Made you buy a very expensive book. Expected short essays to be brought into class everyday. No extra credit. Unorganized notes. Still very new and doesn't quite know how to teach.
Good proffessor, very nice person. The book is required but you dont really use it unless u need ot for the midterm and final but the powerpoints prettymuch cover most of the material. she posts the notes on blackboard. does five minute papers and give an opportunity to make to grades. Gives extra credit on the final.
Easy A, if you do exactly what she says. I bugged me that she would ask for our opinion in papers we would write but then hammer us with a bunch of guidelines. Basically she wants you to parrot what she taught you. Nice professor, but not very fun.
Cut her some slack, she's a fairly new teacher. She is a very sweet lady, and she is willing to help anyone who is having problems. Her exams are so easy. All you have to do is read through her powerpoints, and that's basically what's on the test. She allows you to work in groups. Also, she does make you write short "essays" but they are so simple.
She is a great prof. Just pay attention to her powerpoints and thats whats on the exams. She is extremely helpfull and funny. The book is not needed just a couple pages copied. Overall it was a great class.
This teacher was good at keeping students engaged in the discussion and tried to improve her ways of teaching to help the students. Some of them weren't helpful for me, but were for others. I recommend this teacher. She is sweet and always willing to help with your questions and assigments.
GREAT TEACHER!! u can really tell she loves her job.great study guide, power points are on blackboard she tells u exactly what she wants. book is helpful but if u go to lectures you don't really need it. i hope i can take her again.
Easy class, but she oversimplifies all the concepts. She also requires in-class activites which are pointless, it's just her way to make sure shes not speaking to a completely empty class. She can be funny but she tends to drone on and on.
The class is alright. Book is way too expensive, so I didn't buy it. Attending class isn't required but daily in-class/group assignments are given, which affect your grade.
She is a humorous professor and kept the class interested, hard to do at 9:20am. 12 mandatory in class assignments (easy group work) and 3 tests which are exact replicas of the study guides. She stated she thought about giving us a paper, but didn't due to the size of the class. Very helpful and knows how to teach. Def want to take her again.
She's nice, but thinks she's funnier than she actually is. She lectures after the test and goes through power points too fast write down notes. She does post powerpoint on blackboard, but since she's teaching us about learning and memory she should know we don't retain info well after test AND it helps retention to write down notes!!! Come on now!
I feel bad for her because you can tell she comes in with enthusiasm every day but class would just be so dead. Although she brought energy with her teaching, for whatever reason, the material still came off as boring. She doesn't deviate what she says with whats written on the slides, so it did feel verbatim at times. Tests are fairly simple.
Great teacher! Tests based on study guides and readings! Go to class does take attendance with group activities. I missed three classes and those points hurt me from receiving an A!
A very passionate professor who really wants her students to do well. Test are based on class notes and textbook, so you better read the text if you want an A. Also, she randomly takes attendance and devotes some grade points to attendance. I received a B in the class because I didn’t show up to class on days she took attendance.
She was the instructor for the lab for 311. It was her first time teaching the lab, but you couldn't tell. She was extremely helpful and genuinely cared to help us all out. I feel that those of us who had her, got extremely lucky when compared to the other lab instructors. She is sarcastic and always cracking jokes, made class fun! :)
This was Psychology of Women and I found this class to be one of my easiest and most interesting classes. 1 presentation, 10 in class assignments, 2 midterms and a final. also 8 extra cerdit points allowed. She only gives A/B/C (no plus' or minus') so getting an A is easy! Recommend her for any PSYC class.
great professor! Lectures are very clear and she wants you to get a good grade. Tests are almost exactly what is on the study guide. I didn't use to book and did just fine. She puts her power points online for you to print. Does 12 in class activities for participation points, along with 3 tests. STRONGLY recommend this teacher
AWESOME PROFESSOR! she explains EVERYTHING IN DETAIL. you really do not need to buy the APA book because she explains everything into detail. Do not procrastinate in ANY of the papers or you will FAIL! start as soon as she explains the experiments because you wil feel overwhelmed. She is hilarious!
Boring class but fairly easy. Do your readings and you'll pass so I do encourage having the text but she does post her lectures on Black Board. Gives study guides however not that specific. There is paper but that's fairly easy as well, only a few pages long.
