I really enjoy having her as my professor. She is very nice and easy to get along with. She is very helpful and easy to understand. She would go step by step when you don't understand a certain topic and spares her own time after class if you have any questions. So I would recommend her to take and I'm sure it will benefit you in the future.

She really took the time to help explain and breakdown certain processes. For example, she drew pictures etc. She also created study guides that were helpful.

She is a wonderful teacher. She explains the subject matter thoroughly and takes to review any information that is "fuzzy" or not known/understood well. She also prepares us well in advance for our exams with daily quizzes and hw on the subject matter. She also give extra credit opportunities for exams which I personally appreciate!

Great clarity of concepts and well organized. A lot of handouts (not related to math but towards study skills and how to achieve goals). A little fast paced. Great narrative for extra credit project. She is well organized with lesson plans, and time (we finish the lesson plans way early before the semester ended. She is great.

Nancy is a wonderful teacher. She "dumbs down" the math enough so I can actually understand it. I enjoy the "you-teach" lessons, they help a lot. However, she goes through the more complex material kind of quickly for me, but that might just be because I'm in a summer course. She offers help tho, and tries to get students to help each other.

She is technologically savvy.She created a Facebook class group to make it easy for us to catch up & for the students to talk to each other.The best part of this class is her super nice personality, & an attitude that says "HEY! I GENUINELY CARE ABOUT YOU!" Something SO valuable.

I love that Prof Mahan always responds to our q's & doesn't get irritated with anybody's question. I asked her many questions during lectures and she still answered them. I ask her questions about any equation during the break, & she helps me understand it. She is coolest professor I ever have. I'm glad I chose to be in her class for the summer.

Ms.Mahan gives us worksheets to fill out that helps us mange our time schedule. It's mandatory for us to use the Math Center for 5% of our grade is also a great help. She moves a little on speedy side when going over hw or teaching us new problems. Overall this is by FAR the greatest math teacher I've had in the last 2 years of my college career.

She explains the process step by step. When you don't get it she let you do it step by step. She gives tools, like note taking, time management. The book she uses is great. For me, I loved her enthusiasm put into the daily lectures. She takes questions from previous nights assignment and puts them on the quiz, that is very helpful. Daily quizes help us to see where we stand. I enjoy my first semester of Math it was a lot better than expected. Will be looking for other math classes taught by Mrs. Mahan

Prof Mahan does an amazing job at pacing new things we learn. When the class as a whole understands, she doesn't hesitate to move on to next section; however if she sees the class struggling, she slows down, retrace her steps with us to ensure we know the material. Her lectures are thorough, clear & offer a clear guide to work off of when I do hw.

She's very understanding to the needs of students & does a great job of accommodating certain circumstances. I think she has a sense that everything that we complete in class are being done to absolutely help us in class; everything is done for a reason. I would definitely recommend Professor Mahan to other students that need to take a math class.

I wasn't quite sure how a hybrid class would go. My main concern would be that the instructor would just give us the website and send us on our way. I was pleasantly surprised that Ms Mahan would go over the homework with us before the tests which truly did help.

I find the class handouts a big help. I like the way she is prepared, she starts at the beginning of a problem & works it all out to the end, explaining the process along the way, I also like the way she take charge in the classroom. She keeps her cool. She is a very good teacher and I hope to have her again.

I took Mahan's Math 110 hybrid course Fall 2014 and she made everything very easy to understand. I am realllyyy bad at math in general & the program she uses makes everything very simple. 10 chapters in the book, one chapter due every two weeks. Exams are done on campus. Im taking her again because shes hilarious and laid back.

Nancy is a very good teacher; if I could I would take her again. Our class was a big class, around 60 people, yet I felt like I knew everyone. She really knows how to make the class feel like a community, and that helps us a lot. She utilizes facebook a lot, but it is very helpful. Tests are just like the homework and practice tests!

Professor Mayans MATH 110 web class is easy to follow. Since it is a web class The professor offered group meetings for quick chapter summary's. The professors chapter summary's made it easier to understand and helps to finish the homework and prepare for the EXAMS. The professor's uses Facebook for the class to Discuss new topics.

I could not have picked a more caring Math Professor. Professor Mayan cares about each students success. Do the homework, take part in class discussions, prepare for the EXAMS and you will do well. Meet with the professor if you get stuck on a topic. I will take the Professor's MATH 130 class.

