NIce fun class
I loved this class. We watched a variety of wonderful movies. We saw everything from Pulp Fiction to Singing in the Rain. Read the chapters and take decent notes about the movies and you'll ace it.
Spacey, and unorganized. Can be fun at times but teaching style is very unclear and sparatic. Not the best theater arts teacher to learn from!!!!
So unorganised! An easy class but she never stays on track with any subject. She losses papers and you will never know when anything is due because the due dates change every class. If you are an organised person avoid this woman. She'll drive you nuts.
This teacher is the most unorganized teacher I have ever come across. She missed class more than I did. The writings assignments were super easy. The tests, however, were hard because she would tell us to study one thing but test us another.
she is very helpful and made the class fun a tought me how to be more open with acting and people in general
weird grading. She drops you worst test, but not if it's the final which is just another test, so if you get all A's but for some reason bomb the final you could get a D in the class. I don't understand this, you would do better if she just didn't drop a test. she's weird.
Great teacher!! She is a lot of fun and she exlpains the films well with interesting details and great insight. She really knows her movies and helps you understand how they work.
to put it bluntly, she is a nice person. however, getting a direct answer on what you did wrong will get you nowhere. She will tell you to analyze yourself and what you did wrong. Didn't work for me, but overall, its an easy B at worst, as long as you show up. A's aren't too hard to get though....
Can't believe this woman is an instructor. Lectures (rantings)were comprised of talking about her personal experience in theatre and berating other students when their opinions conflicted with her own. NEVER any structure. She's frequently tardy, unorganized, mixes up assignments & deadlines with other classes. A strange & scary experience.
unorganized, forgetful, gives long drawn out feedback on performance. easy A if you deserve it. take someone else
Interesting...very interesting. ALWAYS late, unorganized...but...not all that difficult of a class. Interesting.
This is the class I look forward to attend every TTH. Her approach to teaching is fun. I love the games we play! She's awesome.

Nancy Silva is a horrible teacher! I gained more from High School Drama than I did from her advanced Theater class. She is consistantly late to class and unprepared. She brings her animal rescues to school with her. She assigns things and forgets about them, or asks for things she hasn't assigned. All in all, she's a mess!
VERY EASY CLASS. You just show up and watch movies. Tests are cake, I only showed up to class 50% of the time and still got an A. You can ask her questions, she is a nice lady. Brings her animals to school, kinda wierd but whatever, as long as they don't drop a duece duece on any of my stuff I'm cool
Easy class...that's about it. Oh yeah, she late all the time, disorganized, and is a little weird on some school policies. If you're in one of her plays it's like a get out class pass for the whole semester. If you want to make things interesting, go to class **** at least once a week and see if she notices. She probably won't
i really want to say something nice about her, so here goes: She's quite the humanitarian. With that aside, she has no place being an instructor, much less a critic of acting. Her knowledge base is limited, as is her ability to help. Pick another class. Also, she has the worst voice of any human being ever. For reals.
I laughed when I read the comments on Nancy. What memories! She is nice but is late, unorganized, spaced out. Also, when I took her class, she had us buy a $45 book that we never used. The author mentioned her in his dedication-may be only reason she had us buy the book. If you're serious about TA, don't take her. It's a waste of time and money.
good person. as teacher, sometimes hard to understand expectations. not always patient. i don't like the fact that we were told to buy a $50 book, which she barely had class use. late frequently.sometimes, fails to show for class, and doesn't bother leaving note on door, to let students know. but the theatre evaluations we must do, are fun.
this teacher is so random.,you will never know what to expect from her, you dont know if shes gonna show up or not, dont beother bying the book, she talks too much...and there is always something wrong when she comes to class, she's always always late...she brings animals to class too, its irritating...but she's a good person in heart
Easy class, but you don't actually learn anything.
teacher not clear. late frequently, and got on other students' case when they were late. i felt this was wrong.wasn't really there for u. i'd go to her office hours, and 1/2 the time, she didn't show. expects class to buy a book, that class barely uses,. this sucks. book not cheap. don't reccomend this teacher,. heard sam williams is better.
