Awesome teacher! She is inspiring and extremely interesting to listen to.

very intimidating but i learned a lot from her. she made us watch a really dirty documentary which i did not appreciate, but for the most part her class was enjoyable and easy.

She is the best professor that I had at Chico State. I wished that I could have had all of my classes with her, but I was a different major. Because of that, I just took her classes for fun. She helped me to gain clarity in my own life. I loved her class!

I found her teaching style to be rather different from that of other teachers and something that was very refreshing. She is an excellent teacher who will try just as hard as you are willing to get you an A. I also am a white male who got an A...btw

She is superb. If you have an open-mind and a desire to understand/learn from a great professor, sign UP. I am a guy and she has taught me volumes about gender socialization. PS-She is easy on the eyes too ;)

Two words: African-Goddess!!! She is highly intelligent and all rounder. She is real! No exams or quizzes just focus on your attendance and the writing assignments. "Never under estimate the power of knowledge."

Easygoing professor, class was too easy in my opinion. Could use more structure in the classroom. Make the students do some hard work rather than discussions all the time.

Nandi is like a blend of all the women in my family. This caused me to be able to relate to her everyday. She is more like a mother than a teacher. She treats you and talks to you as if you were her own children. Never hated the class once, and I was always excited and wanted to be there.

Nandi is a great professor that relates to her students. The class wasn't difficult but it made you think about important issues. I learned a lot and would definetly take another class from her.

Love Nandi. Her classes make you think,and look at the world through a new lens. If you do the reading, and attend, your doing good. If you think about the reading,relate it to your life, family,worldview,culture,and society,you are really doing the work and will learn more than you ever expected.

Took her summer class! loved it! 3 weeks was way too short i wish i took it as a whole semester! learned more in this class than any other. makes you think, different than the boring lecture/notes every day...the 3 hours flew by! for me discussiong were the best part, hearing what other people thought and being challenged to think differently.!

I took Dr. Nandi's class over the summer session. She really inspired me to think beyond my narrow experience and motivated me to reach out to the community. At the end of the three week course I was disappointed that I hadn't taken her class diring the regular semester. I will definately take a course taught by Dr. Nandi again.

nandi is an amazing woman. her warmth, passion, and intelligence brought me back to here again and again.

I'm a white male who took Nandi and don't feel like she was **** at all or anti-anything. I think she was one of the most interesting teachers I've ever taken and for people who think she's a male basher or she doesn't like whites, you're flat out wrong. I highly recommend Nandi, and already have to my friends. She's not hard and makes you think!

All the negative comments on here about Nandi are ridiculous. I'm a conservative white male and I thought Nandi was a very fair teacher and facilitated enjoyable discussions. Sure, she is liberal, but she is also very fair and will not penalize you for having different opinions than hers. Take her class you will be thankful that you did!

I have had Nandi for 2 classes and am taking another with her this semester. She is by far the best teacher I have had at Chico State. Everything is really easy, but you learn so much from her. Shes not only a great teacher, but an inspiration!

Oh, wonderful Dr. Crosby! I took her summer o7, and she made the three wks go by so-0 fast with her energy and enthusiam. You will learn more than textbk. knowledge, you'll learn how to appreciate others and their views,and learn more about yourself. She is completely respectful, to ALL her students. Nandi Crosby is one of the best professors @ CSUC. She is by far my favorite teacher. I took a summer class with her, she made it totally enjoyable. I would suggest anyone take a class with her, even if you dont need sociology

She is great. Her classes are very interesting and she makes it fun.I have taken two of her classes and hope to take many more.

Dr. Nandi is very helpful and very passionate about what she teaches. I highly recommend her to anyone not aftraid to look outside their comfort zone for an education. Grades are based on a chapter critique, an annotated biblio, and 5 pop quizzes on the readings. All of it is simple, especially since she makes it fun to go to class.

Nandi's class is extremely easy, all you have to do is read a chapter and discuss it in class. sometimes we just go to class and watch youtube videos and receive no work. Everything is based on opinions.

The best prof I've ever had. Every class is interesting but you have to b willing to contribute to the convo even if it's against the grain. Any and every class that she teaches is def. one to take. Probably the easiest A I have ever received in a class, but is by NO MEANS a waste of time. Nandi was also one of the best professors I've had and was respectful even when super closed-minded people opened their mouths. Definitely take her for whatever possible; I guarantee she will open your eyes.

Dr. Nandi Crosby is extremely passionate about sociology. She is very smart and attractive. I was undecided about my major until I took her class, now I want to be a sociolgy major. I hope one day I can make as big of a difference in a student's life as she has in mine. She makes me want to be a better person overall.

