He's arrogant but he is easy. He doesn't depend on the exams to pass you. Everything matters, if you come to class, do the homework, that's already a B+. But if you get grades on exams but never come to class, that's C. And he has allows cheat cards...
Aight here we go, he is an easy grader i have to say that, as long as you come to class and do the homework. (thats the good part) He is a pain in the ass, the tests are hard, besides a select few nobody knows what is going on in the class. DON'T TAKE

Worst Iv'e ever had in the school!!!!!!! Don't Take.
He is probably the worst professor at BAruch. He is very arrogant and always talks about himself. Almost everyone in the class does not what is going on with his lectures. DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN!!!!!!
a lot of BlackBoard notes to read and understand and a lot to read in book. Specifies that you dont need to memorize things for exam yet gives a lot to read and study. Exams difficult. Pop Quizes. Dont talk/sleep in class, he'll embarrass you.
Alway prepared,& clear in his subjects topics, He will do his best to help the student understand the topics, One of the best professors I've had during these three years at Baruch (AS)
If you want to learn something from your college education, he is the teacher to take.He emphasizes LEARNING and not memorizing. He won't go foward until the class understands the material. Very helpful professor. Always there when you need. The best teacher I've had in Baruch so far.
Hard class. I think he really loves teaching. Never gets tired of questions. His notes are many as he keeps adding more to them. A lot of readings, but I think he's too strict for basic mgt class.
DO NOT TAKE! AWFUL! Arrogant, full of himself, boring. We were there every time, had As on all HWs and Midterms and ended up with B. Very hard to follow him, he has a set of his own complicated rules that u have to follow. Bad experience.
he's very hard professor but you learn something in his class he's real helpful also, he gives you chances to make up your grade so take him
hes an awfully nice guy very helpfull. didnt learn anything but an easy grader
alot of notes. boring. Doesn't explain the work clearly. Makes you feel exhausted because he rephrases the questions so much you don't know what the hell he's talking about.
very helful and nice guy, but the material is a bit confusing and he makes it even more so,and most of the class is like lost. His exams are not realistic for the time required. easy grader though and he gives generous curves
Man oh man, so much to say. He guys is a genius with 12 books out, but the class is more like a PHD class for Management. You'll be reading 30 pages notes on blackboard with formulas Einstein himself won't figure out. Great guy of course, not rude, can't complain. class is hard, do hw,
The course is supposed to be an easy statistics based course, and the textbook is easy to understand. But this professor makes the class so much more complicated. He teaches on a graduate level. He goes by his "notes" which are very confusing. Perhaps he needs to change the textbook to fit his class
If every professor in Baruch taugh like him, we would all leave with a top notch education. Having said that, Loomba is VERY hard professor. YOU WILL NOT GET BY if you memorize. Recommend him if you MGT major and need to actually learn this stuff.
the hardest professor. his notes are very confusing. tests are so hard. do not take.
I am really dissapionted with prof loomba. I was actually one of the people that knew what he was talking about but he gave me B+. People don't know anything about the class and get A's. Very unfair. have no idea what he bases the grading on, but it is not knowledge for sure
I got an A, but had no idea what was going on in the class. I studied past question i got from my friends and question posted on the reserve. He does not change the question when he asked them on exam. What I studied was EXACTLY the same as what he gave in class. HE SHOULD RETIRE
The worst prof. I have ever had. I got A, but didn't learn anything. Only for attending tutoring sessions at 6.30 am (yes, that early) I passed the class. He makes it very hard, although I think it is not that difficult (book quite simple, but you dont need it). His blackboard notes are crazy.
If you want to be a management Phd I will strongly recommend him. this dude goes way over what the actual material is. if he were to go according to the book this course is simple statistics. his grading i think is purely subjecttive. if u can make it to his class an hour earlier u will get an A
If u cannot suck up to him, which means coming to class 1 hr before i.e 6:30 in the morning, do not take him. he is purely subjective. otherwise if ur able to show up at 6:30 and make your presence noticeable to him I can assure u an A.
Come to class at 6:30 and act like you're really interested in this totally pointless class and voila an A! Worked for me!
get to class 1 hr. early and act like you are learning and interested (even if you're not) and you will get an A! He also give you the answers to the HW if you get there early..TESTS...straight from old quizzes!