I liked Nancy because there wasn't a chance to dislike her. Just go to class, watch movies (or go home and watch it!). Don't buy the book. She gives you the terms you need to know. It's vocabulary memorization. It's too easy. EASY A! Take TA 310 with Nancy!
Easiest class ever. Instructor spoke maybe once. Dont buy the book, she will give u the handouts u need. Watch movies, memorize the film indutry related vocab, get an A. Recommend this instructor over all others.
WOW such an easy class, and she is just as laid back. She will point out in the movies exactly what will be on the test and gives you vocabulary lists to memorize and every list you get has half of the words that was on the prior list. Great class, your watching movies and just looking for certain aspects like lighting or acting.
This woman is crazy. Disorganized, always late, asked for things she never assigned and never collected the things she did assign. Performance evals were way off. When we did well, she'd knock it and when we bombed she'd say it was our best performance! Let her future be in rescue cuz she has no business teaching or critiquing theatre. Take Sam!
Four multiple choice tests, no HW, offers extra credit. Gives a vocab study guide before each test. Choses interesting movies, but you can rent them to watch at home. Don't leave/talk during class, it's rude to others. She leaves class while we watch a film. An interesting lady who knows the subject well, but the class was disappointingly easy.
DONT BUY THE BOOK!... it is a waste of money, The tests ate all vocab words that she gives you, and maby 2 questions about the movies you watch. you dont have to even go to class. EASY A, hella extra credit, just do it.
Professors like Silva should NOT be allowed to impose a grade on anyone. Her teaching skills are so pathetic that it was an insult to pay for this class. Silva is rude, scatter-brained and could not clearly answer one question asked of her. Her selection of films and her opinion of them is all that matters. There is no room for individual thought!
Fun class. This class is for those who are interested in learning basic performance skills. There isn't a whole lot of study and the written work is very easy. There were two scenes we had to perform, and there were a lot of theatre games we played. She follows the book, but you don't have to get it yourself. We don't discuss it in class. Very easy
N. Silva is always late to class, unorganized, looses papers to you turn in and say you didn't turn it in, wishy-washy, a spaz, and un-believably BORING! Her tests have nothing to do with the study guide or most of the text. This is a good class if your intrested in Theatre, Nancy just needs to get organized and wing it so it can be a better class.
She was always late, didn't facilitate good class discussions, and was mostly on her own soapbox.
Professor Silva is a great person. However, the study guides to her tests were totally irrelavant. It was really frustrating to see questions on the exam that asked for the years of events. I enjoyed the material she covered and it wasn't a hard class. She's a good cookie though.
Felt she was just unh.
Awesome teacher! Memorize the study guides, thats basically the test right in your hands. If u do that u shud get an A easily. Don't waste ur money on the book, u DONT need it.
Only thing I remember is when she brought her cat to class. She's interesting to say the least..lots of movie watching but discussions were pretty weak.
This is an easy class to take. Memorize the study guide and you should get at least a B in the class. You just watch movies all class. She usually has a limited availablity but you don't need much!
I love film! I can't stand this prof! She loves to tell us what she thinks, but she's not interested in what we think. Interupts students & brushes them off when they make comments. Terribly disorganized! Have turned in 4 papers so far & got 1 back. Tells you what she wants on your papers on the day they are due! Avoid this woman like the plague!!
shes nuts! showed up 25 min late on the first day, and said it was cuz she doesn't pull in the parking lot till class starts, she seemed really disorganized. said attendance is very important but everything that had points you didnt even do it in class, she said the movies you watch in class are for extra credit. i dropped! DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Easy A if you look at the terms and watch the movie, never once opened the book, but this woman is crazy!!!!! Always 10 to 15 min late. If you like film don't take her! If you want an easy A then deal with the crazy woman!!!