Amazing professor! Her study guides are helpful so make sure you study your notes. Also the book is helpful. All her lectures are on black board. She has in class assignments for participation points so go to class! She is really helpful and cares about her students. She is hilarious and I can't wait to take her for 311 lab!!!
Professor is awesome. She would love for her students to do the pre-reading so she can engage over the power points and be able to ask questions and have you guys answer, but many of us did not read. Her study guides are on point. Do the SG and you're solid. She's a great teacher, I definitely recommend her. She likes to joke around sometimes.
when she teaches she is all over the place topic wise. she does not remember what she says from day to day that is y she all way has to write her self little note. A.P.A. style of writing I hard enough with regards to writing the papers for the lab and she does not explain it well enough 4 me. DO NOT TAKE HER 4 311 LAB. SHE SUCKS
Stuebner is the BEST professor that I have taken thus far at CSUSB! Everyone and anyone that is ridiculously terrified of 311 like I was, should take her for lab. Not only is she helpful, clear, and DEDICATED, but she is pushes you to do your best. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! STUEBY IS THE BEST!!!!!!
This was the second time I took her and I do not regret it at all. She is extremely helpful, basically spells out what you need to pass, cracks hilarious jokes, and answers any and all questions. This class should be taken with a light load because it is still extremely time consuming but Stuebner is by far the best lab instructor. Love her.
I was very excited to take this class, Unfortunately as the quarter progress, I was ready for it to end. I understood the material, but I felt that her exams had a lot of trick questions. She only gives 6 points of extra credit, which does not help at all. I will never take a class with her again.
Test are very tricky. Only gives 6 extra credit points which doesn't help at all -_-. She is nice, but the way her class is set up is not good. She doesn't curve grades either. I studied my butt off, but only ended up with a D in the class.
It's refreshing to see that some teachers care about the quality of their work! She's well organized, revisits the material with class reviews, elicits participation, and has incredible structure! Excellent study tips come from this class. Impressed at what I am taking away with me. I truly learned so much from her as she teaches my learning style.
AMAZING! I was scared for PSYC 311 and she did so much to help us relax and feel confident. She understands the pressure of this class and prepares us really well for the 3 papers. Classes were long (3 hours), but she kept your attention with some pretty funny jokes. If you are worried about this class, take Stuebner! I highly recommend her!
exams are cumulative , she makes you read a lot i mean a lot. as if she's the only class you have. there are 3 exams,12 class exercises and an essay plus you have to go to class if not you won't get the grade for the exercise so ya you can't skip class.
She is very sweet. She really tests you on your knowledge of the subject. Do study the study guide carefully. Her lectures are great and the class itself was so inspiring, really opened my eyes. Must attend because there are unscheduled assignments throughout the quarter. Very rewarding and she is just a great teacher - always smiling. Love her
Provides a study guide and you should use the book since the material is difficult. She has a talent for making a tough subject easy to understand. Her tests are not easy but she does prepare you with the study guide and lectures. Attend class because there are surprise assignments worth 10 points, they add up. She is very approachable and so nice
Amazing professor. Loved her class! Makes the material easy to learn and applies it to everyday life. If you have the chance, I would definitely recommend taking her class.
Great professor. She knows her stuff and is always willing to clarify any questions you might have. I'd definitely take her again !
Loved this class except for the fact that she had in-class assignments at random, so you can't really skip class!
Stuebner is one of the BEST professors I have taken. She is so helpful and very understanding. If you have a question, ask,and she will make sure to explain it every single way possible for you to understand it. 311 is a tough course, you need to be dedicated to get a good grade. 3 papers, as soon as you finish one you start the next one. Take her!
Have taking Stuebner before, and will take her again I will. Lectures are posted on BB, the book in my opinion helps clarify many things if you are too shy to ask questions in class, but don't be she WILL HELP! If you pay attention in class and study your notes throughly you'll do fine, don't depend on just listening to her lecture.
