She's great! I've had her for Composition 1 and now i have her for world literature. She's very nice and she doesn't grade hard. She just looks for your opinion and that you understand the material in your writing. I give her two thumbs up.
Gaupp is an awesome teacher!!!! If you have the opportunity to take her take it. There is not that much reading and she makes the class interesting.
Natalie is one of the best professors I have ever had. As long as you go to class, you will pass.
attendence is big for her. just show up on time, and its no biggie. if you pay attention, you'll catch her sarcasm. she's funny and very nice and a thorough expainer, a little monotonous, but its an easy class.
She really is one of the BEST professors at UTA.

Need to be more like her here.
She's awesome
She made her expectations clear for exams and papers. She was even willing to answer questions about the written assignments before they were due. This was a very enjoyable class. Take her if you get the class.
This class is designed to be easy. Just enjoy it and try to gain an appreciation for the films shown. Attendance is mandatory, as there's a sign in sheet. There's one paper for the entire class, which is about six or seven pages in length. It's a critique of a movie or play of your choosing, so it isn't that hard to do.
Professor Gaupp is a great professor. She's helpful and really passionate about theatre/film, I'd absolutely recommend taking this class. It's easy, but attendance is required because she passes around an attendance sheet.
Attendance is required; no more than 3 the semester before it affects your grade. After the two-three weeks, you'll be watching films for the rest of the semester with a lecture class before you start the movies. You don't have to take notes, she gives a review sheet just like the tests. You'll have to write one paper. It's an easy A.
I took Gaupp's class as a Fine Arts credit, hearing this class was super easy and that I would ace it (I did, and if you don't, quit college). All you do is watch moviesplays, take three tests (not cumulative) and write a movie critique (on ANYTHING). She's super passionate. Just don't take her class at 8 am.
Great teacher!!! She is very kind and you get to watch movies
I am an Engineering major and I have to take a fine art. I decided to take Theater Appreciation with Ms. Gaupp and it has been the EASIEST CLASS!!! I have ever taken. For exams she gives you a fact sheet with 50 true statements. The statements are in order of how they will show up on the multiple choice test. You study that you pass! Don't buybooks
Anyone who gives her less than 5s on anything obviously just didn't study. She literally gives you the answers to the tests. She is hilarious, helpful, and the easiest professor i have ever had! i love her as a professor and as a person! if you need an A take this class, you don't even need to work for the A! love her!
you would have to try really hard to fail this class. she gives you test reviews which are basically the tests. you do have to write a movie review, but she gives you the entire semester to write it and it's not hard. attendance is required but you can literally show up and sleep the entire class and she won't care.
she's awesome! loved her class! very easy to pass although you have to come to class otherwise she will give you a B....
The class was a breeze! Easiest class at UTA. You watch movies and take exams, which are exactly like the review. She is hilarious and sweet, I really enjoyed her lectures as well. Dr. Gaupp is one of the most caring professors and she is very clear with her expectations. Anyone who gives her anything below a 5 didn't try hard enough.
She is super nice and cares about her classes. Tests can be long but if you look over the study guides you pass easily. She is a great teacher who loves what she does.
probs the easiest class at UTA. it's definitely a gpa booster. 4 tests (including final), but she literally hands the answers to you on a platter: first test was 50Q, true/false and she gave us the 50 facts for the test. this professor is super nice, passionate about film, and genuinely cares about helping students succeed. take if you're CAP :)
Down side is that there is a paper you have to write. Reviews like the test. The paper is easy just long
Nicest professor
Super passionate and emotional about theatre. Paper is long but easy. Tests are super easy just go over the reviews. You have to sign in every class. Don't use technology when watching a movie. One class period is a required easy group project. Really nice person.
She is one of the best Professors here at UTA. She goes on and on about things but this is one of the easiest classes you'll ever take.
Dr. Gaupp is very passionate about the arts of theatre and it is very noticeable during lecture. For this class, the only thing is mandatory is attendance. 3 tests which she gives you a study guide that is basically the answers, and 1 page essay that you can do anytime in the semester.