This man is a genius...he practically wrote his own book on management...if you come at 6:30 in the morning you will 100% get an A...HOWEVER you must do your work as well....make sure you participate (he loves that) and come to class everyday...he is a very nice professor he is always there for you...always
No idea how he grades, except the fact that its based on how others perform. Did all my hw, absent once, good quiz/test grades did the term project and still got a B. It was one general big class and everyone copied off each other so I'm baffelled how he can give grades comparatively. btw he reads this site and will respond to our comments lol
This man is great. He is very clear and explains what you need to know. If you are serious about marketing take him. If not, a different prof. might be a better choice. Gives early review session before each class (at 6:30am) I find this is where I learn the most. Grades are not most important to him. Must show you are trying and READ HIS NOTES!
Ridiculous hard and tedious class. OTHER SECTIONS OF the SAME op mgt class learn a LOT less material than in this class. Tests are RIDICULOUSLY difficult. With widespread cheating test average is a 60...
He makes it seem like you're doing really great all along. He gives extremely hard tests and open book doesn't even help. He gives you no indication of how your grade will look in the end, and you are left flabbergasted by the grade you get. You come early thinking it will help you..but it only helps him make his outline for the next class. GAG
make sure you do all the questions in past test/ quiz, he repeats questions all the time. no need to buy book, just study his notes & pay attention in class. come to class on time or he'll mark you absent. but final is mad difficult!!!!!!
doesnt teach the class he lets you bring index cards during tests, which usually does not help. He doesnt show how to approach any problems. He tells you to read his notes which can be 30 pgs long for a chapter. goes thru all chapters, unlike other MGT 3121 classes. He says he grades accrding to the class avg, but never once told us the class avg b
He is old school. I got a B out of him and only because i missed some classe (Class was early morning). I actually liked him even though he used to pick on me for every question. I guess he liked me :) Proff Loomba is a decent guy which i recomend
very bad
Prof is crazy, starts class @ 6:30am, class is supposed to start @ 7:25am. Picks favorites. Attendance is taken daily or -5 on the test for every absense. Gives @least 20 pgs of notes per chapter, his syllabus is freakin 14 pgs long. Tests are crazy hard, nothing compared to what you do in class. Everyone was lost, take @ ur own risk. Not worth it.
he thinks his class is the only class you are taking. his notes are ridiculously long and so boring. DONT TAKE HIM!
by the far the worst professor in baruch. Means well but His teaching style is outragous. Has his own personal philosophy that everyone should be only taking 3 classes a semester and doing nothing else with their lives, if you do not agree you will not do well. STAY CLEAR OF HIM.
he should retire. Never take him!
This guy is crazy! his notes are way to long and you dont even know what the hell your going to get on the midterm or final. He does mean well but his not my top of teaching. Just show up early, study hard, and ask alot of questions
I think he is one of the best professors at baruch, he has a lot of experience, he knows his stuff...You just have to study hard and study his old quizes and examination, if you do it you are good...And also be always on time and participate. One of the best despite of what people say!!!!
If you've already taken MGT 3120, dont go into this class thinking it will be the same. This class is a lot more mathematical/statistical. This professor knows his stuff and he expects his students to know it as well. He is a good guy and means well, but the class isnt easy. He doesnt use the book much, so you have to go and take really good notes.
knows his stuff but you should avoid him at all costs. really. makes everything so much more complicated and does have favorites. you'll never know what you're getting in the class until you get the grade from the registrar's office. posts old quizzes but they're so long and each of the questions are so time consuming. no ans. key provided at all
People complain but I took him over the summer and I thought he was an excellent professor, explains everything over and over till you understand. Morning review sessions extremely helpful, worth it!
Professor Loomba is great! he really is helpful and means well. ALmost all of his quizzes are take home and he even has take home exams....maybe two in class exams for which he allows index cards. He does give HW but its not bad and you can work in groups. BUT he is STRICT with Attendance, talking in class..Take him! least u can get B.
lots of take home exams, which we get to work in groups for. he says if you're never absent, you get at least a B. easy grader
i am also one of the very few people who understand his stuff and did all the homeworks and 100% attendance and got a B-. most of the class only copy from each other and they got good grades
Trust me u will suffer after you get ur final grade !!! it is clearly stated in his "14 page course syllabus" which nobdy reads...that even if your avg is 85 to 90 at the end u can still get a C which is ridiculous !! and der is no way he will change ur gradee once its posted !
STAY AWAY !! u will be fine during the semester because he lets u study in groups n he gives curves n his tests are easy BUT BUT notthing matters at all because his grades are horrible like trust me even if u are an A person u will get a C or worse n GOD nows how he gradess..n at da end of da semster u will not be able to find him to discuss your g
he makes this class like a PHD class there is soo much readingg !! each chapter is like 30 or more pgs of reading..with soo much detail...there is stuff dat u dont need to knoe in der..but he never tells u whut not to readd...looooots of wooorrkk !!
atendece is mandaotory...even if you are 5 mins late you are ABSENT...because there is no such thing as late for him n only 1 absence allowed...but u never know if dat was considered because he never tells you whut ur grade was based on....n there is a lot of work u have to..which does not get paid off at the end.
