evil ****, not clear, no feedback, and tests are hard as hell
She's tough! Not easy at all! She's tricky on her tests too!
She does't care about students. Old and Bitter!
Terrible teacher. Difficult and unclear. Has a big strappy throbbing neck too!
tests are LONG...each question like an essay-- and it's for multiple choice!
feminist with an undisclosed vendetta against all who breathe
I liked her...I love her class, and I thought she is quite intellegent
Funny, Sometimes up tight, Very Sloppy Writing
She can be mean
Good teacher; Has high standards
She is not easy, keep away to this evil teacher, i heard she is teaching Bus 100W, do not take her class, i took all the exam and do extra credit, still fail.... this sux
She is pretty hard. 2 midterms and final. She talks very fast in class and hardly write anything on the board. Takes a while for her to past back homework and test. Cannot write her comments on the homework. She gardes pretty hard too.
I liked her a lot. She goes over a lot of material, but she keeps it interesting and relates it to real scenarios. She'll keep you awake! Review your notes for the tests and look over what she says on the review days before the tests and you'll be fine
talks too fast and scares away students. Is she the knew wicked witch of business law?
This was supposed to be Business Communications not a legal exploration of writing a simple memo. I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. She's not very helpful!
Ok, i guess to be fair, i have to say that outside of class, she is a decent person. However, that doesnt make up for the fact that she is the WORST teacher ive ever had. I learned nothing in this class.
I have one word to describe her: beach
I dont get why people hate her so much, at first i wanted to switch cuz of what people said on this, but i have an A in the class cuz i studied hard for her test and put a lot of time into her assigments. She gives ExtraCredit to make up 4 badTestScores
Very good teacher. Doesn't give Mickey Mouse A's. Those who think she is hard are probably the ones who mispell words in the comments section and don't know proper English grammer. If this is you, you don't belong in college.
test is tricky and hard as hell. need to know that thing that they call a textbook which weighs like a ton like your life depended on it!!! doesnt lecture much and hardly any notes are written on board and OH BOY you cant read what the hell she wrote!!!
lots of essays but can help you out a lot if you dont do well on the tests. tests are a little tricky but will do good if you read the book.
Practical class. She is nice and very fair. I would take her again.
Fair instructor, if you do the work and attend the class. Out of class assignments are self explanatory resulting in an "A". I highly recommend her class, instruction and because of her knowledge of the subject.
This class was very easy if you can speak English. The people who have problems in this class are the ones with bad grammar. Class was fun and helpful.
this class is easy if you read before the tests and do all the hmwk assignments (there's only two). She gives you extra credit for making a note card for the final! Good teacher, easy class!
Nice lady, talk fast, she's lawyer. Lecture might be a little bit boring, but overall good. And the mid-term and final are all mutiple choice. They might be tricky and confusing. But get the study guide and do the small quiz in them, you shoul be fine.
I had 100% in the class going in to the final. Very interesting class. Lectures can be a little on the dry side but relevant none the less. Homework isn't too hard and actually preps you for the tests. EC offered as well.
Class is boring - read straight from the book attend class once a week and you'll do fine. 2 homeworks over the course of the semester that are real easy if you read. She wouldn't let me add a differnt class cuz i was 5 mins late so a little bit nazish
Easy 100W class. Papers and Projects were very straightforward. 3 tests consist of writing a memo or letter. What a joke!
Although her lectures are sometimes dry, she is open to input, which makes her a good teacher. If you keep up with the reading & understand the material, you will do good. She gives you a lot of chances to pass with XC and good learning assignments.
lectures can be kinda boring at times, but she gives some pretty good stories too. the tests arent too bad. she goes over what will be covered, and a little cramming the night before will ensure an ok grade. i liked this teacher, she did pretty good.
She is a hard and unfair grader. very unclear. 100W is a relativly easy course but she makes it so much harder than it should be. I do not recomend her to anybody.
She doesn't grade easy but she is a good professor
Class was easy. Lots and lots of reading. If you don't keep up on your reading you will not do so hot on the tests. She is a very nice grader on Papers as long as you put your best foot forward.