This class is super easy but the teacher is a little weird. Always late to every class, first day she was 20 min late! Watch movies everyday, notes are not mandatory, tests very easy if u study the vocab on study guide. Take if u want an easy A. Dont take if you're really interested in film.
She is super nice and probably one of my favorites. Yes, she is crazy, but the good kind of crazy. She is very enthusiastic about her acting class and helps everyone when she can.
This is probably the easiest class I have taken so far. It's almost too easy. Silva is a really fun professor, however, her attendance is sometimes just as bad as the attendance of some of her students. She is often a few minutes late and she canceled quite a few days of class. If you're looking for an easy A, this is your dream class.
Easiest A I've ever gotten. But the lady is disorganized, constantly late, can't figure out how to run a DVD player! If you want an easy A take her, if you actually like theather and want to learn something don't! If you have a hard time at English, beware she grades as if it was an english class. Some ppl couldn't pass because of poor grammer.
The lady is disorganized, constantly late, can't figure out how to run a DVD player! If you want an easy A take her, if you actually like theather and want to learn something don't! If you have a hard time at English, beware she grades as if it was an english class. Some ppl couldn't pass because of poor grammer. But if you're good at Eng easy A
Expect her to be at least 5 minutes late to class. Only 4 test throughout the semester which are multiple choice. Study guide of terms provided (only thing you need to study). You can tell she is passionate about film and theater arts. Very easy A.
She was late every single day and completely disorganized. However it was one of the easiest classes Ive ever taken. She gives you a study guide with all of the test terms on it, there is no homework and she give E.C. opportunities. Definately an Easy A.
She is crazy. It is an easy A, as long as you regurgitate all her ideas when you write essays. She imposes her ideals on us, and even though she "respects everyone's opinions", she really doesn't. If you don't care about that, take her class. A plus is that there is no need to purchase a book. A minus = 6 essays.
An extremely easy A. Just go over the study guide before exams. Good luck!
Took her for acting for the camera and intro to film. CRAZIEST teacher ever. she's generally nice, but doesnt help you, always late but then gets at you for being late. Pushes her ideas on you so all assignments have to be done her way. easy A if you can survive the semester without wanting to drop. Helps if youre able to get on her good side.
This class was fun. I don't care for Nancy's teaching strategy, but she did do a good job of helping us feel comfortable acting in front of the class. She's nice, but kind of difficult. I enjoyed this class and it was fairly easy to get an A. Don't go first 'cause that's when she explains what she wants by saying what you did wrong.
Super easy class. Only 1 homework assignment out of the book. Only 2 scripts to memorize, but she gave us all semester to do so. Super fun class and an easy A.
Late& disorganized. The films are good, and the only assignments are papers. You learn more from her films than her. Your grade is based on how well you write your papers not what you learned.
I loved her! She was super sweet and funny. So what if she was late all the time who wants class to start on time anyways. The tests are super easy cause there is a study guide that is so easy a caveman can do it. Everyone who let's her personality get to them are way to uptight. God chill. It's a fun class.
She is crazy!!!! She talks about her views on society and presses them onto everyone else, if you disagree, she gets really offended. Her rambling on about everything but movies gets annoying because you get to watch only 20 minutes of the movie that day. Avoid her!!! She is a lunatic.
GENERALLY AN EASY CLASS AS LONG AS YOU CAN WRITE A DECENT ESSAY (SHE CAN BE PICKY WHEN IT COMES TO GRAMMAR AND STRUCTURE). SHE TAKES FOREVER TO RETURN GRADED PAPERS, WHICH REALLY IRRITATED ME, BUT OVERALL AN EASY AND INTERESTING CLASS. HER ODD PERSONALITY CAN BE ENTERTAINING TOO!
this professor was super fun to learn from. she was a little loopy sometimes but very silly. the movies were OKAY but not great. ROSEBUD
silva is an okay professor. she talks way too much before starting a movie and then she usually pauses in between at certain parts. and she doesnt like when youre doing other stuff in the class. id advise take her if you want to see movies, but id try and stay away!
