she gives examples to where u know how to do the math problem!!!
She gives you a good understanding of the concepts, allows you to take a notecard of formulas on the day of the exam, she even gives you extra points if you correct mistakes on your exams..the problem me and some other students found was that she talks way too fast, it's like...blah, blah @100mph!!
I loved Professor Wolff. You have to try real hard to fail her class. She makes herself availabe if you are confused. She never patronizes you and understand we are not all math majors. Her test are multiple choice plus she gives you a test review of exactly what will be on the test, plus you can have a note card and calculator for the test.
she always stands infront of what she is writing on the board then erases it, she usually goes quickly. She lets you bring a notecard to the exams though:)
She's pretty helpful if you take good notes. She has a strange nasal voice, but if you can get past that then she's a pretty good teacher. She gives lots of opprotunities to make up lost points if you aren't a good quiz/test taker, so if you take advantage of it then will most most definately pass.
Very easy teacher. Lets you use a note card and TI89. I never attended class and made the easiet A of my life. And she doesn't take attendance. If you know what you are doing she's awesome.
Goes too fast. Class too large to really slow down and take questions. Willing to help out of class, though. Nice lady, just not the best teacher.
Really nice teacher. Always went far and beyond to help students understand the class. Dismissed class 10mins early for other students who needed help. Talked a bit fast but still understood the class
Nancy Wolff was SO helpful, she stayed after class every class period with me for almost 2 hours before I had to go to my next class. I would not have asked for a better teacher. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND her. Yes she talks fast, but will slow down if you ask her to, and will help you anytime you need it.
Overall, Professor Wolf is an outstanding educator. If you have to take the THEA Math Course and you are mathematically challenged, this is who you want. She really knows her stuff and cares about her students. Her class is not a ?free ride?, but it is manageable if you are willing to put forth some effort.
I loved this professor. She tried her best to make the material interesting. Best part is how structured she is. You know what to expect. You do need the book. Do all the homework. She gives out up to 16 bonus take home points for every test. Very helpful. Great teacher!
lectures quick, multiple choice questions on test, homework not manadotry, i didnt use the book, gives out test review and commits a whole day going over the review, take home bonus questions and note card allowed for the test (hint: use examples from review); cant get any better then that! Not a slack off class, attend lectures. DO HER REVIEWS!
Love the fact that she tries to make everything easy for us. Gives us reviews for tests, lets us use notecard, gives (take home)extra credit on test and always willing to stop and explain if you dont get it. Only thing bad was that she teaches very quick so I had to go back and re-teach myself. Made an A in B.Calc with her.
I love her! Basically, your grade is made up of 4 tests. She gives you 10-12 pt take home bonus questions on each. Tests are EASY. She also gives you test corrections even if u make an A. On the test you get to use a notecard. You also get a review and practice test with no surprises! Exactly like the test! Test is 25 MC. Its impossible to make a B
Best prof ever! great and clear lectures, always gives practice exams, and bonus take home exercises to add to your exam. Note card allowed during exam, and corrections after the test to still raise your grade. Gives a final test review and is always willing to help. Book is not necessary only for homework problems which are not to be turned in
Wow, awesome teacher!! She knows her stuff. She is very clear on explaining the subject and if you don't understand, she will always be made available for some extra time so she can help you. Best teacher so far on Clarity!
Very good teacher. For tests she gives out reviews, practice tests, and even has bonus problems that can be added to test grade. Also you can use a notecard on the exams. She makes sure you understand the material and is available if u need help outside of class. Very possible to go into the final with an average above 100.
She is awesome!! Was scared to death about Bus. Calc, but she explained everything so well. My average before the final was 111. Bonus questions for each exam & allows corrections for extra 5 points. 4 exams & final, but drops lowest exam grade. I learned & remembered so much from her! Take her! She's the best!!
Exams are 25 to 30 multi choice questions. Final is roughly 30 multi choice questions. Prof gives excellent reviews and bonus questions for each exam. U r allowed to bring 4x6 index card with anything on it for exams and 3x5 card for final. If you don't make an A it's because you didn't do the HW or the reviews. Excellent Prof!
Great teacher! Plenty of opportunities to make an A! Took previous prof made nothing higher than a 36 on test. This teacher made all A's.
Though attendance is not mandatory, if you don't want to read out of the book then go to class. Has 3 tests and one final exam, if you pass the first 2 tests you don't need to take the 3rd. Up to almost 20 extra bonus points on every test except the last. Nice and sweet professor who will stay back to explain everything, but you won't need to.