Easy A. Just 5 discussions online about different topics, 3 quizzes on the 3 good books you read. all we do is watch movies about REAL topics and talk about it. going to class is kind of essential because we dont really know when she will give a quiz. if you do all discussions and go to class, youll get an A

I have taken three courses with Dr. Nandi, and would take more in a heartbeat. I always looked forward to her classes. Dr. Nandi is a professor who respects students & does not expect everyone to share her opinions, just that they voice their differing opinions respectfully. I learned much from Dr. Nandi & would recommend her courses to anyone!

Dr.Nandi is amazing, she brings up topics that will challenge your logic and force you to speak up. The online discussions are easy to do but worth a large portion of your grade. If you forget one, your grade will go down almost a whole letter! Go to class, read the novels she assigns, and do the discussions and you'll get an A. My favourite class!

She's awesome! She teaches with full energy. Very active and very interesting. She uses simple language so it is really easy for me to understand. I wish I could have classes with her everyday. She's really hot!

I loved this class! Dr. Nandi is very passionate and truly cares about the topics and educating her students. I took a night class and I didn't miss a class the whole semester. I actually looked forward to going. What I liked most about Dr. Nandi is that she let's you know what she expects and she is very willing to help you succeed.

Her style is up front and relevant to todays issues, Participation is a must for her. She strives to engage everyone and likes inter-student dialog. Downside, none, awesome professor!!!

She is a fantastic speaker but this class sucks for online students. If you want to learn and interact as an online student, I recommend not taking this course. She is the kind of professor that you can only learn from in person. Overall, it was an easy course with easy coursework. Easy A. But if you want more of a challenge take someone else

I love Dr. Nandi! She is a passionate, and very engaging professor. My number one suggestion would be to PARTICIPATE in class discussion. I am kind of shy, and therefore I received an extremely low participation score, which dropped me almost an entire participation point.

Super easy class but it's also thought provoking. Discussions are super important and participation/attendance in class is MANDATORY. The novels she assigns are GOOD and the films she shows are about REAL stuff. BE PREPARED TO TALK!!!

You have to talk in class if you want a good grade, but the topics are usually thought provoking enough that you will want to chime in. The final was just a 3-4 minute speech on a movie that you presented with a group. There were a few pop quizzes, 4 discussion board assignments. She posts the reading on blackboard so you don't have to buy a book.

Dr. Crosby took over this class from another instructor several weeks into the semester. She did a great job making the material interesting and accessible. She lead excellent in-class discussions, and was responsive and thoughtful. Sociology is about understanding the ideas of other thinkers and applying your own perspective. Complaints unfounded.

Nandi is a great professor and allows her students to voice their opinions. This class is merely participating in class and blackboard discussions. Always be prepared and read the readings because she does give 4 surprise quizzes. The prompts are easy to understand and answer, though. This class is out of 100 points.

Nandi was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She was so inspirational and made me excited to go to class every day. She gave pop quizzes, but they were easy as long as you did the reading. Very easy to get an A as long as you participate, do the readings before class and actually go to class. Readings usually were short, easy reads.

Dr Nandi is probably the best professor I have ever had, and probably ever will have. She's hilarious and leads awesome discussions. I never feel pressure to say the right thing in her class - with Nandi, there's no wrong answers. She's passionate about what she does and is hella funny. I love Dr Nandi. Definitely take one of her classes!!!

She's great, just make sure to not use your phone during her class and to read before class as she does give some quizzes on the readings. She actually posts the necessary readings on blackboard so you don't have to buy them. Participation is key, she likes a good discussion during class.

Nandi Crosby is astounding in the sense that she teaches students the real deal, not just a bunch of average textbook nonsense. If you want to learn in an effective way that you are not likely to find elsewhere, take her class. Great personality. I took 2 classes with her - as long as you show up to class and try, I guarantee you an A.

Great professor, I highly recommend taking any of her online courses if you are someone who likes to work on your own and just have deadlines to meet. She has an excellent set up that allows you enough time to read the material and submit assignments without feeling overwhelmed. Make sure you do the reading and all the assignment.

Dr. Crosby is amazing!! About 2-3 weeks before the start of the semester, she emailed the syllabus and required readings. So, we knew what we were in for. She responded to all of my emails and questions. 4 Discussion boards, about 10-12 reading/video assignments, and a YouTube video project at the end of the semester.

I took Dr. Nandi last semster for MCGS155 and I loved her so much I'm taking her again! Her class is really easy to pass, she doesn't do many quizzes, tests or projects. She gives you the questions to the final on the very first day. Just show up to class and participate!! Talk multiple times per class to get credit

The most caring person I have encountered at Chico State. She is very passionate about teaching and making sure you are okay. She really tells you how it is and has taught me so much. I am so glad I was able to take her class this semester. I hope to have her again in my upperclassmen years.

TAKE AT LEAST ONE OF HER CLASSES! Love her. Super cool, made a 3 hour lecture go by quickly and made lectures enjoyable. You watch a lot of interesting films. She's amazing. Only homework is usually blog posts. Easy essay final.

