Anatomy and Physiology is just hard but Naomi makes the class so fun!! She is a awesome teacher and she wants all her students to succeed. I wish all teachers were like her!
She's a walking prozac pill. Tons of energy and a paassion for teaching, but makes hard exams and quizes. The material is hard enough as is, but she makes tougher quizes than the others.
She'll work your behind off, but if you're taking this class, that's exactly what you need -- and she'll make that process as fun as it's ever going to be. Recommended.
One of the best presenters biology ever...loves the subject herself and will make it interesting. Go to class EVERY day; quizzes not too tough; STRAP IT ON for the tests--unbelievably challenging. Well recommended teacher if one wants to learn. She's gonna get "big" over the next few months....
WOW, very nice woman, but she needs to CALM DOWN. This class was way way more difficult than it needed to be. This a 200 level class and she teaches it like we are in med school. The tests were extremely difficult. But she is nice, you just have to have all the time in the world to study for her.
A&P is a hard class. There is nothing you can do about that, but Jones is a great fun teacher. She is one of the best ones to take for A&P at BCC.
A&P is a very hard class...Jones makes this class a lot more interesting! She is a very friendly, motivating person! Recommended highly!!
Great teacher. She really cares about the subject and her students. Go to class EVERY day. This is a hard class, and you need to work your keister off. But, this is stuff you really need to know if you're going into any healthcare field. There are tons of quizes, but they are really helpful.
Naomi is a great teacher. I love her to death! She is the most professional teacher at BCC. She doesn't let her personal affect her as a techer. Right now she is pregnant, I am sure her hormones are wacked and she still is plesant and extremely helpful EVERY day! Take her if you get a chance!!
She is one of the best bio teachers at BCC. If you need A&P take her! This is a hard class no matter what, whoever you take it with you will be studying the most for this class. She is going to have her baby very soon and wont be back to teach until winter quarter! Sorry!
Fast-paced and efficient. She tells you what you need to know. Open to questions, very friendly. Quizzes easy, worksheets help review and boost grade. She really cares about her students. Fun lectures! She has a good sense of humor.
Fast paced talker and a very clear thinker. The only one to take A&P from! Makes a hard subject easy to learn. I highly recommend her.
Excellent teacher. Very clear in her lectures, very willing to answer questions and provide further explanations during breaks, after class or via email. She makes a very tough subject a lot easier!
She is a great teacher. This class is hard no matter what, but she is te best teacher to take if you have to take it. There are quizes, long lecutres, lots of studying and hard tests. Good luck.
Easy class. Just memorize the stuff in the assigned readings and it's a cake-walk. Do plan on reading the book, as simply following along in the notes will not work out too great. Don't skip class. Don't slack off. If you want to slack off, consider a different career path.
Wonderful, helpful, easy to follow and understand A+ teacher
Naomi is a very tough, but very wonderful teacher. A + P is always going to be a hard class, no matter who you take it from. Naomi tells you that from the start, but never loses her upbeat-ness or ability to organize and explain things.
Plan on working your rear off if you want to do well in this class. She is a great teacher who knows her stuff. She's got a great personality and is a wonderful person but will not allow any slacking in the class! Memorize (basically) the THICK notes binder, go through text book (mostly for diagrams) and go to class. DON'T SLACK OFF.
Naomi is an awesome teacher. This is a hard class (as it should be) but if you go to class everyday, study before the many quizzes and use the study guide before each test you should be fine. Her lectures are interesting and entertaining. This was one of the best classes I have ever taken - I would recommend her to anyone who needs to take ANP.
Naomi rocks. I was scared to take A & P because of all the things I heard about horrible teachers. She is so clear, and makes a very indepth, tough subject seem straightforward. She has great energy, and enthusiasm, and will build your interest in the subject no matter what. She is also very helpful on an individual level.
Naomi is the BEST teacher! I took her for both the A & P classes and HIGHLY recommend her. I took the first class with a different teacher and got very little out of it. Naomi made things fun and her energy level is amazing. I learned so much from her. You will not regret taking her classes!
One of the best teachers I have had!!
Excellent teacher who knows the material cold. Study hard if you want to do well, but she gives very clear objectives. Great personality and willingness to help students. Just make sure to study daily and keep up and you will do great in this class.
Naomi is an awesome teacher. She really knows the material and maintains a positive, encouraging energy, which is especially crucial for a night class. It's a tough class, but you couldn't ask for a better teacher. She is the best.
Naomi is the BEST TEACHER I have ever had. She makes sure you know and understand the information. I found taking night classes to be difficult but with her personality I had no problem staying wake. She enjoys her job and wants you to succeed. Study and study hard. I just love her.