Amazing teacher!!! she does everything she can to make sure you make a good grade. she does give you a chance to use a note card on all tests including final, gives out bonus problems throughout. however her NOTES ARE AMAZING! very detailed, and well explained. i learned alot!
Great professor. Tricky material, but she does all that she can to unsure a good grade. Lots of extra credit and very helpful.
The material is a little tricky, but she is very nice and always willing to work with you. I would suggest printing her notes and having them in class with you. Her notes are the best thing. She gives bonus questions too. I would recommend.
Mrs. Wolff is a great teacher and she will help you if there is anything in the class that you are having trouble with. There is also plenty of help available outside of lecture for this course is you're not a math person. Easy A
She makes this class really easy. If you study the reviews before the exams then you'll be fine. This was a very easy class, and she also gives a lot of extra credit!!!
She is an outstanding professor! I had an A average on tests and quizzes but somehow bombed the exam and wound up with a low B. I still highly recommend her though! But, just a fair warning, the final is much tougher than her quizzes and exams. Don't let the ease of her exams and quizzes lower your guard for the final.
This class is pretty much impossible to do badly in if you put in even a little effort. 1 low test grade and 3 low quiz grades dropped, lots of extra credit. Attendance is slightly pointless considering she just read pre-posted notes straight from online. I basically taught myself and got a B. Lectures were very boring and again, pointless.
This class was so easy,i got an A effortlessly. You DONT need the book, because she provides the information on Blackboard,so you just need to study. The test will be just like the review so study that and you will pass with an A!! Overall, shes a great teacher, very helpful.
I'm horrible at math, but her class is awesome! Drops lowest exam grade, offers up to 15 bonus points on every exam, drops 2 lowest quiz grades, doesn't require attendance and is VERY helpful. Posts all of her notes on blackboard and homework isn't graded! I wouldn't have passed Business Calculus without her!
This professor is awesome she is the best I've ever take at UTA. Her instructions are very clear, she helps you a lot understand the material, her exams are MULTIPLE CHOICE, & she gives you extra credit opportunities, every day she will stay after class & give extra help to students who did not understand the material she is great I totally recomed
Great Professor, She has all the notes online. Very clear and easy to learn. Highly recommended to take.
Best professor I have ever had. I LOVED Dr. Wolff. Calculus is not easy, and I definitely put in my study time, but she makes it go so smoothly. By offering the labs, and the bonus quizzes anyone should do well. Overall just awesome!
Easy class. You'll have a quiz every week in lab, but she gives you a heads up on what will be on the quizzes. Allows for a notecard on tests and gives you a formula sheet. She gives a bonus quiz to get extra points added to the test (up to 10) and lets you correct tests for an extra 5 points. All the notes are online. Loved this class; easy A.
Nancy Wolff is a great instructor to take. I was very nervous about taking business cal. but she made it very easy to follow. As long as you do the recommended assignments, you should do great. Math has never been my strong suit but I feel pretty confident that I will end up with an A in her class.
Every week in lab, you will take a quiz. Which are very easy, you can use your notes. Though, during lecture, Wolff just reads the notes she posts on blackboard. Very boring and useless. Never attended lecture after I learned that I will have to teach myself the material. Just learn the material and you will do fine on the exams.
Professor Wolff was absolutely AMAZING! I was so nervous to take Business Calculus. This class was the best class I have taken at UTA. Advice; go to ALL of the labs. They are easy, laid back, and this is where you work hands on. Go to class if you feel behind or lost, take advantage of using a notecard on tests, and do the best on quizzes! Easy A!
Wonderful teacher! She helps you understand the material. In lab, you take 11 quizzes but 3 of them are dropped. The tests are a combination of homework and quiz questions, but with the numbers changed. You can use a notecard on the test. Lecture isn't mandatory, but go if you feel lost. Definitely would take again. One of the best teachers at UTA.
Great teacher! Lectures aren't mandatory, but you need to attend lab every week. 11 quizzes, one each week, and 3 are dropped. Tons of chances for bonus points. Homework is assigned, but not collected, though it's suggested you do the homework. She's a great teacher and she's willing to help you if you need it! She made math enjoyable for me!
Easiest math class ever! You don't have to show up to lecture since she posts up notes online, but you do have do you to the weekly labs for quizzes. You take 11 quizzes and 3 of them are dropped. Also, she does bonus point quizzes before every test and allows corrections so you can easily make an A in her class without struggling.
3 tests, 1 final, 1 lab grade (total of 11 quiz). Quiz is 100 pts, 5 questions, open note & you get 50 pts for coming to lab. She drops the lowest grade so basically you can choose to skip all labs and make it your lowest grade or using easy lab grade to replace your lowest test grade. 15 pts extra credits for 3 test. Easiest A ever.
