A very knowledgeable, encouraging professor. A good soul. Runs a great class.
This class is a joke. This has got to be the stupidest textbook ever!
Great professor. Quick feedback and always available.
Very knowledgeable professor. Alot of writting involved. Book was equivalent to a high-schooler's book or entry-level college. Course was a refresher but at the same time too long and almost useless.
Book was useless and irrelevant. She grades fair and in a timely manner. Lots of writing was involved. It was a wake-up call/refresher on how-to write basic college papers in APA format. Too many assignments for what the course was. Instructor gives good feedback on papers.
I absolutely loved having Prof. Wack as a teacher! She was very knowledgeable, insightful, and a helpful no matter what the need. She even took the time to learn some of my own personal religious veiw points to add more knowledge to her arsenol. Amazing teacher, really!
I had Prof. Wack for American Popular Culture. I thought the class was going to be a lot different than what it turned out to be. Prof. Wack is pretty picky on grammar and citations but overall is a decent professor.
You will not find a better instructor anywhere. She clearly cares about teaching and helping students any way she can. You can't go wrong selecting her for one of your classes!
The instructor required a good deal of work in the course. However, I learned a great deal. Two textbooks were required - both provided interesting, helpful information. Further, Dr. Wack graded quickly and provided helpful feedback.
Great professor.Great feedback. Alot of reading and videos but this class is intersting. I recommend this class and professor to everyone.
Teacher was engaging with the class room forum. Promoted conversation with students. Answered email questions within one day.I recommend this teacher to others who would take this class.
Dr. Wack, proved an exceptionally knowledgeable, enthused, and outgoing professor. Her commentary helped me to hone in on aspects of the course I was missing.
My first class with APU was RELS201 - Introduction to World Religions with Prof. Nancy Wack. I enjoyed the class and format of how the class worked. Forum posts, responses, quizzes and one final paper. Nancy engaged the class and promoted discussion. If I had to email her with a question I got a response back quickly.
I love Professor Wack! She's very helpful & works w/ her students to make sure everything gets done. Stay on top of your assignments you'll do well. I've taken 2 classes with her & they have the same structure. DB by Wed & 2 replies, usually 2 quizzes, 4-5 page research essay, essay proposal, essay outline, & essay update as assignments.
One Word - TERRIBLE TEACHER. One word of advise. Do not take care, you will regret it!
Rude, and just plain out nasty lady!
Professor Wack expects a lot in papers. She grades quickly and very fairly. I would take one of her classes again in a heartbeat. She was very active in the forums and always pointed us in the right direction. On top of that, she was always pleasant.
I enjoyed the course and the teacher was great. Very helpful and flexible.
Fantastic to have as my teacher for my last course in my undergraduate degree. Very caring, available, and provided constant positive reinforcement. My final paper was the best because of her input.
Great class and professor! The course was upfront and the professor constantly available. Big difference with being in the course making it more fun.
It had been years since I attended college and Professor Wack made me feel right at home. She was very encouraging and kept me on track to success.
Very helpful and caring. My duties oftentimes called me away and she would work with me without question.
Awesome professor. She cares so much about her students. So easy to build a rapport with and a good listener.
It was hard going back to college after 20 plus years, but Prof. Nancy made it a breeze. A constant presence in the course with quick responses to email questions. Constantly on the forums and communication was great. Super fast grading turnaround, which I greatly appreciated being so nervous :)
Excellent Professor and class. I so enjoyed Nancy. She was so much fun on the discussions!
The class was a blast and the teacher was fabulous. She challenged us with new ideas in regard to religion that I never even considered. Loved the class!
Nancy is a professor who truly cares about the students. She always had something pleasant to say about my work and this made me feel confident and motivated to put forth a great effort. I recommend this professor to anyone considering taking a philosophy or religion course.
Excellent teacher - I could not say a bad thing about her. Always there for her students, engaging, and supportive.
The class was great & Professor Nancy is a awesome. She really cares about her students. Feedback was well received from graded assignments and very active in the course.
Very kind and helpful. Always present in the course returning emails in less than 24 hours. Clever. Great feedback and interaction in the course. Would take again.