Good teacher, makes lectures as interesting as possible w/ great example stories. Tests are a little difficult but if you study you will do fine. She gives one extra credit assignment and is more than willing to help. I went into the final today with a B+ in the class.
professor is fairly easy and straight forward. study off the review sheets for the tests and do 2 online research assignments(both fairly easy). better to understand concepts rather than memorize the terms. put up some effort, and you should get out with a C or better.
Got an A. Reading: At least skim it. Read parts that you don't understand. Lecture: Be quick. Slides are detailed and talks a bit fast. HW: 2 major written projects & 1 extra credit. Answers are in book or website if you know where to look. MT/Final: Tricky, but if you read and did HW doable
Easy A.
Best teacher for this class. She grabs your attention and is serious about teaching you. Her teaching style makes you feel like she's teaching you alone or directly. She's a pro in what she does. You will be transformed after taking her class.
Easy A. Just read the chapters and go over the powerpoint slides...
Great teacher.
she is an awesome teacher. i was interested in going into the class and am leaving it wanting to know more. all the stuff you need to know is on powerpoint and the homework points are there to help your grade. 4 tests u need to study for because they can be tricky, but very effective. no complaints leaving this class having her as the teacher.
Very good teacher! She doesn't grade HW on getting right answer but on how you came to it. Tests aren't easy but aren't too bad. Her sessions aren't excited but not because of her, but because of the material. If you aren't a law major, you may get bored. Again, not her fault. She is an awesome teacher!
had her for bus80 as well but this was a simple and easy class. take for 100W for sure. all tests are simple memos, only a few hw assignments in the very beginning of the semeseter. projects can be time consuming though, has about 5 of them. classes were kept short. good teacher
Grade: A- Clinch is the best teacher I have had at San Jose State. She is interesting, helpful and always a pleasure as teacher. Her assignments actually teach you useful tools that you will use. Great class.
Nanette is a former lawyer that doesnt give free legal advice. Class is one of the more interesting bus. classes cause you learn how you can sue people and how contracts work. Tests are pretty easy. its like situations on what is legal or a contract or what not. no quizes, so most people never go to class. i think HW was hardest part, but graded EZ
I got an A+, but it was not exactly easy, then again a B would be much easier I guess. I didn't take ANY notes. For hw, scanned for parts of the text that helps then answer it with whats needed on the green sheet. Studied 30-50 hours total 4 days prior to exams to get 95%-100% on it. 100% isn't hard because she gives extra questions for buffer.
She looks intimidating at first, but she's actually a very nice and knowledgeable lady. About 3 HW assignments in the beginning. Tests consist of short memos. Projects, not too bad. Totally recommend her for 100W. Oh, and she keeps class very short and simple. Prepare to leave class early a lot.
i loved this class...considering bus. law because of her...shes funny, and she knows her****...
Boring class, but its not her fault. Her tests were hard, but she prepped the class very well. 2 Thumbs up for her.
She is an aweosome professor. She wants you to pass and she knows her stuff. 3 HW assignments, which are are time consuming, yet easy. 2 midterms and final which are multiple choice senerio questions. The book is boring, juse study her notes and the review summaries at end of chapter. She is one the best professors I have had so far.
Clinch's a sketchy teacher, I mean she's good at what she does, I guess cause she's a lawyer, but as far as helping out her students, not 2 good. There's only the 3 hw assignments, and the 3 test (2 midterms & final) so basically if you bomb 1 or more test your screwed. Her lectures sorta help, but I just read the chap. and it did the same thing..
The teacher is good, but the subject can be very boring. Just try not to take her early in the morning. I ended up missing a lot of classes, but didn't seem to affect my grade.
She is a very nice intelligent professor, and she is very approachable for assistance. She is very clear and understandable. Her class is somewhat demanding but if you workhard you can do well. I was surprised to get an A in the class.
Difficult grader.
A good teacher, she knows her stuff. Class tends to get boring though, especially in the early morning. Even though the 3 assignments, special project, and tests were irritating, she grades pretty easy. I thought her curves on tests were awesome.
pretty straightforward class. 2 midterms, 3 hw, and a special project. loved the curve on her midterms. lectures got boring at times and she doesnt really use lecture notes to help you follow along, gives you a long study guide for the midterms, midterms have scenarios with multiple choice answers so make sure you know your definitions.
She is a great professor to take. Easy going class. All semester we had some homework assignments, 3 tests, a fun group project, a final basicly just a resume and memo stuff. I highly recommend her!!!