I was terrified going into this class but she made it so clear and easy! Homework is completely optional! She doesn't grade it it's only for us to practice! Quizzes in lab are open notes and she lets you use a notecard on the exams even the final! Exams are mostly the review with slightly different numbers. I made an A! She does curve.
Explains things CLEARLY! Uploads ALL notes for class ahead of time. 5 question quizzes in lab (easy cheesy can use your notes). Drops lowest test grade. Can use a notecard. I had to drop this class in the summer at tcc then I took it with her and got an A. She gives everything you need to pass. The online cd helped me a TON. I did the hw on there.
Nancy really knows her stuff. She is the best math teach. I've ever had, and I'm horrible at math! No homework, 10 quizzes (avg quiz grade counts as a test grade) with 3 quizzes dropped, 4 tests and 1 drops. She's willing to help students, but between her lectures and notes you should be okay.
Mrs. Wolff was a great teacher. She uploads handwritten notes for every section for the whole semester before the first day of class. That is helpful for those math students who get behind or like to work ahead. Weekly quizzes in lab are extremely easy, and the tests were all fairly easy with a 10 point bonus quiz available days before the tests.
Easy Professor. She doesn't grade hard at all and has alot of extra credit. Lectures are boring af though. Would take again.
Easiest math class you will ever take! You literally have to not try to get an A in her class! So much extra credit! the class is really easy if you just try. Take her!!!
What is there to say about this Amazing lady ? She speaks so well to the math illiterate. I can honestly say there is no other professor that could make me understand calculus. I have honestly taken an interest in math and enjoy attending her lectures. I have the worst math background and barely got through algebra but she makes it all make sense.
She will be the easiest CALC professor you can probably ever have. Her exams are multiple choice, and she has reviews. She says you will need the workbook, but you wont use it outside of class and its not for a grade. She goes really fast, so you will end up teaching yourself. Practice, and study the review and you will be fine.
Easiest math professor you will ever have, lets you have a notecard on every test and doesn't even grade homework, although you should still do it. She gives good reviews and as long as you do them, you will pass.
Very good professor in math, a subject that's hard for me and most others. She lets you do test corrections to get up to 5 points back on the test. She explains things well, and will talk to you in her office if you need help, and you can stay after class if her schedule allows and she'll go over the material if you choose to stay
If you must take MATH 1316, This is your Professor. Her lectures are great, and so is her willingness to answer any questions from students. The departmental final is hard, but she preps you the entire semester. Your grade will be high enough going in the still make an "A". Tip: Do ALL bonus quiz questions.
I wasn't too fond of her lectures, they're boring and her notes aren't very clear. She gives you tons of resources and materials so that you can do the learning on your own or she is easily accessible if you need more help. There's extra credit opportunities and at the end of the semester she'll curve your grade. Do all the work & you'll get an A.
She' just awesome. 3 tests and lowest ONE dropped, 10 Quizzes-lowest 3 dropped. She offers a ton of help and stays behind after class to clarify doubts. DO ALL THE BONUS QUIZZES, trust me, they'll help with your grade. Also for the final look at the workbook problems and some of her specific notes, exactly same questions. Got 94 for the Final :)
Simplifies calculus to where you can understand easily. 3 midterms, drops your lowest grade but the final is cumulative because it is required by the math department. Short online quiz every week. Notes and reviews are posted online but try to go to lectures to learn how to work the problems. HW is optional but would recomend to do it, it helps.
Makes calculus understandable. Do the homework problems on MyLabsPlus as they help. Print the notes for each section and go to class. 3 Exams, 1 dropped. Final is cumulative but she prepares you well. 15 points extra credit and 10 quizzes, 3 dropped. Try getting a high test avg. initially so that when the final comes, you'll still make a good grade
She explains the material well, but it takes a minute for you to get it, but she gives plenty of examples. She moves kind of fast but not too fast. One thing I hated about her was her voice, ANNOYING. Gives plenty of opportunites to boost your grade up if you make a mistake. Extra credit and drops lowest test and 3 quizzes.
Calculus is a hard class regardless but she makes the material understandable. Print the notes ahead of time and go to class. 3 Exams, 1 dropped. Final is cumulative but if you go to class you will be well prepared. She is very caring. Encourages you to speak up in class if you get lost or email her if you have questions outside of class.
Made the material super easy to understand. She has personalized notes on blackboard with the problems step by step, which she goes over during class. Really straightforward. She also gave "hw" problems for those who needed it but they weren't graded. I thoroughly enjoyed the class.