Highly recommend her for theater appreciation. Easy class to get your fine arts credit. NIce and cares about her student. Only 3 tests and she gives you a review sheet for each test, study that and you will make an A. There's one essay but it is very easy to do, it is over any movie of your choice.
Dr. Gaupp's class is a GPA booster. She does have an attendance policy, which is the hardest part of the class. There are 3 tests with a completed review guide for each. The reviews are just like the test. There is also a film critique you have to write, but it is essentially completion. I would definitely recommend taking if you need fine arts
Dr. Gaupp has an obvious passion for playwriting and it very much shows in her teaching. She is hilarious, knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and inspiring. No homework, only three take-home written exams. I wish I could take more classes with her! Attendance is required, miss more than 3 classes and you drop a letter grade, but she will work with you!
Very easy class. Attendance is Mandatory, so wouldn't suggest taking her at 8am. She gives you a review for the tests that literally, word for word is the test. There was 2 tests, 1 final and a 4 page essay that is required. You have all semester to work on this essay. You can sleep in her class and she doesn't care! Definitely suggest her!
Mrs. Gaupp is a great teacher. She truly loves what she does and you can definitely sense it. Attendance in mandatory, since it is a 3-hour course once a week. She assigns a theatre critique essay at the beginning of the semester, which has to be 4 full pages and over a film/play that you watched. Overall, a pretty easy creative arts course.
Read the reviews & decided to take her for my FA credit. Extremely easy class, only grades are the exams, the final exam, and a 4 page long film critique on any film of your choosing. The tests were very easy to study for. I literally studied about 2 hours total for the final exam and feel I got a at least a B on it(Grades haven't posted yet).
Dr. Gaupp is easily my favorite professor I've had at UTA so far. At first I didn't think I would like having her class for 3 hours at a time, but the fact that she gives you all of the info so you don't even need to take notes helped a lot. The only assignments are 4 tests she literally gives the answers to and a super easy film/play critique.
This class is definitely a give me!! Show up, watch a movie, do the review she gives which has all the answers to the test, memorize those answers, easy 100! Nice lady! One easy paper she gives you about a semester you could do!!
There shouldn't even be a difficulty scale for this class. If you get anything less than an A then you're doing something wrong. The reviews for the three tests are the exact same as the test just mixed around. One critic essay due about a movie which is probably the easiest essay I have written in college.
Dr. Gaupp is an amazing professor! I signed up for this class because I wanted to add an enjoyable 3 credit hours to my GPA. I had know idea how much I would learn! Dr. Gaupp is truly passionate about theatre, and her enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you Dr. Gaupp for doing what you love.
Dr. Gaupp is one of the easiest professors I have ever had. All you have to do is show up to class to maintain an A. She does have 3 quizzes, 1 final, and 1 paper. The 3 quizzes she gives you reviews for with the EXACT questions on there. The paper is just a movie critique... You watch a movie and basically write down what you thought. Super EASY A
I have never met a professor/teacher as dedicated and in love with her subject as she is. Super sweet and always willing to help. Her tests are CRAZY easy. Participation is very important to her. All the movies are great & she points out the importance parts for tests. Love her!
Gaupp is a great teacher with a lot of passion. I took theatre and film appreciation because it's an easy class that everyone has to take. By the end of the semester, I actually gained a new love for film and theatre that I hadn't had before. For tests, around 3-4 days before the test, she'll give a review w the exact questions and answers on it.
Dr. Gaupp is the best!! Honestly, out of all the professors for film and appreciation, she's my favorite!! She doesn't force you to do silly group projects or force you to act in front of the class! That's nice if your really shy and just want the credit! You don't have to waste your money to buy books and such cause SHE DOES THE NOTES for us!!
Every 2 classes missed drops grade by a letter. Easy to pass, the review is the test. Lectures are exceedingly boring, she describes it herself as "rambling."
