I cannot stress how much I love this teacher! Lectures are straight forward, and if you read the textbook on the material she covered in class, the exam will be a breeze! She also gives a study exam before the exam, so that's also really good! She is always there to help, and is willing to set a time to meet and discuss about class or psychology.
There is: (1) In class work, (2) Homework, (3) Tests/Quizes, (4) Lecture + Book + Power Point Slides. She's cool and will be available to help if you need it. Had to drop the class for personal reasons, not becuase the class was hard.
Before this semester, I had never taken a psych class before; I pulled through Professor Dautovich's class with a very high A. Clear course expectations, detailed powerpoints, and her genuine passion for psychology made the subject easy to learn. Very caring woman, knew most every student who approached her by name. Absolutely recommend.
I absolutely love Dr. Dautovich! She's an amazing professor and very personable. She helps out students, answers any questions you may have, and responds to emails very quickly. She makes the lectures fun and participation does matter in this class. She makes study guides before every exam and you have 3 mandatory exams and the fourth is optional.
Natalie is so sweet! She is really there for you whenever you need her, just shoot her an email. She posts all her lectures online, but I would still go to class to get the participation points. You get 4 short essays and you only have to take 3 out of 4 tests; she takes the highest grades. Study for the tests, do Launchpad, do SONA, you'll pass.
I really love professor Dautovich. She cares about her students. Her lectures are straight forward. You do not have to come to class to pass but she gives participation assignments, but she makes it interesting so you will want to go anyway. I enjoyed this class a lot. TAKE HER!!
Launch Pad assignments were annoying but class was fairly easy. Short essays are extremely short and graded leniently, she drops an exam grade and a couple launch pads. Powerpoints are on blackboard, you just need to do launch pads and study the powerpoints to get a good grade on the exams, which are really easy. The material was interesting.
Dr. Dautovich was so great!! She was always super clear about what was expected, and really sweet about any questions asked during lecture.
Natalie made this class very interesting despite some of the concepts being hard to wrap my mind around. Exams are difficult if you don't study. I 100% recommend actually going to class to get a better understanding of the material. DO NOT BUY THE PHYSICAL BOOK, just the LaunchPad access code. She's so sweet and helpful. Her dogs are cute too!
Dr. Dautovich is amazing. She truly cares for students' education and well- being and wants everyone to succeed. I have never had such a patient professor. For psyc101 do the online modules ahead of time and they help with understanding test materials.
Super nice and caring
Posts ppts online. Really lenient on nearly everything if you phrase your problem right (I wasn't her b/c... I don't think we should do the Launchpad b/c...). She's really easy to get to know. If you want a recommendation letter from a prof, she's the easiest one to get it from in a large (300+ person) class.
She's so nice and adorable and gives interesting lectures. She includes videos and sometimes uses her dogs as examples. (: I didn't use the textbook much, but it could be helpful to some. She posts her slides on Blackboard to study, but go to class for more detail and participation points. Do SONA studies early- don't wait 'till the last minute.
She's super approachable and friendly. Her tests are so easy, our class did far better than any other professor, she said. She posts power points online so you don't even have to show up
Dr.D is the type of professor that you wish you had in every class. She's extremely kind and actually cares about you as an individual. Her lectures are interesting and she often uses her dogs as examples. She's willing to meet with you outside of office hours if you can't make those times. And I'm pretty sure she stepped out of a J. Crew ad. 10/10
So nice & her class is so easy. Makes it so a certain number of points(900) equals an A so you can figure out clearly what to do to raise your grade. She counts attendance through clicker points but you can still get an A if you don't go because the homework, labs, and tests can get you to the 900 you need. Also assigns papers but grades so easily.
I loved taking Dr. Dautovich's Psychology 101 class. She is rather funny and her class has a relaxed environment. If you come to class and take notes, you can pass her class. She is accessible and kind. She is a gem!
Don't buy the book, just launchpad!! Do SONA, launchpad quizzes, go to class for clicker points and take notes, study for tests, and you'll pass.
Natalie is an ANGEL and would never hurt a fly. Take her class! It's fairly easy, she has clicker questions for in-class credit, weekly online labs (which are lowkey kinda tricky but aren't too bad), and overall, wants all of her students to succeed. If I could take her again I would!