Was not looking forward to the course, but the Professor made it so much more fun. Glad I took the class. I enjoyed it and the Professor was awesome.
Just finished this class. Prof Nancy is awesome. Constantly present. Quick turn around on grading, emails, and the like.
Quick grader
Excellent professor - always quick on responses/grading. Very helpful in guidance.
If you're taking a lower level class, she will put minimum effort into providing a quality experience. She uses an autograder for the essays, and it doesn't feel like she actually reads the content of the essay. As such, there is no room for obtaining quality feedback that you couldn't get from reading a textbook on MLA formatting.
This was my first online course and I am so happy I took it with Nancy. She was supportive and caring during a difficult time for me during the course. She provided excellent feedback and was a constant on the forum interaction. She answered emails in less than 24 hours. Great teacher!
She is the best teacher I have had so far. Expects you to put the effort in, if you do she will work with you. Great feedback, actually makes you want to learn more. I would take her classes any chance I would get.
If you are a student that wants to learn a broad range of information about Philosophy and you also want a Professor that is awesome along with wanting a fair grade, this is the instructor to choose. Nancy is one of the easiest Professors to work with that I have ever encountered. I highly suggest taking a class from her.
Excellent course and professor. I enjoyed the religion course and learned so much.
I had a wonderful experience in this class and with the teacher.
This course was a good introduction to philosophy. I enjoyed the class and Nancy was awesome.
Had so much fun in this class with Nancy. It was great to learn new aspects about religion. We looked at symbols and the like instead of doctrines.
Loved the Lit course. Good authors and gray teacher.
This class was a lower level entry. I liked it and Nancy was perfect for the course. A constant presence.
Quite an interesting course. Classmates and professor were excellent.
Good teacher and class
Prof. Nancy is true-blue. She goes leaps and bounds by possessing a natural gift at creating a nurturing learning environment using mutual respect as a guide. Grades fast.
Professor Wack was a great teacher, always available and provided clear and helpful feedback. As long as you participate in forums and complete assignments, you will easily pass the course. I would definitely take one of her classes again!
I had Professor Wack for two classes, both of which were amazing! She has too many qualities to list here, so take my word for it: you will learn a lot in her classes, and receive great feedback. One of the best teachers I have had!
Fantastic professor! You will no doubt get the feeling that Prof. Wack truly enjoys her profession and wants to see her students succeed in her class. Prof. Wack thinks outside of the box, which makes the course more fun.
Course was better than I thought it would be. Prof. Wack had great assignments. Something different for a change. Challenged you to state your opinion and support it. Responded to inquires immediately.
A lower level class that turned out that I liked more than I thought I would. Prof made the course interesting with her challenging outlooks.
I was toward the end of my degree and took this class with Nancy. It was a wonderful experience! I highly suggest taking a course with her.
I thought the class would be a bummer when I signed up for it. I was quite surprised at how much I ended up liking the course. The teacher really added to the engagement in the course to make it fun. Quick grader too, which I appreciated for the next assignments.
Professor Wack has high expectations for you to succeed. She has a fast turn around on grading and grades very fair. I would take one of her classes again. She was very caring and pleasant teacher.
This professor provided some really good examples and guidance in the discussion boards along with feedback on essays. She really cares about the students.
I had Dr. Nancy for this course. I liked the extra questions in the forums to pick from to answer. I would take her again because she answered my questions within a few hours. I had been looking at Walden, but I chose AMU because of the most caring instructors and Dr. Nancy is one of them.
Nancy is awesome and really cares. She does a fine job to give you feedback to make changes going forward and actually expects it. Excellent communication.
Loved this course and the professor. Learned so much about the roots of Religion in America. Gave me a better understanding of how religion impacted us.
Class was a blast and my voice mattered on the forums. Great feedback on all work for the course.
The class was quite interesting along with the professor's interaction to dialogue with us. I enjoyed the assignments being able to express my opinions in an open manner.
I needed a undergrad course in Humanities. I ended up PHIL101 with Nancy. I am so glad I ended up with her. Great support and caring with a fairly new student.
