She is like a mom: really cares about how well you do and is very clear in her methods. All tests are identically easy in formatting and usually you can get by studying the night before. Attendance is necessary to passing.
Easy A if you GO TO CLASS AND TAKE DETAILED NOTES. The lectures are made interesting by her passion for architecture.
Professor Klein is amazing! She is very helpful and provides you with all the material you need to pass her class. She supplies a study guide for all tests: IF YOU DO THEM YOU WILL GET A's on all exams. Go to her office hours the day before an exam. She has mini review sessions with students who attend.
Klein was a great professor and honestly I really enjoyed going to class each day. I'm a science major that needed a creative arts course, and this one was easy and enjoyable. I'm surprised how much information about history and architecture that I actually learned throughout this course, especially since I put the minimum effort in. Take her!
favorite professor ever -slightly monotone voice and dark classroomsometimes sleepy -all lectures posted online, beneficial to print out before class and add extra notes during lectures -study guides are almost the exact tests -you can skip a few classes and be okay -no cumulative final:) -understandable, knowledgeable woman love her
Love Dr. Klein. Super easy class. Each lecture, she goes over a few buildings and those are the buildings on the tests. 4 tests. 4 writing assignments. If you go into office hours, she will proof-read your writing assignment to make sure you make a 100. I screwed up for one test and ended up with a B, but it should be an easy A. Great Professor!!
Dr. Klein is now my favorite professor at A&M. She is so knowledgeable about her subject and is very respectful of her students. I genuinely look forward to class and have even experienced the totally novel feeling of wishing the class wasn't ending. If you are able to take this class I highly recommend it.
Great class. She is one of the smartest people I have ever met. Very helpful.
You can tell that Prof. Klein loves her job. Her lectures make the information come to life, and she is so passionate about what she teaches. She is very caring and always offers help outside of class. She makes an extra effort to get to know her students. Be sure to go to her office hours before submitting papers! Lots of extra credit!
Dr. Klein was such a nice professor and new a lot about what she was talking about. Grade was divided between the tests, which were exactly like the review sheets, and short writing assignments. The assignments seem tricky at first but you can email Dr. Klein if you need help. Lectures can be boring , but you actually come away learning new things
Dr. Klein is a great prof. She is very passionate about the subject, gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, and the tests are based off of the lectures and reading.
Klein was the best. Everything you need to know is in her lecture notes, which she provides. The only thing you need the book for is online quizzes, but the quizzes are through the book publisher so all you need is the access code. Love her!
This class isn't the most interesting one, but it's not necessarily boring either. Klein cares a lot about architecture and her students, and wants her students to care about it too. Not a terribly difficult class, and I learned a lot of information that I've applied when traveling and seeing different architecture.
You are required to buy the textbook, but all the coursework comes from her lectures (which are all posted online), so just skip through the textbook, no need to actually read. Very easy class made enjoyable by a fun and invested professor. Highly recommended.
a lot of information, but easy. You don't need to go to class, only for the test days and whenever she goes over what to put in your essays. All her lectures are online.
3 tests, 3 papers, online quiz every week over the textbook, but you can use the textbook on it. Gives multiple extra credit opportunities. If you complete all the quizzes you get 1pt extra credit. She basically tells you what to write on the essays. The tests are multiple choice but you need to know specifics. She is very caring and helpful.
Shes such an amazing teacher!
Easy A. Test review is the test. Online homework. Don't need to go to class. Papers are graded a bit tough.
Prof. Klein is such a sweet and intelligent professor. The class is thoroughly enjoyable and the tests are pretty straightforward. She does give some extra credit to help boost your grade. You don't always have to attend class. The writing assignments can be a little challenging, but with her help, you can do it easy. I highly recommend her class!
This was one of my favorite classes. Prof Klein is super nice and her lectures are really interesting. You don't need to go to class though as she puts up the slides online. Quizzes can be taken over until you get 100. Tests are easy if you know the buildings and about them. Papers can be tough. Go to office hours if you need help with anything.
Wonderful lady teaching a subject that was horribly boring to me. Overall a very straightforward class that requires fairly little effort to do well in. Simply not interested in Architecture as I came to realize. Overall - easy class just sometimes hard to sit down and study for with such a lack of interest.