Most of the grades consists on online lab homework and classwork. You won't have to get the textbook, but go to class to get credit. She's a very nice professor who's willing to listen if you have any issues even though she teaches large lectures. 3 exams with no cumulative final.
Great class, great prof. She offers a lot of extra credit and exams are relatively easy if you study. She cares a lot of about how the students are doing and will help you if you're not understanding something. 10/10 recommend!!
I LOVED HER!! she's super sweet and easy to understand. She gives tons of extra credit! her grades consist of online labs and tests. Both are pretty easy. The tests can be a little tough if you don't completely understand the material and are able to apply it but thats not her fault. The only reason I didn't get an A is because of one test
By far the easiest class I've ever taken!! Professor Dautovich truly cares for her students and wants them to succeed. She offers A TON of extra credit and her class consisted of 3 exams, which weren't cumulative. You don't need the textbook, just do the launchpads & SONAs and go to class for clicker points.
I took Dr.D's Psyc 101 class, and when I saw her teaching 412 I jumped on the opportunity to have this professor again. She is amazing, the course is a "hybrid" so you meet in class for like a month then the rest of the class is online but she gives you one assignment per week. Amazing professor! Only problem is I wanted to see her more.
SWEETEST LADY EVER. SO smart and helpful!! 10/10 reccomend and she DESERVES TENURE. (I need her again!)Also, she has extra credit opportunities!! the only thing i didnt like about the class was the online launchpad quizzes(had nothing to do with her). The videos and lessons were great; but the quizzes themselves were wrong, had typos, and just bad.
She is SO SWEET! I loved her. I took the hybrid class so we met for the first month and a half in class and then the rest of the assignments were online (except for the tests) Online assignments were watching videos or lectures/read articles and take a short quiz on them, and that's it! Study guides are exactly whats on the test!
An amazing teacher who is truly passionate about her students. She offers lots of extra credit and always open to listen to the concerns of the students. Only three exams, no final, but make sure to do your work and you can succeed.
Amazing professor. Is willing to stop the lecture & answer any questions, even the apparent ones. Cares for her students, and offers plenty extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. I LOVED going to Psych class. Very interesting, & she gives good examples for better understanding. Overall my favorite professor for the semester.
WONDERFULLLLLL absolutely love her. She's a great professor. Class isn't hard just make sure you stay on top of your work and you're golden. Also don't skip, like you can if you ABSOLUTELY have to but don't. That's the main reason why I didn't get that high of a grade. She also usually ends class early so just go. She's great.
This course isn't an easy A but if you stay on top of your work and GO TO CLASS (srsly don't skip) you should be fine. The work load is pretty heavy and you have to take detailed notes along with doing the online quizzes in order to be prepared for the exams. She is super helpful and the sweetest person ever, 10/10 would recommend.
She's really sweet an dis always willing to help. I stopped showing up to most of the classes near the end of the semester because psych really does not interest me. The curriculum is fairly easy and she gives a lot of extra credit. If I worked just a little harder, I could have gotten an A. But I didn't really try, so my fault.
Dr. D is the sweetest! She is such a great lecturer, very entertaining, incorporating more than just lecture slides to understand concepts (we watched scenes from The Office to understand conditioning!) Study guides posted on BB, if you make notecards on the powerpoints and pay attention in class you WILL get an A. It is up to you
Literally one of the nicest professors I've had. Her class is really straight forward, interesting material, and she very obviously cares about students and their wellbeing. This class is a gem!
Dr. D was my favorite professor. She really cares about her students and gives lots of extra credit. She also teaches you things that benefit you outside the classroom, like how to get proper sleep and maintain your emotional health. Her lectures were interesting and she's super funny. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone.
Dautovich truly seems like she cares about what she's teaching. I enjoyed her lectures! No final, just three non-cumulative exams. There's an online lab due every week. It's expensive but she recommended getting the free trial and knocking all the labs out during the trial. Tophat was used as well. Overall a great 101 class.
Professor Dautovich is one of the most caring and clear professors I have ever had! Everything you do outside of the lecture is to help you understand the material; no busy work. She made Psychology super enjoyable and the class is not hard if you take notes and listen to her examples. A few exams, weekly online assignments, SONA studies, no final.