You will pass the class if you can show that you are making a direct connection with the assignments and readings. Provides clear detailed information on grading criteria. Do the work, pass the class. It's that simple.

Dr. Nandi was an incredible teacher, she takes teaching serious. the class that i took and i would imagine others are ones you have to think and reflect within side yourself. i have read alot of comments that you will fail if you dont agree with her. that is ridiculous! every voice is heard in her class. my suggestion is to give it your all

Dr. Nandi's classes are super engaging and informative. She uses a lot of videos and films to inspire discussions in class, and really encourages her students to voice their opinions in an open space. She doesn't assign a lot of coursework, and all of her assignments are fairly easy to pass as long as you try. I really enjoyed my time with her!

LOVE HER!!! So smart and educated, and makes her class so interesting. Took this class online, and all the material was SO incredible and taught me so much. It's important to go in with an open-mind and allow for your prior ideas to be challenged! Choose Gender & Sexuality as your pathway minor so you get to take this class for credit!

Assignments were interesting and included analyzing reading and viewing videos. Dr Nandi wants to her students to actually understand and apply it to life. This is part of what makes her an incredible teacher! Knowledge without action or application is useless. Do the work, it's worth it.

I took this class in the summer so its really short but basically all I had to do was prove that I was reading all the material This meant taking a lot of notes on all the material. There was one long documentary that was kind of annoying to watch. But other than that all the material was pretty interesting. I got an A by just writing good notes

Professor Crosby provided a great syllabus and a very clear grading criteria. Her lectures were informative, topical, and interesting. Her grading was clear and honest. Professor Crosby was available when needed for questions, and the class was great. I would take a class from her again.

If you want to learn, TAKE HER! This is the third class I've taken with Dr Nandi; each one has transformed me by the end of the course. She has high expectations and offers engaging content to inspire and motivate deep learning. She wants students to expand their knowledge and grow critical thinking skills. Best prof at Chico!

This class changed me for the better. Dr. Nandi provided resources that helped me understand the prison industrial complex in a way I'd never had the opportunity to learn. She's less interested in what you can memorize than in what you THINK. I prefer that since tests stress me out. If you want to learn and grow, take this class from Dr. Nandi!

I took an online winter class, no textbook required, and Dr. Nandi provides a wealth of material for viewing, reading, and analyzing. The material is engaging, thought-provoking, and she clearly delineates via the syllabus her expectations, and requirements for achieving an A. I would recommend her to anyone: Great professor and great class!

Dr. Nandi is such a passionate professor! Every lecture was primarily a discussion among the whole class. One 650-word essay is due each week, which can take a long time before fully understanding the sociological theories used in this course. One of the best professors at Chico & I would highly recommend taking at least one course from Dr. Nandi.

There is a lot of work in her classes but it it worth it!

Dr. Crosby is great! However she doesn't monitor what students say during live lectures. She has favorites. Between arguments and crude humor about former inmates from students, I never really gained valuable insight from the guests. Turned into a book club about her personal book.

Participation in the most important thing in her courses. If you do not engage, you will lose points.

Dr. Nandi's class was great! Only downfall is participation is KEY and Classes are NOT recorded. If you miss a day you won't really know what happened in class especially with the unannounced quizzes.

Dr. Nandi's class was an eye-opener. Participation is a must, but the insights gained were invaluable. I found unstuckstudy and the course textbook very helpful for preparing for the unannounced quizzes. Overall, a thought-provoking experience.

This class was an online class that took place 2 times in the week . Enjoyed the assignments . You have to take lecture notes if you are not attending the lectures live . The teacher is not hard on grading . Assignments were on perusal throughout the semester . I like the way this professor addresses things and always keeps it professional .

Dr. Nandi is incredible! This class was the best, as the live lectures were amazing & inspirational. I enjoyed every one of them. You will be moved & motivated. She's such a passionate and compassionate soul. Perusall, no tests, & a fun Padlet we complete over the semester. Participate in class & you will do well! You will love her & this class!

Dr. Nandi is an excellent professor. This class was inspiring, and the lectures' structure allows for participation and helps to discuss diverse topics. The assignments are not complex at all, and we were able to use AI to better understand the concepts. If you get a chance to take her courses, DO IT.

SOCI 441W & 363 (A) at Chico State. Unfortunately I received a B in SOCI 441 because I missed two assignments, otherwise I would've received an A. If you don't mind writing and no lecture, then she is the professor to take. Read Perusall, write meaningful posts (3-5 sentences), show you can critically think = A . I loved the structure of her class.

Dr. Nandi is incredible yet again! This was my 2nd class with her. She's one of the best professors ever, always responsive & sweet. The class was intriguing & engaging, just perusall assignments that make you think & inspire you. I loved the material, as it helped me with my other classes, along with using stuff from the 340 class too. Take her!!
