She is great at making difficult material clear.The classes seemed to go by pretty quickly and i understood the class pretty well.I didnt use the book once, but i am kind of naturally good at mat, i think most of the class did the homework every time and needed the book.

She explains all of the steps clearly (not alot of examples though) and gives a lot of homework to help you understand. Study notes and HWs and you should do fine. Doesn't use the book all that much.

Hegwood's by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She's good at explaining everything clearly and, although she does give a lot of homework, she never takes it up for a grade and she ALWAYS attachs an answer sheet on the back. If you have to take BAN 363, i would definately recommend taking her!

hegwood makes it easy to understand statitistics. she's got ocd tendencies and is very organized, so as long as you follow her lead, you will do great in her class. lots of handouts, amounts of hw weren't overwhelming, 4 exams and a final.

She's a great teacher! You don't need the book even though she suggests it. Her notes are so thorough you really don't need it. she makes statistics a breeze! I'm taking her right now in the summer session, which is about to end, and all of the homework is on BB and there's only 3 tests and an optional final! TAKE HER!!

She is an amazing teacher. She explains everything you need to know. Just take notes that she writes on the board and you will do great. I made a B but if I would have done the homeworks and did the practice test before class I could have gotten an A. She post practice test for each exam and it is her test for the prior semester.

Prior to this class I had a horrible BAN 232 teacher. She made up for it by explaining everything with such detail, is willing to help in any way, and if you do the homework you will make the grade. Make sure you attend every class, because she gives quizzes that count as bonuses. This really helped with my test grades...going from a B to an A.

Good instructor, very clear. She does speak very fast a recording device might be helpful. CON: She does jump around in lecture from current concepts to mentioning future concepts that are not important at the time. She does provide handouts and reviews before tests. Some use of book for ungraded homework assignments. Tests are all multiple-choice

Fast paced class, attendance not mandatory, but will give quizzes that will add to one test grade which will give you an easy A for a test. If not for the quizzes I would have a C or D instead of a B. She is a good teacher and knows her stuff, but you will have to study!

SEC she is a fantastic teacher! Very thorough, and really knows her stuff. Don't miss class, its not worth it because even one day missed will put you way behind. Take her if you want to know your stuff.

She is a great teacher with very clear notes. This class is not going to be easy in the first place but if you can take her then I would do so. You need your book and may need to attend tuitoring but getting a good grade is possible.

One of the best professors I've taken. She teaches very clearly and her tests and quizzes are straight forward--no tricks. I barely used the book, her assignments/practice tests are all you need. Don't miss class or you'll be lost. She's also very friendly and helpful. Class is not hard if you do the avg amount of work needed. Replaces lowest test grade w/ optional comprehensive final. Do well on the tests and drop the final, that's what I did and I made an A. Take her and do the work.

She makes sure she explains everything very well, and she does multiple in-class examples. She assigns homework but it isn't required and you don't turn it in. She has quizzes occasionally and there 3 tests and an option comprehensive final that can be used to replace your lowest test score. Overall- I definitely recommend taking her!

I could not imagine taking this class with another teacher, she was so helpful. The class is hard, so expect to go to tutoring for extra help. there are 4 test, with an optional final and 7-8 quizes, but only 5 of them are used for your grade. She made a hard class not so hard. She gives very good notes and lots of practice thru blackboard

This teacher is awesome, she is very clear and doesnt mind explaining something to you multiple times. I hated the intro class and loved this course. Highly recommend this teacher, do all of your homework problems multiple times and you will have no problem for sure. She always gets to class early if you need extra help as well.

While I did make an A, I feel I did nothing to earn it, nor could I do anything that was asked of me outside of a classroom. The way she structures the class doesn't promote learning. She holds your hand and tells you everything she wants done; there's no room for error. I know of people who worked harder, but got lower grades and I'm not special.

She is very clear on how to do each steps. She will hold your hand through the entire process. Although I did not receive the best grade, doesn't mean she is not a good teacher. . .because she is. I just did not try hard enough. I would recommend.

Not going to lie, the class is all Statistics, not kiddy stuff. The material gets very technical and complicated, but Dr. Hegwood gives you printouts of multiple examples to help you study. If I had taken this class with any other professor, I most likely would not have made an A. . Come to class, do the homework, you'll be fine. Take her!