All three tests make up 66% of your grade. Really easy class, you almost forget about it sometimes. Go to class because the tophat participation adds up in the end and take the launchpad seriously because they're easy points and a few aren't all online so you have to actually read the textbook for them. If you miss a day she is very considerate!
PSYC101 has a lot of work in it for any professor you take- PackBack and online quizzes every week, and the 7 credits for SONA Labs go for all the classes. Prof. D is really good at explaining psych and she has a lot of interesting examples. There are only 3 exams-no final. If you fill out the study guide you'll get a good grade.
I am an art major (so I suck at science) and I have never taken a psych class before. I am so thankful I got Dr. D!!! She is the most caring professor who actually wants you to do well. Tests are no surprise and SUPER straight forward - All multiple choice and they always have a few bonus questions at the end. I am a horrible test taker btw. LOVE<3
TAKE PSYCH WITH HER! She is so sweet and will always try and accommodate you if you ever are having problems as long as you communicate with her ahead of time! Her tests aren't hard, just look over your notes and the study guide she gives. If you really want to boost your test grade, skim the textbook (it's actually a really cool book).
Professor Dautovich was such a sweetheart. She's a new mom so her maternal instincts are right on. No attendance recorded. No essays, just Packback questions. Launchpad helps you learn. Tests are straightforward. She likes to make cute little examples out of her dogs! She wants you to get an A as much as you want to get an A, no lie. Take her!!
The absolute sweetest professor ever. She wants you to pass by any means necessary and really cares. Lectures are nice and fun and she even ends class early just because. She makes good examples out of her dogs and even includes youtube videos. Class activities are super easy and exams werent that hard with some studying. If you can, TAKE HER!!!
shes great
SUPERRRR nice!! During COVID she didn't want to add more stress (her exact words). Her Lectures are interesting and makes it easy to understand. I am so glad I took her class.
She was a wonderful professor, very approachable and always smiling. S.I sessions and tutoring were also helpful in keeping up with the material. She is really good at explaining things and will tell you how to do well.
An amazing and considerate professor that has been extremely accommodating to all of her students during the pandemic. Her class is very easy to follow and she sends out reminders every week. The only downside is her study guides are not very helpful. You absolutely need the textbook for the exams, at least for the online class. Take her class.
One of the sweetest professors I've had. She's very understanding about late work and sometimes extends your deadlines. Exams are really easy, just take notes from her lectures. Exams are open-note and open for a whole week. This was one of my easiest classes this semester. Only downside is you have to buy a membership for packback.
Natalie is awesome, I want her to be my therapist. Her class was so organized and even though it was more work than some of my other classes it was almost never stressful. Just watch the lectures and take notes, do sona things right when they are uploaded, and keep up on weekly packbacks and launchpad quizzes, she lets u make up packbacks too
I took Dr. D for PSYC101 so I knew I had to take her class for PSYC412. I would recommend this course to anyone going into the health field. The material is super interesting and easy to follow. I didn't really need the textbook and the tests/assignments weren't hard either. Overall she's very flexible and accommodating :) easy A if you do the work
Hello fellow student, if you are looking up every professor's name on rate my professor, my recommendation is to stop wasting your time and to TAKE HER if you can. 100/10. Loved her!! super nice, VERY accomodating and understanding. Her videos are short and straight to the point and she gives great examples to make u understand better.
She is a very caring teacher especially with COVID. She gives extra credit and her exams are easy if you study and go through the lectures.
Such a sweet lady. She took into consideration that we are all struggling and was so nice. Many extra credit opportunities , and if you are ever struggling she is more then willing to help. As long as you do the study guides you will pass the exams 10/10 she's so sweet.
Favorite professor Ive ever had. Cares about her students mental health and is very understanding with COVID. Very knowledgeable in psychology and lectures are very interesting. Such a sweet lady and an easy A.
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!!! I took her Intro to Psychology online and it was so interesting. She truly cares and looks out for her students. Work wise, it was very manageable. As long as you take notes and go to classes (or watch the lectures if fully online), you will get an A.
All I gotta say is shes AMAZING
Dautovich is by far my favorite professor of the semester. Due to Covid, her class is asynchronous but she is very accessible and easy to talk to. Her lectures are very easy to follow and they have 2-3 question quizzes or a short response assignment due. Grade is very heavy on online labs and discussion boards but it's nothing hard.