Great Professor. had problems understanding some concepts but Stuebner was always willing to answer and clarify any question no matter how silly it was. i recommend taking her lab
Shes very cool and nice. Theres class activities so if you miss a lot then your grade will suffer. She does offer extra credit through SONA and during the test review days. She really does try to be there for her students and teaches very well. There is also a paper (which is easy) She is so far the best professor I had.
Stuebner is great let's get that clear. She is very knowledgeable, funny & accessible. HOWEVER her test are freaking HARD! I attended every class & was the "class pet", answering all of the questions in class and I GOT A B+ (missed 5 pts due to medical emergency). No credit for class participation. Unacceptable! She is great but her tests are hard!
She possesses incredibly unrealistic expectations, expecting students to read too much on some weekends. We did the first part of an in class exercise together, and after verbally confirming that answers were correct, she gave me partial credit on some questions. Ive never received less than an A minus on any of my psych courses and had a D in hers.
Laughs at herself and her jokes all through lecture when she should be explaining the topics better because she grades like she does. She's not understanding at all so don't try to have any sort of life until her class is over!!
Stuebner is challenging and has high expectations BUT she gives you all the information you need to do well in the class. If you participate and ask questions, she will always answer them and provide good feedback. Attend all classes and read articles as soon as they are provided. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE AND SE ASIDE PLENTY OF TIME FOR THIS CLASS.
All of the in class assignments are technically group work, but she's perfectly happy to let you do them on your own. No homework, you don't even really need the book, everything is covered in the lecture. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. She's super nice and understanding, too. She's a wonderful lady c:
She is an amazing professor that really cares about her students and loves her job. her study guides are very straight forward and the exams are literally the study guides. shes always willing to help her students which is really good. 12 in class activities that add up quick, 2 midterms, 1 final. Overall an amazing professor!
She is an amazing professor that really cares about her students and loves her job. her study guides are very straight forward (basically the study guide word for word) shes always willing to help her students which is really good. 12 in class activities that add up quick, 2 midterms, 1 final. Overall an amazing professor!
Attendance is necessary because she has in class activities in which youre graded on. She provides studyguides for both midterms and the final exam. Study the study guide and you'll be fine. No textbook required she posts her lecture slide and everything on the exam is based off of that. She provides extra credit through SONA. Highly recommend her!
Overall decent professor, can be rude and unavailable at times. I once waited an hour during her office hours to meet with her and then she told me I needed an appointment to speak to her. If you take her beware of group in class assignments all the time and she loves to reference the book a lot.
Shes an okay professor. You will have an essay to do its about 25 points even though it doesnt seem a lot it rlly is. She didnt really explain the essay well enough . her tests are okay too just make sure you study & shell also give study guides to help ! GET THE BOOK you are going to use it for the essay & for studying !
Nancy is terrible, her lectures take all class long and does nothing but asks questions, she sarcastic and can even be rude at times, if you can avoid taking her please do so! Not recommended! she also expects you to do all the reading prior to class
I honestly wouldn't recommend taking Psych 105 with her. She is an extremely tough grader, especially for a GE class. She assigns an essay that she doesn't explain well AT ALL. And if you miss a class and end up missing one of the in-class assignments, your grade will lower a lot. Do yourself a favor and take another professor for Psych 105!
If you are employed, DO NOT take this professor. She has random assignments worth 3.5% of your grade per assignment that are given randomly. Her opinion is in everything so you do not know what the correct answer is on the exam. Exams are cumulative- reuses questions everyone got wrong. Her questions on exams are confusing- she doesnt help clarify
sometimes doesnt reply to emails or takes days which made the lab a bit more difficult because I really needed information to work on the paper in a timely manner. She is easy to talk to, gives you everything you need and you just have to take her advice and follow. Excellent feedback on papers. DEFINITELY have to be dedicated to these papers!!!
Three exams, 12 in class activities and extra credit opportunities . Show up to class because her in class activities are random and points matter. She is very sweet and extremely helpful I would definitely recommend taking her!
She cares and passionate. Seems very enthusiastic with lectures. Gives chances at extra credit before exams.
