She makes you know the stuff. Tough but fair. Practice old tests and you'll pass
An awesome teacher and a strict grader. Practice and review everything!

Very good teacher that explains very well
Shows many examples, and teaches well; strict grader
The awesomest teacher ever. Really makes you know your stuff.
she'll make u know it if u want to pass
Is constantly making mistakes, jumps around, doesnt convey material well

she copies from the book to the board, and gives impossibly hard test
Great Teacher, explains very well, very helpful, HARD TESTS!!!!
keep on top the work..maple projects are ez....Don't fall behind!!!
hard but thorough
Very diffucult and flys though everything.
HARD! Tests on all the exceptions to the rules.

She's hard on test but fair. She's kinda sexy
Looks good in the summer (wink wink)
good teacher, kinda tough, good prof to learn the material with
Lots of material, so little time
Is very helpful, wants you to learn the material. Is fair and understanding.
An amazing professor! I would highly recommend to anyone
Drop her if you have her, cuz she'll just fail you... and woops! can't teach for
goes VERY fast, tests are difficult, explains well
Don't worry only HALF the class fails!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drop Her. actually doing well in the class, but no thanks to her. Horrible Prof
Goes through stuff fast, just study well, do the homework, and pass
Moves fast, tough tests, you're gonna work
looks good on the softball diamond, she can catch for me any day
No Comments
her tests are hard, and she moves fast, but if you do your work you will learn
SHe is awsome, but touch.
She sucks, she doesn't explain well and gives you hardest problems on tests!
nice fun to joke around with, done homework, study youll be fine
very hot, very hard, but fair. you will learn and have to work. good prof
Good teacher, but tests are VERY HARD
I would learn the material, she would confuse me so that I had to relearn it
Lets just say I understood DIMITROV more than her! (need I say more?)

She's a hottie. very helpful. Awsome for Calc 1 but calc 2, she's kinda sucky. Will make you understand the stuff, but exams are hard as f. But definitely take her for calc 1 she's good for that class. But calc 2 work hard or hit the dirt.
Good Teacher. Knows what she is talking about. Must do your work.
Nice lady - crappy teacher. Had her for both Pre-calc and Calc I - I liked DIMITROV better (how sad is that?). When you get to rates of change (calc I), ask her about being on her boat and having drinks - she'll have to leave cause she's laughing so h
Not too bad. Makes you learn your stuff.
VERY hard, but explains pretty well. Tests/quizzes are hard. Study, do homework and you have a good chance of passing.
Explains everything very clear.
No curve, test are hard. You can fail this course.
Not an Easy Prof. Do your HW every night and ask questions in class, guaranteed A. If not, good luck passing. Had for precalc, didn't like her. Actually studied this term and will probably take her again next term. All depends on willingness to work
Great for calc 1, not so great for calc 2
Great teacher as long as your willing to work. If you put forth the effort, she'll help you along the way, good looking too.
explains material well. You MUST do all the homework and keep on track with her lecuture otherwise, you will have some trouble.
Very good teacher if you need/want to learn the material. Grades hard, with no curve, and only drops 1 quiz. Maple is made very easy. She is very good at explaination, and seems to have loosened the noose since tenure. Even let me take the final early
If you pay attention and grasp what she is saying, you will do well. She is very helpful and wants everyone to do well. No curve but if you study you won't need one. Fair grader. Maple are so easy and help boost your grade.
Awesome teacher as far as getting the material across. Tests are hard, quiz grades are flexible.
I've had her for all precalc, calc 1 and 2. She is an awesome teacher who makes you learn. It is very important to understand these subjects. So if you work hard, do homework, and study, you'll learn alot from her.
had her for precalc and failed she didnt know what she was talking about, took for calc2 and she still didnt know what she was talking about but she is hot and not married anymore
You will probably like her, until you take one of her test. Her tests are always 100 times harder than the quizes and the homework and the problems are always a surprise (hard as hell). I wouldn't advise to take her.
OOOOOO Hands Down ;)
Great teacher! Her test and quizzes are very hard, but not impossible. She is also a hard grader. Do your homework and listen to the lectures in class and you be fine, 85+.
This is a great class. She makes it understandable. Tests are harder then quizes and homework. Get cribs and take notes in class. Otherwise she is a great prof. and knows what she is teaching.
She is kinda hard but not too bad. I slept most days in her class and I still got over an 80. Plus I never did any homework she assigned. Just take notes and you'll do fine.
If she didnt grade THAT hard on tests, then this class would be a piece of cake. U dont have to do ur homework. I did 3 or 4 homework assignment for the term and still passed. Just have to know ur stuff.