For the class being one of the hardest offered, she does such a good job at making the information as understandable as possible. Awesome at explaining and keeping your attention. Willing to work with you
Naomi IS THE BEST teacher i have EVER had here at BCC and this will be my last quarter of almost 3 yrs. You have to study hard but she has a way of explaining things that you just get it. Her lectures are very interesting and kept me awake. I never missed a single day. Love this class, love her!
Great teacher, great ability to get the info across.
Naomi makes such a tough subject fun! There is so much information but she is clear on what to study so it is possible to do very well if you study hard! Lots of quizes but they keep you up on your studying. I absolutely loved this class which is weird to say because it was the hardest class I have ever taken!
Had Naomi for both 241 & 242. She is a great teacher. The material is hard; no freebies here, and you have to study if you want to do well. Quizzes almost every class, which is good becuase it keeps you on top of all the material. Naomi makes a hard topic intersting and learnable.
There are no tricks to A&P- its all memorization. It's also really easy to fall behind, but Naomi helps you stay on your toes w/lots of quizzes & exams (which also means lots of points possible.) She's very helpful, enthusiastic, & quick to answer email. Don't miss class, take notes in addition to the printed notes, & read the book pages she uses.
She acts too much and dont take her course if you your english is a second language. She always give you exam really hard and you will never get a good rate.
I think she is awesome.Very organized.Teaches great!U have to work hard but u can do well.I love her.I wanna take 242 with her,but she is not teaching it for the fall 2010:(I wanted A in this class and I worked hard.U can do it,just follow her and don`t miss any classes.
I dont kow why the person before it says she is teaching good. I hopw it is not the Professor who writes. Easy course make into very hard by her. She gives exams very hard and expects the students to get A
Naomi is a great teacher. Makes the material interesting even though it's boring. Class overall was great. If you are looking to float by A&P I wouldn't recommend her. She invests a lot of time in the class and expects the same from you. If you are borderline on your grade don't worry there is a lab exam worth 120 points. Just memorize bone pk.
Attendance is not mandatory, but might as well be. If you miss class you will be lost! Naomi made class interesting and related the subject to how it will be used in a medical career, but this course is by NO means easy. Be prepared for quizzes at least once a week, and VERY HARD exams!
Naomi is probably one of the best teachers I've had. She is charismatic and very helpful, and she explains the material in a way that is easy to understand. This class is not a walk in the park though. Be prepared for quizzes almost every class, and her tests are a bit tricky. Study, Study, Study!
I pretty much agree with every positive comment ppl have made. If you study her lectures and the notes you've got it made! Tests are as hard or as easy as you are prepaired for.
You will get your money's worth in Naomi's class!! She is passionate about AP and if you are serious about learning she is the teacher you want. NOT EASY but a fabulous, interesting class. Be prepared to spend 2-4hrs per day (outside of class) to get an A in this class! If you need EXTENSIVE knowledge to get into your program she's the one!
Shes is the best A&P teacher ever. If you are looking for a easy A than you shouldn't be taking A&P at all. If you study you'll get an A. Naomi is great at explaining the material. She gives 7 tests and quizzes about every week expect for 3 weeks. Her quizzes are easy if you know the material but the tests are tricky.
Naomi is a wonderful professor, very articulate. She makes the material seem easy and then come her tests. One word: BEWARE. I have never seen such hard tests in all the 4 years I previously attended college. If you are great at impossible Multiple Choice you might get an A, otherwise you'll probably struggle, regardless of the amount you study.
Naomi rocks. She presents a ton of information in an organized, animated way with a lot of explanation and keys to remembering it all. She is tricky on exams, but if you know the info, you'll be fine.
By far best college professor I have had so far! Difficult class and lots of information presented everyday. If you're willing to study and do the homework you will do fine. Naiomi is very helpful and organized. If you like a structured and informational class, this is for you!
Naomi is a great teacher! Best BC teacher yet. She is very clear and really knows her stuff which makes the students life easier. I am surprised beacause I think overall it's not too hard of a class, it is just ALOT of information. If you study everyday and take the time to learn her notes, you will get an A. She is not trying to trick you.
If you show up everyday and fill out her packets, you will easily get a good grade in the class. She makes study sheets for you that are directly the same information on the exams. There are weekly assinments that should only take you no more then 20 minutes to work on.
Harder than 241. If you struggled in 241..good luck. However Naomi is an awesome teacher, very charismatic, easy to follow, takes a difficult subject and makes understandable. I have gotten an A in both 241 and now 242. it is possible you just have to do your part because Naomi definitively does her part. Highly recommended teacher
This is a difficult class with a lot of information to learn. Naomi posts weekly schedules that lays out exactly what you will be learning in that week. Her lectures are easy to follow and she is always willing to stop and answer questions or clarify. without a doubt she is the best professor I have had in my 3 years at BC.
