She is forgetful in asking for homework, etc... and put in questions on the tests I had never seen in the homework. Math is easy for me, but someone who has a hard time could struggle with her teaching.
She's a very good teacher, but not much of a challenge. if you are good at math, you may want to choose someone else. She reminds me of joan cusack.

I've had Prof. Johnson for two semesters. I chose her the second time because I was already familiar with her teaching style. She regularly goes over homework in class, its up to you to complete it and ask ??'s if you have any. Requirements are based on majors so I suggest you check your catalog.

No, Dr. Johnson doesn't collect homework. She only wants her students to do enough of it to understand the subject. It's this more open-ended style that makes her a great professor. Look for her name if you're looking for an easier math course. HIGHLY recommended
Pretty easy class, a review of pretty basic mathematics like percents - she contradicts herself sometime though - especially about the final project & notebook she was VERY unclear.

I can't describe this teacher without using foul language!!!! She doesn't even take time to help students who go to her office to ask questions. AVOID HER. I swear she has horns on the top of her head and a pitchfork in her hands like a devil. She should quit teaching-if you haven't noticed teachers are supposed to HELP students. Avoid her!!

johnson isnt that bad. she answers all questions and i frequently see her at student's desks helping... you just have to ask. she teaches different ways to solve problems to accomodate different learning styles. LibArts subject matter isn't necessarily fun regardless of who teaches it. if i can get an A, anybody can.

Ms. Johncon is ver nice. Her teaching style is a bit unclear and confussing. SHe assumes you know a lot more than you probobly do. As long as you show up to her class and pay some what sttention you should do fine. Oh, and don't be scared she doesn't really make sure you did all your homework... just enough to get by.

Lib Arts subject matter is dry, but Ms. Johnson was helpful and easy going (just make sure to turn off your cell phone or the dark side will come out!) i did minimal studying and virtually no homework, and got an A from basically just paying attention in class. if u show up and take notes and ask questions when u need to, you'll do fine.

I purposely took Prof. Johnson for 1107, after having her for 1106. I LOVE her. She is extremely helpful. For those who don't think so, maybe you are the ones in the back of the room who won't SHUT UP during class!!! I enjoyed her enthusiasm.
Do not take this online. You only have two days to drop without paying for the class. She will give you wrong dates for exams and deadlines. The review had wrong answers on it and the school does not care.
Did not like Mrs. Johnson at all. I am a very good student and my honest opinion is that she was very confusing. She is not enthusiastic at ALL about what she teaches and seems very biased in her opinion of students. She also made a lot of students feel dumb. I would not take her again!

I liked Johnson. She's the only math teacher I've ever had at the college level who didn't just leave me behind if I didn't understand what was being said.

I took distance learning. It was nice because the computer taught us, rather than a teacher. The computer has been the best teacher I've had to date. She was a nice person, but I totally didn't understand her during review sessions. I say take her if she is offering distance learning, because the computer is a good teacher. She is not.
I hated having her as a prof. She was very unclear about things. Not to mention the fact that she was always marking my answers wrong that I ended up proving to her were actually right! She was no help to me at all with learning the material and when I went to her about it she did not seem to care and did nothing to help me. Dont take her!

I had a terrible semester with her teaching. She played trick on my friends, not friendly at all. If you wish to have a nightmare and bad grade, take her class.
I took her blended class and it was very difficult. The on-line lectures were a little different than what she explains. So, there can be confusion. Use all resources she gives to study and you'll do fine. She's tough but will explain this very thoroughly if you need.

A decent Topics in Math teacher. But some of the in-class activities get pretty tricky. Some of the subjects in the class are really easy though.
It was an online class so you have to be very self motivated and not get behind. She was helpful if I had questions and I enjoyed her. This was a short 6 week summer session and there were only 2 of us that finished the class. I recommend taking it over a 12 or 16 week semester.
I took Topics in Math as a Dual Enrollment class and loved having Professor Johnson. I'm terrible at math but she was very helpful. Answers everyone's questions and doesn't leave anyone behind. Spices up class with fun little projects that enhance learning. Very very nice lady! I wish every math teacher could be more like her.
AAAHHHHHHHHHHH, not a good idea, Johnson=loco. has favorite's. If your confused she becomes upset and irritated at you and assumes your just not trying.

She has faverites that is why some people really liked her even though they can see her teaching style is horrid. She hates our class and is trying to get us to drop out by making us feel stupid. I wish I could drop the class but I cant. Normally I would wait until after the semester to rate a teacher but I want to warn as many as possible.
HORRIBLE TEACHER! More than 50% of the class failed the 1st test, and several ppl in the class ended up dropping. She grades hard and is does not teach.
This instructor brings her personal life into the class. Don't care about your husband, Ms. Johnson. Personality like a ROCK... don't take any clases with this character..
One of the worst professors I have ever had. STAY AWAY take Mr. Ortiz Hes wonderful.I took Ms. Johnson and had to take the course over again, she wouldn't help me.
It is a hard subject for the nonmath oriented but for the ones who enjoy math it is pretty fun. I took it in a 6 week class, it was a little intense, but managble. As far as teaching she does a great job at giving you the information. If you don't understand something just ask and she will help.

