and didn't do very well. I took Prof. Gartland for A&P 2 and got an A. Her methods are tried and true. She makes the subject matter interesting and gives you clear cut information on what you will be tested on. I lover her so much I'm retaking A&P 1 with her this semester!
I like her class because she outlines the notes and doesnt just read off power points. But, personality wise - one minute shes in a great mood and the next she loses her mind on a student. She makes u feel self conscious about asking questions, as if ur a bother. She has had me on the verge of tears bc of how she responds when I ask questions
Only graded on tests and labs( extra credit). You only have 4 chances to get your grade. Make it count. Love Nance, she's an Italian spitfire for sure!
she is a good teacher
A professor that wants you to truly learn something. Very knowledgeable. Explains the material clearly, but you are responsible for learning it. If you make an effort, you will surely succeed. She is a bit sassy, but its nothing crazy and she apologizes if she feels out of line. The best professor at Ccc, in my opinion.
She is a wonderful professor and woman. Very kind and caring. Answers emails within a day or two. She can sometimes seem snippy but we all get like that. Read her note packets over & over. Anatomy is pure memorization and she packages everything that is NEED TO KNOW. Only complaint is that her class only has 4 tests, so 4 grading opportunities.
Amazing professor, she is sooooo intelligent its unbelievable. Great class but really hard material like any A+P class. Only thing i would say is that she only gives 4 tests so theres not enough graded assignments to keep your grade up throughout the semester.
SHE IS AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! WORKS WITH YOU AND WANTS TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL, COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER PROFESSOR TO TEACH ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY I AND II. TOOK BOTH CLASS WITH HER AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I'VE MADE. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER.
Dr. Gartland is an amazing instructor! She goes in depth and includes real world examples, applicable to anatomy and physiology beyond what the book provides! I am a career changer and worked hard for an A. She made me study, but it was truly worth it. I was eager to go to class because I learned something new every day. Register early! Worth it!!
I had Mrs. Gartland for A&P 1 and loved her so much I made sure to take her for A&P 2 and I recommend her to everyone. Her lectures are engaging and she gives you the notes for each chapter. She is a stickler for the rules in lab. Don't come to class in shorts or open toed shoes.
great professor! aim high for all test, participate, read, important you pay attention
I had Professor Gartland for both A&P 1 and 2 and with this being my first time back in school in about 8 years and a career changer, she grabbed my attention and made me fall in love with the subject! I couldn't wait to go to class and hear more of the lecture. She is so knowledgeable in the subject and keeps everything interesting. Loved her!!
Shes a great professor that cares for her students I just wish she was a little nicer. She would always randomly flip out on students for really little things.
Im a bio major & never had a class ask for so much that was simply unnecessary. I completed micro, bio 1&2, a&p 1&2, & chemistry. Im an A student in calculus & completed physics 1, & 5 classes from grad, be prepared for 4 essays, 20 fill in blanks, 20 t/f 1 out of 4 options, & 10 quest that get to the point, & turn in every lab. My advice run.
She was a very very good professor, she was great with lecturing exactly what you need to know for her exams. although you only have about four exams in the class but your only grades are those tests. She has attitude and sometimes comes off as aggressive but overall she is a super nice professor, and i would take her again.
I wish every professor was like her. I got a 58 on the first test, she met with me privately and worked with me to help me get my grade up. She is wonderful and willing to go the extra mile if you talk with her.
Professor Gartland was absolutely AMAZING. She is very fair, her lectures Reflect was is on her tests. You need to study hard! I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Amazing professor had her for A&P I and II! Study your notes and come to class!!! She is amazing and she definitely cares about the students and the coursework!!
If you want to get the most out of A&P as possible and are willing to put in the study hours, you would be hard pressed to find a better teacher. She is extremely organized. Everything you need is on her handouts and ppts. 4 tests only (mostly m.c., some t/f, 2-3 short 6-7pt essays). She wants you to succeed. Liked her so much, took her for A&P2.
One of the worst professors I have had so far. Really difficult tests. Not enough time to read questions let alone answer them. Her lectures dont even explain anything. Dont recommend taking her.