It was difficult for me at times to focus on the lectures and studying for exams because I was simply not interested in the subject, but Klein did her best to keep us engaged in lecture, with easy quizzes online and fair exams. She's very sweet, passionate, caring and I would definitely take her again. Also, lots of extra credit! She's the best.
Dr. Klein is my favorite teacher at TAMU. I have taken her classes 3 different semester now... shes possibly the kindest, most professional, knowledgeable, understanding professor ever. For her upper level classes you have to write a few papers, but theyre beyond simple. If you can learn from Dr. Klein and you dont... youre crazy. End of story.
Not the most interesting content, but Prof Klein tries her best to make it interesting. She is the sweetest lady and gives tons of extra credit. She also gives lengthy reviews for the test, but if you study them you should make A's. She basically writes the essays for you in class, so make sure you go to class when she assigns them.
This class was not hard at all! Honestly one of my favorite classes and klein is so good at what shes teaching. Also attendance isn't mandatory but going to class is a must if you really want to understand the material.
Dr. Klein understands that not everyone that takes her class is an architecture major so no prior knowledge needed. 3 exams and 3 papers throughout the class, but the papers are very straightforward. The test format is a little strange at first since it is a PowerPoint test but she will make sure that you finish the test on time.
She posts all lecture powerpoints online, tons of extra credit opportunities, and posts reviews for every test (only 3). I didn't go to class very often, but I still made A's on every test. She is a really sweet professor and cares about each of her students.
Her lectures are really good but can be boring. I enjoyed this class and the extra credit is easy. Her test review are the questions on the exam. Read all the textbook ready the weekend before the test cause it will help with the study review. Don't worry about ready the supplemental reading.
Only showed up for the tests and made an A in the class. As long as you study the study guides that she posts and do the extra credit opportunities, you will make an A. There are 3 papers throughout the semester, but if you go to class, she pretty much tells you what to write. She is a very nice professor and genuinely cares for her students.
The 3 exams aren't too bad if you make flashcards with the picture on one side and the facts on the other, I needed to study 2-3 days in advance. Take down as much detail as you can when she's lecturing on the essays and you'll thank yourself later. She'll also review them before it's due so you can get a really high grade! Put in workA or B.
Test are pretty easy, flashcards are the way to go, and attend class especially right before the writing assignments she has a very in depth review.
Lectures are posted before class, so you can print out or follow along, and although attendance isn't necessary, she will say things about the monuments that are not on the slide and may be helpful for tests. For the review you mostly just need the learning objectives and basic info. Three tests, three essays, online hw that is super easy.
I strongly recommend prof. Klein. She is nice, super helpful and does care about her students. Attendance is not required, lecture slides are posted online. Weekly online homework takes about 1 hour, three simple essays, three tests that you only need to study her study guides. I am not a hardworking student and still got B+.
Professor Klein is such a sweet lady. There were 3 exams, 3 essays, and online homework. The class before the essays were due she would literally go over EVERYTHING needed on each paper. It's an easy A as long as you keep up with the online hw, study enough for exams, and go to class when she goes over the essays. She also gives out extra credit.
The nicest prof. She makes it an easy A with so much extra credit. Only go on days she assigns the papers bc she pretty much writes it for you. Tests were sorta hard to study for bc the material isn't of interest to me but its hard to not get an A if you do what you're supposed to. Use flashcards for the tests.
I took this creative arts class after ready the reviews and thinking it was the easiest class out there. The essays are manageable if you go to class the day before its due. I needed to study for the tests a week in advance because of how much information there was. There are definitely easier creative arts classes out there.
Prof. Klein was great overall but the class was very hard and extremely boring! I'm a business major and took this class as my creative art and it was not a good choice as I seriously got a B in an architecture class after trying really hard! I definitely do not recommend this course, but would recommend Prof. Klein as she is helpful and nice.
I loved Prof Klein's ARCH 250. She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about architecture making her lectures more fun to listen to. There are 3 tests, 3 writing assignments, and lots of quizzes (if you do them you get a 100). She also offers 5 points of extra credit throughout the semester. If you pay attention to her lectures it is an easy A.