In the beginning of the semester, there are some in-class group work (not graded), as well as several easy HW assignments from the book. 2 Reports (Library Research Report and Interview Report), 1 Group Project, and the final is the Career Project. Exams aren't too bad. She keeps the class fairly simple. Highly recommended for Bus 100W!
There are a lot of assignment in the class, but as long as you put effort in the class she does not grade that hard because it is all about following directions. After all, this is a Business Communication class that requires a lot of writing. I got a B and found it to be pretty easy.
BORING BORING ASS class. Clinch tries to crack some lame ass jokes. No joke, but if you laugh at them she'll love you. If you stand out and ask a lot of questions and she gets to know you on a first name basis - it could help your grade. Other than that lots of busywork... Typical boring SJSU business class. Just study and you'll be fine.
She seems intimidating, but she turns out to be nice and a good teacher. tests are pretty easy if you listen to her in class.
Do the homework and study her slides. Tests are multiple choice and not made to trick you.
She really knows her stuff. Copy all the slides that she puts on the overhead and study all the terms she mentions in class because they will show up on the test. There was 1 hmwk assignment, 1 special project, 2 midterms and 1 final. Don't slack off. Review notes and do hmwk and project and you should be fine.
Shes a cool lady, ex-laywer/attorney, so she knows her stuff. She teaches some good stuff, I would deff. take her or recommend her. She does give a few projects, but honestly they arn't that hard. Follow directions and you'll do fine.
She is very helpful. I am taking her again in spring. Class is pretty simple. A lot of writing..but it is a writing class. Have to get the book to do the assignments, or share with a friend. Book is not needed for the tests. 1 group presentation and a few single ones. Pretty laid back though.
one hw assignment and one special project is all you will have to do outside of class. boring as hell tho. dont even really need to show up. rambles on in lectures and goes on 3424 different tangents. all she does is read ppt from the book. rarely even need the book too. all in all, its an easy but BORING class
2 midterm, 1 paper, 1 project...all simple. However, her final is horrible! the midterms were curved but the final is not and the final is the longest and is worth more. so whatever you do...do not slack off for the final. in fact, study a lot more for the final.
extremely wonderful woman. She is very helpful and kind. nice nice nice nice
Nanette Clinch's class is definitely interesting. The material is fun and useful and her teaching style is very to the point. She can also be very animated when giving examples of things, so it's definitely a fun class. Do your reading, study your notes, and read the instructions of the Special Project and you should be fine. :)
The class wasn't easy, but it is manageable. Take great notes, listen to her carefully during class, and make sure to follow the instructions for the special project. The final was extremely hard. Make sure you spend extra time studying for it!
you have to work HARD to get an A in that class, she likes really long answers so make sure u spend a good amount of time on every question. tests are ok but u need to study to do good
Her lectures are boring but she throws in humor to keep it interesting. Some topics really will help you in the long-run. Very informative for business majors. I like the way she teaches. Tests are straightforward... study notes & read all the chapters. There is never homework. if there is, she never checks it. only 1 big project & it's easy.
test are easy just study for them. no homework except for one lame ass 1/2 a page "project" assignment. tests are multiple choice. take this class you gonna pass it haha
She's a pretty easy teacher. Just go through the study guide and you'll do fine on the tests. She didn't really seem to care about the class and wasn't there half the time.
Shes a professor that is not willing to help no matter how polite you are!she expects perfect answers on quizzes and homework!if you take her make sure you buy the study guide book bc everything she lectures about is in the book!
Shes a professor that is not willing to help no matter how polite you are!she expects perfect answers on quizzes and homework!if you take her make sure you buy the study guide book bc everything she lectures about is in the book!
Does not organize study guide for final. Use mostly real life scenarios for multiple-choice test. Tells pretty good jokes every once in a while.
pretty cool teacher. she lectures for the whole class, but is pretty funny. just make sure you really study for the midterms
This class is tough, but Prof. Clinch breaks it down in a way that is understandable. Test questions are pretty tough in a way that you cannot B.S. it. 2 midterms, 2 easy pop quizzes, a simple online assignment, and a final. The only drawback about this is that the final is worth half your grade. GIVES A STUDY GRADE. Highly recommend this professor
I rarely attended lectures, but studied directly from the book prior to each exam and managed to score an A in her class. Her lectures are incomprehensibly dull, and her study guides are almost useless to study from. Carefully study from the chapters that she lists out on the guide instead, and you should do well.