A bunch of people in my class wrote one big thank you doc to her so here was mine: You have been one of the most gracious teachers Ive ever had. Not only do you teach human psychology but you understand it and are willing to apply it to help us as students. We really appreciate all youve done for us, and the impact youve made on such large class
She is the most sweetest and caring person ever. It was asynchronous but you can tell how much she cares about her students. Every week it was the same, packback, watch lecture, and launchpad (you could finish these in a day). We also had to participate in SONA surveys. Her exams are pretty easy if you just take notes.
I love her!! Take her if you can!! I loved her class because it was such an easy A and she was very understanding during midterms and finals and just ALL THE TIME!!! really helped me unload a lot of stress. You can even turn in late work which is soooo amazing.
Dr. Dautovich is really an amazing choice for PSYC101. I'm not a psych major and just needed credit but Dr. Dautovich made it interesting and worthwhile. She really cares about her students, giving us breaks during stressful periods of time and waiving low scores. Her lectures are very relaxing and engaging. There is a lot of weekly assignments
She is great and I really enjoy her class.
Take her shes the best professor I ever met a VCU.
Great professor! The class was also very interesting, and furthered my interest in psychology. Lectures weren't too long, but there were lots of reading notes. Very clear deadlines in the syllabus. Only issue was that the response time to emails were very long. But overall- an amazing learning experience!
I honestly loved Dr. Dautovich's class. It is a very easy course if you just put in the effort and do the work. She is very kind and lenient on deadlines but I recommend working accordingly just so you don't get behind. Her lectures were really good and fun to watch. She's great!
She is so sweet and her lectures are really interesting even tho im not a psychology major she made it interesting. Definitely take her!!
One of the best Professors at VCU. I always looked forward to this class because of her kind and motivational announcements. The assignments are easy, as long as you're engaging with the material. Honestly, she is a sweet human being, who I wish I had the chance to meet in person.
The sweetest professor I have ever had at VCU! Please take her, you'll love her! She always gives us extra credit and is always there if you need help with anything or need additional time with deadlines. I love how flexible the class was and I would absolutely take her again!
Dautovich is so sweet, and she is such an awesome lecturer. She simplifies everything and makes you enjoy her class. Exams are based on study guides and applications of concepts, and study guides can be filled out by following through her lectures. I never felt like I didn't understand. Definitely take her for PSYC 101 if you get the chance!!
Dr. Dautovich is hands down the nicest and sweetest professor I've ever had! I took PSYC101 online - lectures were very clear, weekly launchpad modules + packbacks. She's very flexible and willing to work with you, she really cares. Do the study guides and you'll ace all the exams
This is by far my easiest class this semester. She makes it so simple to do her work! There's no way you can fail unless you just don't do anything. She offers extra credit where she can and even takes off a fair amount of assignments. Overall, she's a really sweet lady.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! the best Ive taken at VCU. she really cares about her students and understands how stressful being a student can be. shes very understanding and easy to work with.
Please take her, she's literally the nicest most caring professor I've had in my 3 years at VCU. I had to take this course just for my requirements and it's an easy A. Just listen to her lectures and take notes and you'll be fine. Her dogs are super cute too.
Of course take her, but so many lectures my man! As you go through the lectures on 2x speed, take notes directly in the study guide. TBH, I would spend 4-5 hours watching through all the lectures right before taking the exam (I was virtual asynch FYI). I disliked the packback HW and launchpad quizzes but she was so flexible and dropped 3 of each.
Very understanding and drops your 3 lowest quiz grades. Take notes on her lectures and you'll pass. The macmillian labs were annoying to do. Takes a long time to respond to emails. She usually posts lectures on Tuesday and due Friday at 11:59pm
Had her online, still would probably one of my favorite professor's at VCU. Extremely understanding and lenient. Cares about students mental health and well-being, wants all to succeed and provides many opportunities to do so. Classwork is heavy but manageable and straightforward.
The most excellent human ever to walk this earth. I wish she were my professor for all my classes.
This class was asynchronous and each week Dr.D uploads some video lectures and then you have to do a discussion post. Its very easy to keep up with the work, however she also reuses her video lectures from 2020 and the textbook and discussion posts cost $130.