Super easy A! Gives out study guide that is exact copy of test, plus a couple questions about the movies. Only Con is that she does not lecture at all, might give 5min Intro to movie, which sometimes is important to test. Otherwise, super nice and helpful, just not much of a lecture. If you want an easy A, take her!
Very easy A, she even mentioned that it gives the most A's and B's out of all the classes at ARC. Exams are super easy and all you do is, literally, watch good movies the whole class. What can be better?
Prof. Silva did not require a textbook for this class, Diversity in Movies. Sometimes she seems a little scatterbrained but she is a good teacher and only asks that you write at a college level.
If you want an easy A and just want to watch movies, take her class. If you want to actually learn something about film, avoid her like the plague. Rarely on time, always confused, I think there was perhaps a total of a half hour of lecture in the entire class. She just shows movie after movie without pausing for the slightest bit of context.
Do not buy the text book, you never need it. There are four tests (including the final) and all are multiple choice based on the films you watch and a study guide with vocab words. Extremely easy A.
Completely incompetent. She can't work the DVD player, is constantly late, and doesn't actually teach anything. She'll start off saying stereotypes are bad, then show a "representative" film that has every single one you can think of. Doesn't seem to grade papers for content, just writing ability. An easy, infuriating A... If you can stand her.
I took this class to fulfill requirements for graduation, but I ended up learning a great deal. I really enjoyed the class. The instructor was unorganized and lost some papers, but she was very pleasant and willing to work with people. She is very understanding, but often late to class.
She is awsome professor! Thank you very much dear professor Nancy.
took class for humanities. There are 4 tests (including the final, they are multiple choice based on the films you watch and a study guide with vocab words. drops lowest test score. fav movie watched-rebel without a cause
Okay come on guys she is late a lot because she has to walk clear across campus, she never stops for small talk, she is just getting older and a slow walker!! She's a great teacher but if your a quiet person this may not be the best choice because when she critiques you, you will probably take it as an insult. She's sweet, nice and experienced!
She does not teach anything, doesn't seem to care how well any papers are written but only cares where you put your commas. All her assignments are basically the same and the class is monotonous. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS, youll probably regret it and will be frustrated the whole time. i cant stress enough how frustrating this teacher is
Suuuuuuuper easy. Don't buy the textbook, just memorize the study guide and you're golden. The movies you watch are really interesting also. But be warned, if you like to know when class is cancled, you won't like her. Refuses to email away from school so you'll never know when class is canceled until you've already shown up.
My favorite teacher of all time. If you are taking this course just to watch movies, get out now. You have to be a film/theatre major to really appreciate her lectures. She requires you to write a 3-5 page paper on each section, 8 papers in total. They are easy papers IF film is your passion and major- if not, you will not enjoy this class.
This class is one of the easiest class. She will tell you over and over again that you need to read the textbook but it is a lie. 4 multiple choice test. Out of the first 3, the lowest grade is dropped. The multiple choice test consist of 50 questions where around 45 of the questions are vocal (Which she gives you) and 5 is about the movies.
I love this class. Nancy is a really great teacher and I learned A LOT from her. She teaches the Stanislavski method which is a method that I absolutely love. If you do all of the work, put in the time and effort then your acting will be transformed. This is definitely a class that you get out of it what you put into it.
Anyone who claims you don't need the textbook for her class will NOT get an A. Some of her test questions were straight from the book, and not paying attention to the text resulted in the only time I didn't get an A on an exam. Read the text and take good notes on the films and you'll snag an A without too much problem.
Dude, I only attended class on exam days and I've never seen a single movie she featured before in my life. I didn't buy the text-book. Only reason I took the class was because of my girlfriend. I received a B, so I'm not mad.