He ruined my GPA because no one can understand his grading system. He has favorites and if you get there late by a minute you will be absent for the day and wont get a good grade. I hated this class with a passion.
awesome teacher ... works hard WITH the students ... develops interest in the subject.. really helpful..
He is the worst professor in Baruch College. He he is not a fair professor.
I would say he has his good and bad points. His good would consist of a professor who cares for his students. He really does show it no matter how much you hate his teaching method. The way he teaches is not by memorizing but understanding. He gave a curve. His bad is very hard exams. You can not be late for 1 minute or absence. "NO TALKING" !
Doesn't really teach. Gives True/False questions for each chapter and just goes over the ones student ask about. Exams are very confusing because questions are very wordy. He ends up giving back alot of points because of bad questions. Attendance is a HUGE part of your grade. He has an old school style of teaching and he is super boring.
awesome
This is the first class I had to drop. Really just an old miserable guy. Whatever he's teaching it seems like you have to pull it out of him, and even if you ask a question you'll be lucky if he answers it in a straightforward manner. LOADS of homework. not a single good word to describe him.
Attendance, mandatory. He says you'll get atleast a B if you attend every class, don't know what people are complaining about. He will explain until you don't understand something. The people who dropped probably never came to class. Just try to do your best. Work can be a lot sometimes but you have to understand that 3121 is a lot harder than 3120
Very old and miserable man. If you are ambitious, smart person or if you are not so smart person you will do poorly in this class because he is rounding up 1.3 to 2 on the multiple choice exam. It is impossible to get correct answers unless you are kissing his feet (which he loves).
STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO LEARN. I BELIEVE ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE WRITTEN BY HIS FAMILY! HE IS THE WORST IN BARUCH.
Stay away from this professor. He is helpful, but the exams and quizzes are not easy and stated very confusing. I don't recommend this professor.
he is not bad. just come to class and pay attention. he puts up the slides. study them to pass the exams. exams are not hard just study. not a class you will love but its good.
he has a different method of teaching which is boring but good. explains really well. exams are not hard. just pay attention in class. he is willing to work with students to make sure everyone understands the material. he gives lots of point on the exams which is basically a curve.
EASY professor, just go to class and take notes. he makes sure you understand the material. read the book and the notes to ace the exams. tries to explain stuff clearly. exams are curved. Much less work compared to other mgt classes.
Decent professor, does his best to explain the material. exams are fair and require a bit of studying, not hard. speaks with an accent. attendance is required. keeps the class interested in the material which can be boring at times. much easier than other proff. grade is curved at the end. take him to avoid lowering your gpa.
not a bad professor. just the accent is a little heavy. explains clear and slow. dont be late. exams are fair and he covers all the material in class. few easy homeworks. took sphicas and failed, recived an A- in this class. easier than most professors, just put in some effort.
I was rather disappointed by his first classes. the class is not organized. the teaching is very slow and he is always wasting time. this class is not optimal at all.
You will not learn anything from his class. He doesn't explain much, but is very concerned with the attendance. Though he seems like a nice guy and curves the grades.
Attendance a must. 1 free abs. Arrive 5 mins early & you're on time-Automatic B. Come prepared as his reading assignments are lengthy. Ask smart questions. He gives pts if you can convince him that a question on the exam wasn't clear. His message is clear:Understand what's in front of you or ask questions-Concept! Very smart & funny old man. Liked!
rules, rules and more rules. Nobody should register for this class.
I think prof. Loomba wastes a lot of time in useless stuff. Hard exams and yes, many rules. Dont be late. Dont talk. Dont even think about using ur cellphone.
Really bad professor, will make you learn the subject as if it was your major, doesn't answer questions because "you are supposed to know this already" takes attendance in the first 5 minutes of class, if you are late you are absent, 3 absences (late) and you're out, extremely hard and meticulous exams, quizzes and homeworks almost every week
One of the most annoying teachers in Baruch. Makes you attend class, makes a big deal if you use your phone in class and also posts pages and pages of useless notes that you must read and understand for his exam.. I wouldn't recommend
Professor Loomba is crazy with attendance. Don't take Loomba, because his notes are long and barely make sense. You have to learn this like this is your major. Also, no idea what his grading policy is anymore, and his exams/quizzes are ridiculously complicated. Do not take this guy. Don't.