Ms. Nancy is a great Math professor and I highly recommend students to her. She makes hard lessons easy to understand and she's always there for you. While she's deriving you to understand Math, she's motivating you to keep it up also. She understands that some students aren't a fast learner, so she has a lot of good tips and visual explanation.

I AM HORRIBLE AT MATH! Prof Mahan is great at teaching match and makes her lecture VERY clear. She gives you study guides before every test and whatever is on the study guide is pretty much on the test just different numbers. She is very helpful if you don't understand the material! Mrs. Mahan is one of the best math professors I've took so far. I took Math 110 online, and when it was time for the test she spend at least 30 min or more to review before taking the test. It was great and helpful in every way. Her personality was understanding, and always willing to help! And the way she explains the material is always so clear.

Mrs. Mahan explains subjects very clearly. She goes a little quick but this is an 8 week course so that was already expected. She is very friendly and patient. She is always available to explain and clarify any questions. When teaching she gives more than one way of doing the problem. She sometimes moves to quickly while doing a problem.

She uses Facebook for class discussion or if you have questions. It is such a helpful tool and I think more classes should use it. A very informative teacher and always willing to help! Responds to the messages a little slow but very helpful when she responds.

She's very helpful and she knows how to break down how to do a problem when you don't understand how to do. She uses Aleks an online program for homework Module's and practice tests you don't need to buy a book just the program. You don't want to miss her lectures they are all important for preparing for a test. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER!

Professor Mahan, is an excellent teacher. She grades fairly and gives fair warning (at least one class session in advance) on all quizzes and exams. SIGN UP FOR WEBASSIGN WHEN YOU GET THE SYLLABUS. I was almost dropped from her class because I had not signed up for WEBASSIGN by the first class session. Make sure you do that.

Most amazing professor I've ever had. Quizzes are hard but you know what it covers. So get the HW done for what it covers and you'll be fine. Tests require lots of study time, don't procrastinate! Lectures are clear and understandable but if you don't get it ask questions. She'll clarify. First few weeks, do what is asked or you will be dropped.

Amazing professor! I feel privileged to have had her as my Calculus professor. She helped reinforce my love for mathematics by making it enjoyable all semester. I wish there were more math professors like her that are passionate about helping students succeed. I'm sure plenty of my classmates feel the same way.

Professor Mahan made calculus easy for me to learn. I was so worried that it would be difficult, and it was at times, but overall I feel that I have learned alot in her class. She provided me with a good foundation in mathematics that I can build upon in the future. Great teacher!

Dont get me wrong- Nancy is a great teacher but I took the online hybrid class so the website ALEKS did most of the teaching. The ALEKS website is sometimes extremely demanding and by the end I found myself losing momentum because of how overwhelming it is. I dont recommend taking this hybrid if you are looking for an easy class.

Professor Mahan is a real asset to the math department at LBCC. She is very attentive to her student's needs, is very approachable and is a very, very good instructor. She is also quite involved in the LBCC community and encourages her students to get involved as well. I'd be happy as a clam to take another class of hers in the future.

Aw man I had so much fun learning cool things in her class. No one is perfect, but all the good far outweighs the bad with this professor. She really cares if you pass and makes our class feel like a community. We were sad when it was over. She breaks things down in an easy to understand way and is super patient. Take her! I had her for Calc 1.

She's a great teacher in general, although there were times she goes a bit too fast through lecture. The class is difficult, but she's willing to answer all your questions and try to make as understandable as possible. Cumulative final, but if you do well it can replace your lowest exam, so plus for that!

I took her online class and would recommend for anyone who is good at managing time and is good at learning on your own. I also took her for my Math 110 class as well. I like everything about this class, the only thing that is hard for me is that, its really fast paced. There is a lot of class time so i learn a lot each class. She lets the class know what is expected from them. Her step by step explanations really help.

Took this class as an 8 week so everything was pretty fast paced. She is very hyper and loves math. The homework is all done on Aleks which is also free. Attendance matters. There's no quizzes just exams which aren't very hard since she gives a practice test in class and one on Aleks, study those and u will pass. I currently have an A.

MsMahan is by far the best instructor Ive ever had. Shes always wanting us to succeed. She goes over the material well & detailed but in a timely manner. She never makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Shes fun & very nice, but not so nice that you can be lazy. Shes the perfect balance. Ive never been good at math until I took her class.

Our class is online mostly, so most of the material is self-taught. I think the instructor is doing great with being informative. If I need to ask any questions and thorough with her explanation. I enjoy having her as an instructor.