READ and know the textbook. Lectures supplement the book, but the tests are mainly based on the text. 3 tests, 1 homework, and 1 final paper made up of essay questions. Tests can be tricky if you don't know the text well.
did all the readings that were assigned, got an A+ in the class. if you read the book you'll do very well on the exams
This class is B-O-R-I-N-G, but not by Dr. Clinch's choice! She is an absolute doll, and very helpful - she really wants you to succeed - it's just that 100W classes in general seem redundant. However, definitely take her if you want a smart but easygoing teacher who is very understanding and just challenging enough that you're not discouraged.
The class is boring. I don't like the fact that this class is mainly lecture and discussion with other classmates. It is hard to follow her when she writes little to nothing down. Make sure you READ the text...You won't pass the exams unless you do.
shes a nice lady very articulate. only problem is that most of the work youll probably have to do yourself. the exams are intensely hard so just go over the book as much as possible.her notes are terrible she doesnt have a good system down as far as taking notes in this class. she also has chicken scratch hand writting.
Great teacher. Really wants to help students succeed. Interesting lecturer. She will help you any way she can. Very articulate. Writing is a hard subject to teach but she does a great job.
She speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. READ THE TEXTBOOK!! This is the only way you will pass the class. Class is almost all lecture. It is extremely hard to take notes because she is very unorganized in writing things down on the board. Hard teacher but knows what she is talking about.
HORRIBLE at giving notes. Unorganized scribbles in random locations on the board. Even her test study guides are very hard to follow and hardly make any sense. Only way to pass is to read the text book. Do not rely on her at all for learning.
Study guides are useless. Tests are hard. She sucks at giving notes. Only way to pass is to READ!
Not an easy class, but don't be a slacker and you're fine. Yes, material is boring. Yes, tests are difficult. Yes, you can get an A if you follow the study guides for the tests. No need to take notes, just get a study guide for the test and study from the book. Passable class with marginal effort. Put in the work, reap the rewards...
Clinch is an awesome professor. She takes a complex subject i.e. law and turns it into a very interesting subject. Take notes in class (especially the litigation examples that she states and the corresponding court decisions) and read the textbook and you should be fine with the grade. She deals with the Ethics portion very well also. 5 stars.
This class is really interesting. I've learned a lot about law from this class. I think I might ready to be a lawyer after her class. Her lecture is interesting and funny. Tests are take home and are doable. I thin she's one the good professors at SJSU. I think all my classmates get A's and B's. Take her, you won't regret. I
Tough, but clear!! Must study and understand material to pass!!!
BAD!!! She is really subjective about law. The tests are hard If you don't read and prepare in advance. Don't take her night class because she doesnt lecture as much. You get out early. During her lectures she gives out examples, so having read the book before hand helps. There are 2 Midterms, 1 Final (MC & T/F)The MC questions are so tough!
She is so tough to understand, her voice is so monotone. Her handwriting is illegible and her multiple choice tests are rediculously hard. She doesn't really lecture based off the reading, but on other stuff that isn't even on the midterms. One of the worst professors I have encountered at State so far. Her teaching methods are ineffective.
Great teacher with knowledge and great energy in her teachings. However, i really struggled to keep up. As long as you do your readings!!!(VERY IMPORTANT) your okay and especially if you're taking the night classes. She sometimes goes of in tangents when you ask her one question. Overall she is not bad,the course is just extremely rigorous.Good Luc
If you have to take this class, just kill yourself now. She is extremely boring and just likes to lecture WITHOUT visual aids. When you look around your classroom, youre bound to see couple heads down sleeping. Very monotone and is hard to just listen. She might have curved the class because alot of people did so bad.
I really like this teacher. She was very informative and knew her stuff! She was funny and kept your attention throughout the course. I learned a lot from this class.
SO BAD!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR GAP AND YOUR LIFE, THEN TAKE HER. She is helpless, and she doesnt know how to teach.
she is not helping at all. tests are hard and lectures are boring. she has accent and materials are useless.