Really great teacher, listens to you and offers a ton of extra credit. Grades papers a little hard, but overall she does a great job, is forgiving, and makes lectures somewhat interesting. HW is incredibly easy.
Lectures were extremely boring, but the class itself is very easy. She posts study guides for every exam and very detailed guidelines for each essay. The exams were open note and and are simple questions like "Which building is this?" with a photo. Highly recommend for an easy creative arts credit and easy A.
Prof Klein did the best job out of all of my profs with online learning. She was so prepared, updated ecampus frequently and her lectures were so well structured. She responded to emails quickly, answered any questions you had, and talked with passion! You can tell she is so knowledgeable. Tests were easy, but you still learned a lot!
Professor Klein is great. Honestly, her experience and knowledge in this subject area are super impressive. I enjoyed her lectures and she really enjoys engaging the students in the content. There is a good amount of supplemental reading, but if you stay on top of it, it is very manageable. ARCH 346 was good, but definitely recommend her ARCH 434
Nancy Klein was one of my favorite professors ever. However, do not take this class if you are a freshman. All of her grades revolve around writing. She grades the writing very fairly, but it does take time and thought to write the essays. She was an amazing lecturer, and I really recommend her class. All the exams were open note.
Professor Klein is really educated in her area of teaching. She lectures with incredible detail and can answer any questions. As for the class it is not hard if you apply yourself to do what is necessary.
Dr. Klein goes out of her way to ensure her students' success by providing several extra credit opportunities, recorded Zoom lectures and help during office hours. I definitely recommend taking this class with Klein!
Dr Klein is quite knowledgeable and is really interested in the material she teaches. Be sure to not forget to complete the multiple choice questions from the book each week as they are easy and you can get an extra credit point at the end if you do them all. The course is quite interesting and wont consume much time to get an A
She is able to deliver lectures in a knowledgeable and charismatic way. She's easily my favorite professor I've had here, and I looked forward to showing up to each class. Sometimes grading can be strict for essays, but otherwise take good notes and you will get a good grade.
Dr. Klein knows what she's talking about! It's a cool class, even for non-arch majors. There's 3 projects, two of which are essays. They're fairly easy, but she's a tough grader. Only thing I didn't like was she would upload modules to Canvas really last-minute. The instructions for the final project were posted three days before it was due.
Overall a great professor. Sets up the syllabus and pretty much goes by it the entire semester. There's nothing rude about her either. She cares a lot about the topics she teaches which makes it easy to listen to her! :) I would take her again if i could
The lectures were super fun and interesting, but when it came to assignments, you will be graded pretty heavily on how well and articulated it is. The exams are very detailed as well, but super easy to follow if you've taken notes or know what's going on. Prof. Klein also gives out extra credit at the beginning of the semester.
I took this course as a ucc as an engineering student. its not a hard class if you are a major student definitely take it. the exams were in person and required a lot of memorization but they were easy if you put in the work. however, if you are looking for an easy bcc this is not it stay away.
She is a very sweet lady. Overall the tests aren't hard and the study guide helps a lot. But I fell asleep in her class every day. This is a me problem, I'm aware. But the lecture hall was just so comfortable. I couldn't help it. Take this class frfr
Great at what she does. Loves what she teaches. The tests are easy if you study what she tells you to study.
I do not recommend taking Dr. Klein's ARCH 250 classes unless you are required to. Lecture size is extremely large and she does not take the time to talk about the topics covered at all. She is very fast paced and does not answer questions. Tests are also a headache as they are basically over a slide show of different buildings.
Dr. Klein delivers intriguing and entertaining lectures! She is very passionate about what she teaches and makes it enjoyable to attend class. The test and discussions are most of the weight on your grade, but she gives you all the resources you need to be prepared for the exam.
Professor Klein gave excellent lectures that were very engaging and thorough, always knowing the answer to a question. The tests can be difficult to study for, but if you can identify any given building with some background details then that is enough to earn an A on her tests. The TA's can be stingy when it comes to grading Canvas discussion posts.
Three tests worth 20% each. Prof Klein posts a study that is word-for-word questions for the test. I won't lie, they are time-consuming but worth it if you find the answers. Every lecture slide is posted on Canvas and the test questions come directly from the lectures/slides. Attendance isn't mandatory, but lectures contain test material.