To be honest, I really enjoyed taking Dr Gaupp's class this semester. Yeah attendance is mandatory, but it's a college class, it should be expected in my opinion. Lectures can be boring at times, however she tries her best to make it interesting. The class is an easy A if you study the reviews she posts. Also very passionate about Theatre(good way)
You will not have a class like this ever again in your college experience. Basically all we do is just watch movies. Her reviews are the EXACT same as her tests. She talks about the interesting facts of the movies we watch in a way giving us the "behind the scenes". The hardest part about the class is actually going to class because of attendance.
She's really nice/quirky. 2/3 of the semester, we just watched movies & she lectures after. Gives a 50 Q fact sheet per test & its WORD FOR WORD on exams. Either t/f or fill it in. Only had to study for a couple of hours & I got 100s on all her 3 tests. & a "critique" 4pg paper is due with elements she wants. We sign in & can only miss 3 class days
Free A for those who will show up. She obviously enjoys the subject but for people like me who are not interested in every little detail of the movie it's a bit boring hearing her ramble on about some things. The movie choices are pretty good though even though they aren't things I would normally watch.
This is the most caring professor I have encountered. The class consists of three exams and one four page essay. The exam reviews are just like the exams. The film crtique is actually really fun to write. Make sure you do NOT miss more than three classes.
Prof. Gaupp is such a sweetheart. She is really passionate about the material she teaches, and it translates into her lectures. Grading criteria is really straightforward, and the films are really entertaining. However, DO NOT take an 8am class with her. Max of 3 absences and after that ea. day you miss is a whole letter grade of your final grade.
You can tell right off the bat that she loves what she's teaching and knows a lot about it. Very passionate and caring. Her assignments are totally straightforward: 3 exams and a film critique which is pretty much a movie review. You only get 3 free absences. After that, she docks a whole letter grade. Easy A, just don't take her 8am class...
I only want to say is that, even if you do not want an "A" in this class, you will get an "A".
this is a really easy class but theres required attendance. the reviews are the exact same as the test. just memorize and youll be fine. i got 100s so far on the past 2 exams. theres also a critique but its not hard. turn in early for feedback. i would work on other stuff during class but she makes u turn off electronics for films which was annoyin
Absolutely amazing ! Loved her choice of films! Take her class you will not regret it!
If you need a Fine Art credit, take Guapp. She is very kind and the class is easy. She gives out reviews that are exactly like the exams. The only thing is the 3 hour long class but watching movies make it fly by.
Dr. Gaupp ROCKS. After the first exam (3 in total), you're literally just watching movies (and exams from them). She gives out reviews that are exactly the test, so if you score terribly, that's your fault. 3 absences allowed. She's a sweet lady.
Great professor! Really cares about what she is teaching to you. This class is 3 hours long, but you can do other work in class. Test is exactly like the review. Class was cancelled 2 or 3 times while we were there and you get a max of 2 skips before your grade gets deducted. Just show up and you'll get an A.
Yes, it is very VERY easy to pass the exams. Just know that even though she's sweet, she talks A LOT. If you don't have the patience for someone pausing/talking over a film, prepare for that from her. She often times over shares and repeats herself. Her reviews are EXACTLY like the exams though, just show up to class since attendance is CRITICAL
She's the sweetest professor I ever had. 3 exams and one essay. She literally gives the exam answers word for word as the review. You must show up though, since every absence after the 3rd is a letter grade down. Definitely take if you need fine arts core or elective! Movies shown are not too bad either.
Dr. Gaupp is super kind and enthusiastic. She isn't just coming to class for a paycheck; she really loves her job. Class was so easy. Go to class, watch films. One thing: there's a sign-in sheet & you can only miss 3 classes. Graded on 3 easy tests, she posts test reviews that match the test almost verbatim. Also an easy 5 pg paper due at the end.
I def recommend Dr. Gaupp if you're looking for an easy A. The exams are exactly like the review she gives you all you need to do is look over the review. She is very adamant about putting away devices while watching the films. Very adamant. She tends to ramble on and on a lot because she is so passionate about her job. It's nice, but can get tiring
Natalie was such a homie. She was truly a pleasure to take and was truly an Easy A. She practically gives you the answers to the exams so you don't even need to take down notes. The only downside is that attendance is required but it is totally worth it to get an easy A.
