If your going to take GPSYC, make sure you get Dr. Kerr..she uses really good examples that help you rememeber all the concepts, and she really makes it a priority to get the class involved. Attendance isnt required but you should go anway bc her examples will help you on the tests. Great class!

If you struggle in any type of Math, especially Stats, please take this teacher. Nobody will be more clearer or simplify things the way this woman does. She is amazing and I thank God everyday that he sent her to JMU!! She has given me a whole new outlook on math and I will forever be grateful!!

I love this prof! She makes everything so clear. I really have a hard time in math, but I have an A in her class. There are 10 graded HW assignments, but they're pretty easy and they really help you learn the material. Tests are prett easy, she explains everything so well. One research proj, easy

Dr.Kerr is VERY HELPFUL ! I missed one of her classes and she helped me before we had to take a quiz. If you need help just ask because she is willing. Her class is very interseting and she adds some humor into her lectures to make it fun.

ths is my first psych class and after her I LOVE psych. class is fun, interesting, and manageable. lectures are interesting--she showsh movie clips, does class demonstrations and fun experiments, and even brings her adorable dog! just read the book, study the powerpoints and notes, and you'll do fine!

I LOVE THIS CLASS!Tests are a little difficult, just study hard. Quizes are easy, as long as you study. Assignments due the day of the quiz, help you prepare for the quizzes. She even brings her dog!! PP are all you need to study too. Good experiments and examples that she does on the students in class. I love it!

I put forth minimal effort and got a 'B'. You will only need to go to class to turn in homeworks and take the quizzes. Those are both outlined on the syllabus. Exams can be a little tricky though. Overall, nice lady and a helpful professor. Take her if she's available.

AWESOME teacher... class is not hard - you do not need to go (unless turning something in) but you will want to. im not kidding, this class was so much fun. She really knows how to get the class involved with the concepts. TAKE HER... if your lucky enough to have any open spaces in her class

EXTREMELY easy. go to class, do the assignments. I easily got a B+ with minimal effort. the only thing i wish i did was the exam reviews. do the exam reviews, and go to the exam review sessions. they are extremely helpful! not only is the class easy, professor kerr actually makes it interesting and worthwhile. highly recommend! :)

I took her for online gpsyc 101 and it was great. I had taken online classes before and had my reservations due to not doing so well in them but she made this class really easy. Although we did have to do a lot of reading, I learned a lot. Also because it was online she would give us helpful study guides to really help us learn the material. 1010

You can tell professor Kerr is really passionate when she teaches. I took her for social psyc and it has become one of my favorite classes at JMU. She respects her students and the number 1 thing I love about her is she's way more concerned about you learning the material and not so much grades. She's super flexible & understanding. Take her!

One of the easiest classes I have taken at JMU. If you want a class where you can get an easy A than this is the one you should take. I never went to class, I never read the book, and I still ended up with an A. Definitely a GPA booster

Best professor! There is a quiz on each chapter before the lecture, but if you read the textbook, you'll be fine- it really helps prepare you for the test. She truly wants you to learn, so she uses a variety of teaching methods (videos, group work, lecture, etc.) Her lectures are AMAZING and will prepare you perfectly for the tests- go to class!

Dr. Kerr was one of my best professors. Her lectures were extremely engaging and did not drag on. There are quizzes for every assigned chapter in the book, and most of the exam is based on lecture notes, but both of which are very straight forward and fairly easy. Dr. Kerr incorporates her own life experiences into the lecture which makes it fun.

I love Natalie Kerr! I personally think she's one of the best professors. Her exams are not that hard, as long as you study from both the textbook and lecture material. She's so sweet, loves her students, and gives us great examples to help apply back into our life. Chapter quizzes aren't hard, just study the vocab. She loves to help her students!!

Dr. Kerr gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Her lectures are interesting and engaging and she is just a wonderful person. You won't pass if you do not read the chapters, but if you read, show up to class, and study; you won't do bad. If you are looking for a no effort GenEd, this is not for you, but take if you're into psych.

She was a really good professor, quizzes every other class but quizzes are terms straight from the textbook, if you use quizlet you'll be fine. Had to participate in SONA studies which was not bad. Answered all my emails in a timely manner. Easy B+ and an A is definitely obtainable.

Ms. Kerr is a really good teacher. The class itself is pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class and take notes. You don't have to read but it helps as the pop quizzes are mainly on vocab in from the chapter. She is also really sweet and the lectures are simple and interesting. Attendance not mandatory but go to class.

I really liked Natalie, she cares so much about her students and their mental health. She gives a pre lec quiz before every chapter, expecting to you to read them before each new unit, but you have to look at the dates because she doesn't tell you when it is. However, for tests she lets you have one 3x5 "cheat sheet" to reduce stress/anxiety.

Such a nice and caring lady who really understands the mental health of college students and does acknowledge difficulties and reasonable work. Has her hilarious moments and provides very interesting lectures on engaging material. Read the textbook and go to class and its not too bad.

Dr. Kerr was probably the nicest professor I have ever had. You could tell she was bummed out that we were learning virtually, but the class was still very interesting to me. It is more difficult than a lot of PSYC classes, especially the exams, but overall it was a very fun class.