Dr. Hegwood gives students what they need to pass. She explains the material well, her homework is helpful, she provides a practice exam for each exam except the final (final is OPTIONAL), encourages in-class questions & isn't a tough grader. Tests are all multiple choice. As long as you go to class, pay attention, & do your work, you'll pass.

The best professor I had last semester! She's is super intelligent, extremely helpful and cares about her students. I would take her for every class, if that were possible!

Dr. Hegwood is the best professor I've had in my entire educational career. She explains the material very well and does not mind reviewing it for clarification, if need be. Her grading feedback is phenomenal. DO NOT MISS A CLASS. I had a sinus infection and missed 10 minutes of her lecture due to a cough attack, was so lost when I went back in!

Enjoyed the class. She covers all the bases during her lectures, so you will get exposure to EVERYTHING that you'll be tested on. The material at the beginning of the semester is very important, and once you understand the basics it makes everything else workable. Enjoy her teaching style. Tests were multiple choice :)

I took this class for Summer II and found Prof. Hegwood to be extremely helpful! She shows you how to perform each problem step by step and will help you during or after class if you still don't understand. She also lets you know what all will be on each test so that you can adequately study and be prepared.

Professor Hegwood cares about her students. Anytime I needed help with something a didn't understand, she was always available/willing to help me. She's great! I strongly recommend her class.

If you struggle in Statistics this is the professor to take. She gives clear lectures with examples that you can relate to. She comes to class early to answer any questions you may have on the homework or any questions over the material in general. Do the homework, go to class and pay attention and you should do fine. Perfect professor for this class. Gives homework but don't have to turn it in, but it helps you so do it! Attend class everyday so you understand the material. Goes step by step. Answers all questions. Emails back pretty well. Gives quizzes but are easy. Gives exam reviews (same as exam will be, she just changes the wording & #'s). TAKE HER!

Took her first online class, the course itself was difficult, but she was awesome! I'm so lucky I got some who was so clear and easy to understand! Tests are really short, so if you get just a few wrong, you'll fail :/ Overall, I was so glad I got her as my professor in this course! I've had others that were long and drawn out and very confusing!

I failed the first BANA course 3 different times before I barely passed it. I dropped 3363 once before this, but I managed to make an 88 in the course thanks to Prof. Hegwood. Her lecture videos are broken up and she explains things perfectly. No unnecessary information, just what you need to succeed. 10/10 would take her over the other professors.

She is an amazing professor and the quizzes along with online homework are exactly like the tests. She really is passionate about her subject. She gives a lot of cushion for your grade. If you do good enough you can opt out of the final. The class itself isn't hard but you have to know the basic info otherwise it'll be harder than it should be.

Dr. Hegwood, is a great instructor! However, she will make you earn your grade. She replies to emails and answers any questions promptly. Sometimes she goes overboard, covering things not on exam... but just weed out what you don't need. I took this class in summer... My life was this class... the class is a little challenging because the material is tedious. Dr. Hegwood does a great job of explaining the material and making sure you understand. Homework isn't mandatory and neither is the book, but the book is good for optional homework to help practice the problems. We would learn a topic and quiz over it, it keeps you on track.

There is a lot of work but if you do it, you will pass the class with a B or an A. She gives test practices to help you study for the test which are similar to the actual test. would take her again.

Her lecture is super easy to follow. She explain EVERYTHING IN GREAT DETAIL. She uses real life examples, and explain how it relate to real life situation. If you don't understand something, she will explain it until you do. Her test is easy, just STUDY the practice exam and homework (not graded) and you WILL PASS with an A. Easy

Dr Hegwood has been my favorite teacher at SHSU. Her lectures are easy to follow and she makes a difficult subject easier to understand! She completely sets you up for success.

Prof Hegwood does an amazing job of explaining what i consider tough subject matter. You will: 1-have to show up for class. 2-take notes & listen. 3-do the homework. Do those 3 things, you should pass. 3 tests, 8 quizzes, and a final. Top 5 quizzes count as a test grade, drop lowest test. If Stats is hard for you, take her, she is good.

I was afraid to take Dr. Hegwood because of reading the comments on here about her but I am happy to say, she is a great teacher and she is so good at explaining a very complicated subject matter. I was always awful at "math" but I got an A in her class. If you aren't afraid to work for your grade and do the homework, you shouldn't have a problem.