Prof Stuebner was a great and funny teacher! She really cares about her students and wants to help whenever. We had 3 exams all quarter, so study the study guide. The textbook is not necessary because exams are mostly based on powerpoint. Must show up to class because there are random in class assignments for participation.
attendance only matters for in class assignments, shes a pretty easy teacher overall the class is pretty easy
She is a great lady, but her grading is TERRIBLE , she is a tough grader for no reason, class is difficult and she is so boring with her lectures, everything is on powerpoint so you can teach yourself which is better than going to her class. T
Extremely tough grader for a GE class. Does random in-class assignments, if you're not there that's a loss of 5 points. There are only 240 points possible for the class, making it very hard to receive a good grade. 2 midterms, 1 final, 1 essay, and 10 in-class assignments. Very nice lady but I would NOT recommend taking psyc 105 with her.
Expected this class to not be very difficult, however her exams were tough and accumulative. Takes attendance points once a week by doing an in-class assignment. Extra credit is possible by her review session and/or SONA.
She is a sweet lady and very passionate at what she does. Lectures can get long and difficult to pay attention. She does random in class activities every week, so you have to pretty much play the lottery if you want to miss class. Exams are a little difficult if you do not read the textbook, but you will be okay. She really values participation.
Was excited about this class but this professor changed my mind very quickly. She's a tough grader her exams are Cumulative and hard. She gives horrible examples, Class can get very boring. Gives 5 points each week on random days with an in-class assignment, YOU WILL NOT PASS IF YOU MISS THESE! Very NICE lady but will not recommend to take her.
I have taken this professor for multiple classes and she never disappoints. She is not a tough grader. Just show up to class, do the in class activities STUDY the study guide and you will succeed. She really is wanting every student to succeed and she shows passion in her teaching. One of my favorite CSUSB professors ever!
I personally liked her, i thought she was a good professor. You do have to study at least 2-3 days before if you want to get a good grade on the tests. Only annoying this was the group assignments that we had but overall shes a nice lady, good teacher. Its hard if you dont show up and dont put much effort.
this is a very straight forward class, lectures online and 10 in class activities. she posts lectures online and provides study guides and many examples. she does talk a lot but shes a sweet professor!!
the sweetest person ever! her tests are tough bases off of powerpoint, lectures, and book. she gives assignments and extra credit. study guides are simple and easy to fill out. the only way to fail is doing badly on tests. read and study! need the book. the questions are tricky.. very so take your time.
sweetest lady! General powerpoint lectures and mini group work. Cannot miss in class activities to receive a lot of points. As long as you study the well-organized study guides, exams are a piece of cake :)
This is my 2nd class with Dr. Stuebner. She is very caring and sweet and wants to talk to her students. Her exams are kind of tricky, but you can ask her a lot of questions. She gives out study guides and participation is mandatory because she gives out in-class assignments that you have to show up to get points.
She is very passionate about child development and is one of the funniest teacher I have. She makes two hour lectures bearable. Show up to class because you have 10 class assignments. Test are not difficult but are culmative.
Professor Stuebner's class is really easy and straight forward. You won't need the textbook to receive an A. Just show up to class and do her in class assignments! She gives out study guides, offers help, and has extra credits! She is a really sweet professor, I will definitely take her class again in the future.
Shes really nice.
Took 5-6 quizzes, no exams, & writing assignments 1x/week. You can tell she cares for her students. Super sweet professor. She was lovely to have as a professor. As long as you watch the lectures and do the assignments, the textbook isn't needed, and you'll pass.
This class was super easy. The class consisted of 7 written responses and 5 quizzes. The quizzes were not difficult at all. She posts powerpoint presentations with audio on BB. You don't need the book.
I took her PSYC 384 online during quarantine. She was AMAZING. Her lectures are short, simple, and very straightforward. It was very easy to follow along.
Take this class! 6 quizzes (20 questions) NO TESTS and 7 writing assignments (no more than a page required). Lectures posted at the start of the week, only 3 optional zoom meetings. She offers extra credit, but if you take the quizzes and do the assignments you'll pass. Interesting and easy class!!
This class is group heavy which is so inconvenient. She uses powerpoint and that's it. You get 3 zooms the whole semester and one paper. This class was seriously a joke and the professor did the bare minimum.
Honestly bummed because I thought I was gonna get an A I was 2 points away :(. You have to work hard for your grade. A lot of information and barley any extra credit.