Hard grader, hard tests, but will help you when you want, and takes note of when you ask for help. Points for effort.

GREAT TEACHER!! Makes you understand all of the topics. Tests are not that hard if you know your stuff, cribs are great for this class!
Great teacher! Just do your homework and you'll do fine on the tests. The people who don't do well in her class are the ones that never come to class and/or never open their books.
She's up on her high horse, has no respect for students. Can teachers have ADD?, she's always looking out window and into space. Too cockey.
GREAT TEACHER! Makes you understand concepts, will go out of her way to help. i'm in calc 2 with a different teacher, and i still go to her for help, i would say she's the best math prof here.
she has horrible teaching qualities and does not explain anything. Acts as though she doesnt want to be there.
Just pay attention in class, understand the material and youll do fine. I got an 89 and never did one hw problem in precalc. Shes there to help and is always willing to. Even jokes around with you and stuff.
Not an easy class but if you do your hw and get her help when you feel behind you'll do fine. Hard teacher but awesome person.
Im Rick James ****, this prof. has a serious anti-male problem. Just because she got divorced doesnt mean she has to be a ****
Very Hot! Not an easy class though. Do the practice problems and study notes. GO to her office hours and you are guaranteed to pass. Tests are hard but quizes are easy.
Great teacher! Goes out of her way to help. I didnt even have her for calc 2 and i still went to her for help, I would have never passed without her.
Not bad prof, has a fast paced teaching style. Willing to help, quizes and test are fair, must be studied for.
Good teacher. Good looking for her age. Test's are hard, quizzes even harder. Bottom line: you flirt with her you get a good grade.
Quizzes are easy, and she drops the lowest one. Tests suck, but you can live off partial credit. Lecture is ok, just don't ask to many questions. Office help is good because she is easy to get along with. Ask her if she had fun at the bar over the weekend
Will give you a billion examples in class. She expects you to know what is going on and is not big on answering questions in class. Make sure you do the homework and take notes. Study the cribs for help.
Does a great job of explaining things in class, but just when you think you'll be just fine in class... she slams you with her hard as hell tests. Not recommened to take.
Best Math Prof. You learn, you can joke with her. Awesome person to talk to about random things. Great personality & person. She knows people copy the Maples, but just wants students to know its possible do things with maple.
Dont let her good looks distract you in class. Great teacher, easy to learn but HARD tests. You need to do your homework and Maple you can either copy or ask her, and she will give you exactly what you need to do. You will more from Nancy than any other.
GREAT PROFESSOR! Had her for three terms, pre cal, cal I and Cal II. Explains very well and a very nice lady. She goes the extra mile to help you out if u go and ask for it. HELPS ALOT OF TEST (lets you know if ur answer is correct & gives you hints)

Cool teacher, helps when it matters the most (test) and is a fun class to be in. Take good notes, copy Maples and the rest should be a breeze. Make sure you know how to do the really hard problems from the homework.
Ernst is a great teacher but you must stay on top of your work, and always do your homework. She moves extremely fast, but she's very helpful putside of class hours.
awesome teacher, wants students to do well, kinda hard, expects you to know a lot before taking class, but will work with you if you dont know material
She makes her tests/quizzes as hard as possible. Moves very fast in class, but explains well. She came off as kind of rude. If you get a 60% or above she passes you.
"Nasty Nancy" is an awesome prof! Not only is she extremely helpful in AND out of class, she is also gorgeous (for 40ish)! So is her oldest daughter (18, legal)! Take Ernst if you want to learn Calc 1 and 2... the 2% lower grade is definately worth it!!!
Well all i have to say is that i dropped the class. And now i pray for a teacher who can explain things, and doesn't think shes so hot.
Ernst is an awesome teacher. Her lectures are easy to follow, lots of examples. She's always willing to answer questions, Use her office hours!!!
Very good prof! She will explain anything you need. very helpful. She seems a little rude sometimes but it doesn't matter.
I'm not sure why people say shes difficult... just do your homework and then it's really easy. and then you know calculus, too. I only did bad when i didnt study/didnt do homework. she will give you the help you need.
She knows her stuff. She grades fair and you'll do well if you understand the class.