Took her online, she is honestly such a great professor! Get's right to the point and makes it so easy for you to understand! Gives weekly quizzes, assigns hw from the book but it's just for you to practice but I do recommend getting it. Her exams are proctored which sucks but I ended up really liking this class!

I absolutely recommend Dr. Hegwood. She writes everything on the board so you have to take notes, but with math, this way of teaching helped me so much. She gives really good feedback if you ask her questions. She will also go out of her way to find different ways of explaining things if you aren't understanding something. Amazing Professor.

Great professor. The subject is hard, you have to do the homework (ungraded) to help you understand. Practice the class/example homework over and over and you can earn an A. Ask questions, she is very willing to help. I would take her again if I had a difficult subject to take.

Despite the exams being proctored, I definitely would recommend her. Quizes are weekly and are pretty easy, excel assignment basically have step-by-step instructions, and you won't need to use the text ever. The only thing you'll work for is the exams. Word of advice, take this right after 2372, as the first unit is basically just a recap of that.

I'm not a fan of statistics at all, but Dr. Hegwood manages to make the class very manageable. You'll have 7 Quizzes and she drops the two lowest. The total of those equal an exam grade. Excel assignments, which are not difficult equal an exam grade. 4 exams + cumulative final that can replace your lowest exam. Quiz's are harder than exams.

I am awful at math but managed to pass this course. It is difficult so be prepared to do homework every day. I ended up taking her for both BANA courses spring/summer. She provides exam reviews which help alot. study homework and quizes and you will pass.

She is very caring! She is there for you during office hours and ready to help with everything you need help with and explain things step by step. I visited her office often. I took her online class. 4 exams & the final replaces lowest test grade. 10 quizzes total open book about 5 questions each. Her lectures online are very well detailed.

Only watched lectures posted online several times each, goes over material good. Never went to class in person or zoom. It is a stats class so you'll have to put in the work. 10 quizzes, 3 attempts each. 10 excel assignments with videos showing how to do them. 4 exams & optional cumulative final to replace lowest exam grade.

Super HARD class BUT, the Professor is helpful and readily available to help along the way. Do your homework and the quizzes. You will be allowed to take them up to 3 times. Even if you score high on your first try, attempt the other 2 tries. Trust me, this will help you during your final. The questions from the final are from your quizzes.

Dr. Hegwood is by far the better BANA professor compared to other options at SHSU. This course material is a lot, and not really applicable to real life needs. However, after taking the first BANA with the other professor option, I can guarantee you should sign up for Dr. Hegwood's class. She tries to connect the work to real world scenarios.

This class is hard enough as it is, but Natalie has a video for every single topic that she goes over online. This is a class where you HAVE to make sure you understand the material before moving on. Tests are proctored and you do have formula sheet(s) to use as well as scratch paper, but you are unable to write on them before the test.

Professor Hegwood wasn't a bad professor she replied fast and stuck to the rubric. However, her class was just extremely difficult for me personally. Her lectures were hard to understand and I felt needed to be explained better. (if you are good with the subject you'll be fine, I wasn't) 4 proctored tests, 10 quizzes, and 10 excel assignments.

Great teacher however the class for me was difficult. if you missed a day in class you'd end up missing a lot which was why I never missed a day. As long as you study and prepare you should be fine. overall great teacher the class is just really hard.

Everything is laid out clear. Average workload. Uses the ebook and its homework problems/ excel exercises . Be prepared for 2-4 free response questions requiring u to type out each step. Sometimes worth 15 or more pts each out of a 22 question test- but she did give partial credit for the portions you got correct in the answer. Optional Final.

BANA is going to be a hard class no matter who you take. I like Hegwoods online portal. Each chapter had lecture videos and a quiz due each week. The lecture video are short (less than 10 minutes) but they are straight to point so you dont waste any time trying to figure out what is going to be on the test. The class is set up perfectly for online.

Took her UNIV 1101 class, was very professional and organized. The content was more than expected for a 1-hour class, but none of it was super difficult. If you show up to all the events and do the work, you'll get the grade you want.

I am currently taking UNIV 1101 specifically for business majors and Dr. Hegwood is my instructor for this course. She is pretty upbeat and friendly.
