Gives points for attending class. No point in going to class except for the points, lectures weren't helpful for tests. Tests are on Blackboard but they aren't that easy.... if you go to class and make an effor on the test, u should be ok.
Class was awesome... Class isn't mandated but really advised! Great at facilitating the class. Book a little difficult but class was a good clarification. Professor is helpful and always there for students... I'm looking to take more classes with her... It's definitely worth it
Dr. Rogers class is an easy A if you show up! I never did, and I still ended up with a B+. Her tests are on Blackboard, so you never have class on those days and they are difficult unless you can find the exact word for word sentence in the book. She is a cool woman. I have taken her class twice, and both of her TA's were really helpful.
Recieved points for attendence, only reason I went. Tests are all on blackboard which is nice. Study guides and lectures didn't help for test. Will need to buy the book to recieve an A. Her TA was an idiot and didn't know how to grade.
Easy A, online exams, overall good prof. Would take again
DR. Rogers was great, her teaching technique was awesome, she wanted you to learn and had fun teaching, I would take her for all my classes if I had a chance.
Worst experience of my life. This was a Women in Psych class and a lot of her materials were bigoted against women. The textbook was useful but she barely used it. Didn't make her own powerpoints--pulled them off the McGraw hill website. All course work was dated, she hadn't updated anything. Exams were completely unrelated to the ppts and book.
Shes a good teacher makes you want to go to class.
shes good
Awesome class. All exams are on blackboard.. however you do need to put some effort into this class. You need to study for exams, they are challenging. But other than that an easy A if you show up. I've taken her twice and got an A both times. Recommended (but some work involved)
Good Prof. Three classes with her. Three A's
Online tests. Must use your book to pass, but she "doesn't allow it". Must go to class to get participation points. Gives extra credit. Fun teacher.
Nice and interesting professor. Participation points in class, must attend. Easy online exams, optional online final, easy 2 pg. paper on a disorder, interesting class that actually tended to fly by! Take her, its easy!
I've had her for intro and research methods, and i love her! she's hilarious and her exams are easy because they are all online.
Excellent teacher. Exams are all online. In-class participation is a large portion of the grade. She's very funny and I enjoyed the class
Great professor! Very open, helpful, and funny. The grading isn't too difficult, but you definitely can't just float through it. I highly recommend.
I had her for Psych of Gender, which turned out to be even more interesting than I thought. She gave great lectures & was really fun, & she even encouraged discussion despite the huge class size. 2 things, though: make sure to complete assignments & always show up. The points don't seem like much, but they add up quicker than you think!
Always go to class and complete the assignments. The points really add up. Her tests are online and make sure you read the book because some of the questions are in there. She is a really cool teacher who is fun to listen to. I highly recommend her and this class!
WORST class I have ever taken. Other than the fact that the tests are impossible, she cannot manage to post correct directions for any assignments, even though she has 4+ TA's. The workload is UNREAL. Unless you're majoring in Psychology, do not take this class- you are only wasting a momentous portion of your life.
This class was extremely hard. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND taking her online. She gives an immense amount of work and her tests are EXTREMELY hard even after reading and studying the material. Her TA's do all the grading and she is not involved at all with the class except for sending out reminders when all our work is due.
Professor Rogers is a very good speaker and keeps you laughing and makes you pay attention. A very good teacher. I learned alot from her and she is a very fun talker. Test are easy if you look at the notes she goes over.
Honestly i did not like this class. She is a grea teacher and her test are online but thing is alot of her test are unclear. Like she'll ask questions where all of the answers are almost identicle , which made the test hard even when you were cheating and looking at the book. I study for her test then would still have the book out & be dumbfounded
Nancy Rogers is hilarious and fun to be around, but she's a terrible teacher. Her lectures are scattered and unclear and her tests are basically the same. She's a lovely person, don't get me wrong, I just don't recommend this class with her due to the general nonsense that takes place.
