The last student clearly didn't try or go up to her for help. This was one of the easiest A I have ever gotten, and the ONLY class I've ever looked forward to attending every day.

Dr. Pencoe is the best biology professor ever. Definitely take her class, show up for her lectures, the explanation helps, but also make sure you study the questions from the study guide, cd, and end of the chpt questions. Tests are multiple choice. She's very nice and approachable.

Very good professor. Tests are multiple choice, big on slide shows, dislikes non-note takers. Study her notes, they are your biggest help for Science Foundations. Where as for biology study CD, study guide, and chapter reviews and questions.

Dr pencoe changing...she is gettin harder..when i took 1107 she was mad easy...got an easy B with just studying the studyguide and the cd ...when i took her again for 1108 she had changed....the test got harder, its no more just from the cd and study guide book.. u have to actually read and understand the material inorder to pass the test.Good Luck

Pencoe is a prime example of what a professor should be like. She is down to earth, witty, and extremely smart. This woman has knowledge that I can't even begin to image. It shows that she is a true lover of the subject. Her class is challenging but you will feel very accomplished once it's finished. She is the best prof. in the dept. Good Luck!

Pencoe is fair but always goes by the book! Don't expect test curves or extra credits. You do your part on studying then you are set with her because she has the best powerpoint notes and she will clearly lecture it. A perfect science professor!

Great class. I took her over the summer and she was very accommodating to my summer trip. I learned so much in her class. She made it Ok to get up at 8:00 am. The lab, on the other hand, was terrible.

she's easy if you study, but she is very hard if you don't. you may think you know what she is talking about in class but come test time you will be totally confused if you dont study or dont exactly understand.

Awesome teacher! Her lectures aren't just consisted of reading slides, she actually gets into her lectures and explains things very well. Her tests are not hard if you go to class. She will help you, and have a good attitude about it. Her lectures aren't confusing; this coming from a person that asks a lot of questions. Take her class!!

Pencoe is one of the best teachers i have ever had. she teaches off of powerpoint but she explains everything extremely well. class is not easy, but i think thats the same for all 1107 classes. study notes, the study guide that came w/ the book, and the cd that came w/ the book and you will make a good grade

This class was so interesting!! It is very hard to keep my attention during lectures, but she actually had me anticipating going to class every other day!! I loved this class even though it was very time consuming! I really recommend her to anyone wanting to pursue a Biology degree!

Dr. Pencoe's class has been my favorite! Her lectures are actually easy to listen to and she's very funny. The tests are straight from the notes and book. They're only easy if you study those two things. But, she is a great professor! Take her!

Awesome teacher, I had her for 1107 and 1108 and wish I could have had her again. Although attendance isn't mandatory, you need to be there to understand the material. She explains things clearly and i s funny.

She was a fantastic teacher. All the tests were multiple choice, but sometimes difficult. She likes to make you think through things. Prepare to take a lot of notes, and prepare yourself for a boring lecture.

She is awsome, the best teacher yet. If you have to take biol. 1107 and 1108 take her. You will come out knowing your stuff. You do have to take a workshop class too, but its not too bad.

I'm NOT a science person, but Dr. Pencoe made me want to be a biology major. Her class is so fun & interesting. She gives great notes and you just have to memorize them to make an A. There's a LOT of material, but if you can memorize well, you should do great. You don't need the textbook unless you have a workshop, but the study guides are helpful.

I took A&P in the summer which I would not recommend for anyone!! but Dr. Pencoe made this class interesting and I managed to learn more than I ever thought possible in 7 weeks!! She is an amazing teacher and really makes you excited to learn what she is talking about!!

She was enthusiastic and witty on the first day of class. I can tell that she loves teaching biology. Her teaching methods are based off her research on how students learn so she makes her students have to write the notes and come to class. 5 tests, there dates & times are chosen by each student for each test except final exam

I had to drop her class. She's extremely knowledgeable but way too fast for me. I can't copy all those notes and write down what she verbally adds before she's off and running on the next point. Loved her in lab though. She stayed late and gave lots of extra help to those of us who needed it long after the crowd was gone. She needs to slow down.

Shes a good and clear teacher. Her teaching method uses alot of real life examples that makes the course interesting. Expect to take notes extensively from her powerpoints and a clicker quiz every class. Quizes are varied difficulty, but mostly easy. Expect to study on a daily basis for the quizes and buy the study guide for the tests.

She's a really great teacher and usually teaches introductory biology. I've had her for both my 2107 and 2108 and I've learned so much over the year. If you can get Dr. Pencoe, she's probably the best bio teacher you could get.

Extremely hard tests in lab. She loves to teach lab and it shows. She's quite helpful during lab, but outside of class - forget it! I'm in danger of losing my 4.0 average because of these hard lab practicals (and I study ALOT). Extra credit is not in her vocabulary (her words). Will not take her again unless I have to.

She's very enthusiastic and energetic! You can tell she is very into what she's teaching. I never saw myself falling asleep in her class. Just study for her test using her notes esp the online study guides.. it will come in handy! I would just say she's not an easy A

Although she doesn't take attendance, showing up is very important. Show up everyday and listen to her lecture and its an easy A. Skip class and it will be hard to learn from the book.

Dr. Pencoe is clear and tells you everything that you need to know for the test. All you have to do is show up to class and memorize the notes that she gives you. All of the test questions come from the notes. Do well on the lab practicals because that will drag down your grade.

