You do 4 2-3 page reaction papers (easy) plus an additional one for extra credit, a few easy tests, and a final group project on a culture of your choice, and you can pick your own groupmates. I learned SO MUCH in this class, it's really opened my eyes to the world and people around me! You have to take her!

She isn't just a professor, she is your friend. She remembers things that you tell her and will approach you on campus to ask "sincerely" how everything is going. I learned more about her own life than I did about the subject of the class, LOL. But if you don't do your work, she won't hesitate to slam down the hammer.

She's a great teacher. I took her for a short term course which just ended. We had 4 quizes in which she gave us a study guide that included EVERYTHING, The final was very easy, but you do have to do a 10 min presentation, other than that it's a fairly easy class, oh ya and there are 4 papers that you have to write.

I had so much fun in Nanette's class. I loathe being the center of attention let alone speaking, but I enjoyed ever minute of her class. I highy recommend her. She makes class time fun and is encouraging when it is your turn to speak.

This was a great class. The tests were insanely easy, and the essays were a piece of cake. I also learned a lot from this class, and enjoyed every second of it! Fun class and easy to relate to teacher

I took this professor for public speaking because I had to, then I took interpersonal and intercultural communications because of the teacher. Her classes are so fun and she knows what she is talking about. Her stories and jokes make you want to be in class. She was the greatest teacher. I am sorry I am out of classes to take.

She was very interesting and entertaining. Just follow the outline she gives you and do your speeches. It's an easy A or B and the book helps with the mid-term and final exam.

I have been fearing taking public speaking but, the class is very positive and welcoming. Prof. Weir always supports you and gives you a lot of positive feedback after a speech. She grades pretty easy and gives you a study guide that matches the exams perfectly.

Nanette really cares about improving your public speaking skills. By the end of the year your speaking skills will improve as a result of Nanette's sincerity and positivity after ever speech. There are 3 speeches, 1 midterm and final (only time when you really need the book). Also come everyday, if you have perfect attendance you get extra credit.

i am a female, and took her INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATIONS CLASS. Very fun, and interesting class. no textbook but she does give lots of papers / reading handouts. but her work is simple and she is very caring and will help you whenever needed. Yes she is pretty, mother and very friendly and great teacher.

I think overall this was a great class to take that really makes you more aware of other people's culture and values. What to expect when traveling to other countries and also verbal and non verbal communications.

She is such a hard worker & is an engaging speaker. Don't be afraid of public speaking! You don't need the newest (12th edition) textbook. Plus, it's only used for the midterm & the final.

Unhappy with this class. Yes, she is a very nice person and an "easy, helpful, and clear" teacher, but I honestly learned nothing. Very lenient on grading. If you just need to get a communications class done, take her; you won't have to do any serious work. Received an A with minimal effort. She is a GREAT person, but not college level.

If you feel nervous or scared of giving a speech, Nanette does an excellent job of making you feel comfortable and confident. By the time I gave my final speech, I could tell the major differences in my confidence and delivery. She is cheerful, likes to tell jokes, and fair in grading. You'll learn a lot and have fun doing it. Highly recommended!

Nanette is a wonderful person and truly cares about her students. Pretty straight forward in her expectations. Small papers, easy quizzes over provided handouts. Work is easy , but quite a bit of it. This was an 8 week class, why it seemed a lot of work. You really learn about other cultures and have empathy for other people.

I had this class at 8 am and I looked forward to it every day I went. Nanette is so funny and extremely caring. Go to her before speeches and she will help!

My time woth Mrs. Wier was real pleasant. She knows how to treat her students right and make a memorable experience for most. I really appreciated her compassionate attitude towards everyone and flexibility offered when it came to finishing assignments or setting up early in class before a speech presentation.

The class environment was so welcoming and kind. Public speaking is usually an intimidating course but not if you take it with Professor Nanette Wier. I had Nanette for spring 25, and I absolutely loved her. She doesn't accept late work, but she gives you plenty of time to do the assignment and the papers themselves are super easy(this is coming from someone who HATES to write).