Very, very easy class. Whether or not you read the book, you have no excuse not to get an A. If you watch the movies and read the study guide once or twice, you're in good shape. If you read the book, which is fairly interesting, you're even better off.
easy a if you pay attention
Here's the class: Show up, watch documentary on group portrayed poorly in film history, watch film on same group being portrayed positively, watch film on the same group on your own, write a simple 4-5 paper, repeat x 4 . No quizzes, no exams. Perfect to fulfill "Race & Ethnicity" requirement for Sac State. Attendance taken every day, at the end.
You sit down watch a movie and leave. The tests are primarily vocab which she gives a study guide for. No homework and unless you do poorly on tests I would just skip the extra credit notes.
Professor Nancy is a good teacher. I took T.A 310 with her, it was easy. You just have watch the films. You don't really need a book, for all her exams are from the study guide. Some of the questions in exam are from the films you watch. You can easily get an A if you have a grip over the study guide, and you relate the study guide with the film
Nice instructor passionate and straight forward! Fifteen films shown during summer semester & four exams. Extra credit offered through movie notes and one written assignment. At semester's conclusion, student's lowest exam score is dropped from average. Exam content comes from given study guide. Textbook isn't priority. Enjoyable class!
Didnt buy the book. Didnt need it. Gives you a study guide for each test. Drops the lowest one.
Total of 4 exams, final is mandatory. Gives extra credit points at the end of the semester if you take notes on the films as well as an optional essay. Must watch all the films if you want an A grade on the exams. She gives out study guides for each exam that have vocabulary terms. Textbook was not necessary. Easy A.
The class is SO easy. You can skip a few days but not too many because it's slightly harder to pass the tests that way. But even then it's still an easy A. The tests are the easiest tests ever taken, all you do is memorize the study guide and watch the film. I recommend this class if you want to take a breather between your other classes.
The textbooks are generally not required. If you want to buy the text, an out of date version will work. Her tests are very heavily vocabulary based, with a few questions about films watched. I enjoyed the class, but I wish there were more lecture about film. Generally, we got out early, a time I wish was spent on lecture and analysis. Easy class.
It's not rocket science people. Show up, watch movies about poor representation on groups of people and write paper. There are no tests or quizzes. Just 4 essays that are 3-4 pages long. Simple.
By far the easiest class ive ever taken. All you do is watch movies for the lectures. She hands out study guides on the first day of the new section and is word for word on the exams. She does quiz you on the movies so pay attention. Drops the lowest exam score. DO NOT GET THE TEXTBOOK. literally all you need is her study guides. class is a breeze
professor Nancy class is not hard to pass. Basically, you watch movies and take test on the study guides than she hands out. There are 4 tests and she drops the lowest grade. She gives extra credit in the end of the semester. Also, you movie notes will be add as extra points for your final. They are optional. Don't buy the book, she never uses it.
If you want to be an actor you NEED to take Nancy's class. Once you get to acting 2 she assumes that you are a serious actor so she treats you like one. She has tons of experience so she knows the things you need to know to make it in a 4 year school and in the real world. Its an acting class. Just put in the time and you'll get a lot of out of it.
Easy class. Watch documentaries and films about different people who are poorly represented in film and then she talks about whatever you just watched. 4 essays and a 5th essay as a final. Offers extra credit.
This class is painfully easy, but she is a horrible professor. Class starts, she goes on a rant about whatever movie she is going to show, we watch it and we leave. 3 exams, she drops the lowest of the 3. Required to take a final. The exams are of 5 chapters at a time. I haven't even opened the book and have gotten 30/40 on them.
Took her again for History of Film after Intro to Film. Basically the same, 3 tests plus a mandatory final, she drops the lowest of the 3 tests. Chance for extra credit by submitting your movie notes and/or a small essay. Show up, watch the movies, understand the vocabulary on the study guide as it was is literally on the tests, and you'll pass!
You take 4 tests in total. 3 are unit tests and the last one is a mandatory, non-cumulative final. She drops your lowest score of the unit tests. Don't buy the textbook! It's a total waste of money because her exams are entirely based off study guides and the movies you watch. Buy flashcards and study the vocab for a couple hours. She's very sweet!