The class in general is interesting. Clinch is a very nice and approachable teacher. For that A+ grade, you really need to study and READ to understand the concept. Read the examples and real life experiences in the book to understand. Reading those was actually the most enjoyable moment of the class. Take her if you like to read.
Do not take her for 100W. I don't even know why she was teaching Health Professions Writing Workshop. She is a very difficult grader! There are much easier teachers to take this class with. The only good thing about her was that she is funny.
She's a great professor and is very knowledgeable and approachable. The material is very interesting, tests are multiple choice. The class is hard so she does give a fair amount of extra credit on the tests. She only assigns a few homework assignments other than reading the book. Overall this was a great class and Prof Clinch is a great teacher.
Clinch teaches really fast and will only go over things again if you ask questions. That's why showing up is a good idea. The quizzes are easy 5 points every once in a while to offset her pretty hard tests. Clinch is really smart and knows what shes talking about. Studying on your own will pretty much get you a good grade.
Few hws, 3 midterms, & Final. Her tests consist of scenarios and understanding the concepts rather than just knowing the definition of terms. So you MUST read the txtbook! Lectures are basically a Q&A between students and teacher.
I was expecting a really awful experience, since this teacher didn't all that great reviews, but she's actually really good! She's nice, gives fun and interesting material to help you remember things, and good study guides. It's a tough class though, I pulled off a B+ without studying for the final (I fell asleep after cramming for other finals)
Tests are VERY tricky. Pay attention to what she said in the lectures cuz they will be on the tests. Study cases in textbook.
Knowing the terms and laws is necessary. Study guides are long when only 1 or 2 questions are asked about topic; hard to know what to study. Group project helps grade a lot.
class is not that bad as long as you take good notes in class, thus attendance is very mandatory. For the first couple short answer exams I personally did not read the books. For the last 2 with scantrons you MUST read the books or risk failing. Group project also helps bring your grade up. Very nice teacher.
Good professor overall. She definitely loves to talk at length, but usually does just enough to keep you interested. There were times when well over half the class was working on laptops, not listening to lecture, & it didn't even phase her. Be straightforward in answering essay Qs, don't overthink it. I only used the book for MT & Final & got an A
Lectures are like a basic summary of the book. They are boring but helpful. Reading the textbook will help you understand the concepts. Study guides are long and tedious, but at least she gives you one. There's also a group project and case brief. Easy class except for her tricky exams. If you memorize the study guides, you'll get an A.
VERY unorganized professor. Her study guides are confusing and filled with typos and all sorts of errors. Provided powerpoints do little to none in usefulness. I'd recommend finding a study buddy to help out with the exams because they focus more on the application of case examples rather than concepts because they can be very tricky.
I heard she is really hard, but she isnt. If you are an auditory learner, you will ace this class because she will say examples in her lecture that just happen to be test questions on the next midterm. She gives a good amount of extra credit on tests/the project as well.
Good teacher. I personally don't find her lectures boring; she's experienced and talks knowingly about the topic at hand. Tests require you to identify terms rather than just memorize and define them, which is how a test should be. All in all, she's a good teacher and I definitely recommend her.
Easy teacher. 3midterms and 1 final and they are extra credit. The class is not hard as long as you pay attention in class. The study guides are unorganized but they are actually useful. Clas is not that difficult if you take notes and pay attention.
Clinch is extremely enthusiastic about this course. She will explain any of her expectations of your writing ability, so I encourage any student to speak with her before and after every assignment. I highly recommend taking her class.
As someone has already mentioned, you will do well in her class if you are an auditory learner. She doesn't use power points/write notes on the board too often so you will have to take notes off what she is saying. Her midterms & exams can be a bit tricky, but she does offer extra credit on all of them. All in all, she's a good teacher.
Definitely for auditory learners. Midterms can be tricky but they're not hard as long as you study. Reading the book will really help. Offer extra credit on midterms and finals.
TAKE HER!! She's very helpful. Enough said.
Her exams can be tricky. Attending lecture is a must since most of her exam questions will come out of examples given in class. Must read the book to do well. Gives a fair amount of extra credit. Not an easy A by any means. Group project also helps to bring your grade up. The whole class is based off 100 pts.