I love the way she teaches. Lectures are very engaging and I like how easy it is to copy her powerpoints in class. She is very organized and gives you the #'s to study in your study guide. I like that her tests are multiple choice and how we have clicker quizzes. The quizzes basically mean you have to come to all classes, but they help your grade.

Be prepared to write a lot and look at your book, she tells you exactly what she wants you to learn. She gets excited talking about anatomy which makes you get excited about learning it. Take her if you can!

She is an excellent teacher. Daily class includes a powerpoint lecture which notes are highly recommended because they are not online. After the lecture there is an iClicker quiz. I have made A's on the first 2 tests and have yet to open the book. Attend class, listen, and take notes and the class should not be too difficult. Just a lot of info.

She is a professor that knows her info. With lecture and lab combined, it is pretty simple to pass. I received an A. Do not miss class she gives a sht load of notes everyday......

Dr. Pencoe is the best Biology professor the department has. Notice, no one will say that her class is easy but everyone RESPECTS her. Read the chapter before class. Study the lecture notes. There is a quiz after EVERY lecture. Test are cumulative, long, and multiple choice. There is a workshop. Missing class is not an option. Study text pics.

This class is pretty easy. The material is simple. You don't need a textbook since all exams are from lecture notes. You do need to go to class since she doesn't post notes online, and after every lecture you take a clicker quiz.

You can't go to UWG and avoid Pencoe. I have taken her twice. She is so passionate about what she does and it shows. But if you don't want a lecture heavy class I would not take her. Her tests are on the difficult side but very do able if you give effort. Clicker quizzes will kill your grade. GO TO CLASS PREPARED.

She is one of the best professors in the bio department. She explains everything in detail. Always study for her exams a few days before the test because there is a lot of material to review. Her test are a little difficult, but just study. There are clicker questions every single day so you have to know your material from the previous class.

My one piece of advice for this class would to be never skip class or come very late. Pencoe never once cancelled class even when the the projector was out and she starts class on time every time. This is to not scare people away, but a warning that if you don't come to class you'll struggle on test. If you want to not study, be attentive in class

Daily clicker quizzes at the end of each class (she raises these quiz grades at the end of the semester so don't worry if you don't do well). Hefty amount of homework on LaunchPad. Dr. Pencoe is a GREAT educator. Every class consists of lecture and a clicker quiz at about the last five minutes of class. The quizzes are about what you talk about in class so they aren.t that difficult. You definitely won't pass the tests if you don't study. She makes it interesting so you won't get bored if you are interested in biology.

Pencoe is my favorite teacher because she reminded me why I chose to be a Bio major. Her lectures are powerpoints that you will need to write down because her test and notes are strongly correlated. Clicker questions will be given at the end of class over the last class to make sure her students are using the info given. TAKE HER!!:)

Doctor Pencoe is one of my favorite professors at the UWG. She is such an amazing teacher who makes something as boring as the Calvin cycle fun. Even though she covers a lot in her lectures, you will still end up understanding all the information given. Also she can be tough at times but if you are struggling you can ask her for help.

Dr. Pencoe is the BEST teacher that Ive taken since I started school. She really really make you work for your grade, something a lot of teachers dont ingain the importance of. Youre left with a lot of knowledge that you can take with you and you can go to her about anything! But beware: she makes a lot of eye contact HAHAHAH

She has 5 tests that you take online (each around 80 multiple choice questions) and a written final (100 multiple choice). The clicker quizzes and online homework give you a good grade boost. Make sure to write most of her PowerPoints down but she explains the material in a way that helps you remember it easier. Loved her and would take her again!

Pencoe was a great professor. She has powerpoints everyday and as long as you go to class and write down her powerpoints and study them exactly as is, her tests should not be hard. She gives you all the information you need. She does clicker questions everyday at the end of class from last class material and she is straight to the point.

Favorite bio prof so far! TON of notes, but if you STUDY & write down EXACTLY as she has them, you'll do great. 5 tests-EACH IS CUMULATIVE! One exam (not final) gets dropped. Study guides, but get answers on your own. WRITE FAST-won't go back slides to get everything in. Clicker quiz each class,5-6 quests. Super sweet- doesn't take crap or excuses!

Dr. Pencoe can come off a bit unfriendly, but she is kind once you get to know her. Either way, her lectures are VERY material-heavy, but if you take in-depth notes AND study them well, you will do fine on her exams-which are LONG. Exams DO follow material almost exactly, though. No exam make-ups, curves, or extra-cred. Homework required but easy.

I personally loved Dr. Pencoe. She's nice and funny, and explains hard material in a way that's extremely easy to understand. There's a lot of homework, usually an online mastering assignment every day to every other day, but they're easy and give your grade a good boost. Take lots of notes from her PowerPoints and you'll do well on her tests.

Professor gives amazing, interactive lectures. Tests are tough, and you definitely have to study, but she gives you everything you need to succeed in the course.

Dr. Pencoe is an amazing professor that gives in-depth lectures and helps students to truly understand what they are learning. The class is mostly graded off of 6 tests that come straight from the lectures. The tests are quite long and specific, but studying the lecture notes and doing the online assignments will greatly prepare you for them.

Amazing and passionate professor, she absolutely cares about her craft and is excited to teach it. Tough tests and guidelines, but she is very kind as well and is open to questions. Daily iclicker quizzes for attendance and quiz grades, only gives about 10 seconds per question so think fast. Hard tests so study study! Textbook and clicker required.