I took her for elem.stats. this semester and i liked her.The class was a bit challenging for me but she really takes the time to stop and help and explain whatever is not understood.Barely ever any homewrk.I would reccommend her!
probably one of the worst calculus teachers i have ever had in my life. very bad at teaching in general. didnt like the course, moved way to fast . and didnt learn anything. feel dumber from having taken her class.
I think she is a genius when it comes to math she works the problems forwards and backwards.Often times she shows students multiple ways to do a problem.
Do not take this teacher. She is so monotone it is very hard to pay attention. She teaches as if you have already taken the class. She only gives you around a day to do your homework and CONSTANTLY changes the dates! She is the worst teacher I have had at SCF. I REGRET taking this teacher and if you do I am sure you will too.

People on here made her out to be so mean but i'm taking her this semester and she explains everything vividly. She makes sure we understand the content and the tests can be hard if you don't study. She's not the nicest but she's a good teacher. I don't regret taking her.
Outstanding. Covered each principle in depth before moving on to the next. Accepted homework after the due date. This is wrong. I worked hard to get my homework, which is graded, done before the due date. Those who were lazy or had better things to do got the same credit as I did. This was nor right. I would be willing to take her again.
She's a great teacher. She gives great notes and is always willing to clarify something if you don't understand. She gives enough homework that you understand the material but not so much that you feel overloaded. I would definitely recommend her!
Horrible teacher. Does not like teaching, assumes you know all the material, only uses mymathlab and is too lazy to give out tests in class so she gives them online and they are difficult. Very disorganized and doesn't seem to care if the whole class is failing. She might be ok for low level math, but not for this class. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
she is a nice person, but a horrible teacher. if you go inot the class with a couple people you know and have time to work as a group outside of class, you have a chance at this course. otherwise be prepared to spend a lot of time in the ark! also dont buy the book.
This lady is evil. She was a leader for an after school thing i did and a teacher later. Her whole attitude about teaching is unhelpful and the class felt cold and unwelcomed, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!
I love math so I can judge whether a teacher is good or bad. Trust me, I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Sure it was easy for me because I already took this class my junior year, so being an expert in this field, she is HORRIBLE! FACT: my class started with more than 25 people. By the end of drop date, only about 10 remained. You be the judge.

Pretty easy class. Homework was on my math lab and the tests were based on the lecture notes. She was very helpful and gives a curve on every test. I took the class in summer A and still did well, even though it was accelerated. I don't know why she got bad reviews. It wasn't a fun class but it definitely was not hard.
Don't take her, I am wasting too much time trying to teach myself this subject because she is not a good teacher.
Professor Johnson is super helpful! Any time you fail to understand a concept she is there for assistance. On tests she is willing to point you in the right direction to solving a problem. Always offers help on homework. Very interested in her student's understanding. I will be taking her for Calculus next semester for sure!
If you want to/have to know everything about Stats. and you have the time to devote 3-4 hours of studying for every hour of class time, then take her. If you don?t, then I would look for another professor.
I actually liked Professor Johnson. I think she is a good teacher, but it is definitely a lot of work to keep a high grade in her class. One major thing is you need to keep up with the homework and ALWAYS do the reviews! I can see how some students could find her difficult. If you struggle in math DON'T TAKE HER!!!

I don't have any problem with Prof Johnson. She seems tough at first but if she knows that you're putting the time and really trying then she'll cut you some slack. . She dropped some of the lower grades and I ended up with a B, which is tremendously tough for me in anything resembling math.

Most people don't like Dr.Johnson and think she is difficult, but I actually think she's great. The class is really easy and almost everything is on the calculator. She is open to helping students outside of class. She gives reviews for the test and will answer all homework questions to make sure people understand. This class made me love stats

Johnson makes this class absolutely horrific. She teaches her class as if her students have already had multiple years of statistics, instead of it being an introductory course. Good luck trying to understand how her personal stories relate to tests in your calculator. Her absurdity blew my mind. Hate her. Hate her. Hate her.
I had straight A's previous to taking this course and had to work my butt of for a C. She claimed "C's" are perfectly fine... I had multiple tutors and spent hours studying. Her tests are ridiculous and unclear. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! SHE WILL SEND YOUR GPA IN A DOWNWARD SPIRAL! PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! YOU'LL REGRET IT!

worst teacher EVER. She doesn't explain anything, if you're 5 minutes late to class, you're counted as absent, and she's very catty. Not worth the extra effort. Impossible to get an A unless you're amazing at remedial math.
Cares more about you using the computer then learning the material. Homework is to difficult to do, because of program it's on, not because of the material.
Dr. J is a great person but not very helpful with the material. I basically had to learn from other students in the class and the ARC. The homework was useless and had nothing to do with her tests! Also, be prepared to get a group together for the projects she"ll give you. you will literally have two days to complete it and trust me it is hard.