Super sweet and caring, she really has a passion for theatre. Attendance is mandatory, you have 3 absences but after that you automatically fail. Her reviews are the tests so if you memorize the review, you'll make a 100. take her!
If you fail this class, then I honestly dont know what to tell you! Dr. Gaupp is probably the only Professor in this University that seeks to give you and A! However, The class isnt the most exciting and attendance is of THE UPMOST IMPORTANCE! but its a completely fair trade off for the amount of time you actually need to spend in her class.
I ADORE her omg she's so precious!!! She's so passionate & knowledgeable abt theatre & I just love watching her teach bc she gets so excited. Everything we watched in class was actually so good & I've now become a big lover of film & art. Exams are just like the review, id recommend writing ur paper early so u aren't cramming around exam season.
Dr. Gaupp is an amazing teacher, she cares so much. She is a little quirky. You need to show up to class, but it's super easy. The tests are easy and you'll get an A if you spend 30 minutes studying.
This professor made the class very entertaining. Very easy in terms of course work. No homework outside of class. She picks fun movies to watch however attendance is mandatory. Must show up to class as its a part of your grade. Overall a fun class that added no stress!
Dr. Gaupp is amazing! Yeah she is a bit quirky and rambles a lot but so worth the amount of work you actually have to put in. Its nice to take this class and not worry about any annoying assignments or stuff like that. The film choices are amazing and her passion is gold. Tests just like review and she lets you rewrite you paper if turn in early.
A nice lady, really enjoys doing what she does. Mandatory attendance and three exams + a paper. Exams are the same as the reviews, paper is an easy four page about a movie/play you watched. The only downside is the attendance, can't get around that. (Also, no phones/laptops allowed when watching films in class)
Natalie is AMAZING to learn from. Her feedback is thorough, supportive, and uplifting. I respect her passion and love for her students and our academic careers. I've never felt excited to write a 750+ word essay before this class! She's truly changed how I approach history analysis and essay exams as a whole. Distinguished and absolutely lovely.
Probably the easiest creative arts credit you can receive. Being an engineering major, it was a great and easy class to both get your GPA up while enjoying the break from tougher classes.
Very easy creative art elective. She helps you out because she cares about her students! Wouldve loved to take her in person! Take her!
Class was really straightforward, tests were exactly like the reviews. She was really caring and mindful about the students during COVID.
Very awesome professor. Easy A. Anybody who needs the credit should take her she is the best.
Honestly if you fail her class , it is on you. She includes everything you need to be able to write the Aristotelian Paper and even gives you the study guide which goes word for word for her 3 major exams. She is by far the most considerate and caring professor ever always available to help her students during tough times.
HONESTLY, if you fail taking her class, you prob won't survive facing a little puppy that hasn't opened its eyes. She is soft spoken, respectful, nice, friendly, inspirational, yada yada. Attendance wasn't mandatory bc of Covid, but might be in the future. Her test has many questions, but easy in general. take her class for an easy A ! -crocodile-
She is such a caring professor. Attendance was optional this semester since she is very understanding of the situation we are in. We watched some interesting films that I really did enjoy. Exams are simple and straightforward. I highly recommend this class she is an incredible professor.
I love Professor Gaupp!!!! One of the sweetest professors on campus. She didn't make attendance mandatory and exams were open book this semester due to covid. Her lectures are amazing.
Lovely teacher!! We mainly watched really long films, which can get pretty mundane, try not to fall asleep. We also have unit quizzes each month, abt 50 questions, but she provides a review. Mrs. Gaupp is the sweetest teacher and shes very responsive, so definitely get to know her! Also she loves to talk.
Professor Gaupp is such an amazing person, her class is super easy, every exam is open book, and her reviews, which she gives out are just like the exam!