Nice enough and does a good job with notes. Put everything on board with a bunch of examples.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Explains everything in great detail, always there to help, very fair grader, actually care about her student's grades. Wish she taught Calc 3
doesn't explain things well
She is brilliant at what she does. It may have helped that I already have taken calc, but she does a great job relaying the subject. Keep in line and attend all classes, do not slack or you will fall behind in the fast pace environment. You cannot go wrong with Nancy.
she moves through the material pretty quick in class but if you are confused she's happy to help if you find her during her office hours. i highly recommend her if you're taking calc 1 just because she's really helpful if put the effort foreward
She is a great teacher if you go to class eveyday and pay attention. She won't help you during office hours, she'll just tell you to go to the tutoring center where they don't do anything. If you try hard and do all your homework you'll get at least an 85.

Don't ask stupid questions and she won't be a **** to you. SHE LOVED ME.
She i very willing to help! If you need help go to her office hours and ask questions! She is awsome and i highly recommend her to everyone.

Good prof... She explains the material well, her tests are easier than most of the other calc profs, she curves to kettering scale in the end, and she isn't too bad looking. What more could you ask for in a professor?
She is a very good prof. She puts many examples on the board. She is very clear in what she's explaining, and will help you at any cost. *hint* be the last one when taking a quiz or test to leave, Ernst wants to leave, so if you are the last one, she will help you out by telling you how to do the problem. AWESOME PROF
This prof is awesome. She's always willing to help before/after class and in her office. Many examples on the board are just like the test and quizzes. Make sure to take good notes, as you will need them when doing the homework. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
I liked this class, this is of course after coming from a bad experience in Calc I. She always made the class entertaining because of her way of teaching. Ms. Ernst is the best teacher that you can ever get for any Calc classes, she's available when you need her and her examples in class were always dead on and exactly what you expect in hw & exams
She actually cares about students. If you ask for help, she'll give it, no BS!
She is very nice and helpful.
Oh Ernst. What an awsome prof. I had her three times for the same class (not becuase of her or I, but because of out of our hand circumstances) Though she was fustrated with me for being stubborn, she encouraged me to push through and I past with as good of an understanding as i could hope for. shes not easy but shes good.
Good teacher, she went a little bit fast sometimes which made it hard to keep up, but all in all she did a good job of explaining the assignments. Assigned a fair amount of homework, but didn't collect it.
Awesome professor, Good examples, good amount of work. Prepares you for the test as long as you keep up with what is expected. Best prof i had here so far.
Great teacher... knows her stuff and is very helpful in class, Do the HW and you will have a lot easier time. Awesome curve.
Can be very nice at times, but also not so nice in terms of hard tests and quizes. Compared to a past term, tests and quizes for my class were much more difficult. Final was cake though, and she will work with you if you need help. Don't worry too much if you have to take her, you'll just have to study more than normal college courses.
either you like her or you don't.
never get ernst!!! she is terrible... she throws random crap on all of her tests and quizes.. and its all crap youll never need..
One of the best math teachers you will ever get at Kettering. Goes through every process so that you understand the material. I use my notes from her in all my upper classes. If you want to do no work and struggle later on, choose another teacher. If you want to really learn Ernst is the way to go. You will never regret taking her.
Very helpful, fun, and interesting.
Great teacher! Gives notes in a very organized, outline fashion. Tells you what is on the test and finals are a piece of cake, usually less than 15 problems. If you like math and would like to know how, why, and when to do something, she is a great teacher. If you just want to breeze throught the class and not learn, don't take her.
Good straight forward teacher. Teaches like a high school math teacher. i never went to class/paid attention and passed.
Very personable, but moves quickly in class so it's important to actually pay attention and take the notes. Fair with tests/quizzes and helpful with intelligent questions.
Excellent teacher! Do the homework and pay attention, it's an easy A. The quizes are harder than the tests.
Calc 2 with Ernst is the definition of dread. You will work hard and get mediocre grades. If you ask for help during office hours, she will simply reword your questions and submit the reworded questions as answers. I tried to like this class, but constant failure paired with her constant monotone eventually broke me down. Avoid at all costs!
Very quirky and a beautiful smile. Does good examples before the homework, and then answers any questions about the homwork. Tests are easy even without cribs. Teaches well, and looks even better. Always dressed nicely.
Is a fairly good professor when it comes to teaching the material. Fails to realise that not everyone is taking her class for the 3rd time like some and moves fast. Tests and quiz's are extremely hard compared to homework. Work hard and maybe pass.... I worked extremely hard and failed. Old cribs very easy compared to current tests.
Great professor, willing to help struggling students. I got off to a bad start with the class, but managed to pass (a feat I have no doubt would have been impossible with other professors).
cougar, great at learning me calc 1
She is a great teacher, in that she knows the subject well but she lacks a proffesional additude. She is constantly late, and stops lecture to talk on her cell phone with family members, at least 2 times a week.