Professor Dautovich is a real gem. She's one of those teachers that is everybody's favorite because she is such a great person. If you need anything she is teaching, take her. I've taken her twice and would choose her again over any other teacher every time.
The kindest professor ever! She made the lectures interesting and offered lots of extra credit throughout the semester. The only assignments were Packbacks and three tests. If you watch the lectures, the tests should be a breeze because Prof Dautovich clearly explains the material.
I loved Dr. Dautovich's class. One online lecture, one quiz, and one discussion per week. Very easy A if you follow the lectures and do the study guides simultaneously. Her voice is very calming, she is very sweet and the work is simple - ABSOLUTELY take Psych101 with Dr. Dautovich!!
Professor Dautovich is absolutely amazing! She clearly cares SO much about all of her students. There are a lot of components to psyc 101, but she does a great job at breaking them down. With open note exams, as long as you finish all the assignments the class is a fairly easy A. However, the needed Achieve and Packback software do cost a lot.
almost all assignments are graded online. uses the textbook every week, and has about 5-10 assignments due every week on top of a pack discussion, but they're all pretty easy. overall is easy and would recommend.
100/100!! super easy and laid back class
Very easy class expected for it to be hard but it wasn't at all!!!!! She's also very nice!
I loved Dr. Dautovich! One of the sweetest and most caring instructors I've had. There are weekly assignments due every Friday. Usually lecture videos with some questions to go along with it, a chapter reading quiz, and a packback. Four exams as well. The canvas page was very organized too. One the easiest and most interesting classes I've taken!
SO understanding. I missed a test (100% my fault) and she reopened it for me to take. Her lectures are slow-paced and very clear. She is very responsive to emails and just all around a really nice person. A good bit of extra credit (20 pts for the course I took). She provides the textbook readings. She also gives test study guides that are helpful.
Lots of opportunities to raise your grade, lots of small assignments every week. Really easy class if you pay attention to her lectures (which are great and extremely helpful). Super nice teacher that's willing to help you get the best grade you can get.
Very fun and easy class
She was extremely kind and understanding, gives extra time if needed. Course very clearly outlined, a few assignments weekly but never anything crazy. Definitely shouldn't receive anything less than a B in this class unless you're doing absolutely none of the work in canvas
She is a very caring and understanding person. The tests are open notes and timed. The class is simple overall with only 1 assignment and quiz due at the end of every week. It is pretty simple to get an A in this class as long as you do your work and study for the tests. I highly recommend taking her online class!!
Very understanding and flexible. Lectures were fun and her voice is very relaxing. As long as you read the textbook you will do great on the weekly quizzes. discussion board posts are graded based on "curiosity" points. There are three tests throughout the semester and no final. She is very sweet and passionate about psychology.
Very caring professor. She truly wants her students to succeed and offers extensions on assignments ect. Only three exams which are open note so make sure to take good notes from her lecture videos which are not hard to follow. This course is not difficult and you can finish this class with an A if you complete all the assignments and packback.
I took her for an online asynch class so I really only saw lecture videos posted by her. Those lecture videos did teach a lot though and definitely helped for the quizzes and tests. I was able to passively listen to her and I feel like I actually learned stuff in this course when I expected not to.
This class was very straightforward. If you stay on top of the work and put in the effort, you'll definitely earn a high grade. The professor was fair, and everything was clearly laid out. No complaints at all!
Dr. Dautovich is an absolute gem of a professor. This is my 2nd time taking a class with her and I loved it! Canvas page is very organized. Weekly assignments due every Friday. Usually lecture videos with some questions to go along with it, some quizzes, and a packback. Three open note exams as well. Please, please, PLEASE take her!!
I loved this class for introducing me to psychology. She has amazing lectures that keep you engaged, and she is very kind and understanding. Two separate programs are used for readings and discussions; it's about $45; help through VCU is offered if you can not afford it.
I love this woman, I wish I had class with her in person though. She seems so cute and sweet in the lecture videos. It seems like a lot of homework, but it's given on a weekly basis. Class was an easy A though especially it being online.
Dr. Dautovich is so sweet. She's very lenient and understanding so if you don't have time to complete an assignment, you can turn it in up to two weeks late for extra credit.
great professor