I had Gartland for A&P I and II. I had her in person my first semester and online my second. She only gives 4 exams so if you do poorly on them, you will have a poor grade at the end. They're long and hard. Not enough time nor good studying material. I would study and know everything in her chapter packets and still almost fail her tests.
Her lecture videos are based on her notes that she reads off of. Her tests are heavy and have 2-3 essay questions along with her 30-50 multiple choice questions to finish in a span of 1 hr.
As a professor she has failed to set and maintain clear expectations for her students. Her once a week zoom meetings are less than engaging and repeats whats already in the voice over PowerPoint slides. Her tests do not accurately represent the materials given as study aides. She is unempathetic, and rude. Dont walk away from this professor run
If you have absolutely no other responsibilities in life, you might stand a chance with this professor. Be prepared for 30 seconds to answer a question, essays on every exam, and absolutely no response to any questions. Only graded for exams and lab practical's, and regardless of how well you score, your canvas grade will always plummet. Run away.
This has been one of the hardest classes I have taken. The professor is not approachable. If you ask her a question she acts like your bothering her with her response! I would not recommend anyone take her for A&P II!!!
This has been the worst experience of my life this semester. Professor only gives you literally a few seconds to answer each question during her exams. She doesnt give out enough time. Shes very sarcastic, So If you need to take AP2, my advice to you is to run away from this direction because you will fall into a depression quick in this class.
This professor is horrible, she have no compassion what so ever. Were in a middle of pandemic she could care less, shell tress you out with her exam cause she gives you 0.5 sec to think of an answer for her quiz. Oh btw get ready to teach yourself her material. If you care for your mental health Please do urself a favor RUN and dont look back.
Do not take this class if it is online!!
You have no time to answer all questions on the exam. You have 65-70 minutes to answer 60-65 multiple choice questions and then wants you to write to fully formed almost essay like answers to 2 open- ended questions for every test. She does not give you enough time. I study all the time and still struggle to make the time limit. Not many grades
Do no take !
Terrible!!!! No time to take her exams because she gives less than a minute to complete one question. I wish I would have withdrawn when I could!!! Online with her is the worst. And dont send her emails because she will respond back with a nasty sarcastic response.
Upfront she appears to be a very difficult teacher, but when you put in the work that is necessary for each exam the class is great. She always does her best to answer any and all questions in regards to the lectures, and is more than willing to help overlook your quizlets or notecards to make sure you have the best studying material.
I had Professor Gartland for both 211 and 212. She's absolutely amazing! For every chapter, she gives you a packet full of the information you need. The lab packets she grades for extra credit, but don't skip them! They're great study tools for lab practicals for exams.
This is your sign to not take this class online. Do yourself a favor, don't be like me who didn't listen to the person who said "DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS"
Dr. G's class wasn't the easiest, but having a background in veterinary medicine helped a little when it came to the anatomy portion of the class. She responded promptly & gave great feedback if you go to her weekly zoom meetings (optional). A ton of helpful in-depth voiceover lectures & notes!! Home dissections are mandatory. Caring professor.
The class itself is incredibly detailed but the lectures are hard to follow along as they were not properly formatted where you can pause them. The grade in the class is heavily dependent on 4 exams, all of which are extremely hard and there is not enough time to complete them all before time is up. I would not recommend this course for online.
Dr. Gartland was one of the best professors I have ever had here at CCC. She explains all of the material so well and makes sure you understand the material before leaving the classroom. She is also very funny, I found myself looking forward to going to class. I wish I had her for BIO-118 as well. She is a great professor, she makes A&P fun!
I took A&P 1 and 2 with Dr. Gartland. She's very clear with her instructions and what she expected of you to pass in class. Her notes for each chapters were very well organized with voiceover powerpoint lectures and study guide notes. Read both the lectures and study guide notes if you want to pass.
Very arrogant. stay away even if you have no choice, wait another semester but do not take it with her if you want a better future.
Professor G's class was challenging, but using unstuck AI alongside the textbook helped me stay on top of the material. Mandatory attendance and exams with tight time limits, but she provides detailed feedback.
Very good prof gives good notes and feedback on how you can do better. If it wasn't taken hybrid I would have done better personally. Gives extra credit. Only 4 exams though so hard to come back from if you don't do well with exams.
The professor was very condescending and rude with her tone. Instructions were not clear.