Amazing professor and really shows her appreciation for films and the class is easy if you pay attention during the lecture parts
Professor Gaupp is an incredible professor. The lectures are interesting and there are a lot of films to watch for this class which is really fun! I 100% recommend you take this professor she tries her best to make this class fun
Wonderful professor. You get to watch many films and exams are not too difficult as she lets you know what to study for. Take this professor you will not regret it.
really caring and enjoys what she is teaching which makes you care more. would def recommend even though this became an online class for me after she got injured early in the semester. chill class too, her reviews are literally the quiz so ball on that
Although the class was moved to online at the beginning of the semester, Professor Gaupp was amazing at communicating information to us related to quizzes and our final assignment. All the material she gave was helpful and easy to get done.
Dr. Gaupp is an amazing and kind person. After this class was switched to online, the grading was dictated by the three unit quizzes and a final essay, which is over one out of the selection of movies she offers (all very easy and doable). She is very understanding, responds to emails, and gives clear information about assignments and deadlines.
All exams are open books. It is impossible to fail this class. You will not regret choosing her as your professor.
She clearly cares about what she talks about and teaches. She doesnt read from a textbook, she actually has insight on theater topics and it shows. Super nice and lenient with assignments and exams.
She is not just an amazing teacher, but a fabulous person. She seems to genuinely care about the journey of learning, not just grading. You don't need to go to the lectures to get an A, but I would recommend it if you want to experience a class with a teacher, who actually teaches.
I took this class for an art credit for my major and this class is very easy. Attendance is not required but I went occasionally to the class to learn a thing or two about theater or to see what was going on in class. Exams are online and it is open book as well. Not a hard class overall easy A. Professor is very knowledgeable about the topic too.
The grade is based on 3 unit finals, but all answers are posted in a study guide a few days beforehand. The majority of the class is watching plays and movies. Very kind professor, very sweet. Cancelled class one day because of a storm and just wanted her students to be safe.
She's so understanding and really wants to teach students rather than stressing them out over a projects and tests.
Took fall 2022. Very easy class, there were three exams that are open-note and the questions are exactly as they appear in the study guide. The final exam was an easy essay. She provides links to the films so that you can watch them if you don't attend class. You could get by never showing up to class, but I did enjoy the lectures.
Easiest class she is very caring! The only assignments in the whole semester was 3 tests and they are open note and all the question are word for word on the review. The final is an essay about your opinion on the movies watched in class
love her, she is a slay for any stem major
Dr.Gaupp is very very chatty. She's a sweet lady, and her course is one of the easiests classes I took, easy A+. Her class consists of three quizes, which are all open book (the reviews are EXACTLY like the quizes) and final writting assignment. She'll give anyone an extension as long as they ask. You'll watch multiple films as part of the course.
Dr Gaupp always seems very passionate about what she talks about.I highly recommend this class,it is an easy, A+ as long as you do the quizzes. She does provides review sheets for quizzes. She is caring with students and is open with any questions.
Dr. Natalie Gaupp is an amazing teacher and very easy going. All of the quizzes you're allowed to use notes. The final writing project was very understandable and she was more than happy to read my rough draft to make sure I was doing it correctly. Overall, Dr. Guapp is a caring teacher and enjoys teaching her students.
Dr. Gaupp is a very caring and nice professor. She shows passion behind the material we consume throughout the semester which is something more professors should show! Final "exam" grade is going to be an essay that she lets you know about since the beginning so you can get that done whenever you want.
All quizzes were open-note and taken on your own time. Final exam is an essay over one of the movies watched in class. Very passionate professor, though having her at 8am was brutal.
I cannot say it enough. Dr. Gaupp is one of the best professors I have ever had. All of her assignments are common sense and super duper easy and light. It is difficult to fail in her class. Just make sure not to talk or disrupt the class while she's lecturing. Mid-term and final exams were super easy. Highly recommend!!!
Dr. Gaupp made 1301 easy and enjoyable. She makes a point to be accessible and accommodating to all of her students. She usually provides detailed in person feedback before grading essays and makes the class very manageable. As long as you show up and do a bit of writing out of class you'll pass. You can can probably get by without buying the book
Never ever again. I swear it was impossible to learn anything in this class as she'd get distracted and go off on a 40 minute tangent that usually ended with her in tears or talking to a dead person. If you don't know the content prior, don't do it. Easy A, but costs your sanity.
TAKE IT!!!