Good course and good teacher. Enjoyed the mainstream religions I learned about.
Astounding course. Just enjoyed it so much.
Enjoyed course and the teacher.
Nancy is by no means just a teacher. She is a lover of learning and education. She doesn't give the answers to you, but she does help you in every way she can.
Nice time in the course, the professor was very clear on her expectations.
Good Professor! She is very caring and makes online learning fun!
Course was good. Teacher present. Positive feedback.
I am a philosophy major who has been putting off this course because it is challenging. Nancy made the course perfect and alleviated my fears.
Nice professor to have for a beginning course. Very helpful.
The class was interesting and I liked it. The professor was good also. Always present.
For a 101 class, PHIL101 at APUS/AMU/APU requires a ton of reading. You have to read, watch videos and listen to audio in order to pass the weekly quizzes. You also need this knowledge to post in the forums (three per week). Dr Nancy Wack is a fair grader. Responds within a day. Week 7 paper needs to be at least six pages long.
I have had this Professor before and sure was happy when I was able to take her for my capstone. It was a great way to round out my degree.
Easy to build rapport with in the course and cares.
Nancy was very active in all forums and very quick to grade (my final essay was graded in less than 30 min.) Forums are very open minded and she respects all opinions even if you don't source any reference, ultimately I learned a bunch and liked her style. 6 page final essay was fairly difficult given the question I chose.
Assignments, lecture notes, forums - are all as expected. Nice class and very caring teacher.
The best professor ever! This is the second class I have taken with Nancy.
The expectations for the papers are not clear at all, and she grades very harsh. Better be good with APA formatting or you will not get a good grade. Wish the objectives and papers were more clear. If you're good with writing take her, she is very very fast with grading and feedback.
The Professor was a huge help to me. I have been out of college for quite a few years. She was kind enough to give feedback on my two papers as rough drafts before I submitted them for a final grade. Not many teachers will do that. Huge help on MLA formatting.
I am majoring in philosophy so I have had the advantage of taking the professor more than once. She is just like the rating I gave her - a real gem. Constant interaction, emails answered quickly, always there to help/guide, and really cares.
Just had a blast in the class. The course was so focused on Religion in America learning the roots to how it all evolved. Professor was fantastic. Constantly present. Great feedback and quick turn around on grading.
I enjoyed the class. Prof was excellent. Very interactive on discussion. Learned lots.
The class was a bit tougher than I thought it would be, but I managed it. Biggest problem was my work schedule - no the class or teacher. The teacher was so understanding and supportive. I found a real caring person in the course as a leader.
This was my capstone course and I just loved it. The set-up of the course was so unique and the Professor was so impressive. It was great the way we worked through the course with such distinctive assignments.
Excellent course and professor
Philosophy is my major and this is a required course. I enjoyed covering post modernism and the topics. Assignments were fun. Prof was excellent.
Great course to learn the roots of religion in America. Assignments were good and linked well to the course/reading. Teacher was awesome and very interactive in class.
She is very passionate about what she is teaching. Always available.
Just entered college after five years off. Perfect class to take to re-enter and the best professor. Really took the time to guide me through the course. I appreciated all the help to put my nerves at ease.
I really enjoyed the course and the Professor. I took the class for an elective. Assignments are not bad. Forums each week. A paper outline, a paper, and a Powerpoint. What you would expect.
This class sounded like fun - so I took it. I struggled in the beginning as it was a 400 level and I thought I would be fine. Thank goodness for the Professor. She worked with me very closely to make sure I understood the material and wanting me to succeed. By week 3 I was doing just great.
Fastest professor I have ever had in grading. It was fantastic. I did not have to wait longer than 48 hours for my work back.
I needed to take a required Humanities and could not decide. I ended up in PHIL200 and it was a great decision. The Professor was constantly present and fast grading. Very supportive and active on the forums. I enjoyed the weekly topics for discussion and the assignments were not bad.