You will have either tests or quizzes every single class. So if you work during the week you are screwed. I would recommend taking it only if you took anatomy before. Othwerwise, you will not get a grade you want. Notes are misleading as as her tests. Questions are very tricky and their goal is to fail you. But she is fun and very approachable.
Do not take her class, you will have a quiz on monday and on tuesday, and a test on thursday. This is your schedule for the next quarter. She gets very defensive when you question her, even looking aggressive. Tests are super tricky and contradict with notes/book. She wants you to read her mind when answering questions.
She is passionate about A&P, animated but really a terrific teacher. Honestly one of the best I have ever had. If your looking for an easy A, this is not the class. Expect to earn your A by studying everyday. ATTEND class everyday, record lectures and study the notes in DETAIL. Tests are as easy or as hard as you make them. Study in full detail!
Final will mess up your grade, it will cover new subject, entire muscle packet plus comprehensive portion including 50 quest. You get less than a week, no time to review previous tests. She teaches brain but does not consider the fact that students can't retain information for long term memory in 3-4 days and test them at the end of the quarter.
I've had a great experience with Naomi. Her expectations are high but clear and are achievable with hard, consistent work. The material really builds on itself so make sure you stay caught up. If you have any questions, Naomi is always more than willing to take time to help. If you put in the work, you'll gain an excellent understanding of A&P.
Naomi is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and presents it in a way that is interesting and easy to understand. You MUST go to class, all the tests are directly from lecture. You cannot depend on the book or the notes you purchase. Taping lectures is a great study tool. Good luck!
It is necessary to attend every class and record lectures if you want to do well in Naomi's class. She is a good teacher who is knowledgeable about the subject matter. However, I found some of her tests difficult because she asks very difficult and tricky questions. I felt the origin/insertion portion of the final was deliberately misleading.
If you need to take A&P at BC, take it with Naomi! She is smart, engaging, and passionate about the subject. This class is hard--don't fall behind! Study the notes and use the diagrams in the textbook for reference. Warning: 242 is much harder than 241. An A is attainable, but expect to spend a lot of time studying.
Naomi is amazing! I would highly recommend her as a teacher. A&P is a hard class and requires a lot of out of class studying but Naomi has very clear lectures and lets you know what is on the exams. There are no surprises, although she loves to compare and contrast, so really knowing the material is the only way to get a good grade!
A&P is by far the toughest class I've taken at BC. Fortunately, by the second quarter I had learned how to prepare for the tests and quizzes more effectively, so 242 went smoothly for me. Prof. Jones is an amazing teacher who clearly loves the subject, and her tests are true learning experiences. I'd recommend her if you really want to learn A&P.
I adore this professor! She is so helpful when you do not understand, she is very high energy and uses fun, relatable examples to explain everything, the anatomy series is incredibly challenging but I would never take it with any other professor!
LOVE Naomi! Explains everything clearly and always has a ton of energy. The class is not easy, record her lectures and STAY interested in topic. Overall, shes very clear, extremely helpful, friendly and test's are all based on lecture.
If you spend some time to review the notes frequently then the exams would be very easy. And she helps you do that by giving many quizzes and these quizzes are simple in order to help retain what you learn the other day. There's no trick or surprise questions these quizzes or exams (all fair game). She's very helpful when you have questions as well
If you haven't taken this teacher already, then I am sure that you have gone crazy. She is an amazing teacher. The material is hard and the class is only hard if you do not understand anything at all. Naomi goes beyond in making sure that her students understand the material. She's a sweetheart and understands everything has their own way to learn!
THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD in my college years !! She makes the class and the subject very entertaining and engaging. Not super hard if you put good enough time and effort. I got an A in both A&P 1 and 2. You don't need to buy the textbook. But you do need to buy the class notebook. Study her powerpoint and notebook, you will be just fine.
Attendance not really mandatory but you will miss too much important stuff. Relatively tough class.
A&P2 is way different from A&P1. Naomi Jones will help you but this is not an easy class. I took both A&P1 and A&P2 with Naomi Jones. A&P1 was okay but don't take A&P2 with her. TOO MUCH WORK and she's a hard grader.
This spring quarter barely anybody was passing in her class. Many had to drop it. It's very difficult. Her class had a bad average grade and mostly everyone was struggling including me.
What an amazing teacher. A person who cares about making sure you are informed and knowledgeable about the material. You will be tested but she provides all the information in a way to keep your attention and interests. I wish she taught other classes. I enjoyed class. Learned so much.