Makes a semi-difficult class managable. I would recomend her.
very good teacher overall. gives a little challenge so that you actually learn the material, and when you need help she's there. most people should have no problem doing well if they apply themselves 101/102/203
101EXTREME. Tamara all over again,COUGAR. She hates me but I love her. Great prof. Fun times. Learn a lil bit, enough to get you through the class.
101X and 102 Knows her stuff and communicates very well. Good professor.
very nice
Second Time I have had Mrs. Ernst (101Extreme before). After nearly f'ing up in 102, she made me re-believe in Calculus with 203. Go to class, do HW, study cribs. Pretty much do the basics and you'll pass easily. And she is still a cougar.
Ernst is an amazing teacher, you don't have to do the homework, she is very cribbable. Always willing to help you out. She also has a sence of humor. Attendance is a good thing, if you go she bumps your grade up at the end of the term!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
She is a really helpful and nice person until she starts teaching, then she goes through material in warp speed and hates life. Do the homework!
Miss Ernst is a great teacher. With extra credit I was able to get 100% on all her tests and did pretty well on the final. She is the kind of teacher that tests you on the material, rather than on how good you are at catching tricky things like Trig Identities. Do most of the homework (I just did a few problems from every section) and each review.
Promised extra points if attendence was good, never gave it out, then never answered many emails following the term asking why it was not presented. Great teacher until this incident. Knows what she's doing, and willing to help in class. Went to office hours and she was very rude and talked to me like I was an idiot. Use cribs and you'll be fine.
Great Teacher. Knows her stuff. In the morning she like to pick on us a little but it is cool cause we pick back a little. Good amount of Extra Credit. Hmwk is not required. Test are very cribbable.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! knows her stuff and really good at keeping the class interested. Very helpful if you need to ask more questions. She doesn't like when you go to her office hours without questions and you expect her to reteach everything she taught in class but understandable. BEST PROF EVER
I have had her for calc II and III she is a great clear teacher! Take her if possible
She is a great professor
Okay professor. Moves very quickly and doesn't really help students much it seems. And when she does, it seems condescending and is annoying. Fortunately, she is very cribbable and this makes the tests easier and the quizzes virtually impossible to fail. Overall not horrible but there are better.
Good professor, explains the new material without fault, although she skips intermediate algebra in examples. Exams are tough, but there are cribs available. Gives out Maple projects, follow examples on the lab page and you will do fine on those. Had her for all the Calc courses and don't regret it. Awesome prof!
This class has a lot of homework besides there aren't any other student activities which makes it a bit boring. she will give you a good grade but take it with other prof. he doesn't have that much hw
Favorite professor of all time! Made me love math, which is weird to say. Only complaint I have is that I think the final exam (I've had two with her so far) is complete bogus. A few of my classmates and I got B's and A's on all of the tests leading up to the final and we still failed it. (Not for a lack of studying either!!) Oh well, still my fave.
Not a bad professor. Not a fantastic professor. I struggled with the subject, pushed myself and studied for hours before each test. Did poorly on final, got final grade of an 89.8% - B+. Says she will round up for good attendance; she won't. Kind of frustrating, but my own fault for circling a single bubble wrong on the final. Try hard, do well.
Was very willing to meet after hours to discuss gradestests. Provided great feedback from old tests, and corrects things you got wrong on a test so that you can learn from your mistakes. Gave great lectures that were clear and precise.
She isn't a bad teacher. The material itself can get complicated plus no use of calculators. Overall though she knows what to teach and helps you if needed. Just ask. Tests can get rough if you do not study. The finals were multiple choice but that can be to your detriment if you mess up. Out of most Math profs though, she is a good mix.
Gives extra credit and is willing to help you when you need it. Pretty easy class when taking it from her.
She assigns hours of web assign a night then expects you to still have time to study for her class. She teaches multiple sections a day when she doesn't need to. Awful. Used to love her but she has gotten lazy when teaching
I would have to say she is my favorite math prof at KU so far, which is a mild honor. Yes she assigns web assign, but it helps your grade in the long run, just stay up on it. If for some reason you can't finish it, she will grant you an extension. Her tests were really fair, she picks the easier problems. If you actually do the hw, you will do fine
Prof. Stock was a great professor for calc 2. She grades with partial credit and provides many extra credit chances. She doesn't collect homework, but expects you to do it.
She barely give partial credit. It's her way or the high way. She does not know how to explain a method or concept in more than one way so be prepared for repetitiveness.