She's a very nice woman, and keeps the class interesting and is interested in what the students have to say and their opinions (which is great). But, the tests and lectures have very little to do with each other. Spending time and noticing every detail of the text book is crucial. The answers on the multiple choice test are basically identical.
test are hard. makeup work for missing a class was difficult to figure out. expectations were unclear
Great professor ..as a person. She engages students, makes lectures interesting, and listens to students opinions/thoughts. Even if you pay attention in class, you HAVE to read the textbook. The tests actually don't have much to do with the tests at all, which is confusing. And multiple choice answers are very confusing.
She is such a fun teacher! You have to go to class because she takes attendance through note cards. Get the book and read it because all the test questions come from it. Fun class but still don't sleep on it.
She is ok, I would say you have to give an average effort in her class. She seems like a nice professor. Her online test are straight from the book and you have to read at the material at least twice before you take it in order to do really well.
Great:)
Very good professor. She's good at keeping the material interesting for students. Tests are a little hard, but they're multiple choice and you can take a makeup to replace your lowest grade. You'll have to do a little work, but as long as you do it well, you'll get a good grade.
Professor Rogers is a great instructor. Her lectures are fun and keep you interested. She keeps attendance with note cards. There are no quizzes, but just tests online. So read the book before class so you can know what's going on during her lectures! Reading and studying are a must in order to do well. Also, I recommend going to the S.I. sessions!
She definitely makes class interesting! She is an extremely nice and approachable woman and is honestly there to help whenever she is needed. The only problem that I have is her tests. They are online and multiple choice, but they are timed and come from a test bank. Therefore, she doesn't teach to the test or book. TAKE GOOD NOTES FROM THE BOOK!!!
Dr. Rogers is hands down one of my favorite professors on campus! She is hilarious, approachable, and most importantly, VERY FAIR. She really just wants her students to succeed. The only thing are that her test are kind of difficult and that is the only time you will need your book because they are online and timed. But she is still GREAT!
Class was interesting but the tests are impossible.
I can not stand this class. Nancy can be a real B sometimes. Do not get me wrong she is very funny and entertaining but the lectures have no value to the tests.I ended up with a B in this clas and have no idea how I did that. Its an easy pass class as long as you dont bomb your tests that are completely irrelevant to lecture, very unhelpfull
Although it's an intro course, it's not necessarily an easy A. Tests are open-book and online, but there are so many anti-cheating regulations and so much material in 35 questions that they're nearly impossible. She offers plenty of extra credit and make-up opportunities and does her best to interact with such a large class.
She is really funny and nice! The tests were fairly difficult, but everything is right out of the book. And somehow at the end of the year you'll end up with a grade better than you thought since there's a fair amount of extra credit.
Worse professor I've ever had. The tests are from the book not at all from her notes or lectures. On the tests the answers could be either one or another. Her instructions are useless because she changes it later on anyways. I got a B and I normally get A's. Group Projects and attendance mandatory. Totally unorganized and spacey. Never take her !
I thought the class was pointless. Quizzes were confusing and not specific enough. She is a nice person, but I would not recommend this class.
Best professor I've ever had!
Her TAs are always awesome and it's a great class to take. Assignments are not hard but tests can be tough if you don't have the book. Tests are open book and online though so that's always nice.
I took the capstone with Nancy because I had her in the past. In the capstone she was completely different. The whole project was a mess. There was no plan in place at the very beginning and when we came up with a plan it was rushed through making everything frustrating. There are other professors who's capstone class are a lot better.
I didn't like her online personality course. It wasn't well organized and it definitely felt like I always had something due everyday. She's not good. I wish I would've taken this in-class.
Her class sucks. It lacks organization and you're scrambling to do group projects and stupid class projects weekly. The tests were difficult and she doesn't really help students prepare for the exams. Overall, I'd say avoid this class all together or take at Blue ash or clermont. I usually make A's and I'm struggling to maintain a B.
Even though this is an online class, the professor has no chill. Materials due every week and little help provided. I hate this class because of the ridiculous amount of busy work.
