Not as easy as her ratings show here. Must attend every class and take good notes. She has 4 tests for the total grade. She gives a good review sheet for her test but they are very hard. Good lecture and no homework, but very hard tests. I got a "C". =(

Excellent historian! Although we burdened her to death with questions, she kept up with us and made sure we understood something-so much so that we didn't quite cover all we were supposed to. This is mainly a lecture class. You have to take lots of notes. People, including myself, bought a recorder for class. There is lots of writing involved but fairly easy if you study your notes.

Straight-forward, animated professor. Her all essay examinations that aren't painful because material is definately covered and repeated in her lectures. Be in class for it is my only advice.

Before Dr Nancy Lopez I hated history. Now I love it and considered making it my minor. She is the best! Take good notes. She hands out outlines to help you take notes. She hands out a sheet of key words or topics to know for the test.I got A's in both history classes I took from her.

Prof Lopez is really great! Her lectures are engaging and you can see that she truly loves to teach History. Her test are kind of tricky, mult. choice with a required essay, but if you really give it your best by studying the book she gives you and preparing an essay in advance, you will do fine. She also gives a review sheet for each test!

Took her class during Summer of 2011. It is important to go to class. Se used outlines and all we did was fill them in with our notes. She is very animated, informed, and eager to help others. The book was not used in class, but it is very important to read it for the online quizzes which are all from material covered in the book, not in the lectures. She provides a clear study guide for all exams, and if you really study the terms and understand them, you will get an A.

Dr. Lopez took a subject I was already passionate about, Russian History, and made it come alive. A lot of writing on exams, be prepared to state facts complete with dates, names and specifics, She is big on the specifics. Pay attention to her exam reviews, and take a lot of notes. She grades hard, but fair. This class was a lot of fun!

Took her for HIST1305 and wanted to take her for HIST1306 too, but she isn't teaching that class right now. When I say amazing lectures, its because I mean AMAZING LECTURES! Its honestly a class you cant fail because her tests and assignments are all lecture based. So, super straightforward and going to class is like watching a surprisingly entertaining history movie. Shes the best.

I took her class online and it was very simple. You do have to show up for lectures because she offers outlines that you use to take notes. What was on the outline is what is on the test so you just need to study. She was very nice and funny and responded to emails. There was a signature assignment but it was fairly easy. Would take her again!

SHE IS THE BEST!!! A very easy class, she made it interesting she can also be funny at times. So understanding and caring about her students. Show up to class that's how you will pass, the outlines have literary all the answers to the test, just study. The only bad thing was the lockdown browser but you don't need to use the camera. She is amazing

I really enjoyed having her, she had a sign in sheet for every single class but majority of her classes are going over the outlines she has posted. Outlines are posted she will tell you whats helpful for exams, as well as provides study guides for exams. Really loved her!

lectures were great and interesting. the tests were done online so you can use your notes on the test but make sure that you study the lecture outlines. overall great class

History 1305 was my favorite course this semester I really loved her personal, teaching style, and the work load was manageable. Study Questions at the end of the Outlines are extremely helpful when taking Exams. We did 3 essays including the Signature Assignment, 5 easy quizzes and 3 Exams.

I usually am terrible with history and remembering any events but Dr. Lopez really made it so much easier for you. All her tests are lecture-based, no need for textbook. Study off the lecture outlines and the study guides and you'll be set for tests! For any papers, she gives you extra videos and guides to make sure you do good. Great professor!

Loved her lectures! All you need to do is show up, take notes, study for the timed(!) tests, and pass. There were a few essays we had to write but they weren't so bad. I really recommend this teacher!

She really wants you to learn and pass your exams/essays/quizzes. She's good at teaching and if you want to do well on your work then go to the lectures. I'm terrible at history but the way she teaches it helps

She has to be my favorite professor by far. I almost switched my major to History because of her. Her lectures are so engaging and she's quite down-to-earth straight with the students. She includes outlines of her lessons so it's easy to make notes on them whenever you go to the lecture. She does go a bit fast but will answer any questions.

amazing lecturer,clear PowerPoints,clear outlines.there are 4 exams, 3 papers for those exams, the signature assignment, and very few online assignments.she is very kind and understanding of students' lives outside of class.attendance does matter if you want to keep up with the lectures.there are chances of rewrites of essays and some extra credit.

Professor Lopez is great at what she does and the way she teaches in lectures is very helpful and engaging. You will not get anything on the exams that she did not mention in class, which is great. If I had paid more attention in class I probably would have gotten an A but always make sure to come to the lectures and have the outline pulled out.

Dr. Lopez Attendance was not mandatory but I would definitely recommend going to classes because since you are not using the textbook most of her lecture is what is on the quiz/test/finals which she also keeps it very interesting while she is teaching also participation is a small portion of grade overall refreshing class

she is the best history teacher ever, took her classes 3 semesters straight, lectures are fun and pact full of information, she makes it clear on what you need to know, provides PowerPoints, lecture notes, and study guides on BB. 4 exams, 3 essays, and the signature assignment. sometimes she does discussion board but they are small.

She is by far my favorite professor at UHD. She is understanding and one of the best lecturers ever.

As someone who hates history, I loved this course. She provides outlines for her lectures so as long as you show up to class and write side notes, you should get easy A's on the tests and quizzes. She does give unexpected assignments but they're easy and manageable. She's really funny and makes the lectures understandable for everyone.

As somebody who is not good at history, this class is great. There is not much work, and classes are mostly just lectures. Just show up to class, pay attention, and do the study guides. Exams were worth 75% of your grade, but the exams are not that difficult if you do the study guides. It's an easy pass and can be an easy A if you work for it.

She is a very good teacher; she explains the material well. I am someone who is not fond of history class, but she made the class fun and was easy for me to understand what we were talking about. She provides outlines which is very helpful and exam reviews. I would honestly take her again.

Currently taking her for HIS 1305 and I already enrolled for her HIS 1306. She is really funny, if you pay attention in lectures it is impossible for you to fail. Every lecture has clear outlines that you can download and print out prior to class. You will be doing a good bit of writing but she is extremely helpful and always available. Love her!

Professor Lopez has been one of the best professors I have taken, her way of teaching is out of this world by making the lectures sound interesting, enjoyable, and fun to learn about. So, for those students who plan to take Professor Lopez, I hope you all enjoy the class and prepare to study for 3 exams and the final.

Professor Lopez is a great lecturer - her clear PowerPoints and outlines make the material very accessible. While the workload is manageable, attendance is key to doing well. Resources like unstuck AI, along with the provided study guides, can make exam prep a breeze.

Awesome professor took her for History 1305 and 1306. Her lectures are amazing and funny she gives an outline for each new lesson. Outlines help you for her test and there are a few essays but they are easy.

Amazing lectures, really engaging and funny. I was able to learn the material by just attending class and paying attention. Lots of extra credit opportunities. The lecture outlines she provides are extremely helpful for keeping up, but attendance is graded.
