very cool teacher. She is so easy to pay attention to because she is so energetic. She actually likes all input from students and lets every student get their opinion out. She is the best teacher that I have had so far.

Very easy teacher. I did not study for tests and did well. Had a few papers that are easy. If you have a good grade, then you do not have to take the final. Final is not comprehensive.

She always tries to incorporate the students in her lecture so we could comprehend the stuff she is lecturing about. the class was fun to attend. tests required a little bit of studying but u didnt have to hardcore study to get a good grade. overall, i reccommend her to everyone!

Good teacher! Very enthusiastic and committed to the subject. Tests based mostly on lecture. She uses too many slides and pretty much repeats everything the book says with hardly any new input, so reading the book isn't necessary. Tests are easy if you pay attention to lecture. Attendance is a must.

Really good professor, knows her stuff! She is definitely passionate about the subject. If you study it is an easy A. You don't have to take the final if your happy with your grade. There are writing assignment but you drops the lowest one. She will help you out any way she can! Take her!

She is a great teacher. She is tough but very kind and understanding. She turns every class into a discussion and values all opinions. I would recommend her to anyone both sociology majors and anyone needing to fill up their schedule. I enjoyed going to class everyday.

This class felt far too easy to be a college course. The teacher is nice and has some good insights about parenting but if you're actually looking to learn something new or want to challenge yourself, I would not recommend it.

Fantastic teacher. Passionate about teaching which makes classes very fun, does not use blackboard and expects you to use the textbook. If you show up to class and study your notes religiously, you will pass easily. Would recommend to anyone needing Soc.

She is a great teacher. She is very understanding. She could be tough but I think that's what make her class great. She is laid back but not to the point where she would allow you to slack off. I would have done better if I was a good test taker. I would recommend her for good test take, you wouldn't need to attend class but it'll really help.

I took this class for personal interest and it was decent. For me, an easy A. 4 easy short essays, exams based on lectures and book. To get an A on an exam you have to read the book. I don't read the book and get B's on exams. Lectures are "duh", repetitive, common sense. Sometimes interesting. Ms. G is very in-your-face and loud.

Easy class. Very repetitive. Ms. G makes herself very available to help or answer questions. Ms. G is not very nice, she's very quick to chastise you like a child at anytime. Seen MANY students in my class yelled at and embarassed for silly things. I myself, an A student with good attendance, was yelled at for holding my phone on the way out.

Mrs. G is a great teacher! She is very passionate and makes it clear that the subject matter can be dark at times (child abuse/neglect), but talks us through it. Notes are better than the book, but the book is still helpful if you're absent. Relates subject to her own family, values our stories/input as well.

Mixed feelings. Her lectures, homework, and class participation are a breeze. Although, her tests are over complicated. She takes her class very seriously, often treating students like children. If you like to use the bathroom during class or come in late or leave early do not take this class; she will make an example of you.

Couldnt agree more with previous comment. Mixed feelings. Very oganised, you will always know what to expect which helps you do well. very thorough and helpful, but you will feel humiliated if you get up to leave class. You would not think she was teaching adults.

Good, funny teacher. Laid back, but will quickly call out any talking or packing up early. Class is really easy, but what do you expect from a SOC1A class? Her lectures cover almost everything you're tested on... I'm sure you could get by with minimal to no book use. Attendance is mandatory, with a few absences permitted.

My favorite teacher so far! Miss G makes class notes interesting through lecture, attendance is mandatory but i don't mind because i like her class. This is my second semester with her and the only thing i advise is do not use your phone in class! you will be asked to leave. Her class is easy as long as you show up, pay attention, and take notes.

I've had Ms G for two semesters, I took her Soc 1A class in the fall and it was a breeze. The notes you take in class are exactly what you'll see on the test. Don't really need the book everything is in the notes. DON'T TRY TEXTING! Great class discussions. She's a great teacher

Great teacher! She makes class really interesting and keeps your attention. Hates phones and side talking so just stay involved in the class. Tests were a little hard, just read the book. There was a medium amount of work but never too hard. Learned a lot!

Hands down one of the best teachers I have ever had. I have taken two classes with Mrs.G,she is a little strict but in a good way because I took so much from it and applied it to all of my classes. She is passionate about her job and loves her students. She makes understanding the course easy and engaging. She's young and very knowledgeable.

This class is amazing. Ms. G gives really good lectures, and time passes by fast. She takes away the lowest writing assignment and the lowest exam. The exams are easy if you study. Because I did really good on all my exams, I didn't have to take the final. Participation counts and helps your grade. I got an A in that class. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!

She's great, she loves putting her real life situations during her lessons; which makes it great because you understand more and you get to know more about her. She's amazing. She gives pop quizzes that are open note, so always have your notes and come to class because she never tells you when the quizzes are. The book is useful for test (reading).

She is a great teacher but she talks ALOT. Ive been in honors classes since elementary school and perhaps thats why im not a big fan of her but she is easy and you would have to truly be an idiot to not pass her class. Just be prepared for ALOT of talking and make sure to read the chapters. You will regret it if you dont.

Nancy is a great sociology teacher. Tests are fairly easy if you put in the time to study your in-class notes. READ THE BOOK if you want an A in the class. Many examples come from the book that are on the test and 80% of the rest are your in-classs notes. If you like allot of examples in lecture she is the right teacher for you. Can't go wrong!

She's a very smart dedicated to her subject professor and you should be ready to be a dedicated student. Don't be lazy and you'll do great! As a bonus she's a very attractive woman, I found it hard to concentrate at times.

