She cant teach, it is up to the student to learn, plus she gives a da#$#% about the class and the students.

i don't think she even likes to teach... just horrible
I took this class with her, but i never know that she was that horrible.Very RUDE and unhelpful!!! There was a 70 year old guy in the class, anytime he asked a question she answer him like he were a fool!!We never use a $120 book !!!
right know im taking 2 classes with her c++ and visual basic but i ever never realized she was that bad she only reads the book and besides that dont explain and give us homework without even explain the real concept i dont reccomend it period
just horrible i dont recomend it
Seems a little b
She sucks very, very much. she has no bussines being a teacher, she should find her self another job..........so do your self a favor and don't take her.
she is plain sucks very unclear doesnt go over the material doesnt care about students doesnt know how to teach just ****
just horrible dont explain anything just read powerpoint slides very dependable to material if u wanna learn please dont take her try someone else
VERY EASY CLASS BUT YOU WILL NOT LEARN ANYTHING.
very lazy she is a waste of payroll period.
very unknowledgeable she doesnt know WTF shes taking about she is plain unprepared for the class and she just read the book and porwepoint slides very suck
Do no expect to learn anything with this professor. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all cost.
Uhm.. they are right, you just have to read from the book, you learn something of course. just do the work and go to the lab and practice, Read both books.Just for your well being in the University courses.
The worst teacher ever, don't take her, ever!!! She just SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
Cool as a person, very nice and understanding, but not a very good teacher. If you like learning on your own and looking at PowerPoint slides, she's for you. Otherwise, try someone else.
I have a VB class with her and what can i tell you.. If the college wanted me to read the book the could have had asked for that, not to go to that crap of class. She doesn't know WTF shes talking about. HOW CAN SHE CALL HERSELF A PROGRAMMER???? She has missed more classes than ME!!! DO NOT TAKE HER
SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This was the worst class I took at MDC. I had to retake programming I at FIU, thats how bad this class is.
Very easy to get a good grade, but.. I went into this class not knowing anything about programming. It's the end of the semester and I would NOT still know anything if I hadn't taught myself. If it was not for the textbook, the professor would have no clue how to teach the class.
Ms. Bibby is anice teacher, but he lectures about the lesson are torture. I feel as if I have not learned anything. I really do not see what the point of taking her class is. She is not that good of a teacher; I do not suggest that anyone takes her class.
She's alright... If you're "slow" with computers you need to take this class with someone else because she doesn't spend too much time explaining... just repeating from the book. Easy assignments and quizes. Only HTML, no Dreamweaver =/
Well I can agree on that shes slow VERY but shes a sweet lady who talks too much about nothing and gets easiky distracted But if you wanna learn DONT take the class If you wanna pass do what she says and thats it its a sure A if you do the HW Nothing to it Shes just U know a happy quirky person but shes a real Sweetheart
I went in it not knowing anything about programming. She's an okay teacher, but you must read from the book to really understand the little things. She makes the class easy b/c her tests are just like her practice tests and her quizzes are simple too. I got an A in her class, just do the programs the way she way she asks you to =)
C++ was very easy.. she is a bit slow but she knows what she is doing.. just do what she says and listen in class /// and u DONT HAVE TO READ THE BOOK LIKE EVERYONE SAYS... // all u have to really do is take the practice test and the REAL test has the same exact questions... memorize that and u willg et an EASY A"
OK teacher. Not really much to say. She is fair and has a "class tutor" who does help you with anything you need. As long as you follow through with the book, you should be fine.
boring, uninteresting. she's nice as a person but as a teacher isnt very good. she' easy but you learn from the book. she is easily distracted and for te most part i dont think she knows what she is doing. seems confused most of the time
This teacher doesn't seem to care about her students at all. She would just go on and on rambling about useless stuff and in the end all she did was leave you puzzled and confused. Easy to pass her class but in the end you leave with the same knowledge that what you came in with. Makes class very boring.
I thought I've had some pretty lousy teachers in my college life until I took programming with her. She is by far the worst I've ever seen. Like all of the previous posts, you HAVE to teach yourself if you even want to have a chance in future programming courses. Save yourself your time and money and pick another professor.
She does not really have any teachig skills per say and needs to really get involved rather than just having floaters in class.
Good Teacher, helpfull and fair.
Wonderful teacher i learned a lot for 8 weeks.
She doesn't know what she is doing I approached her various times for assistance and she turned around and made me look like an idiot and ignored me. She also wanted me to sit near her or I could leave her class. Biggest waste of MDC Kendall, DO NOT TAKE HER.
She is 1 of the sweetest teacher ive ever met :) She gives alot of extra credit, she is helpful, let you take tests before the day of the test if you have an emergency/trip or whatever! Lets u retake a test...I mean: this teacher is FLEXIBLE!!! i would recommend her 100% p.s. dont pay attention to bad comments, she IS the best ;)
The professor would help you if you asked her. She is willing to improve the grades of their students if they really care about it. It's true that she almost all the time tells the students to use the book. I learned from the book rather than from her.