All you do in her class is watch films and take 4 multiple choice tests on what you watched. 90% of the test is literally WORD TO WORD from the study guide she gives. She will go over the film for 15 min before the start and will give out 5% of the remaining 10%. Also offers easy extra credit. Just memorize study guide THOROUGHLY and its an EASY A.
Took this class over summer, all she did was lecture about the movies & then we'd watch them. Take notes on the movies, they are worth extra credit. 4 exams, she drops the lowest one. Don't buy the textbook, tests are based on study guides and vocab. Overall an Easy A.
Nancy Silva is a great professor, In her Diversity in American Film class she shows us documentaries and movies about various cultures. No homework, 1 essay for each of the topics
Prof. Silva is very easy. 1 essay for each topic discussed in class. No homework. Attendance counts.
Professor Silva is nice, the class is straight forward. You watch movies and then take take a total of 4 test, she drops your lowest grade. The only reason you wouldn't pass is if you don't study for the test and even then its just vocab. Its an easy class and she offers extra credit.
This is an easy A class. You don't need the textbook, study all the vocab she gives you on the study guides and watch the movies and you'll pass with an A. I rate her with a 3 just because for someone who would actually wanna learn something about the movies this class will be boring and useless. If you need a grade then it's for you.
If you memorize the terms on the study guide you'll get an A. The book is nice if you want to read and learn more but it wasn't used much she only assigns a few questions from it per exam, and it's kind of expensive. She's a nice person and I enjoyed her lectures. Overall it was a nice class with interesting movies I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Do not take this course if you don't have strong writing and grammar skills. Expect to write 4-5 essays in MLA format.
Silva changed the way I view films. Everything you learn is super interesting and it's a fun, easy class. The exams are all on the vocab and match the term with the definition. Watch movies and study the vocab.
all you do literally is watch movies and she'll talk what's the movie about, for extra credit take notes about the movies, 4 tests that you'll have to take she'll drop the lowest score the test are LITERALLY BASE ON THE VOCAB if you are good in memorizing vocabulary word then you will definitely pass, she's pretty cool but very strict on phones.
Super easy A. You can probably get by without having watched any of the movies, just read the plot on Wikipedia or IMDB. Tests are mostly vocab words. The final is the same as the other exams, not cumulative. I didnt even watch the last three movies and got the same score as the other exams. She makes it so easy to get an A.
DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. I passed this class with 100% without using the textbook or watching any of the movies. Its an easy class. TEST IS ALL ON VOCAB only few on the movies. Textbook isnt required and shes super laid back. Take her online class so you can just cheat. Very nice and sweet teacher
You will watch a lot of films in this class. Since this was an 8-week summer course, you will be watching 1 to 2 films per week. The only thing she assigns is 10 questions (5 per film) from the movie and textbook, which you need to answer. There are Zoom meetings, but not every week. Finally, there are 3 exams and you have 35 min to answer 60 qs.
Easiest class. Didn't watch a single movie and earned an A. Found PDF of book online so didn't have to buy. Horrible quality though. Sometimes really rude, and VERY disorganized. Canvas was really disorganized and looked like she made the canvas shell the day before class started. Took forever to respond to emails. Its an easy class but bad quality
This is the first class I took coming back from a 10 year break. It was a summer class and super easy A.+ %101.88. Watch movie, read a chapter and answser 5 questions for homework. Test is HEAVY on study guide terms and questions about movies watched. Also chance for extra credit.. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST TAKING THIS CLASS - SUPER NICE AND EZ
Watch the required movies, answer the homework questions and you will do well in your exams. Professor tries to only ask the homework questions that will pop up in your exam, so focus on those questions. Attend and/or watch her zoom lectures and you will get extra credit points, many times she helps answer homework questions so these are helpful.