I really liked this course Religion in America. It was wonderful the way it was set up to follow from the Great Awakening forward. learned so much about religion in the U.S. The Professor was great. Thanks to her and her feedback on my assignments/essays I have become a better writer.
This was my capstone course. It was great to end my college courses with Professor Wack. I had taken her through the years and always had a perfect experience.
I absolutely loved Nancy. She's probably the best professor I've had.
Excellent instructor
This was a great class to learn about how America evolved in regard to religion. The professor was excellent, truly cared, quick grader, on the discussions, and so forth.
Second class I've taken with her as my instructor. She is an amazing instructor and if I can, I'm going to try and keep taking courses through her.
This was my capstone course and I was so thrilled to end my BA journey with Professor Wack. She is just awesome and I have had her in the past. Great teacher, cares, and was such an inspiration to me.
Just finished PHIL101. I took the course as an elective as I am not a philosophy major. I was very apprehensive as I did not know anything about philosophy. Dr. Wack made the course enjoyable and provided great guidance when needed. I ended up really liking the class.
The third class I have taken with her. If there is ever a class where she is teaching and that I need, I'll jump on it. Great professor.
Do the work and make sure you cite . She's not a difficult grader and enjoys the diversity and different opinions we all have to offer. There is no right answer for the forum and responses she just likes to see everyone's point of views. Great teacher. 3 papers but nothing too complex I turned in something late or would have gotten an A
I took Professor Wack for World Religions and I'm glad I did. The course was great and I learned so much I did not know. The Professor was always present in the course and very helpful if I struggled with an assignment.
This was one of my first courses back in college. Dr Wack made this course enjoyable but through her timely thorough feedback i was able to expand my knowledge on philosophy. Dr wack is one of the best instructors that i have had the pleasure of experiencing. As long as you put forth the effort this professor will reflect your grade as such.
This class was the second I took with this professor and she is absolutely fantastic! Her guidelines are pretty straightforward forward and the grading is consistent with the rubrics given. She is very communicative within the class for the weekly forums, and she gives thorough feedback for grades given. Overall excellent professor!
She was a good teacher just do the work and you'll get the grade you deserve.
Proffessor.Wack is an angel of earth and her feedback each week isn't only great and helpful but shows she really reads what you write. Assignments are clear and easy to do and forums are mostly opinion based and easy to complete. Fair grader and grades assignments immediately. I'd take her class 10 times if I could.
very terrible do not take her classes
Awesome professor! Had her for PHIL200. She was engaged in the course, fast grading, and very helpful. Any low rating her is because the classmate(s) most likely did not do their work or wanted to redo it. That would not be fair to other people in the class. She worked with me when I had an emergency come up. I had no issues.
Needed an elective and took this course by chance. She was teaching it and I hit the jackpot. Very caring - reaches out if you are missing from the course. I really enjoyed the course and the professor.
Honestly, this professor was difficult to work with. Her styles changed throughout the course. I would finish and assignment, receive a grade, then the next day she would mark it as zero saying I had to do something. The directions were never clear when doing so and I constantly had to email her back and forth to figure out what was going on.
She was difficult to work with. When I asked to speak with her, she told me that she could tell me everything in an email and refused. Would give feedback that was not clear. Then waited until the Friday of week 7 to let me know there was a problem and that I was failing. I don't recommend here to anyone!!
I've taken a few classes with her already. Awesome teacher.
I had her for PHIL200 and is hands down the best professor I have had to date. She is caring and her grading is clear from the beginning. If I could have her teach the rest of my classes for college I would. Just put some effort in and she will put forth an effort into your grade. She grades your work within a day no matter the assignment!
Professor Nancy was kind, supportive, and very flexible. I had her in the fall of 2023. Finally catching up with leaving remarks for my teachers. You can tell by her overall score how good she is within her role. I have found those that say mean things don't bother with the course until it is too late and blame the teacher.
RELS 250 Anniversary of my mother's death, the class was on Death and Dying. She showed knowledge and compassion, and empathy with her feedback on how my sister and I both coped with the loss in different ways. Quick to grade with clear follow-up to improve, and what was good. She made a hard topic to take and turned it into healing. Excellent!