She is amazing! Ive always struggled with math but her teaching made it so much easier! She gives tons of opportunities for extra credit (Bonus quizzes for tests 10 points) and you can also do test corrections to get 5 more points! Advice: Do well on the 3 tests and quizzes so the final is less stressful. I didnt use the workbook at all. Got an A
Do all the bonus quizzes! They go towards your test grades and help out a lot. No textbook is needed in the class and homework is optional. I didn't even buy the workbook that we used in class and just followed along. Make sure to study the reviews she provides for exams. Great professor!
This professor gives so much extra credit that if you make a 75 (C) on an exam, you can get a 90 (A!) with all the extra credit she offers. Its impossible to fail this class! Must take her for calculus!
Very great professor. Caring, understanding, compassionate. This class turned out to be my easy class. Show up to class if math is not your strength and you will not only understand the material, but you will make an easy A or B. I highly recommend this professor if you struggle in math, extra credit points are also given (which helps).
Decent teacher, gives online quizzes each week, online homework is optional, tests get harder and harder, one optional exam. accumulative final, but lets you use a notecard on ALL exams... optional 15 extra credit points on each of the 3 exams. Only about 10 of the 130 students actually attended class, she doesn't care.
She is an amazing professor and she gives a lot of bonus credit for Math 1316. Tests are just like the review problems but with different numbers. She honestly is so easy just do the bonus quizzes, test reviews, and weekly quizzes you are guaranteed an A. Easy A if you put in 30min for 2 days
Easy Professor. She doesn't grade hard at all and has a lot of extra credit. Easy A!!!
Great professor! I was terrified after being out of school for 20 years. I struggled slightly firsts because I had forgotten some basic Algebra. I saw her one-on-one and she was happy to help. If you don't understand something, SPEAK UP AND ASK QUESTIONS!
Math is definitely not my strong suit, but she did make this course very easy to grasp. She teaches off of pre-written notes that's already online. 3 exams + final, 9 online quizzes, optional homework for extra credit, and opt bonus quizzes. Gives tons of extra credit (up to 15 pts) on exams and drops 1 exam and 3 lowest quizzes. Take her!
I am not the best with math, but this professor makes the material easier to understand. She teaches from prepared lecture notes that are posted online, only 4 exams including the final, 9 weekly quizzes you can use notes on, & bones quizzes for extra credit. Doing the homework will help you get more extra credit. Take this professor!!
Prof. Wolff is very caring, will meet with students to help. Need to attend class, do workbook in class which is samples of homework and weekly quizzes. Drops lowest test grade, final is cumulative. If you have a graphing calculator, this will help. I would take a class with Prof Wolff again. Very kind and understanding.
She cares about the students so much she offers a lot of extra credit, stays after to class to answer questions, good about getting grades back to her students, and has a friendly personality. You are able to tell she cares about her students and does her best to help them pass. If you are taking any type of math, and she's teaching it take her
Great professor. I unfortunately did not take all the opportunities for extra credit, and I got lazy. But as long as you try hard, SHOW UP, ask questions, you'll be fine. A lot of extra credit; lowest 3 quizzes are dropped out of 9, and lowest test out of 3 is dropped.
Oh my gosh Dr. Wolff is a sweetheart. I am terrible at math and not the best with attendance, but she still cares about me and every other student. Of course she has to follow what the Math Dept. has ordered, but she tries her best to make it easier for the student by giving a LOT of extra cred and other opportunities. Highly recommend the class!
Even though I was expecting this course to be difficult, as math isn't my strong suit, the professor made sure to give us the opportunity to work towards a good grade by providing extra credit. If you study hard, you will get a good grade in this class. I am glad I was able to find this professor, she drops some grades (test & quiz).
Fantastic teacher. I hadn't looked at college algebra in 20 years and I passed this class. She's a keeper.
Only small issue with her teaching style was that she teaches off of a pdf on the projector and rarely wrote anything on the board. I picked up the material very quickly and had over 100% in the class at one point because there's so much extra credit. Even if you're not good at calculus you have a good chance at an A if you utilize your resources.
She is a really good teacher. Her syllabus is spot on so you know what to expect. She gives a lot of examples and notes. She is willing to help you on her office hours. She will even make additional time around test time to help. She gets ahead on the projector sometimes, but just let her know and she will fix it.