Great teacher. Very helpful, very dedicated to the students, knows the material and makes you to understand the material. If you work hard and take the quizzes, you will get good grades. I took both AP1 and AP2 with Naomi. Loved the classes and liked the teacher a lot. I highly recommend her!
This is the best instructor that I've had in years. She is incredibly smart and has a way of keeping you interested in her class. It is a hard class, you need to be prepared to really work for a good grade, however, she will not ask you to know anything that she hasn't explained or given to you.
An inspirational teacher for a young woman, Naomi certainly is one of the best biology teachers in campus. She lectures really well, but expect her tests cover everything possible in class. Record lectures, mark down all notes, don't skip, ask questions if confused and always review. Study guides only help little. Be ready to study yourself. GL!
I honestly thought that Naomi would be the best teacher for any subject. Not only she is enthusiastic on this teaching her classes but she definitely made me want to class to learn. I have so far recommended her to all my friends but sadly i found out she's not teaching this course next quarter nor bio 260. She wants her students to succeed!!!!!!!
The toughest science course I have taken so far! Tests are hard, but Naomi's clarity and enthusiasm makes up for it during lecture. Have to remember every SINGLE detail on the notes to get an A on the exam. Pay attention to every word she says during lecture too because it may appear on there. Study guides only helped a little bit.
Naomi has hard exams, be ready to know your material word for word in order to successfully pass the course.
Possibly one of the best and more energetic professors I've ever had. She makes a subject like A&P interesting and does a good job keeping a friendly and energetic atmosphere. She literally begs you to come for help when you need it, and her lectures are very clear and easy to follow. However, expect at least a quiz or two a week and tough exams.
Naomi lets you know exactly what will be on the quiz & tests, she always provides study materials & study guides. I like to record lectures because they are long & often times confusing the 1st time. Don't take notes in a regular notebook, write in the "notes" book that is required for class. Exam materials are straight from that "Notes" book.
Great professor! Really knows her stuff, and is very helpful. She's very hot too ;) Lectures, quizzes, tests, labs, hw is all very straightforward. As usual of 200 level bio classes, lots of work. You will flunk if you miss class. There are labs 3 out of the 4 days of class during the week which can get tiresome, but Naomi keeps it fun and engaging
Naomi is the greatest teach at Bellevue College! If you have the chance, take her classes. She makes a great effort to help every student. If you need help, she is always available via email and use her office hours to your advantage! Also, it's not that she is a tough teacher, it's more of that these are tough biology classes that she teaches.
Naomi is the bomb. I would take another class from her in a second but she's so popular that her classes fill up instantly while all the other class sections languish. I learned so much in her class and I loved her lecture style. She's so funny and smart. Highly recommend!!
Naomi Jones is super popular and very nice. She is very active an genuine and I really appreciated all of her help.
Naomi is a WONDERFUL instructor. Tons of energy and gives very clear grading guidelines and feedback. Lots of lecture but she does a good job of breaking it up with lab. Loved her lecture style and straight-forward tests. Doesn't ask trick questions and bold's keywords in test questions.
Naomi is the best teacher I've had at BC. She gives tough exams. Be prepared to do a lot of studying. I would recommend Naomi to any students doing their program prereqs. She has a lot of insight into how her class will help you prepare for your programs. She has a wonderful personality that is not only motivating but also inspiring!
she is okay. prepare to read a lots and memorizing note every single word. too many exams in short time.
Naomi was probably one of the best professors I've ever had. She's so enthusiastic about what she teaches and really cares about her students! I looked forward to going to class; she made it fun and interesting. If you're considering taking her class, DO. It's hard work and lots of studying, but Naomi is passionate about helping students succeed!
Most amazing teacher I have ever had. Take her.
Really enjoyed both the A&P classes with Naomi. Super hard class. She is an awesome lecturer and provides great information, but test are really CHALLENGING. Really low averages throughout all the classes. She is always reminding students to seek help if we need it. She will work with you on study habits, clarification, and even internships!
Had a terrible prof for Bio241 (AnP1) and Naomi is a breath of fresh air. She's energetic, understanding, and you can tell she has a real passion for teaching. She's incredibly knowledgeable and the best prof I've had at BC. She really is inspirational. Her tests are hard, but they're an accurate portrayal of your subject knowledge. Work 4 A!
Such a great teacher. Honestly my favorite teacher ive ever had. Her tests are hard and she gives quizzes often but it really helps to stay on top of the material and forces you to study often she genuinely cares about her student and gives amazing lectures.