For an online class I just took to fill a gen ed I feel like I actually learned something. You have one group quiz a week and those are the only mandatory classes. There are four tests including the final and some mini papers you have to write but it is all easily manageable. She replaces your lowest test grade with your second highest. Easy A.

Easy class especially if you're trying to fill a requirement. 2-3 chapters a week online with lectures and textbook readings. Quizzes/tests are pretty straight-forward. A very doable summer and/or online class. Dr. Kerr also hosts weekly help sessions that are optional, but class is completely asynchronous.

She is amazing! Tests and quizzes are not too difficult. If you go to class and take good notes, you will pass. Her lectures prepare you for other classes in college by providing helpful study and note taking tips. Reading the assigned chapters for the week prepares you for the class.

Oh my gosh I love Dr. Kerr, she is THE BEST professor i've had at JMU. Her lectures are amazing, and she structures them to help you understand/take in the information. She is a mental health advocate and understands personal issues. Reading the textbook helps a ton, she offers extra credit, all in all I look forward to her class!

Absolutely amazing professor! She lets us use our textbook and notes on quizzes and tests which is super nice. You do have to read the chapters from the book because she doesn't go over everything in them but they are very interesting and go by quick. One of the best professors I've ever had at JMU so far

Dr. Kerr has been amazing so far. Interesting, engaging lectures Monday and Wednesday, and Friday we take an individual quiz(one handwritten flashcard is allowed), followed by the same quiz but taken with your group. (Separate grade for each) Exams are online, open note and open book. Can't recommend enough.

Dr. Kerr has been a great professor for psych 101. Mon and Wed she lectures and Friday we take a group/individual quiz. The class is pretty straightforward as long as you put the effort into trying. Definitely recommend Dr. Kerr!

I LOVED DR KERR! She made PSYC 101 so easy and interesting. She gives extra credit to everyone for staying off your phone, and all her exams are out of class, online, and open note. Even though attendance is required on quiz days, she lets you use a notecard. Theres also a group quiz each week to help raise your grade.

Dr. Kerr was an amazing teacher. Her lectures are in class and she randomly does participation (to make sure you go to class). Your grade is based on an individual and group quiz each week and then 4 exams (online and open note). The quizzes and exams are based on lecture and reading, so make sure you get the textbook. 100% would take again.

Dr. Kerr is literally the sweetest, you can tell she loves her job. Classes are super relaxed, just lectures. You will have weekly quizzes on Fridays which sometimes sucks but it really does benefit you in the end. Exams are open notes and laid back. Definitely take her if you can, you won't regret it.

I think overall, she is a really good professor, as you show respect to her she does the same for you. We got 8 extra credits points this semester just for not being on our phones in class (MWF, 50 min class).

I liked this class. She tries to make it interesting and teaches you ways to help remember the material better. Weekly quizzes and 4 exams, you can use a notecard on everything. Some material is only found in the textbook so I actually used it. She also does group quizzes and exams to try to help your grade too. I think she's a great professor.

Prof Kerr made this class very interesting and I had fun learning the content. For tests, we would take it individually first, then would take the same test with groups which was a nice grade boost and I ended up becoming good friends with people in my group. All I did was textbook work and attend lectures and was able to get A's on every test.

Dr Kerr is great. **allows cheat sheets for quiz/tests** She's very nice and gives a ton of extra credit opportunities just by putting your phone away in class. At first it felt annoying bc why am I an adult and I still have to be told to put my phone away, but honestly it was great because I paid so much attention to class and took great notes.

Dr. Kerr is by far the best professor I have had. She is passionate about teaching and passionate about psychology. Her lectures are very entertaining and thought out. In bigger lectures she makes small groups so the class feels smaller. Attendance is not mandatory but very recommended. Read the textbook, not everything is covered in class.

Makes a huge class (300 ppl) feel small by encouraging group learning and studying. She is very helpful at office hours and wants you to succeed. If you show up to class and take notes on data on slideshows and stuff she repeats you will get an A.

For a big lecture, she made it so fun and interactive. We got to work with groups on quizzes and have flash cards too. The work was easy (and super interesting, take psych). Weekly quizzes are easy, do the study guides.

One of my favorite professors ever. The class is 300+ and yet she still makes it feel small. You're put into a group with assigned seating in the beginning of the year so it doesn't matter if you take the class with someone you know. You get a notecard for all quizzes/tests, and there is so much extra credit. 10/10.

Dr. Kerr is the best Gen-Ed professor you can take. Her lectures are engaging and you'll actually learn from them. There are 10 question quizzes every other class but as long as you pay attention and at least skim the textbook reading, you'll do fine (you can bring a note card). You're also assigned a group for the semester which is very helpful.

Her class is honestly so chill. You get a notecard for each chapter quiz which you can then use on the tests. Quizzes are lecture heavy and tests and 50/50 textbook and lecture. Hard course but wonderful professor. She's amazing at linking the course material to personal examples, doesn't simply read off the textbook, gives reviews for exams and quizzes in the form of a Kahoot, gives extra credit, is clear with what's required of you, and is generally friendly.

She gives you textbook study guide questions so just do those to prepare for quizzes and exams. Allows 1 notecard for each quiz and then a notecard for each chapter that is on the exams.