Mrs. Wolff has been one of my favorite math teachers I've ever had here at UTA. She goes over all concepts in great detail and goes slowly so it's easy to follow along. She is very nice and understanding, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
In my opinion, when she made too many mistakes and when she used her pre-used notes, classes were too fast. I also had a bit of trouble with her handwriting. Feel like I went to lectures to get an idea what was gonna be on the exam but actually learned the material with YouTube
Prof Nancy is AMAZING, she goes step by step through each problem to make sure everyone understands the material. She gives an insane amount of extra credit and gives great reviews to help with tests, also very accessible outside of class to help with hw. There is no way you shouldn't get a high B or better. 3 tests (lowest dropped) comp. final
Awesome professor. Makes the class so easy. I missed or left halfway through half the lectures and I still easily made an A. Math has always been a strong suit so I could be an exception, but she is easy. 3 tests, drops lowest. 9 quizzes, drops lowest 3. TONS of extra credit. I spent most of the semester with a grade over 100. TAKE HER.
Professor Wolff is such a kind an genuine person, she really cares about her students and wants them to learn from their mistakes. Attendance isn't mandatory but I still showed up. She gives plenty of opportunities and extra credit which is pretty easy as long as you do it ! If had the chance to take her again I would !
One of the best professors I have had so far, makes math manageable if it is not your strong suit.
One of the best math professors at UTA if you arent the best at math you should take her. Gives feedback on all exams.
I had this prof this fall 2020 semester and she is really good at her job. She posts the lectures which range from 10-30 min and gives some workbook pages to do for extra practice as well as homework that only counts as extra credit. I would really recommend doing the homework for this class. Also, she replies to emails very fast and is helpful.
She's the best business calculus professor you're going to get at UTA! A lot of extra credit. Lecture videos kinda old, and so are her pre-made pdf lecture notes, but they solidly help. Also, it's Calculus so practice practice practice. 30% Final 40% Midterms (Best 2 out of 3) 10% Signature Assignment 20% Quizzes 3% Extra Credit
She has pre-recorded lectures and if you have any questions you have to email her. She doesn't count hw for a grade instead she uses it as an extra credit. She does reviews the week before the test. As long as you study the review and do the signature assignment, you'll pass.
She is literally the best professor ever. She gives out soo much extra credit its impossible to fail this class. Homework isnt even mandatory she gives it for extra credit. Also gives you the chance to boost your grade up by 3% with extra credit. You have to understand the concepts and you will do perfect. She also has great review lectures.
You take 4 tests in this class, one being optional to replace your lowest grade. There is quite a bit of homework but every homework assignment is strictly just for extra credit. There is a quiz every week, however the quizzes aren't difficult. She is really good at responding to emails and she does a lot to help you improve your grade!!
I had professor Wolff for MATH 1316 online and she really cares about her students. She always posts weekly announcements that discuss what quiz's/assignments are due. She is a great teacher and I recommend taking her if you struggle with math. She emails back fast and loves to help her students. But don't get the textbook just get the workbook.
Excellent professor and one of the best I have ever had. Very clear on what she expects and she prepares you well for the exams.
There are homework and quizzes due every Friday. Late work is accepted most of the time except for quizzes/exams. The professor gives extra credit opportunities often, open to helping you with questions, provides her own notes for the lecture. The lecture go by fast, I suggest to go over the notes before class, as class seems more like a review.
Ms. Wolfe was GREAT! None of the homework is required, but you can do it for extra credit. She drops certain grades. Very light work and uses echo 360 which really comes in handy for emergencies. Answers all questions. She wants to make sure everyone understands the material.
Prof. Wolff is an experienced professor. She is very natural & comfortable in all of her lectures. She records all her classes so you can watch later. There is so much extra credit. All homework is extra credit, bonus quizzes for extra credit and returns your exams so you may do test corrections for extra credit. She makes it very possible to pass.
You do not have to show up to class, the lectures are recorded but do not fall behind because the material gets a bit more complicated as the course progresses. There is a lot of homework but is not counted towards your grade. However, still do it because that's how it gets you ready for the exams. She gives extra credit and a signature assignment.
What a great professor!! One of the best I had. Pro: She has a lot of extra credit on the exams. MyLabMath HW are just extra credit. Con: Goes over old notes in class, can be boring if you don't pay attention. I suggest to ace the materials in the beginning to help you get an A, the end of the semester materials were kinda hard.
Shes actually amazing and gives a lot of extra credit. She explains the material well and makes calculus easy. She sends out reminder emails as well. I really appreciate her tbh.
Professor Wolff is very caring and wants everyone to succeed. Did not make attendance mandatory, homework is not mandatory, only grades are through quizzes, test, and one project. Definitely one of the best professors to take in a departmental course such as 1316.