Naomi is very easy going and loves her students. She cares for your grades and wants you to learn the important information. Just attend her lectures, take very good notes, and study A LOT. I studied 7 days a week for about 2-3 hours. After studying that much, you will find her exams very easy.
Prof. Jones is a Hilarious instructor. She goes out of the way to make things easier to understand. She really wants you to know the stuff. If you are willing to work hard and earn good grade she is a way to go. I will definitely take another course with her.
Gives great studying advice. Always available during office hours. Everything on the test is completely fair from lecture and the published notes. Exams are worth around 50-75 points. So one bad exam does not hurt your grade. There's 2 quizzes every week. Gives points for doing the lab. She wants her students to succeed! Shes a sweetheart!
She is AWESOME! She made things super clear and very easy to understand. She is energetic and excited to teach. She genuinely wants her students to do well. Her exams are hard but if you put in a 2-3 hours everyday its not so bad. I wish I had taken her for microbiology and A&P1. The only con to her class, there is not a lot of extra credit.
First exam is around 45 pts. So you can get a feel of format of questions --It wont MURDER your grade. Later on exams range 50-75 pts. She posts format of the exam on weekly schedule. Pay attention to any examples given in class. She will throw them on the exams. Vocalize to her what you are not understanding, she does care &she is super friendly.
She is more than willing to explain a concept 5 different ways until it clicks for YOU. She has the understanding that not all students learn the same way (which I appreciated) I was never afraid to ask questions. She is not out to fail you. I think her class was extremely reasonable.
Naomi is definitely one of the best professor in Bellevue College. Her lectures are so attracting and fruitful. Although her tests are tricky, you always can hit her up for any questions before those tests and she will explain to you in the easiest way to make you understood. She is just so Amazing that I love her so much!
Seriously Naomi is a gem! She has the biggest heart at Bellevue College. She cares about her students and wants them to do well. Ask questions when you do not understand something. She wants to know where the disconnect is. Ask how to prepare for class. She will be honest with you and holds nothing back. Its a hard class but she makes it worth it!
Always available during her office hours! Explains concepts in a way that is very understandable. Her tests are hard but also they are very fair. She asks very clinical questions. Pay attention to examples given in class as they seem to show up on exams. Tell her when you dont get something. She is extremely nice and cares about her students.
She is seriously the best! Her lectures are so clear and very easy to listen too. She will explain a concept in 5 different ways till it makes sense for you. She's always available in her office and if not she responds quick to emails. If you ask she will tell you how to do well in her class and listen to it! Bellevue is lucky to have her!
LOVED Naomi!! She always come to class with such a positive attitude! She will occasionally do lectures online through youtube tutorials which I thought was great! It saves so much time in class to talk about the more tougher material. She will explain processes slowly and clearly. AWESOME JOB NAOMI!
Seriously the best teacher I've ever had. She makes very difficult subject matter make so much sense, and doesn't get you bogged down in crazy details like others do. Don't bother getting a textbook. Like any 242 class, there is a ton of work to be done and she is pretty test heavy. Little extra credit is available, but tests aren't unfair.
Naomi is the best instructor to take BIO242 with at Bellevue College in my opinion. She is not easy by any means and you really have to work hard and set a lot of time aside to achieve a good grade. She makes the material super interesting to learn and makes you output the information learned with weekly quizzes which helps stick and add to grade
The way she lectures is easy to follow along. And with such dense and hard material like anatomy and physiology I greatly appreciated her lectures. I felt her exams were extremely fair & if you went to lecture you couldn't score lower than B. When you take her exams you can hear her voice and how she said it in class in your head. Great job Naomi!
Space out/miss a class and you are screwed without a recording. Would advise getting a textbook and focus on her notes (PowerPoints are virtually useless without context). Quizzes are cake. Tests are HARD. Take her only if you are willing to chop a limb and DEEPLY UNDERSTAND what you learned. Otherwise, very sweet person, good lecturer.
Naomi is AMAZING! She is the best professor I have had at Bellevue. I wish I was able to take all my sciences from her. Her lectures are easy to understand and follow. I highly recommend her class
I really wanted to love her! There's no curve or drops and she justifies that by giving like 7 exams. Thing is, she makes them way too hard and even acknowledges her questions could be bad.. I studied for hours most nights and always scored around 75-80% (class average was around here). Had I not taken 241, I would've rather taken this class at UW.
You truly will not make a mistake taking Naomis classes for microbiology or A&P series. Yes the material she teaches is hard (very hard), and her exam and quiz style is hard too as you will get to know (for example she has option choices like letter E: both A and B). However, Naomi is very honest in what she expects in you and is very organized.