Johnson is the absolute worst professor I have ever taken. I signed up for a different professor who ended up quitting right before classes started so our whole class got assigned to her. She goes way too fast when explaining notes, acts like you're stupid when you ask questions and the tests are soooo hard, nothing in the notes is on the tests.
Be prepared to teach yourself and be taught by online homework assigns. I swear I didn't learn a single thing listening to her. Didn't take a single note but read the textbook, which she doesn't require. I had a 94 in the class until the final and ended up with a B on my transcript. Emailed her for my final score but she never posted my grade...
Great person, who needs to find a different job NOT teaching. She's all over the place with her lectures. Not very helpful when answering Students questions. In fact I was more confused after she answered my questions. I have to rely on the internet and the book. Must bring homework with you everyday for possible pop quiz.
Notes are online. And she always post them at the last minutes sometimes half way into the chapter and the notes aren't posted yet. She's all over the place with her teaching. She answers your questions with more headaches. Homework in textbook.
Speaks too slowly, does not explain the concepts, goes too fast with topics, doesn't give good examples. Lectures are different from what you get on the hw. Expects students to understand everything from the first try. Once again, not enough practice with each problem.
The study guides are infinitesimally easier than her tests, and the tests are the bulk (about 65% after the final) of your grade. It's not that she doesn't teach what's on the test, it's just that she chooses really easy assignments for the study guides and makes extremely difficult tests.
Homework has nothing to do with tests. Lectures have nothing to do with tests. Students are at an extreme disadvantage with this instructor. The answers on the test review sheets are wrong. Excessive word play on the test questions. She's very closed minded.
Already heard bad reviews from her before I even took the class and regret picking her. Horrible professor. No mid term. We had no review. She was absent the last week of class and finals day. The finals is on ALL the chapters and she failed me. I've tried SOOO hard to pass! You have to teach yourself the homework and ugh. Just font do it
Dr. Johnson is very nice and she will help you if you need it, but she is very boring in lectures. I definitely don't recommend taking her class at 8am. Her notes are confusing at best, homework doesn't help with exams, exam reviews are nothing like the exams and she doesn't teach the material very well.

I learned all the material on my free time, after class because her lectures are messy and confusing.
If math isn't your thing, then choose another teacher. Homework would be 20 questions but with 5 different parts, which is time consuming. But I do love that she gives a review before the exam and goes over it in class, I always did them and she would go step-by-step. Do the reviews, take notes, show up, and do the homework. Sit in the front!!!
online classes is ok but just because it says 20 questions expect like 50 (each question is usually comprised of 3-5 questions)You will want a ti84 plus calculator for sure (makes standard deviation and quartile a piece of cake- check YouTube to show you how).Do not procrastinate. Midterm is vocab heavy (like 30% of the test) so know the studyguide
Johnson seems like a sweet lady in the beginning but after the first week she shows her true colors. She is rude and often has a sly attitude with students. She makes you feel very dumb when you ask a question. Her lectures are long and drawn out, often gets off topic which derails everyone's mindset of the current topic.
I really like Mrs. Johnson, I'm in her Pathway to stats class right now and I'm taking her class next semester for stats. Homework on mymathlab is a bit tedious, but its bearable. If you take notes on what she says/ writes on the board you'll do fine. She gives great tests reviews, so just study those a bit and the tests aren't very difficult.
Far the worse lecture professor. I never understood the way she was teaching. Most of the time she would jumped back and forth with different problems and it would confuse the whole class. All I can say is good luck. I had to use Youtube to help me make it through the class.
Reading everyone's comment I get where you are coming from. But she really isn't that bad, give her a chance. She wants the best for her student and wants you to learn. If you have a question when you are taking a test. She will help you with your questions. ( not many professors allows you to ask questions during a test)
She was an awful professor. From the start, her lessons were everywhere; she seems to know the material but cannot convey it in a cohesive manner. To do well in this class you need to be able to teach yourself the lessons, either through the use of MyMathLab or YouTube. Good luck to anyone who will be taking this terrible class!
She's alright, she's nice, but her lectures are hard to follow and sometimes she gets confused by her own work. I wish she would follow a guide or at least follow the lessons in the book. She just does a few hard problems from the lesson and its easy to get lost and fall behind. You will have to learn a lot at home,and Her Test are the Hardest ever
This is the worst teacher I ever had. she makes you buy a book you dont use, not once in the semester, and she isn't helpful at all, if you ask for help she comes back at you with a smart remark. I hated every moment I had to sit in this girls class. So for future students dont take this class.
I cannot stress enough for you to read and listen to the other reviews on here. I didnt listen and no Im screwed. This is not a good teacher for people who have trouble or need help understanding it. Homework is Mathlab which is often inaccurate and a bad medium to help teach, i havent cried in years. Thanks for the absolute frustration.
Without a doubt this woman is horrendous. I have never been inside a class that has been so poorly taught until now. She is an absolute nightmare who should never be teaching again. Her inability to teach is apparent. She should not be allowed to teach any introductory class because of her ineptitude.I could list more like her shady grading also. F