8 writing assignments 4 group/4solo- not really hard. Long PowerPoint lectures but easy to follow and if you watch the lectures and take notes you should do ok on the quizzes. 6 quizzes but she drops lowest score. Does not give you the answers for the quizzes so hard to know what you got wrong/right. Good lectures and examples. Quizzes were hard.
Really enjoyed her class! Easy A if you read the material and follow her lectures. No tests, just quizzes. Quizzes are easy if you do the readings and listen to her lectures. She offers extra credit and she meets with students regularly. Overall, good professor, I would take her again.
This class was not what I expected, the course setup was strange. I did not understand why we had to do group discussions for simple questions, and she doesn't accept any late work, and only 3 points extra credit allowed. I kept up with all the lectures and readings but the quizzes were still confusing. Not a hard course but just confusing setup.
DEFINITELY need the textbook. Read and take notes on anything you think is important. Midterm and finals were based all on the textbook, barely any on her personal lecture. Class is really not necessary unless you have questions. There's group homework (easy) just don't forget to do it. Her study guides ish helped. Such a nice and sweet professor.
Shes pretty chill and nice but she has a lot of lectures. Her lectures hold a lot of information and the only assignments she gives are the writing prompts. Those you do in groups. She gives no study guides, make sure you study. She also tests you on the films in class. The only things in the grade book are the tests (4) and prompts (8).
This professor is nice but she rambles so much during lecture. Brings up personal experiences every single slide on the PowerPoint. Hard grading for group assignments.
Her lectures drag so much but the information is very interesting enough to be engaged in. Lectures are posted online so attendance isn't mandatory. Tests are not tough as long as you study well!
Her lectures are so boring as she reads it off of the slide with no additional information (which she posts). Only reason I would take again and would choose her is because her tests are easy, attendance not mandatory, and minimal work. She does useless group assignments and grades them hard. If you're interested in DP do not take her. Easy credit.
Although the some of the lectures did feel like they dragged a bit, Professor Stuebner was able to give us a really good understanding of the material. The exams were pretty easy as long as you paid attention to the material and studied. There were individual and group discussion posts. Overall a very nice and understanding professor!!
She grades group assignments rough, but her 4 exams are pretty straightforward and the study guides are extremely helpful.
She loves group projects and made half of our written responses group projects. Assigned groups and that's your group for the semester. You'll probably be able to pass by just reading the textbook and showing up for exams
You have to actually read through the slide shows. It actually pretty easy because she gives you study guides. you also have to watch long videos. Also make sure you complete your assignments on time.
Professor Stuebner tells you to purchase the textbook, however her lecture slides are literally from the textbook. There are a few group assignments and the exams are very easy as long as you attend lecture and review the slides. She provides a study guide that is also very helpful for review.
This class is based solely on PowerPoints. Textbook is mostly helpful when preparing for exams, and for examples of the topics. She is clear about what is expected. You have several small writing assignments, some individual some in groups, but all very simple. Study guides are top tier, exams are fairly easy so long as you complete the guide.
This class wasn't hard, but it definitely wasn't too interesting. She grades really hard on in-class assignments and doesn't post when we'll have them, so you'll have to attend class regularly. Notes are super easy as well as the exams since she posts study guides for her students. If you don't like listening to long lectures don't take this class
Amazing professor! I love her humor. Stuebner posts study guides and she assigns random in class group assignments. She is a bit of a tough grader on those but my advice is to write a lot/beef them up which is easy. She says to buy the txtbook but it is not necessary
This class was all right and definitely not as interesting as I thought. No midterm, but 3 total exams and in class assignment. In class assignments are not always said when we will have them. Study guides are accurate and definitely out of the notes so definitely study. But if you don't like listening to long lectures, don't take this class.
Professor Stuebner's class was pretty easy. Lectures are interesting and she gives the slides before hand in order to prepare for class. Study guides are given and are literally exactly what will be asked in the exams. Gives in 10 group assignments that are used for the participation grade and they are very easy. She is very caring and nice.
pros: allows to replace two group activities cons: long lectures, barely any extra credit, random group activities w/o saying when, confusing tests many people ditched class instead