I've taken many online courses, but hers is by far the most confusing online class I have ever encountered. I am truly amazed at just how confusing her blackboard page was to follow. I'm not sure she could have made it more confusing if she tried. It is a real struggle to find instructions and due dates for assignments. AVOID!
Avoid thats all
I really enjoyed this professors class. Overall, she was very professional. The exams were a little difficult but they're online and you get 3 chances. I worked my butt off. I struggled at the beginning but I learned how to take her exams and my group ended up helping me a lot through the course. Also she slightly curves the grade at the end. TAKE!
Instructor requires class participation "exercises", gives point values even though exercises give very little further understanding of the material and the in-class lectures provide zero insight into what the exams will encompass. A 2000 level course, instructor has 4000 level expectations of students. Course structure also ambiguous. PIMA...
Nancy Rogers is charismatic, humorous and smart. She does her best to be as clear about instructions as possible, even though they are not sometimes, however she is still willing to clarify when needed. She's also pretty consistent with the syllabus routine/schedule in regards to assignments, assessments as well as in-class lectures and activities.
Absolutely love her!
I think that Nancy gets a bad rap. She's hilarious, her lectures are really entertaining, and overall the class wasn't difficult at all. I would definitely recommend her.
Very funny, but not the best at teaching. She didn't explain the group project very well until almost the end of the semester, and the group project was something we were supposed to work on all semester. Got good test grades without paying much attention in class. Got angry when we asked for clarification on the group project several times.
I'm surprised to see bad reviews. I think she's the best Professor at UC. This isn't the easiest class, but if you do you're reading it's an easy A! There is busy work, but that stuff is to help your grade. There is a group project but it's over one topic and 5-8 people in the group, it's SUPER simple if you just DO it. Loved her!
Very goofy professor, in a good way. The tests come from the book test bank so the book is necessary. The class is set up in a way that if you put in effort, it's an easy A. Definitely a good professor, she has many students from her other classes in this class too. Highly recommend!!!
Tries to make her lectures enjoyable, has good examples for the concepts. I barely paid attention in the class, easy A! Just show up for the attendance points and do the homework, you'll be fine.
Shes a very difficult professor. She has everything due on one day which is annoying and its not even due at 11:59 pm like regular teachers. Her lectures are very informative and her instructions are very unclear. She doesnt even give extra credit to try to help your grade. I dont understand why she teaches a 2000 course like its a 4000 course
She is a nice PERSON but not a good professor. Her lectures are entertaining but dont exactly mirror the homework you have to do. She does not give clear instructions. I wouldnt recommend taking her class.
This is the second of Nancy's classes that I have taken, and I really enjoyed it. She is very funny, respectable, and has a lot to share with her students. It can take time getting used to her teaching style, because she does not just hand the answers to you. The TA's are a good resource for any questions when it comes to the group project.
i love dr. rogers she's the best, so much respect for her. i love going to class and getting genuine feedback and good discussion
Nancy is hilarious and makes class very interactive & fun. I had her for personality psych and psych in the workplace. She doesn't have the best lectures, so the book is helpful for sure, but there are easy, in class assignments for participation so go to class. All tests are online, open book and easy. Not much homework, but if there is, it's easy
Nancy is my favorite psychology professor so far. Her class was very easy and her lectures were fun to attend. Only bad thing about the lectures was that the power points were kinda bad. You should take notes on what she says and not what's on the power points. Just read the book (which is very interesting btw) and pay attention in class.
Loved her. Do the work! Lots of research.
She makes sure that the workload is not super heavy and plans the course well.
Love her!! Such an amazing personality and ensures that students know the concepts thoroughly. In order to do well in this class, you have to go to it. Not only is does she provide a lot of information in class, but she grades on attendance. On assignment heavy weeks, she will give the class the week off which is so helpful. Take her if you can.
The only professor that can keep me entertained for a whole hour and a half lecture. She is so funny and the content is so interesting. The tests are kind of hard, but the pars and projects are easy and fun. Loved the class and learned so much definitely recommend her.