This is my favorite class and favorite teacher! She is so amazing! she truly cares about her students. The book is a must, lectures are so helpful the examples she uses stick with you, most are funny! I am so happy i took this teacher, she makes a complicated class easy to understand and her lectures are entertaining. Take her, you wont regret it!!
Professor Clinch is a great professor! I had her for bus80 Fall 2013. She is very clear and fair. Her lectures and examples from class really help with the midterm and final and are interesting as well. Read the chapters in the book because they help a lot for the tests and online quizzes. Very nice and informative. Definitely recommend taking her!
Hard grader with hard tests and no makeups. She usually adds an extra 3 points more or less for midterms only so those are the closest to extra credit you can get. Participation has a big impact on grade and she grades based on the quality of your participation. Be the first to participate so that you can answer the easy discussion questions.
The professor has thorogh subject knowledge. All you have to do is pay complete attention. Her tests are from her teaching. Good grader. All in all a fabulous professor.
two midterms and one final. Tough subject but you go to class and read the book it should be fine. a the quizzes are online but have to study the book to get an A.
definitely will not take again. fell asleep multiple times, cannot focus in her class. she talks non stop, so better type or write fast.
She is one of the toughest teachers I have ever taken. I would not recommend her to anyone. I am a good student, and not a terrible writer, but when I took her class I struggled. She does not explain things clearly, or very well for that matter. When I went to her office hours for help, she looked at me like I was stupid, and would not help.
Extremely interesting class. This was an actual college course; there was participation and the content was a bit challenging. There are power points and notes she writes on the board. 2 Midterms are based on how well you understand the concepts (written exams). 2 hw assignments. I would take her class again in a heartbeat!
This is not an easy A. She is a very tough grader and there aren't a lot of assignments. DO NOT screw up participation. And don't do assingments at the last minute. She is not forgiving either. Exams were tricky and require knowing concepts likethe back of your hand. There's LOTS of reading. You MUST take good notes. Good if you like a challenge.
This is definitely not an easy A. In order to do well, you must read the book and take good notes. This class consists of four quizzes, two participation assignments, two midterms, and a final which all add up to 100 points. She is challenging but you will learn a lot from her as long as you are willing to put in the work and study study study!
Really good class! I took the class two years but felt compelled to write a review. She's a good teacher, and you really learn a lot. The class is not hard but does require effort. Would highly recommend and would easily take her class again.
She's a very weird professor. Her workload is extremely weird and she grades pretty rough. 2 midterms, 1 final, 2 group works, and 2 contribution assignments. Barely any homework she's an easy B-C if you try
It is important to read the textbook for the 2 midterms. There are 2 group work assignments and 2 contribution assignments. Her midterms include examples from her lectures. So you should go to her class to take notes if you want an A
gives extra credit on midterms but exams are based on lectures more than the textbook. Group work assignments and contributions are graded harshly. Take good notes and work hard on your homework and you'll pass
Make sure to go to class. She may seem to ramble on and go off topic but when you take her tests you will see some of the examples she talked about in class. It's really important to read the textbook too. You don't really get a chance to raise your grade so try to do well the first time around
She's very strict on hw, and you really need to read the book and understand the concept in order to do the hw. Group contribution is also grade it and need to work in the class. Each exam she gives out extra 10 questions for extra credit, but make sure you read and understand the chapters for the exam.
Professor Clinch's assignments are clear - 4 problem analyses, 2 group work contributions, 2 midterms and 1 final adding up to 100 points. One note for improvement is that her feedback on written assignments is unclear because you can barely decipher her handwriting. Has great examples and provides EC on the midterms as a buffer.
Clinch has got to be the worst instructor I have ever taken, she is so inconsistent in what she wants, her quizzes are impossible. She grades everything so harshly. Why the hell is she teaching 100w for health professions when she is a lawyer. She is super strict on her formatting. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS.
Class is mandatory and she's a hard grader on your papers. The biggest problem with her class is the lack of instructions she provides when assigning papers, when you you ask her to clarify the PURPOSE of the papers themselves she goes on a tangent about the everything EXCEPT the purpose itself.
hey participation are based on chapter question discussions in class or a written assignments. the written assignments are graded pretty hard so i suggest going with the question discussion. exams were in my opinion difficult, makes sure the know the terms inside and out (the questions gets really weird).