Dr. Klein has an extremely deep of knowledge of architecture that is evident from her detailed lectures and her ability to always answer students' questions thoughtfully. The material was a bit dry, but Dr. Klein is an excellent lecturer, so it wasn't too bad. The tests are hard, but provided study materials are enough to be reasonably prepared.
Dr.Klein has so much knowledge and really cares about teaching. Her lectures are very interesting and she is easily accessible if you have questions. is based on 3 tests that are straight out of the lecture material, 3 essays and reading questions. If you go to class and put a little effort in to study this is a great class to take!
I really enjoy Prof Kleins lectures as she is obviously extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she is teaching!! The tests match up with what the lectures are about and she provides a pretty good study guide to help. I love her!
Very easy class, her study guides are exactly like the exams and even in the same order.
Fun lectures and they're posted on Canvas too. You need to read the textbook and finish hw. 3 exams all mc questions. Very ez A if you just review the lecture slides and study guides
You can tell from her interesting lectures that Professor Klein is extremely knowledgeable about architecture. Class is extremely well organized, she knows how to use canvas proficiently. Attendance is not mandatory, but lectures are informative and worth attending as it makes Exams come easy. Your three papers will be graded a bit more strictly.
Good class to take to get your credits. Easy A if you come to class and study for about a day for the 3 exams. Maybe 45 mins of homework a week, but the material on the homework wasn't on the exams; that was generally just from her lectures. Making some flashcards and studying those for maybe an hour or two was enough to get me A's on the exams.
Only reason I got a B was because my memorization skills are subpar. Pretty chill class, and while I'm not an arch major, or generally interested in architecture, she made it a fairly interesting class.
She's incredibly knowledgeable of the material she teaches and she communicates it well. Grade is dependent on: 3 unit tests, 3 essays about specific topics, and a weekly free 100 textbook busywork thing. Cramming will get you through this course, test review is identical to the test. Slightly liberal bias and occasionally pushes a subtle agenda
I loved having Professor Klein. Her teaching style is structured but laid back, focusing more on discussion rather than throwing information at you. There isn't a lot of assignments, some of them are a little intense but you almost the whole semester to complete those.
Overall amazing professor. Three tests and 3 written assignments the whole semester. Pay attention in class and memorization is the most important thing. Her teaching style felt like I was at the actual location and she was my tour guide. Really enjoyed this class and discovered new places I want to travel to now.
This class is not as easy as its made out to be. The material is insanely boring, very difficult to pay attention during class. The tests are poorly formatted as well. There are easier and more interesting creative arts classes out there.
she's literally like a sweet little grandma and could not be happier to be doing what she does. her lectures cover everything, and she posts the slides (id still go to class though). 3 tests and 3 papers. every test has a study guide that has the exact questions that will be on the test. about 10 smartbook assignments, don't miss them it'll be a 0
Her lectures feel like you are actually touring the monuments she talks about. Exams are near copies of the study guides she has. Theres 3 essays, each is 10% of the final grade and are graded pretty tough but she does give clear feedback. Its a very good class to take if the other creative arts requirement options make you want to shoot yourself.
I love her! She is very passionate and it shows in her lectures. She will do anything to help you get an A and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. Attendance isn't necessary but definitely go to class because the exams are based on her lectures and the readings. The exams are not hard if you just pay attention in class.
Grades are 3x10% essays, 3x20% exams, and 10x1% hws. Essays have clear criteria. Homeworks are free competition grades. Exams follow the study guide she posts, but it's VERY LONG/memorizing-heavy, most (not all) answers are in the lecture notes. Her lectures are fine and she clearly enjoys teaching them but somewhat boring for non-arch students.
Klein is probably the best lecturer I've ever seen. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities, and posts all her lecture slides and resources online. Exams weren't too difficult, she posts study guides basically telling you exactly what will be on the exam. There are three papers in this class which were graded pretty tough.
Same as everyone else really: Dr. Klein is amazing. Great lectures, straightforward exams, essays aren't too bad. Just make sure you do the textbook assignments and complete the exam reviews and you'll be solid.