Prof. Stock is very well organized coming in to each class. She teaches the material very thoroughly and with several examples. Her resources provided through the Blackboard learning tool are EXTREMELY helpful. One of the best profs at Kettering University.
I have had Prof. Stock two terms in a row at Kettering. I was super disappointed to find out that she wasn't teaching the next class I need to take. She is awesome. She is willing to help you understand the material. Make sure you ask lots of questions in class and after. She will take the time to explain everything to you! She plays by the rules
Great professor, gives plenty of examples and is willing to work with you if you're having trouble. Really cares about her students understanding concepts.
She is a really caring professor and generous toward her students. What I like about her personally is she is a humble professor u will ever goona see.
Lectures are packed with a lot of material. She uses good examples and is willing to help students if they ask. Homework is not mandatory but is very helpful and she will go over it if you ask. Offers a lot of opportunities for help if you choose to take them. I had her for two terms in a row and would take her again.
Solid professor to have for calc 1 and calc 2. I have had great success understanding the fundamentals of calc with her. Great professor and Great person.
I can easily say this is the worst class I have ever had. She rushes through the notes so you won't understand them conceptually. She combines tons of steps which makes her work very confusing when you look back at your notes. The worst part is that she gives you very specific examples but on the test gives you ones that you've never tried before
Prof. Stock is a good person but your grade is based off of three exams, three Mupads and the final. She teaches right out of the book which has its pros and cons, if you need more examples the book doesn't help because she's used all of the examples from it. She also grades very hard on tests.
Terrible professor I highly recommend not taking her!!!
Super easy to understand her lectures and gives a review super similar to the test. Also, she gave out a lot of extra credit and let us use our calculators. EZ.
Homework isn't graded but you need to do practice problems to pass this class. There are only 3-4 tests in the class and MAPLE assignments that are your grade. She offers extra credit after each test that she applies to your test grade so each test can be curved 10% if you do it.
Awesome Prof. I took her for calc3 and passed with an A. I would say go over the homework that is suggested.. helped me A LOT! The review she gives are also very helpful.
Great professor. Letting you use a calculator on every exam and offering up to 10pts extra credit on every exam. Also all students with a 95% are exempt from the final. Her class is not only easy but she teaches a lot of content in an easy to learn form, without even needing to do the homework.
Stock is not a bad professor at all. She is very smart and knows what she is doing. However, she teaches in a way that is very serious and boring. She uses exact textbook definitions instead of portraying information in a way that is easier to understand. At least she always lets class out 5-10 minutes early.
I started struggling very early on in her class. Her office hours were during the time of my other classes so I could never make them. I asked after class to go over material from our first test, which I did not do so well on, and she basically told me its not her job. I studied my butt off the rest of the term and was barely able to pass her class
Papa Bless. Stock just walks up to the board and starts teaching. Does the math teacher "I can't draw" and then draws 4 perfect circles in a row.
A lot of people complain about Stock, but I really liked her. I did like 2-3 cribs before each test and never got anything below a 90% on an exam. Pay attention in class she does a lot of examples.
Great teacher goes through concepts fast to have plenty of time for examples. grades somewhat tough but you'll learn more. Also reviews for class are great help.
loved Stock
If you have questions, Professor Stock is always willing to help. Maple was a struggle, but she was always willing to help. Do the homework and you will be able to do fine on the tests.
I took Professor Stock for Calculus 1, 2, and 3. She taught great in all three terms and goes to great lengths to help students if you just ask her. Tests are the majority of your grade so just make sure to study BEFORE the day of the test and you will do fine.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had in my life. She is not an "easy" grader and makes your earn your grade. She tells you what you need to know and helpful resources so if you do bad, its on you. You will really LEARN in her class. If your looking for an "easy A" not be the best option, but I liked her so much I have her again for calc 3
One of my favorite professors. Very straightforward and super helpful. Show the effort, and she is willing to help.
Great professor, she lets you skip the final if you get a good enough grade at the end of the year, usually ~95%. She gives extra credit problems after every test for a good amount points, I got a 70% on my first test cause I didn't study and still ended up with a good enough grade to skip the final. Very helpful after class and even during tests.
Great teacher, very nice and thoughtful. Class is only graded on 3 test and 3 maple assignments and one final. Sometimes is tough on grading for test. Would recommend for all Calculus classes at Kettering.
Professor Stock is great - she offers extra credit opportunities and lets you skip the final if you do well enough. unstuckstudy and the review sessions are super helpful for acing the tests. Just stay on top of the practice problems and you'll do well in this class.