The book is expensive! Complete chaos. This professor is just very hard to follow. Her lectures, the book, & her notes do not sync. I had a hard time learning from her teaching style so I dropped the course & went w/ a diff. Prof. She does respond to emails though. Go with your gut on this. The material is hard enough.
Knows her stuff. Expects you to know as much as her. Grading is rough and unclear. Don't use her notes use book. Messy writing. Reading comp is issue with papers. I got topics correct/wrong because she read my paper wrong. Looks for correct ans not wrong ones, so write more than less. WRITE SIMPLE SENTENCES. IGNORE MAX PAGE REQ. CURVES. USE BOOK.
She doesn't take attendance, but if you want to pass exams then come listen to lectures. Also if you skim through the textbook chapters she covers, you'll do fine. She's pretty easy going and is actually smart & good at explaining.
This class is graded by literally 8 things all semester;3 assignment, 2 midterm, 2 group work, and final. Extra credit is going to class 3 consecutive days and asking questions, then turn that in online. Lectures are off her slides that dont fully explain. the study guide is hard to follow and her feedback for assignments are completely illegible.
she is really smart on the subject but isn't very clear at explaining it to students. lecture slides/study guides are extremely unorganized and unclear. she is also a tough grader on the three class assignments, but does allow to make up credit on one of them if needed
Professor Clinch is an outstanding professor. 3 problem analysis assignments, 2 in class group worksheets, 2 midterms, and final. midterms and finals are sort of difficult, but reading the chapters she assigns helps a lot. Read the book and do all of the work and you can get a B or A. This is a class you can afford to skip but go because it's fun.
Although she does not have the greatest teaching style, if you just read the book and take detailed notes during the lectures you will be fine. She also gives a lot of student example answers to look at from previous classes so that really helps when writing the problem analysis. She is really disorganized but she really knows her facts!!
Nanette is a GREAT COLLEGE PROFESSOR and caring!. Her lectures actually make sense, and are very useful on her midterms, so pay attention in class and take notes from the examples she talks about, not just the lecture slides. Her class definitely isn't an easy A, but if you come to class and skim through the book for midterms, you can get an A.
Her teaching style made it really hard to keep up in class. Vague, an acquired taste!
There are 3 assignments you will be turning in, which are worth more than the exams. If you do poorly on those, good luck. She is a tough grader, and her comments on your hw is somewhat illegible. She gives you 1 opportunity to boost your hw score, so make it count if you need to. I wouldn't take her again. She's not horrible, but could be better.
Worst professor I've ever seem before. Grade super hard, extremely boring teaching style, messy teaching material, trash powerpoint. If you are not a very good student, and you don't like to read a lot of things DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! As a GPA 3.6 student, I just want to give you guys advice, never ever take her class.
Nanette is actually a very nice person and genuinely cares for students who try to do well in her class. There are 3 papers that are a bit difficult but if you pay attention to her lectures and take notes, you should be fine. The midterms are all based on her lectures and the examples she talks about in class, so pay attention!!
Prof Clinch is nice, however her class is hard to follow. Instructions are not always clear, her shared files are not formatted and have lots of typos, and you need to read the chapters very closely to do well on tests. There are very few things in grade book so you cannot afford to do poorly on anything. She is a very tough grader.
read the textbook. all im gonna say. she makes you work for your grade. you get one extra credit opp so make it count. get a study partner. as long as you read the book and study you should be okay
she's not flexible at all. Even during covid19 she refuses to help out students. the only thing she did was offer extra credit in one assignment if u answer everything correctly and turn it in early. If u get all answers wrong, you will only get 1 extra point for turning in early. hard grader, her lectures are extremely hard to follow, unorganized.
She's difficult and her tests are too even if you show up and pay attention. You could do everything right and still fail her class. I feel horrible for having had to take her!
Super fast-paced class. Her whole grading system is based on a total of 8 assignments, including the final. She is not lenient with her students and is a super harsh grader. Even if you pay attention in class and take notes, you will not be better off for exams. You have to reteach yourself through the textbook to study.
If you ever email her for help she wont respond. I emailed her literally 4 times and she never responded. I went to class every day and participated in class work and lectures. Her exams are nothing like her study guides. Terrible grader with no empathy. Dont take her class! I got As in every other class. Loss for words.. ended with a 69.98..