Probably my favorite professor and class at TAMU. I personally found the material very interesting and Professor Klein's passion for the subject made it all the more fun. There's not much homework. The essay instructions can sometimes be confusing, but she was always available and helped me understand what I needed to do. Exams aren't bad either.
love professor klein, but am not gonna lie, this class was tough. i had her for 250 and this is not the same lol. lots of writing and remembering things. you definitely have to know about the topic. no "winging" exams as they are open-ended... the tests are majority essay questions so be prepared. she does provide study guides to help though
Nancy Klein is knowledgeable yet also very respectful. Much calmer than AP history classes. No timed writings, no chapter reading quizzes, no group projects, only 3 take-home essays with a small amount of research, and the tests had very nice study guides. I learned to love architecture. HW was a bit tedious, and there's memorization of dates.
The best professor I had during time @ TAMU. Wise & knowledgeable about her area of expertise. This class is like being with an curator in a museum. Fascinating topics! Be prepared to know details. It's an upper level class and she holds you to such standard! Good luck! She is extremely helpful outside of class & understanding. Miss it already.
Amazing professor! Dr. Klein is passionate about architecture and extremely sweet. She has offered 3 extra credit opportunities. There are 3 core assignments but they are simple and straightforward. Exams have study guides that tell you everything that will be in the exam. Amazing professor, definitely take her class!
Very lecture heavy but it's clear that Professor Klein is passionate about her field. Lectures can get a little boring due to the amount of content but are pretty enjoyable. All assignments are straightforward (online textbook quizzes and Core Assignments with detailed rubrics) and she offers a few extra credit assignments. Would take again!
I took this class even though its probably not the easiest Creative Arts credit since I was genuinely interested in architecture, and for those who share this sentiment I would 100% recommend this course with Klein! Memorization is essential, but with a bit of studying getting an A is not difficult at all. Klein made the lectures very interesting.
Prof Klein is a very sweet lady. None of the homework is that hard. If you go to class, you will have no trouble knowing what to study for the tests. Easy and enjoyable.
Very passionate about what she's lecturing on. I had this class tues/thurs for 75 minutes. Lectures are great and very informational, but the info packed into 75 mins is very dense, and I often left confused and mentally drained. If you can, try and get this class m/w/f for 50 mins if it's offered. You may go to class more than I did.
Dr. Klein's lectures were amazing and the class itself is super fun. There is quite a bit of textbook reading, but they are all free. The papers and projects are very interesting, so it wasn't hard to get them done and she gives out study guides for the tests so they are extremely easy. I would definitely recommend Dr. Klein and this class.
Absolutely amazing prof! She excites me to go to class I've been to every single lecture (and attendance isn't mandatory so that's saying something). She genuinely has her students best interests in mind and enjoys the class she is teaching. Yes there is a lot of reading but go to her lectures, pay attention. Take her class!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Klein is one of the sweetest professors you'll meet. She has a wealth of knowledge about the subject she teaches and is clearly passionate about what she does. She is very fair in her grading and passes a rope around in class. Assignments require effort and thought. She is always happy to meet with students outside of class.
She is a wonderful teacher and very passionate. She's easy to approach and talk to before and after class. Grades are based off 3 exams and 3 main assignments as well as some smartbook assignments. Make sure to use study guide to study for exams and as long as you follow the rubric for assignments you should be good.
Starting my first college semester, Professor Klein made it relatively easy to stay on top of work. Her lectures and learning objectives give you pretty much all the information that you need to do well on exams. Just make sure to do the reading quizzes when you can, and lock in on the papers. Oh yeah, and extra credit, insurance where it counts.
very good professor, was very passionate about the class and knew what she was lecturing about well. a lot of extra credit opportunities. class had three exams with study guides which were extremely helpful in preparing for the exam. smartbook reading quizzes that dont take much time and just three core assignments that arent too hard.
She is a great prof and teaches this class very well. Grade basically only consists of 3 tests and 3 projects/papers. You don't need to go to class but I highly recommend it as you can tell from her lectures that she is very knowledgeable on everything including extensive history surrounding the buildings and timeframe we study.
You can tell she's very passionate about what she teaches. Lots of memorization for the exams, but if you attend lecture you will learn most of the stuff. There are some readings and essays to write, got away with not doing the canvas readings but there are McGraw Hill questions you need to do and will help if you actually go over those.