Worst professor I've ever had in my entire school career. A lot of notes on blackboard that you must understand, and it's almost incomprehensible. Exams are extremely conceptual. Even the calculations aren't just basic plug-in formulas. He gives you numbers, answers, and questions in a format much more complicated than need be.
BAD PROFESSOR! Exams are extremely difficult, that's why he lets you bring any and all notes on index cards to class. The lectures wont help you for the exam. Also, group homework assignments are the worst. You will have people that wont do anything, and Loomba wont do anything. He always says he has so many degrees, but in reality, hes nothing.
This professor is full of himself. Supposedly he's been teaching for his whole life but probably no one cares about it. I mean he's mean and tricky. He's rigid more precisely. Avoid or drop it later.
The easiest professor in Baruch!!! If you follow his rules you will easily get a good grade. Exams are hard but he curves at the end. Easiest management class!!!!
WORST MANAGEMENT PROFESSOR AT BARUCH. It's unbelievable that the Department of Management is now named after him because he donated money. He is not a good professor & is extremely boring. He will call on you in class if you show any effort. Be prepared to know the material if you want to show interest in the class, or he will make you look stupid.
Expects you to know his lecture notes that are longer than the chapter itself. Makes mistakes on every test. I only went to get the attendance grade which hopefully will help. Do not take I cant imagine anybody in my class doing well.
Good Professor. Don't mind the bad comments. His lectures are really easy and his notes are long. If you thoroughly read and understand his handouts most of it is a lot of repetitive material. Get to know him! Thats it. Proctor for every test.
If i could give a negative rating I would!!! Total GPA killer. If you're late you're absent! Takes points off your grade! He assigns readings longer than the chapters! Still not sure how he averaged out grades. Class average for midterm was 16/24 AFTER curve. AVOID at all costs. Oh and you learn nothing from his class.
Wow. Literally the worst professor I've had at Baruch. He's so hard for NOOOO reason. He's tenured so he's very rigid in his ways. His "notes" are longer than the textbook itself and more challenging. If you're gonna be a minute late, you might as well not come because you're absent. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take this class. I wish I didn't.
I admire his passion and enthusiasm, but not so great as a teacher. You have to work extremely hard on your own. He does give you life lessons that are great. Read before you go to class and be well prepared because if he picks you out of the list to ask questions and you don’t know the answers you are doomed. DON'T BE LATE TO CLASS NOT EVEN A SEC
This class is borderline impossible to do well on your own. With that said become friends with the professor. Read his notes and ask plenty of questions in his class and he will like you. Get to class before it starts. 1 min late is absent. 25% participation/attendance. Try to find a friend that took his class in the past and still has the tests.
Literally the worst professor I've ever had in all of my academic career. If you're late for class it counts as an absence... he rarely teaches anything in class, so you better be prepared to scope the textbook multiple times. Hes extremely analysis towards detail and will take off points for not doing things in the exact format that he wants
Horrible. I WOULD NOT recommend him. He doesn't give clear lectures. You can use index cards on the exam, but it's not like it helps.
I usually do not rate professors, but I had to for this guy. The worse professor ever. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Don't used your phone in the class (he will deduct 40 point from your grade) and always be on time you will be fined. I got an A- for the course and I didn't study at all. Just use your Flashcard, the class is a joke
Worst Professor ever... To old to teach, not willing to help. Final exam extremely hard. no1 was able to finish even with the +20 minutes.
The worst professor ever. I saw bad reviews from this site but still took the class thinking there might be something, at least a little bit of good thing about this class but there wasn't. Luckly he is taking a semester off this fall semester.
Just study the necessary, don't ever come late or miss a class, and bring your index cards to the exams, and you should be fine. I got a 0 for 3 weekly quizzes, for the final I guessed(most of them weren't correct) like 20 out of 25 Q and I never missed a class and I still ended up with an A-.
Just show up to class on time, and for that alone, the worst you will get is a C in his class. Do note cards during class to kill two birds with one stone.
Nice class, he provides additional lecture notes that is much longer, but they really help you understand material. Don't be late even for 3 minutes, he will mark you absent. Attendance is mandatory. He gave 4 quizzes, to get credit just make note cards for every single lecture. His final is hard, a lot of calculation, but he curves. Good one!!!
Fair grader will work with you but for his test don't pay attention to a thing he says read the entire book and all of his 300+ pages of notes only way to pass is to be better then everyone else in the class. DO NOT take this professor if you don't plan on going to every class and reading every word in management textbook and notes
Don't skipped class and no cell phone. A lot of reading. Each chapter have about 20 pages. Read the chapter again and again until you understand. Be prepared before class because he will asked questions if nobody said anything. 2 exams and quizzes
Had an A on his class even though I've flunked most if not all, of his exams. Show up to class every day, arrive 30 minutes early to class, stay out of his radar, and you will do fine. With that being said, he grades based on class performance, so you better hope that everyone is doing as bad as you are. Class has a lot of confusing math in it.