She's a great professor and a people person. You should definitely attend class in person, it's worth it.
Lectures were always entertaining and she genuinely cares about her students. A lot of the time we did an assignment in class that she would count in place of a canvas assignment. 10/10 human being
Her lectures are amazing and she's a good teacher, but she's disorganized and her directions are unclear. Her canvas page hasn't been updated in months. I'm in her spring course and it still says things are due in October. She didn't give me an excused absence when I went to my grandma's funeral (I got points off for going)
She is one of my favorite professors I have had and I definitely recommend her just because of her personality. The homework is due after tests but we really do not have that much homework. Exams are online and you can use notes. We have to turn in a paper at the end of class for participation but it does not affect your grade that much.
Keeps everyone very engaged during lectures. The projects we do are very useful for our own lives and relationships. 3 online weeks where there are tests and a project, but only small assignments in between. This was my second class with her and she has been my favorite professor so far!!
Professor Rogers is an amazing professor and person. Her lectures were always entertaining and info filled. Her tests were all online and open-book because she believed that test-taking is not easy for everyone. She was very open to any questions asked in class and had discussions throughout the lectures with different students.
She's super easy going and such a great professor. There was one week where I couldn't do my PAR assignments because of an emergency and even though her syllabus says no late work she was able to give me an extension with minor late penalties (it was like 3 pts taken off). Super engaging lectures, easy A if you go to class and do the homework.
Professor Rogers has easily been one of my favorite professors ever! She is humorous and charismatic which makes long lectures easy to sit in. Her lectures are informative and she gives a week off to students on weeks where assignments are due. Attendance is necessary in order to succeed as it is for part of the grade
One of my favorite professors!
Class overall is pretty easy. Just lots of homework and chapter exams. She opens assignments in sections so you can work ahead or at your own pace.
Nancy is a pleasant person and loves to crack jokes with her students. Make sure to come to class and be prepared to engage in class discussions during lectures. Do the homework and keep the book handy. She's rather disorganized and some directions were unclear but wouldn't mind taking a class from her again.
She is a good professor but her TA's were very inconsistent in grading. For the online class, there were a lot of different ways to retain the information (read, PowerPoint, her video, extra videos/resources).
This professor didn't seem to care much about how the students did and clearly did not feel that it reflected her teaching. She does not respect disability services and declines accessibility resource requests. The grading scale in this course is difficult to understand and you will not know your actual grade until the last week of classes.
I'm surprised that she teaches conflict resolution. With the examples she gives, she seems like a horrible friend. She even mentioned how she would talk bad about one friend with her other friends due to the one friends anxiety. Her instructions were very hard to understand for papers and she rarely explained clearly. I have no clue how I got a B.
She's very hard to approach when you have questions . And when asked she tries to move on not answering what you need asked . Projects are confusing and not explained well in class so many are left with confusing instructions.
Professor Rogers is the best. I had her for PSYC2015 and PSYC3065, and now I am a TA for her PSYC3065 class. She is genuinely one of the funniest people ever. She is a very entertaining teacher and truly cares about her students. She is very passionate about her work. 10/10.
This was hands down the best teacher I've had. Rogers is very upbeat and leaves wonderful comments on everything that you do also offers extra points. In the class itself, you will learn a great deal about yourself and others. Although it may seem like a lot, it's actually quite manageable and easy. I think everyone should take this class!!
I have nothing against prof Rogers besides the amount of work she gives. For an all online class, it is the most assignments given out of any I have taken. They are not super hard but are time consuming. She has ta's grade assignments and honestly they grade pretty harsh. It is a fine course but get ready to write!
Avoid this class. The material is easy but dumped HOURS of work during "online weeks". Exam questions make no sense. She also makes extremely creepy and inappropriate comments. One class we had to turn in a paper that asked if we thought heaven was real and had to say if we thought certain inflammatory political figures were going to heaven.