I would not take her class for A&P she is very lecture heavy and most of the things she says puts me to sleep and she expects you to do FLOW CHARTS! So if you do take her class good freaking luck
Very helpful and easy to reach out to if you need help. She explains things multiple ways. PowerPoints are kind of confusing, so I just focused mainly on the published notes. It definitely takes a lot of effort and you will need to study a lot. Several exams, cumulative final, and quizzes every week. There's always an extra credit question on exams
Naomi was such an amazing teacher this past quarter for biol241 and I am so excited to be taking 242 with her too! She is super organized with a weekly schedule she makes and posts every Thursday. Her lectures are super helpful and easy to understand. There are a lot of quizzes, but they aren't too bad and really help you stay on top of the content
This is not an easy class no matter who teaches it. Naomi made it fun! She obviously has a passion for the subject. She doesn't require you to purchase the textbook, but you are required to purchase her notes for the class, which are invaluable. The lectures are long and thick. Prepare to study at least 2 hours a day. I made an A with lots of work!
Microbio material HARD in general. I did NOT like her test style. Im an A+ student & I was scraping for an A-. For that reason I would not take a class from her again. She gives lots of quizzes- 1 per week, EC here and there, shes avali outside of class. No text book needed. clear weekly schedule. organized, super nice.
THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD SO FAR! She is very knowledgeable, she loves what she teaches and makes you love it too. She has a lot of small quizzes throughout the quarter, BUT it helps prepare you for the exams. The labs are fun and there are helpful exam study guides. Loved it. I wish I could take her for all of my classes!
I really don't know why she has such spectacular reviews. It feels like she gets joy out of making her class and her tests extremely difficult. She falls behind on lectures and has a lot of "push" days where she crams a ton of material into 2 hours. Expectations are way too high for a BC class. I would not recommend.
Naomi is great at simplifying complex A&P topics. She uses drawings and examples to help material click. She is organized and thoughtful about the material/resources she provides students. All of which are very helpful for the test. If you are going into healthcare and want to truly understand the subject, Naomi will help you get there.
BioL241 is a hard class, but she made it an interesting class. She's very passionate and wants you to succeed. Definitely need to take her!
She accepts misspelling on quizzes. She structures her tests like the NCLEX she she may have a,b,c,a and c, a and b. Make sure you know you material to the very details. She teaches very clearly and some examples she gives you in class are asked in tests. She is extremly kind. and will even answer questions on test day. best teacher ever!
Very boring lectures, heavy home work and tough grader. Be careful to register her online class. Not recommend.
Friendly prof and sweet. She made class enjoyable and interesting but material is very hard. Tests are very detailed and tough grader. So much studying needs to be done to do well, she doesn't make it easy. Prepare to study 2-3 hours a day minimum. If you are an average student, you won't do well. Wouldn't take again but love her personality.
Naomi is sweet. I asked her the same question three times, she responded to my email twice, and explained again in her office hours. The materials absolute hard because it is A&P, but when you spend extra three hours five times a week to understand the materials, you will make it an A! Please do not skip any classes! Choose her!!
One of the best teachers I've ever had. The material she teaches is not easy, but the way she breaks things down into its simplest bits is amazing. If you follow her lead and do the assignments on time.. you will get an A. Also the passion she has for the subject is infectious. Highly Recommended.
Hands down best lecturer I have ever had in any subject. Instead of giving you tons of info and expecting you to study it all in your own way, she fully teaches and practices concepts during lectures. Attending zoom isn't mandatory but is a great resource. She provides a ton of resources and tells you what will be on the exam and tips to study it.
I would not take her class for A&P her lecture really heavy and most of the things she says puts me to sleep! Not allowing students asking questions. She is detail orientated, picky, and haughty instructor. She may suit some students, while not my taste. I studied by myself.
Not very supportive. Asked for help and ways to improve but instead got snarky remarks on my character and capabilities. Her ego is huge. I know lots of other students who have had similar problems with her. Wouldn't recommnd her.
Lots of quizzes and assignments but they don't count for many points, the exams hold most of the weight. First class I've ever taken that requires to be filmed while taking exams. There's almost no time allotted on quizzes and exams, so your gonna be rushing. All my exams this quarter had student averages of 60%. Have fun failing!
Thinks so highly of herself but she's not a very good teacher. Lol
She makes you buy a book of notes instead of the textbook and doesn't even teach to the notes. Watch her lectures or u won't pass. The lectures are also boring. Make sure to do the labs in advance because they take a few days to finish but she doesn't mention it anywhere.
Microbio is a very hard class. Her modules are organized, very good at explaining when she lectures. Includes homework assignments and labs to help you apply the material you learned and understand it more. Had us buy a book a notes that she elaborated on further in her lectures. Tests are hard but formatted very well. Study guides are useful!