First TWO CLASSES were HORRIBLE!. if you dont follow specific directions he will put you on his ''BRING DOWN ONE GRADE POINT'' list! so follow specific directions and liten to everything he says. when he ask you questions makesure it is written down on INDEX CARDS, CANT READ YOUR NOTES. HE WILL YELL AT YOU. HORRIBLE PROFESSOR.
Prof. Loomba is a good person. However, his class doesn't reflect who he is. To do well in his class, you need to read his notes 100% and you prob won't do well on the exams even then. YOU MUST show up to every class and his before class tutoring to do well. Failed every test but showed up and participated and got a B+. Avoid if you can.
A real professor who teaches us passionately. He is very serious about learning and that is what Baruch needs more! Very understanding and caring for us. I consider myself lucky to have met him and an honor to be taught from him! He is caring knowledgeable and an amazing lecturer, do take him if he still will teach it will be a memorable experience
The most awful professor I've ever had in my life. His lectures are hard to understand and his blackboard notes are all disorganized and nonsense. He marks you absent if you're 5 minutes late, take points from you if don't answer his questions and he can be quite unreasonable. Avoid the trouble and DON'T take him.
Curves heavy apparently. LOTS OF MATERIAL. Copying on index card does help. But it gets heavy in the end so by the last couple of chap just know it and write formulas. Stats all over again. Popquizzes, 2 midterm, 1 group case study. Extra credit but meh. SHOW UP TO CLASS. Free points. Material is HEAVY&time consuming.
Super tough professor. Expects you to prioritize his class over your own life. Dont take if youre not a operations management major. He picks his favorites early. Alienates the students who dont read/ who answer questions wrong. Lots of extra credit opportunities & curve. Lets you use unlmtd index cards on tests & quizzes. Tough class, Toughguy
Disgustingly bad professor. Preaches nonsense every class, you won't have any idea what he is talking about. Makes fun of those who don't know the answers to his questions which don't make sense. For example "Illuminate p-hat". That is his question. The correct answer, to him, is a three hundred word response. Do not take him.
Professor Loomba really does care about his students and tries hard to push them to do well. However, I would not recommend taking his class if you don't want to do a ton of work on your own. You must read his personal lecture notes over and over again to understand the concepts (they are very long). Don't take unless you want to study for hours.
In all honesty, if you can, avoid him. His lecture notes are really long and he expects you to know everything, if you don't, he makes fun of you in front of the entire class. However, he is very enthusiastic about the material he teaches, and you can see that he know his stuff. Fair grader to some student, good person, but not the best professor.
The textbook material is actually pretty simple, but he makes his own notes that over complicate the topic to stroke his ego. Professor Loomba. His quizzes are the worst i've ever seen, so specific for no reason. If you aren't there when the class starts even if you come later it counts as absence, which neg. affects grade. Avoid if possible
He's a nice guy but he expects his students to just focus on his class. If you want to do relatively well in his class literally copy his slides on index cards, be on time to class, participate, do what he asks you to do and don't argue with him even if you're right.
The professor makes this class more complicated than it'd be. Confusing notes Lectures are not organized. Do Not allow using electric devices during class otherwise you will have penalties. A lot of class policies. Quiz every week which questions are not related to the answers. Index cards allowed, but you can't find answers. Stressful STAY AWAY!!
For the sake of your grade & sanity, avoid this professor! He makes class more difficult than it should be. He makes you read his 20+pg notes & expects you to read the notes multiple times along with the textbook chapter. Textbook is not necessary. His grading is really poor. Expect to receive someone else's grade as he makes many grading errors.
I dont take his class, but why rating so low :(. so many bad mgt 3121 professors. i want to cry.
You can do nothing about this professor because he is the head of the department. The only thing you can do is to stay away from him. He is highly mean and rude. I did not learn anything and honestly, I would not take him again. Good luck guys.
Quiz every week which is open book and are based on his notes. His exams are also open book but are very specific. Get ready to write his notes in small index cards.
i'm hoping this gets published i had a course with this guy about 45 years ago as a professor in the management department i honestly dont recall a thing about him except his name, which caught my eye
I normally don't rate professors, but all I have to tell you is to stay away from this guy. He is one of the worse Prof. I have ever seen in my entire academics career.