She made soc not only interesting to learn but she made it comprehensible. Her class was not hard to pass. I never studied for her tests but somehow never got a lower grade than one C. She drops your lowest test grade and lowest essay grade. Helped tremendously. We were always laughing and learning in her class which makes the time go by easier.

She gives you 4 writing exams and 4 exams. Lowest score in your paper will get dropped, she doesn't believe in "finals" so she calls it exam #4. Her exams are 25 multiple choice, 15 true or false, if false you write why and 5 fill in the blank. Loved her class, would take again but just needed for my general aid.

Super nice and easy to pass. Doesn't let you use phones, not a big deal. The class was a little boring at times but she definitely trys to make it as interesting as possible. STUDY NOTES BEFORE TEST. Not a ton of work, and what is assigned isn't difficult. Highly recommend her class.

She is a great teacher. You have 4 exams and 4 papers and she drops your lowest score on both(includes final). Final is not cumulative and she gives a studyguide for each test. Take nots on lecture because you can use them on pop quizzes. As long as you come to class and do the work its a easy A.

Mrs. Gutierrez is one of the best teachers I have ever encountered at the school. She is the one that Open my opinion on sociology and because of that I am a sociology major. She is downright amazing. As long as you pay attention and you are respectful to her and the students in the class you are guaranteed to pass.

Her class is very interesting. She relates a lot of the criteria to her own life to the make it easier for us to relate. I did not use the book at all even though you're suppose to be reading the chapters. She is very clear how she likes things and is always willing to help you.

Nancy is an incredible professor that really dives deep into her lectures so her students can truly understand sociology. I come to her for guidance and just for general conversations because she has a genuinely kind and caring approach. At first, when you read her syllabus you'll want to drop but don't! She is a really easy professor and grader.

I took her class fall of 2019 and she's an amazing professor. She's clear on her criteria for the class, attendance is mandatory and she does not accept late assignments. I did all the essays and quizzes and ended the class with an A. I would recommend her as a teacher, her lectures were also really insightful and actually interesting.

I took this class during covid and at first I attempted to skip the video lectures and cheat, that didn't workout since the questions are tailored to the lecture. That being said the quiz follow the lectures slides to a T and involve 3 questions while exams are about 50 give or take. Don't cheat and the class will be an easy A. Would take again.

A solid class, but if you don't watch the lectures then it will be very hard to pass the test which account for a large portion of your grade.

Professor Sauceda was one of my favorite professor during my time at Fresno City College!! The material was always very interesting and accessible, and her lectures made it even more so. She is also very caring and does a lot for her students. Would 100% recommend!

She is the nicest professor I've had. Her lectures are so easy to understand and she gives good examples which helped me understand the material so much. Her quizzes are based off the lectures so as long as you take notes you'll be good.

Mrs. G is one of the best professors ever. She never gave out any homework and made her lectures fun. She even memorizes everyones names and is very inclusive. She super sweet too, just don't have your phone out. I really enjoyed having her this semester. Also, her tests aren't too hard as long as you study for at LEAST an hour or so.

Professor Gutierrez has amazing lectures, they would keep me engaged throughout the class which is very good considering exams are based off what we learn in lecture. She has an amazing sense of humor and engages with students throughout lectures. She is very fair and caring, if you have the chance take her class.

Professor Gutierrez is one of the best professors at Fresno City. Her class was always fun and entertaining. I highly suggest that you take a couple of hours each day to fully prepare for the exams but other than that the class will go by super fast.

I am still taking Ms. G class passing with an A. I love her class she's my favorite professor. She is strict but as long as you show up, & do the work Then she will work with you. Some advice I can give is her when studying for her exams use your notes & turn them into flash cards.

She is very understanding and caring. Her class is very easy if you attend the class and also take notes you are sure to pass. Her exams match the units you work on and also her notes are basic what going to be on the test. The notes are fill in blanks. I would definitely take her again if I could.

Super understandable, she drops an exam by the end of the semester and grades on a curve. Simple, concise lectures and quizzes include direct multiple choice questions from them. Would do it again, she tells the best stories (in relation to the topics we are learning).

I took Mrs. Nancy G's class after a 14 year hiatus. She is easy to communicate with and she constantly reminds students to swing by her office to discuss their grades. During the lecture she gives you the answers to the tests via printouts, the trick is you have to show up to class. I can tell she loves her job and is passionate to teach.

She's a very easy teacher, all her lectures are somewhat enjoyable and she's very clear on how you can get a good grade.

Ms. G is AMAZING! Her passion for teaching and engagement is apparent. She has an open door if you should need anything, she is a great supporter. There is no reason not to do great in her class if you do the work. The only thing is in-class Essays — there are TWO during the semester, NOT difficult, but hard if you struggle with writing.

This was the best class ever! The professor makes the lectures enjoyable, incorporates activities, and is so funny! She was always there to help, made time to schedule more meetings with her students, and provided us with direct feedback for essays and exams. The only thing that was a little difficult was figuring out what to study for Exam 1.

Two essays, but super easy you get to use your notes for those. Participation matters! Such an easy A, makes notes fill in style, so you don't have to rush to jot things down.

One of my favorite professor! no homework, 1 paper, 4 test she drops the lowest one and fill in the blank notes.Class was easy as long as you attend. There is a textbook but I never used it. She has a strick no phone policy but other than that you can tell she really cares and her student to succeed. She even bumped my grade from a 88% to a 90%!