Nancy is a great professor. She is very helpful in and out of the classroom. She does lecture pretty quickly, but I personally just used Webassign to learn a lot of the problems. It's hard to fail exams especially since she give you a study guide which is REALLY similar to the exam itself. She is dedicated to her students. TAKE HER!

professor Nancy's class can be very tough I took her math 130 accelerated class and it was a terrible idea but as she taught and did what a math teacher does she was a very well explanatory teacher, she's really sweet nice and very helpful , professor Nancy is awesome, you will be fine if you do all DLA'S AND ATTEND all class sessions just focus.

I personally like this class alot because it bring students together in learning topics and generally not leaving one behind. She provides materials,examples, and personal experiences to easier understand the topic.

I like that Professor Mahan is a very active instructor, always making sure to respond and accommodate to our needs. The class syllabus is also really well put together in a way where we have more than enough time for each assignment to be done, and to study for quizzes and exams.

AMAZING!!!!!! I had her for last Winter session and boy was it tough!!! I don't like math at all and never will. I can't even begin to tell you how much she cares about her students. The absolute best professor at lbcc, she made understanding calc 1 so much easier. She doesn't baby you but she is always willing to go over material to make sure you understand what's going on in class. Professor Mahan is one of the best math teachers Ive ever had! At first I was a bit iffy about her because she put us in groups but I later realized it was for our benefit. We would do group quizzes & she would give us TWO opportunities on our exams! Even on the final we had two opportunities! If you can take her please do it will benefit you!

I really enjoyed this class and I'm not a math person whatsoever. You are assigned in groups by last name and every week you have a group quiz. For homework you work on Aleks and she also gives you practice tests that are identical to the test. If you like working in groups and want a easy A this class is for you.

I really appreciated that she would allow us to work on assignments that have closed on catch-up days. It is really important to give yourself plenty of time to study and complete homework assignments. The practice exams she gives were the best thing. They really helped you prepare for exams. She really cares about her students.

With the professor's video explanations this online math class really works and teaches us effectively. I enjoy how organized everything is. There is zero confusion. I have STRUGGLED with passing math for a while. Going into this I did not expect it to be any different due to it being online. I was way wrong, professor Mahan, not only wants you to succeed but gives you endless amount of resources and extra credit to not fail! I did pass, but even if I hadn't I would still definitely recommend her.

The best Math teacher you could ask for. She truly wants you to succeed and gives you every resource she can to do so. Be prepared for 3 group projects and SLO tutoring activities though. She gives clear grading criteria and outlines your weekly schedule for you. Overall, fantastic professor and I'd take her again in a heartbeat.

Professor Mahan is awesome! I have always hated math and feared taking this class. Prof. Mahan has made math fun (if that's possible) and interesting. She really has a good way of explaining things and giving us each step and explaining things clearly. I honestly look forward to taking another math class with her for the Fall semester.

There was no option to select MATH45, which is the class I took of hers. There are 6 exams and 1 FINAL. All of which need to be taken with cams on at all times (showing your face) and you need to show your ID to verify who you are evertime you take an exam. There is a lot of lectures and homework each week so be prepared or you won't do well

I really enjoyed how funny my professor is. I am not really a fan of math since I have had to retake the course 3 times already, but she has made it fun. I learned a lot and was able to understand math way better.

During some lectures it felt rushed and felt like not all the material was covered during the zoom meeting. The videos that was provided by Profess Mahan was a life saver for people like me who sometimes can't attend class, she provided recorded lectures and extra materials via YouTube videos that really help me understand the material better.

I took math 45 this fall of 2022, and she is a wonderful professor. Math is not my strong subject, but she made her lectures and notes easy to understand, and late work was allowed up until certain points in the semester. She encouraged us to ask questions and was respectful when answering. She cares about her students, and is understanding.

Thank u to prof Mahan. Ive never liked math. I felt discouraged in HS. But I felt welcomed in her class, she creates a safe & comfortable learning environment & she cares about us not just academically but emotionally. This is the1st math class I passed, & I not only got a passing grade, but also the confidence to keep succeeding in future classes.