I took her class online and because of her I learned my lesson to NEVER take an online class again. Her communication is weak; she does not give her students feedback when they do well on an assignment. If you ask a question, she will make you feel extremely dumb as if you came from another planet. Shes not specific with assignments. DO NOT TAKE HE
She is AMAZING. I highly recommend her.
Super easy she goes over everything you need to know and gives a lot of extra credit. you have the choice of taking the final which you probablly wont have to because all the test are cake. I didnt buy the book and passed the class with an A defenitly recommend her.
Highly Recommend! If you are nice to her she will be nice to you. Disrespect here and she'll make your life a not so nice one. Her teaching is very fast but easy to understand if you pay attention. Tests are A BREEZE! She let's you use the text book for all tests and quizzes. Take her!
Took it online and it consist of pwrpoint slides, reading book, and watching videos. The exams and projects consist of many questions that make u perform commands on MS office programs.Big Hint, dont waste over 25 hours watching videos and book reading like me, just do practice exam problems that she gives u.will teach u everything need to know
She was an alright teacher. She let you use the book on most tests and gave extra credit. She knows what she's doing but she doesn't know how to teach it. She didn't care if you went to class or if you left early. She's really bad at posting grades or letting you know what grade you have when you want to.
This clasa goes too fast. She pretends that all the students know programing and she doesnt teach she just explains. This class is in chinese for me. 1/2 of the class is behind. Horrible no teaching skills. If u dont know anything about programing dont even think about getting this professor
She's so sweet. I recommend her to take her class in Visual Basic Programming. Even she just follow all of the materials in the book but she didn't teach too fast. You will not fall behind anything.
Professor Bibby did not know how to teach, she was very inconsistent, one moment she said she wanted to help, but then 5 minutes later when she was asked she would say that I needed to read the book and figure it out on my own. Terrible professor, and if you don't know much about computer do no take her, she will not help you.
I thought this class was a breeze and I she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. She explains everything very well. There is a final exam for her class but it was not hard at all. Pass this class with an A++
The class is fairly simple, tests are open book, there's a total of 6 tests, not including the final. Professor Bibby does teach, but you have to speak up,otherwise she'll assume you understand. There's a lot of homework,it comes from the book so it's easy, and homework and such are required if you want a passing grade!
She does not teach all she does is read from the book. Also a note her tests are have little to none code, you will not learn anything
Professor Bibby is a nice person personally but not easy to talk to about the material. She does not teachexplain VB code very well and you are left to learn VB mostly from the book. Plan on spending many hours doing homework and studying each week. Tests are hard even though they are open book and often include writing some VB code.

Professor Bibby has always responded to my messages and has been helpful. You will be taking quizzes on Blackboard and doing exams on SAM. All of the topics were easy except maybe Excel and Access. As long as you ace the quizzes, take the practice exams, and do well on the exams you'll be fine. There is no midterm and a proctored final. Easy class.
The class is easy, and the professor is strict but fair. Everything you may need is on the book, but help is not easy to come by.
One of the worst teacher for programming in the college. Doesn't teach; expects you to learn by yourself. Thankfully, I knew c++ and was able to pass without her assistance. Unfortunately, not a lot of students had the same luck as me so run away if you have no prior knowledge of the class.
currently i am taking cop1332 , even though the class started 3 weeks ago, i can easily tell that this professor is the second worst i have ever faced while attending MDC for the past 3 years. She doesn't grade assignments on time, sarcastic, and she is not flexible at all. if you starting from zero programming I wouldn't take her class .
Just to give you guys an idea around 15 or more started this class with me only 5 students remains. This professor really make this class look an feel like a big bag of crap she does not grade anything on time doesn't give feedback awful. If this is your first programming course you really should stay away from this professor. You have been warned!
IF THIS IS UR 1ST PROGRAMMING CLASS STAY AWAY!!!! simple as that. shes rude, sarcastic, overwhelming, expects you to know everything. her tests have nothing to do with what she teaches. she uses about 3 websites to turn in work and about 4 to read off of. shes not understanding, doesnt help with zeros, she wants u to wokr around her schedule... bad.
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! I didn't understand a single thing from her and the homework and class assignments were pretty complicated since she's confusing when she teaches. If this is your first programming class, I say to take another professor.
If you put time into this class, it will be very rewarding. I got an A by following her directions and understanding the material. She teaches it very straight forward so it was easy for me to learn. I would take this class again.
She seems unstable. Her mood varies from day to day and a lot of her behavior relies on it, affecting her teaching. Sometimes she's just rude, sometimes she's very helpful. If this is your first programming class, don't take her. If you know some, take her and avoid much contact. Grading is a bit tough but there's extra credit, so you should be ok.