If you ever need to take A&P do it with Professor Naomi. She made difficult concepts easy to understand as well as interesting! She provides notes for the whole course, study those and you will get an A. She was respectful of students, provided great feedback, and was easily accessible outside of class.
Good recorded lectures. A ton of availability for office hours. Gives her own notes on the course. She will give out a weekly schedule on what an average student should be doing to keep up in her class. If you follow it, you won't be scrambling as much come exam time. There is about an exam every 2 weeks of the course. They are difficult and long.
Clear outline and ppt's provided. Good lecturer but overall, just too much info. Need to eliminate the unnecessary or "just so you know" info vs what you really need to know and you can't decipher this in her lectures. Book was optional. Very hard tests. Tests are times and she requires a lockdown or honorlock browser so you are recorded.
Hard class. avg 70 Q tests. Grade based off 700 pts: Labs and assignments (13% of grade easy)Quizzes (17% of grade)Exams(70% of grade -Hard) Endocrine, exam 1 which is easier then the other exams get more difficult. The heart is next followed by blood vessels and bp regulation, ph/urinary. Final is 2/3digestiveRepr,1/3 comprehensive(111 Q final).
Love this professor! She's awesome and genuinely tries her best to help you pass. The class is indeed hard, but that's not something she can control. She gives amazing lectures and breaks down concepts very well.
I loved taking microbiology with Naomi, she is very enthusiastic about what she teaches and she truly wants you to succeed. She is very accessible outside of class and answers any question you may have. If I could take her again I would.
I am currently in week 3 of this class and the teacher is amazing and accessible in and out of class. You need to put a lot of time in but she makes it as straightforward as possible. We are supposed to be in person on Jan 28, 2022. I will write another review once the quarter ends and I have done both in-person and online lecture/attendance.
highly accessible teacher, will make extra effort if you do. This was my first class for sceince aboce the 200 level and i got an A while dedicating 6ish hours a week to making notecards and color diagrams outside of the lecture and lab time.
I took Professor Jones for A&P I and II. She is the best teacher I've ever had. Her class is challenging, but she does a great job simplifying concepts. Very organized and gives daily/weekly schedule. Very fair, though, don't get behind. Drops 3 lowest quiz/lab scores. HIGHLY recommend. Just be prepared to put in a lot of effort, but it's worth it!
AMAZING professor. Super approachable, her lectures are really well structured and she wants you to learn. Be prepared to DO THE WORK though! She wants you to succeed but this is NOT an easy class.
Naomi seems an enthusiasm instructor while her teaching is really old style. Taking her class is waste of my time and her office hour not helpful. Her explanation make students confused and try to be a complexed way instead of keeping it simple. Not recommend her at all.
Naomi is the best professor I had so far! She makes amazing lectures that breakdown hard concepts and doesn't try to trick you on tests. A&P is a hard class, so as long as you prepare to set aside time to study. She made the content fun and was always willing to answer questions or help outside class. I wish I could take all my sciences with her!
Naomi is easily one of the best professors I've have had. She is very enthusiastic, organized, accessible outside of class and kind. I love that she even goes the extra mile to include a weekly schedule of what you should do each day to stay on track. You do have to put in the work but this professor gives you every resource you need to succeed.
You get out of Naomi's classes what you put into them. I took her for both BIO 241 and BIO 242 and got an A in both. She genuinely wants you to succeed. She gives you ALL the tools for success, including many different types of study materials that she's found works for past students, one-on-ones outside of class. PUT IN THE TIME, DO THE WORK.
Naomi admits she enjoys crafting tricky exam questions (60-75% exam average). Her essay-like notes lack essential information differentiation and may not suit unfocused learners. Expect detail-heavy exams. It can be a fun class, but please consider negative reviews. Confident students will likely enjoy it, but second-guessers should be cautious.
Shes a great person and gives out a lot of study materials and weekly schedules to keep you on track. Microbio 160 textbook is optional but you have to watch maybe 4, 1-hour lectures a week, if you don't like reading shes a good choice. I agree with other reviews she has tough, detailed-oriented exams. Overall decent micro prof at Bellevue college
I enjoyed Bio 242 with Naomi. She has all her lectures recorded. No textbook. She provides all weekly schedules on canvas so this helps you stay on track. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! You can easily fall behind in this class. She gives students so many different resources. Stay on top of things! I would take naomi again. Highly recommend
Naomi made A&P much more enjoyable than how it is often perceived as. There was a lot of work involved outside of the class such as lecture videos and possibly a worksheet to complete, but she always structured it in a way that doesn't feel as overwhelming. She's clear about her expectations and truly cares a lot about the success of her students.