Her skill for teaching math is incredible, she was an English major before switching to math and it shows. I wish she taught higher level math cause I would definitely take her again. She has a ton of material and recourses that can help you. Don't be afraid to ask classmates for help as she also provides a chatroom for students. Math45- Fall2022

What I really enjoy about this class is the atmosphere and how the professor encourages us to work in groups. I love the way she structures this class and gives us leverage to get our assignments done.I also like the way she teaches and makes everything easier to learn. I wish though class would be longer to give us more time.

i really like the way she teaches this class. the way we go over the notes and how we can turn in late work as well. i like how she give us the opportunity to learn more with our homework instead of it just being busy work

I've always struggle with Math all my life and this is was my second time taking math 47 business calculus. The way she taught the class made me understand it easier and the way the class is formatted is really good and helpful. Her story as well is very inspirational. Thank you to Professor Mahan.

I loved Prof Mahan ever since I took her for college algebra last semester. I loved how she explained & taught everything. Her teaching made me successful in passing my 2 math classes. Hearing her story about growing up in poverty, leaving her country & overall just being a successful bad ass woman. She inspires me to be successful and great.

Taking this class online. I enjoy how interactive this class is. For example, when we are set up in groups to discuss how we feel, she lets us express if we are feeling overwhelmed and gives out pointers to help. I also like that she gives a link all our Zoom recordings. It allows me to go back on notes I missed or if I didn't understand something.

If you are taking this class it will not be easy, there will be hard weeks and difficult topics. However you will get through this Professor Mahan is the perfect person to get you through this course regardless of your level of math. She will touch up on your basics and only improve on this foundation she has built for you.

Professor Mahan has been amazing every step of the way. I love her teaching style. It is full of many analogies and fun substitutes. This class is A LOT of work but as long as you put in the work and time you will succeed. Never miss class (if possible) and come prepared! A graphing calculator is absolutely necessary for this class.

Professor Mahan, was such an inspiring professor she really changed my life not only in my own academic success but life lessons to take with me as well. The course material is really difficult but Professor Mahan has funny ways to teach, like her creative methods on how solve problems and also providing life lessons along with teaching math.

Took Professor Mahan's for statistics in Spring 2024. I failed statistics with a different professor but when I took it with Prof Mahan, I actually fell in love with statistics, she has an energetic and caring personality, expect to use Aleks for homework every week, and a total of 5 tests for the semester. Remember to study and ask questions.

This was my 3rd time taking Math 45 and I was already giving up before it began. A big hurdle I overcame was my shame. I scaled back my hours at work to focus. Professor Mahan taught in a way that clicked with my brain, and it worked. The quips Professor Mahan did in the lessons helped me alot. I never thought I'd do well in this class but I did.

I am honestly very bad at math, but professor Mahan was able to make it enjoyable. She goes through problems during the lectures and how to solve it. Even has a Youtube channel if you need any help on the problems. One of the best professors I've had here in LBCC. As long as you do the Homework and visit office hours, you will do fine.

Professor Mahan's class is challenging but rewarding. She has a unique teaching style with lots of analogies and real-world examples. Though the workload is heavy, utilizing resources like Unstuck study can really help make the material click. Overall, a worthwhile course with an engaging instructor.

This class is so clear and structured and everything builds on previous material. We have access to lecture notes and YouTube lecture videos. The notes are easy to understand, the exam practices are accurate to what I should expect in the actual exam. System is set up for this class so that I can easily catch up when I fall behind. Organized class.

The course can be hard because of the material, but if you just show up and pay attention its pretty easy to pass. She offers many opportunities to improve your grade and she drops two lowest exam scores to also help your grade

First math class I took at a college level and I love the structure of her class. The packets helped everything flow better and made it more organized and clear when studying for tests. Would love to take her again if she teaches other math classes!

TAKE HER!! She is by far the most coolest, sweetest Profes. you will come across in the math Dpt. She is clear in her criteria & she gives 2 days grace period after deadlines. The HW is practically the same info as the test! Asynchronous 8 weeks was a piece of cake!

I really hope I have the opportunity to have such an outstanding instructor again. I really don't know if I could of done it without her as my professor.

Synchronous Zoom class is very easy. Mahan provides notes for each chapter. Most classes start by watching lecture videos, then occasionally pausing for practice problems. HW and quizzes are online and consist of easy problems, with a 3-day grace period. Exams are easy, as you are allowed a full page for a cheat sheet.

So far I have an A in the class. I honestly am not the best when it comes down to math, or that's what I thought of. But honestly Professor Mahan has made STATS super easy to navigate. The class is on Zoom but when I have to miss it, I could rewatch the lectures.