Every class she is very sarcastic and rude, and she shows little to no code while she teaches as she expects you to read ahead of the class to know the syntax for the code youre learning about that day. dont even try to go to her for help as she also expects you to have a perfect pseudo code before you even see her.
Good professor
She is not that difficult of a professor, online assignments are easy and so are the quizzes. Her tests are easy as well because she gives you a review of whats going to be on the test and the questions are the same on the review and test. If you plan to take his class its always better if you have a friend. She will drop ur worst test and project.
If you want to learn the C++ language by scratch and go at a pace where you can understand the concepts and not be bombarded with work that wasn't taught, then I highly suggest to veer away from this professor. She gets angry when you take out a notebook to take notes, and I, a 4.0 GPA student prior to this class, did horrible because of it.
If you are new to programming then may need more time than others understanding the material. Lectures are few and far between, she mainly will go over examples and assumes everyone knows what going on which isn't the best. You will do math in the class but it is very simple also gives lots of homework to which isn't hard either.
Won't take her again, Stay away from this professor
Talks way too much, also locks computers while showing examples. It would help a lot more if the students can go along with the programming examples. Believes that you know everything about coding when you step in class the first day.
Great!
She is not a bad teacher BUT one thing she have to realize is that not everyone knows how to code. I think she should change her approach on how to explain it because not everyone learns the same. I found this class really hard (especially when you work full time and trying to find time to talk with her).
I have taken plenty of classes in my life, and I have never hated a class so much and wanted to quit what I was studying almost immediately. This teacher does not help you at all, you usually feel intimidated just talking to her and her teaching method is horrendous. She will turn off your computer when lecturing and expect you to do what she did.
She does NOT teach anything. She comes up with a million excuses why she doesn't show up to the office hours meetings SHE told you to meet her at, if you ask for her guidance, over and over again. She gave zeros to several of us because her downloads of our assignments became corrupted; which is a problem on her end. Worst professor I've EVER had.
I honestly do not understand why she has so many bad reviews. I took her online for intro to C++ and I learned A LOT. She gives nice lectures and provides powerpoints and the book with all the material needed. We had quizzes which helped a lot for the tests. Projects and HW are through mimir. If I could take Java with her I would do it for sure!!
no textbook but you have to pay for simnet access code. great prof makes everything clear from day one and shows she cares if you pass as she will talk to you if your grade is low and will consider extending assignment due dates. made sure everyone was comfortable with office hours.
I didn't like her teaching style. She is never available for office hours but will respond back to messages.
I had such a rough time with this class. I'm not tech savvy or anything like that, but this class was pretty rough. The assignments were long, the midterm was hard, the projects were SUPER long, etc. Don't take this professor if you take this class.
This Professor made me dislike coding. The program she uses called Zybooks is horrible, they over explain everything and make it difficult to understand. I had to learn everything on codeacademy or youtube. However, a pro is that she gives study guides that are similar to the test. There are 3 tests and she drops the lowest grade.
Doesn't really teach students on how to code and assumes everyone knows how to code and understand the algorithm whatsoever. I have to relearn my skills afterwards and if you are new to coding, don't take this professor.
She's nice. Lenient with grading (drops the lowest grades and extends due dates) and does a lot of lecturing. Group work is a bit annoying but not required; attendance isn't graded and you can get by if you understand the zybooks. Just keeping up with it is about half your grade so it isn't hard to pass. She'll try to help if you ask in lectures.
When attending her class you must be prepared to understand everything on your own since the professor assumes your already know coding. There is lots of reading and assignments to do so be prepared. This is not an easy class. If anyone is taking this professor for their first programming class PLEASE choose another professor.
This class is listed as a “beginners” course, or an intro class. I don't think the professor got that memo. When asking for help (me & other classmates) have received attitude. She assumes you have background in programming and doesn't go over the basics. Also doesnt go over the textbook. Once a class she tells you how you can't be a programmer.
This professor is committed to her students' learning. The course can be challenging for those who are new to coding, success is achievable with consistent study. Both the midterm and final exams are proctored. The course includes vast number of assignments and group activities, all thoughtfully designed to encourage learning and skill development.
Ok so this class is challenging, but that doesn't mean the Professor is bad. Professor Bibby genuinely wants her students to succeed. She's always open to questions and has availability for tutoring, and encourages students to use resources provided. Show up, lock in and you'll be fine, it isn't an easy A but this is a class where effort matters.
Has a bit of attitude but the class isn't that hard. all the answer can be used with chatgpt and she lets you leave class early if you finish ur work. Expects students to know about computers even though this is a intro class.
There are many projects, but she gives you plenty of time to complete them. If you forget to turn one in, you can talk to her and she'll change the due date for you with no problem. It's an extremely easy class, and she really cares about her students' grades. I definitely recommend her so you can get an A, even if you don't speak English.