For A&P 241 I didn't take her, and my professor absolutely sucked. Going into her 242 class I was very nervous that I would fall behind without foundational knowledge. But she is SO great! She gives you so many ways to interact with the material, there's really no reason to fail. She gives you every opportunity to succeed! She is absolutely great!
She is AMAZING. She truly cares about what she's teaching & that you are learning from it. I struggled so much with A&P1 with a bad professor that I was anxious coming into this class. But omg I love biology and anatomy again! These topics aren't necessarily easy either, but she makes it possible. She offers tons of material to help you succeed.
The best teacher I ever had in USA
Very well-organized and wonderful lectures. If you want to learn, this is your teacher
Naomi is without a doubt one of the best teachers at BC, probably the best, the down side is that now I see how much skill other teachers I currently have lack off. It's quite disappointing really, the fact that BC doesn't offer super high quality teaching for all the classes the college offers, like Naomi provides her students with.
Naomi is well organized and the grading criteria is very clear. You get tested on exactly what she says you will so time spent studying can be very focused. Do not fall behind in this class, If you are good with your time management then this should be an easy "A" for you.
Take A&P series with her. She's the best!!! I learned a lot in her class. If you can spend 3 hours everyday to watch her lecture and study her note. You will get an A!!!
Professor Jones runs a structured class with clear grading criteria. Expect challenging exams, but with dedicated studying using resources like unstuck ai, this can be a rewarding experience. Attendance is mandatory, so stay engaged.
Teaches very well, extremely lecture heavy but labs are incredibly interesting. Prelabs are required, quite a few small quizzes leading up to exams but she does create a complete notesheet about everything she covers over the course and teaches according to the notesheet. Very nice and helpful teacher.
Professor Jones is one of the best professors at Bellevue college. I took her for microbiology and A and P 1. Although I am not the best student and these courses are extremely difficult she really wants you to succeed. Watching the lecture videos and studying the notes are key to success in this class.
Nice professor but a hard and crammed class, almost felt like a weeder class with the amount of work. First half of quarter is pretty easy but gets extremely crammed at the end where in March we were doing almost 3 units at once with an exam every week. She provides lots of resources for studying but is still the hardest class I've taken at BC
Naomi might be Bellevue College's best kept secret. I have had several outstanding professors here at BC. Within the first week of her class, I knew she was among the best of the best. By the end of the quarter, she was easily THE BEST prof I've taken. The number of extra resources she provides is so above and beyond! You'll learn so much from her!
Naomi is an amazing professor. Her lectures are engaging and she gives a TON of resources to help you succeed in her class.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Super engaging and clearly cares about her students actually understanding/retaining difficult A&P concepts. She provides SO MANY resources to help make the material more digestable and truly gives you everything you need to succeed, as long as you use the resources and engage with the content frequently.
I feel like the exams are so incredibly hard and the stuff you learn in lecture does not cover the depth of the questions at all. They are very tricky and cover far above what you actually learn. I have had better professors, completely unnecessary test difficulty, study guide doesn't prepare you either. I wouldn't take her again.
By far the best professor I have ever had, and it's not even close. She provides a TON of extra resources, and if you use them and keep up with all of the lectures, you'd have to try to fail. That being said, it's a fast-paced class that covers a lot of ground, so stay on top of it! Tests are tough, but they're always on stuff that's been covered.
If you are taking A&P 1 or 2 I would highly recommend Naomi. She is seriously the best science professor I've had and really cares about what you have going on. She takes her time when explaining things and gives you all the resources you could need. She reaches out to you if she notices something off in your attendance, etc. Just a great person!
If you are getting ready to take A&P 1 or 2 most def take it with Naomi. She is such an awesome person—who cares about what you have going on and will do her best to help you succeed in her class. I had to retake A&P 1 twice due to personal circumstances and Naomi always encouraged and knew I could excel in that class before even I did.
She is nice professor, but if you want credit, More carefully consider taking her. There are lot of stuff you have to remember and study! Also she's Exam is pretty difficult and she only gives few extra credit. In addition, the grading on written responses is really harsh. I taked this class with another hard lac classes so it wasn't easy to handle
I would never take her again. She's a very tough grader. The class itself is difficult, but still easier than A&P. There are no extra credits, and to get a good grade she expects you to know everything perfectly. She explains the material, but her quizzes and exams drop your grade every time.
This class is MUCH harder than expected. The material is an extremely advanced course, and the notes are long & overwhelming. The level doesn't match the syllabus or typical 260 standards. Be prepared for a very heavy, fast-paced workload. Course violates WA Bio standards. This class made me want to become an alcoholic. Don't be fooled by the rates