She takes forever to grade things I had to wait until January for grades on assignments due in October and mind you these assignments were simple are you wrong or right on questions. She also forces her political agenda on her students. Love film but this is not a professor Id suggest for the topic
We watched one film per week (sometimes two), and answer questions for it. Gave clear instruction in online meetings, and many exam questions are from those meetings. Plus, gives extra credit just for watching the zoom recording.
Watched 1-2 movies each week, with questions for each film. Extra credit for watching the Zoom recording. One essay overall to include all topics discussed, and a few exams.
Had to watch one to two films per week with questions to answer for each. Exams are based these questions and her Zoom lectures. Extra credit given by joining or watching Zoom.
Simple 5 q homework.Textbook is a bad read but hw answers are easy to find. Study guide is only the terms for the exams (make quizlets for them it helps) has zoom study sessions for help or ec. Exams aren't that easy. Gives half the time as number of questions. Know your terms and you'll have plenty of time for the other questions. Wonderful class!
She is the worst professor I have ever had. I've asked why she graded a submission an 8/10 and got no responses. Instead, she will say, "question 2 is wrong," and won't tell you why. Overall easy class, though. Spend your GE classes elsewhere.
The class is very cut and clear. 1 Assignment a week and watch 1 movie a week. You get a study guide which is just vocab words and the exams are a mix of the study guide and the movie. The class is plain and simple. If you are looking for a class to add on to a heavy load, this class is perfect for that.
If you're a movie lover, take this class. Silva was super amazing and you get to watch a wide variety of movies. Homework consisted of a few questions you needed to answer while watching the movie. Tests are pretty easy if you know the terms which are not hard to learn at all along with knowing information about that weeks movie. Would take again!
She picks great movies, provides some pretty good commentary in my opinion, just takes a really long time to grade, that might not be a big deal because in the end you'll get the grades back, but really she'll go months without grading anything.
The worst professor I have ever had. She's very disorganized and takes a long time to answer emails, if she answers them at all. 40-minute exams with two essay questions and 20 multiple choice.
Be prepared to watch older historical great movies that show diversity in film and the different struggles of each group. Mrs. Silva was awesome! Had a blast! Learned a lot! See things through a different perspective for sure. Glad I took this class! Sean
Here's an honest review- EASY class. If you need the credits, take this! You watch 1 film and read 1 chapter a week, and answer basic questions. Prof. is very caring, nice and an easy grader. She is good at responding, and she throws in some fun movies like Blade Runner. This is a great 4th class if you have 3 stressful ones.
Don't bother reaching out to her. She takes literal weeks to months to respond if she even does. When asked for feedback or where I was wrong when I was deducted points, she didn't respond. The class is really easy but lacks any attempt to provoke thought or a deeper interest in film. Catered to men, TW for a long SA scene in a REQUIRED movie.
I really like her & the zoom appointments she sets up to interact with us & asking questions about HW. I'm not really into watching movies, as I get distracted easily, but most of the selection given by her are great. Some of them I've watched before too, so I didn't have to purchase them. She just.. takes a long time grading.
Probably one of the easiest classes with one of the worst professors. She is two months behind on grading assignments and if you get an answer wrong, she doesn't tell you the correct answer. Complains a lot on her zoom classes and takes forever to respond to messages. I did really enjoy the textbook though.
Great teacher. Late grader Not Harsh on Noobs I took her 3 times Easy A. Read the work & so the quizzes. Will miss her as she retired last year
This professor does not teach material well at all and does not go over correct answers for assignments. If I could, I would switch professors as soon as possible. Good luck
I would switch professor's if it was possible. This professor does not teach/explain very well. Most of the time she gives the class an assignment and we have that one assignment to do for 3 hours. It seems like a waste of my time and money. Whoever has this class, good luck.
Very easy class. Wasn't super interesting to me because we went over a lot of very old movies and I sometimes had a tough time following. She only assigns one assignment a week with 5 super simple questions about the films & reading that was assigned. Overall super straightforward and the easiest class I've taken!
